anyhoo, couple more fun Birb questions
1) do they have a favorite type of bird? (PS remind me to tell you which birds I think the friend group would compare them to)
2) what do they consider their greatest achievement? do they have both a serious answer and a joking one? do you think their friends would have a different answer?
3) how would they want to be remembered? not just, like, if they died, but what sort of impact they want on the people they won't see again?
4) if they could go back in time and prevent Nicky's accident, but doing so would prevent them from meeting/befriending most of the friend group (anyone who hadn't already met her at that point), would they do it?
5) okay actual fun question again: what snacks would they get at/bring to a movie theatre? would they share with friends or demand everyone get their own? have they ever been kicked out of a theatre for any reason?
6) if they went to an arcade, what type of game do you think they'd be best at?

Birb's absolute favourite bird is the American Woodcock. They love how it does it's funky little dance (hey, this is your reminder 🔫)
Putting up with Yoko as long as they have. But seriously, at this point in the story? Still managing to graduate high school even with everything going on. It seems like a small achievement to most, but to them? It was a struggle the whole way through. And honestly, their friends answer? Greatest achievement is them still being alive after everything

Okay, so every single snack they eat at a theatre? They smuggled it in. They bring a soda or two and whatever candies they can find before going in (usually the disgusting trash candies). The only thing they get at a theatre is popcorn. And they do not share, unless it's with Wednesday. They were kicked out once for throwing things across the theatre; they were pelting Ajax with popcorn the entire movie
This bitch is a pro at Dig Dug and Asteroids. There's no explanation, but they have the high-score on both games at a small arcade back at home

not even through my first week of work:
rained out monday and rained out half-day on wednesday
long conversation about the last-minute goutweed director told us to spray and if the beds were ALL goutweed or if only the ones with flowering heads were goutweed. I said it all looked like goutweed (it was goutweed)
coyote chasing deer flock in idyllic prairie-adjacent verdant slope
coyote with mange trotting miserably around a parking lot
saw snake!
other guy almost stepped on a woodcock nest (bird exploded in his face)
found bone!
wild goose chase through wetland reeds for phragmites that took us through pollinating cattails and our manager fell into a wet hole and succumbed to a horrible cattail pollen allergy and I had to flush out his eyes with a jug while the director tried to figure out where to send us next because we’re already a day in a half behind on hours
we found like, twenty phragmites between us
director sent us to calumet to spray for woody reprouts with a depleted crew there, but I’ve never been to calumet area and I got stuck behind two trains and my maps dumped me into a graveled trainyard construction area half a mile behind the preserve’s parking lot
a dozen old guys whose main thing I guess is to drive to preserve parking lots and either stand outside or stay inside their cars to smoke
hit on head with thrown football
got another crew member into Throbbing Gristle
another crew member accidentally killed a snake that crawled into his boot :(
