i wanna see how kh3 tackles that whole thing because it's so eerily similar to what happens in the manga. and in the manga, he is in so much pain and agony, AND HE'S STILL FIGHTING. ROXAS IS THERE WITH HIM, HIS ONLY COMPANION, and then kh3 just tripped and fell on the glass table.
also, i think about this constantly, i want them to do something with it so bad.
YEA i cant wait to see the rest of kh3 manga chapters and how they handle everything, i especially loved the manga versions for days and kh2 and the way their stories were told - even tho kh3 has a Lot going on that might be hard to show well.. amano's been good at it so far tho so i have faith :]
but yeah that whole thing with Roxas is just . oughh. im not gonna lie even i forgot that Roxas was like. still there with Sora when he perishes until i thought abt it writing those tags but now that ive realized that. why the hell did they not take advantage of that!!!! like ok i get that it was more focused on the destiny trio in the ways i talked abt in the tags but yknow. what happened to "he makes up the difference"?? that wouldve been a great moment for it to shine!! ik they already make an example of it during the Xemnas n Saïx fight but still!!
part of me wishes Roxas couldve have more outward influence on Sora the way Ven did. granted, he arguably had an affect on Sora back in kh2, and while i dont remember if it was canon or even intended, that could be applied to both his appearance (his lighter hair, mostly) and his behavior (his hostility towards the organization members; ive seen this argued both as smth Roxas had influence over and purely based on Soras experiences thus far, and i believe in both personally) but Ven in kh3 was literally able to speak and somewhat act through him. im pretty sure this was meant to show that Ven was fully ready to awaken or smth like that, and that wasnt sonething that was needed for Roxas; hes alright, just needed a body/vessel for himself. but i still think itd be a cool way to express the earlier sentiment. and it wouldnt necessarily have to be Roxas "taking over" either, the manga shows very well how Roxas gives Sora strength from within and that he definitely does make a difference
to be fair tho...... whether that wouldve helped Sora in the moment that he gives in to his despair, im not sure. in kh2, both manga and game, hes in a very different mindset than kh3. in that part of the manga especially, despite thinking everyone (except Roxas) is gone for good, he still has the belief that they can live on within him. and that, plus the literal strength hes getting from Roxas, is keeping him going despite it all. in kh3 his self confidence is beyond fucked, and he truly believes in that moment that hes lost Everything, not just his friends. thats hard to come back from
i wonder if he were to remember that Roxas were still there, if that wouldve helped. whether for comfort in the way that hes not really alone then, or for motive to keep living bc if he dies then Roxas is gone too, or whatever reason, i think it couldve changed something, even if its just a little bit. hell, itd have been great if something like that happened afterwards in the final world. id like to think Roxas had a hand in Sora surviving ..... not sure how but its a nice thought. either way i do wish Sora n Roxas' connection and that moment they have in san fransokyo had more....... More. in kh3. it was a great opportunity that they didnt use/forgot about n im now sad abt it forever

Costume Meta 7x03
so there aren't al l that many costumes to talk about this week from a min cast perspective as pretty much everyone is either in uniform, or a costume they've been wearing for the previous two episodes!
I do have a few things to talk about though so I'm still writing this meta and then I'll be gearing myself up for next week when I have a feeling I'll be up to my eyeballs in new costumes!!
Check theory
The danger around Jared played out - he large bold check signalled that he would be in danger - and he met a grim end!
Pink Theory
I feel like I'm spending every episode playing spot the bright pink and this one came to the pink party as well - we have Corey's dad in this pink sweater and then Corey's two siblings in pink.
Its really interesting to me that we're not seeing this bright pink on any of our mains up to this point (Athena has worn pale pink but not bright pink)- its always been on guest cast (Marisol, Lola, Norman, the mom trapped in the car) and there's a fairly even split between the characters who are in one episode and the multi episode arc characters.
I've already pointed this out but the various traits associated with bright magenta/fuchsia pinks are as follows
Things that are considered positive traits for this shade of pink are; intensity, acceptance, kindness and it's supportive and uplifting nature. It's connected to naive love (as in lust rather than the passionate and enduring love of red) can also be considered a nurturing colour.
Negative traits are; intensity, volatility, arrogant and impatient, irritability and irritating and frustration. it is also said to be a stress inducing colour and is said to be overly emotional and childish.
Stripe Theory
Then we have the stripes - Corey (who I'm convinced is autistic but thats maybe just me projecting!!) is in stripes pretty much the entire time.
The only exception is when the family is on Manzanillo - when he is wearing a watery themed shirt - again separating him from most of the rest of the family - who are all in floral prints (older brother is all in white and not the floral Hawaiian prints but he and his sister (I think they're meant to be twins?!) switch between who is wearing the bold print and who is in a white top throughout the episode)
Mom wears stripes as well - before she gets onto the ship - we see her in this striped coat. Dad and the sister also wear stripes and check scarves, showing that the entire family is in peril, but the largest amount of stripes are saved for the ones who will be in the most danger - which makes total sense from a pattern theory perspective.
An amusing aside that had me giggling - this top is shear perfection when paired with the 118 deciding their new moto is who cares!!😂
Right off to the firehouse to finish up! - I've mentioned before how uniform variation is used to separate out a character where needed (I wrote about it in my 6x09 meta) so here in the firehouse we have two separations going on - Buck and Eddie are the only ones in t-shirts - separating them from everyone else.
In connection to this separating them from the rest of the firehouse crew is that yellow rag Buck is waving around - it feels a little bit like that red one we saw him with several times in season 6 - the season of red flags.
In the same way t hat red cloth was like a red flag, this reads like a yellow flag - now yellow flags are interesting. In shipping terms they were historically a signal of quarantine (this isn' the case any more), and in sports generally they are used to denote hazardous conditions (motor racing and on beaches relating to surf and currents).
But the more interesting yellow flag concept is the yellow flag in a relationship - generally speaking they are indicators of things that could become problematic and turn into red flags if not dealt with or communicated about (yup communication again). Paired with the fact that Buck and Eddie have been 'singled' out through their uniform, its telling us issues ahead (even if we didn't know about them) and that its their dynamic that is going to be tested and that they are going to need to communicate.
Now all those yellow hoses hanging around in the back ground and then one hose physically connecting them - is certainly a choice (remember they could have used one of the non yellow hoses if it wasn't important) and a pretty loud one. I go on and on about yellow lines of communication, a lot, and I have in my metas for this season so far, but here we have another example of yellow ropes.. lines, cables etc.
The really really key thing here is that we haven't actually seen Buck and Eddie connected by a yellow anything since the end of season 3 and having not seen them connected with a yellow anything since season 3 - when their respective yellow lines got cut/burnt. This one here is about , a yellow line of communication being re-established. What adds to this is the directorial choices - the yellow flag is waves around before they connect themselves with a yellow line (hose) - as a piece of directorial foreshadowing I am in love - its telling us the Buck is the one who is the creator of the yellow flags (read his jealousy) and he is the one with the yellow rag (in the same way he was the one with the red rag previously), but that it will ultimately lead to Buck and Eddie reconnecting after those flags are raised and dealt with. I cannot stress enough the importance of that yellow line between them being reconnected - it really speaks of their communication improving and that we'll see them operating on a level we haven't seen before - they cut their yellow lines at the time when Eddie was changing his will, and whilst they have spoken on important topics etc since then, there has always been something in between them - they haven't had a proper full cards on the table conversation. My feeling is that we might be about to get that (especially combined with what we know from what Oliver and Ryan have teased!)
Then there is Chimney who is separated from everyone else by virtue of being the only one in a long sleeved shirt. If you watch the scene through, and pay attentiion to the background, you'll see all the firefighters in either short sleeve shirts or wearing bomber jackets. there is one exception - a guy carrying a medical bag who I'm pretty sure is meant to be a representaion of Hen's reinstatment to the 118 as he crosses Chim at the time Chim announces Hen has been reinstated!

Rain code thoughts/theories/headcanons as of the start of chapter 5
this is literally just an unorganized list of anything i went 'omg what if??!?' during the game and i NEED to get this out somewhere
spoilers of course ;P
i am gonna sound like a maniac but THE MEAT BUNS?? i feel that there is something of with them. Its been stated multiple times that everyone in kanai ward LOVES the meat buns there, kurumi stating that she has one at least every other day and feels instinctively drawn to them?? whats up with that?
makoto and yuma are totally connected in some way, not completely sure how: are they blood related?, is one a humonculus of the other? idk but there is definitely something between them. Makotos been acting VERY familiar with yuma and in the first meeting said 'hmm, so thats my...' WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT SIR
on the theme of makoto - hes extremely suspect, yes a lukewarm take i know. but he has stated multiple times that he loves this city and he loves the people. this is important because of course if the homonculi are made from/using the people of kanai ward he wouldnt think of them as immortal monsters. He only said that there were no immortal monsters in the city, never explicitly stated no homnoculi
in addition what happened three years ago?? its when the rain started, makoto became ceo, huesca was moved from his previous project onto another one and alot of other things. At this point i think makoto has something to do with this. I cant remember what exactly happened but i believe he said he came to kanai ward three years ago as well and then shit got real. relating to this i think the 'small achievement' that makoto mentioned was totally relating to the rain
the restricted area is totally where the homonculous stuff is happening. the body depository definitely is where they do experiments for it. Though i think there is some truth in the whole 'the rain and humidity makes the bodies rot quick' i do also believe its a way for whoever is making the homonculos experiments [totally makoto in someway] to gain access to a lot of corpses
if makoto is the evil evil guy he most likely is he is helping the detectives, specially yuma, and stringing them along cause he wants to see if they can solve al these mysteries that kanai ward has.
i also have a hunch that makoto set up yomi to be the unhinged monster that he became so he can postision himself as the sane alternative, and solidify his status as the ceo and leader of amaterasu corp - getting rid of all competition [specially since martina has also stepped down]. This is mainly because yomi always referred to makoto as looking down on the people from up high - yomi probably feels as if makoto got handed the ceo position whilst he had to work his way up and makoto probably manipulated those feelings.

hello, sorry if this is hard to read i am having some trouble at the moment but i had a question and your blog has been very helpful to me in the past so i figured i would try?
im almost definitely schizophrenic (as in my doctor's have said this and just want to do some extra clarifying testing this week before providing the diagnosis. either way it is guaranteed i have a psychotic condition) and have been experiencing a ramp up in symptoms laately, many of which i am only barely able to convince myself are not real, because of my treatment and previous severe episode. the issue is that ive just woken up and i had a dream that was terribly related to what i have been experiencing in the day, and its throwing me off, because i dont know if thats possible in schizophrenia which makes it hard to rationalize that it isnt real.
i wont go into it extensively because it could cause issues for people (content warning for some mentions of unreality here to clarify what happened, its only this paragraph!) but i have been experiencing voices belonging to tvs in my head, and a lot of existential worry on if anything is real, if im awake, etc. last night i had a dream with the same tv voices as a major theme, and at the end of my dream a character acknowledged i was dreaming, and i had a false awakening too. this has all thrown me for a loop because since i dont know if the disorder can impact dreams, it makes everything hold so much more weight, and it is very distressing???
i am mostly just wondering if its possible for the disorder to impact dreams or cause you to have dreams related to hallucinations and delusions. i think i had some stuff similar to this last year in my last active episode, but its incredibly hard to remember.
im sorry for bothering and i hope this ask doesnt cause you any issues, i would just really like to know if it is possible for the disorder to show up in dreams like this. thank you for your blog and i hope youre having a very good day, your work is so appreciated and has brought me immense comfort while im being diagnosed
I think a psychotic episode can definitely impact your dreams. For most people (nonpsychotics included) dreams can feel weird, can be separate from reality, and can have you questioning things when you're finally awake. So it makes sense to me that someone who is already struggling with reality in their waking life would be even more impacted by these types of dreams.
Also for me when I was deep in my psychosis before treatment, everything in reality, and in my psychosis was always connected in strange ways. I'd find meaning in every little thing and connect it to a bigger picture that only existed inside my mind. And dreams played into this as well. Only after years of medication and therapy, I can see that things just sort of happen, and coincidences happen, and not everything is part of this bigger picture that revolves around me. I don't expect everyone to come to this conclusion on their own or even ever, but for me some very helpful mantras have been "shit happens", "it's not that deep" and "this is just the chemicals in my brain firing off, it means nothing".
Also if a dream, or the aftermath of a dream is distressing, it's totally valid to care for yourself after as if something distressing in your waking life happened. Practice your coping skills, do things that bring you comfort, rest and take care of yourself. Dreams being distressing is no joke.

Hi! Your tags on the post about Buck going sober are very relatable! I'm also someone who just doesn't drink without a previous reason making my decision. It would be really cool & refreshing to see that. I think nowerdays it seems to be a lot more "socially acceptable" (ugh that thats a thought for personal choice!) To not drink just because or without having to explain or be pushed about it, which is really great! Anyways, long story short its interesting & basically a "same!" to your tags 😅
hi anon, thank you!!!!! and yeah re: the socially acceptable comment, i think it goes hand in hand with the standard-but-incorrect assumption of “a sober person is sober because they or a family member is an addict”. so it was more taboo to mention sobriety because it would imply this history. we’re getting to a point now, at least where i am, that this immediate connection is slowly dissipating so it’s more of a “no thanks i don’t drink/i don’t want to drink now” vs “here’s a very personal part of my backstory”.
i haven’t looked into this myself (and i imagine covid kinda skews these values a little bc parties weren’t a thing for a few years) but gen z is shaping up to be the most sober generation. i don’t know if this is a chicken-egg situation—are we more sober bc there’s less stigma or is there less stigma bc we’re more sober—but either way i think seeing that choice made intentionally in media would be really good to see. hell, in my tags i said i was sober (there’s more nuance to it but it works for this instance) but i don’t say that in real life. instead, i just get non alcoholic drinks when asked. this is mostly still because saying you don’t drink still feels a bit like a big reveal and i think seeing a similar situation on a large scale show might help normalize it a little more.

no i mean im QUITE happy youre willing to chitchat about this and having a background like you mentioned is definitely a bonus point. and i understand you have life outside of social media so i dont expect fast replies or a reply at all.
answering your question, i would say…. ‘trad feminine’ maybe means having female characteristics? *typical* bio female stuff, i mean. the ability to get pregnant, to have vagina, etc. (yeah i know not everybody can or wants to be pregnant & not everybody who has a vag is a woman etc.). however almost everybody knows how a person with female characteristics or a typical woman looks like. of course its conditioned, like gender, since im sure a …say what… a 1-2 year old wouldnt know what a female is and wouldnt even give a shit about it. so back to the point, being pregnant = feminine but feminine =/= woman. one can be/have any gender, since thats just another term without concrete meaning…?
you know what. im not sure id like it if feminine/mascule would have a concrete definition. i sure as fuck dont undertsand any of this gender stuff. like, literally, nothing. why is it here, why do we need it, why does someone feel connected to it, how is it created, why cant we get rid of it, why is it meaningless…
Sorry for the delay. I had a pretty busy weekend. But I have been thinking a lot about this. And having this conversation with you has been helpful to me because I'm working on a personal project that touches on some of these things, so chatting about this is allowing me to organize my thoughts in a more coherent way.
Anyway.... I think this is where a lot of people get caught up talking past each other in discussions of what is feminine or masculine. Because, to me, what you're describing as traditionally feminine are things that I describe wholly as aspects of biological sex that exist outside of having any sort of gender expression. To describe something as feminine is to say something is expressing a gender. A feminine gender expression might mean wearing a skirt or wearing makeup (both of which are only feminine in our current understanding of gender and at previous points in history have been masculine or gender neutral). But aspects of gender expression exist outside of a person's gender or their biological sex and, because none of these categories are strict binaries, a person can have labels that to normative society appear to contradict. Which, I think, is how you and I have ended up in conflict. Because you are drawing a line that connects female to feminine. But that is an arbitrary line. There are plenty of female people who are not feminine and would have their feathers ruffled at someone referring to them as such. I'm not even talking about trans people who were assigned female at birth. My initial thought was butches. I've known plenty of butch female women who completely rejected the feminine. They did not want to be labelled feminine. So, by connecting anything female to anything feminine, there would be a coercive assignment of feminine to people who flat out reject the label.
Your line connecting pregnancy to the feminine is one that is so common in society and it is that connection that was my main source of discomfort in and around pregnancy. But nothing relating to gender, gender expression, even sex categories, actually mean anything. All of it is socially constructed. And all social constructions mean something different at various points in history and will, no doubt, mean something different in the future. So, since anything can be anything. Why must pregnancy be feminine and why must feminine be female? There's no real answer. Just like there's no real answer to any of the questions you end your ask with. Things just are how they are or they're not, depending on the angle that view them or even the way you feel that day. And I think once I personally came to grips with that, it made it easier to just vibe with my identity. It still hurts when people try to ascribe some sort of sex or gender category onto me based on their own ways of viewing those categories. But I'm no longer trying to fit myself into boxes that don't make sense.

ok wait. i think i might be onto something here. i think i know why queen constantly ignoring ralsei is highlighted so much.
but to explain that i think i need to first explain the thought process that led me here, bc otherwise i sound insane. but i might sound a little insane getting there so--bear with me here
so, first off, ralsei is FULL of metaphors for kris.
to list a few: feeling abandoned and alone in a tiny town, waiting for someone to arrive to give them a feeling of purpose either in the form of a prophecy or a vacation, kris' adoration of asriel manifesting as wanting to be like him as much as possible, and ofc how ralsei just...looks like the other dreemurrs but with red/pink horns. he doesn't have to be their old headband to be a pretty clear parallel to them.
ok im putting the rest of this under the cut bc WOW it gets long from here
so, with the kris->ralsei parallel down, let's move to a similar topic rq
by the time dr takes place, toriel is smothering kris in attention in the aftermath of her divorce and asriel's departure to college. she says herself that she feels lonely with only the two of them at home:
and the only way she thinks she can bond with kris is through their shared memories of the family that tied them together.
queen reflects that in a more cartoonish and exaggerated way, like with her only trying to have a truce with kris once she knows the two of them are alone, or how she tries to use reminiscing on the arcade game in the cyber field to bring them closer. and she isn't lonely in the sense she's alone, she thinks no one understands her or what she's doing, and thus, is emotionally alone.
kris does seem to genuinely want to connect with queen, too, even making a move towards the smaller arcade cabinet without our input.
and it goes hand-in-hand w/ toriel's hinted-at alcohol abuse how queen only becomes visibly drunk once, in a scene where only kris is around.
so, let's take all of this a step further. if queen's behavior towards kris is indicative of how toriel treats kris now, and ralsei is a parallel to kris, i don't think it's a far leap to assume queen just straight up forgetting ralsei exists is how toriel used to treat kris, before asriel and asgore left and she had no one else in the family to turn to.
and i dont think this is malicious on any end! just to be clear!
queen seems to not have any ill will towards ralsei. like at all. she doesn't hurt him or try to control him after realizing she doesn't have a room for him.
but her immediate next action after realizing that she didn't know what to do with him was...to shove the responsibility of taking care of ralsei onto swatch/the swatchlings, the other major power(s) of the mansion.
and in this fantasy world where she's the villain, yeah, thats a good thing! but in a less literal sense, she put the 'burden' of taking care of him on someone else because she's too busy thinking about and accommodating for the lightners (or, asriel) to properly pay attention to ralsei. she doesn't know enough about him to give him anything he wants.
then, in her giga fight, queen briefly mentions ralsei (most likely to try and appeal to him) but can't even remember his name.
and ralsei can't find anything to say about queen in his toast besides how she shunted him into his role as a servant.
they're both content having their only common ground be their care for the lightners (or, the other dreemurrs) and neither really make a move to make their relation deeper than surface-level.
it's played for laughs but if this is genuinely the connection we're supposed to draw it's...sad.
and, obviously if this is meant to be a parallel to toriel's previous behavior, it probably wasn't as cartoonish as queen displays it, but the general idea it's giving is sad as hell, both for what it means for ralsei and for what it means for kris.
and if ralsei has memories of neglect alongside his whole being alone all his life thing....no wonder he's clingy.
tl;dr toriel is possibly making up for her previous neglect and ralsei is the way this is illustrated

spoilers for deltarune like woah. this wont be kris focused just random thoughts on everything. thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk
not that many thoughts for this chapter tbh! EDIT LOL: this was a lie i have a lot of thoughts
-just in general i feel like the player isn't the only one controlling kris... like yes the player forced kris to do what happened in the snowgrave route but AT THE SAME TIME idk it feels like there's someone else too. just because of the terrifying voice i suppose. and also the jerky movement kris does every time they get their soul out? unless there's another reason for it... maybe getting your soul out means you walk weird lol
-BUT ALSO i feel like kris is 100% in control when they create fountains. idk it just makes sense kris would create them. to create another world, a better world, A WORLD WHERE THEIR BROTHER IS HERE PERHAPS? i do wonder why they get their soul out then though. i'm all for it sweetie! do whatever! i support you!

-i threw away the ball of junk (which i already tried in ch1) and this time the game was like "ARE YOU SURE BC THIS IS A BAD IDEA" and kris felt bitter :'( (it deletes all your items in the dark world)
-i uh fucked up and skipped the susie+noelle scene bc listen last time ralsei mentionned seeing what susie is doing we missed some PRIMO LORE. turns out it just makes you skip the scene and you dont get anything new. welp
-speaking of ralsei well you know. he exists. but im stuck on him going "i just wonder what being ralsei-like even is...?" ralsei my dude there's so much i could say about this. do you feel like you can't be ralsei-like because you feel like you have to be asriel-like

-to go back to kris it's still so interesting to figure out who they are based on how they act/people mention them. like kris shaking the ferris wheel car? yeah makes sense i can imagine a pranking kid do this. kris' dance? yeah thats a little silly but i can buy it. doing cool anime poses? well i dunno this doesnt line up PERFECTLY but sure. BUT EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN SNOWGRAVE... especially >proceed like that is such a weird thing that i can't imagine them doing, but i can't completely see the "player" doing either (compare with going to sans -which kris doesnt know- and going "SANS!" because of course the player would know sans), like THATS one of the reasons i feel like there's someone else in there. the weird robotic merciless actions. if im going super meta it feels like there'd be someone else like writing the choices into existence for us to pick you know? gaster probably? god i need to read more gaster theories i completely sidestepped the gaster shit bc i wasnt interested. anyway just spitballing

Botw has good world building too, but each race felt kinda,,, isolated? I absolutely love the different architecture and vibe each town has (and all the the weapons too) but ghhh yea everyone felt so separated. As far as I can remember, we don’t see tooo much of the races interacting with each other? Now that I’m typing that out maybe that’s to be expected because of the calamity but KLSJDKJFD ANYWAYS THIS IS ABOUT TP
The world feels nice and alive, love how populated everything is

but aaaa would have been nice to see them in at least a couple of other places. I think it would have really added to the “congrats Link!! You’re restoring peace to Hyrule” feeling you get from seeing the Gorons hanging out in Kakariko and Castle Town

Love Midna’s theme and how they referenced the dark world theme from ALttP (I remember trying to learn the dark world theme on the piano and doing the Leonardo DiCaprio point meme at the little jingle I recognized from Midna’s theme)
Hyrule field theme SLAPS.
Apparently references a couple of the other over-world themes from the previous zelda games (I got this from 8-bit Music theory’s video on the over-world zelda themes, he talks about TP at around 11:40 but def recommend watching the whole video if you’re into music analysis stuff)
So there’s this bit of the Hyrule Field theme, I don’t know the official name for it but I remember seeing somewhere it being called the “at an advantage theme” since yeah, you hear it during the boss music whenever you expose their weak points. FUCKINGGG LOVE THAT. Didn’t notice it during my first playthrough, but hearing it during my second was like a little easter egg for my ears every time :)

Literally, the first time I listened to those I just,,,, plugged in my headphones, volume 100, layed on the floor/against my desk and silently vibed. I don’t know what the hell it is, but those two just fit so well with TP?? I still avoid listening to them nowadays cause if I DO I definitely will get overwhelmed with the “god I love this game so FUCKING MUCH” kind of feels.

VERY GOOD. IT’s like 10 minutes long and GOD do I love every single second of it. It doesn’t have the same energy as the skyward sword staff roll or the orchestra pieces but GOD does it hit good??
Nice and calm after that big exciting adventure. Maybe it would have been more fun or emotional to have a higher energy piece but it was really nice getting to sit back and watch the camera fly around Hyrule. Seeing like, the Gorons and the Zoras having a good time, the kids returning to Ordon? GOOD SHIT.
and AAAAA that end, when you hear the main Zelda theme and see Link riding off out of Faron woods on Epona… good shit. It gets you thinking, where the hell is he going? What is he doing? Off ot do more adventuring? Going to help out the resistance or something? Going to help Zelda? Or maybe he’s trying to figure out a way to restore the mirror of twilight? Whoooo knows.
hhHHHHhhh it’s just that final reminder that YES!!! YOU JUST PLAYED A ZELDA GAME. JUST ANOTHER STORY APART OF THE WHOLE EPIC OF THE ZELDA SERIES AS A WHOLE
I also want to acknowledge the instrument/samples they used for all the twili stuff.
They’re all just so unique and contrast SO well with the rest of the TP OST. LIKE FUCK!! Anytime I hear the screech from the Twilit Kargarok? Sends a shiver down my spine. I associate those sounds SO strongly with the twili realm. (Like, the same way you associate the BSHEWW VVWWMMM sounds with light sabers)

Conner Kent in Suicide Squad/the Infinite Frontier era: wtf is going on
Alright lads hello I just need to type out some theories/thoughts about what’s going on with my boy Kon right now. This is more for myself than anything else (just trying to organize my thoughts) but since some of y’all like to hear me talk about comics (and some of this discussion has already been happenin in my inbox) I figured i’d format it and put it on here too! its like 4k words and written over the last few days mostly at 3am. sorry <3
this is basically just me going like
Also fair warning that like, I can be wrong and misinterpret things just as much as anyone else can, like I use panels to support why I think what I do but a lot of this stuff is subjective/complicated to understand so like... in general somethings should be taken with a grain of salt, especially because exactly what changes to the universe were made by Death Metal/Infinite Frontier haven’t been super super clearly defined yet. Also sometimes comic writers make the most random nonsensical shit happen, so I as a fan am also allowed to theorize about random nonsensical shit.
But to start: let’s backtrack!
Many months ago when Infinite Frontier was first announced they dropped some promotional art, and I remember being a little confused because. Well:

Notice how Conner is back to his Teen Titans 2003 look up top, but in his YJ 2019 look at the bottom? This seemed weird to me! But then they announced that Conner would be part of the Suicide Squad ongoing title, in the T-shirt look, so I wrote this discrepancy off in my brain as ‘oh I guess that cover was just the last hurrah for punk Kon’ and moved on with life.
In Suicide Squad right away we learn he’s very much so there against his will:

Which corroborates more or less what we were also shown in Future State: Suicide Squad, although admittedly it tells... a slightly different version of the events. When I first saw both of these together I just chalked it up to being a bit inaccurate as it’s shown as a memory in Future State:

Issue 2 we saw him in action with the Squad, trying to do his best to still be a hero despite the team, but things get a little more interesting in the following issue. It starts off with an account of his history

This page gave me a few immediate red flags, mostly minor things that had to do with coloring, so more irl problems than things to take seriously in-universe (Kon’s pants are the wrong color in the first Superboy shot, and Bart’s Impulse costume is in Kid Flash colors instead of the correct Impulse ones) but then also it just bugged me the phrasing “he joined Young Justice” when he was a founder of the team, he didn’t join it he made it with Tim and Bart.
But again, chalked that stuff up to just.... writers/artists being inconsistent/unaware of things that they should be aware of, or even Nocturna just not being specific with details. But it did still strike me as a little odd considering the very accurate use of villains in those same shots, Scavenger who was a reoccurring bad guy from Kon’s solo days and showed up basically nowhere else (even holding the Spear of Lono and everything!) and Billy/Harm (Greta’s brother) from Young Justice.
But then a few pages later we got this:

Which is interesting. My first instinct was to think he’s being drugged w kryptonite or something thats leaving him hazy/out of it, but my thoughts on that have kinda changed, we’ll get there in a bit. But in general the context of ‘something’s wrong’ made the slight discrepancies on some details of his own history make more sense.
I also want to then bring up the next part to this story, the crossover issue in Teen Titans Academy.

So a few things. Does it feel weird to anyone else that Conner Kent, a known previous Titan who literally has a framed picture of himself in a case there, would set off alarm sensors like that? Wouldn’t he be... recognized as a Titan not an intruder by their sensors? Interesting! Anyways.
He looks really pained looking at that picture, and sad, and almost frustrated, which ya know makes sense and hurts my heart because he misses them! He misses his friends and being happy.
But, importantly for a criticism I wanna make thats less theory related and more just me bein annoyed at Tim Sheridan, that’s a picture of Conner. Right there. That’s Superboy, on display at Teen Titans Academy, so the people who frequent this building would know who he is and what he looks like and be able to recognize him, he’s even in the same outfit and everything. Alinta recognized him at the end of Suicide Squad #3.
So why does only one person during this big fight then comment on his presence?? Why doesn’t it get a bigger reaction???

And after the fight we don’t see any on panel moment of Wallace going up to the staff Titans (who weren’t present for the fight) and saying like “HEY NIGHTWING UHHH SUPERBOY WAS WITH THE SUICIDE SQUAD?” we just see him talking with his friends upset about Crush leaving. We see Alinta talking to them but we don’t see the exact dialogue. So I do just wanna take the writer by the shoulders and shake him a little bit and ask WHY because that just feels like... something you’d wanna address on panel! This is like the first time since joining the squad that Kon’s at all in contact with people from his life before Waller got involved, I feel like not addressing those people’s reactions to it/not discussing it at least a little bit on panel (especially when Conner CAME UP in the previous TTA issue, Dick brought him up and everything!!!) is a really odd choice. Maybe it’ll happen next issue and i’m just impatient, but who knows. Anyways, gripes with Sheridan aside, lets move on.
I wanna bring up how Conner... doesn’t really respond to Wallace’s question? At all? Except to just fight him off, not even an attempt at a ‘Sorry’ or anything? (the ‘Ha! That all you got?!’ seems to be coming from Culebra not Conner, although the placement of the bubble is vague enough it could be that it was supposed to be Conner? but it seems more like what she’d say, especially as she’s grabbing Emiko like that) That just feels weird. It feels off. In general he speaks so little in Suicide Squad #3 and this issue. Tbh it almost feels like he doesn’t really recognize Wallace which I mean I suppose they never exactly met (they would have theoretically during Death Metal, basically all past/present Titans were together for a while during that), but Kon’s been back in existing long enough he’d have a sense of who current heroes are anyways.
But right, so, lots of little things that feel weird... that gets us caught up to the most recently released comics... but in this household we look at solicits as they drop. Which gives us some info on what’s coming up a few months ahead of time, albeit without full context obviously. Issues #4 and #5 don’t mention Conner in their descriptions or show him on the covers at all, because there’s just other plot things going on, so ya know seems things will be quiet for him for a bit.
But then we got the August solicitations and oh BOY it’s a doozey for him! And some things start to kinda connect perhaps!
I want to just take a moment to look at that specific wording. “The teen calling himself Conner Kent” I’m probably reading too much into it but that feels deliberate, like why wouldn’t you just say ‘Conner Kent’? Usually these kinds of descriptions are trying to keep a low word count, not add in extra words that don’t need to be there. It makes it feel like that’s a name he’s using that... doesn’t actually belong to him.
So the theory I want to propose (that has been floating around already) is that based on these covers and the description, and how the Conner we’ve been seeing in Suicide Squad apparently talks about his own personal history like he’s ‘reading a wikipedia entry’ and had little response to people he should be aware of like Wallace and apparently isn’t recognized as a Titan through a bio-scan and also bearing in mind those initial promo arts with two separate looks at the same time for him... I think we're looking at a situation where the Conner in Suicide Squad so far has actually been a clone of original Conner (like... like he’s Match 2.0 or somethin) the whole time, that’s just not aware he’s not the original.
Now that’s the base theory I wanna work with and build off of, but there’s MANY different directions that could go in/ways that could work.
For example, one idea is that the Conner we saw in #1 who was chained up is the original Conner, and he’s been being cloned and held captive, so everything else with Conner in Suicide Squad so far has been this Match 2.0
Another idea could be the original Conner in #1 is also the Conner in #2 who Waller had then commented wasn’t ready during the mission in Arkham and had zapped with a lil Kryptonite, and after that moment she took him off the field because his spirit hadn’t been broken enough to be obedient (as he was a lot quieter in Issue #3 & the TTA crossover compared to #2, and #3 is when the Nocturna thing with the history happened)
Or it could even be original Conner in #1, then in #2 was one clone that wasn’t ‘ready’ that after that point she stopped using him, and switched to a diff clone for #3, because like that first cover did show a LOT of clones. That could be more just ‘artistic interpretation’ or something, covers sometimes do exaggerate/mislead, but it also could indicate we’re looking at a lot of clones.

With all of those in mind I also wanna bring up this little bit from Future State Suicide Squad:

Again Future State is a ‘possible future’ so stuff from it isn’t set in stone, but the idea of ‘she still has his YJ 2019 outfit somewhere’ makes me think it could be something along the lines of like, Clone!Conner finds original Conner and frees him and he gets back his YJ outfit, which could lead to like the imagery on that variant cover/the idea from my very first part of this post where I was talking about Kon being shown in both outfits in different places.
Alternatively entirely from all that, another option is that she maybe got ahold of what was needed to clone Kon, but doesn’t even have the original Kon in her possession. (again with the Future State thing, she could be lying since elsewhere in Future State we did also see a copy of YJ 2019 Kon’s costume in one of the Jon-focused Future State comics in a display case 🤷♂️) Which could also lead to that confrontation on the variant cover & the promo art thing... and could also explain why we have seen nothing about anyone looking for him, because in that sort of scenario he wouldn’t have even been missing in the first place.
There’s a lot of possibilities! It’s still too early to solidly know anything, but I feel pretty confident we’re entering another cloning related plot with our Clone Boy so it’s... ya know. Clone time. On the one hand it’s annoying because god we have done clone/multiple Kons plots before. We’ve done them so much.
BUT on the other hand, I think it could be interesting to use this situation to tie into some older stuff from pre-reboot that I can see some connections to, because due to Infinite Frontier altering the world and people’s memories it’s all technically fair game storytelling-wise again (and like, the use of Scavenger specifically in that flashback way above, who’s not a super well known villain in general, makes me think maaaaybe the writer did do some of their Kon homework)
Something also just dawned on me that i’m not quite sure what it means but still is worth mentioning: The Conner here in Suicide Squad is back in his Teen Titans Vol. 3 outfit, and his history as he tells it stops during Teen Titans Vol. 3. And doesn’t... mention when he died? It feels like it... stopped before that, because like I feel if he was telling his life history (even the wiki version LMAO) the part where he died and came back would be pretty important to bring up?? And Nocturna specifically says that he didn’t explain how that stuff from TT Vol. 3 then led to him in his current situation. That’s a pretty big gap (like uhhh everything from resurrection until he got lost on Gemworld + all the rest of the Young Justice 2019 stuff?) So like.. there could be something funky going on here that has to do with that.
Similarly when he flashes back in Future State: Suicide Squad to his past it also goes right from Teen Titans Vol. 3 to the current Suicide Squad run? Like I get it’s one page so they can’t show that much, but the fact that there’s now two places that flash back to that same specific time period and nothing past it until the Suicide Squad feels just... noticeable! Not concretely indicative of something, but noteworthy.

Like...this almost has me thinking maybe it could be something where like, they tampered with his dead body and cloned from that? BECAUSE, for those of you who may not be familiar with how Kon’s resurrection (during Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds) worked, when he came back there was time travel involved! He was brought back to life in the future (like. Legion of Superheroes era) because it was a process that took that thousand or so years to work/heal him (essentially because of his hybrid dna the process that healed Clark when he had died back in Death of Superman/Reign of the Supermen in the 90s just took a lot longer, but its the same Kryptonian healing chamber thing) meaning when he came back to the present alive again, his dead body was still also in the present just in it’s process of healing. Meaning especially if we’re bringing back stuff from before the reboot, Kon likely has his dead body just vibing out there while he’s goin around living life 🤷♂️
SO them doing something related to that could explain the choice to put him back in the T-shirt (since thats what he wore in the era his brain would be caught up to if we’re relating this to when he died) and why he’d recognize himself in a group photo with Bart, Cassie and Tim but maybe not someone like Wallace who didn’t exist back then. I don’t know, this branch of thought is still half baked. Will maybe come back and elaborate on this later. But I’m now really thinking there might be a connection to the early Teen Titans Vol. 3 era specifically because of it being referenced twice in stuff with this Suicide Squad.
ANYWAYS moving on, this is probably a shot in the dark and I only thought of it because I just was reading 90′s Superboy, but right away when thinking about ‘Amanda Waller’ and ‘Cloning Kon’ I was reminded of some stuff about the circumstances around the first clone that was made of Conner: Match.

Match was created by an organization called ‘The Agenda’, that was after a while primarily under the control of The Contessa, Lex Luthor’s ex-wife, aided by Amanda Spence who had a personal grudge against Kon bc her dad was Paul Westfield the guy Kon was originally cloned from (before the Lex/Clark retcon). They were the big bad guys of an arc called The Evil Factory in Superboy (where Cadmus personnel got replaced with clones) which also then tied into the Sins of Youth event over in Young Justice (Remember how Match was posing as Superboy for a while there? yeah). After those plot lines finished the Agenda was pretty defeated (Amanda Spence was still out there and came back later but still) and... who got their hands on the remaining Agenda tech?

Why none other than Amanda Waller herself!
If they re-canonized pieces of this (which also tied into Young Justice which ya know, YJ 2019 was all about re-establishing stuff from YJ even before Death Metal happened soooo) it would totally make sense for Waller to have complete access to the exact technology used to clone Conner before.
Now, a thing to consider here though is what happened to Kon after he’d been cloned that first time, where his DNA got all destabilized by the process (and he needed to go through a procedure with Roxy as a genetic template to keep him together, which was how he got stuck at age 16 for a while). This was something where he was fine for a period of time before the side effects began to kick in. Now, I think it’s worth mentioning that was also back in the days where he was not yet Lex & Clark’s clone, but still Paul Westfield’s. So there could easily be a ‘now that certain Kryptonian genes have kicked in as he got his newer powers it doesn’t destabilize him the same way’ reasoning or something along those lines to avoid this problem. Alternatively, it could be an interesting thing to embrace rather than retcon away, especially if we’ve been seeing Clone Conner in action and Original Conner hasn’t been in our focus, things could be wrong with him that we just don’t know about.
Another branch of thinking that I think is even MORE a shot in the dark but could be interesting (or again even related to what I just said, could be a combo of things) is if this somehow ended up related to those clones that were reverse engineered from the remains of Match from the very end of Teen Titans Vol. 3

But like... idk man if Waller got her hands on those corpses or even just the data from Dr. Caligan that he extracted from Match to make them... that could also be a potential way to make some new Conner clones, and that could be why the bio-scan thing at Titans Tower wouldn’t work properly because of the thing he says above about it not being a “complete match’
One thing I don’t think is the case, but has been brought up to me, is stuff with New 52 Kon. I’ve talked extensively about New 52 Kon in recent weeks because I read through all his stuff, but the thing that makes me shy away from him being part of this situation is the fact that... he’s not interchangeable with Kon the way I think some people think he is. He wouldn’t visually be recognized as Original Kon because he is literally on a genetic level a separate person. They’d prob look related, sure, like they’d pass for brothers because they both have Clark’s DNA, but New 52 Kon has Lois’ DNA and Original Kon has Lex’s. New 52 Kon would likely look more like Jon, rather than Kon. Lois specifically commented in an Action Comics issue that Kon had some resemblance to Lex, even. So like, things like Wallace recognizing him or him looking at his own matching reflection alongside the group picture at the Tower... those wouldn’t happen the same way if this was New 52 Kon.
Now I think it coooould theoretically be possible for Waller to have gotten her hands on that future N.O.W.H.E.R.E. cloning tech that had been used to make New 52 Kon, like I wouldn’t rule that out. Because she knows where the remains of their bases are as shown in Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016) #16-17, and like, Harvest is dead so she could easily just send teams out there to gather shit if she wanted.
Onto some other things I don’t think are actually related but that I was reminded of/wanted to address:
I feel i’d be a bad timkon fan if during all of this discussion of past stories with cloning Kon I didn’t even bring up Tim’s cloning attempt stuff, but I think it would ultimately be unrelated. His tech was stolen from Luthor, and his attempts didn’t succeed because he was trying to build from scratch without Cadmus’ the data about how they altered the DNA from the original process.

Then that initial cover for the annual really reminded me of part of the Hollow Men story from Superboy Vol. 5 just with like... Kon in a room full of copies of himself. I don’t think this story would be related either because it was more magic Tannarak stuff rather than regular cloning, but ya know. It’s the imagery.

In general I don’t think we’re EVER gonna see Black Zero or any of these multiverse Superboys again LMAO.
To try to sum up all of this in a way that might make sense here’s kinda a... flowchart of some of my main ideas for what the cloning situation could be/how the logic could work. Again this is borrowing stuff from across continuities because Infinite Frontier means theoretically anything’s fair game. (Also I don’t think I mentioned this earlier but I do mention it in the chart, but I think it’s also reasonable that Waller could get her hands on Cadmus tech if Cadmus is like properly made canon again. She just has funky government connections!)
Also I just now thought of this now several hours after I already made the chart and I don’t wanna remake it so sorry not incorporating it there but I remembered there was also that bit during House of Kent where Clark took Kon to the Hall of Justice and they were running some tests on him, so I’m thinking it’s also possible Waller got ahold of that data/that might be how she found out about Kon in the first place for this timeline. And they indicated that there was something wrong with him there, where he might eventually lose his powers or something, so maybe she tried to do cloning stuff to be able to have a copy of Superboy in his prime or something??? before that started kicking in. I don’t know, just more things to consider:

Magical Dreams (NiGHTS into Dreams Fanfic)
Quick little oneshot focusing on NiGHTS and Reala, based on a dream i had last night!
(Been a good long while since i’ve written anything, so it’s pretty rough but regardless i hope you enjoy!)

Reala was sulking.
It was all he had been doing for the past who knows how long. At least, ever since Wizeman had been killed by NiGHTS and those two brats.
After his last battle with NiGHTS Reala had been knocked out for a good long while. By the time he awoke, he realised he could no longer sense his master. Unlike the time before, ten years prior when NiGHTS had simply weakened Wizeman and Reala had still been able sense the faint connection he had to his master.
Not this time.
Reala didn't know how long he had spent searching, around the castle, around Nightmare, looking for a sign, that faint tugging on his core when the master summoned him. But there had been nothing.
Well... almost nothing.
He had found something. Something familiar, though not related to Wizeman. At least not directly.
When Reala first sensed it he thought he had found his master, which admittedly had given him very mixed feelings at the time. Instead what he found locked away in a chest hidden within the confines of his masters private room was a blue ideya shard, similar in shape and size to the red one NiGHTS bore on his chest.
Reala recognised it as his own ideya core. After NiGHTS betrayal many years prior, Wizeman had felt it was necessary to remove and hold onto the Ideya cores of his remaining First Level's to ensure their loyalty.
While they could survive with them removed, (so long as they remained in the dream world the connection would always be there) it left them entirely at the mercy of Wizeman.
Should they displease him or give him reason to believe they had turned traitor, all Wizeman would had had to do is crush the crystal in his hand and that would be the end of them.
Reala shuddered, his hand ghosting over the crystal that now sat firmly against his chest, over the spot where the blue diamond pattern was. He had felt a great sense of relief and disappointment upon finding it. Disappointment because he had not found his master, and relief because he was finally reunited with his life source. His heart his... Soul.
He sighed, hand lowering back to his side, as he hovered inside his cage which sat in the dark barren wasteland that was the Nightmare realm.
After Wizeman's first defeat all those years ago, Reala had been given a false core, a crystal core encased in gold that was connected directly to master Wizeman, so he could ensure complete and utter control over Reala. He'd never admitted it, not out loud nor inwardly even if he could help it, but the false core felt horribly invasive. And terrifying.
It was however his strongest link to his master, and upon waking up and finding its shattered remains across his chest, and the persona broken in two beside him at that point he knew.
Even so he had chosen to search, though he no longer knew the reason why he did so. Loyalty? Respect? Fear?
Not that it mattered anymore. He found absolutely no trace of his master, and Reala knew it was all his fault. He had been the one thing left standing between NiGHTS, those kids and his master. Had he not failed, had he stopped NiGHTS then Wizeman wouldn't be gone.
In a strange way though, Reala had almost felt relieved at that initial realisation. His core was back safe and sound, and he no longer had to fear or suffer Wizeman's cruel punishments or fear having his heart crushed. The horrible false core that had been used to keep tabs on him at all times was destroyed and his mind was once again entirely his own.
Didn't stop the feeling of deserving punishment for having such thoughts and feelings however. If Wizeman were still alive, he'd be killed on the spot for his failures no doubt.
Though Reala preferred not dying, so instead he had chosen to self impose his own punishment by locking himself inside one of the capture cages once used for capturing NiGHTS.
So here he was. Sitting inside the cage once utilised for capturing his wayward twin, in the middle of Nightmare with nothing to do other than sulk over his situation, Wizeman's passing and just things in general.
He didn't know how long he had spent in there, by himself. All the lesser Nightmaren had disappeared, since Wizeman's downfall and so Reala was here all by himself. Him, this accursed cage and the never ending silence.
Or at least, it was silent until an all too familiar wooshing sound met his ears.
"Reala?"
He had barely time to register the sound from before, and the sudden voice right next to him had Reala quickly shooting up from his sitting position, nearly careening into the top of the cage as he did so.
Turning, Reala came face to face with the one individual he last wanted to see. NiGHTS was floating in front of the cage staring at him.
Reala blinked stunned. He had chosen to imprison himself in this very location because he had been certain it would be the one place NiGHTS would never come to. Apparently he had been wrong.
What was he even doing here? Hunting down the last of their brethren? Reala automatically took a defensive pose. Was he here to finish the job and kill him too?
Though, the confused and somewhat concerned expression on NiGHTS face seemed to negate that possibilty. Even so, Reala kept his guard up.
"What are you doing in there?" NiGHTS asked.
Reala glared at him, his defensive position faltering slightly. No, if NiGHTS was here to kill him, he would have attacked him already. Well regardless, Reala was in no mood to chat and so he glared before crossing his arms and turning his back.
"None of your business. Leave me alone."
NiGHTS hummed, but didn't leave. Instead he floated around the cage to face Reala who only hissed and turned away. But NiGHTS kept at it, and Reala's anger only grew.
"Go away NiGHTS!" Reala snapped after the umpteenth time of NiGHTS trying to face him.
But NiGHTS ignored him. He cocked his head to the side, a thoughtful look on his face. "Why are you inside this thing Ree?"
"None of your damned buisiness now leave me alone!"
Reala emphasised the last word with a vicious thump with his hand on one of the golden bars. NiGHTS flinched slightly but otherwise made no move to leave. Suddenly his face lit up as if he had realised something.
"Wait a minute" he said "has this anything to do with Wizeman?"
Reala didn't answer.
NiGHTS floated around, tilting his head at Reala who simply turned away again. "Is this your attempt at self punishment because you failed to stop me? Is that it?"
Reala could hear the faint layer of amusement to his tone. He hated it, and he hated how quickly NiGHTS came to a conclusion. He growled, but otherwise didn't respond.
Maybe if he ignored him long enough he'd go away.
"You do realise now that Wizeman is gone, you don't have to worry about punishments anymore Ree" NiGHTS tone softened as he looked at his twin. "He can't hurt you anymore. You're free now! This self punishment thing of yours is silly and pointless-"
"Free?" Reala finally spoke, as he turned and fixed his twin with a vehement glare. "Thats easy for you to say traitor" he spat the word out like a snake would spit poison "you never had to put up with having your core taken and having a false one forced upon you and having every word every thought constantly monitered! Don't talk to me about freedom!"
NiGHTS looked taken aback and a little hurt by Reala's sudden outburst. Reala scowled in disgust and turned his back on his twin again with his arms crossed tightly across his chest. He couldn't stand that pitiful expression on NiGHTS face.
"Ree..."
"And besides" Reala continued sharply cutting NiGHTS off, "i could never be free, even if i wanted to" he finished quietly.
"Is the cage meant to be symbolic of that?" NiGHTS asked after a moment of silence. Reala didn't reply.
NiGHTS hummed, seemingly in thought about something. Reala inwardly groaned. He was clearly planning something, and whatever it was, Reala did not want any part of it.
He just wanted to be left alone to sulk in peace. Could NiGHTS not grant him even that?! He'd already taken everything else away.
"Actually" NiGHTS said suddenly brightening up, "theres something i've been meaning to show you"
Reala cast a sidelong glare over his shoulder. "No."
"Aww come on Ree! It'll be fun! Trust me!" NiGHTS held his hand out encouragingly.
Reala snorted. "And what makes you think i should trust you of all people?"
NiGHTS shrugged. "Well surely it's better than sitting in there all day"
Reala hated how he had a point there. Even so...
"I'd rather spend eternity stuck in here than ever trust you." He hissed. The words were meant to hurt, but Reala's tone lacked the bite it normally had.
NiGHTS was clearly unfazed as he pouted and kept his hand held out. "Oh dont be like that Ree. What are you so afraid of anyway?"
"I'm not afraid of anything!" Reala snapped.
"Well if thats true, then why don't you take my hand?"
Reala sent his twin a vehement glare over his shoulder, before his gaze flicked down to the offered hand.
He didn't like it, but the temptation was there. Admittedly, NiGHTS had peaked his interest the moment he mentioned he wanted to show him something. While he had passed the time - however long it had been Reala couldn't tell - stuck inside this cage mostly sulking, he had also been feeling rather bored.
But despite his previous statement, there was a twinge of fear he felt at the idea of leaving. Wizeman was dead, this he knew all too well but even so the feeling of needing to self-inflict punishment was still strong.
Because what if Wizeman did return? What if he returned and saw how Reala was flying around all willy-nilly as though he wasn't at fault for causing his master's downfall? What if-
"Ree" NiGHTS' voice snapped Reala out of his fast growing panicked thought process. He locked eyes with his twin who gave him a gentle smile.
"Trust me"
Reala scowled, and he looked down at the out stretched hand again before letting out a long rough sigh.
"Fine" he said drawing the word out through gritted teeth as he reached out and took his sibling by the hand. NiGHTS grinned and gently pulled Reala out of his self imposed cage.
Reala shuddered the moment he passed through the forcefield, his anxiety spiking to an all time high.
"See? That wasn't so bad!" NiGHTS said brightly.
"I hate you" Reala seethed under his breath, as he floated rigidly outside the cage. The temptation to dart back in was strong.
NiGHTS laughed before offering his hand again. "Come on, i know you'll like this" he smiled.
Reala highly doubted that, but he took NiGHTS hand albiet a little hesitantly without a word.
And away they went, up through the pitch black sky of Nightmare. It didn't last long however, as NiGHTS transported them to a dream world in Nightopia. Reala recognised it as being Twin Seeds, the same place Wizeman had been defeated a decade prior.
"Why have you brought me here?" Reala asked warily.
NiGHTS only grinned. "You'll see!" he replied cheekily as he guided Reala by the hand up towards the sky.
Reala however was beginning to lose patience, and a part of him still stubbornly refused to see what NiGHTS wants to show him that is 'oh so magical'. A part of this defiance bubbled to the surface, and Reala shut his eyes.
"How're you going to see it if you've got your eyes closed?" NiGHTS suddenly said jokingly. "Not still scared are you?"
"Of course not!" Reala snapped, opening his eyes to glare at his twin, who simply grinned at him as he contiued to guide Reala further upwards.
They passed through a cloud, and once again Reala found himself closing his eyes, either out of stubborness or reflex he wasn't too sure himself.
He re-opened them again as NiGHTS slowed and they finally broke through the cloud.
It was at that point Reala sucked in a sharp breath, as his eyes widened in wonder and amazement at the sight suddenly presented before him.
Above him, was a beautiful night sky filled with stars and colourful nebulas and a large bright crescent moon.
The clouds were spread about all around below them, though there were plenty of large gaps inbetween where one could see the city of Twin Seeds glittering below, but that was far from Reala's attention right now. The lights of the city had masked the nightsky below the cloudline, but up here it was... it was...
"Pretty magical isn't it?" NiGHTS said with a warm grin. He cast his own gaze upward to match his brothers, his smile turning into something a bit more forlorn. "Certainly brings back memories huh"
Reala said nothing. He was still speechless, his gaze fixed on the twinkling stars and swirling colours of the distant nebulas as memories from a time long since passed slowly came back.
A time when he and NiGHTS were small, younger, a time when when they had been more carefree and would visit various Nightopia's to play and chase one another. Or to simply sit and enjoy the wonderous scenery created by the creative mind of a sleeping dreamer.
It had been so long, he had forgotten. During all his time serving under Wizeman, he had seen many different Nightopia's but hardly paid them any attention. After swearing fealty to his master once he and NiGHTS came of age, all that had mattered to him from that point on was pleasing his master and collecting the Ideya through whatever means possible. Whatever beauty the nightopia's had never lasted long, and it hadn't taken long for Reala to forget the times from before as well.
He slowly realised NiGHTS must had not forgotten. Was that part of why he had defected? Wizeman never showed them such wonders like this afterall. All he ever taught them was fear, pain and respect.
If this was what freedom was like, it was no wonder NiGHTS had left.
"I.. It's... Yeah" Reala breathed, finally finding his voice. NiGHTS turned his head towards his sibling and smiled, a big happy smile, probably the most genuine smile he'd made in a very long time, which was further amplified by the soft light of the moon and the light of the stars reflecting in his eyes.
"So you remember?"
"Yeah... yeah i remember." Reala smiled back.
NiGHTS smile only widened, and Reala suddenly became very self concious of what he said and the small smile that had snuck its way onto his face. He scowled and looked away sharply, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. NiGHTS chuckled.
"Y'know i never get tired of seeing this. One of my favourite past times is to fly up here and play my flute. I've always wanted to show you" he added in a faintly sad whisper.
A small pang of guilt shot through Reala before he could think, and he growled under his breath, forcing it down.
"Yeah well... now you showed me" Reala replied as nonchalantly as possible.
NiGHTS smiled at him. "And?"
"And what?"
"Do you like it?"
Reala glared, and he turned his head away crossing his arms.
"Yeah, sure whatever."
NiGHTS laughed, a soft musical sound and Reala found he couldn't stay grumpy and his own mouth twitched into a smile.
They both returned to gazing up at the beautiful night sky. After a short while, Reala coughed, drawing NiGHTS attention.
"Um.. thanks... by the way. For.. showing me.. this" Reala mumbled, keeping his head turned to hide the growing blush.
NiGHTS simply smiled that soft smile again. "You're welcome Ree."
And with that, the two fell once again into a blissful silence, and they contined to watch the magical nightsky together. And Reala thought:
Perhaps freedom isn't so bad afterall.

CHARMED 03X09 REVIEW SPOILERS!!!!!
Am I the only one who thought that the breaking of Jordan's Curse was weak as heck? I'll go into further detail about why I didn't care much for it but I feel that it is the main reason I am giving this episode a 7/10. It was solid as far as entertainment goes, but it wasn't as exciting to me as some past episodes have been.
Anyways I guess I will continue on to the dislikes now.

1) The end of Jordan's curse
Okay y'all, I get the poeticness of jordan being released from his curse by convincing a projection of Florence with his whole the past can't be changed and I am not going to be a violent person/I'm different. My whole issue with this is that the whole curse said you had to balance the scales of justice and that was kinda of exciting to think about how the show was going to go that route and what it might mean as far as tasks go.
This was a decidedly weak way to end a potentially exciting curse. Because the curse wasn't actually "broken" Jordan was released from it.
And on that note, I also have issues with that logic. So the spell was just a simple containment gone wrong because of Jordan's curse....so why was Florence real in it?. Its magic its fine however they try to explain it. I just wish they'd (the writers) would put more effort into making it make sense in the show. Not in the Q&A section of thier social media pages/interviews.
I am honestly getting tired of having to be Sherlock Holmes all the time and me having to discuss and question on go back to previous episodes to figure out how what they did makes sense in canon. It's exhausting.
And listen, I know that people might see this as negativity, but in the spirit of the episodes message, am I saying it. The writing does not need to be exceptional, but it shouldn't be lazy.
The audience shouldn't have to put in all the work to figure out what's going on. It be one thing if we trying to solve a mystery or speculate on where the show is going , but in general solutions to problems should make sense and be connected to what you've already set up. They spent so much build up on the idea of this curse and the price of "balancing the scales of justice" to have the curse ended all in a simple spell gone wrong narrative. Again, if they felt it was the best to have Jordan released from his cure rather than "break it" thats cool but not in a containment spell gone wrong. I personally didn't need an action scene or anything, but maybe in a spell/plotline actually related directly to the curse. It just came off as an easy out for the writers.
2) Introducing Josefina as a possible recurring character.
Don't hate! I love Josefina as a character and would love to see more of her......but this plate is already full. I have felt it a lot this season, but felt it was a nit pick not worth mentioning because I didn't expect it to get worse, but I am just going to say it.
Every episode has like three or so storylines. And while I dont mind them when they are all equally interesting and feel not too split, I feel that sometimes its too seperate and dis jointed. Its too much time apart and not enough together time. The more character they have introduced the more they have split the stories and I just would prefer that we'd see more together time than separated.
That's kind of what I complained about season two. That it was too much of everyone doing thier own thing that it felt off.
Thats said all I mean is that either they need to figure out how to write in a less disjointed way or to drop some characters. Which would be sad since they have spent a lot of time in the two recurring characters (Jordan and Abby) they already have.
I dont know exactly where they are going with Josefina or if she is going to be as recurring as Jordan and abby or if its more like a few episodes or just one more.
I would like to see more, but I dont trust the writers.....I feel like I say that a lot and that's sad.

1) issue of the episode: Exceptionality
I have nothing to say other than thank God someone said it. It's exhausting being pressured into being a "model minority".
2) Josefina
Love the idea of the character and getting to learn more about Marisol and her side of the family.
Also like the idea of witch training. We never actually got to see the PO3 Learn about magic and study magic all that much. Even on season 1 a big issue I had was that they never really put as much effort into showing how the ladies are going about learning and training to fight demons/evil. The training orb was a simple way to do so but we didn't get to see very much of it. It was all mostly assumed off screen.
3) Language issues
I like that they brought up (briefly) the whole language issue in the Latinx community. So I assume most of us know it but ill just go through it a bit.
There are many different voices in the community and there are some that believe that the language (Spanish and/or other native or native based jargon) are essential to the experience. Some go as far as to say you can't really consider yourself latinx if you dont speak Spanish.
Which is bonkers in my mind because (as in episode with Maggie) latinx people face similar issues based on thier appearance and last name whether or not they speak Spanish. There are many latinx people who do not speak Spanish and yet it is assumed they do.
No being raised in a Spanish speaking (or other native language) household does open you up to different experiences (language erasure, ESL school experiences, etc) those aren't soley latinx and shouldn't be a "admissions" requirement.

The Devil All the Time ( 2020 )
OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS FREE REVIEW
"There's a lot of no-good sons of bitches out there"
Okay alright first of all
This is not your generic go-to netflix crime thriller if you are watching it with that intention everything is wrong with you
This Film is dark , not just dark but dark as hell which is filled with gore elements which also includes a multi layered story telling and the film is filled with a group of astonishing cast members and every one of them has a potential to carry the whole film on their shoulders with no hard work but just with grace and ease so these reasons altogether might have over hyped few people's expectations and i think that is the main reason why i am seeing some mixed reviews here and there online or maybe just because you started watching this film with a very wrong intent or wrong mind set like i said before and i am stressing this so much because of in my opinion this film is just perfect maybe there are flaws obviously every film will have flaws but i just couldn't see them ? Maybe because i am a big fan of tom holland i might be little biased but to me this film is top notch and this is a perfect film film
Now speaking about the cast & film overall
This is a very slow paced slow burning piece of art
It takes you to the places you can never think of mentally and it makes you feel completely lost in emotions by the end of the film making you numb
Antonio Campos is a fucking genius i love his way of story telling
He's honest , he knows what he is doing , he loves taking risks and he never fears when ever he goes out of the conventional film making style and i very much love how he connected every character in the film like i mean every character in the film is interconnected and if you remove any one character you will feel the void , disturbance and unbalance in the film.
Film lovers might argue with me or hate me for saying this but i feel this film is so much better than christine 👀🤝🏻 atleast to me ? And this is coming from a person who also loved it a lot

I cant speak about everyone in the film because this has such a long list of talented actors 😭 who rocked in the film i am only going to speak abt some of my favourite performances as of now i promise to speak about every other cast member and their performance in the later days coz i am very sure this is a film i am going to talk a lot from now and this is also a film that i am going to watch and enjoy in the future days
First TOM FUCKING HOLLAND
I have been seeing this dude's films even before the civil war where he played the spidey role and i always felt he was a very raw and potential actor since his childhood but after seeing him in civil war and spider man hoco its just impossible for me to not like him as an actor ? HE IS SO GOOD ON SCREEN and he makes you believe everything when ever he's on screen maybe its swinging from wall to wall or putting a donut or whatever into a guys mouth while kicking his ass and making it look bad ass af🔥 few might feel this are such a silly examples to say but to me this is about how tom brings a realistic approach to a scene and makes it good and i have always been a big fan of tom holland since spiderman hoco and this is nothing related to tdat but y'all might already know timothee was the second closest option of mcu to cast as spidey and tom grabbed that role ever since tom is just busy with mcu films and where as timothee had a incredible and unbelievable growth as an ACTOR for real to me that is stunning because he did it in such short of span and to me as fan of tom holland part of me was always loving him as spidey but a big heart of me felt a void and sad because tom is missing a lot of great opportunities which has a chance to showcase his real acting abilities which made me think what if timothee got the spidey role instead of tom? Maybe we would have seen a serious tom holland as an actor and this thought killed me everytime but everything happens for a reason and tom holland is undoubtedly the best spidey we have ever got and anyways when films like tdat happen many people realise and understand how great and how fucking incredible tom holland is as an actor and i love when everyone appreciate him for this !! It makes my heart very happy and this is the exact reason why this film is so personal and special to me

And speaking about his performance in the film he is just surreal and outstanding . The character that he played is a very complicated one not many relate to that character but every one can understand his emotions, actions and intentions in the film and all the credit goes to tom for bringing a life to that character and playing it in such a beautiful way listen to me very carefully when i am saying this not many actors from this generation can bring bundle of emotions at the same time in a same scene but tom holland does that with such an ease and i stg i am not exaggerating if you watch the film you will know what i mean !! My dude's been killing it since remember me and as an actor like i said in the Tenet Review he has matured a lot as an actor since good time and he played a very powerful and sick role in the film i am not gonna spoil it for others just go and watch the fucking film atleast for him he did a great job and i dont understand how the women and gays are dealing with him? Seriously even as a straight guy its hard for me to concentrate on the film or scenes where ever he's present because this asshole is so fucking hot and sexy 👉👈 The directors should either deglamorise him by making him fat or bald or just hide his face with prosthetic make up or sth just like how directors hide tom hardy's face in every film he's in 🙄. Now coming back to his performance its really hard to dominate him when ever he's on screen dude just want all the attention towards him , such a selfish actor huh

He played a very important and crucial role in the film he maynot have big screen time but we can totally feel his presence through out the film i think this one sentence explains how important his character is to the film and how well he potrayed the role and he's the only guy in the film who got an incredible character growth throughout his journey in the film
Harry Melling
It would be very unfair if i dont speak about harry's performance in tdat
DUDE KILLED IT . HE SCARED ME WITH HIS EMOTIONS AND EXPRESSIONS . He didn't even a play a negative role but he just added a lot of depth not only to his character but also the film with his intimidating portrayal
Sebastian stan
This is the most honest and a very raw performance from Sebastian stan so far ( i am saying this based on the films that i have seen of his ) i just wish he had more screen time thats the only thing that i didnt like in the film also there are so many blanks that needs to be filled about his character
Eliza Scanlen
I dont remember her from any film or tv series that i have seen before but she's outstanding in the film , the character doesnt have much something new to offer so i can't speak a lot for her but as far as the character concerned she did her best and her performance is a impressive one and many people are gonna love her .
Riley Keough
Unlike the previous films & tv series she's been in
This film gave her a very challenging role and she's the only women in the film who's been through ups and downs and has a very complicated but a impressive character growth with minimal limitations and dimensions
She was fabulous and incredible . It just stuns me how the character has begin and how it ended at the end
And special mention to jason clarke and the old couple who played grandparents ( kind of ) to Arvin Russel and lenora . Not all heroes wear the cape.
Finally despite the mention of god several times in the film this is not really about god at all its about the DEVIL , The DEMON that carries and plays a very pivotal role in the film you cannot see it but you can sense it and feel it
Its about the blind faith, its about the irreversible & inescapable fate . I really love how Antonio Campos has connected all the dots by the end of the film with a very impressive film making and with a steady gothic theme running till the end internally and i haven't completely finished the book ( The devil all the time ) but if anyone really wants to completely bring the book life they cannot do it in a single film it will take you atleast 4 or 5 tv series to do so but Antonio Campos did it with a single film and added a very deep meaning to the core of the film w/o deviating from the roots of the book & even touched the aspects like duality of a man and some of you grateful fucks are complaining about him
OBVIOUSLY films ard subjective but you all need to be more open about this film
In simple words please fucking watch this film guys 🤗❤
This one is not for everyone but everyone will have atleast a small aspect in the film that y'all are going to like / love / hate / discuss about.
The devil all the time is violent , brutal , honest and perfect in every possible way atleast to me and i really want you all to watch it if you're into such type of stuff
Remember No country for old men ? Now make it 10 times more violent but add some meaning to it with a realistic approach but more slow burning drama and a little bit of darkness ... now that is what The Devil all the time is .

I read this ranboo headcannon that when hes overstimulated he likes to hold things because his enderman instincts kick in, i don’t remember who posted it but if you read this HI i drew you this! sorry its fuzzy my cams busted.

ran and boo are officially not cannon ranboo said so because he doesn't want to misrepresent DID
i saw a very interesting head cannon that, following the logic that we cant sleep in the nether or end , than the same goes for mobs that spawn there in the nether/end not being able to sleep in the over world,so ranboo never gets tired (and thus cant see phantoms). but the moment he goes to the nether , all the time he spent without sleep catches up all at once and he passes out. same with other mob-baced characters. im not sure if ill use it but i thiink the idea is funny
he sneezes purple particles
(a personal one) he has medical conditions specific to endermen and his highly specific body . because of this hes still a bit of a medical mystery and getting the medical help he needs is very hard
(another personal one) my theory is that when ranboo said he has no backbone , he was of corse talking metaphorically but i think its cannon that it may be literal too, when he dies to an alpaca early in the story he drops body parts, nowhere in there did he drop bones! HE HAS NO BONES!
he also has to different types of blood, dont know how,why,where,when but he does, this is just cannon but still.
endermen are brainwashed mindless servants of the ender dragon, whatever they spit out is gibberish or word salad , simple phrases they hive knoking around in the hive mind for some reason, perhaps remnants of there old selves. every now and again they say something as an impulse whenever stimulated and something awakens in them, just for a flash. raboo has connections to the hive (why he has bad memory) but because of his distance from the end and his other half he isn't completely controlled, but in moments of panic he may shout a random phrase in garbled English like an enderman.
I don’t think water/eye contact is AS bad as .. i don’t know. theres more than one scene where hes in the water or rain and doesn't mention it, he talks to people and doesn't seem too uncomfortable. i feel like its a really good example (weather he intended it or not) of what i like to call “backround humm’ anxiety. usually people with anxiety disorders learn to internalize and minimize anxiety , it become a subconscious hum , we don’t usually notice it but if we pay attention too it some people can sometimes physically feel a sharp pain or fuzz in the skull, maybe we dont notice it but thats why its dangerous, because it predisposes us to a panic attack, we just need something to push us over the edge. mebay our friends will notice a quiver in the voice or fog brain , matched with hot face.
because of previous head cannon i think that if you listen very closly and your in a quiet room, you can hear a hum or buz or ringing (kinda like the endeman sounds actually) when hes stressed, and hes so good at repressing his ish that he does’t notice (i really dont think this ones cannon, ranboo expressly said that he doesn't want to misdirect disorders, but coming from someone with severe anxiety disorder , i relate to endermen WAY TOO much with the eye contact and hissing sounds and what i like to see as“stimms”)
he can not teleport, but he may figure out how to later (probably not tho).

“A Deed Without A Name” by Lee Morgan Notes and Thoughts part three
Recap of part two:
In part two, we discussed the bestiary, a wide variety of spirits and entities or not-quite either, along with a witches power, the Devil, and superstition. Fetchbeasts and familiars were also discussed. We discussed how fetchbeasts will usually relate to the persons ancestral heritage the most, how the vitality of a person feeds the spirit working through them, and how accounts of working with the fae or the Devil appear throughout accounts of witchcraft.
On Visualization and hedgecrossing:
Visualization as you get older becomes more difficult, even with a longing to cross the hedge or if you had a talent for it when you were young. The walls built up as you reach adulthood are strong and require work to take down.
*A good way to hedgecross is to develop a good relationship with a powerful site where crossing is easy/liminality is clear. Every place has the capacity to be a location for passage, you just have to know where to look. There are parts of this passage informed by wisdom from Aboriginal medicine men that Morgan refers to as ‘nungkari’, but as I am not sure, I’m not going to definitively say it’s correct.
A direct quote on the nature of crossing places and crossing, “A site is active in that a relationship exists between site, humans and spirits, a threeway synergy that results in that place being sacred or being a dreaming site.” in regards to the wisdom of aforementioned Aboriginal medicine men.
“deep myth” is a form of meeting place between spirits and man; find a place with history tied to it, and learn it to make a connection. Make an offering once you’ve found such a place, speak to the spirits of the place.
Hedgecrossing is no more or no less than being other, no merging the daimonic other with your second skin.
On Western Occultism and the Daimonic Self:
Western Occultism will place the daimonic self as the ‘higher self’, of it being without substance, while there are actual accounts of peoples doubles committing crimes, but the person in question does not remember a thing. Whether they did it unknowingly or someone took their double for a spin, both accounts have been recorded.
On the dead, ‘the fat’ mentioned in the previous post, and dipping back into hedgecrossing:
The Taltos of Hungary were driven by a strong appetite. Witches present a strong relationship to the dead; appearing at peoples bedsides as doubles wearing white veils.
Taltos had all sorts of hungry spirits working through them, burning the aforementioned vitality, which would drive some to skim off fat from the milk harvests.
You may find you need to take offerings on behalf of your spirits - be wary of using ‘the will of the spirits’ as an excuse. (A warning provided by Morgan, and a good lesson to heed.)
On the Beast, Riding Plants, and initiatory process:
The beast exists in everyone, regardless of if you have seen it. When you seek out witchcraft, you stir the beast. (Arguable, but I do not have enough evidence or the energy to refute this, but as I am early in my research I am not sure I entirely agree with this point; if anyone has opinions they wish to share or reading material on the topic I welcome it. Certainly you make yourself more interesting as you seek out witchcraft, you stir up things, but do I believe everyone has a beast? To be determined)
Riding plants was a thing far before riding animals or broomsticks.
Ragwort is known as being a steed of witches, alongside sorghum.
Things with the reputation of being hex breakers, magic counters, protection from maleficium usually have benevolent physical actions, (ex. sage, known for spiritual cleansing, is also an antiseptic)
Being ‘made’ consists of an initiatory crisis, (death/rebirth, symbolic) that includes power gifting and dismemberment, the power that has been given will try to remake the person into a suitable vessel. This can and will be a time of confusion and conflict. The process will feel like the threat of death to the body of the person under going it, whether thats physically or emotionally/mentally/situationally.
Visions of being taken apart of swallowed whole or dragged under (especially by your fetchbeast) are not uncommon testimonies to see.
The association of witches with death makes sense when we consider that initiation centers around death and dying; being remade and reborn, dismembered. They’re not the person they were before, and this reflects in what they bring with them.

I don’t know about Rex. I think society just took one look at him and pushed him away because his personality is weird. He’s honest and kind, almost too kind. It don’t help that he doesn’t look traditionally Japanese which will garner him a lot of unpleasant experiences

i love the sense of trust and mentorship between matenro with Jakurai as Hifumi and Doppo’s mentors. At least that’s the feeling I get with them ahaha
Doppo’s english is a bit harsh but also weirdly fits his style. im a bit mixed on it but with the whole song being more melancholic with english sprinkled in, it matches the theme
The song itself is such a mellow and soothing song though. Its different than Maternro’s usual work and its a good different. I love the subway and old timey imagery that came with the song and the image of a subway train lighting up the way to a new path is such a great way of showing that there are different paths and different destinations that one can take. Even if you take the same train, you can end up in a different place. The light imagery in particular is just so good since Ruikawa’s original line of the city being a beacon of light for him is mirrored in the song.
The lyrics especially are so soft and powerful with the imagery within the words being simultaneously rough and tumble but also soft and reassuring. It seems more like a lament or a elegy to a life that could have been if they had gotten on a different train. I love the lyrics, especially the chorus since it speaks of mundane things but things that everyone can understand and relate to
it also carries mad Spirited Away vibes. It’s also called Falling which I think is pretty fitting
the only thing that I don’t like about the song Jakurai’s vocal beats within his verse. Usually it works since there’s a big beatboxing feel to those beats but with Jakurai his lyrical rap doesn’t mesh well with the harsh guttural sounds beatboxing
The pain of having one of your few friends betray you hurts and wow this episode is out to make me feel a lot of sympathy for Doppo

I think I’m only noticing this just now but the episode titles are all famous quotes from people/proverbs.
Ep. 1) “As Soon as Man is Born, He Begins to Die“ This is an old proverb. Who said it I don’t know and a quick internet search gave me nothing, but its commonly said to convey the meaning that nothing lasts forever. IDK why this proverb was chosen since there’s no indication of any of the teams disbanding any time soon except for TDD era teams which have already happened
Ep. 2) “Speak of the Devil and He Will Appear“ Again, another old idiom which dates back to the 16th century. This one is probably about Ichiro and how he appears whenever he is called or whenever he is needed. Though it could be a overall commentary on how the brothers are reliable no matter the situation
Ep. 3) “Two Heads Are Better Than One” - John Heywood This quote describes DoHifu pretty well. Its because these two work and rely on each other that they’re able to not only make it through each day but also make each day worth living. Because they help each other, but they’re not the same, they’re better for it. This could also apply to MTR as a whole being a team where each member thinks outside the box and their ideas collectively make such an interesting team
Ep. 4) “A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed” This one is an 11th century proverb which explains that in times of need, true friends will show their colors. That's the main mentality behind MTC though I believe that it applies to Rio in particular for this episode. While the entirety of MTC are willing to help each other in times of need, in this episode it mainly focused on Samatoki and Rio’s plights and how the members as a whole show that they are all true friends to each other
Ep. 5) “Seeing is Believing” The origins of this quote is blurry but there the bible seems to be the origin of this statement believe it or not. While it does fit the episode’s theme of ghosts and how rumor's can harm people and businesses, it doesn’t really describe FP like the other quotes do the other teams. I find it odd, but I hope that FP are redeemed in their next feature episode. FP deserves better and are being done dirty in the anime.
Ep. 6) “He Who Laughs Last, Laughs Best” - The Christmas Prince. I think this one is pretty nice in describing not only the episode but the series as a whole. It doesn’t matter who’s winning in the begging, or the middle. The final outcome is what really matters. It’s pretty apt for the series since even though The Party of Words are winning currently, its who wins by the end of the series that matters. The episode encompasses this pretty well too with the whole plotline.
Ep. 7) “The Darkest Hour is Just Before the Dawn” Dating back to 1950 ish, this one carries the simple There is hope in the worst circumstances message. Again, its pretty suitable for the series as a whole since the Party of Words might be making life harsh, but there’s still hope to be found in the world.
