They didn't tell you growing up as a child on the internet that, in real time, you would get to watch friends become radicalized and earnestly believe the most insane, idiotic, and extremist takes you could imagine, rendering them indistinguishable from the other nuts online who lurk around fringe internet spaces.
#sadly......i'm not shocked by this#i've seen people and former friends get radicalized way before i was ever active on the internet#it's the depressing reality we live in: people can be radicalized and become extremists in the right (or wrong) circumstances#radicalization#social issues
