I'm writing an epic fantasy novel I fully intend to publish. I've been developing the setting in a way that's inviting to OCs and roleplaying. I want people to inhabit this world, to feel welcome and seen. As I've spent the past decade working in the ttrpg industry, I think I have a strong handle on this. I want people to make homebrew and get creative with it.

That being said if I see thoughtless D&D comparisons I'll destroy you in ways hitherto unseen.

"Uriel is a Barbarian who-" No. Absolutely not. I'll tell your mother what you post.

"Aanya is a Ranger or a Gunslinger from-" No. Incorrect. I'll let my cat pee in a hidden place in your house.

LIMELIGHT pt. 1

A project for school where we had to make a small pitch from scratch. This was a pitch for a game based off a dream I had where your goal was to bring an obscuring god back into notoriety- into the limelight.

More details under the cut!

I love basing stuff off my dreams- I do it a lot more often than you'd think! And this one was so linear and perfectly timed and it first right in with the rest of my body of work, so I had to make Something off of it.

The concept was: You start by taking a short quiz, answering questions about yourself and how you think, and you get one of four protagonists paired with one of four gods- Next post will have two of the gods and one of the protagonists, since those are the only ones I remember- and, as stated, the goal is to bring them back to relevance while maintaining whatever other elements of your life you have (be it jobs, school, ect.).

These days I only remember a bit of the dream- the things I wrote down and all. Stuff like having sodas and drinks as additional little powerups, color coded to the different gods as you could get blessings from any of them, the bar they all hung out at that's oddly reminiscent of one I go to myself, train tracks you had to run across to get there (with an oncoming train), and some things I'll ramble about next post.

Part of me wishes I could really do something with this, but I'm a comics guy and not really much of a gamer. Visually, in the dream, it was distinctly a game similar to Kentucky Route Zero, that's kinda why they have no faces. It's meant to be in that same realm of like. Afterparty and Oxenfree and other games like that. Idk, I always really liked this idea. I have expanded on it a touch outside the dream but I tried to keep it mostly to that.

Under the weather today so killed a bunch of time dinking around on a project I should not be messing with yet.

It was probly inevitable that I would jump the gun at least a little bit on the Scrapped Gods opener now I have the bangin soundtrack.

One of the main settings of Scrapped Gods that I'm actually sure about is a dead shopping mall in winter. There's a mall near the area the story is set in that has a carousel in it, that I'm killing in my near future scifi.

Thankfully, there's also a mall near me that has a carousel, so I could go get the ref pics I needed. Can't wait to add more snow, decay, and creepy lighting.

Working on planning the new world with the DM of an AdEva game that switched to OVA. I originally made a throw away comment about a random NPC that lived in one of the less structured parts of the world, and the DM latched onto that as a really interesting plot point.

Smash cut to me researching history and naming conventions and geography and how these all intersect just so I can make this random trans man and his husband who will likely not even show up ingame.

Local Soho lurker, known associate of Mr. Fell, inspiring so much lust around him people flock to the brothel to see if they can spend some quality time with him. And it happens so frequently Mrs. Sandwich had to put a sign up.

Poor Mrs. Sandwich. ‘Yes I know he looks like he works as a seamstress, but he does NOT, so if you could kindly pay me, thank you very much.’

I can’t decide which is funnier, Crowley accepting money from Mrs. Sandwich’s patrons (does he cackle as he does this? Is he confused? Does he walk the money over to her afterwards or do something else with it?) or Mrs. Sandwich having to march over to him and sternly asking him to stop letting patrons pay him instead (does she cock her hip and stick out her hand? Does she laugh along with him? Do they bond over it?? Are Crowley and Mrs. Sandwich buds???)
