Your POV
“Well...It was three years ago, I had girlfriend just like you. She was innocent, barely knew nothing of the world. I wanted to help her see the world.” He explained. “Like corrupt her?” I asked. “I guess you could say that. So I did, I showed her everything she didn’t know, just how I did you. But as I was, Jamie took it as I was abusing her. He went behind my back and talked to her, bringing her from her state. She fell in love with him and left me for him. He made me so angry and I began to sleep with girls to try and forget her, but I couldn’t. That’s until I met you.” He said.
I nodded my head, playing with his sweatpants string. “He’s just as charming as you..” I giggled. He smiled a little. “Yeah..I guess so..” He replied, hugging me closer. “I have another question.” I said. “What is it?” He asked. “Who is Lia?” I asked. I felt him stop his movements. “Don’t worry about her..she’s nothing to me and never believe what she says.” He replied, kissing my forehead.
“Even when she said you got her pregnant?” I asked looking at him. “Not even that...” He smiled. I gave him a warm smile as well and he kissed my forehead. I yawned. “I love you...” I whispered under my breath. “I love you too..” He replied. I gasped. “You heard me?” I asked.
He nodded and kissed me again. “Go to sleep baby..” He whispered. I rested my head on his chest. “And tell that Bitch to stay in her place or I’ll beat her up more..” I mumbled. He let out a laugh. “Shh my baby..” He said, containing his giggles. I laughed a little and began to fall asleep, listening to his heartbeat.

Jongin’s POV
After Y/n fell asleep it was around night, I got from bed and threw on a hoodie. I walked out the dorm to her dorm and banged on her door. She opened the door holding her son. My son. “What do you want?” She asked. I seen that she had bruises on her face and a busted lip. Wow Y/n, I’m impressed.
“Dada..” My son said making grabbing hands towards me. I took him from Lia’s arms and held him. “Get in.” I said pushing her inside the door. I closed the door behind me. “What?!” She asked, crossing her arms.
“What did you tell Y/n?” I growled. “That you got me pregnant.” She shrugged. “Like I said, that baby is not mine..” I said. “You said that last time and look what happened, Jordan was yours.” She said.
I rolled my eyes and sat down. “What? Can’t say anything now?” She asked walking up to me. “Get away from me, I’m with my son right now.” I said. She rolled her eyes. I bounced him in my lap as he giggled. A small smile came over my face as he did, reminding me of my own giggle. “I’m taking Jordan away.” She said. “What?!” I asked. “I’m taking him away. The adoption center. He’s going up for adoption.” She said.
“No, you’re not.” I said. “Uh, yes the hell I am. You’re never here to see him. You’re too busy fucking that Y/n girl. You can’t even own up to the one I’m pregnant with!” She exclaimed. I stood up. “You take my fucking child I swear I will end you.” I growled. “And your child.” She smirked patting her stomach.
“So this is what this is about? Because I’m not claiming that baby, you’re gonna take my ONLY son away?” I exclaimed back. She took Jordan from me and laid him in his crib. “You put him away and I will come for you. I don’t give a damn about your family nor your shitty ass brother.” I threatened.
“You’re gonna put your hands on me?! Huh?! I’ll put your ass in jail and you won’t see your son EVER again.” She exclaimed. “As I said, I will fucking end you bitch! Try me!” I yelled. “You expect that to scare me?! GET THE FUCK OUT!” “RAISE YOU FUCKING VOICE AGAIN!” I yelled back in her face.
Jordan began to cry in the crib. I took him from the crib and grabbed his bag and blanket. “WHERE AREYOU GOING WITH MY CHILD?! Y/N DOESN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT JORDAN!” I sighed and stopped. She was right, I couldn’t take him back to my room, but I knew where to go. “Bye Lia.” I said walking out the door.
I walked down the empty stairs and halls to my car. I took Jordan’s car seat from the truck and put it in the passenger seat. I strapped him in securely and put the seatbelt over him. I got in the car and started it, driving off to where I wanted to go.
After a bit, I made it there and I took Jordan from his seat. I made my way up the stairs and I knocked on the door. Chanyeol opened the door with sleepy eyes and a sleepy Baekhyun behind him. “Let me in.” I said pushing pass the two.
“Why are you here so late? It 11pm..” Chanyeol asked. “I couldn’t sleep.” I said. “Why do you have Jordan? What happened?” He asked. “She went to Y/n telling her that I got her pregnant and so I wanted to talk to her. During a small argument we had, she said she was putting Jordan up for adoption. I can’t just let her have him.” I said.
Sehun came from his room and rubbed his sleepy eyes. “Jongin, what’s going on- JORDAN!!” Sehun gasped as he ran over and grabbed him. “Be careful! He’s trying to sleep.” I said. He rocked Jordan in his arms with a smile. “It’s my little nephew.” Sehun said. “So you got in an argument with Lia and she threatened to put Jordan up for adoption?” Chanyeol repeated. “Just because I won’t claim the child she’s pregnant with..” I sighed rubbing my temples.
“It’s Lucas’ child.” Baekhyun yawned. “Lucas? How do you know?” I asked. “He won’t shut up about it. He keeps saying I smashed Lia and got her pregnant and all. And I was there. The night she left your place, she went to Lucas’ and slept with him. She told him to take the condom off and everything. It was disgusting.” Baekhyun explained.
“You were in the room with him?!” Sehun exclaimed. “No dumbass, I heard it all.” Baekhyun replied. “I thought it was Chanyeol’s..” I said. Chanyeol made a face. “Hell no! I fuck around with her from time to time but that is NOT my child. No!” Chanyeol defended, making everyone laugh. “God she’s a slut. Yet she tells me I’m the only one she’s been with.” I said. “Because she trying to pin you down with the baby.” Baekhyun said. “Why..?” I replied. “Because she doesn’t like Y/n taking you away. She wants her to hurt and leave you so you will go back to her.” Baekhyun said.
I rolled my eyes. “That bitch has a damn death wish..” I said. “Yeah, but I think she’s scared of Y/n. She beat her ass in the hallway today.” Sehun said. I smiled. “She told me.” I said. “Oohhh you like Y/n!!” Baek teased. “Shut up! I’m just happy..” I said. “Yeah sureee..what happened to corrupting her and leaving?” Chanyeol asked. “I don’t know, I think she who I want to keep. She just like Grace...” I said. “You mean the girl your brother snatched from you?” Sehun asked.
I looked over at him with a death glare. “Uhhh....Your son is hungry!” Sehun said giving him back to me. I took Jordan from him and went into his bag. I pulled out a bottle and began to fed him. “How old is he now?” Chanyeol asked rubbing his hand over his head. “Ten months.” I said. “Aww..the cute thing..luckily he looks like you. Lia’s pretty ugly.” Baekhyun said.
“I heard the only thing she had good was pussy. She is pretty ugly. But like..how did you fuck that?” Chanyeol asked. “Face down, ass up position. Worked every time.” I replied taking Jordan’s bottle away. “Yeah...best way to have sex with a girl.” Chanyeol laughed. “Yeah, especially with Lia’s ugly ass.” Sehun agreed. Jordan let out a giggle make me smile. “He even knows his mother is ugly!” Baek laughed.
We all heard a knock on door and Lia’s voice. “CHANYEOL OPEN UP THE DOOR! JONGIN JUST TOOK MY-” She walked in and stopped in her tracks. “Give my son back.” She said walking up to me. “No. Get out.” I said. “I said give him to me!” She exclaimed, taking Jordan from my arms. He began to cry. “GIVE ME MY SON BACK!” I yelled. She grabbed his bag and walked away. “Say goodbye to him! He leaves in two days!” She exclaimed slamming the door behind her. “FUCK!” I yelled out sitting down on the couch.
“Hey Jongin...it’s okay..honest..” Baekhyun said. “No it’s not. I can’t deal with this shit. I have all of this nonsense going on in my life and yet..” I began to shed tears. “I can’t deal with another thing in my life. Not this..I can’t deal with this..” I said.

The Next Day...
Your POV
I was in the classroom, writing down my notes until I felt an urge in the pit of my stomach. I gasped and held my hand over my mouth, running to the outside of the classroom, throwing up in the trash can. My teacher came rushing out behind me.
“Y/n?! Y/n?! Are you okay?” She asked me. “I..feel..lightheaded..” I said feeling dizzy. I then blacked out. I heard my teacher calling the nurses and students to help me to the heath center.
- -
I woke up on the nurse bed. My teacher and the nurses and doctor talking. They all turned to me as soon as I sat up. The nurse and doctor smiled at me. “Hello ms. Y/n.” The doctor said. “Hi..what happened?” I asked. “You had a black out. We ran some tests on you and found something out.” The doctor said. “What?” I asked.
She smiled more. “You’re pregnant by almost a month.” She said. I felt my world stop. “What..?” I asked. “Congratulations!” The nurse said, stopping the machine that was on me and taking the attachment away from me. “Umm..okay, what about my family and all? D-Did you tell them?” I asked.
My teacher frowned. “Yeah...I contacted them and told them the news and..” “And what?” I asked. “They want nothing to do with you...” she said. Felt my heart break. “No..they..don’t want to talk to me?” I asked. “No..I’m sorry sweetheart..I’m here if you-” I shook my head and ran out the office, crying. I pulled out my phone and deleted their numbers.
How could they just abandon me? All because I’m pregnant?! I walked all the way back to my room and went to the one person who I could vent out to. Jongin...
- -
I walked in the dorm and found him in his room. “Hey baby.” I said. “Hey.” He replied. I walked over to him and crawled on his lap. “Do you love me?” I asked. “Why?” He replied rubbing his hands up and down my thighs. “Um, oh my gosh..Jongin..” I mumbled as he kissed me on my neck and ran his hands under my shirt.
He turned us around to where I was laying down and he lifted my shirt. I ran my hands down his back though his hair. He began to create a hickie on my neck I whimpered gripped onto his back. “I’m pregnant...” I whispered not exactly expecting him to hear. He stopped his actions and leaned up from my neck.
“What?” He asked. “I’m pregnant..” I repeated. He looked at me and got off of me. He walked out the room. I furrowed my eyebrows and followed after him. “So? You’re not gonna say anything?” I asked. “Why should I?” He replied. “What? No..you’re telling me that..you don’t want to help me with this?” I asked heartbroken.
“I don’t have time for it...” He said. “DON’T HAVE TIME FOR IT!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” I yelled. “I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR A BABY! NOT ANOTHER ONE!” He yelled back. “A-Another one? You have a baby?” I asked. He stopped in his tracks. “Like I said, I don’t have time for one..I have to go.” He said. “Where are you going?! I have no one to help me through this!!” I cried holding onto his arm.
“Stop touching me!” He exclaimed, yanking his arm away. “You’re really gonna leave me? MY PARENTS JUST ABANDONED ME BECAUSE OF THIS! YOU’RE THE FATHER!” I cried. “Am I?” He asked putting on his shoes. I sobbed of disbelief. “Jongin...” I said. “I have to go. Bye.” He said. “YOU KNOW WHAT?! FINE!! GO! I HATE YOU!!” I yelled. He stopped in his tracks and turned around. “Then hate me. I don’t have time from you or that child.” He said walking out the door, leaving me there.

Tumblr media
It was too often that you found yourself in places like this, surrounded by people like them.
Places like this being an entirely too crowded apartment, the scent of weed and sweat intertwining in the air, the deep bass of a song pulsing from unseen speakers causing the floor to vibrate beneath your sneaker clad feet.
People like them being your so called ‘friends’ who partied every weekend and got shit faced or cross faded every time an opportunity presented itself.
Don’t get it wrong, you knew how to get down and dirty with the worst of them. But tonight had been one of those nights— one of those nights that all you wanted was to sprawl yourself out in your bed and binge watch Scream for the gazillionth time while stuffing your face full of all your favorite snack foods. It hadn’t been the best day in the world, and just being able to sit back and unwind seemed like the most ideal use of your free time.
Unfortunately, that plan was abruptly negated when your friends got the brilliant idea of partying until their legs gave out. They found it of the utmost importance to drag you along as well, claiming dramatically it had been forever since you last hung out with them.
Since the beginning of the night, you had been tucked into the corner of the room on one of the unoccupied couches, pretending to nurse the cup of god knows what kind of alcohol, and wearing your best resting bitch face in hopes that everyone would just stay the fuck away. Thus far, the strategy had been successful. If someone started coming in your direction, all you had to do was shoot them an icy glare and they’d immediately spin around and walk in the opposite direction.
Though, there was one particular person that seemed to be completely oblivious to your blatant disinterest in being here.
“Y/n!”
You grimaced at the familiar booming voice, reluctantly tearing your eyes off of the window where you’d been counting the lights of passing cars on the street bellow. The one and only Park Chanyeol stood before you, signature lopsided smirk plastered across his face.
You’d known Chanyeol since high school, but you really only knew each other because of your mutual friends. In all honesty, you didn’t consider him much more than a good acquaintance. He was a sweet guy, funny and bright and very outgoing.
But, he was also one of the biggest fuck boys you’d ever met. And he was not shy in displaying the fact that he had wanted to hook up with you, to the point where you couldn’t even pretend that it was just your ego. Not-so-subtly eye fucking you whenever you walked into the room, constantly pressing you about your ideal man or what kind of guy you were interested in, finding any and every excuse to be near you or touch you in one way or another. It was all a bit excessive, especially considering that you just weren’t interested in him like that. Unfortunately, he couldn’t seem to get the hint— or, he just didn’t care.
All his indirect advances made it a bit uncomfortable for you to be around him. That was another reason you’d been subtly avoiding hanging out with the big group of friends, because he was always there. And every time you weren’t, he’d text or call you about it and you’d have to make up an excuse as to why you didn’t show.
It wasn’t even like he actually liked you, either. All that he wanted was to snag a quick fuck.
You’d told him straight up on several occasions that you just were not interested, when his advances got too much for you to put up with. He’d lay off for the rest of the night, and if you were lucky the rest of the next day. But by the next, he’d be right back to his flirting and excessive touching. The dude was relentless.
And it was honestly getting a bit exhausting.
But for tonight, you smile politely and just deal.
“Hey, Chanyeol.”
“I’m surprised you came!” He said, voice louder than usual, falling onto the couch beside you like it was where he belonged. You tensed at the feeling of his thigh pressing firmly against yours, and attempted to scoot away from him, only to be stopped by the arm rest digging into your side.
Shit. Did he not know about personal space? More than likely he did, but just didn’t give a fuck.
You only offered a mild nod of your head in response, lips tight, body rigid. He should have been able to feel it with how tightly he’d pressed himself up against you, should’ve felt the tension in your muscles, the uneasiness rolling off of you thick, heavy waves. But he didn’t even flinch, tossing a nonchalant arm over the back of the couch behind your head. You curled in on yourself as his fingers feathered over your shoulder, the corner of your lip lifting in an uncontainable grimace.
“Yeah, me too.”
For whatever reason, the stiff, grumbled response coaxed a round of guffawing belly laughter from the boy squeezed against you. Personally, you didn’t think it was all that funny.
“Well, I, for one, am very glad you came. But why are you over here all by yourself?”
You shrugged, sinking your teeth into the inside of your lip and turning away from him, opting to give your attention to the lack of stars visible in the light polluted night sky. “Just... not in the mood for all this, I guess.” The empty reply was intended to cut this one sided conversation short as soon as possible.
“Then... do you wanna get out of here?” He whispered the question against the shell of your ear, and you couldn’t help the way you lurched away from him. His breath reeked of vodka, the scent so strong that you couldn’t help the way your nose wrinkled in disgust. One thorough look at him was all it took to confirm your suspicions. His cheeks were flushed a deep red, his hooded eyes unfocused and bloodshot.
“You’re wasted, Chanyeol.” You deadpanned, arms folding over your chest.
“What?! N– no I’m not!” You could clearly hear the faint slur of his words now, only solidifying your point further. He was thoroughly shit faced. And if you weren’t too off base, you thought you caught a whiff of weed clinging to his plaid button up. “I’m fine, y/n!” He insisted, apparently lucid enough to catch the look of disbelief that flashed across your face. A sober Chanyeol was one thing, but dealing with him while he was cross faded? That was above your qualifications as an acquaintance.
“Listen, let’s just go somewhere, yeah?” He hiccuped and you almost hissed as one of his hands fell on your knee, and quickly pushed it away. A faint downward twitch of his lips was the only indication he even noticed it had happened, before he was covering it up with a wide grin and leaning in closer. “I know this great pancake place, open 24/7, most delicious milkshakes you’ve ever had in your life. Then maybe afterward we could... chill at my place. What do you say?”
You knew damn well that just ‘chilling’ was nowhere near being on this man’s mind.
“I say you’re drunk and need to lay down and drink some water.”
“Come on, y/n~” He whined at your blunt reply, and your brows furrowed in distaste as he tugged you closer, only to leap into your hairline when you caught his hazy gaze slip down to your mouth. He bit his lip, eyes fluttering. Fuck. Fuck. Was he going to kiss you? Shit. You couldn’t let this happen. But as you pulled away, he pushed further, and all at once you found yourself trapped against the wall. Fuck!
“I—!”
“Chanyeol.” Both yours and Chanyeol’s head turned, surprised by the sudden interruption. A soft breath of relief escaped your lips, though you also felt the familiar tug of embarrassment in the pit of your stomach.
“Sehun?” He mumbled, blinking in confusion.
“You’re fucked up, Chanyeol. Go drink some water.” The younger boy huffed, rolling his eyes.
“But I—”
“Seriously go, Chanyeol. Before you do something you regret when you sober up.” The exasperation in his voice brought a faint glower across Chanyeol’s face, but, to your relief, he pulled away. You watched with pursed lips as he stood on shaky legs and stumbled past his younger friend, roughly bumping his shoulder as he went.
“Fuck.” You cursed once he was out of ear shot, rubbing your palms over your face, frustration peeking.
When you looked up, Sehun was still standing there in his stupid leather jacket and ripped back jeans with his stupid black hair that fell perfectly over his annoyingly handsome face, pretty eyes narrowed into slits and focused sharply on you. You hated it when he looked like you like that. Hated the way your skin burned and your heart sped up in your chest. Hated the way your stomach stirred with butterflies. You hated it. But at the same time…
“What?” You sighed, grimacing at the faint quiver in your voice.
Sehun folded his arms over his chest. “You don’t have to put up with it, you know.”
“What?”
“It’s so obvious that you’re uncomfortable. Why don’t you just tell him to fuck off?” He asked, shifting his weight onto one hip.
“I have.” You groaned. “I’ve told him I’m not interested. He lets up for a bit but then he goes right back to pulling his usual shit.” You tried to explain, face twisting in irritation.
“Have you told him to go fuck himself?”
“Not in those words, exactly.” You admitted, rubbing at the back of your neck.
“Why not?”
“Isn’t it a bit mean? He’s an asshole but I don’t want to hurt his feelings or something...”
“Why the fuck should you care about his feelings when he refuses to consider yours?”
He wasn’t wrong.
Then again, Sehun is rarely wrong when it came down to things like that.
Even though he was the youngest, he always seemed to carry this strange sort of wisdom. He saw and understood things in ways your other friends, in ways most people just didn’t. He took the time to try and see deeper than most cared to look. You had always respected that about him.
While your other friends egged Chanyeol on, pushing you to get with him, Sehun saw past the fake smiles and forced laughter. He saw just how uncomfortable you really were. And he spoke up about it when he saw it going a bit too far. When Chanyeol got too touchy or too bold, he was usually the one to smack him upside the head and tell him to back off or pull you away. He was good like that. And it was nice to know that someone knew and was actually on your side.
Sehun had been a fixture in your friend group since high school. You hadn’t been very close to him at first because he was more on the quiet side and didn’t go out of his way to talk to you. Not to mention, the kid was intimidating as hell with all his leather jackets and ripped jeans and sharp, penetrating eyes.
Put bluntly, he scared the shit out of you the first time you met him. But then you saw him smile for the first time, saw the sweet blush that coated his cheeks when the older boys teased him, heard that goofy, high pitched laugh that rang like the loveliest bells in your ears, felt that unfamiliar fluttering in your chest. And you knew that you were done for.
The two of you hung out a lot in your freshman year of college, going on late night drives and blasting music and just living. For a while you thought that maybe— just maybe there was something there. A spark. A chance.
But he never made a move, and neither did you. Then there was Chanyeol and his flirting and annoyingly persistent determination to fuck you. Things got complicated and nothing ever ended up happening between the two of you. You thought you’d at least keep up the same momentum in your relationship, but Sehun started pulling away from you. His late night visits became less frequent, his texts dwindling to almost nonexistent, and his presence in your life becoming less and less every day. It hurt. But what the hell were you going to do about it? It was frustrating at first, but you got over it.
... kind of.
... not really.
That’s besides the point.
When you didn’t answer, Sehun sighed, taking a few tentative steps before dropping onto the couch beside you. You weren’t too sure how to feel about the space he left between you. It almost felt representative of the distance that had grown between the two of you in the past year. You didn’t like it.
“It’s not cool what he’s doing to you, you know that, right?” He asked, tilting his head at you. Concern shone through his gentle eyes, uncertainty. You couldn’t ignore the way your chest warmed at the thought that he cared. He cared about you, about your feelings. He cared, and you couldn’t begin to describe the immense joy that ignited inside of you. But you bit your lip to keep from smiling, to keep from sighing blissfully and melting into the familiar comfort of his presence brought you. The seriousness in his gaze kept you upright and alert, the topic at hand pulling you down from the brief high and you nodded gently.
“Yeah. Yeah, I do.”
Sehun pursed his lips, a thoughtful candescence falling over his handsome features. “I’ve known Chanyeol for a long time. He’s not a bad guy, but he is a fucking idiot and doesn’t always realize when he’s being a fucking idiot so sometimes you just gotta slap him in the face and tell him straight up to get his shit together. And he will.”
Just then, you spotted Chanyeol sauntering out of the kitchen, a water bottle gripped in his hand, a hazy kind of smirk on his face. You watched him toss an arm around Minseok’s shoulder and whisper something in his ear, tipping his head in your direction.
“You want him to back off?” You flinched at the unexpected closeness of Sehun’s voice, and made the mistake of turning to face him. He was close. So close. Close enough to count his eyelashes if you wanted. Close enough to see the faded pink of the scar on his cheek. Close enough to smell the subtle wisp of his earthy cologne. Close enough to feel the heat radiating off his skin. Your heart began thundering violently in your chest, a blazing heat blossoming beneath your skin.
“Yeah.” The word came out as less than a breathless whisper. You didn’t miss the way his eyes flashed down to your lips, before quickly snapping back up to your eyes, searching them with a tenderness that made your heart throb.
“Do you trust me?”
“Yes.” There wasn’t a moment of hesitation, not the faintest hint of uncertainty. It was the truth. You trusted him.
He glanced out of the corner of his eye, and you followed his gaze to find Chanyeol standing across the room staring intently in your direction with brows furrowed. Gentle fingers pressing into the curve of your jaw drew your attention back to the man sitting in front of you. Ever so slightly, he tipped his face closer, his nose nudging against yours. Shallow, insufficient inhales swirled in your lungs as your eyes fluttered, utterly overwhelmed by the mere closeness of him.
“Then follow my lead.”
His lips met yours with a gentleness you weren’t entirely prepared for. They were light and cautious, waiting to see whether you’d push him off or pull him in. He let out a soft breath of relief at the feeling of your hand curling around the back of his neck, urging him closer. In an instant, he relinquished his restrains, melting into the warm pressure of your lips as you simultaneously melted into his.
You’ve experienced your fair share of kisses in the past. But something about this one — whether it was the slow, deep pace of it, or the lingering presence of ring clad fingers tracing the length of your throat, or the mere fact that it was with Oh Sehun, the boy that could set your heart ablaze with a single smile — there was just something about this kiss.
When he pulled away, you could still feel the phantom warmth, tingling on your skin. You refused to open your eyes, trying to keep the sensation alive as long as possible.
“Is that alright?”
Finally, you looked at him. And god, had you ever seen a man so beautiful? His cheeks were flushed a soft, endearing pink, deep chocolate eyes hooded and melting, lips just a touch darker in shade then they had been before. You were so awestruck by him that it took you an extra moment to realize that he’d asked you a question.
You nodded, tightening your hold around his neck in order to pull him closer and breathe the word into his open mouth before closing the distance completely, “Yes.”
Immediately following your consent, any and all of Sehun’s lingering reservations vanished. His hands dropped away from your neck, one coiling tightly around the curve of your waist and flattening against the small of your back, the other gripping your jean clad thigh and tugging it gentle over his lap. The new position ignited a dangerously familiar heat in the pit of your stomach, that quickly began to swell into something large and uncontainable, spurred by the delicious pressure of his fingers and skilled movements of his lips.
He groaned deeply as you tugged at his hair, silky tendrils clenched in a tight fist. The sound resonated through your body, vibrating in your chest and shooting straight down to your growing arousal.
“Fuck that was sexy.”
A low chuckle rumbled in his throat and you realized with an embarrassed flush that you’d said that out loud. But the buzz of nerve was quickly soothed when he mumbled breathlessly, “right back atcha.”
He emphasized his point by sinking his teeth into the sensitive flesh of your lower lip and tugging, eliciting a low, drawn out moan from the depths of your chest. Smooth flicks of his tongue soothed the afflicted skin, before he asked for permission to enter, not waiting a single moment to dive in when it was granted.
Feeling the burn of someone’s stare, your eyes flicked open for a moment, sliding lazily over to where Chanyeol still stood, seemingly rooted into the spot. His eyes were wide, lips gaping, cheeks flushed, though you couldn’t tell if it was from the alcoholic something else entirely. The grip he had on his water bottle had tightened substantial, and you couldn’t help the mild smugness that washed over you.
Without breaking to kiss, you kept your gaze on Chanyeol, making sure he was watching as you slid a hand around the front of Sehun’s throat, and captured his tongue between your lips, sucking gently. If possible, his mouth fell open even wider, eyes looking ready to pop out of his damn skull. Smirking to yourself, you cocked a brow at the gaping man. He visibly swallowed, before his eyes suddenly snapped down. You followed his gaze curiously and nearly scoffed in disbelief.
Of course he’d get a hard on from watching something like this. Nasty fucker.
“He still watching?” Sehun mumbled, detaching his mouth from yours only long enough to get the words out. You hummed softly in confirmation, shivering when you felt the slow upward curl of his lips. “Good. Let’s give him a show.”
In an instant, Sehun pulled you over to straddle his lap. Warm hands roamed over your body, though careful to keep a respectful distance from anything he thought you might not want him touching. You appreciated the sentiment, but with Sehun? You didn’t need respectful.
The younger boy faltered beneath you, chest swelling with a deep inhale when you reached around to grab hold of his wrists and slowly lowered them to the swells of your ass. He groaned roughly, fingers digging greedily into the jean clad flesh and pulling you flush against him.
You gasped when you felt him beneath you, hot and hard right between your hips. The rough friction made you clench and shudder, wetness spilling from your core and soaking through your panties. You probably should have been concerned about the heavy arousal seeping through the thick material of your jeans, but your mind was too far gone in the intoxicating warmth of his kiss that you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
“Fuck, Sehun.” You hissed, hips rolling hungrily over his.
“Baby.” He purred in response, and you swear you nearly had a fucking aneurism on the spot. Baby. Baby. Oh Sehun just called you baby. How long had you waited to hear him call you that? Too fucking long.
A desperate whimper pulsed from your throat, so entirely unlike you that it took even you by surprise. He didn’t seem to mind, pulling you so tightly against him that your ribs ached. But the pain was welcome, melting into a delicious cocktail with the fierce pleasure pulsing through your every cell.
“I don’t think he’s watching anymore.” Sehun breathed, glancing over your shoulder.
“I don’t care.”
You weren’t concerned about Chanyeol any more, far more focused on how Sehun’s lips tasted like mint and honey, and not like alcohol. The fact that he hadn’t drank made you feel even better, if that were possible.
Honest to god you probably would have fucked him right then and there on that couch in front of everyone (and felt damn good about it too) if not for the gentle pressure of Sehun’s fingers digging into your rolling hips, forcing their slow grinding to come to an abrupt halt. You pulled away from him then, completely out of breath and more turned on than you’d been in your entire life. Sehun was in a similar state, panting and flushed, damn near throbbing in the tight confines of his sexy ripped jeans.
“What is it?” You asked, still panting.
He shot you a lopsided grin. “As much as I would love to fuck your brains out in front of all these self centered assholes...” a hand drifted up the line of your body, delicate fingers following the cut of your jaw to trace over the seam of your bottom lip. “I think I’d prefer our first time together to be somewhere a bit more… private? Intimate? Somewhere I can treat you how you deserve to be treated.”
Your heart fluttered in your chest, warmth spreading through your body in thick, invigorating waves.
“What’d you have in mind?” You asked softly, feathering your lips over his. He smiled.
“I know this great pancake place that’s open 24/7, best milkshakes you’ve ever had. Then maybe afterward we could... chill at my place. What do you say?” Laughter bubbled at your lips as he mimicked the same line Chanyeol had used on you earlier with a cheesy grin.
And yet, the feeling was entirely different.
Sucking your lips into your mouth, you nodded shyly, arms going slack over his broad shoulders.
“Only if you’re paying.” You hummed playfully.
“Fine,” he sighed dramatically, “I’ll make an exception to my ‘seniors always pay rule’ just this once. Only for you.”
Only for you.
You could definitely get used to that.

The weeks you spent away from Chanyeol only fueled him, adding gasoline to the flames that were already blistering. He knew there was a limit that you and Sehun could take around each other before things flourished into what he wanted with you, but he knew that he would never be as good as Sehun when it came to taking care of you—emotionally. Out of the two of them, Chanyeol was the one who had edges that were too sharp, ones that could easily rip you to shreds if you got too close; he remembered a time when it was never like that. When it was just the two of them, the best of friends that seemed like nothing could ever break them apart—that is until you showed up, and then it was Sehun to sharpen his edges. Chanyeol saw it with every smile you and Sehun shared; he was going to be a bother in your growing relationship…
“Where’s Baekhyun and Kyungsoo? They already finished their jobs?” Chanyeol asked, but your father didn’t seem too keen on discussing where the other members were.
“They’re conducting some business in Granada with the company party.”
“Does that mean I can go join them since I’ve finished my jobs?” The thought of being able to see you again had his heart pounding in his ears, and it was time that he made up with you and now that he was finished with everything in Shanghai, he could—
“You’re not done here.”
“What do you mean I’m not done?” Chanyeol hissed, the blood coursing through his veins began to boil as your father told him that his jobs in Shanghai weren’t done with, “I’ve completed all the missions you gave to me, why can I not join Sehun and Y/N in Granada?”
“Because you are to stay away from them—”
“You mean you don’t want me to interfere with your shitty version of matchmaking and make Y/N second guess herself…” You were his and no one else’s, Chanyeol wasn’t going to let your father keep him from you, “If you think that she is going to stay with Sehun, you’re just kidding yourself.” He scoffed, slamming his hands down onto the desk, “She is devoted to me and only me, Y/N is mine, and I’m not going to let you take her away from me!”
“Chanyeol!” Your father stood up to face him, trying to back him down to size, “You need to get your head in straight before I send you on your next mission. Go home and clear your head and be here on time tomorrow.” He could see the dark energy filling Chanyeol’s eyes, he knew that he wasn’t going back down from his spot, but his daughter deserved better than Chanyeol, “Go. Now.”
“Fuck you.” Chanyeol bellowed, “At the end of the day, Y/N is mine and will always be mine...” Pushing off the desk, he turned on his heels and made his way to the door.
“Be here tomorrow at seven.”
“Go fuck yourself.” This was going to be the last time that he listened to your father, the man who is so disapproving of him, that he sent his girlfriend and his best friend to another country just to get them together. For years you’ve always been so devoted to Chanyeol, so why now are you putting up a fight? He had cheated on you multiple times before, and you knew about it, but you continued to stay next to him—did your father and Sehun finally get into your head? He needed to get to you before anything happened that couldn’t be changed, needed to make it up to you before you changed your mind and decided to leave him for good.
Tumblr media
The 19-hour flight was long enough for him to hack into your father’s personal accounts and find the hotel you and Sehun were staying at as well as push past the hotel’s firewall and add his name to the room reservation so he wouldn’t have to interrogate the front desk when he arrived. Getting to the room was the easiest part of the whole trip, but now that he was standing in front of the door, his skin prickled with goosebumps as he slid the room key into the lock. Upon walking into the suite, the main living area was empty, but the lights were on; he was suspicious as he walked to the stairs and snuck up them, making sure not to make any noise as he ascended them. The hall to the bedroom was dark, except a little sliver of light escaping an ajar door, the door that led to the bedroom; he approached the crack and peered inside it, his heart immediately dropped into the pit of his stomach. Sehun’s hips we’re flush with your thighs while his body was on top of yours, he didn’t have to watch long to know what was going on—Sehun had finally taken you away from him. The pang in his chest went from painful to numb; anger took over his emotions; Chanyeol balled his fists as he watched Sehun take you in front of his very eyes.
“Sehun...” You whispered between your breathless moans, Sehun pushed up from your body, revealing your face to Chanyeol. He could see the faint red glow in your eyes from where he stood, but he had no idea what was happening, “Someone—” Sehun’s hands caressed your cheeks, and he spoke softly as if he knew Chanyeol was there and he was trying to keep anything he was saying a secret to him, but he heard him.
“You’re safe. It’s just us here. I’ll always keep you safe.” Sehun pressed his lips to yours, silencing any words to escape you.
You’ve got to be kidding me…
He watched as you flipped places, Sehun was under you, and you were taking control of the situation. His eyes followed you as Sehun’s cock disappeared into you and your body bounced on top of him, the moans that fell from your lips were nothing like the ones he was used to hearing—were you just playing with Sehun or were you toying with his feelings?
Tumblr media
The hiss of the shower pulled Sehun from his slumber; the space you filled in the bed was empty. Rolling over, he began to get up when his eyes caught the time; it had only been a few hours since you fell asleep. He stumbled into the bathroom, the bright light stinging his eyes as he made his way to the shower; stepping into the steam-filled space, your back was facing him, water beaded over your skin as you stood there. It wasn’t the first time he had seen you like this, distant, and feeling small. He didn’t have to see your face. He knew you well enough to tell by the way your body held itself together. Fingers gripping your shoulders, arms tight over your chest, face buried in the crossing of your arms—something was on your mind.
“Y/N…” He whispered while wrapping his arms around your waist, “You okay?” He asked, pulling you into him, his lips pressing gentle kisses over your fingers. You were quiet, but you let your arms fall to your side, and you leaned into him, “Did something—”
“Everyone that comes in contact with me… ends up dying…” You breathed, your voice barely making it over the rush of the shower.
“What are you talking about?” He asked, tightening his grip around you. The subtle shaking that took over your body told him that you were scared, the thoughts in your head had dug their claws in so deeply that you could feel them in the real.
“The blood that runs in my veins is of the Lee Clan… That’s why they’re after me…” Sehun felt like his heart had stopped in his chest upon hearing the words that escaped you.
“That can’t be why they’re attacking you. There’s got to be another reason besides that you’re a child of their clan.” People leave their families all the time, and you were adopted, so there just had to be another reason they were after you, Sehun knew that.
“Remember the second man? He said that killing was in my blood. The three boys I murdered, they came to inject a revealer to clear the mind block, and that’s when my memories came flooding back to me… Like a dam had burst open and now I’m drowning in the water…”
“What memories…?”
“Before I was adopted… When Chen and I were kids… We were in a cell together… and I turned him into what he is…” Everything that was leaving your lips wasn’t making sense to him. Turning you around to face him, your dark eyes held a red glow, just flickering like a flame.
“Y/N—”
“They turned me into this monster, and I turned Chen into one, too— I— I’ve killed hundreds before I could even speak—” Sehun cradled your face in his hands, watching as the glow turned brighter the more you panicked, “The man Chen killed said that… he told me that I was an outdated mutation…”
Mutation?
He couldn’t stop watching the flame grow inside your eyes, he always knew there was something different about you the past few weeks, but he never thought that your head would be filled with so much fear, “Y/N, no matter what these people say, you are you and you are the only one in control of what happens to you now… No matter what happens, I’ll be standing right next to you, willing to fight for you, and ready to protect you.” The glow faded with every word of reassurance he was offering you; in all the years that he had known you, he was always there for you, and now that he had you to himself, there was no way he was letting you burst into flames.
“I don’t want to end up losing you, Sehun…” The shaky whisper that you breathed sounded like a goodbye like you were scared to hurt him, so you were going to leave him before he could get tangled up in a mess you didn’t even know you made.
“The only way that you could lose me is if I die, and I don’t plan on doing that, ever, not while you’re still alive…” Pressing his lips to your forehead, he was attempting to melt the agony in your mind, “I love you, and nothing is going to happen while I’m here.” His gentle kiss appeared against your cheek as you closed your eyes, “We’ll end this, and we’ll change our identities…” Warmth brushed over your other cheek, making your heart flutter, “Live in a little cottage in Paris and fill its rooms with children, our children…”
“Promise…?”
“I promise.” Looking up at him, you pushed up onto your toes, raising yourself until your lips crashed into his.
Tumblr media
“Staying with me is only going to get you killed, Sehun.” You growled, throwing your phone through the stillness of the alleyway leading to your hotel.
“What are you going on about?” He whispered, trying to calm you down, but you were past the point of calming—you were gone. The girl that stood in front of him no longer looked like you; deep crimson filled the eyes he fell for, the last shred of happiness he used to see was gone. Blood splattered over your skin as your face became a blur as his body fell to the ground.
“What did she tell you, Sehun?” Chen’s voice filled his ears as he looked up to see blood dripping from his fingers, “It was only a matter of time before she murdered you—”
“No!” Sehun shot up from his pillow; his heart thrashed inside his chest as he looked around the bedroom, finally coming to the realization it was a dream, “Fuck…” He sighed, running his hands over his face. The expression that was burned into his eyes was one that he hoped he would never see on you; he didn’t want to see the demon that laid behind those eyes. Coming back to reality, he noticed the mid-morning sun dancing over the foot of the bed, but then he noticed that your side of the bed was empty—were you really saying goodbye to him last night? Sehun had never imagined that you would leave him, especially since he made a promise to you, and he was the one not to break his promises.
“Y/N…” He heard your name from outside of the bedroom, then your voice responding. Quickly getting up, he made his way out to the top of the stairs to see you standing in front of Suho, Lay, Kai, and Chen that were seated around the table.
“Y/N.” Sehun husked as he walked down the stairs to join the group. You turned to see him, a slight smile coming to your lips, “Why didn’t you wake me?” His lips pressed against your forehead while he wrapped an arm around you.
“You needed sleep.” You hummed, leaning into his touch, “They just got here, so you didn’t miss anything.”
“What’s this?” Lay’s voice interrupted the tender moment, “You’re with Sehun now? When did this happen?”
“None of your business.” You scoffed, rolling your eyes in annoyance like he was your brother who was pestering you about having a boyfriend, “Not to mention, that’s not the reason why we’re all here today.”
“That’s right.” Sehun added, “With the rescue mission of Chen being a success, we need more detail about the Lee Clan from someone who has been under their lock and key.” Chen’s eyes jumped from the floor to you then to Sehun and then back to you as if asking permission to speak on the subject.
“Go ahead, Chen. You won’t be scrutinized for what comes out in this room.” Chen let out a relieved sigh as he leaned back into his chair.
“The Lee Clan has been experimenting on humans since day one of the gathering of the clan. They were looking for a way to make them the most superior in the country, and heaven forbid they ever die out because of trivial things like dying in combat.” Sehun furrowed his brows, listening to Chen when his last statement clicked.
“You’re telling me that—”
“Yuta, Jaemin, Jeno, Jisung, and Taeyong are still alive. The only way to kill them is to mix the blood of an X strain with their own. Ingesting, injecting, anyway that it can get into their body, the X strain mutation will mutilate the Y strain, which is what those boys are.” Sehun glanced your way to see your face drained of any color, but your expression told him that this news didn’t shock you.
“The only way they can make the Y strain is with my blood, right?” You asked, and Chen’s eyes dropped from your gaze.
“Wait…” Suho interjected, “How are they using your blood if you’re an X, and they’re trying to make a Y?”
“I’m no scientist… all I know is that the last time I heard them talk was about needing the main source of the X strain, which would be the first successful turned, which is—”
“Y/N?” Kai cut off Chen, but there was confusion in his voice, “How is that even possible? We’ve known each other since we were young, and you were never held in a lab or even remotely around other people.”
“That’s because I’m of the Lee Clan bloodline. I was put up for adoption when I was a child, way before I met you or either of the boys.” Silence fell around the room; sure it was a shock to the three boys you’ve bonded with since a young age, but Sehun and Chen already knew this, “I guess they’ve had a supply of my blood until now since they’re trying to mass-produce the Y strain.” Sehun stared off into space, lost in the information that was being dumped into his lap. They wanted you for your blood to make more of a genetic mutation to force into people’s bodies? Not only did that news not settle well with him, it included taking you away from him.
“Well, that just means we’re going to have to get you out of town.” Sehun blurted out, causing the room to fall silent once more.
“What?” You asked, looking up at him with a confused expression gracing your face.
“I’m not going to let them get their hands on you.”
“Who said that was your decision to make? To be frank, they're after me. Not you, me. So, why do you think that you get to tell me where I’m to go?” Your harsh tone had Sehun furrowing his brow in anger, he was trying to protect you, so why were you putting up a fight?
“Because I’m to protect you, job or not.”
“I don’t care—as far as I’m concerned, I’m no longer part of your job description! I have put so many lives in danger, and I could end this all if I could just—”
“No, Y/N! If I remember correctly, that man they call Taeyong didn’t care if he took you alive or dead! What makes you think that they won’t just kill you right then and there when you waltz in through their doors?! Huh?!” Sehun couldn’t stop his voice from getting louder with every point he was bringing forth. He could see your face contorting with an expression he’d never seen—a demon with red eyes glared at him like it was hungry for blood.
“Woah—” Chen quickly stood between the two of you, with his back towards Sehun, “Hey, calm down. Think about this, you don’t want to flip on him, do you?” Sehun took a step back, your face coming into view over Chen’s shoulder, “You’re not in any danger, why the flip, Y/N?” Chen’s voice was soothing, a whisper of words like he was trying to calm a wild animal.
“Out of my way, Chen… Sehun and I are not done with our conversation…” Your growled words were enough to make the hair stand on everyone’s skin, was this the X strain taking over?
“I don’t think that’s a good idea—”
“I’m trying to protect people and make sure that the hundreds of people that died didn’t die in vain, and what do I get? Talked down to like I’m a fucking child?!” Chen knew that you were in your right mind, but the mind block removal had all your hidden memories and powers coming back—the abilities you have no control over.
“If you’re going to act like a child, I’ll treat you like a child. We’re leaving this town no matter how badly you want to stay here.” Sehun watched as your eyes darted to his from Chen’s gaze.
“Sehun…” Chen spoke coolly, “I think it’s best that you remove yourself from the room for a while…” Sehun didn’t quite approve of Chen barging into the situation, but he couldn’t deny that the only thing standing in the way of you ripping him a new one was Chen.
Tumblr media
It had been hours since Sehun faced you, Chen kept you separated from him to ensure that you weren’t going to do something you would later regret, but now that it was getting close to dinner time, he knew that you would be starving.
“Chen?” His voice rang out into the living area where everyone remained as Sehun made his way down the stairs, “Where’s Y/N?”
“She’s been on the balcony for the last hour.” Chen replied while glancing towards the glass door, “She’s calmed down for the most part, but I wouldn’t put it past her to still be upset.” Sehun sighed, his anger that subsided wasn’t misplaced, was it so wrong to want to protect you?
“At the end of the day, her safety is all that matters.”
“Who decided that, Sehun?” Suho emerged from the kitchen, “Y/N is trying to right her wrongs, do you blame her?”
“What wrongs—”
“She believes that she is the reason for all those deaths and not the Lee Clan. Imagine being told that hundreds of people died so that you could live? Imagine being experimented on and then being forced to forget everything and then having to remember everything. She is trying to figure out her path…” Lifting his glass to his lips, he took a drink before stating his request, “Let her.” Sehun flicked his eyes over to the balcony to see you pacing, left to right, right to the left. Your face was tight with emotions he couldn’t place, but it was his place to keep you safe, but it was also his place to keep you happy.
“If we stayed, that’s just putting all of us in danger…” He husked.
“We know that, but they’re going to find her regardless of where she runs to. Why not just face it head-on?” Chen added. Sehun knew Chen was right; they found you so quickly there as well as here in Granada—running would do you no good.
“I still have to try to protect her…” All eyes in the room flicked to Sehun as his voice cracked, “I’ve learned to lose her, but now I can’t afford to.noa”
Tumblr media
“You’re taking me to the mall?” You asked as Suho pulled into a parking spot in front of the mall entrance.
“I figured you needed out of that hotel room. After that fight this morning, you and Sehun have been on edge.” You could hear the worry that was hiding in his voice, “You know he loves you, right, Y/N?”
“More than you know.” You loved Sehun. You always had, he was the one that you could go to when you were unsure of yourself or if you needed a shoulder to cry on; you were pretty sure that he was your first love, but the fact he wasn’t giving you wants the time of day was frustrating, “I understand his stance. I know his plan, it’s the same one that we’ve been using for a while… so why can’t he just listen to me?”
“You want to know what he told us?” Suho rasped, turning off the engine, letting the silence fill the space between the two of you.
“Do I want to know?”
“It might change the way you look at him…” He glanced your way to see the gears turning behind your eyes.
“What did he say?” Deep down, you had a feeling, but what Suho spoke into existence had your heart sinking into your stomach.
“He’s had to watch you walk away from him over a million times, and now that he finally gets to be by your side, he doesn’t want to lose you. I tried to get him to understand your side, but as someone who has watched you suffer from being in a relationship with Chanyeol—seeing you with Sehun…” Suho paused, trying to find the right words, “He’s good for you, and I don’t want to see that ruined.” He turned his gaze onto you to see the gears that were turning had stopped like Suho’s statement had made a difference in the plans you were already working on. Dropping your gaze down to your lap, you cleared your throat as you gathered your thoughts.
“Are you sure that he’s the right choice?” You whispered, “What if I turn him into a monster with me or worse… what if I can’t save him from the one I’ve become?”
“You know that he’s going to kill just to be by your sword, as far as I’m concerned, you’ve tamed the monster inside him. As for the question of if he’s the right one… I can’t say he’s the right one, but I know he’s the best one, and he makes you happy, right?”
“Always has…” You hummed.
“Then, you have your answer.” Suho reached over the center console and gently lifted your chin to face him, “Now, if you want to continue with our makeshift way of getting you guys to go on a date, exit the car. Your answer is waiting inside.”
“Hold on, what about—”
“Lay, Chen, Kai, and I are here as protection just in case they show up here.” Suho soothed your worry as he opened his door, “We’re making sure you guys won’t be interrupted.” Sliding out of the car, he closed the door behind him and appeared at yours to open it for you, “Are you ready?”
Tumblr media
Sehun paced back and forth in front of the stained glass entrance of the mall, his nerves making themselves known as the knots in his stomach made it hard for him to breathe, “Sehun, calm down.” Chen sighed, “Being nervous is fine, but watching you pace is making me anxious.”
“Well, excuse me if I’m making you anxious, this is my first date with her, so I don’t want to mess anything up.” Sehun hissed, “That is if she’s no longer upset with me.”
“Wait a minute—this is your first date with Y/N? I thought you guys were already dating?” Chen cocked his head, his confusion speaking loudly.
“Oh, no, man.” Lay spoke up, “She’s been dating his best friend since they were in high school.” Sehun tried to block out their conversation, but the more in-depth they talked, the harder it was to ignore, “Chanyeol was pretty much her life, but Sehun here was practically her knight in shining armor when Chanyeol broke her poor little heart.”
“Man, that’s pitiful that you were just the cleaner-upper in their relationship. Are you sure she doesn’t just stay with you because you’re the only one she can depend on when her life spirals out of control?” Chen’s question didn’t help Sehun’s feelings, just as he was about to scold Chen, a soft voice radiated from behind him.
“I’m with Sehun because it’s always been him, even when I was with Chanyeol, it was always Sehun.” He turned on his heels to see you standing before him, part of him expected your usual aesthetic of dark clothing, but the outfit Suho had suggested for you was gracing your figure. Silence filled the air around the two of you as he took it all in; your cheeks pinked up as your fingers gripped the powder blue fabric of your sundress.
“Is it too much? Suho said it was cute on me, but—”
“You’re perfect, Y/N…” Reaching his hand out to you, Suho nudged you, pushing you into Sehun.
“You two have fun, we’ll be around.” Suho signaled for the rest of the guys to disperse, and you were finally alone with him.
Sehun didn’t have much planned for your date, he just wanted time alone with you, moments where he didn’t feel like he had to be on edge because he was worried that you were going to be attacked, or because you were in the company of another man—he wanted any. Every second he could get with you, even if it was just roaming around the mall. From window shopping to eating in the food court, he wished he could only be in the moment with you, but couldn’t get one thought out of his mind.
“Sehun?” You hummed from beside him, and he looked down at you, “You’re quiet… is something bothering you?”
“Oh…” He let a small laugh escape him as he pasted a smile onto his lips, “Nothing really, I just got lost in thought for a minute.”
“Are you worried that I’m still mad at you for forcing the decision to leave Granada?” His eyes widened at your question—you hit the nail on the head, “I’m not; there’s nothing to be mad at.”
“You seemed pretty upset that I told you that we weren’t going to stay, so can you blame me for being worried?” You stopped in your tracks, and he turned to face you, he could see a faint smile on your lips as your eyes met his. What could’ve changed your mind?
“Just as you, I don’t want to lose something precious to me. If leaving Granada will help keep you with me, then that’s what we’re going to do.” You reached for his hand and slipped your fingers in between the gaps of his, “I love you, Sehun, and… I’m ready to be with you and stay with you.”
“A-are you sure…?” He questioned, “I don’t want you to be with me just because I’m—”
“I was telling the truth when I said it was always you. I do not doubt it.” Your eyes didn’t waver as they stared deeply into his, they were still and heavy as if they were begging for him to believe every word that left your lips; you didn’t only need him to believe your words, but you needed him to believe in you.
“Prove it.” He breathed, “Only after you prove it, will I believe you.”
“How would you like me to prove it?” You asked, your eyes already telling him that you had an idea.
“Any way you want.” A slight smirk appeared on your lips as you turned on your heels.
“Don’t regret what you just said!” Pulling him, you guided him to a shop that had a bright neon red ‘tattoo’ sign above the doors.
“Hold on. You’re getting a tattoo?” Sehun furrowed his brow, and you looked over your shoulder as you entered and walked up to the desk.
“Not just me, you’re getting one, too.” Sehun just stared at the back of your head as you spoke to that man at the front counter about the tattoos.
“That’s all you want to get?” The man asked, and you nodded your head.
“Something super simple for two complex creatures.” The man gave you a slight nod and waved the two of you back into one of the rooms that looked set up minus the put together tattoo machine.
“Are you sure about this, Y/N? Tattoos are permanent…” Sehun rested his hand on your shoulder, and you placed your hand over his.
“And so is your presence in my life.” Your voice sounded so sure, there was no change in pitch or any waver in your tone—you were serious.
“Alright, little lady.” The man sat down on his chair as he hooked the machine up to the power supply, “Hop up in the seat.” You did as you were told, and within seconds, the needle began inking a thin red line around the base of your pinky, as any tattoo artist would, he asked you the same question that many have heard before, “So what’s the story behind this red line?” Sehun himself was interested in your sudden tattoo, so he stepped closer to you, getting a better view of your face.
“The red string of fate is a belief stemming from Chinese mythology. It’s an invisible red cord wrapped around a couple’s pinkies connecting them to their true love. Getting it tattooed is basically like an act of gamble. The moment that you enter into any kind of relationship, it's an act of faith—” Your eyes fluttered with the surge of pain that the needle was gifting you, but you continued, “You're giving yourself up, and that’s the most powerful thing that anyone can do: surrender and love is an act of surrender.” Moving your eyes over to Sehun, he could see the girl he knew a long time ago as you smiled gently, “So in other words, I’m telling him that ‘I’m giving myself to you’ with the trust of the needle entering our skin making a permanent red string of fate.” A slight smile tugged at the corners of his lips, hearing your reasoning behind the tattoo—that was all you needed to say for him to believe you.

The silence that filled the evening air was a comfortable one, the quiet scuff of feet over the pavement, the hum of the city just feet away from you, and the warmth that filled your hand was enough to soothe the ache around your pinky, “Thank you for today.” You hummed while squeezing his hand, “I needed it.”
“Don’t thank me, any time I get to spend with you is worth it.” Sehun lifted the back of your hand to his lips, gently burning the shape of his kiss into your skin.
“I love you, Sehun, and I’m sorry it took me this long to see.” Pulling your hand away from his lips, his eyes landed on the matching thin red rings around your pinkies and couldn’t help smiling.
“I don’t need you to apologize, I’m just glad that I can finally enjoy my time with you without having to worry about Chanyeol.” A small laugh left you as you leaned into him, your head landing against his arm.
“You don’t have to worry about him. If anything, I’ll be the one to deal with him.” That’s right, you were always the one to deal with Chanyeol when he got out of hand or had something to say that was derogatory towards Sehun. He always thought he was protecting you from him, but now that he thought about it, you were protecting him too, “Oh yeah— Where are the guys? I thought they were our bodyguards tonight?”
“Oh?” Sehun dug his phone from his pocket and unlocked it to show you the text he sent Suho, “I figured the least I could do is walk us home, I think we earned a little privacy.”
“You planning to seduce me, Sehun?” He could see the mischievous smirk appearing on your lips.
“Would you turn me down if I said yes?” His hand slipped from your grip to wrap around your waist, “I may not be able to stop like—” A sharp pinch at his neck caused him to stop mid-sentence, and his vision started to blur.
“What are you doing?!” He could hear your scream clear as day, but his body refused to move or respond, “No! Get—get off of me! No!” Your shrill scream only seemed to fade as Sehun’s mind drifted into darkness.

**
You weren’t so much as “packing” as you were throwing clothes into the suitcase that was currently lying open on your bed. Sure, everything would be wrinkled and disorganized, but your annoyance and frustration refused to let you care. You weren’t even paying much attention to what you were grabbing from the closet and dresser drawers. All you were told was to pack enough clothes for a long stay.
A long stay. What did that entail? A few weeks? A month? Until the blood moon? And what if the blood moon arrived and nothing happened? Would you have to stay until the next one after that or would be allowed to come home until the next vision hit?
After throwing the pair of jeans in your hands towards the mountain forming in your suitcase, you landed hard on your back on top of the messy covers, whining the whole way. Hands folded on your stomach, you stared up at the ceiling, contemplating your life.
The only thing you wanted was to be left alone. You wanted the visions to leave you alone. You wanted the elder witches to leave you alone. Hell, sometimes you even wanted Soomi to leave you alone. You wanted to be allowed to be who you were without someone trying to channel the path you were supposed to take.
It wasn’t fair. It was like you weren’t allowed to make any mistakes. Markl could accidentally make Mother Adansonia lose her eyebrows and Martha could mix up the potions and cause the whole coven to fall asleep for an entire weekend, but you weren’t allowed to even spill a cup of water. You had to keep all toes in line. You had to basically do the impossible and be perfect. Or else you would be considered a danger to the world and the mothers could take drastic action.
Now you were being forced to leave and… do what, exactly? What were you supposed to do once you reached the wolves? Say “hey there’s this weird blonde woman who’s going to do… something on the blood moon? We don’t know yet but we thought you mutts might have an idea?”
You snorted to yourself. Yeah. You couldn’t wait for that conversation.
A soft knock came from your door and Soomi poked her head inside the room. “Are you almost ready?”
You sat up, folding your hands in your lap. “Um, yeah. Almost.”
But your answer couldn’t hide the monstrous pile beside you. Shaking her head, Soomi stepped in and started folding your clothes for you, arranging them in a somewhat organized manner that would allow the luggage to close when the time came.
“This might not be all bad,” Soomi insisted. You gave her a side eyed glance that let her know how much you believed her, but stayed quiet. “Their farmhouse is surrounded by woods, a little less than an hour outside the city.”
“More total isolation,” you murmured. “Joy.”
Mother Willow’s cottage wasn’t completely all alone out here. The other mothers’ homes were scattered around in a randomized fashion, their only connection being a gravel road that most ordinary humans could never find. Every once in a while, a stray hiker would stumble across the coven, but Mother Sumire had a talent in memory potions disguised as lemonade.
It was a rare treat for you to be able to venture into town. Mother Willow would sometimes send you to get groceries or allow you to buy new clothes at the tiny boutiques, but you were never alone. You felt like a parolee under strict observation. If they turned their backs, you’d be on the run. And maybe they were on to something. The thought had never really crossed your mind until now, running away. Really the only thing stopping you was the fact that you had nowhere to go. You didn’t know how to truly function in non-magic society. The coven had been your entire world and the idea of not having it to fall back on was terrifying.
Besides, you couldn’t break Soomi’s already fragile heart.
“I was implying that you could have quite a bit of alone time,” Soomi hinted at with a side glance of her own. “To practice….”
You scoffed. “You wouldn’t rat me out?”
Soomi pursed her lips, keeping her focus on folding the shirt in her hands. “I am saying nothing of the kind. There are all different kinds of plants for you to study there. That’s all I meant.”
Of course. “I’m sure I can find sort of leaf that I haven’t seen before.”
With your suitcase properly packed now, Soomi zipped it closed and turned to you. Sadness and worry glistened in her eyes. Cupping the back of your head in her hand, she kissed the top of your head. “I’ll be out at the car when you’re ready.”
Alone once again, you took a few last mental pictures of your room. Would it be covered in dust by the time you got back? Would you be coming back? An ominous feeling was settling in the pit of your stomach. Things would be different after this trip, there was no doubt about that. You couldn’t verbalize what it was that would change or be altered, but you had a feeling that you were starting down a path that would take you to a place you couldn’t come back from.
Sliding your suitcase off the bed and pulling up on the collapsible handle, you rolled the bits of your life that you were taking with you out of that room and down the hall to whatever unknown future awaited you.

Sehun sat at the table of the coffee shop, staring blankly out the window. People - ordinary people with ordinary lives - passed on by in groups of twos and threes. They laughed and chatted amongst themselves as they gripped their shopping bags or pushed their strollers down the sidewalk to their next destination. Leaning forward, he took a long sip of the bubble tea in front of him.
Luhan was late, but that was nothing new. He was always antsy leaving his mate, terrified that even after all these months, her old organization would hunt her down and take her away. Not that he could be blamed, but Harper insisted that she’d covered her tracks and made it seem like she’d perished in the explosion that destroyed several buildings on their compound. Her sister – the only one in her family to know the truth - was sworn to secrecy and no one had even come sniffing around their town as far as they knew.
Sehun snorted. Sniffing around. His jokes were getting about as bad Junmyeon’s.
“Do you want another one?”
Straightening up, Sehun turned to see who’d offered him another drink. It was Jinyoung’s coworker – Mia or Mandy or… something that started with “M”. He looked down to find that his drink was, in fact, empty save for a few surviving boba. When did that happen?
“No, thank you,” Sehun answered flatly. “I’ll be fine.”
“Are you sure?” she smiled coyly at him. “It’d be on the house.”
As tempting as a free drink was, he didn’t care to accept the implications behind it. “No, thank you,” he repeated. “I don’t need another one.”
Unfortunately, she wasn’t deterred in the slightest. “Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me.” She winked at him before turning away, nearly colliding with the body that was running towards the table. “Oh, hey, Luhan.”
Sehun perked up. Finally.
“Hey, Marcie!” Luhan waved as he collapsed in the chair across from Sehun. He gave an apologetic look. “Sorry, I’m late.”
Sehun shrugged, holding back the pout that was pushing on his lips. “It’s fine. I get it.”
“But we rarely get to hang out anymore,” Luhan went on.
And whose fault is that, Sehun really wanted to ask. But the true answer was no one. It wasn’t anyone’s fault. Luhan had found his mate and then nearly lost her. He couldn’t blame the wolf for wanting to make up for lost time. The only trade off was Sehun being left in the dust.
Luhan glanced over his shoulder and smirked. “Marcie’s really got a thing for you.”
Not really caring for the direction of the conversation, Sehun kept his focus on the straw that was housed in his cup, “So?”
Realizing the fruitless effort, Luhan sighed. “Never mind.”
Sehun held back the sigh of relief. When will the others realize that he simply wasn’t interested?
As if she heard her name from all the way on the other side of the café, Marcie came back over, a cup of water in one hand and a napkin in the other.
“In case you get thirsty,” she practically purred as she put both objects down and walked away.
Sehun took one look at the napkin and groaned. “Okay, let’s go.”
Luhan tilted his head. “Why? I just got here.”
“Too bad.” Sehun stood up, the legs of the chair scraping against the fake wooden floor. “You should have been on time.”
“At least let me- ah!” Luhan snickered when his eyes finally landed on the napkin. Marcie’s number was written carefully across the paper in blue ink. The older wolf started to reach for it, but Sehun’s reflexes were faster and he slammed the plastic cup down on top before it could be snatched away.
“Leave it,” Sehun demanded through gritted teeth. Luhan rolled his eyes and stood up, obeying the request. Both of them left the café without a single glance towards the cash register. Sehun didn’t care if her feelings were hurt. She should have gotten the message the first time around.
Quickly forgetting the encounter, the two of them hurried down the sidewalk towards the hair supply store. That was the real reason Sehun had called Luhan out. He needed one last opinion to see if he should really do this or not. Or to tell him no so he could solidify his resolve to do it.
Some might say it was an attention thing. And maybe it was. Maybe it was a test to see who noticed or how even cared. Either way, he needed a drastic change. Something that would shift his world even in the slightest of ways. His life had become too routine, too mundane. And that was saying a lot for a supernatural creature.
“I thought you had plenty of dye at home?” Luhan asked once they reached the hair color section.
Sehun shrugged as he roamed over the different selections available in front of him. “It’s all the same. I want to try something else.”
“Sure,” Luhan nodded. “Everyone wants a change. And too many of us are blon- whoa, what are you doing?”
Picking up one of the more radical colors, Sehun simply raised an eyebrow before moving on to the sheers. “Do you think Hae In could help me with this part?”
Luhan stared at the youngest wolf in disbelief. “When you said different… you really meant it, didn’t you?”
“Kind of the point, Luhan,” Sehun replied dryly.
Knowing that he wouldn’t be able to talk him out of it, Luhan sighed. “Actually, I think Kimberly will be the one to ask. I’d be a little terrified of the idea of Hae In with scissors near my face.”
Sehun thought it over before nodding in agreement. “You’re right. Let’s go.”
He headed towards the front before he could even think about changing his mind.
**
The sun was completely gone by the time you arrived at the farmhouse. Soomi put the car in park near the front porch and gently shook you awake. High pitched groans and whines vibrated in your throat as you sat up and rubbed your eyes.
“Hey, sleepyhead,” Soomi giggled at you.
You frowned at her through squinty eyes before yawning and stretching out your limbs. The only light to see by came from the front porch and from the heavy duty spotlight on top of the giant detached garage. The long, two-story house was planted near the edge of the giant circular field. Soomi was right, they really were in the middle of the woods. Nothing but trees filled your vision no matter which direction you looked.
“Come on.” Soomi cut off the engine and popped the trunk before hopping out of her seat. You followed behind at a slower pace, still partially asleep from your less than satisfactory nap.
Suitcase in hand, you shut the trunk lid and struggled up the stairs of the porch. Maybe you’d packed a little too much.
With her dainty little fist, Soomi knocked on the door. At first, you thought she’d done it a little too softly as the two of you stood there, nothing happening. With how late it was, you were sure most – if not all – the habitants were asleep. You really didn’t feel like waiting out here all night. Rolling your eyes, you lifted your own knuckles to hit it harder when the door suddenly swung open.
Junmyeon, leader of the pack and Soomi’s once-upon-a-crush, stood the doorway, his eyelids flickering from being up so late.
Soomi chewed on her bottom lip guilty. “I’m sorry, Junmyeon, we meant to come earlier.”
“No, don’t apologize,” the alpha motioned at the two of you. “Come on in.” He opened the door wider and took ahold both of suitcases, lifting them and taking them inside the house with barely any effort on his part.
“Thank you, again, for doing this, Junmyeon,” Soomi sighed as she shut the door behind you.
Junmyeon shook his head as put the suitcases down next to the couch. “No, Soomi, you’re the one who should be thanked. You’ve been keeping us informed about what could be coming since the beginning and you didn’t have to. You have your own family to worry about. I’m sure once the boys hear about what else (y/n)’s seen, they’ll start taking it a little more seriously.”
You fought the urge to make some sort of snide comment. It wasn’t surprising that the wolves weren’t concerned in the slightest over your little visions. If they weren’t coming to you in the first place, you wouldn’t think much of them either.
But you could feel the dark cloud that came with each scene. The fear, the evil. Each one came with a presence, a lingering darkness that you couldn’t see but absolutely terrified you. Whenever you relayed the episodes to Soomi, you’d downplayed your worry. But you couldn’t stop figuratively glancing over your shoulder as if that presence would personify at any moment.
Had it already in the shape of that woman?
“Are they all asleep already?” Soomi asked.
Junmyeon nodded. “I told them that you were coming, but not when. I thought it best that the two of you rest before meeting them. They can be… rambunctious at the best of times. I didn’t want to overwhelm (y/n).”
“I remember how they can be,” Soomi chuckled softly. Glancing at you, she sighed. “I guess we can just crash here for now.”
“Actually, one of the guys is in town with his mate. You can take his room for the night. We’ll figure out your long term place in the morning.”
Soomi pursed her lips. “If you’re sure that won’t be a problem….”
“Not at all,” Junmyeon insisted. “Jongin would volunteer anyway if he were here. Let me show you to the room. You must be exhausted.”
As if on cue, you yawned, earning a chuckle out of the elders in the room.
Careful not to make too much noise, you followed the alpha up the stairs towards one of the rooms in the middle of the long hallway. He opened the door and ushered you inside before turning on the light.
“The bathroom is across the way in case you need it,” he told the two of you softly. “In the morning just come down whenever you’re ready. We’ll have breakfast for you.”
“Thank you,” Soomi nodded.
At your silence, she elbowed you in the stomach. You scowled at her before muttering, “Thanks.”
Junmyeon didn’t seem to take offense, laughing to himself. “Good night.”
As soon as the two of you were alone, you dived into your suitcase, pulling out the large t-shirt and comfortable shorts you’d packed away to sleep in. When you were changed, you hopped in between the covers and settled in. Soomi moved at a slightly slower pace, taking her time before shutting off the light and climbing in beside you.
“Soomi?” you whispered after a few minutes of silence.
“Hm?” Great. She was already drifting off to sleep.
“How long do you think we’ll be here?” Not exactly what you wanted to ask, but you decided against the more emotional road while she was only partially awake.
“Until the blood moon, probably,” she murmured. You didn’t ask anything else and soon she was fast asleep beside you.
You lied there, staring up at the ceiling for what seemed like ages. While you were completely drained, your mind refused to shut off and let you get some rest. Your eyes fought to stay closed, but that wasn’t the same as being off in dreamland.
While your mind was churning over how the morning’s events would play out, your ears picked up on the squeak of floorboards outside. Never the one to turn down your curiosity, you carefully slid out of bed and tiptoed over to the door. Praying that the hinges didn’t squeak, you pulled the door open at a snail’s pace. Right in front of you, there was nothing. Then, you risked peeking your head out farther.
Your eyes took a second to adjust to the dimly lit area. Just as they were able to interpret what they were seeing, you found the source of the noise. Down at the other end of the hallway, a door was opened. One of the wolves must have come home late. You didn’t see much of him, just the broad shoulders hidden under a plain t-shirt before he disappeared into the bedroom. Shrugging at the anticlimactic discovery, you closed your own door and headed back to the bed to, hopefully, finally get some rest before the next big adventure that waited for you in the morning.

Unforeseen Forecast
A bet that Sehun thought would be too easy to win turned out to be harder than he thought...

From that unexpected and unwelcome visit from your father, your feelings of revenge only intensified, pushing you back into the right mindset that you had somehow let Sehun push you out of with his perfect smile and practiced gaze of warmth.
Willing yourself to somehow forget about the slightest ounce of guilt you had begun to feel from playing the same game he was playing with you, you managed to hide your distaste from him, replacing them just in time with innocent smiles and allowed him to give you kisses and embrace you-which might have fooled you before, but thanks to your newfound resolve, you knew better than to fall back into that trap.
You agreed to go anywhere he wanted and cuddled close to him wherever you went-when appropriate-studying his expressions and body language with a close eye and smirked inwardly to find him become uncharacteristically shy. Eyes squeezing shut with a seemingly genuine smile gracing his lips, his body would mold into yours, his arms cinching tight around your form.
It seemed to be going well, and now that there was only about two weeks left or so before the three months were up, you could only imagine how uneasy he was feeling, often catching him gazing off into the distance, worrying his bottom lip between his teeth with that infamous furrow between his brows.
However... there were things you couldn’t help but worry about.
Sehun was an even better actor than you were.
You obviously weren’t the first girl he had managed to trick with his faultless expression and the sweet nothings he had perfected over the years of deceiving and repetition.
So even if there was a possibility that you had somehow moved him, swayed him, got him to fall for you along the way... there was really no way for you to know for sure.
You couldn’t just ask him, “Hey, I know this is only apart of the bet, but when you inevitably say those three words, will their meaning hold any real value to them?”
He had to act like he was in love with you anyway, and it drove you crazy not knowing if it was all just a horrible act... or would you really hurt him in the end?
You couldn’t help but think about the many nights out on the cliff on the hood of his car, tangled in each other’s embrace as the two of you discussed the trauma you two encountered during your childhood and finding comfort in one another.
He had seemed so sincere...
Then it brought you right back to where you started. He played with countless girl’s emotions, rendering them to tears and humiliation... so shouldn’t he experience the same fate?
Or should you stop while you were ahead and face the fact that you had to go to therapy for subjecting someone through this for what your father did years ago?
Groaning, you let your head flop into the palms of your hands, a migraine no doubt starting to form the more you got lost in your thoughts.
Ugh, maybe you should just stop this whole thing.
The sound of your phone vibrating against your counter had you lifting your head and you reached for the rectangular device with unsteady hands.
From: Sehun Want to come over? I have something to tell you
Your heart was trying to jump out of your chest as you read and reread the last six words of his text, countless scenarios playing out in your head as you tried to decipher what it could be that he had to tell you.
... Would he confess that it’s been a bet all along?
Or would he confess to you something different entirely?
Typing then deleting, the same tedious action, you finally sent a reply before heading to the bathroom, your stomach in knots at the thought of how tonight was going to end.
From: You Yeah, how about seven?? I have something to tell you too just send me the address and I’ll meet you there
Tumblr media
“Why are we at your house?” You quizzically uttered as Sehun ushered you into his pitch black house that seemed more fitting to be a mansion rather than a home.
He offered a weak and nervous laugh in return, reaching around to scratch at the hairs at the back of his neck-his tell that you always found him doing when he was anxious. “I wanted us to be somewhere where we could talk in private, with no one spying in on our conversation.”
“What do you mean?” You slowly got out, his words not sitting right in the pit of your stomach as your corneas stung as he suddenly and silently flipped the switch to the light, and all you could see was white before the surroundings became clear to you. “Wow.”
You completely forgot about the tenseness that seemed to have made a permanent home in your joints as you ogled at the glamorous dining and living room that graced your eyes.
Sehun’s house looked like it belonged in a magazine for fancy living, the leather couches, gigantic television, spotless glass tables and china displayed perfectly in a huge cabinet that tied the whole ambiance together... though, you noted with some sadness that although it looked lovely, it was like this was a model home.
It looked like no one lived here.
Envisioning your much less glamorous living and dining room, you didn’t have the latest and nicest appliances... but it felt like a home. You could tell from the numerous frames that contained pictures of you, your brother, your mother, and just about every other relatives in the family. As you wandered farther, the sorrow further implanted itself in your chest as you saw not one picture of Sehun or of his father, or anyone.
“Yeah, everyone has the same reaction whenever they see my house for the first time,” Sehun’s tight piped from behind you and you jumped as you somehow forgot his presence, him offering a tight lipped smile as he slowly led you to the couch that you were admittedly a bit afraid to sit in. “I’m sorry, you can look around more later if you want, I just... I have something to tell you and I have to tell you now because what I’m about to tell you... is important to me.”
You were sure he could very well hear the violent thump thump thumping of your heart, as you two sat facing each other, the air heavy with anticipation and tension.
He was going to tell you about the bet.
He was going to confess...
... and you’d forgive him.
If he confessed, it had to mean that he at least felt guilty, right? That would prove to you that he wasn’t as selfish and uncaring as you made him out to be, right?
That you could overlook his past, and yours, and learn to overcome your fears of love and commitment... with him.
“I love you.”
Those three words rendered you motionless, as if you had just turned to stone, unblinking and your breath caught in your throat as you stared at him, his own seemingly worried eyes staring right back at you, flitting over every inch of your face, trying to decipher anything that would give away what you were currently feeling.
At first, your heart just about burst with joy.
He loved you, he told you himself!
You two could make it work, everything would be alright...
Then, came the recollection of certain words that had been said when they thought you weren’t listening.
“She looks like a loner who hasn’t had the attention of a male in a long time.”
“We’ll give you three months to have her say, ‘I love you’, and we’ll give you whatever you want.”
“Fine, but I don’t think I’ll need all three months. I bet I can get her to say it in one.”
So in the end, it was all about the bet for him.
Trying your best to not let your expression falter in front of him, trying your best to not let the damn tears fall and not to show how your heart was breaking, you snatched your hand from his and jumped up from the couch like something had bitten you.
Sehun’s hand lay motionless on the seat of the cushion, flinching at your sudden movement away from him, his expression turning into one of puzzlement as you muttered, “I can’t do this anymore.”
Mouth fluttering open and shut, he mumbled with a thick voice, “What?” You had his full attention, his entire form crestfallen as you forced yourself to repeat yourself, this time a bit more clearly. “Why?”
That one word broke your heart and you wanted to take your words back and take him into your arms, knowing his feelings were fake and he was only acting to win that stupid bet, but... you wanted to take him in your arms all the same, ready to torture yourself for his sake.
But it was killing you and you really couldn’t do it anymore.
How dumb of you... for thinking you could ever change his heart.
And shame on you... for knowing what a self-centered, egoistic person he was and falling for him anyway.
As much as you wanted to believe him and his words, you knew better, though it was a bit too late. He slowly stood up as well, movement slow and heavy as if you would run away if he moved too quick, his eyes trained on your face. “I’ve never felt this way for anyway, I’m serious. I really... love you, Y/N.”
Love?
You wanted to laugh in his face.
Did he expect you to say it back?
And once you did?
He’d wipe that pitiful look right off his face and snicker with that evil smirk he pulled off so well.
Then he’d tell you what you already knew... but you’d beat him to the punch.
“I know about the bet.” You admitted softly, silencing his trembling lips and froze him where he stood, his face began to turn desperate as he shook shake his head back and forth, brows furrowing as he refused to take his eyes off you for even a second. You smiled softly at him as you whispered, nodding in encouragement, “So you can stop pretending now.”
Heavy breaths leaving his lips, he attempted to say something, but only could continuously shake his head, as if not believing any of this was happening right now. His eyes still had yet to leave your face, and you swore you could see tears in his eyes, the usual liveliness and sparkle in his eyes long gone and replaced with an emptiness.
He must be so upset you rid him of his gloating opportunity, his big chance to tell you that all this was a sick joke.
“How?” He uttered that single syllable with such brokenness your own brows furrowed at how devastated he sounded.
“I’ve known all along. I overheard you, Baekhyun and Jongdae talking about me in the classroom that day. That I’d be a really fun bet.” You kept strict hold of your expression, glaring at him as he sputtered in front of you, taking a step back as he stumbled one towards you, shame splayed on his face at your withdraw from his advances.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N, I’m so sorry, I...” he croaked, covering his face with his hands as he tried to gain control of his erratic breathing. Your carefully managed stoic expression began to crumble as you watched him break in front of you.
This is what you wanted. You wanted him to feel the same as all the other girls before you felt, you wanted revenge; not only for you, but for them as well.
But the pain in your chest reminded you that hate was not all that was felt from you to this beautiful but blemished, damaged man.
“What are you sorry for?” You questioned with faux casualness. His head shot up from his hands, and your heart constricted with the visual of the tears drying on his cheeks. “I got what I wanted. You crying over me the way all those girls cried over you. Really, I should be thanking you for granting me my wish.”
You were taking it too far, bile wanting to rise up your throat the moment the false words left your mouth, your body wanting to curl up into itself the moment you heard a sob leave him, the moment you saw him crumble to his knees as he looked up at you in apparent agony.
“You were just pretending this whole time?” He downright pleaded with you with his dejected gaze, urging you to admit that you were really lying.
“Just like you were,” you retorted with a hard expression, crossing your arms over your chest as you gazed at him with an unwavering stare.
Sounds of protest left him as he shook his head, his expression turning frantic as well as his tone. “No! No, I... A-At first, yeah okay, I was pretending, but...” he trailed off, licking his lips as he helplessly shuffled closer to you, grabbing hold of your hand before you could pull away. “the more I got to know you... your beautiful smile and your kind soul, Y/N, I fell for you so fast.”
Not letting yourself fall back into his trap, you shook yourself out of his tight hold. “Yeah, right. Just admit it, I was just another bet to you.”
“I swear you weren’t!” He sobbed, head bent so all you could see was his lean frame tremble with his cries, and you stopped yourself just in time to keep from running a comforting hand through his hair-something you knew always calmed him down. “I don’t even care about the bet anymore, I swear. I love you Y/N, I really do.”
“Yeah, well...” you trailed off nonchalantly, each fiber of your being wanting to destroy itself, you knew you weren’t going to be able to hold it together much longer, you had to end this. “I don’t love you, since this was all a joke and all.”
He continued to shake his head, his hiccups and sobs mixing together and you let a tear drop before you shakily wiped it away quickly before he could see. “Looks like you didn’t win the bet after all, what a shame. I’ll let myself out, leave you to... sort yourself out.”
Keeping your cries to yourself as best you could, you opened the door which seemed a ton heavier than it did when you first arrived, you turned back to see him in the same position, his cries having quieted down a little as you uttered something true, “If you really do love me, you’d leave me alone.”

Chapter 5: Sehûn
Tumblr media
Sehûn pulled you up by one arm. “Come,” he said, a sharpness to his words even as he whispered lowly.
“I’ve been waiting for my turn.”

To your surprise, Sehûn didn’t tie you up. He kept a firm grip on your arm, however, pulling you this way and that as he led you through hallway after hallway.
You assumed that this was where they lived, where they convened to plan out their attacks.
And of course, to bring their victims.
He walked you towards a large set of double doors, quickly extending a hand towards the handles. A small gust of wind pushed them down, and the doors slowly swung open.
This new room was dark, filled with rows of floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides. Long, flowing sapphire-blue curtains hung from each one, swaying in the breeze from the open windows. From the glimpses that you caught, it was still nighttime outside. It couldn’t have been too long since you were being held outside.
Sehûn marched you down the length of the room, using the wind to bring a chair to him before pushing you down into it. Even now in a room this spacious, Sehûn didn’t tie you down. He merely backed away, studying you with his arms crossed over his chest. “Don’t even think about running,” he cautioned. “I could have you killed in mere seconds.”
You eyed the bow still strapped to his back, all skepticism thrown out the window. He was right —  you’d likely be hit by one of his arrows as soon you jumped out of your seat.
Sehûn didn’t say much, eyes flickering from your keys then up to your face, and back again. You didn’t make any effort to break the silence, your stare as hard as steel and frigid as ice.
“I don’t understand,” he began. “I’ve heard of these keys, but I never imagined how difficult they would be to acquire.”
Sehûn started to circle your chair, his mustard-yellow suit a bright beacon in the dark room. “My brothers told me these were made of powerful magic, ancient magic that had probably existed since the beginning of our universes.”
He paused, stopping directly behind your seat. You could feel his fingers brushing your hair aside, tickling at the nape of your neck. Sehûn lifted one finger, about to trace over the delicate metal chain of your necklace when his hand was pushed back.
“How strange,” he murmured, curious rather than frustrated, unlike his brothers. “Your whole necklace is enchanted, and not just the keys like I had thought.” Sehûn walked back around until he was facing you, towering over you with that blank expression of his. “Why is that?”
You kept silent, although internally you were so relieved that you could cry. If he had managed to get the necklace off, that would be the end for you. They’d have you killed in an instant, and all magical attachments tying the keys to you would be transferred to him.
To a monster.
Sehûn didn’t seem concerned by your lack of response — if anything, he seemed to have been expecting it. “Strange magic, indeed. Completely different from ours.” He chewed on his thumbnail as he thought, gaze trained on something in the distance as he stared out a window.
You shifted in your seat, regretting it when Sehûn’s sharp eye was back on you. He shook his head, reaching around and taking the bow from his back. He weighed it carefully in both hands, fingers running carefully, lovingly, over the weapon.
“Suhø said you were smart. He didn’t tell me that you were a bad listener. I would hate to have to use this on you,” he drawled out.
You licked at your lips, trying to get rid of the dryness in your mouth. “Sehun, please. It doesn’t have to be like this. Our universes lived in peace, once. We can stop this senseless war and come together, combine our forces to protect both of our homes, the people that we love.”
Sehûn scoffed, shifting his weight to one leg as his eyes narrowed. “I have no home anymore. Your people made sure of that. Is it wrong to want power, to want to protect what is yours? Your world has always been suspicious of us, grasping at straws to accuse us of any little thing that you could. It has always been part of Exoplanet’s plan to get rid of us.”
“That’s not true, and you know it,” you whispered. “We had a common enemy, Sehun. The Red Force has brought pain and destruction to both of our worlds, and to many other universes. If we worked together, we could defeat the Red Force and their allies, in every universe. Both of our worlds could survive.”
Sehûn’s face darkened, your attempts at persuasion bringing about unwanted results. “That could never happen. You think you’re smart enough to seduce me to your side, to make me believe in these sweet lies that you feed me. There can only be room for one of us, and I intend for it to be X-EXO,” Sehun said, voice growing louder in his anger.
This was the most emotion you had seen him exhibit thus far. Lying beneath his passive exterior lay a simmering pool of hatred, of blame towards your people.
“You and your beloved Gatekeepers locked us behind your doors, forced us into a corner with no way out until it was all too easy for the Red Force to pick us off, one by one. But you wouldn’t understand that, would you? Your people live in a utopia, oblivious to your actions, to the suffering of people elsewhere.” Sehûn spat these last words out, eyes blazing with a growing rage.
Suddenly, he lifted his bow, docking an arrow and pointing it in your direction. You barely had enough time to push yourself off of your seat, running towards a wall as Sehûn’s arrow pierced the back of your chair. Just a second too late, and that arrow would have made its mark in your chest.
You scrambled away from your spot as Sehûn readied another arrow, keeping your head low as arrow after arrow flew in your direction. There was barely enough time to pause and catch your breath, Sehûn’s nearly impeccable aim keeping you on your toes. You had a fleeting thought of jumping from one of the windows, but who knew what lay underneath.
For all you knew, you were already in the pits of Hell.
Gasping and face drenched with sweat, you barely missed getting hit as an arrow hit the wall only a couple of centimeters away from you. How many arrows did he have on him?!
Sehûn smiled triumphantly as he took aim, arm pulling back when a sudden flash of bright light engulfed the room. You covered your eyes instinctively, the blinding radiance of light visible even behind your eyelids.
And as soon as it came, the light was gone.
Lowering your arms, you hoped that it was another hidden bit of magic that your keys had. All of the blood drained from your face once you realized who it was.
“Baekhyun.”

A/N: Trying to pick a setting for this chapter was harder than I thought? I kept going back to the MV and was like “alright, curtains, lots of arrows” LOL I was going to make it like a throne room?? But X-EXO is more of a rogue group than royalty, so I’m stuck with vague room with lots of windows (like at Versailles haha)

-Jongin’s P.O.V-
I paced around the room, concerned over the news we had heard earlier. A few hours ago Sehun got an email from an unknown sender. It didn’t say anything but it had one picture attached to it. None of us could’ve predicted that the picture would be of Y/N in a wedding dress standing next to Baekhyun who was decked out in a tux. It didn’t take a genius to figure out they were getting married but even seeing how obvious it was it hurt like hell. The feeling of regret that had washed over me was overwhelming. I knew that it was no else’s fault but my own that she ended up in his hands. If I hadn’t forced her to kill Jieun she would’ve still been here with us. Now she’s in his clutches, forever and there didn’t seem like there was a damn thing we can do about it.
“Jongin...someone’s here.” Sehun said quietly from his perch on the couch, his eye glued to the screen.
I pulled out my gun immediately, knowing it was one of Baekhyun’s men from the tone Sehun had used. I went to open the door before he had the chance to walk up the walkway. I pointed my gun at his head without hesitation, my eyes cold as I glared at him.
“Please...I didn’t know where else to take her…” He said, almost begged as he looked down at her in his arms.
I followed his gaze, my body freezing at the sight, my arm falling back down to my side. I was in shock, my feet glued to the ground. I opened my mouth to say something but closed it shut, no words coming out. I didn’t have too much time to recollect myself as I was shoved aside, Sehun running passed me. He must’ve seen from the security cameras. He stood over her for a moment before taking her from his arms, walking quickly inside.
“Y/N…” I mumbled to myself, trying to reach out for her but I retracted my hand.
I stood stunned, frozen to the ground. I couldn’t find the strength to follow after them, my heart sinking to the pit of my stomach. I finally snapped out of it at hearing him move to follow after them but I stopped him. I raised my gun and pointed it at him, my eyes showcasing nothing else but the anger I was feeling. I was angry that she was in this state, angry that I wasn’t there to protect her, angry at the fact that this was all my fault. I needed an outlet and this man right here will have to do.
“Wait! W-Wait please...don’t--don’t shoot I wanted to stop him but he-”
“You wanted to stop him?” I asked with a scoff, cutting him off, “I find that hard to believe if you were with him when he planned to do this.” I said in a low voice, pointing to the scar on the side of my mouth.
One side had healed without leaving much of a scar but the other...left a scar from the corner of my mouth running to my cheek. The scar was almost four inches long and Sehun? He had lost an eye, the other two with scars covering about seventy percent of their bodies.  And this guy if trying to say he had been wanting to stop that bastard when he let this happen to us and Y/N’s at death’s door, I find it hard to believe he has our best interests in mind.
“Look I’m sorry okay? I should’ve done more and I’ve regretted everything that happened just--just believe me, please. I can help you get back at Baekhyun if that’s what it takes just please...don’t kill me.”
I stayed silent, thinking his offer over. He should have more intel on Baekhyun than we do. We’ve been laying low for so long to recover from our injuries that we’d need help to get back at Baekhyun if we liked it or not and right not this guy seems like the best option. I narrowed my eyes before signalling for him to go inside with my gun. He hesitated for a few seconds before walking passed me and into the house. He looked around wearily but before he could say anything I struck him in the back of the head with my gun. His unconscious body lay face first on the ground. He must’ve taken me for a fool for letting him in so easily but I wasn’t going to make a mistake like that. I crouched down by him after grabbing a pair of handcuffs I had discarded on the table a few days ago, handcuffing him. I’ll interrogate him later, right now Y/N was my main concern.
I ran up the stairs two at a time, knowing Sehun took her to Junmyeon, if anyone could save her it was him. But the sight I stumbled upon had my knees feeling weak. Junmyeon was performing CPR while Sehun frantically turned on the defibrillator. She was dead...and it was my fault. I watched with tears in my eyes as Junmyeon cut her dress off of her torso, placing the pads where they needed to be. I took slow steps towards them, Junmyeon rubbing the two paddles before yelling out clear. Sehun stepped back, bumping into me. I tried to reach out for her but he stopped me, grabbing my arm in a vice grip and holding me back. I looked up to see silent tears streaming down his face, his gaze on Y/N alone. I jumped at hearing the defibrillator go off for the second time, my eyes going back to her, my knees finally giving out.
I stared at my hands blankly, seeing them begin to shake the more times I heard Junmyeon use the defibrillator. This was all my fault, all of it. If I hadn’t told her to go and kill Jieun she wouldn’t have ended up in his hands, she wouldn’t be laid on this bed, dying. If I had just let her go and do whatever she wanted with her life instead of forcing my own ideals onto her she would’ve stayed by my side. If I wasn’t such a fool maybe I would’ve been the one to marry her and protect her, the one to make her happy but instead I was the cause of her suffering.
I brought my hands up to the sides of my face, sitting back onto my ass as I brought my knees up to my chest, crying my eyes out. If I lost her--if I lost her she’d be taking my heart with her. Even when we had been separated all those years I knew...I knew she was still alive, that she was breathing and smiling, laughing her heart out even if I wasn’t the one the put that smile on her face that simple fact was enough for me and now...she’s dying and there’s nothing I can do about it. All my life...I have never felt more helpless than I do in this moment.
“Forgive me...please… this is all my fault I-” I pleaded, my voice low but before I could finish I cut myself off.
Just as I was losing hope I heard someone gasp loudly, looking up to see that it was Y/N. Junmyeon had put down the defibrillator opting in using pure adrenaline to jump start her heart. I could see Y/N’s chest rise and fall but her breathing was still too shallow for us to relax. Junmyeon was quickly going through a few drawers, pulling out everything he needed before looking over at the two of us.
“One of you stays the other leaves. I don’t care who it is but you have to chose. Now!”
I scrambled off my feet at his words, sharing a look with Sehun before turning on my heel and walking out of the room. Right now Sehun would be a lot more help to Junmyeon than I would. I wiped the tears from my face, and went back down stairs. I saw Chanyeol crouching over Baekhyun’s man who was still unconscious. Rubbing my hand over my face, I reached down and grabbed the back of his collar, dragging him over to my office. I was going to get answers and I was going to get them now.
…...
-Y/N’s P.O.V-
I hugged my knees close to my chest, burying my face into them. All I heard was the sound of laughter. I knew who it belonged to but it sounded so distorted I didn’t want to believe it was his. The laughter only got louder and louder, the sound unbearable. I brought my hands up to cover my ears, tears streaming down my face.
“I did it! I killed them!”
No. They can’t be dead, not them, not after how we went our separate ways. I still had to apologize, beg for them to forgive me. I was so stupid to let myself be blinded by this fake love, I pushed my only friends away. They were the only people that had accepted me for who I was, loved me for me, without any conditions and I drove them away.
“You’re lying…”
“Oh but it’s the truth. You know it is! I killed them with my own two hands! Oh but not before torturing them! They screamed like the cowards they were!”
His voice was so close, as if he was yelling these words directly into my ears. The tears of sadness had started to mix with tears of anger as they streamed down my face. Before I knew it I started pushing at what felt like a firm chest. I shoved him as hard as I could, the only emotion in my eyes was hate.
I hate you.
I hate you.
I hate you!
……
I had been wandering through this cave that seemed to last forever for I don’t know how long. I just knew I had to keep walking. At times I wanted to just give up and hide myself away in some corner of this dark cave but something told me to keep going.
“Y/N…”
I froze at the sound of his voice, trying to remember who exactly it belonged to. Just as I was about to keep walking I heard it again, my hand coming up to my chest at the strange feeling that spread. I looked around, trying to figure out where the voice was coming from.
“Y/N I know I have no right to ask this of you but please...wake up…”
Just as he said those words I felt a warmth spread across my right hand. I looked down at it in confusion, bringing it up closer to my face to examine it but it didn’t look any different. But that feeling I felt in my chest amplified, becoming painful even. It was too much for me to handle as I fell to my knees. I clutched at my chest, the pain becoming more intense as the seconds ticked by.
My eyes flew open, only to have them close once again at the bright light shining over me. The pain in my chest was still very much there but it was dull compared to what I felt earlier. I let out a low groan, going to move my hands but felt something weighing down each of them. The moment I moved I heard the legs of chairs screeching across the floor before hearing them fall all together. I winced at the loud sound, blinking slowly to adjust to the light but once I did this overwhelming sense of panic washed over me. Baekhyun’s face flashed in my mind, the memories coming back. As my breathing sped up I could hear something beeping rapidly. My eyes darted around the room, my hands clutching tightly onto...well whatever I could get my hands on. I felt the tears well up in my eyes at the thought of being with him again, just his very name caused fear to course through my body. I opened my mouth to bug him not to hurt me again, anything but that, I don’t think I could take much more.
“Hey, hey it’s okay. You’re okay love, you’re safe now.”
I heard his voice before I saw his face and the moment I did the tears that had been accumulating in my eyes escaped. They slid down the sides of my face as I looked into his eyes, feeling a new wave of emotions wash over me. I opened my mouth to say his name but nothing came out. He gave me a sad smile when he noticed it was difficult for me to speak, shaking his head slightly. He cupped my cheek in his hand gently, leaning down to place a lingering kiss on my forward. I couldn’t do anything but stare up at him with wide eyes, Baekhyun’s words from before echoing in my head.
“They’re dead”
He lied...Jongin’s right here, in front of me. It wasn’t until then that I noticed Sehun standing on my left. He held my hand in his tightly, staring down at me with tears in his eyes...or eye. I furrowed my brows at seeing an eyepatch over his left eye. My eyes caught the scars that ran up his arms, looking over at Jongin quickly to see him trying to cover the scar on his cheek with his hand. I knew immediately who did this to them, tears of sorrow for them and resentment for the one that put them through this pain fell from my eyes. I felt my heart break more than it already was. My heart ached to know that they had gone through all this...because of me.
“I’m...sorry…” I said, my voice hoarse and barely above a whisper.
-Baekhyun’s P.O.V-
I sat in the dark room, back leaning against the wall as I stared out the window. I held a cigarette loosely in between my fingers, my eyes glazed over. It’s been like this since that day months ago. I don’t even remember the last time I left the room much less the house. I couldn’t bring myself to do anything, not after what I did. Just the thought of it caused my eyes to glaze over with tears. I looked up to the ceiling, willing them to go away but they fell nonetheless.
If only she was alive, God what I would do to see her. This pain in my chest, it hurt more than the first time, so much more. I would beg, beg on my fucking knees for her to forgive me, forgive my stupidity, forgive my actions. But I knew, I knew I would never even get to tell her how sorry I was.

All My Idols Ch 35: Not The Right Time for Us, But Time to Raise Hell
“Hi,” Kyungsoo greets bashfully, opening his front door, I’ve never seen the man look so awkward. “Hi Oppa,” I respond back, dancing on my toes. “Come in!” He opens the door fully, allowing me to step pass him and into the quiet townhome, the only sound coming from the speaker playing softly in the corner. I slip off my shoes, a pair of pink slippers is sitting there for me to step into. Kyungsoo takes my jacket from me, he hangs it up in the nearby closet before leading me farther into the beautiful apartment. “Thank you for coming over,” He mumbles sweetly, leading me into the kitchen.
“Thank you for being so flexible with our plans. Again, I’m so sorry about Jiyong oppa, he isn’t usually this crazy,” I grimace at the memory of this morning. Kyungsoo, thankfully, just laughs it off, “I knew what I was signing up for when I asked you out on a date. If I’m being honest, I’m happy that we moved it here. More private.” “I agree, it’s hard enough to go out in public as us but with a price on our heads I don’t imagine it would have been fun.” “This also give me a chance to show off my cooking skills,” He gestures to the pots and pans on the stove. I take a moment to fully appreciate the full kitchen that isn’t usually in Korean apartments, I can only assume the man had it installed himself. I breath in the scent of seasoned meat and something spicy, not Korean spicy though. “Pulled pork tacos,” He pulls all lid off one of the pans revealing frying pork. I raise a brow at him, not knowing it is part of his cookbook. “You had mentioned to Yixing hyung that you were craving more western foods so I thought I would give it a try, so please be kind when trying it. It is my first time.” I can’t hold back the smile spreading across my face, “Thank you Oppa.” “Anytime.” “I’m going to take you up on that offer, I hope you know that.” “I really hope you do,” He hums as he stirs the meat a bit, “Now tell me something though. How did you escape Jiyong and the rest of big bang?” I chuckle, “Oh that was a tricky thing. Seunghyun oppa helped me out a lot after lots of fatherly warnings, he was able to hold Jiyong and Seungri back while I gave the other two puppy dog eyes that they couldn’t refuse.” “I should expect nothing less from you, the greatest escape artist. You alluded me and the other members for almost a year, I have personally experienced your amazing skills.” “Yea,” I awkwardly rub the back of my neck, guilt settles in the pit of my stomach, “I’m still sorry about that. I was just so over whelmed with the idea of meeting all of you I panicked every time you guys appeared.” “No need to apologize, we are here now.” His smile melts my heart like it always does, making me smile like an idiot, “But there is something else I should apologize for.” “What?” “The randsome for your capture.” “For mine? Yours is twice as valuable!” He whips out his phone, the announcement clear on his phone, “’For bringing back our princess unharmed you will receive a prize of $100 and a group photo with Big Bang.’ The price on mine is only $50.” “This is ridiculous.” “Now it’s ridiculous?” The usually sweet man mocks. “When would you have drawn the line?” “When I started receiving more than twenty messages for not answering back.” Those doe eyes slide over to my phone which is sitting silently on the counter, silent but not dead sadly. You have 13 missed calls You have 32 unread messages “Oh my god.” “Are they all from the same person?” “I’m just assuming from at least five different people if not more.” “And here I thought I was popular,” He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly as if trying to push away the blush crawling up from under his shirt. “I’m probably distracting you from some important people.” “You are not distracting me from anyone, my phone is taking away from me focusing on you,” Without any hesitation, but a small amount of anxiety, I turn off my phone and hope for the best. Setting it to the side I look back up at Kyungsoo, “You have my full attention.” “And I have no idea what to do with it,” He blurts out without much thought. “You’re the one who asked me on a date.” “I didn’t think you would actually say yes! I figured you would have let me down gently since Minseok hyung is your favorite.” “What does that have to do with me dating anyone?” “He’s your bias!” “He was my bias since 2013! My lack of dating is more to do with my lack of interest in it than in my casual obsession with boys who I thought would never know I existed.” “So Minseok hyung?” “To be honest I’m a little in love with him, but I’m a little in love with every idol I knew about before all of this, that does include you by the way. But that is a different kind of love, okay?” “Okay.” “Now can we have a normal conversation about each other and not someone else? Please?” “Okay, what do you want to talk about?” I hum, “What is your favorite childhood memory?” Time flies faster than I expected, playing an interesting version of 20 questions breaks the ice easily. I find myself asking more personal questions as time goes on and he does the same in turn. Before long, he is dishing out our meal on to expensive looking plates like he did it for a living. If I could I would take a picture but instead of opening that can of worms I opt to just memorize the picture in front of me. The tortillas lined up loaded with pork and different toppings, from cabbage to carrot to cilantro, and a few other things I couldn’t name. The different colors brightened the dish and put into a whole other category of delicious, I almost don’t want to eat it. Kyungsoo eagerly encourages me, or gently pressured me, into taking a big bite, his eyes the size of the moon and just as white, until I smile in appreciation, “It’s delicious Oppa!” He lets out a breath, “Thank goodness.” “How about you try a bite?” I hold out the small taco to him, I flip it around, so he can have the uneaten end. The man nervously licks those full lips before opening his mouth, allowing me to feed him. It is the most date like thing we’ve done all day and it ended exactly how I expected, with the filling landing on the floor in between us. Neither one of us can hold in a laugh at the loud splat that echoes through the kitchen that has us clutching our stomachs. “Delicious,” He agrees when he can catch a breath. “I’ll clean it up.” “You’re my guest, I should do it!” I chuckle, “I recommend cleaning up yourself,” I hand the man a napkin to clean off his chin. I duck under the counter with another napkin to clean up the small mess before dumping it in the trash. “Did I get it?” He wonders holding up his chin for me to inspect. I gently guide his chin with my hand, tilting his head in many different, dramatic directions before pulling away with a smile, “Yep, as handsome as ever.” We throw a few more jokes at each other before continuing our meal. The man’s surprisingly dark sense of humor brightens my day more than it should. I barely have time to take bites in between his contagious laughter and never ending snide comments. Seeing his heart shaped smile in person for so long is doing serious damage to my soul and my cheeks, I don’t smile this much. Things are going great until there is a knock at the door. We share a confused look as we put our food down and shuffle into the hall, “Are you expecting someone else?” He shakes his head, “No but that never stopped anyone before.” We go closer to the door, stopping just shy to turn on the little monitor on the wall. Kyungsoo quickly gets the camera to show Kai and Sehun standing on the other side. The man next to me literally growls, “Those idiots.” The two seem to realize the camera is on and quickly begin shouting at it, “Hyung! We know you are home! Is Charlie here? She isn’t responding to anyone and since you turned your phone off I’m assuming she’s in there with you! Hyung!” “I’m going to kill them,” Kyungsoo reaches for the microphone button but I catch his hand. “Maybe if we ignore them, they will go away,” I suggest. They bang on the door together, “I mean they will have to use the bathroom eventually and leave.” “You would think they could leave us alone for one day.” “You would think that, but I knew this would happen. I’m sorry Oppa, this is all my fault,” I groan as I rest my head on his shoulder, groaning at my own blessings. “Don’t look so hopeless, maybe you’re right and they will go away.” Their timing is so perfect I’m half sure they can hear us, Sehun informs us, “We told Jiyong where you are.” “Fuck,” I blurt out, dropping to the ground in utter hopelessness. Kyungsoo chuckles sadly, “Well I guess that’s game over. It was nice to have all of your attention for at least a few hours.” He joins me on the floor, we lay side by side in the hallway and stare at the ceiling for a moment to collect ourselves. “To be completely honest,” Kyungsoo hums, “I should have known better than to ask you on a date. It was kind of an unspoken rule for this reason alone. I figured I could get away with it since you said I was one of your bias but I guess I was thinking too highly of myself.” “I am going to throw you out there to them if you don’t shut up. We are both amazing. We both deserved a quiet afternoon, not just two hours of hiding out. This is all fucking ridiculous. I love everyone but I just really wanted to go on a date without being hounded or stalked. Now I see why you guys don’t date, sneaking around sucks!” “It really does, but don’t worry, as time goes on you’ll get more freedom. Trust me, that’s why you’ve only received a few threats here and there compared to people trying to break down the door for me. You just gotta be patient.” I look at him, “Patient?” He nods. I look back up, my eyes narrowed into slits as my anger begins to set in. It’s not even for myself but for my many friends and idols who have to deal with this on a regular bases. They have to be patient with their heart, sell it away in their company until their contract allows. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, not wanting to get myself all worked up. “Let’s go,” I jump to my feet. Kyungsoo slowly sits up, he stares up at me confused, “Where are we going?” “If I have to be patient and not date, this no longer a date and that means we are no longer targets so we are going out and having fun. Now get up because we need to get out of here before the mob arrives.” I grab my own shoes and a pair of his that match his outfit well enough before heading towards the back for a way out. “The back door is to your left. Let me turn everything off!” Kyungsoo yells from the kitchen as I pull on my shoes. He joins me a few moments later and pulls his shoes on faster than I expected, the normally shy, quiet man bounces one his toes happily. Ready to run. “I think they are getting suspicious. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chanyeol and Baek are hanging out in the alley way.” I stand there for a moment next to this man, staring up at him with obvious adoration at the fact he is ready to go on the run with me away from his friends and colleagues with a price on his head. It feels like the plot to some cheesy romantic drama but I don’t mind, I just smile as I grab his hand lead him out the door.
I hold Kyungsoo’s hand in a death grip as we run down a random alley, finally out of sight of our captures. Our chests are heaving, our feet ache, and our legs are barely holding us up but the massive grins on our faces tell each other that it was so worth it. We hold our breath as we see Baekhyun and his giant accomplice sprint by the alley, our eyes lock after about 30 seconds, we let the breath out as our laughs fill the busy alley away. “I guess I got my cardio for the month out of the way,” “For the week? I’m good for the year!” We slouch against the wall with a deep sigh of relief. My aching legs force me lower, I wrap my arm around Kyungsoo’s, he looks at me with raised brows, “If I’m going down I’m taking you with me.” He laughs, “I don’t think I would mind that too much.” We huff out a breathless laugh together as we take a quick moment to relax. But when my eyes land on an older woman eyeing us suspiciously I tense and spin around to face the brick wall behind us, forcing Kyungsoo to do the same. “We probably should have put on some kind of disguise.” Kyungsoo glances over his shoulder as casually as possible, absolutely failing to make it casual. I struggle to hold in a laugh as he looks at the woman with his large eyes, her thin, heavy bagged eyes study him in return but she shows no reaction if she does recognize us. She looks back down to the stone bowls boiling in front of her, she flips the fish grilling to a crisp, she pays our strangeness no mind and I silently thank her lack socialite knowledge. I once again release a breath, this one I didn’t know I was holding. “I’ll be right back,” He tells me as he leans me up against the wall of an alley restaurant. Before I have the chance to even question him, he is answering with a smile, “We need disguises, and one of us is easier to spot than the other.” I look down at myself, my blonde curls fall into view, “Fair enough.” He nods as he peeks out of the alley and quickly slips away into the full afternoon crowd. I sigh. The lady looks back up, “You and your boyfriend are interesting. You look cute together but act very strange.” I smile warmly at her honest compliment, “Thank you ma’am, but we aren’t dating.” “You’re not? Why?” She snaps back, “He’s really handsome! You aren’t going to find a better looking man, sure he isn’t very tall but he has strong shoulders and that is what is important!” “He is very handsome!” I quickly agree, “But we both decided we aren’t going to date, we aren’t in the right spot in our life.” She snickers, “You’ll die alone if you are waiting for the right time.” “Ma’am, I am only 23.” “I was married with two children at your age! How else are you supposed to be the youngest grandmother in the neighborhood?” “You can’t be a grandmother!” I click at her, earning a smirk from the older woman, “You don’t look a day over 25!” “You little sweet talker,” She playfully pretends to swat at me with her stirring spoon, “I remember when I was young, I thought I was indestructible. I would do all sorts of crazy things, drove my father insane but it was amazing.” “I see how you ended up with two kids at my age.” “Watch that mouth of yours,” She warns with her spoon pointed at me once again, “What I’m trying to say before your-not-boyfriend comes back is that if you are young and have no responsibilities yet, have fun, be crazy, don’t care what other people think, okay?” “Okay.” Kyungsoo appears with a shopping bag in hand, “Okay I think this should keep us from being spotted by anyone, I don’t think anyone has come back this way, so we should have an opening to sneak away.” “I see you are already doing something crazy,” The lady hums, staring back at her cooking. “Did I miss something?” Kyungsoo questions. I shake my head, “Nothing really, just some information from a wise young lady.” The woman huffs. “Let’s get this stuff on and head to the han river.” “The river? We are going straight to the most public place?” I can tell he isn’t going to say no but he isn’t going to hold himself back from questioning my decision. “I figured fuck it! Why not?” He nods, “Okay! Well than let’s bundle up and do this.” The sweet man wraps a large scarf around my neck, followed by a hat and a face mask, the go to for idols hiding in the open. He then puts the same things on himself, blending in perfectly with crowds on the street while I still stand a part with my tan skin and my curls peeking out from my hat. “Just keep your head down and your hands in your pockets, I’ll keep my eyes ahead and lead us there okay?” “Yes, sir!” I salute him before shoving my hands deep into my pockets, Kyungsoo locks his arm with mine as he leads the way back on to the street. We blend in with the crowd, shoving and being shoved as we make our way to the closest subway station. We don’t talk the whole way there, on the subway platform our eyes are searching for our captors. On the train Kyungsoo blocks me from the rest of the train car by positioning me into the farthest corner, his height and wide shoulders easily hide me from any possible prying eyes. Our stop is announced over head, he pulls me along off the train and up to the street. Even in the chilly weather people still litter the grass, couples and groups huddling together to stay warm while they chat and munch on snacks. It’s so full of people that I almost consider removing my face mask, I doubt anyone would suspect we would come here but just to be sure I leave it on. Kyungsoo leads us to the edge of the river, we sit together on the cold stone bench few away from the water. We sit there for a while just enjoying the people walking by and the each other’s company. Every time a person comes to close we both tense slightly, but each time the stranger continues on their way, unaware of who we are. Kyungsoo relaxes once again at my side, his shoulders slumping. He sighs, “I feel like an escaped convict. Like we are just waiting to get busted.” “We are,” I agree, eyeing people inconspicuously over my shoulder. “Someone is probably going to find us by the end of the day, how long do you think we have?” “My money is on 10:00.” I hum, “I give us until midnight to raise some hell.” “It’s going to be getting dark soon so that will give us a little bit more cover. We have about three hours until my bet will loose, do you think we can do it?” “Three hours? Damn right we can! But we might as well enjoy the hunt too,” I pull out my phone and turn it on. I quickly put it on do not disturb before pulling Kyungsoo close and snapping a picture of us. “Would it be cruel for me to just tease them?” A large grin spreads across his face, “As you said, we might as well enjoy it.” With our agreement on the subject I save the photo and make a delayed posting time for thirty minutes from now, “Lets grab a snack and go!” “Where are we off to?” “I picked this one, your turn! What is something you love to do around town? Or what haven’t you had the chance to do in awhile?” “We could um, I know it might not be the most hell raising thing, but we could… go try on traditional clothes?” I grin, “I haven’t had the opportunity to, lets go!” Arm in arm we stop at a truck vendor and pick up some bubble tea before rushing towards the shops a little farther down. We scan each sign from top to bottom of the tall building, trying to find the least busy Hanbok shop to go into. We find one another block down with only two other patrons inside. Against my arguments, Kyungsoo pays, we are separated and allowed to pick out whatever colors we would like. The shop owner is an older man who doesn’t obviously show if he recognizes us. Inside the dressing room I scan over each beautiful piece of fabric, the bright beautiful colors leave me in awe. A baby blue top attracts my full attention, the pale pink skirt compliments it so perfectly it makes my decision easy. There is a diagram on the wall that explains how to put it on but when it comes to the little knot to hold the top closed I struggle more than I should. Peaking out of the dressing room I find Kyungsoo already in the staging room, sitting awkwardly on the pillow throne. With the large amount of dramas I have watched over the years, I am able to figure out he is dressed as the prince. So handsome. The silky blue fabric looks so wonderful on him, I stand in the doorway for a long moment just appreciating him. His eyes find me a moment later, they close slightly as he smiles at me. “Any chance you can help me tie this?” I gesture to the coat. He quickly comes over and almost expertly ties the little bow on my chest. The click of a camera brings both of our attention to the shop owner who is already snapping photos. “I am sorry, I usually have a girl here who helps the lady do their hair and help them into the gowns,” He apologizes softly. I wave away his kind words, “It’s okay! I figured it out.” “Plus, her hair looks amazing naturally,” Kyungsoo adds in shyly. The owner ushers us into our positions, doing the usual couple photos before doing individuals. It’s almost impossible for us to keep a straight face with the man narrating our ancient Korean story as star crossed lovers. We ruined a few photos but made a few of them even better with genuine smiles and mischievous grins. After the photo shoot and the man emails us the photos he gives us the option to wear them out around the area. We share a look but decide to decline his kind offer. If we want to make it at least another two hours we can’t completely push our luck just yet.

note: this chapter was... kind of a heavy one. It was a hard one to write and then have to do an editing pass on. It’s very angsty compared to some of my recent writing. But I wanted to push the emotional part of this story, so even though this part may be a bit much, please do stick around if you would like to see how their relationship develops.
Also, please let me know if you would like to be tagged in this story~

"Excuse me, handsome. I'm looking for my boyfriend, Sehun. He's usually dressed in ripped jeans, a messy t-shirt, his favorite jacket, and his hair is a bit unkempt. You haven't seen him around, have you?" you inquired of the tall male in front of you. He turned to face you, and all you got in response was an eye roll and a pointed look from him.
Still, you couldn't help but tease Sehun. Tonight, he looked the opposite of his usual self. Gone were his wrinkly white t-shirt, leather jacket, and those ripped jeans that hugged his lower body in all the right ways. Instead, he sported a pair of black dress pants which sat just right on his hips, coming just above a set of really nice shoes. His t-shirt and leather jacket were replaced with a black buttoned shirt. In true Sehun style, always wanting to dress for comfort, he left a couple buttons undone at the top and rolled the sleeves up to his elbows. Sehun's dark brown locks that were often messy were now slicked back and out of his face, showing off every perfect angle of that chiseled face of his. It was almost as if he were a different person. Never would you have guessed that he knew how to dress like this, but you also weren't going to complain. Sehun was already incredibly handsome to you, no matter how he looked. But this just took it to another level and really elevated his appearance.
Sehun's initial displeasure was immediately replaced by a smug smirk the moment he saw your eyes scanning his form. He knew that you were admiring him, seeing him dressed in such different attire was not the norm. But he was not going to let your wandering eyes go without saying anything. "Stop looking at me like you want to tear my clothes off. I know, I look hot and irresistible in this outfit, but we have a dinner to go to. Please control yourself," he stated, earning a scoff in response.
Still, the moment that his hands grasped your own, you turned around in a heartbeat. Sehun's eyes also gave you a once over, and he couldn't help but bit his lower lip in response. Typically when you saw each other, you were in your work attire. Every now and then he would catch you in something more casual during the weekends, or when he would stay over, but his eyes were most accustomed to your ironed white button-up, and your long black skirt. Now, however, those formal clothes were replaced with a light and sleeveless cream-colored blouse that was paired with a short and flared red skirt. The combination was casual and youthful, every part of your outfit accentuating your beautiful figure. Honestly, if Sehun had it his way, the two of you wouldn't even make it out the door. But that wasn't his call this evening.
"I clean up well, don't I," he declared, wrapping his arms around your body and holding you close.
On instinct, you nestled against his chest, hands resting on the fabric of his shirt as you took in the intoxicating scent of his cologne and the heat that his body emanated. He always brought you such comfort with the smallest actions. At this moment, you thought that the two of you could make it through the evening with little fuss. Well, that was your hope, anyway. "You clean up a bit too nicely. I'm honestly surprised you had all of this sitting in your closet. Though I won't lie. I love this businessman look on you..."
Sehun chuckled at your combination of a compliment and tease, his smile reaching up to his eyes. "Baekhyun hated being at fancy functions alone, so whenever his family had one or was invited to one, he'd drag me along," he explained. "You couldn't believe how uncomfortable it was at first. It was so different from what I was used to. But over time, it became easier. It actually got to the point where people thought I was the Byun family's son."
"Oh? Is that so?" you inquired, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. Sehun had told you about these outings a couple of times, but never in such depth. You wouldn't be surprised if people thought he was from a wealthy family, though. He fit the part well.
Sehun nodded. "Rich women would ask me out all of the time. And if they weren't interested, they would ask if I were single, so they could introduce me to their daughters," he stated matter-of-factly, hearing you huff in response. That was just what he wanted, teasing you back for all of your earlier comments.
"Well, if so many women have such an interest in you, then why don't you date one of them instead," came your offended reply. You tried to squirm out of your boyfriend's grasp, but the moment he felt you move, his grip on you tightened, pulling you in squarely against him.
A giant grin spread across Sehun's features, proud that he had gotten you so wound up and effectively got the last laugh. Even as you tried to move away, he leaned in, forehead resting against your own to still your movements. "I don't have a reason to chase after those women. I already found the one that drives me crazy, and I would be stupid to let her go. I think I'm good for now," he whispered, feeling your tense figure slowly relaxing as he trailed kisses from your cheek down to your neck.
You let out a breathy sigh, head tilted slightly so that Sehun could easily continue his little display of affection. Your fingers gently played with the hair near the base of his head as you made another content noise. He was also so good at winning you over again. "You're such a sweet talker. Do you think you could put those skills to use on my parents too?" you asked, feeling your boyfriend pull away so that he could come face to face with you.
"I can definitely try," he replied earnestly. "I've had some practice at Baekhyun's party dealing with similar types of people, so I think I can hold my own against your parents. At the very least, you've prepared me for some of the things they might say." He planted a tender kiss on your forehead before he pulled away, giving you a small smile before leading you out the door.
And though you wanted to believe him. Though you wanted everything to end well... you still had a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach as you got in the car and were en route to your parents' home...
========
The night had a promising start. You arrived fifteen minutes early to your childhood home, and slowly made your way up the steps to the front door. Sehun had teased you about the excessiveness of their home, from the lavish yard to the ridiculous stairs that you were traversing. You knew that Sehun was doing it to lighten the mood, and you were appreciative of his attempt. At least your giggles and sassy remarks back to him were helping to hide your actual nervousness.
When you arrived at the front door and let yourselves in, you were greeted by your parents. And truthfully, their first meeting went quite well. Sehun greeted them with respect, introducing himself to each parent. Your mother was absolutely enchanted by your boyfriend's handsome features while your father was delighted by his good manners. You were honestly surprised by how easy Sehun seemed to slide into this role. Though it felt strange for you to see him like this, a stark contrast to his natural and teasing personality, you were glad that he was making an effort. Putting his best foot forward now and capturing your parents' hearts meant that you could both have more leeway later.
"Sweetie, he's such a lovely young man! How could you keep him from us all this time," your mother reprimanded as the four of you took your seats at the table.
Though Sehun hid it well in the presence of your parents, you knew that he was inwardly smug at your mother's comment. "Your amazing daughter just wanted to make sure that we all met at the right time. Though I am thrilled to finally meet you, I understand her hesitance. She wanted this to be perfect," Sehun responded as you nodded along. Your parents seemed to buy the excuse as you started on your meal.
Your parents spent their time asking Sehun questions about himself, all of which he answered tactfully. He provided just enough details that your parents didn't ask too many follow-up questions. You were starting to think that you didn't give your boyfriend nearly enough credit. Maybe you had been overly nervous about your parents meeting him after all.
Even when he gave an explanation as to how the two of you met, it had been convincing. He had said that you met through a mutual friend, through Baekhyun. This wasn't a lie. The part he left out, of course, was just which of Baekhyun's friend groups he was from. For your parents, Baekhyun was the epitome of a well brought up young man. Part of them seemed to forget his earlier, more humble upbringing, however. No, to them, anyone that Baekhyun knew, had to have been as kind and had as much money. And unfortunately, mentioning Baekhyun was what inadvertently got the two of you in trouble.
"Sehun, if you're friends with Baekhyun, then your family must be pretty big in your industry, or at least up and coming. What is it that you do, dear?" your mother asked.
Things had been going so well. Your plan to introduce Sehun to them, get them to like him, and then slowly opening up about him, seemed like it might work. But this question threw a wrench into it all. It was a question that you knew would make an appearance that night, but part of you hoped that it wouldn't. Sehun's future plans were no doubt important to your parents, however. They couldn't let anything jeopardize the growth they wanted for their family.
Still, Sehun seemed unfazed by the question, as if it was one that he was often asked at parties. "Ah, I work in music," he replied casually. This answer seemed to satisfy your mother, and for most people, he met. He was confident in his response, and most individuals never took any issue with it. Except for your father.
"I wasn't aware that Baekhyun's family was acquainted with entertainment families. I figured that they were mainly in the technology sector of things. What exactly does your family do in that industry, Sehun? Do they own a label? Maybe I've heard of it," your father insisted, his curiosity piqued at the mention of music. You knew that part of growing the business was branching out. Though your family knew some influential people, this was looking to be a chance to meet others, and your father wasn't going to back down.
Sehun shook his head, remaining amazingly nonchalant given the situation. If his hands weren't busy with his food, you would have held it under the table, to reassure him of how well he was doing. "Ah, we don't own a music label, sir. It's not quite to that degree. I like to think that I work where the music takes me," he responded vaguely. You could tell that your mother wanted to move on with the conversation, but this answer wasn't satisfactory for your father.
"You must be a producer then. Actually, our nephew has been trying to break into the production side of music for a while now. Maybe I could get the two of you in contact with each other," your father asserted. The more persistent your father became, the more uneasy you felt. You knew that Sehun wasn't going to agree to this. Sehun was willing to curb the truth to get you out of a difficult situation, but he wasn't ready to full-out lie to your father. He knew that admitting he was a guitarist in an unknown band would get him thrown out in a heartbeat, but he wasn't sure what else to say. He was trying so hard already.
"I'm not quite a producer, though I do know a talented song-writer..." he said slowly, trying to come up with an excuse on the spot. Sehun didn't expect the questions to get this far. But before he could continue, your father let out a huff.
"If you aren't a producer, then what could you possibly be working on that has you moving around so much? Do you play an instrument or something?"
Sehun's mind was working overtime, trying to come up with a way to nicely wrap up this conversation. But your father's constant talk was making it difficult, and without too much thought, Sehun interjected with, "Y-you could say that..."
"So then you're some type of musician, playing for actual artists," your father said flatly. You could tell that he was not amused by Sehun's answer, and any earlier grace that he had earned with your father was dwindling. "Look, son, let me be frank. You are a very nice young man and my daughter obviously cares for you deeply. However, if you are going to be in the entertainment industry, let me offer you some advice. It would be better for you to pursue the path of an idol. You gain quick fame, and it will allow you to expand your career in the future. You definitely have the looks for it," your father stated.
"It will still be a lot of work, but it would be far simpler than the path you've chosen. If you don't have the dedication or want to pursue the life of an idol, then I suggest that you work at your parents' company. At least you will be able to build up skills and a reputation. Your current career goals have... a high chance of failure if you cannot get consistent work. Being in a band makes you no better than any other wannabe band out there. Think of your future," your father affirmed.
Sehun had been holding his tongue all night. He worked on getting on your parents' good side, making sure that they liked him. But everyone had their breaking point, and Sehun had just reached his. He could no longer brush off your father's comments. His words got under Sehun's skin and made his blood boil. He hated the perception that an individual would only get into music to make fast money, and that the only way to do so was as an idol. Though he knew that for some were like this, he loved music differently. It was his passion, something he had felt strongly about from a young age. Money wasn't everything to him. If anything, it was pretty low on his priorities. He wanted to achieve his dreams, make a name for himself in his own way.
But he knew that not all families thought this way, particularly not those with money. They were looking for status, for notoriety. And while all wealthy families weren't like this, he had come to learn, from Baekhyun's parties, that many were. And that, unfortunately, your parents were no different. They put a priority on status before happiness, and he was unsure if he could live with people that thought that way. They valued their family's level and overall influence, they appreciated respect, things that Sehun couldn't even fathom when he was trying to make enough to pay his phone bill.
Your world suddenly felt so different from his own.
He knew that there was kindness in the rich and powerful as well. Baekhyun was still down to earth even with the sudden influx of wealth that his family gained. You were the same as Baekhyun. You were kind, you were loving, and never once did you make fun of him for the little that he had. You were supportive, you were honestly the complete opposite of your parents. Even though Sehun knew this, even though he loved you, he couldn't hold his tongue anymore. His emotions had finally gotten the better of him.
"With all due respect, sir, I think that bands that are formed by your average person can still be successful. It takes a lot of hard work, in a very different way, but one doesn't need a large company from the beginning to be successive. Some groups that are put together by large companies can also fail. These indie groups... they just need some help to get the spotlight. That's how I feel about the band that I'm currently in," Sehun said firmly. His proclamation made the room fall silent, and though he felt the need to stand up for himself, he knew that this would not end well.
"Sir, I know that you are likely shocked by my words, but I am very proud of the work I do. My band isn't well-known, but we are working very hard. We work on our own music and even music for others. We're just looking for our first breakthrough hit. Many agencies have an interest in our work, but the right one hasn't come along yet," Sehun explained.
Sehun's words silenced your parents, but you knew that they wouldn't be quiet for long. You could see the storm raging behind their eyes. That mix of surprise, or disappointment, and even some anger. You knew that they felt betrayed, that you would bring someone like this home. They felt like they had been fooled... and that it was all your doing. They wanted you to meet a nice boy that they could brag about. They did not expect you to bring home someone whose status would only downgrade your own. They were furious, and like raging volcanoes, all of that anger came rushing forth.
"So, is your plan to live off of our daughter's money while you're trying to find this 'big break'?" your father asked, his tone harsh, condescending.
"Father, please–" you started, but before you could even try to calm him down, your mother cut you off.
"Don't you dare speak while your father is speaking, young lady," came your mother's order, and out of habit, you instantly fell silent. You mother hadn't raised her voice to you since grade school.
Sehun saw the way you fell silent as if it were some sort of natural response, but instead of feeling angry, he reached under the table for your hand, giving it a squeeze. He knew this was hard for you. He knew that they had raised you to listen and that at this moment, you were going against your parents' wishes in every way. He wanted to show his support, and this was the little he could do. "I never had any plans of living off of your daughter. She is someone that I care deeply about, and that has always supported me. I would never treat her in such a way. I have a decent job, and I make my own money. I would never take hers, ever," Sehun said honestly, an absoluteness to his words. Still, none of them convinced your parents.
"Do you think that your words reassure us in some way? You may not be after her money now, but what about in your future? What happens when you don't make a living from your band? You know how much our daughter has since you've been with her for a  while. What's stopping you from drying out her bank accounts later?" your mother inquired. All of her earlier adoration for Sehun was gone.
"I have the drive and self-respect. I can make my own living without your daughter's financial help," Sehun stated. Though he tried to be earnest with his words, he was only met with a scoff from each parent.
"Those values only get so many people so far. At some point, they all realize that a difficult road will always be difficult, and they will fall back on an easier life with no struggles. You'll live like a rich bum off of her hard-earned money," your father fired back.
You wanted to say something, but you didn't know what you could say that would help the situation. You could see it in Sehun's eyes. He was trying so hard to be level-headed about this. "I promise that it won't be like that. I'm extremely driven to take this seriously."
"You'll take it seriously until it puts you into debt, you fall into a slump, and you decide to use up all of the money our daughter has saved up. We've seen your type before," your father retorted, disdain obvious in his voice.
"Father, Sehun isn't like that!" you finally piped up, not being back to keep quiet any longer.
Though you had finally found it in yourself to stand up against your parents, to raise your voice for the first time in many years, it didn't help. You were met with pointed stares, their anger now directed at you. "I have some choice words for you as well, young lady. You lied to us about the man you were dating. Did you really think you could dress him up nicely and pass him off as a wealthy person? A wolf will always look like a wolf," your father spat. "And on top of that, this is the man you're willing to risk your future for? This starving artist is why you refused every single arrangement we set up for you? He's the reason you refuse to find a good husband?"
At these words, Sehun's eyes were also on you now. That tight grip that he had on your hand loosened as he fell away from you. "A… arranged… m-marriage?" Sehun asked.
You had never disclosed to Sehun that your parents wanted to marry you off. At the time, you didn't think it was necessary, and in your eyes, it wasn't important as you were in a relationship. Though he had brought it up in passing before, as Baekhyun had told him of another friend that was being set up, you promised that your parents weren't doing the same. You just didn't know that your parents had gone behind your back. And you knew that all Sehun heard, at that moment, was that they were setting you up with a rich man behind his back. And you knew he was hurt by that. You could see the pain in his eyes. Betrayal.
"Oh, did our lovely daughter never tell you that we've been searching for someone for her? We've been trying for months, actually, but she had refused to meet them all. She knew, of course, but she never agreed. Still, if we knew that she was seeing someone like you..." your mother trailed off. "Look, Sehun, you seem like a nice boy, but you just aren't good enough for our daughter."
With your mother's words, Sehun fell silent. After all of that, he couldn't find it in himself to argue anymore. Instead, he thanked them for dinner and excused himself. The moment that he exited the dining room was when you finally found movement again. Your parents commanded that you stay, but for once, you ignored them. You pulled on your shoes as quickly as you could and went running out the door after Sehun.
"Sehun, please, just let me explain," you pleaded when you managed to catch up with him. Your feet were in pain, having to run in those damned shoes down the stairs of your family home. But right now you didn't care. What mattered was Sehun.
He stopped, involuntarily, and turned to you then. Sehun had a look that you had never seen before. His eyes were dark, empty, and devoid of the beauty that they usually held. "An arranged marriage? This entire time, you were just looking for another guy, hm?"
You shook your head, still trying to regain your breath. "No, I was never looking for another guy. My parents were, I–"
"But you didn't stop them from looking for someone, did you. This entire time, I thought you didn't want to introduce me to your parents because you wanted to make sure that we were okay, that you were in a position where they had to listen to you. Now I know that you were just holding off on it to find a real husband, weren't you. You were just going to throw me away once you find the real thing." Sehun's voice rose as he spoke, and you knew that he was angry.
"S-sehun, you know that's not true. You know that I wouldn't dump you for some guy that they find, just because he has money," came your shaky reply. You could feel the tears brimming in your eyes. You knew that he wasn't listening, but you had to try. "I was waiting to introduce you to them because I wanted to make sure this wouldn't happen."
"But it still happened anyway, didn't it. You know what tonight showed me? Even if we met them later on, they would have been just as upset. They were never going to accept me no matter what I did. They would only be happy if you found yourself with Baekhyun, wouldn't they?" Sehun saw your eyes widened. "Don't think I didn't see how their faces lit up when I mentioned them. That's the real person they want you to be with."
"Sehun, you know I don't feel that way about Baek," you insisted.
Sehun was blinded by frustration, anger, and betrayal. No matter what you said, he couldn't hear it. "You know, all you rich girls are the same. Sometimes you come to average clubs. You have fun, find someone that you think is a bad boy, someone that your parents don't approve of. You have fun with them, and when you're done, you all throw them to the side like you plan to throw me away. Just so you can live your happy life with a man that has a large paycheck," Sehun stated, hatred lacing his words. "None of you give a shit about people like us... and you're no different."
Sehun's words hurt, but you had to keep trying. You weren't ready for this to go where the way that you knew it would. "Sehun, I promise you, I'm not going to leave you. I want to make this work," you pleaded.
"But I don't."
His words were curt, and the harshness of them stunned you. Your heart suddenly felt tight. "Please… p-please don't, Sehun."
"We're done. Go back to your rich girl life. I don't want to see you again." His words were pointed, and as soon as they left his lips, he walked out the gate and to his car, driving away without you.
The moment that he disappeared, you couldn't explain exactly how you felt. You could feel the tears streaming down your face, and the only thing that you knew was that Sehun didn't want to try. No, he just wanted you out of his life…

The first book// The second book Masterlist Askbox (please talk to me im lonely) Sexual References
chpt: 5
The way Yifan scanned her body as she rounded her desk made her feel naked. A small smile appeared on his face as his eyes lingered on her collar. “A good morning?” She met his despicable gaze as he handed her some documents to file and she wished the floor would swallow her whole. He’s a vampire he can smell it! It became clear from his reaction to her that Baekhyun’s intentions were more than just sexual desire - he wanted every vampire to know also whom she belonged to. As if the collar wasn’t enough. She took a seat gingerly, feeling her soiled underwear rub uncomfortably beneath her. Yifan left, headed through the doors to the girls and so her day began. ~~~ Joonmyeon respected humans - he didn’t like them much but he respected their need for humanly things. He would only kill when necessary, he never left the manor for his food but only used his girls and whores over and over again, till nothing remained but scarred skin over a sickly corpse. Once he ran out Kyungsoo would ‘restock’ him. But when it came to vampire hunters all of Joonmyeon’s forgiving nature and intolerance for violence resorted to nothing. He had no patience for the race of humans, he had made his mistakes in trying to build peace with them over many different generations and each time they betrayed that peace killing many of his prodigies and his Blackswans. His brothers could do anything to a vampire hunter if they crossed paths; frankly he could care no less. “He has a wife.” Baekhyun mused to no one in particular with murderous intent as he scanned the article. “How are they even here?” Jongdae whined. “We killed them all.” “They’re like fleas, they’re always going to be there.” Baekhyun responded. For all Baekhyun’s improvements and his change in temperament there was nothing and no one that would be able to leash his cruel nature that loved to kill. He passed the newspaper none so gently to Sehun. He was pissed at the younger vampire, though it was irrational; Sehun had no control over his past even more so who he was the brother of. Even so Baekhyun couldn’t help but be angry over it, Yuna had played her games, he had let her infect his mind without so much as a fight. He just hoped wherever she was, whatever ground she was buried under she was suffering. “We’ll wait till the sun sets, then we can go.” Jongin slid off the window ledge, smiling. “Then we find him.” Baekhyun turned to him, running his tongue over his top teeth, matching his look, red eyes gleaming with diabolical evil. “And his wife.” “Before you go Baekhyun, we need to talk to your girl.” Joonmyeon’s tone was level, calm and indifferent as if he didn’t know how much it would irk him - or care Baekhyun’s eyes narrowed all murder and gruesome intent dissolving. “Why?” “It’s in our best interest to find out what she saw.” He shrugged. “A vampire.” Baekhyun retorted. “It was just a vampire.” Yixing had told him about the body of the whore. The way her body had been slashed and bloodied beyond recognition. The way her head was barely still attached to the rest of her body, her slack, open and broken as if it had been yanked from the joint. It wasn’t the work of a vampire, he knew that, none of the blood had been taken, it was all there. If he’d have had his way - his old way - he wouldn’t have let her go to work this morning, chain her to the bed and watch her all day; fuck her all day. Deeply it affected him, seeing the fear even hours after the incident and he wanted nothing more than to track down the creature. But for her, he was trying his best as much as he was worried he was going to continue giving her the freedom he had stolen. “If that’s the case then we have nothing to fear.” Baekhyun hated how Kyungsoo was always just there, never announced, never making a sound until he wanted you to know he was there. He could have been there for the entire morning and Baekhyun wouldn’t have noticed. Chanyeol matched his look of surprise as Kyungsoo strode past Baekhyun to stand at Joonmyeon’s desk. “And I’ll question her with or without your permission.” Kyungsoo spoke at first without looking in his direction, cold before turning to him with a look that dared Baekhyun to push him. “Now will you get her or shall I?” ~~~ Her morning began uneventfully, only one man came in, his wife in tow. She let them in after he passed her a credit card and she didn’t question the situation any further. She pulled out her notebook, messy with scribbles and notes. She had seen how neat Yifan’s was in the logs and hers next to it looked childlike and clumsy so she made it her business to practice whenever she had the chance. She was engrossed in her writing, copying excerpts from the newspaper onto her lined pages. That was until a knock on the table caught her attention. “I’m sorry.” She gushed, looking up at her male visitor. Vampire. Her heart lurched and she held her breath at the sight. The stranger was neatly dressed in black jeans and a deep green T-shirt, his skin looked like it held warmth but pale. His eyes were the most deep the most daring shade of red she had yet to see. A dark maroon but still striking enough to be recognisable as inhuman. There was a dark cascade of brown hair that was tied loosely at his nape, without it, his long locks would have been longer than hers. “You’re human.” His voice was as expected, dark and seductive. She nodded. She saw him eye the collar that suddenly felt too restrictive. A small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth and she wondered what that look meant. Her twiddled with her pen nervously as she thought of what to say next. “D-do you want me to find you a girl for your n-needs?” She had never met this man before, this vampire was a stranger and it threw her. It was silly to forget that there was of course more vampires than what resided in the manor. His fingers where long, thick as he planted them on the desk leaning down, looming over her like a delicious smell. She noticed his eyes glint and she knew that look - she knew that look of hunger very well.   “I think you’ll do just fine.” She felt her stomach drop and she avoided his eyes, up close they were hypnotic, paired with the fine lines and plushness of his lips. She heard him draw in a breath through his nose, smelling her - smelling her sex from before. She crossed her legs, hoping it would hinder his exploration but she could tell from his dancing eyes it did no good. “You smell…” He leaned in closer and she leaned back in her chair. “... Naughty.” She was breathing heavy and she felt helpless as she looked back into his face and felt a pull towards him. Her body went rigid, her mind blanked, all coherent thoughts vanished as she blinked. She rolled her seat back forward back, a strange feeling washing over her as the stranger smiled at her. She felt herself stand up and she couldn’t find it in her to fight whatever made her do it. “Can we help you?” She blinked at the voice, her senses coming back under her control. She was leaning over the desk to him. His nose brushing against her collar bone with her head back invitingly. She couldn’t recall how she had gotten in that position, why or when but as Kyungsoo’s voice broke the silence the trance had been broken. She stepped back, startled, confused and completely red. The vampire turned at the voice, his smile not wavering in the slightest - cocky. “I wanted an easy feed, if you must know.” She looked towards Kyungsoo and the floor disappearing from under her. Baekhyun glanced at her, his eyes on fire as he came to stand next to the stranger. She swallowed thickly, guilt and worry beginning to brew in the pit of her lower belly. She stood still, feeling Baekhyun rage and she couldn’t bare to look at his face. “There’s no one for you here.” Kyungsoo’s voice was level, yet hostile. “You come into our home, uninvited.” Baekhyun’s voice was quite the opposite and she knew she was part of the cause. “And try to feed off one of our humans-- My human!” He endearment filled her with some sort of warmth, it was possession of the best kind - she was no longer just his whore, but his human. It only made her more guilty, more fearful. She still felt the slight chill of the stranger’s nose on her skin as he took in her scent and she subconsciously reached up to scratch the area; make the feeling go away. “Who are you? What’s your name?” Kyungsoo still calm. “Gabriel.” He didn’t take his eyes off the fuming Baekhyun as he answered and his fangs retracted back into his gums with ease. “Does Yifan still reside here?” “No. So go look elsewhere.” Kyungsoo lied. “Don’t come back.” Gabriel left. Baekhyun watched his disappearing form as he walked away, his strides arrogantly casual as he slowly disappeared between the trees out the window. Baekhyun whirled around then and his eyes looked like whirlpools of angry fire and fear made her immobile. “He Reveried her.” Kyungsoo announced cooly. “He’s almost elder, he has that ability.” Baekhyun said nothing and licked his dry lips. Kyungsoo came to her desk, mulling through her files in curiosity and just because. She didn’t know what that word meant only it was whatever it was that Gabriel had done to make her submit and give herself over. She felt sick at the thought, of how easy it was and just how quickly his magic had worked. “I need to ask you about what you saw yesterday.” Kyungsoo said. “What did he look like?” She hadn’t thought about it. Not since it happened. The dead white eyes, the gleaming grey skin that was almost transparent and the teeth. The horrible pinpoint sharp teeth and the long sickly fingers that drew blood just by squeezing her throat. She felt the wound throb in her neck just thinking about it. She was thankful the collar covered the remains of the wound. She sat herself down, feeling her knees weaken at the memory. She looked at Baekhyun hoping for a look of support and she got it. His red eyes as softened and although his jaw was still tight he appeared calm. She took a breath and flashes of it all bounced off her mind. Although she had tried to forget it, tried to push it into the furthest corners of her mind she somehow knew that she would have to answer questions later. “He was fast.” She croaked, throat feeling tight as if he was choking her yet again. “What did he look like?” Terrifying; she wanted to reply. She clutched her hands tightly atop of her thighs till her knuckles whitened. The same knuckles she had hit the creature with relentlessly as he choked the life from her. She could solemnly swear that she was more scared of him than anything she had ever faced living in the manor. “Pale…” She replied lowly. “Very pale… Like grey. His eyes were white a-and pointy teeth.” “Did he say anything?” Baekhyun asked this time and his hand drifted to her face cupping her chin. She shook her head and Baekhyun spared a glance to a thoughtful mute Kyungsoo as he placed a ringbinder back down where he had found it. “Thank you.” Was all he said before he rounded the desk and headed back down the corridor. She watched him go, concern written all over her face. She heard Baekhyun move in front of her and she turned to look at him wearily. “Baekhyun…” She stood on shaky legs and came to stand next to him. “I’m--” “He reveried you.” He forced out in a gruff voice. She could tell how hard it was for him to leash his jealous and possessive nature and she reached out gingerly for his hand. She squeezed his cold digits and she felt him reciprocate “You had no control.” “But what does that even mean?” She questioned anxiously. “It’s mind and body control.” His voice was tense. “It takes centuries to even be able to try it, decades more to perfect it… Only the eldest vampires know how.” She looked up at him, bringing her body closer. “Can you?” “I’ve never tried.” His look had turned sheepish, a small smile forming. “It takes a lot of control, something I don’t have.” “I-I think you’re quite good at control.” She moistened her lips apprehensive as she traced the side of his face with her fingers. His skin was smooth, up close she could see with faint blue lines of his veins behind his pale complexion. They were prominent when he was most fed but only up close. She had noticed only recently the small faint lines as they curved down his jaw and ran down his neck. She followed one up into his hair, running her fingers through the thick strands, knowing how much he liked it when she initiated the first touches. A long and worthwhile progression of their relationship; Baekhyun never allowed her to touch him. But now he couldn’t get enough of the tentative feeling of her warm hands on his skin, the genuine affection that she showed him he greedily drank up. He had been starved of that for too long. “You think so?” He asked with disbelief, quirking his brow. She looked back into his eyes. They weren’t deep, they were a familiar depth filled with warmth and adoration for no one other than her. They were beautiful in their own way, a better way because they were his. Her face brightened again into a faint pink and she pressed herself snug against his hard body. She wrapped her arms around his neck, a small nervous smile playing on her face. “But you don’t need to Reverie me to get what you want.” Baekhyun’s tongue licked the corner of his mouth as his brows rose in surprise. He smiled, his hands holding her waist firmly, pressing her to him even tighter. “You’re right.” He nodded, mischief brewing behind his eyes. “All I need to do…”
He bowed down, his mouth brushing against her ear as is voice deepened and his grip on her body became tighter and in a sly voice that made her melt he said; “... is lick that pretty cunt between your legs and you’ll give me everything.”

Angelic : Unravelling (Park Chanyeol/Reader)

Full masterlist
Her
It was only the sensation of falling that I remembered. Sinking past the clouds, descending through the heavens. Hurtling towards the earth.
My stomach turned and twisted as I fell, my mind dizzy from the rapid descent.
Until I lost consciousness, sinking into the impenetrable wave of blackness that clouded my vision.
It was a gentle kiss against my cheek that awakened me, making me open my eyes into this new world that was to be my home.
His shimmering eyes were what I saw first, his full lips curved upwards into a smile. The single dimple pitting his right cheek.
It was then that recognition came.
"Yixing..." I breathed, relief palpable in my voice.
He smiled wider, the warmth of his palm cradling my face. "Welcome, princess."
A rush of calm seeped through his touch, washing over me, easing my every worry. I leaned into his touch, seeking more of the sweet comfort that he was bringing me.
He chuckled and closed the distance between us, pressing his lips to mine in a chaste, simple kiss.
I sighed.
"Its okay," Yixing murmured against my lips. "You're home now."
He helped me sit up against the head of the bed I was lying upon, raising me with gentle but strong arms.
I looked around the room. It was a spacious place, done up minimalistically in whites and creams.
It was through the curious wandering of my eyes that my gaze landed on the man sitting at the foot of the bed. Glowing eyes, dark hair. Porcelain skin. And an impish grin on his face.
"Baekhyun!"
With a laugh that conveyed nothing but joy, he scrambled toward me.
Hands twining into my hair, he pulled me toward him, our lips meeting. Again, an innocent kiss. A form of greeting. A welcome. But I couldn't help but gasp at the light that burst through my body upon the contact. And I could've sworn that when he pulled away from me, the world seemed brighter.
Another hand cupped my cheek and tilted my head backwards, his thumb gently caressing my lips.
"Jongdae..." I gasped, staring at him, watching his lips twitch into a smirk.
"You're finally here, little one," he said, before bringing his lips down upon mine in a sweet kiss.
The three of them were pulling me into their arms, pressing kisses everywhere they could reach, making soft moans rise from my throat.
I couldn't begin to understand what was happening, but it felt so pleasant and comforting, that I gave in to them.
Jongdae pulled me into his arms, perching me upon his lap, my legs spread on either side of his hips.
"Shhh..." he hushed me, between soft kisses pressed into my neck. "Just relax, little one..."
Baekhyun's hand came to cup my face, turning me so that he could press his lips into mine once more.
"Baekkie..." I whimpered against his mouth. "What is this?"
His hands undid the bindings of my dress, the material falling away to pool at my waist.
"Its such a shame that Lu and Min aren't here," Baekhyun tutted, his eyes running all over my exposed skin. "They won't be able to see your Unravelling."
Yixing came up behind me, gently sweeping my hair away to reveal my back.
Just as I was about to ask what he was going to do, he leaned into me and pressed his mouth against the scar beside my right shoulder blade. One of the twin scars that ran parallel to my spine. Where my wings were rooted.
Upon the contact of his lips, I leaned forward, pressing myself into Jongdae's embrace, biting down on my lip as a jolt of pure pleasure surged through my body.
"Oh, god..." I moaned, my nails digging into Jongdae's shoulders.
Baekhyun latched on to the scar near my left shoulder blade and I let out a keening whine.
"Its alright, princess," Jongdae whispered into my ear. "Just feel them..."
I whimpered and clung to him, shutting my eyes as I felt Baekhyun and Yixing slowly mouth and nip at my scars.
Tingles of heat rushed through my body at their kisses, my vision swimming with pleasure.
I could feel a shift deep within me, the twin scars on my back aching and itching and twinging pleasurably.
It felt so sweet, so delicious, that I didn't know how else to describe the feeling.
Something, something was rising and building deep within me. Clawing through to the surface with an intensity that both frightened and intrigued me, leaving me a whimpering mess.
I didn't know what was coming, but it was coming to claim me.
And when Baekhyun and Yixing sank their tongues into and past the seams of my scars, I was gone.
With an almost painful arch of my back I cried out in agony and ecstasy, so loud that the sound echoed through the house.
My wings, that had been carefully hidden away, burst through the scars, searing and burning their way out as they unfurled on either side of me.
I fell limp against Jongdae, gasping, panting. Trying to recover from my Unravelling. His hands smoothed along the expanse and my back, fingers brushing against the roots of my wings, drawing out a soft moan from me.
"Welcome to earth, princess..."
___________________________
Him
Deep within the fiery recesses of Hell, he sat atop his throne.
Clad in leather as black as night itself, he looked majestic. A crown studded with rows of onyx and black quartz resting atop his flaming crimson hair.
He was bewitching.
His skin was pale, sculpted as if from marble, flawless and glowing. High cheekbones. Full lips, the bottom one of which he had drawn between his teeth.
For there, between his spread legs, sat a succubus, her ruby red lips wrapped around his erect and rigid cock.
"Use your mouth like you mean it, whore," he commanded her in his deep baritone. "Worship your king."
His hand, that was adorned with rings, gleaming platinum and even more onyx, clutched at her hair, roughly pushing her down to choke on his colossal length.
She took him in obediently, deep down her throat, sucking at him, trying so desperately to please him, because failure to do so would surely result in her death.
He leaned back, closing his eyes and savouring the sweet pleasure that was stirring in his loins. In his mind, he dreamt of her.
The one who had haunted his dreams for centuries now.
God's only daughter.
The one, who was believed to be so beautiful, that she could bring any man to his knees with a glance alone.
The one he wanted to taint, just to be able to gloat in her father's face, that he had corrupted his most incorruptible.
He groaned at the thought of her, on her knees, taking him in her mouth, while he sat on his throne.
Maybe he'd fuck her in front of her father...
"Fuck..." he groaned, thrusting up into his whore's mouth, his climax fast approaching.
He pressed himself into her mouth, imagining the feel of her supple, naked skin against his. The clench of her luscious, virgin cunt around his cock.
And right before he was about to spill, he heard her cry.
He heard her.
Agony and ecstasy, melded into a gorgeous sound that instantly undid him, making him blow into his whore's mouth with a guttural cry of his own.
Once he calmed, he hastily pulled out of her mouth, tucking himself back in.
"YIFAN! KYUNGSOO!" he bellowed.
Almost instantly, his brothers appeared before him. Clad in black, like him.
He smirked at his brothers.
"Gather the rest. Sehun, Jongin, Tao," he instructed. "Gather them all. We're going to earth."

Too Late
Tumblr media
WolfAU!
Warning: Mention of suicide, language
You and Sehun were childhood friends.
You loved spending time with him all your life.
But recently he changed. He became more distant and he started to meet with girls. That, in particular, hurt the most. Since you always felt a strange attraction to him, later you realized that it was because you two were mates.
But that pain was nothing compared to the thing he said on your last say with him.
You were in the EXO house. All nine boys, living in a huge house near the woods.
All of them were werewolves. You knew that since you were a teen. At first, you found it hard to believe, but it was true. They were our family since the death of your parents.
So, all of them lived in a house, some even had their mates living there.
You see, wolves have something called a mate, a life-time partner, who they are destined to be with.
You learned that there are many other packs like theirs, even in the area. But they all were on good terms. However, deep in the woods was a river, on the other side lived a pack that was in a dispute with the Exo pack. It went way back in history when the previous pack leader tried to get the EXO house due to its better economic position and land.
There was also, a mountain, a tall and huge mountain that looked rather scary to everyone, was also the source of the river, a cleft ran along the mountain, splitting it in two, creating a dark and seemingly never-ending abyss.
It was forbidden to go there for everyone because of safety reasons. Also because of a story, there was a saying that a man died there once, he supposedly killed himself after he killed his wife, but his ghost stayed there. Nowadays people are saying that whoever goes there, his ghost appears and will try and talk everyone into suicide.
***
Many thoughts ran in your mind as you made your way to the boys’ house,. Sehun didn’t call you over, Chen did. He was worried about Sehun’s behavior and called you over for help.
So, naturally, you had to go. However, when you found Sehun with a girl in his room, you almost threw up. It hurt too much. Seeing him with someone else left a deep scar in you. Especially since you recognized the girl and she was always horrible to you in school.
Your eyes filled with tears, but you held them in as you made your way back to the front door, but Sehun ran after you and was rather angry. You were so close to the front door when he grabbed your arm.
“Let go of me!” great, now everyone has to hear the two of you argue, you thought as the others gathered around you.
“What the hell is your problem?!”
“No! This is not my fault! Don’t make me into the bad person here! You did this. You pushed me away! When you knew that I AM your mate!”
He ran towards you. He was so angry. For a few seconds you thought he might hit you, but Chanyeol held him back.
“You are such a useless little bitch! Claiming to be my mate? Who would ever want you around?!” and with that, he stormed back upstairs probably to finish what he started with the girl.
“Y/N…” Chen tried to talk to you, but you ran outside, into the woods, crying, heart in pain, head throbbing and confused. You ran for the longest time.
You didn’t even realize but soon, you reached the river and the side of the mountain. You would never know why, but you decided to head up, maybe the promise of fresh air is what you wished for.
***
“YAH! Sehun!” Chanyeol ran up the stairs and grabbed Sehun before he could enter his room.
“What?”
“Why were you so harsh with her? Why do you act like this, like an asshole! You know, she’s your mate!” Sehun abruptly turned towards Chanyeol.
“No, she’s not. I don’t have a mate!”
“That’s bullshit! All of us have! You should probably stop denying it and just accept it! I know you love her!” Chanyeol had so much more to say but Xiumin interrupted him.
“Guys! Y/N ran into the forest. I think we should go after her!” said Xiumin who just came up the stairs. Sehun only rolled his eyes.
***
You don’t how you ended up there. Near the huge gap in front of you when all you needed was fresh air.
It was dark, but you could see that the abyss was even darker. However, something about it comforted you. Maybe it was the stillness or the silence of it.
There was a noise behind you as you turned and saw a man in front of you.
He didn’t look like a ghost. But how do you know, how a ghost is supposed to look like?
“Hello, little one.”
You couldn’t answer. The man looked beyond handsome, like a God.
“Why are you here?” he smiled at you.
“I…..”
“Ah. A broken heart. I see. Here to end it?” he looked into the dark hole.
“What? No!”
“Then, why are you here? Crying, broken, weak.”
“I…I don’t know.” The man started to move as you moved away from him. He might be handsome, but you knew, you shouldn’t trust him.
“I have seen many men and women come here to start a new chapter in their lives. They came here for different reasons, broken let it be because of money, family, or love. But they all leave happy.”
You didn’t know what he was talking about. There weren’t any stories told about suicides at that place, well besides that one time.
“Do you want that?” that was the first time you looked into his eyes.
Deep brown almost black. His eyes held no emotion. Even if he was smiling, that didn’t reach his eyes. You felt, captivated. Something took over your actions, but it wasn’t your own mind.
“I love someone. But he doesn’t want me.”
“I see. You poor thing.” you came closer to him, he raised his hand and ran the back of it down your cheek. “A wolf? I thought they are bound to love one person. Seems like yours doesn’t want you. How sad.” he walked away from you, your eyes followed him. You still didn’t know how he knew all of this.
He walked close to the edge inviting you to follow him.
“Your answer is right here.” he said
“Death?” you questioned, he laughed.
“No, of course not. That would be too easy. You weren’t paying attention. I told you already. People who come up here, start a new chapter.” you were confused, but you didn’t move.
“I don’t understand.”
“You’re so very young. And beautiful. That wolf is crazy not to claim you.” he let out a sigh and walked up to you once again. It started to rain.
“You have two options now. Either you go back to that dog and watch as he destroys your life or” he moved once again to gesture to the hole. “a new beginning.”
You were beyond confused. What did he mean by that? As if he could read minds, he answered you. The rain stopped and now the moonlight lit up the place and a part of the abyss.
“All you have to do is let go of this life. Like an angel, fall from the sky and begin a new life as a human. You can do the same. But beware, there is only one ending to this. If you decide to let go of everything, you will live in the ocean.”
Now you were even more confused than before. Falling into a huge pit will make you into a mermaid? Was this man high on something?
“At least that’s what happened to me. My story is a bit complicated but, I came here to kill myself, yet I became something better.”
So he is the man that everyone is talking about.
“And I had my revenge. You can have yours. All the women and he can suffer just as you did.”
You weren’t a revengeful person, so that’s not what you wanted, but starting anew did sound good. And something in the beautiful man, maybe his voice, or his eyes, the way the talked, made you feel captivated.
“All you have to do is…fall.” he held his hand out to you and you started to walk towards him, your mind blinded.
“Fall?”
“Yes, dear. I promise that all the pain and suffering will go away.”
You didn’t notice how close you were to the edge, only when you heard a loud voice calling your name from the other side of the cleft.
“Y/N!” you opened your eyes and saw all nine members of the pack on the other side. The man was still holding your hand. You didn’t know how you ended up on the other side of the cleft and your mind felt foggy.
“What are you doing?” asked Suho. “Let go of her! Y/N, go away from the edge!”
You barely heard him. The man had some kind of power, you were sure of it. But everything felt better like this. Your eyes locked with Sehun’s. Your heart ached even more. He looked worried which surprised you, since he wasn’t the worrying time, ever.
“Make the pain go away.” you whispered, eyes still locked with Sehun. Seemed like that with his presence there, the words of the beautiful man cut even deeper.
You have to do it alone, dear. I will be better, I promise.” You looked into the darkness before you.
“Y/N!” many of the boys shouted. The man was gone from your side. You were all alone. Alone to make the decision. “Y/N. Stay there, I will go and get you.” said Chen as he and a few of the others started to walk along the cleft, trying to find a spot to cross it.
You looked at Sehun once again when finally decided to speak.
“Y/N, please. I know I never told you this but I love you! Please, you are my mate, my everything! Just go back, let’s talk about this. Please, I’m sorry.”
And there it was, he finally said it. His true feelings, his words were sincere, that you can tell, but you couldn’t be happy with his confession.
After seeing him with many women, most of them from the group that hated you and bullied you your whole life.
With your eyes still locked, you saw movement from the corner of your eye, probably Chen and the others who crossed.
“Too late.” you whispered and took a step forward.
Many yelled your name, many yelled ‘no’. Two of them had to hold Sehun back so he wouldn’t jump after you. But, you did it. You decided to believe in the words of the stranger and start a new life.
You would say that this action was wrong and unreasonable. You love admitted his feelings, you could have started a new life with him, but you just couldn’t. After how he hurt you. Mate or not, he shouldn’t have done that.
***
Days passed. Sehun felt soo empty. His other half was gone and by his fault. He couldn’t even get out of the bed, just for food and bathroom, but nothing else other than that. He stayed in. He just couldn’t forget your eyes before you did the unbelievable, so much sadness. Sehun could only create theories about what the man could possibly say to you to get such a reaction from you. But deep down Sehun knew, he couldn’t blame all of it on the stranger, it was his fault that you walked off the edge, he pushed you so far. He couldn’t admit his feelings and hurt you.
Chanyeol has been trying to move him from the house, with no success.
Then one day the door to his room opened and in came Suho. He threw a sweater at Sehun.
“Come on! We are going to the store, Minseok will prepare something for dinner.”
“I’m not going.”
Suho let out a sigh and sat on Sehun’s bed.
“Look, we all miss her. And although I don’t know how it feels like to lose your mate, I do know that this is not healthy, Sehun. You can’t lock yourself away.”
In the end, Sehun went with Suho.
At the market they picked up a lot of different food.
“All we need is some fish and we are ready to go home.” said Suho as they walked further into the market.
“Welcome how can I help you?” the old lady asked.
As Suho bought the last ingredient for the dinner, Sehun looked around. He looked at the many people there.
Something caught his eye. He only saw the back of the woman, but he started to walk towards her.
“Y/N!” as the woman turned he could clearly see, it wasn’t you. “Sorry.”
***
The others were happy that Sehun finally went out of his room. But little did they know, he went to look for you. He even asked people if they have seen you. With very little luck.
That went on for a week.
Slowly, Sehun had to come to terms with the fact that he lost you.
***
As it turned out, the stranger didn’t lie.
As surreal as it might sound, but walking off a cleft and falling into an abyss did turn you into a mermaid. And now, you heard the moon.
It talked with you.
It told you stories.
And why did it decide to turn every poor soul into such a creature if they decide to jump into the abyss? That part you never truly understood. Maybe it was that mermaids are calm and happy creatures? Maybe that they never had problems? Only the moon knew.
One thing was for sure, it pitied the souls of many innocent people, who suffered from losses or heartbreaks. The moon gave them another chance. Another chance to live, laugh and love.
And you were from the very few, who got to experience that. Even if you could barely leave the water for now. The moon also explained that stronger mermaids are able to leave the water for years even. But not you, not yet at least. You hoped that with time and experience, you’ll have the ability not only to turn your legs back and walk on ground again but to find someone to love.
Although your life changed drastically, you didn’t regret it. You had the memories. You didn’t have family, well besides the guys, so not many people missed you and no one looked for you, well that you knew of.
So, you swam around, explored the world of the sea and oceans. You were careful not to get caught though.
You found a rather comfortable rock in the sea which was close to the beach. You often went to that beach as a teen with the guys, so it always had a special place in your heart. The good memories always came back, all the laughter and great time you spent there, when Xiumin and you pranked the boys, or when you helped Kyungsoo cook food. Even the memories about Sehun seemed sweeter now. Well, not all though. You just couldn’t leave that place.
One day, you saw to guys walking and talking in the sand, you hid behind the rock and watched them, you didn’t know who they were. They had a conversation and it got a bit heated one punched the other, and with that, he left.
You watched him as he let out a frustrated yell and ran into the water.
This was when you decided to leave.
***
It was dark. Middle of the night, everyone and everything was asleep.
You did the stupidest thing and swam up the river. Something was still bounding you to that place.
Yes, the river that separated two wolf packs, you found the waterfall where you often went with Chanyeol and Sehun as children to play at.
That part of the river was wider and the water was deeper so you decided to stop and take a rest there.
You looked up in the sky and the full moon.
“Is he okay? I hope he will get over me.”
“He’s looking for you.” answered the moon.
“Stupid boy. He will never find me.”
“That was your plan. Wasn’t it?”
“Well, yeah. I’m free. Not really a plan, all I wanted was the pain to stop. And it did.”
“For you.”
“Don’t make me into the wrong person here! I did what I had to. I don’t want a pity love.”
There was a noise in the forest and a boy walked out from the bushes. The same boy that you saw on the beach earlier.
He was on the opposite side of the river. So he was a member of the pack that had the issue with Exo.
He didn’t notice you immediately. But as he looked up he saw you. For some reason, he didn’t find it weird that you were there. His eyes captured you. He was handsome from up-close.
“Hi.” he simply said. Since he only wanted to talk with someone.
“Hello. My name is Y/N. What’s your name?”
“Jimin.”

A/N: Listen to Hold Me Tight for this chapter!
Tumblr media
Life had slowed down in some stages for me while picked up pace in other stages.
I no longer could tell where my nights went, quiet and spent in the solace of my bedroom while my laptop played all the hits of misery and melancholy and chocolate ice cream was my main man and my bed my soul mate. The nights never seemed to want to stay though, slipping through my fingers like sand, 10 hours passing by in the blink of an eye. I would close my eyes and it would be day.
The days however dragged on and on and on.
I couldn’t afford to sit at home all the time so I had to go to classes, sitting through them distracted and not getting anything except marks for attendance. I figured, I could always ask one of my classmates for help getting the coursework…when I got over the catastrophe my life had become.
There were two classes I avoided like the plague though; Singing and Music Production.
There was no way Sehun or Min Yoongi would be missing their classes over me and I was in no way ready to look either of them in the eye yet. I had to sit in one of the on campus cafes but the hours always seemed to go like it a snail weaving its way through a maze of salt.
I had cursed Time to the very pits of hell, right next to Min Yoongi.
He and Sehun had nearly completely vanished from my life, Sehun less than Yoongi. I still saw him around, walking about with his friends, sometimes girls, sometimes boys, looking perfectly groomed as always, the Golden Boy. He never seemed to be aware of my watching him and after a while he stopped looking like there was nothing wrong with his life.
The rumor that Oh Sehun and Y/L/N Y/N had broken up reached me a week later which made me wonder if Sehun had actually somehow withheld the information to save whatever damage that would cause his image but it didn’t seem like it. He was brilliant as always...
…and I didn’t miss him…not even a bit.
Yoongi however, I never saw. It wasn’t that surprising; I hadn’t even known he went to the same college until the project so it made sense I wouldn’t see him around later. This had been the plan, hadn’t it? To see through the project, then bid adieu. Well, that hadn’t worked but oh well.
In comparison…I missed him an unnecessary amount.
Life was not fair.
Tumblr media
“Here you go,” Taehyung placed my large helping of school work on the table and folded his arms, watching me file through them, his glasses glinting in the light.
“Thanks Tae, I don’t know what I’d do without you.” I muttered.
“Well, totally not pass the course, for one,” he said drily but grinned impishly when I rolled my eyes at him. “So, what’s wrong with you, anyway?” he asked.
“Nothing, I just don’t feel right.” I said.
“Is it cause of Min?” he asked.
I blanched at him and it was his chance to roll his eyes.
“I may not be the girls, Y/N, attuned to these things but I’m not blind. It’s been painfully obvious. What did he do? Do I need to kick his ass?” he asked.
I chuckled. Taehyung, shy and meek Taehyung kicking someone’s ass, especially Min Yoongi’s ass was comical even in its contemplative state but I was grateful he cared so much.
“No, Tae, you know I can do ass kicking myself.” I smiled.
He smiled back hesitatingly.
“So, any word on Sehun?” he asked gently.
I froze.
Taehyung knew Sehun and I had ended it but he had no idea that Yoongi had something to do with it. That information was only for the girls. I loved Taehyung but I wasn’t sure how he would take the news, seeing as he had once seen me crying because of him. Taehyung would probably go into over protective mode and do something he would regret.
No matter how laid back Yoongi seemed, I for one could tell that under all that, he was extremely powerful and I wasn’t talking about his money.
Hence, I knew Taehyung, who couldn’t stand conflict usually would want Sehun and me to get back together.
“No, Tae, it’s over…for good.” I said firmly, watching him sigh and look down, nodding.
“I guess it’s good, what with your liking Min and all.” He slung his bag on his shoulder, ignoring my gaping mouth as he dropped a kiss on top of my head.
“See you later, Y/N.” he said and left the café.
Tumblr media
“Heard you’ve been skipping all your classes,” I smiled naturally at the familiar voice, not looking up as the boy deposited himself in the seat Taehyung had vacated, looking dubiously at all the paper work in front of me.
“You would’ve heard wrong. I am only skipping two.” I said, making him laugh.
“My bad, what can you say? The school vine sucks.” Jimin placed his head on his hands.
I looked up at him. “Why are you here?” I asked.
He pouted. “You don’t visit me anymore, I missed you.” He said. I stared at him for a bit and his playful expression dropped, replaced by seriousness. “I heard about you and Sehun. I’m sorry. I also heard about you dropping Yoongi in the project.” He said.
I peered at him. “Did he tell you that? Is that all?” I asked.
“Yeah, or more like, I found out accidentally because he was muttering about you dropping him at the last moment in the studio and how he was stuck,” He said.
“Well, tell him that I’m glad he’s suffering.” I said coolly, returning to my papers.
“Yeah, I would if I could but we’re not talking at the moment.” He said.
I frowned, “Why not?” I asked.
“Well, I…asked him what happened and you know how he is about eavesdropping. It’s fine only when he does it, apparently. I found out about Sehun’s party and stuff and I know I shouldn’t have and I am not judging you at all.” He said hastily.
“What are you talking about?” I asked.
“I know you guys kissed and how it was a mistake and it shouldn’t have happened and you were drunk and he was taking advantage so he told you to go and I…might’ve yelled at him about how he’s an idiot and now he’s mad at me. Not that that’s new anyway, he’s always mad at me.”
I suddenly felt disgusted. He couldn’t even tell the truth?
“Jimin, I’m sorry.” I said quietly.
“Don’t worry about it, he’s an ass, I know.”
“Yeah, listen, I need to go.” I said, feeling choked and restless.
I couldn’t sit here in front of Jimin’s watchful gaze. Yoongi had lied about what had happened that night to protect him, most likely. Was that how much I mattered? No, I hadn’t mattered, I reminded myself. I was just a stupid girl, romanticizing his actions. I need to stop doing that.
“Oh, okay,” Jimin looked surprised but didn’t say anything as I gathered up the papers and went off to find the girls.
Tumblr media
“He lied?” Yerin hissed, her cheeks flushed, her legs, encased in velvet leggings kicking mine as she almost thrashed in her chair in rage.
I shrugged, stabbing some sausage with a little more force but that totally had nothing to do with our topic of conversation, none at all.
“What a jerk.”
“The nerve.”
Ara and Doona chimed in encouragingly but by then I was beyond the point of caring. If Yoongi wanted to show me that I was worth next to nothing well then, message received loud and clear. I would back off and I would show him exactly that. I was done with both Sehun and Yoongi’s crap. I was done being walked over.
Both of them would be seeing me in the next class, which happened to be in two more days. That was plenty of time, wasn’t it? I would be over all of this by Monday. I could do it.
“Well the project ends today, what do you think he did with yours?” Doona asked suddenly.
My fork hit my plate with a loud clang making the girl freeze as they eyed me.
“Um…Y/N…?” Ara asked.
“The month is over?” I asked, my voice high pitched as Ara pulled up the calendar on her phone, showing it to me.
Tumblr media
The end of the month hit me with the force of ten freight trucks. I had been so wrapped in the entire self wallowing bubble of mine I hadn’t even thought about taking a look at the days, wanting to just get through them all together.
It suddenly felt silly.
What had it been? A fortnight, perhaps, since our last encounter. Yoongi and I, if we hadn’t been through that disaster of a night, we would just have to deal with each other for two weeks before we’d both be out of each other’s lives for good. Guess destiny had an earlier escape planned for us.
Now that the project was officially done, Taehyung and I would be partners again, further reason to attend classes, just for Tae if not for me. I couldn’t be that selfish.
The thought that Yoongi would be sitting right at the back, probably not even concerned that I had or hadn’t attended classes caused a small ache in my chest, one I crushed mercilessly. Both Sehun and Yoongi had pushed and pulled at me like I was a doll. Even if I was not completely innocent, they had no right to claim they were victimized saints.
I had trusted them that had killed a small part of me each time they let me down. I had loved them, they both hurt me. I was real with both of them and now they both hated me.
Now, though, it was time to get myself together.
I wasn’t rich; I didn’t have my position cut out like they did. No, I needed credibility. I wasn’t going to achieve that sitting at home.
Gritting my teeth, I braced myself for the next day.
Tumblr media
Hoseok slammed the door to Min Yoongi’s house open with his shoulder, his hands struggling to juggle the snack boxes and coffees.
Yoongi looked up from the couch, arching his brows at his struggling friend.
“You know, it wouldn’t kill you to get up and give me a goddamn hand.” Hobi growled.
“I didn’t tell you to get more than you can carry.” Yoongi replied coolly, his attention already on the movie.
“You know how hungry Jimin and I get. We don’t have the luxury of sitting on our asses with headphones on all the time, acting like a jerk.” Hobi dropped the food on the coffee table before looking about.
“Where is Jimin anyway?”
“He isn’t coming.” Yoongi said.
“What, why? Chim never misses movie day and this is his recommendation.” Hobi frowned before slowly turning to look at his best friend.
“Yoongi, what did you do?” He asked.
“I may or may not have told Jimin off for butting into things that weren’t his concern and he might or might not have been offended and walked off.” Yoongi said.
Hobi worried his lips with his teeth, sighing at his friends’ childishness.
“What was the thing he butted in?” he asked.
Yoongi flicked the volume up with his remote, shrugging the question off. “Damn it, Suga, spit it out.” He snapped.
Yoongi’s eyes flashed towards his best friends with a frown. “Nothing, I was just muttering about things and he overheard. Instead of letting it go he started probing into me like a fucking therapist.” He growled.
Hobi sank into the armchair next to the couch. All the sign pointed to only one thing.
“It was Y/N, wasn’t it?” he asked angrily.
Yoongi paused for a second before leaning forwards for the cup of coffee but Hoseok was faster. He snatched the cups away and watched coolly as the other boy glared at him.
“So, it was her.” He affirmed.
“What about it? I can talk about whoever I want.” Yoongi said.
“Yoongi, you know Jimin cares about her,” Hoseok began but Yoongi broke in with a scoff.
“He cares about her a bit too much.” he spat.
“Oh god, tell me you’re not jealous. Jimin doesn’t care about her like that but he wasn’t just about to let you bad mouth her. Even I wouldn’t let you bad mouth her.” He said reasonably.
“I wasn’t bad mouthing her. Jeez, you all need to stop getting on my back about her. I might have been a dick to her that night but I haven’t even seen her since she broke it off with her boyfriend.” He dropped his jaw, sticking his lips out in a pout as unbidden, thoughts of Y/N came out of nowhere, his fingers on her skin, her soft lips brushing his, the way his hands dug into her hips, the way her eyes looked into his, her laugh at his rare and very not funny jokes.
“Wait…you saw her day she broke up with Sehun?” Hoseok asked.
Yoongi was brought back rudely to reality from reliving the feel of her hair wrapped around his fingers as he turned his head absently. “What?”
“You said you hadn’t seen her since the day she broke it off. You didn’t…what happened?” Hobi was using his cautious voice. He could feel the real cause for all his friend’s problems was sitting right there, in Yoongi’s head and he just had to know.
“I don’t know what –,”
“Yoongi,” Hoseok said warningly.
His eyes drooped, looking to his side as if he was looking at a person before he sighed. “We…slept together.” He said his voice constricted.
The curse that escaped Hobi’s mouth was so loud that Yoongi actually jumped, scowling at his usually mild friend.
“You…what?” Hobi asked.
“We didn’t plan it. It just happened.” Yoongi defended.
“Ok…ok…so you guys had sex…but then…why aren’t you guys…what else happened?” he asked.
Yoongi fiddled with the small black ring on his thumb and Hoseok actually had to punch him in the shoulder to get him to talk. Yoongi hissed, moving away from touching range.
“I said things I shouldn’t have…nothing new.” He grunted.
“Things like that time in the studio or…”
“Worse,”
Hobi dropped his head in his hands, emitting a groan that made Yoongi drop his own head, the movie long forgotten.
Tumblr media
My fingers clicked on the desk impatiently, frowning at the small email box open on my laptop. It had to be a mistake. There was no way he had sent that email. I clicked on the tab to fully open it.
It was from Namjoon, a short email letting me know that he had received my and Yoongi’s song, looked forward to it and hoped we matched up to expectations.
I let out a bitter huff, falling back on the chair.
What song?
I had left Yoongi in that project. There was no way he had managed to complete a song in that time and even if he had, seeing as how he was a genius, there was no way he would include me into it. He was petty enough for that. Although, he probably did it to save face for himself, because that was what he did. I had no place of note in his life after all, so it definitely wasn’t for me.
I shut the laptop and got out of my chair with a huff, picking up and satchel and jacket, looking into the mirror of my dressing table.
“You can do this.” I told myself and walked out of the house to attend my classes.
Tumblr media
Taehyung gushed the whole time I sat next to him, finally getting our original partners back.
I had walked into the class with the aim to hold my head up high but it had faltered the second I had crossed the threshold and my head had dropped, not even skimming the chattering class as I sank into my chair, Tae turning immediately and musing about our new projects. I knew he was trying to distract me and I was grateful.
Mr. Kim didn’t seem to have much planned for the day’s class, it seemed. He congratulated us for being well behaved and responsible about the assignment, told us that grades and songs will be posted on the website before being added to our final grade.
I frowned, biting my lip, fighting the urge to turn and look for the man who’d turned my life upside down but resisted. What had he done?
When Namjoon let the class go, Taehyung immediately grabbed for my hand. “So, hot chocolate…your treat,” he said cutely and I almost melted at the hopeful look in his eyes.
“How about this; we go to your house and I make you an entire lunch…and I am dying to listen to your song.” I said. His smile turned into a grin. “Yes, that works.” He said, bouncing slightly on his feet. “Great, just give me a minute, I need to talk to Kim about something.” I said.
“Sure, meet me at my car.” He said.
Tumblr media
“Um, Mr. Kim?” I asked.
Namjoon signed off a sheet and looked up, pushing his glasses up, “Yes, Y/N, I know, Taehyung told me you were feeling sick and had hospital appointments.” He said.
“Oh no, I mean, yeah, sir, I just wanted to talk to you about the project.” I said.
He surprised me by breaking out into a grin. “Yes, your song with Mr. Min. I must say I am impressed, Y/N. the way you came to me saying you couldn’t work with him had me thinking you would drop out of the project but you kept at it. The song is…most different from what Yoongi has delivered over the course of this semester. I was pleasantly surprised. I suppose my assumption was correct; you have been good for Mr. Min.”
“Huh?” I said, very eloquently but he was still talking.
“It’s raw, I admit, but the emotion and meaning of the song is so…unadulterated, it really moved me. Your and his voice match well for it, I might just pair you with him but I wouldn’t so that to Taehyung or Yoongi. Changing assignments, maybe but now completely, don’t worry,” he chuckled at the look on my face, probably thinking I was horrified of losing Tae. He was wrong; of course, I was horrified at what Min Yoongi had done.
I bowed to the teacher before rushing out.
“Whoa, where’s the fire?” Taehyung asked as I grabbed the keys from his hands. “Just get in, we need to get somewhere with net and a computer fast.” I huffed, getting into the driver’s side myself.
Tumblr media
“You want to tell me now, what’s wrong?” Taehyung asked, cautiously as if I was going to bite his head off any second.
“Just hang on,” I mumbled.
Taehyung and I had arrived at his apartment at break neck speed, him clutching his dashboard and trying to get me to slow down but I never did, almost dislocating his arm in my haste to get to his laptop. I switched to the website and opened the studio listings, finding Yoongi’s name immediately, listed next to mine.
I plugged in Tae’s headphones and put them over my head, turning up the volume as Taehyung folded his legs under him, watching me.
Tumblr media
The opening rifts began and to my surprise and growing trepidation it was that piano tune, the one I’d walked in on him playing. Dark and resonating, it ended in him humming, something I had never heard him do as the song began.
I empty my drink, filling it with loneliness,
Should’ve just given in, why did I argue all the time?
Yoongi’s voice, rough and bleak spoke the words quietly, almost rhetorically, making me press the headphone in closer, not wanting to miss out anything.
All I did was color you in my blank white paper,
But I realized, it had already became a full picture,
Like cell phones, we know we’ll be broken when we’re apart,
Your scent is the only thing that completes me, hug me, now
His voice changed, becoming faster, if possible rougher as he spat out the words. I closed my eyes as the background music stopped, leaving his voice to drop back to the original bass, becoming as gentle as a caress.
I can only see you; I can only see you alone.
I shivered at his voice, the timbre reminding me of the way he had said my name, that night. Unexpectedly, my voice sung out, weaving in between his as the words I’d written and recorded merged with the deep rap.
I’m fair with everyone else but you,
Now I can’t live a single day without you, please…
Hold me Tight…hug me now, please…
My hand shook as I skipped my voice, eager to listen to his.
I listened to the entire song for what felt like hours, not believing even for a second that it existed. But no, on the desktop there was still, in small letterings his and my name next to the title: Hold Me Tight, a song with both our words.
I shut the laptop at long last, pulling off the headphones to look at Taehyung curled up on the sofa, fast asleep.
Just as well, I thought, throwing the throw cover on top of him as I sat down on the floor again, my head in my hands.
What did it mean? Did Yoongi actually mean the words he’d said so unabashedly, sewing them around mine seamlessly, making them one? Or had he just heard what I’d made and thought he didn’t have to go to a lot of trouble? One thing was true, it was raw. He hadn’t added any effect to his or my voices save for making it seem like we’d both done the recording at the same time.
Did…he feel the way he’d said in the song?
I shook my head, clearing it or trying to. Min Yoongi needed to get out of my head. It was over, we were over. I never was going to see him again. There was no point in digging into it.
I looked at the sleeping boy next to me and smiled, pulling out my phone and sending out a text in our group:
PARTY TIME GIRLS AND BOYS TODAY AT DARK WILD, 8 PM
I shut the phone off, staring into nothingness in front of me. It was time I went back to normal, no Yoongi, no Sehun drama normal.
Tumblr media
Taehyung twirled me, me holding onto his pinky finger as he giggled like a little boy, before throwing out his long arms and waving them to catch Ara and Doona’s attention. We had finally made it to Dark Wild, me, the girls, Taehyung and Jungkook as I was ready to let loose and forget my life for at least three to four hours.
Ara and Doona dragged Yerin and Jungkook too and we made a circle, screaming as a deep bass filled the club, the EDM making my pulse throb in my veins.
“Is this taking your mind off of it?” Yerin asked in my ear and I smiled widely at her, trying not to slip back into the thoughts of a few days ago.
I just didn’t want to think at all.
“I am thirsty! And drunk!” Taehyung yelled in his deep voice, slumping to the side into Doona and she rolled her eyes, grinning at our light weight friend as Jungkook went to lend a shoulder.
“Alright, I’ll get him some water.” I said, laughing as I went to the bar, asking for a tall glass of water.
The barman cast one look at Taehyung’s figure in our corner and grinned, sliding a glass of ice water to me and I turned, starting towards the group when a tall figure blocked my way.
I frowned immediately.
“Excuse me,” I said, looking up and immediately freezing, my hands matching the cold water’s temperature.
Sehun stared down at me with an unreadable expression on his face. I gaped at his appearance. He was dressed in his usual ‘I own the world’ style but his eyes were reddish as were his cheeks. He was obviously drunk. He looked so different from how put together he looked at school.
“Sehun,” I breathed, worriedly, glancing at my friends but they were too far away and wouldn’t hear anything over the music.
“You look so scared.” He said.
My eyes went back to him. He looked drunk but his words weren’t slurred. He probably was still mostly sober.
“I am not.” I said, trying to walk past him but he moved to the side, countering me.
“Sehun, I don’t want to talk to you.” I said.
“I could tell. I sent you texts, called you, emailed you, but you didn’t reply once. What, am I not good enough for you anymore?” he asked.
“I would say you thought I wouldn’t be good for you.” I hissed.
“That’s where you’re wrong, baby. I never said that. You were amazing. You were perfect before you changed.” He hissed.
“You changed too.” I retorted, watching his eyes flicker.
“I was dealing with things! I need you on my side, on my team! You left me.”
I scoffed, again trying to get away but his hand shot out, latching on my arm so tightly, I winced.
“You’re not going anywhere. You’re going to stay here and talk to me. You’re going to start by telling me who the other guy is. Is he here with you now?” he hissed.
I tried to shake his hand off. “Sehun, get off,” I said.
He sneered, tightening his grip instead. I nearly dropped the glass before placing it on a chair and gripping his hand, “Sehun, please,” I whispered.
“What is it? You don’t like me touching you anymore, baby?” he scoffed.
He was going to bruise me, I thought desperately, still trying to get his hand off. “You’re hurting me, Sehun.” I plead. His eyes didn’t soften. “You hurt me too, babe.” He said.
“Get your hand off her.”
For the second time in the night, I froze but this time Sehun did too, his eyes lifting from my almost crying ones to see who had spoken.
I closed my eyes. Just one night, I just wanted one night free from all this.
Yoongi walked, smoothly and confidently towards us, his eyes steely. I was surprised at his appearance again. His hair was dyed back to its natural black, deep and inky. He was in a full-fledged suit, black and form fitting. He looked as if he could stop the world with a snap of his fingers. He came to stand next to, his own hand closing around Sehun’s and yanking it off me.
I pulled my arm away, rubbing at it furiously as Yoongi slipped in front of me, barring Sehun from me.
“Min, stay out of this. I’m having a conversation with my girlfriend.” He said.
“Ex-girlfriend and it doesn’t seem that she wants to have a conversation with you. I suggest you back off and not lay your hands on her.” Yoongi replied easily.
“Look, you don’t know anything, ok? So whatever idea of misplaced loyalty you have to her, take it and leave.” He Sehun snarled. “You don’t know what she has been doing.” He said, his eyes finding me behind Yoongi.
“I honestly don’t care, Sehun, but if you think I am going to stand by and watch you manhandle her, you’ve got me all wrong.” He snapped.
“I wasn’t manhandling her. She was running off to some other guy!” he roared.
I flinched, looking around to see people were beginning to stare, even the barman but he wasn’t interfering. Naturally, he must know Yoongi was the son of the owners, he wouldn’t say anything.
This could turn bad. Sehun was drunk. What if he hit Yoongi?
“That’s her business.” Yoongi shrugged. His voice was tightening, I realized, catching on to the signs that even Yoongi, cool and calm Yoongi was beginning to lose his cool. I reached out, placing a hand on his arm, feeling the muscles tense and flex through the material of his suit jacket. He paused for a minute before relaxing under my touch.
“Yeah well, it’s mine too because the bitch was cheating on me. She fucked some slimy bastard behind my back. I can talk to her if I want because I didn’t do anything wrong and you can’t stop me, you don’t own this place.” he spat out running a hand through his hair.
Yoongi’s fist bunched and I tightened my hold on his arm. He had officially gotten mad. If he punched Sehun it would ruin his image. What if someone found out who he was?
Instead, Yoongi surprised me by chuckling, low and dark. “Actually, I can stop you, Sehun.” The way he said his name was a direct threat.
“You want to know why? Because I am the slimy bastard she slept with,” Yoongi’s voice had dropped several octaves, his tone so dangerous it made the hair on the back of my neck stand.
Sehun’s eyes widened, his jaw dropping, his body slumping as he stared at Yoongi. “Y-You?” he asked.
“Yes, Oh, me, as far as I am concerned, she left you the night of your birthday when you were a dick to her so she didn’t exactly cheat. Now, I would suggest you watch you language about her and keep your distance from us.” He said, backing slightly into me, his back pressing into my side.
“Y-you can’t possibly…you hate each other!” Sehun grunted.
“Maybe we do, but that is not your concern anymore. Just stay away from her.” Yoongi said and triumphantly turned, grabbing my hand as he led me off. I numbly followed, as people kept throwing us glances.
Yoongi led me to a back hallway, opening a utility door and letting us out into an alley.
Tumblr media
He shut the door with a loud clang as I wrapped my arms around myself, rubbing off any residual wetness around my eyes. I jumped when I felt his fingers gently wrap around the stinging spot on my arm where Sehun had gripped me.
I whirled out of his hold, backing up as he followed slowly, eyes, dark and intense on me. “Are you hurt?” he asked his voice still low and urgent.
“I am fine.” My voice came out squeaky and I cleared my throat quickly.
“Y/N,” he began but I shook my head. “I should head inside. The others would be waiting for me.” I said.
“You can’t go inside. He’s still inside. Just text them,” he waved a hand dismissively.
I frowned. Did he think he could boss me around after everything he said? I wanted to ask but I had more pressing questions.
“Why?” I asked.
“Why what?” he asked.
“Why would you stand up for me? You didn’t have to do that.” I said, folding my arms.
His face fell before contorting. “I didn’t have to do that? You’re joking, right? I am part of the reason why he was thrashing you about and he hurt you!” he said.
“Still,” I said.
He stopped, watching me carefully.
“You know why I did it, Y/N. You don’t have to ask.” He said.
“No, I don’t.” I shook my head.
He ignored that. “Did you hear the song?” he asked.
“What does it matter? I want to know why you did it!”
“I already told you!”
“No, you’re lying because you made it quite clear what you felt that morning!” I gritted. “You can’t take it back, not like that. You can’t just say something like that to Sehun and sing some songs and think everything is ok!” I said.
“So you did hear the song?”
I growled, wanting to smack the stupid smirk off his face and my fist closed but he caught it.
“Are you going to hit me again?” he tilted his head curiously.
I laughed bitterly. “Hit you? No, Yoongi, that would require me touch you and I don’t even want to look at you.” He said.
Yoongi looked pissed as he glared at me.
“You know, I didn’t write that entire song. I was filling in for you. You made the song. So, tell me, Y/N, how long have you had feelings for me?” he asked.
He smirked again, arms crossing as mine dropped as I gawked at him.
“It could’ve been for Sehun too.” I fought.
He snorted. “Doubtful, Y/N, I’m not an idiot. Tell me how long.”
“I don’t –,”
“How long?” he yelled, his loud voice echoing around the empty alley.
“Since I met you!” I shouted back, watching his jaw drop. “What?” he asked weakly.
“Ever since I saw you, you’ve been eating away at my mind. I thought I hated you but you fucking fascinated me. I thought it would be easy to hate you because you were an ass but then you turned out to be nice. You were being sweet and kind and funny and I just…let myself fall…but then I turned out to be right. You were an egocentric ass. I thought you felt the same. I thought you cared too but I guess not.” I said.
Yoongi was moving even before I was finished. Both hands came up to grab the sides of my face and he pulled me to him roughly, his lips closing on mine as he pushed me back against the wall, trapping me between the cold bricks and his warmth. He kissed me harshly and I kissed back with equal fervor, releasing pent up frustration and heart ache against his mouth.
I shoved him away finally, both of us gasping for breath as he tried to move in again but I held up my hands.
“You’re as bad as Sehun.” I panted.
“What the hell do you mean? I didn’t manhandle you!” he said.
“You broke my heart too.” I said softly and his eyes dropped.
“And I am sorry for it, but if would just listen to me,” he began.
“You don’t get it, Yoongi. You can’t make this up. There is nothing at all that you can say that would make it up.” I said.
“Let me finish. I just need you to listen to what happened. It was a misunderstanding.” He said.
His voice was edging towards desperation but I wasn’t going to let him do this to me.
“I can’t, Yoongi.” I moved to the side, towards the opening of the alley.
He moved with me. “Please, give me one chance to explain, Y/N. I’m not trying to make it up to you. I want us to start over completely.”
I looked down, trying to walk off again but his hand shot out, blocking my way as he pressed his palm to the wall. “I am not going to let you walk away again, Y/N.” he said, his voice stoic again.
I sighed. I just wanted this to be over. “Okay,” I said softly.

“Welcome to Shanghai.”
He could tell you were tired and he knew that the four am flight didn’t help with your exhaustion either, but there you were, dragging your feet in front of him, fighting through your exhaustion, “Did we have to take the earliest flight out of Seoul?” You sighed leaning against a pillar near the baggage claim belt.
“The earlier we got here, the earlier we could do all the things you want to do.” Sehun watched as Chanyeol wrapped his arms around you, his skin crawled watching the way you leaned into his touch, is it okay for him to hate him?
“What should we do first?” Pulling out your phone, you typed ‘what to do in Shanghai’ into the search engine and it pulled up a multitude of things, “There’s museums, gardens, the zoo, tons of places to shop and eat, all the parks—”
“Whatever you want to do, we can do.” Chanyeol was barely paying attention as he too was lost in his phone. Sehun caught the fall of your smile as you noticed Chanyeol’s distant answer.
“Why don’t we go to the zoo today?” He spoke up and you turned your gaze onto him, your smile appearing again.
“You want to?” Your question seemed silly to him since he’d dance like a fool in front of the busy Shanghai airport if you asked him to.
“Absolutely, it’s supposed to be warm today. We can go after we make it to the house and unpack.” Watching your face light up with excitement made his heart flutter in his rib cage, the fact that he made you smile after Chanyeol dismissed you gave him such a surge of energy.
“Ah! Our bags!” You broke out of Chanyeol’s loose hold on you to grab your bright red suitcase and Sehun grabbed his and Chanyeol’s matching black suitcases, “Do we have a taxi?”
“Our ride is sitting out front. How about you lead the way, Y/N?” Chanyeol slipped his phone into his pocket while he took the space next to Sehun; you nodded, tugging up the handle on your suitcase, beginning to lead the way. Sehun started to follow you when Chanyeol tugged on his shirt, wanting him to wait a moment.
“What is it?” He asked and Chanyeol pulled out his phone once more, he opened it to a screen with blue and grey messages and his thumb pointed to a certain one.
“The boss wants us to meet him tonight for our new job.” Sehun glanced your way before looking back at Chanyeol.
“But we just got here… and Y/N—”
“She’ll understand that it’s for work. She’s a big girl, she can handle herself.”
So he’s okay leaving her alone in a city she’s never been to?
Sehun’s thoughts thrashed around in his brain, the blood in his veins started to boil the longer he let his mind wander, but then your voice reached him, “Are you guys coming or not?” He turned his eyes back to you, the softness of your gaze helped to assuage his anger, reminding him that at the end of the day all that matters your safety.
Tumblr media
“Just this last time…” Sehun whispered to himself as he stood in front of full-size mirror pushing down the anxious tingles that filled him. Fixing his shirt, his hand brushed against something hard in the back of his pants, your voice ran loudly in his mind.
“What if they had firearms? You could be dealing with more than a broken nose and a fucked-up lip.”
He was making sure that if anything happened, he came back to you, safe. Turning on his heels, he grabbed his leather jacket and made his way out of his bedroom to the stairs that lead down to the main area. The quiet whisper of the tv filled the space around him as he approached the couch, he leaned over it, catching the sight of your peacefully sleeping face—the rise and fall of your chest, the slight pout of your lips, the wrinkling of your nose when you shifted in your slumber, your mascara coated lashes dusting your skin, your slightly furrowed brows—were you having a nightmare? Was Chanyeol the hero in your dreams?
“You ready?” Chanyeol hummed as he reached the bottom of the stairs, Sehun pulled his gaze away from you to look at Chanyeol who looked completely unphased that he was leaving you here alone in the middle of the night.
“Are you sure you just want to leave her here?” He took another glance at you, his heart sunk into the pit of his stomach the longer he stared at you, guilt ran deep in his veins.
“Don’t worry, she’ll be out all night. She was wearing herself thin when we were running around town today.” He walked around to the couch, crouching down to come face to face with you, “She won’t even know we’re gone.” Pressing his lips to your forehead, your brows relaxed with a slight hum, “You’ll be fine, won’t you, baby?” Sehun tore his eyes away from you, watching Chanyeol be affectionate with you annoyed him, he was short and dismissive with you all day and now you were ‘baby’ and he was showering you with affection; if you were his, he would always show you how much your worth.
“Alright… let’s go. Don’t want to keep him waiting.” He couldn’t make it out of the house fast enough, he just wanted to come back to you even though you weren’t waiting for him.
Tumblr media
Sehun and Chanyeol walked down the hall, the obsidian double doors at the end of the hall came closer with each step, with each step Sehun’s heart smashed against his rib cage. He’s been through this over a hundred times, but every time the boss called them in, his nerve to quit and walk out vanished into thin air.
Chanyeol reached for the gold handle and pulled the door open, Sehun’s eyes found three other bodies in the room as well as an older man, “My two favorite Mutts.” The low raspy voice sent chills through Sehun as he took his spot next to Chanyeol in the lineup of people, “Since everyone is here, let’s just get straight to the point, we have 12 companies that have still not paid their debt, so now we’re having to send in our reinforcements, that means you all.”
“12? That’s a larger number than usual…” Sehun looked down the line to see a guy with soft pink faded shaggy hair dressed in denim and leather; his face looked familiar like they’d run into each other before, but haven’t exactly met. The man next to him held a different air about him, short black hair, warm caramel skin, a heavy flat expression that would fit a war veteran; another familiar face, but one he wasn’t able to pinpoint. The last guy he knew, Kris, your older brother, he looked different than the last time that he saw him—thick grey dyed locks that rested messily around his fade, dark inky tattoos that peeked out of the neckline of his collared button-up—he seemed to be holding himself well, but seeing as the last time he saw him you three were in high school and Kris was leaving for China.
“Three in the northern part of the city, two in the south, four in the east, and three in the west. Baekhyun and Kyungsoo take the three west, Kris take the two south, which leaves Chanyeol and Sehun with the three in the north and four in the east. I expect all five of you to do your jobs swimmingly, with no snags or problems. I’ll send you the location of each one along with the amount of debt they are in.” The room fell silent as the older man stood from his seat behind his desk, “Understood?”
“Yes.” Sehun, as well as the others, hummed in agreement.
“Perfect. You’re all dismissed… everyone but Sehun.” Sehun’s heart dropped into the pit of his stomach upon hearing his name.
“Me…?” All the eyes in the room turned to him as he questioned him like it was baffling that he would choose him out of the group to speak to privately.
“Yes. Just you.” He motioned for the others to leave the room and Chanyeol clapped a hand to his shoulder.
“I’ll be waiting by the car.” Sehun nodded and waited until the door closed behind him to look back at the older man.
“What would you like to talk about, Sir?” He couldn’t help but be nervous in front of him, he controlled whether he was coming or going, or if he was leaving this room alive.
“How’s my daughter?”
“Y/N? She’s…” His thoughts of your sleeping face flooded his memory, “She’s okay, but… why ask me instead of Chanyeol? He’s her boyfriend, I’m just—”
“The guy who’s there for her when Chanyeol isn’t? I know he’s using her to just fill his time when he’s bored, but you…” He sat back down in his chair to pull open one of the desk drawers, “You actually care about my princess, so please keep her uninvolved in this mess.” He pulled out a thin black checkbook and quickly scratched a large number onto the paper before ripping it out and handing it to him, “Accept this as a token of my gratitude.”
“I couldn’t…”
“You’ve taken better care of her than have since she was a child. You deserve everything—”
“Sir really…” Sehun bowed while handing him back his check, “Money doesn’t change whether I take care of her or not, she’s special to me… so I don’t need extra money outside the payment for the completed jobs.” He kinked an eyebrow before taking the check from him, confusion clear in his expression, “I better get to the first job as get home before she wakes up. Thank you, Sir.” He bowed deeply before making his exit into the hall where Chanyeol was waiting for him.
“What’d he want to talk about?” He pushed his blond hair back, getting it out of his face as he popped up from the wall.
“Nothing really, he just wanted to talk about a previous transaction with a client he thought I knew.” He couldn’t let him know that your father favored him more than your actual boyfriend, but the giddy feeling that appeared made him more than happy—now he really wanted to go home just to see you.
Tumblr media
The outskirts of the city were drastically different than the inner city, the brightly lit streets started to fade to darker roads with poorly lit alleys the further they got out of the city. After multiple minutes spent searching for the building, Sehun finally noticed the rough exterior of a modernized structure that held the name of the company they were looking for, “Acedex Hotel? Is this, right?” Chanyeol asked getting out of the car and Sehun hummed in response as he slammed the car door closed.
“No casualties tonight, I plan to just get this done as cleanly as possible.” Less blood on his hands the better, going home for you to clean him up again isn’t what he wanted.
“No promises.” Chanyeol shrugged and made his way to the front of the building, his shadow appeared in lights flooding from the front door as they approached the glass entryway. He strolled inside like he owned the place while Sehun lagged behind him, they were a team—Chanyeol was the one to negotiate terms and Sehun was the fighter even though Chanyeol takes most of the beating.
“Welcome to Acedex, how can—” The man sitting at the desk laid his eyes on them, the color in his face drained immediately, “He’s already sending his Mutts to drain me of money?”
“Now, now, don’t act like we’re heartless human beings, Mr. Shang.” Chanyeol leaned up against the desk, rapping his fingers over the glass countertop, “All we’re here to do is collect the money that you owe our boss. He gave you six months to get your business up and running, and guess what—it's been six months.”
“I…” Sehun watched Shang’s eyes dart between every exit he had available, his sixth sense beginning to kick in as he took off down the hall on the other side of the desk.
“Don’t lose him!” Chanyeol yelled as he jumped over the desk, chasing after him. Sehun exited the building, taking a chance to where he could be headed; he rounded the corners of the building to come around to the back of it, as he reached the back door, it swung open in front of him and the man ran into him.
“Gotcha,” Sehun growled watching Shang’s face contort with anger.
“Fuck you!” He hissed, quickly throwing a punch to Sehun’s face. He stepped back to avoid the blow of his punch to deliver a jab to his throat causing Shang to fall to his knees, coughing and struggling for air, in front of him.
“Should’ve thought about not trying to attack me.” Sehun grabbed the back of his head and smashed his face into his knee as he brought it up; he watched as his limp body crumbled down onto the pavement when a sigh filled the air around them.
“You really had to knock him out?” Chanyeol huffed leaning against the doorframe.
“Easier to tote him back to the boss.”
“Touché…”
Tumblr media
“Please, please! I’ll give you the money, don’t make me see him!” Shang squirmed and yelled as Chanyeol and Sehun dragged him down the hall towards their boss’s office.
“You should’ve just given us the money upfront, but no, you just had to run didn’t you?” Chanyeol scoffed, rolling his eyes. Guards stood at the doors waiting for everyone’s arrival, “Are we the first ones back?”
“With an actual person, yes.” The guard opened the door and they entered the office once more, this time with their job in tow.
“Let me guess, he ran.” Your father asked while they released their hold on Shang, dropping him onto the floor.
“As soon as we mentioned money—”
“Hear me out, Sir… I-I can get you your money, but I don’t have it right now…” Shang continued to babble on after cutting Sehun off, with passing glances between Sehun and Chanyeol and your father, Sehun reached into the back of his pants, the cool metal of the gun welcomed his hold on the grip.
“I thought you said you had the money…” He hummed, pulling out the gun and pulling back the slide to load a bullet into the chamber. The chinking sound of the slide snapping back into place made Shang jump but made a smile appear on Sehun’s face.
“I will!”
“That’s not what you said before.” He pressed the muzzle up to the side of his head, “We need the payment today, if we don’t receive it, your brains will be splattered across the floor.”
“Give me a week, Sir, please!” Hearing Shang beg made your father chuckle.
“You think you deserve another week?” He leaned back in his chair, letting the thought roll around before sighing, “Sehun. Go ahead and—”
“I’ll give it to you right now! Please!” Shang screamed. Silence fell around the room as they watched Shang crawl up to the desk, “I’ll pay you right now, just please spare me…” Sehun followed Shang to the desk, keeping the muzzle flush to his head.
“Shang… I don’t think that we can keep you around—” Before your father could finish his sentence Sehun pulled the trigger, the ringing gunshot echoed through the room along with the splatter of blood and brain matter hitting the floor, “Eager to end him weren’t you, Sehun?”
“I’ve wanted to put a bullet in his head since we met him.” He wasn’t exactly lying, it annoyed him that he had to track him down anyway and the fact he tried to escape only annoyed him more, but the rush of pulling the trigger was more exciting than letting the man walk away.
“Chanyeol, get Kwang to come clean up this mess.”
“Yes, Sir.” Chanyeol left the room and your father pulled open his desk drawer and pulled out a bulging envelope.
“Your payment.” His voice was short as if he was disappointed that Sehun took Shang’s life, but that’s who he was in the heat of the moment.
“Thank you, Sir.” He grabbed the envelope and bowed, taking his departure from the room that was tainted with the heavy scent of iron. Walking down the hall, Chanyeol met him as Kwang walked past them, a small group of men followed in suit carrying a black bag, one big enough to fit a body.
“Is that our pay?” Chanyeol’s upbeat voice frustrated Sehun, how could he act so calm when he just watch him take the life of an innocent man?
“Yeah…” He handed him the envelope and he ripped into the package and began leafing through the money in his hands with nothing but a smile on his face.
“Job well done tonight.” Sehun grunted in response, his eyes caught the extent of his hand and he took the large sum of money from his grasp, “I thought you said no casualties though”
“You think I wanted to kill that man?” He hissed while he shoved his cut into his pocket.
“No, but you also didn’t hesitate.” He was right, the adrenaline racing through his veins let him know that it wasn’t a dream or a figment of his imagination, he actually killed another person without hesitation.
“I’m just ready to go home…” He pulled the car keys from his pocket to unlock the door when Chanyeol snatched the keys from hand.
“C’mon man, our first successful job in China? Let’s celebrate!” He looked Chanyeol up and down, his clothes free of Shang’s claret while his clothes were speckled with it.
“You can, but I’m going home.” He grabbed the keys from Chanyeol and yanked the car door open.
“What about me?”
“Take a cab.” He fell into the driver's seat and closed the door, his guilt already began to settle into him; he could feel his emotions start to numb over as he started the car, he needed to get home—needed to get to you.
Tumblr media
The one thing that separated him from his fears and his release was just past the mahogany door, just one key turn away, just one step past the threshold and you were there. He slid the key into the lock and turned it, the deadbolt clunked as it retreated, he slipped into the house, the darkness of the house worried him. He made a beeline to the living area to see the flickering light from the TV dancing across the floor as he approached the couch, but you weren’t on the couch where they left you, “Y/N?” He whispered, but you didn’t respond; he bolted up the stairs and checked in your room.
You weren’t there.
Checked his room.
You weren’t there either.
His heart thrashed around in his chest as he sped down the stairs and searched the entire main floor, where did you go? Did you finally get tired of them and leave? Did someone kidnap you?
He was about to call the cops when something caught his eye on the patio. You stood facing the artificial stars, a blanket hugged your body, but he could tell that it was you and nobody else. He pulled open the sliding door for you to turn around, revealing your tired expression, “Sehun…?” Your voice was enough to have him running to you; he wrapped his arms around your body and held you close to him, “Sehun? What’s wrong?”
For a moment he forgot…
Sehun pulled away from you to caress your cheeks, your confused gaze melted the numbness that had instilled itself into him. He leaned into you, forgetting that you weren’t his.

Growing Friendship (Sehun/Growth)
Warning: There is giant and tiny interactions within this story. If you are uncomfortable with this content feel free to blacklist some of the tags!
My phone was silent, had been for a moment too long. I fiddled with the simple piece of plastic and mechanical chips for the thousandth time waiting for another message from Sehun but it never came. I knew I shouldn‘t have been nervous, Sehun had the tendency to be fashionably late, and that didn‘t change with texting.
I couldn‘t fight the bundle of nerves that settled in my gut and unlocked my phone again scrolling through our chat history. The last message had been from me asking if he wanted me to bring anything more to the hangout, it had been left unanswered for thirty minutes and I had already begun my journey by foot to his place.
I pocketed the phone and wandered into his neighborhood. The crisp white houses stood in perfect lines on each side of the cracked black street, they framed Sehun’s house at the very end like his place was the epitome of cookie cutter glory. I smiled despite the heavy pit that settled in the bottom of my gut.
It really wasn‘t normal for him to ignore my texts for this long. His house seemed fine though, it seemed intact and his black and sleek car sat in the driveway untouched. Everything looked fine. So I made my way towards the building that was essentially my second home. The closer I came the more my body felt heavier and my stomach felt lighter in comparison. It was tingling, like I had just downed a bottle of coke and mentos. But I had done no such thing, in fact I had come over so we could meet up and eat out for lunch.
I paused at the edge of his yard and looked around, everything seemed normal. Nothing was out of place though the slim blades of grass were a little overgrown but that was typical. He wasn‘t exactly known for having a green thumb.
I breathed in letting the abandoned cool of morning sink into my lungs, and the heat of the coming afternoon feather itself out upon my exposed skin. I took one step into his yard and repeated till I was finally upon his clean and bare porch. I looked around still feeling that strange tingle prick my skin and trickle down my spine. Nothing was off.
My fingers reached up and curled against the white wood of his door. The sound resonated and nothing came back in return. My stomach sat heavy inside of me. I knocked again, this time calling his name out. Nothing.  “Sehun!” I shouted his name feeling my patience and nervousness twisting into a fragile anger. “This isn‘t funny! Answer the damn door!”
This time something responded. It wasn‘t his voice though, something shook the ground. It shook the house. It was the otherworldly sound of foundation splintering. My heart stopped in my chest, what the hell was that? I raised my fist, noticing only then the way it shook precariously. I hesitated. Unsure if knocking was safe if I knocked too hard what if the place fell apart entirely? I let my head shift, gaze scanning the neighborhood but everything else seemed fine. Nothing was wrong. But that shake couldn‘t have been my imagination.
Fear sat curdled in my gut, I felt ill with nerves. But that sickening crack set me entirely on edge-I didn‘t know whether I should run or burst in to make sure Sehun was ok and safe. His house shaking and creaking like that was not by any means normal. My hand still shook in its loose fist, the other rested by my side held in a tighter version of its twin. I squeezed my eyes shut, ignored the way my body screamed at me to run and knocked again.
This time a groan greeted me. It sounded like Sehun but it was off. It was off again. It sounded too large, too big. He didn‘t shout or scream, it was just inherently loud. I swallowed my trepidation and convinced myself he needed me that that groan was a cry for help even if it sounded wrong. I stepped back and braced myself, I silently encouraged myself that this was the right thing to do. I charged and slammed into the door with all my weight, it took a second go before the door finally opened and I went sprawling on the ground.
I could already feel the bruises beginning to form on my body from the impact. I groaned and closed my eyes for a moment. I let the swirling darkness sooth my nerves, I had already made it into his house now all I needed to do was find him and check on him. Before I could force my eyes open and do just that a surprised gasp caught my attention.
My eyes snapped open, and I tilted my head up to see where the sound had come from—what greeted me was something from nightmares. Sehun was staring at me, but he wasn’t normal. His body was too big, too large, it took up most of the hallway I now lay on the floor of. His limbs were bent awkwardly in an attempt to fit into the too small space, but the floor was sinking under his weight. The floor boards had splintered and cracked in half in a futile attempt to support his new found weight and size. The plastered walls were cracked and falling apart, the ceiling was sending spurts of choking white dust down upon the floor. His large brown eyes stared at me, his lips that were barely smaller than the length of my body were parted in shock at the sight of me.
Blood rushed from my face, it slammed into the heels of my feet. Tears sprung to my eyes immediately, fear slammed into me full throttle and flung me backwards away from him. My hands and body still in shock at what I was staring at struggled to find the edge of the hallway so I could escape this. My blood ran cold, all heat was sapped from my body when I realized the door had slammed shut behind my entrance. I was trapped.
I blinked countless times, hoping to erase what I was seeing—this had to be some cruel prank or a trick of the light. But no matter how many times I blinked he was still there, and too big. This wasn’t humanly possible, but he just stared back at me for a moment. My ears were ringing, my heart pounding, my body frozen. The tears that pricked the corners of my eyes slipped out and slid down my icy cheeks, dampening the loose fit of my t-shirt.
“Kristy, It’s—” he began, but I screamed instead. I cut him off. Terror came for my lungs, it squeezed the air from me so violently that I couldn‘t choke of the grating sound. He spoke. He spoke, and it was Sehun’s familiar deep tone. This was real.
He flinched back as though I was the scary one in this situation. I couldn’t fathom thinking I was scary given how huge he was right now. His lips twisted into a subtle frown and his eyes opened again when my voice had gone hoarse and shut off. He stared at me and I felt myself shrink further back, I could’ve sworn my spine had pressed through my skin and was now adhered to the wood of his front door.
“Kristy, I,” he paused as if trying to grasp onto something logical to say in this situation. But my eyes were focused on his lips and how every time he opened them to speak all I could picture was him forcing me past them. Sealing me to a dark and dank fate that ended in acidic damnation.
“I don’t know what happened,” he pauses. I still can’t believe this is him. My heart feels glued to my rib cage, my head feels light and my vision seems to swim. This can’t be real. This is a dream. As if to throw away suspicion his fingers twitch and come near me, I scream and push further back into the smooth wood of his front door. He immediately pulls back as though the sound was a jab to his heart.
“Kristy please, you fell hard,” I can’t fathom speaking right now. My voice is gone, trapped in my throat and locked inside my head. Even if I wanted to say something to him I couldn’t, my throat closed with a shaky swallow.
I squeezed my eyes shut and shook my head. This had to be a dream, not a dream, a nightmare. I had fallen asleep on my couch and just happened to be thinking of Sehun. My sick twisted mind was doing this, this wasn’t a reality-it was fake.
“Kristy,” he said my name again and more tears streaked down my face. I opened my eyes feeling wholly shaken. This wasn’t real. Yet the dark brown eyes I had known my whole life were staring right at me. That scar he had from when I pushed him a little too hard as children still adorned his cheek. This was Sehun. “Kristy please, I genuinely don‘t know what happened, and you fell hard just let me look at you.”
I shook my head in adamant protest. Despite this his fingers that were longer than me reached out, and I let out another shrill cry. He flinched back again, this time his eyes stayed shut longer. He pulled his hand back, knocking some loose plaster onto the ground-I watched for a moment as the dust upon it flew up in a white cloud before settling onto the newly disheveled ground. I heard his shaky inhale, my eyes snapped back to him.
His eyes were still closed, those long lashes fanned out over his cheeks. His lips curled in then let out, the bottom lip visibly shaking. A weird groan lashed out from the walls of the house and I realized it wasn’t the house-it was him. His whole body seemed to expand in that moment. The ceiling cracked, the veins from earlier expanding and spilling more choked dust upon the already wrecked hallway. One of the walls gave way crumbling upon his growing form, I sealed my lips, and closed my eyes hoping his sudden growth and expansion would stop before he got any closer to me.
It took a moment for the sound to calm and that‘s when I heard it-the beginnings of a sniffle. Then the withered breaths of someone on the brink of tears, a hissed in breath filled the space and I couldn’t keep my eyes closed any longer.
Once I opened them I saw the way he was coated in a thick layer of white, the way bits of his skin were beginning to bruise and swell. I saw the way he sat uncomfortably, scared to wreak more havoc. His bottom lip trembled and then a single fat tear rolled down his cheek and wavered on his chin before staining his jeans which seemed to have grown with him.
My heart clenched, and I suddenly felt a cool shame wash over me. What was I doing? Sehun was my childhood friend. My best buddy. We had gone through thick and thin together, I could remember when he stood up to my bullies after they had dubbed me an idiot for not being able to read super well. Sehun had always been by my side, even through real rough situations. Yet, here I was, screaming in terror as he went through an incredibly rough one. Instead of helping him like I should or comforting him-he was comforting me and I was screaming in fear.
He was in pain. In a confusing situation and I was being a massive dick. I swallowed hard, ignoring the chalky dust that seemed to now coat my insides and slowly forced myself onto shaky legs. He deserved to have a friend in this moment, no matter how large he was-I took a step forward and watched as his eyes peeled open. My little movement created a subtle creak, and he heard it.
My heart broke seeing the whites of his eyes lined in watery red. I felt horrid, absolutely horrid. He watched on, his lips parted in shock as I slowly made my way across the cramped and falling apart hallway to him. His large hands now rested awkwardly beside me, and instead of crawling into his lap I let my fingers stretch out, albeit shakily, and touch the palm of his hand. I felt something slither inside me at the contact. I had to reassure myself that this was Sehun. He wouldn’t hurt me. I moved closer, feeling incomprehensibly small as I could see the lines and crevices in his palm too clearly now. His skin was rough and startingly warm.
I pushed closer, letting my whole body touch to his hand. I let my miniscule fingers squeeze the skin gently, hoping he could feel the small action. I attempted to give him some sort of affection at my size and he seemed to eat it up with a cautious happiness. No more tears fell, his features were frozen stiff except for the corners of his massive lips were beginning to turn up.
“I’m,” I spoke the word feeling as though it wasn’t even my voice. “I‘m sorry.”  It took a moment, his fingers then twitched and I couldn‘t control my reaction. My whole body tensed, my eyes snapped shut quickly and before I could react and apologize for it he let his hand relax.
“I-it’s ok,” he whispered the words as best he could. “I know it’s scary…I don’t even know how to react to it.”
I inhaled slowly and turned my head to look up at him, making sure my body was pressed against his palm to show trust and support. “How did this even happen?”
His body shifted in an attempt to shrug, “I don’t know. I woke up feeling a little ill then I just began to grow. It keeps happening in random spurts but I can feel it.” His eyes squeezed shut again, and I braced myself for another—knowing this one would be far more destructive than the last. This place couldn’t hold him for long. But nothing happened. He let out a labored breath.
“What do you mean you can feel it?
He tries to shrug again. " Like I am holding back right now and when I can’t I grow but I can pull it back in again to stop it.” The words were chopped and broken, punctuated once more by harsh breaths. He was struggling to hold on to it. He had no clue how big he would get if he just let go, the thought sent my stomach plummeting through the floor.
Oh god…how big would he get?
I didn‘t want to think about it, but it was also clear that holding back was hard and being trapped in this small space was painful. I closed my eyes, settling on a decision. Settling on something I may regret but felt was also necessary. I had to sit on it for a moment, think about how gentle he was being right now with me. Think about all the times he showed kindness to those smaller than him whether it be animals or people. He wasn’t a cruel person, and I had to believe that no matter how big he got he would never hurt someone. He would never hurt me.
I let out a breath and looked up at him, looked right into those giant chocolate orbs and whispered firmly, “Let go.”
It took a moment for my words to process. He stared at me for a second, eyes blown wide and lips parted in shock. His large fingers wrapped gently around me and I let him hold me. The warmth he exuded was actually comforting. He pulled me in close to his hunched over and bent chest, I could hear the way his heart erratically beat into his chest and then something in his tense body shifted. I closed my eyes and felt it all change.
