I genuinely can’t tell if that’s a new model of movie!shadow or if it’s the same one from the second film. It looks new to me but I keep seeing people say that it’s not new.

Oh! Excellent question, my dear. In short, I have no idea. It looks relatively new, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same one that was from the second film. I think that it might be the same one from the post credit scene—the eye shape looks the same.

I hope that we’ll get a clearer picture of this sign in the future. I’d like to know as well.

What everyone wants to know is....will Shadow use a gun in the movie?

Well....they already brought back the Dark Rider and it's clear the Shadow game is very close to Jeff Fowler's heart. So I think he'll hold a gun at least once, however...

Every time someone draws a weapon it's either a Taser, a tranq gun or some type of sci-fi energy pistol. The only exception is in the first movie when Wade nearly shoots Robotnik, we never see a regular firearm being used after that.

So we probably won't see Shadow using a realistic gun or rifle like in the 2005 game. It'll most likely be some sci-fi weapon like the ones used by GUN in the movies.

Sonic and Shadow: somewhat, they're twins.

Even before Shadow was a concept, Sonic's past was the most mysterious one. We knew about tails past, Amy past and Knuckles past. But about Sonic we only knew his personality, that he fought Eggman and that liked to run.

One of first attempt to give Sonic a past was in Fleetway comics...

Human father and scientist... bigh moustache, somewhat slim... Gerard vibes. Sonic himself, like Shadow is somewhat enginered. And like Shadow Sonic is going to lose his father.

Not far different, even more similar to Shadow past. Longclaw is Sonic's adoptive howl mother and a female figure. And like Maria she is the supporting figure to the little one. Both Maria and Longclaw sacrificed theirselves to save their adoptive brother/son. Both Sonic and Shadow saw their loved ones getting hurt but they didn't see them actually die, they just figured out.

Now, I don't know if this is a rumor of if this was a scrapped idea, but I've read a theory about that originally SA2 would have explored Shadow AND Sonic past, hinting they were actual brothers and not just two identical hedgehogs. Thinking about this, Shadow's original personality had some traits that are also part of Sonic's: exicted by speed, playful and mischievous and even uses some Sonic's catchprhases (no problem, piece of cake with his iconic quiet voice), though they were toned down by his way calmer nature.

Anyway, in Sonic movie Shadow's past will be the one we know and Sonic in the movie had a very similar past. It would be interesting to see how this will work.

Is like they truly wanted Sonic anc Shadow being twins (like Mario and Luigi) but they didn't wanted to mess to much with the lore and wanted to avoid to retcon. Also because here and there they insist on underline Sonic and Shadow likeness, showing characters around them confused, switching their names and so on...

I’m too lazy to find it but there was a line in the Knuckles series that says another alien (besides Knuckles) was in a bowling tournament in 1974 which SEEMS to be implying that Shadow was that alien but. What.

This either means that

A) After The Incident™, between Shadow getting shot into space and GUN finding him, he was conscious and decided to PLAY BOWLING??

B) The whole “50 years ago” bit refers to the date project Shadow started and not the date of The Incident™, and Shadow got to visit Earth? Or maybe they’re ditching the ARK entirely and he was just chillin?

C) They’re referring to Black Doom and not Shadow. Black Doom played bowling.

D) It was some other random mobian or other alien

Oh! This is very interesting! And thank you for reminding me, I completely forgot about this over the weekend.

For those of you who don’t know, Las Vegas is hosting a licensing expo where SEGA is revealing up coming merchandise to celebrate its 65th anniversary. This event goes from today to Thursday (23rd). Some of the merch that they’ve listed for the event have to do with the third movie. This being apparel, collectibles, toys, books, and more. It’s possible that action figures and/or play-sets for Sonic 3 will be revealed, but I wouldn’t count on it 100%. I have a feeling that this event will be heavily monitored.

However, if anything is accidentally revealed, please tag your spoilers.
