STAN THE MAN!

Stanley is 7 years 9 months-old and sponsored by Michael Snider. SNAP Cats rescued Stanley from Hanford, CA. Stanley is a real sweetheart! He gets along great with the other kitties here, and could probably tolerate a cat-friendly dog. We’re not sure if Stanley will use the litter box all of the time, but he makes an effort to go there… sometimes. Since he’s been here he’s gained a bit more control of his functions. But, he's basically incontinent. Which means he's a very messy, bath-a-day kitty. But look at that face. Is a bath-a-day too much to ask?! We think not!

If you place a box in the yard, it will catch a cat! 😹 Benny was upset there was a nice cardboard box on the other side of the fence. He stuck his claws through the links trying to grab the box! I did the second best thing and put one out in the yard for him to enjoy. It’s Anakin’s Gotcha Day! 😻 5/31/12 ❤️ 12 Years Ago Today! 🐾 Here’s my very 1st post about Anakin…. We have a new kitten! A very special new kitten. I wasn't looking to get another cat right now but you know how these things just happen. About two weeks ago a kitten without back legs started coming over to eat with the other feral cats at my dad's work. My first few trips to attempt to catch him didn't work out. Then Thursday (5/31/2012), Ian, Angel & I went to see if this was the day we could catch him. The kitten was cowering in the bushes & I climbed into the bushes & pulled the kitten out. We brought the kitten home & I set it up in our hall bathroom, exactly like I did with Trixie & Pixie two years earlier. Friday morning (6/1/2012) I took him to our vet as soon as they opened. Our vet said she has never seen anything like him before & he is amazing & that it's also amazing that his mother took care of him even with his handicap. She examined him & he is a little boy, approximately 6 to 8 weeks old & it in really good health. Two xrays on him showed he was born with no pelvis or back legs. We let him walk around the room for a minute to see how he moves. He positions his front legs at an angle towards the middle of his body & balances his backend in the air with the use of his tail touching the ground if he needs it. He gets around really well that way & is pretty quick too. The xray also showed that his insides were not malformed, last was the feline leukemia test. He's came back negative. So we got him vaccinated, dewormed & a little flea meds & unless we have any problems with him, he goes back to the vet in three weeks :) Now, he is home getting comfy in his little bathroom & will be there for a while till he is bigger, stronger & ready to be socialized with the other cats & our dog. He is such a sweet calm little guy :) He is happy to cuddle in our laps & purrs really loud. He likes to play with a little toy mouse & also chase a beaded necklaces around on the floor. We have decided to name him Anakin & will be calling him "Ani" (yes after Anakin Skywalker :D ) Here's a video of him walking ~ http://youtu.be/zMIBxFtvZKI

BLACK CAT FRIDAY!

This Lady. She’s about 15 years-old. Lady’s person passed away recently, and a friend kept her for a while but ended up surrendering Lady to SF ACC because he couldn't keep her anymore. SF ACC used Lady’s microchip to track down her origin info and learned that she was adopted-out as a kitten from Contra Costa Animal Services in 2009. So, Lady was a loved cat that unfortunately lost her person.

7 years ago little man was rescued from a hoarder, he was found in her ditch with his throat crushed which resulted in permanent stunted growth. He is also deaf and partially blind, and his stunted kitten like paws still hold his chonky self. He is still full of life despite his disabilities. last weekend he got a blockage of urine crystals and almost died. He spent a few days at the vet and it was a miracle he recovered. The vet almost didn’t go through with it because we still owed money from our other cat eating fishing line
