Happy PRIDE 2024 🏳️‍🌈

A tribute to the LGBTQIA+ representation throughout generations of TSC characters.

I had so much fun creating these individual pieces and compiling them together on this bulletin board. Each photograph has a little piece of PRIDE element in it (see below) and all around the board are little tributes to other characters.

And on a more important note, I need to see Jocelyn’s reaction to Ash… cuz I know I’m going to cry. Like idk about you guys, but reading the way she spoke about Sebastian and what could have been always broke my heart (like COFA when she went to the hospital and saw that baby 💔). An underrated tragedy in TDA

Is how Mark almost immediately loses his horse upon coming back to the Blackthorns

Like my boys life has just been upended again

And his horse has been his one steady companion that has been with him through all of faerie even before Kieran

And his horse is the one piece of faerie he gets to take with him back to the Institute.

And the horse is crushed by demons on like day 2 of Mark being back

His one connection to the skies and faerie and kieran

And then we all just move on bc at the time horse was in motorcycle form

And Emma’s like oh no will the hunt replace it and Marks like probably not 🤷🏼

Like Mark bby are you covering up how upset you are

Or do faeries not actually care about their horses 😭 i feel like they do

Idk I’d be devastated if I was Mark but maybe I’m just a horsegirl 😭

It just occurred to me that Jocelyn Fairchild was essentially an undocumented immigrant and that’s probably why she turned to painting as her career. Shadowhunters don’t exist in the eyes of the mundane government(s) so she would’ve had no access to jobs, welfare, etc. She was twenty one raising a child in a world she knew nothing about, with no help.

(This is not to mention she was eighteen when she married Valentine, twenty when she had a baby, discovered her husband’s crimes and betrayed him, then was made to believe her son was dead…)

That woman has been through a lot, and honestly, I don’t blame her for being concerned about the Clace drama in CoFA and CoLS. I would be too if that was my (hypothetical) child.

(Note: I like Clace and don’t blame Jace for what Valentine\Sebastian\Lilith did to him, and I’m not saying Clary can’t be upset about being lied to. Multiple truths can coexist!)
