Serious question. Would harry be able to just claim he’s dating someone casually and have there be no pictures. Or does he have to keep stunting til he comes out?
The answer to that depends on Harry’s goals.
I was talking to a friend about this earlier today and said to her that I think he does these stunts because in order to get the sort of press coverage he wants/needs, if he didn’t have a love life that people gossiped about, he’d otherwise have to let people in on his private life so much more than he’s willing to. So, for him, the trade off is the constant string of girlfriends. It’s super frustrating for those of us that see beyond it. But I think it’s intentional and makes his real life happier.
Fame is a fucking weird goal. Such a double edged sword. I’m sure he’d love to not be famous if all the stuff he does love (access to do wonderful things/meet amazing people/go to beautiful places, ability to create/perform his art, etc etc) was still available to him without it.
My thought is that as he gets older and hopefully becomes one of those “legendary” artists, people will just be excited for him to drop music and tour and they won’t need to be constantly fed gossip. I tend to think that’s the goal he’s focused on and the stunts these days are just a price he is willing to pay in order to ultimately reach it.

I think the main problem with (mostly new) larries is that they take H´s stunt as some evil woman who holds him in chains in the basement and let him out only occasionally. And so when bua arrives and H is stunt-free, these people take it as he broke the chains and escaped the basement prison and the first thing he will do is to fly to where Louis, his true love. But no, it doesn´t work like this, they both have their lifes planned ahead and bua is something that has been planned anyway months before (actually when the stunt deal has been signed). Also do these people realize how stressful it would be for both of them if H decide to be with Louis because they are closeted? That would be the moment when H will be locked up in Louis´ hotel room for days only waiting for Louis because he can´t be spotter literally anywhere nor on the same continent because that would be suspicious why he´s there. We are not watching some romcom or reading fic, their relationship is real and it´s their relationship and they live it, they know the whole truth and they are together long enough to know how to plan everything to balance their work and personal life and only they know when they will be together and when not because it´s planned months ahead.
I think there are many issues with these kinds of opinions regarding their closeting. There was a time when "actions being taken against their will" made sense, and made us believe they really wanted a way to come out. But that kind of stopped making sense over the years. Because in reality, everything we've seen for many years now are the same pattern where both of them want to keep the stunts happening and they use it to their advantage. Whether it is to keep their relationship more private, because they don't want/can come out, marketing purposes... it's going to keep happening because it's probably what makes sense for their careers and personal lives -- like you mentioned, it's not really realistic for the two of them to be together all the time when they have such busy schedules. So I think people need to start getting used to the idea this is their choice.

Movies where the lead actor did their own stunts are always either "the director forced them to stand in freezing water for fourteen hours a day while periodically throwing rocks at their head for the sake of 'authenticity' and they got PTSD and almost died" or "they insisted over the explicit objections of the production's insurance company that they be set on fire for real because it would 'help [them] understand the character's motivation'" – there's absolutely no middle ground.

A 1974 AMC Hornet X was used for the "corkscrew" stunt which was first tested as a computer-simulation (the first of its kind) by Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory. It was then performed as a live-action stunt, successfully filmed in one take.

i think the reason that larries wanted it to end so bad was because she was the first stunt that harries even some (fake) larries really liked …. after olivia everyone sees this woman who is pretty, not white, seems nice, and his age and thought they were endgame - I mean all of the harries on twitter are in denial right now. I think that many larries couldn’t stand the way that the rest of the fandom was idolizing her and that’s why they wanted it to end even more .
Yeah, very possible. It’s super annoying seeing that group gloat. The thing is, people wanting the stunt to end in order to prove something to that group aren’t thinking big picture. It’s so unlikely he’s going to stay publicly single for long and TR was generally so unproblematic. God knows what we’ll get next.

Is anyone else confused by how the box office works for movies and what makes a movie a “flop” because I’m very confused. I adore Fall Guy and really want to see it succeed and it sounds like it’s doing well as it’s been #1 box office spot for two weeks running yet because it didn’t surpass the cost it took to produce the movie on its first weekend it’s a “flop”? Why does everything need to be some mega blockbuster hit to be considered a success? The movie has great reviews, anytime I see anyone talk about it it’s extremely positive, and it’s an incredibly entertaining and uplifting movie. I’m tired. Anyways, rant over. Go see Fall Guy it’s a great movie you won’t regret it!
