Why are there so many mlp infection aus?

can someone please explain to me why my little pony has so many infection aus??? I haven't even watched the show in years but I'll just randomly get stuff about new infection aus recommend and I've never seen so many in any other fandom, even ones for things that have plagues or outbreaks in canon.

I get that the show has had a huge impact and that it's a kids show and people for some reason like messing with those but why is it seemingly exclusive? I've never seen one for shows like gravity falls, which was also a hugely impactful kids show with a dedicated fan base, or warrior cats that's also hugely popular with kids and the characters are animals(tho I've never actively sought out warrior cats content and I haven't read it I tend to get a lot of stuff recommended for it, so maybe it does have some, but if so then they have yet to break out of the warrior cats bubble).

Why my little pony? Why don't people make them for shows that would have more unique or untapped possibilities to explore? This isn't meant to be rude or put MLP infection aus down I'm just curious

PLEASE I want more characters who come across as cold and jaded at first, they don't want to be cruel but it's the only thing they know, meeting characters who know of the harsh realities of the world and have seen/experienced them first hand but still choose kindness and compassion even if they know it's in vain, and watch as they bond and slowly the kind one begins tearing down the jaded ones walls and helping them see the world in all of its beauty and potential all the way until something horrific happens and the kind character loses that spark that drove them and either resigns to their fate or can't ever look at anyone or anything the same and the cold character has to help try to rekindle their flame and show them how meaningful they are and-

Sometimes I forget how weird the entirety of Ouran is. Like what kind of school let's a gang of teenagers take over the abandoned music room to start a club that's only goal is seducing women???
