Warriors Orochi: The Recollective Redux Part 6.2: Orochi Story B
Chapter 9: Battle of Dingtao 定陶の戦い (uses DW8XL map)
Orochi Army vs. Wu Army Allied characters: Sima Yi, Sima Shi, Sima Zhao, Deng Ai, Zhong Hui, Wang Yuanji Enemy characters: Sun Quan, Sun Shangxiang, Lu Meng, Lu Su, Lu Xun, Xiaoqiao, Zhu Ran, Taishi Ci, Huang Gai, Ding Feng, Zhou Tai, Lianshi
Unlocked characters: Sun Quan, Sun Shangxiang, Zhou Tai, Lianshi
Upon hearing that the Orochi Army would attack Hefei, Sun Quan escaped Wu with a number of officers and made camp in Dingtao. However, they were confronted by Sima Yi, who had forseen this and asked Orochi to allow him to deal with them.
Beginning from the southeast, Sima Yi leads his army towards Dingtao Castle with the intention of occupying Dingtao, Juye and Linqiu (廩丘, aka Lu Bu’s main camp in DW8XL) Castles. As they approach Dingtao Castle, Zhu Ran will attack the Orochi Army with firearrows; his defeat will allow the Orochi Army to continue advancing.
Taishi Ci, Huang Gai and Xiaoqiao will be defending the three castles. Sima Yi will suspect something amiss with the Wu Army; there are three fire attack units that the player needs to defeat in order to foil Lu Xun’s strategy. Lu Meng is on the path that is adjacent to the centre path out of Dingtao (turn left and then turn right just as you enter the corridor to Linqiu), Lu Su is on the path behind Linqiu Castle, and Ding Feng is on the path behind Juye Castle. Occupying all three castles before defeating the respective fire attack units will cause them to be set on fire.
In any case, Sima Yi’s army will continue north towards the Wu main camp, but as they approach the exit doors, the area is set on fire as ambush units appear and attack them; Lu Xun had anticipated this and focused his efforts on this attack using the fire attacks on the three castles as a feint. Defeat Lu Meng, Lu Su and Ding Feng (again) to continue.
Lu Xun will unleash a rockslide as you head up the northern path. Defeat him to stop the rockslide.
Sun Shangxiang and Lianshi will be the final obstacles to the main camp before you confront Sun Quan and Zhou Tai. Defeat Sun Quan to win the battle.
Sun Quan and Sun Shangxiang are informed of their father and brother’s surrender at Hefei, leaving them with no choice but to surrender to the Orochi Army.

Masamune Date is sent to quell one of those resistance armies, facing off against the Chōsokabe and Mōri clans in Hiketa, supported by the Saika Renegades.
The Orochi Army arrives on two ships from the east and northeast. The enemy officers will begin advancing from the northwest and from Sogō and Hiketa Castles. As you defeat the enemy officers, they will reappear after a little while and even worse, some allied officers will be entranced by some sort of spell. Kojurō works out what is happening and decides to put a plan into action. Assist him as he heads to the northwestern garrison, where he will act entranced in order to lure Koshōshō into opening the gates. Defeat Koshōshō, allowing your allies to return to normal and the enemy officers to be defeated.
Noticing the front gates to Toramaru Castle not opening, Kojurō suggests that they ambush the castle from behind. As the Orochi Army heads into the western garrison to fight the Mōri officer there, Okuni and Goemon appear to reinforce the garrison before retreating upon their defeats.
Upon entering Toramaru Castle, Motochika and Motonari along with Gracia and Takakage have disappeared; as their officers attack them, Motochika and Motonari appear on the Orochi Army’s ships in an attempt to attack them from behind. Hisahide orders his troops to detonate the explosives on the ships which will slow their advance. At the same time, Sun Wukong arrives with reinforcements on a ship in the southeast and Okuni and Goemon will appear again in Hiketa Castle. Defeat Motochika and Motonari to win the battle.
Motochika, Okuni and Goemon manage to escape. Motonari concedes his loss and peacefully surrenders to the Orochi Army in the hopes of maintaining the stability of the Mōri while also hoping to meet all the different heroes of China and Japan.

With the Chōsokabe-Mōri resistance quashed by the Orochi Army, the only remaining pocket of resistance in Western Japan was the Shimazu and Tachibana along with remanants of the Toyotomi Army led by Mitsunari Ishida. Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi and Lu Su are sent to deal with them.
The Orochi Army splits into three groups to attack the Toyotomi Army at Yanagawa. The Shu forces head to attack the Tachibana forces in the northwest, the Jin forces attack the Shimazu forces in the northeast, and the Wu forces attack the Toyotomi forces in the southeast. However, they are met with resistance from the three armies, requiring Zhuge Liang to formulate a pincer attack strategy.
The key to Zhuge Liang’s strategy is to occupy the Sakemi and Yadome garrisons in the north and east. Though the Yadome Garrison is easily occupied, they are unable to access the northern area as the gates are tightly shut. Sima Yi sends out rams to break down the two gates to the northern area, allowing the Orochi Army to attack the Sakemi Garrison.
Musashi Miyamoto and Kojirō Sasaki appear from the western stronghold near the Orochi Army main camp, having heard the commotion during their duel, and will charge at the main camp. Upon their defeats, Musashi will escape while Kojirō will defect to the Orochi Army, entranced by the deaths brought about by them.
With the Sakemi and Yadome garrisons occupied, the Orochi Army defeat the Shimazu and Tachibana armies. Mitsunari is unwilling to open the gates to his main camp, leading to Lu Su setting his camp on fire in order to drive him out. It is then that Sakon appears from the southwestern stronghold with reinforcements. Defeat Mitsunari and Sakon to win the battle.
Though the majority of the Toyotomi Army escape the battle, Mitsunari and Yoshitsugu are captured and forced to serve Orochi.

Once the key positions are occupied and the cannons begin firing, the battle continues as normal.
After the sorcerers in the Stone Sentinel Maze are defeated and Cao Cao appears at his main camp with ambush troops, Cao Pi will arrive with reinforcements. Defeat Cao Cao and Cao Pi to win the battle.
In the end, a crying Dian Wei takes his “deceased” lord away from the battlefield. Cao Pi, who was captured in the battle, surrenders Wei to the Orochi Army despite numerous Wei officers managing to escape capture.

Each of the garrisons around the battlefield, along with ambush units and reinforcement groups, will have at least three officers. Katsuie Shibata will be in the southeastern garrison, Toshiie Maeda is in the central garrison, and Nagamasa Azai and Oichi will appear alongside the Asakura in the north and northwest.
During the strategy where the player guides the sorcerers to the storehouse, the sorcerers’ tendency to attack every enemy that gets near them is removed, though the Oda ambush units will be stronger to counter it.
Chapter 15: Siege of Chang’an 長安の戦い (uses DW8 map)

Throughout Orochi’s conquest of the land, various forces have either fallen into Orochi’s army or suffed annihilation. Larger kingdoms had enough strength to fight Orochi’s army, but smaller kingdoms couldn’t and so, they formed alliances with other kingdoms.
At the Battle of Edo Castle, an officer was absent from the Tokugawa Army – Tadakatsu Honda. Tadakatsu had been sent to survey the terrain of the land, but when the Orochi Army invaded, his army went into hiding. He eventually arrived at Edo Castle, but he was too late – it had already been occupied by the Orochi Army. Believing his lord to have died, Tadakatsu sets out on his conquest to defeat the Orochi Army at all costs. He makes refuge in Chang’an, a gateway between the worlds of China and Japan and sends a call to arms to anyone who has been displaced by the Orochi Army. Hearing of this, Orochi sends out Dong Zhuo and some others to test Tadakatsu’s strength.
Starting at Mingguang Palace in the northeast, the Orochi Army attacks in two directions. However, Ma Chao and the Xiliang Cavalry are barricading them in the north while Kunoichi and Nene launch a pincer attack in the square outside Changle Palace. Motonari suggests that they occupy the armory in the east and release the pyrocannons. Once the armory is occupied, Jia Xu suggests that they occupy Gui Palace and launch a pincer attack on the Xiliang Cavalry. Defeat Yuan Shao in Gui Palace, then defeat Ma Chao and his forces.
Lu Xun and Zhu Ran appear in the corridors around Gui Palace and set fire to it and Mingguang Palace. At the same time, remnant Wei and Hōjō forces arrive as reinforcements. Defeat Lu Xun and Zhu Ran to extinguish the flames, then defeat Yoshimoto Imagawa and conquer Weiyang Palace.
Tadakatsu Honda will be the final enemy in the southern garrison outside the rear doors of Weiyang Palace. When he is defeated, Tadakatsu will comment to the Orochi Army that they will meet again before he escapes.

Da Ji and Dong Zhuo arrive at the northwest of the battlefield. One of Da Ji’s soldiers spots a girl with mystical powers trapped in the southwestern garrison while Dong Zhuo’s soldiers find a floodgate to the northeast, which they can use to decimate Lu Bu’s forces.
Da Ji and Dong Zhuo set about their tasks. Da Ji heads to the southwestern garrison is isolated by Zhang Lu sealing the gates to the garrison. Zhang Lu knew that Da Ji was a sorcerer and he used the girl as bait due to her magical powers. Because Zhang Lu neutralised the girl’s powers, she has been weakened, unable to use her powers to save herself. Zhang Lu sends in phantom soldiers and sorcerers to attack Da Ji and the girl, who introduces herself as Himiko. Assist Da Ji by opening the gates into the garrison (if outside) and defeating the sorcerers which will make the phantom soldiers disappear. Zhang Lu will appear with his own troops to attack Da Ji. Defeat him to recover Himiko’s powers.
Dong Zhuo heads east and heads past the north side of the castle to the floodgates. Chen Gong would know that Dong Zhuo would head for the floodgates, so ambush units led by Yuan Shu and Gongsun Zan will attack him. Defeat the ambush units to open the floodgates and flood Xiapi Castle.
With the castle flooded, Dong Zhuo will send out bridgelayers and siege ramps to allow the Orochi Army to enter the castle. Da Ji suggests to Dong Zhuo that they set parts of the castle (the armory and supply depot) on fire. Himiko teleports into Xiapi Castle and engages Lu Bu’s forces while Dong Zhuo’s officers head to execute the fire attacks.

Lu Bu is angered at the prospect of being captured by Dong Zhuo, to which Dong Zhuo says that he won’t kill him if he joins the Orochi Army. Chen Gong sets the fire while Jia Xu clears the western path to the northern garrison to allow access.

Chapter 6: Battle of Jiange 剣閣の戦い (uses DW8 Hanzhong map)

Unlocked characters: Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Liu Shan, Kiyomori Taira
Just as Zhuge Liang predicted before, the remaining Shu officers are forming a stand against Orochi in Jiange. Liu Shan and Jiang Wei are at the northeast with the more veteran officers while the younger officers are stationed at their main camp beneath the mountaintop (where Mt. Dingjun is in DW8). Da Ji and Zhuge Liang set up camp in the southwestern garrison within the forest caves. Receiving report that the Orochi Army have set up camp, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei charge towards the Shu camp to attack Zhuge Liang and Da Ji, hoping to have their brother Liu Bei freed from capture. They are defeated and they retreat soon after.
Upon reaching the southern garrison, Orochi Army scouts have found a mysterious grave on the mountaintop (Mt. Tiandang in DW8). At the same time, Pang Tong and Xu Shu begin their plan by sending wave after wave of officers to attack the Orochi Army. Zhuge Liang implements stage one of his plan by having Diaochan and Lu Lingqi lure the enemy frontline to the centre and setting a fire attack, lowering the Shu forces’ morale. Pang Tong and Xu Shu fall back to work out what Zhuge Liang could be planning next.
Zhuge Liang prepares the second part of the plan in preparation of a pincer attack on Liu Shan and Jiang Wei. He sends Himiko, Diaochan and Lu Lingqi to wait in the east while he goes with Da Ji and Guan Xing to the mountaintop. Dodomeki will defend the southern garrison in their absence. Jiang Wei predicted Zhuge Liang’s plan and he sends out units to counterattack.
Pang Tong reappears on the mountain with reinforcements from the Nanman (not Meng Huo however). Xu Shu also reappears to the east, suspecting that Zhuge Liang is trying to ambush their main camp. He attacks Diaochan and Lu Lingqi, but Xu Shu is defeated and he retreats for a second time. Back to the west, Da Ji, Zhuge Liang and the others defeat Wei Yan and Xingcai on their way to the summit. Wei Yan and Xingcai retreat to the northeast and the main camp respectively. Xingcai warns Guan Ping and the others at the camp to strengthen their defences for Zhuge Liang’s assault. Zhuge Liang defeats Pang Tong and the Nanman reinforcements, claiming the mountaintop for the Orochi Army. Pang Tong retreats again.
On the mountaintop, Da Ji discovers the grave of Kiyomori Taira, who was said to have died somewhere else in a duel (against Yoshitsune Minamoto). Magically digging up his body, Da Ji wonders what it would be like if Kiyomori could rampage against the Shu Army. Da Ji and Himiko resurrect Kiyomori into a half-human, half-demon after Kiyomori agrees to sell his soul to the Orochi Army.
Once Kiyomori is resurrected, he charges down into the Shu main camp and unleashes his newfound demonic power against the young Shu officers. Zhuge Liang, Da Ji and the others follow Kiyomori into the battlefield. The entire Shu Army goes into a panic, with masses of Shu soldiers fleeing the battlefield. Jiang Wei gathers the rest of the Shu Army and charges towards their main camp.
Himiko, Diaochan and Lu Lingqi set fire to the Shu main camp and ambush it. Guan Yu and Zhang Fei reappear again to tell Liu Shan to escape. Pang Tong and Xu Shu assist him, taking a break mid-way.
Back on Mt. Dingjun, the Orochi Army with the help of Kiyomori eliminate the majority of the Shu Army, with many officers captured. Zhuge Liang heads to where Guan Yu and Zhang Fei are fighting and announces to them that their children have been captured and will be spared, along with Liu Bei, if they immediately surrender.
Following Guan Yu and Zhang Fei’s surrender, Jiang Wei joins Liu Shan and the others in his escape. Zhuge Liang chases them to the escape point (east of the southern garrison) and after being intercepted by Orochi Army officers, Liu Shan and the others put up a fight before Liu Shan is captured.
In the aftermath, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong, Guan Ping, Xingcai, Ma Dai, Wei Yan, Guan Yinping, Jiang Wei, Pang Tong and Xu Shu have evaded capture. Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Shan are forced to work in Orochi’s army.

Knowing of the danger the Orochi Army would pose against Wei, Sima Yi decided to engage them by gathering his army in Shangyong. In response, Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu set to the battlefield with Kiyomori Taira.
Starting from the northeast, the Orochi Army are ordered to occupy Shangyong Castle. On the way, Kiyomori spots a mysterious boulder (at the northmost part of the battlefield) where Sun Wukong is squashed under it, having been put there by the Mystics for failing to prevent Orochi’s release. Kiyomori offers him freedom in exchange for servitude under his wing; Wukong accepts and Kiyomori frees him as they continue to Shangyong Castle.
After defeating Xiahou Ba and Guo Huai, Shangyong Castle is set on fire and ambush units attack from the path leading to the northwest. Once the ambush units are defeated, Kiyomori will send sorcerers through the northwest path to unleash poison gas on Sima Zhao’s camp while Chen Gong and Jia Xu hold the Jin Army back. Defend the sorcerers as they head to the strategic point, then once the poison gas is unleashed, defeat Sima Zhao and his army.
Sun Wukong will then summon clones of himself in Sima Yi and Sima Shi’s camps, forcing them to advance their armies to Shangyong Castle, with Xiahou Ba and Guo Huai reappearing as well. Defeat Sima Yi and Sima Shi to win the battle.
In the aftermath, Sima Yi happily surrenders to the Orochi Army, claiming that his intellect can surpass anyone else’s in the land. Sima Shi happily follows his father while Sima Zhao is uneasy about his father’s decision, a foreshadowing for the Jin stories.

Ding Feng and Lu Su are replaced by other generic officers.

A lady tried to enter my car today. OK, not really, but this is going to highlight an issue.
I was driving with my mum and I got to the end of the street when the lady was standing around near the bus stop. While I was looking for cars on the right before turning left, I heard the passenger side window open; my mum had opened it because the lady approached the car.
The lady asked us if we could take her to the shopping centre because she missed the last bus and the next one was an hour away. I declined and went on, having known the dangers of picking up hitchhikers and also I wasn't headed to the shopping centre anyway (until later). As I drove, I thought that I could have suggested that she walk about 3-4 stops up the road, or hell, just walk to the shopping centre anyway since by research, it would be faster than waiting for the next bus, but the road was fairly hilly and it might have been a bit ableist to suggest such a thing to a middle-aged lady.
Ironically, last week, a lady in my area was carjacked by a guy and forced to drive around buying MacBooks while he held her child hostage. With the resurgence of crime being reported in the news in Victoria (youth crime and violence against women among the prominent categories, another reason why I think Dictator Dan being reelected in 2022 was mostly because of pandemic Stockholm/Melbourne Syndrome), my suggestion to drivers is to keep your doors locked when you're in your car. If you're in a situation like with the lady who missed her bus, then I hope you know what you can do or who you can call otherwise you're screwed and I'll be damned if I'm letting a stranger in my fucking car. I'm not an Uber, goddamn it.
The main issue I wanted to highlight here is something that people have complained already, namely the lack of adequate public transport services on weekends. Most bus routes run services every hour on weekends, with the orbital SmartBus routes running every half hour. The bus timetables in my area haven't changed since 2012 and the routes even longer than that. Someone on Blogspot has written a series on Building Melbourne's Useful Network, suggesting changes to routes in the hopes of getting them to run every 20 minutes. Overhauling the bus system is going to take time, but I hope to see small things happening sooner rather than later.

A mysterious man will arrive to assist Zhang Jiao. If Sakon reaches the man, he will only introduce himself as a friend. Defeat Dong Zhuo to win the battle.
In the aftermath, Zhang Jiao will thank Sakon for his “miracle from the heavens”. Sakon asks Zhang Jiao if he knows the mysterious man, but Zhang Jiao does not.
Sakon will comment that they are heavily outnumbered compared to the other armies in the land. Officers such as Musashi Miyamoto, Toyohisa Shimazu, Yoshihiro Shimazu, Xu Huang, Kanbei Kuroda, Huang Zhong, Guan Ping and Muneshige Tachibana will join him.
Chapter 10: Battle of Ji Province 冀州の戦い (uses DW5 Yellow Turban map)
Coalition Army vs. Da Ji Army Allied characters: Xu Huang, Musashi Miyamoto, Muneshige Tachibana, Zhang Jiao Enemy characters: Da Ji, Himiko, Kojirō Sasaki, Hisahide Matsunaga
Unlocked characters: Yukimura Sanada, Shingen Takeda, Kojirō Sasaki
Dong Zhuo and his army were left with no choice but to retreat. As Sakon went to visit Shingen, he wondered if the mysterious man from the last battle was driving him towards something.
Sakon comments that they need the assistance of Shingen, Kenshin and Nobunaga to defeat Orochi. He decides to start by talking with Shingen. In the meantime, Xu Huang and Musashi are attacked while they are training. They find Da Ji, along with a mysterious girl…
After defeating Kojirō Sasaki at the eastern altar, enemy ambush troops will appear at the central altar or in the southeastern area depending on where you go. Hisahide Matsunaga will appear in the opposite area as reinforcements.
When Himiko arrives in the south, Muneshige Tachibana will appear in place of Gao Sheng to stop her, but she will escape to the west as enemy reinforcements arrive to assist her (instead of later on in the original). As Himiko arrives in the west, however, Zhang Jiao will appear in place of He Yi to stop her. Defeat Da Ji and Himiko to win the battle.
In the aftermath, Kojirō will join Musashi and Xu Huang. Meanwhile, Sakon meets with Shingen, who agrees to lend assistance to him.
Chapter 11: Rescue at Hasedō 長谷堂救出戦

Kojirō Sasaki will appear in place of Zhang Jiao in this battle.
When Sakon reaches Kanetsugu in the flaming forest, the mysterious man from Luosang Village will arrive to reveal that the fire is an illusion. He reveals the position of the sorcerers causing it. Defeat them to extinguish the fire. The man will introduce himself as Fu Xi. He also states that Sun Wukong is also from the mystic realm like himself, working for a half-man, half-demon, Kiyomori Taira, to recruit troops for his army. Their plan is to revive Orochi.
Break through the northern gate out of the forest and defeat Sun Wukong to win the battle.
In the aftermath, Kanetsugu takes Sakon to Kenshin. He agrees to join Sakon along with the others. Fu Xi also complements Sakon for uniting the Takeda and Uesugi, saying that he is the one who can stop Orochi’s resurrection. He also joins Sakon as atonement for “testing” him.
Chapter 12: Battle of Changban 長坂の戦い

Sakon suggests having Masamune join his army along with Nobunaga. However, Kanetsugu believes that Masamune is still loyal to Orochi. Sakon decides to have Shingen set off for Changban in order to convince Masamune to join them.
Motonari Mōri will appear in place of Sima Yi in this battle and therefore, will not be unlocked when the battle is cleared in this version. Takakage Kobayakawa will appear in place of Dōkyū Yamagami in the ambush unit alongside Kojūrō Katakura.
In the aftermath, Shingen talks to Masamune, but he declines the offer, saying that no one has been able to keep the peace since Orochi’s death. Shingen gives the bad news to Sakon, who then remembers that there is someone that they can ask. Kanetsugu reports that Lu Bu and Kiyomori have joined forces and are laying waste to the men of Wu. Huang Zhong, Yoshihiro and Kanbei offer to assist them.
Chapter 13: Battle of Liang Province 涼州の戦い
Coalition Army and Lu Meng Army vs. Lu Bu Army Allied characters: Kanbei Kuroda, Yoshihiro Shimazu, Huang Zhong Third-party characters: Lu Meng, Gan Ning Enemy characters: Lu Bu, Sun Wukong, Diaochan, Chen Gong, Lu Lingqi
Unlocked characters: Lu Meng, Gan Ning
Lu Bu and Kiyomori had joined forces to attack Liang Province, which was being defended by the warriors of Wu. Kanbei set off to Liang Province along with two veteran warriors to save the Wu Army, for if they were rescued, their assistance could be procured.
Kanbei Kuroda appears in place of Sima Yi for this battle. Han Dang will be replaced by another Wu generic officer when reinforcements arrive.
Lu Lingqi and Hou Cheng will appear with Chen Gong’s reinforcements when they arrive.
In the aftermath, Lu Meng and Gan Ning will join Sakon’s army on behalf of Wu.
Chapter 14: Battle of Hulao Gate 虎牢関の戦い

Unlocked characters: Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Nene, Mitsunari Ishida, Hanbei Takenaka, Kiyomasa Katō, Masanori Fukushima
Sakon moved to the next phase of his plan. He set off with Guan Ping and Toyohisa Shimazu to gain the cooperation of Hideyoshi Toyotomi. They spot Kiyomori and Dong Zhuo up ahead at Hulao Gate.
As I stated previously, Nobunaga Oda originally appeared in both the Wei and Samurai Warriors stories for Part B, which is illogical and it robs Mitsunari Ishida of any relevance; in addition, it also robs Hideyoshi Toyotomi of prominence as he was only seen in the original games as an underling of Nobunaga. As such, Nobunaga and Nō only appear in the Wei story, leaving Hideyoshi and Mitsunari for the Samurai Warriors story.
Zhang Ren does not appear in this battle. Toyohisa Shimazu and Yoshihisa Shimazu will swap places in this battle, meaning the former will be defending the main camp alongside Guan Ping while the latter advances with Sakon.
The Hōjō officers among the enemy are replaced by Mōri officers and Hisahide Matsunaga will appear in place of Dong Zhuo.
When the Toyotomi Army arrives, Mitsunari Ishida, Masanori Fukushima and Kiyomasa Katō will appear alongside Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Nene and Hanbei Takenaka.
In the aftermath, Hideyoshi joins Sakon’s army. Sakon asks him to assist Mitsunari and Kenshin at Baidi Castle.
Chapter 15: Battle of Baidi Castle 白帝城の戦い
Coalition Army vs. Taira Army Allied characters: Kenshin Uesugi, Kagekatsu Uesugi, Aya, Mitsunari Ishida, Masanori Fukushima, Kiyomasa Katō, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Nene, Hanbei Takenaka, Hideie Ukita, Muneshige Tachibana, Lu Meng, Gan Ning Enemy characters: Kiyomori Taira, Sun Wukong, Dong Zhuo, Kotarō Fūma
The alliance to prevent the resurrection of Orochi was finally complete. In response, Kiyomori quietly concentrated his forces at Baidi Castle. Believing that Kiyomori was now attempting to revive Orochi, Sakon immediately ordered Hideyoshi and Kenshin to attack Baidi Castle…
Kenshin, Kagekatsu and Aya will advance to Baidi Castle from the east, Mitsunari, Masanori and Kiyomasa will advance from the south and Hideyoshi, Nene and Hanbei will advance from the west. Muneshige Tachibana, Lu Meng and Gan Ning will appear as the ambush troops engaging Dong Zhuo’s officers in the central path to the northwest.
Defeat Kiyomori to win the battle, but he will say that it is too late…
In the aftermath, Sakon is depressed over his failure to prevent Orochi’s resurrection, but Fu Xi convinces Sakon to put his final plan in place to defeat Orochi. Shingen accepts Sakon’s offer to join him again on the battlefield.
Chapter 16: Battle of Sekigahara 関ヶ原の戦い
Coalition Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Shingen Takeda, Sakon Shima, Fu Xi Enemy characters: Orochi X, Da Ji, Masamune Date, Kojūrō Katakura, Hisahide Matsunaga, Motonari Mōri, Takakage Kobayakawa
Unlocked characters: Kiyomori Taira
Some variations have been made for the Chapter 16 battles against Orochi X. In each faction’s version, they will fight four of Orochi’s main generals. In this version of the battle, those generals will be Da Ji, Masamune Date, Hisahide Matsunaga and Motonari Mōri.
Orochi had been resurrected and was surrounded by Da Ji and Masamune. The final battle lay ahead at Sekigahara…
Hisahide Matsunaga will appear in place of Keiji Maeda with his sneak attack unit in the northwest. At the same time, Motonari Mōri and Takakage Kobayakawa will also appear with their sneak attack unit in the centre. Due to the fog around Sekigahara, both sneak attack units will reveal themselves as they approach the main camp.
Defeat Da Ji and the officers outside the enemy camp, then enter the camp and defeat Orochi X to win the battle.

Unlockable character: Ma Chao
Clear Chapter 1 to unlock this stage.
Nobunaga arrived at Kawanakajima to find a warrior bravely leading his army against Orochi’s forces. It was Ma Chao, one of the legendary Five Tiger Generals of Shu. He was attempting to keep the citizens of the area safe, leading them to Zenkōji. However, the Orochi Army was led by Sima Yi. Nobunaga moved to their aid after being urged by Huang Zhong.
At the start of the battle, Sima Zhao will appear in place of Wang Shuang, Wang Yuanji will appear in place of Zhong Hui and Jia Chong will appear in place of Guo Huai. Zhuge Dan will appear in place of Wang Lang, Sima Shi will appear in place of the generic Sima Zhao and Zhang Chunhua will appear in place of Xin Pi. Zhong Hui will appear in place of Niu Jin when he appears alongside Deng Ai as ambush troops inside the Stone Sentinel Maze.
Defeat Sima Yi and guide the peasants to Zenkōji to win the battle.
To unlock Ma Chao, ensure that all peasants reach Zenkōji.

Unlockable character: Lu Xun

To unlock Lu Xun, escort him to your main camp and complete the battle with your allies still alive.

Coalition Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Okuni, Zhang Jiao, Hanbei Takenaka Enemy characters: Koshōshō, Dong Zhuo, Ina, Lu Lingqi, Lu Bu
Unlockable character: Koshōshō
Clear Chapter 3 to unlock this stage.
Dong Zhuo served Orochi for one reason and one reason only: gold. Orochi was having gold transported to him “for military funding use”. Hearing of this, Hideyoshi Toyotomi gathered an army to ambush the supply units…
This is one of few stages where the unlockable character is different from the original. This was done to maintain Dong Zhuo’s status as a staunch officer of the Orochi Army (and to account for future appearances in other stories).
Hanbei Takenaka will appear in place of Kanbei Kuroda in this battle. Koshōshō will appear as an additional officer in Dong Zhuo’s main camp. Zhang Ji will appear with the first supply captain and Lu Lingqi will take his place to appear with the second supply captain. Lu Bu will continue to appear with the third supply captain.
In the original version, Dong Zhuo will lose faith in Orochi when his gold doesn’t arrive, but in this version, he will proclaim revenge on the Coalition Army while Koshōshō will become intrigued by them. Defeat Koshōshō and Dong Zhuo to win the battle.
To unlock Koshōshō, defeat all supply captains before they reach Dong Zhuo.

Unlockable character: Cao Ren
Clear Chapter 5 to unlock this stage.
Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi advanced upon Nagashino, hoping to draw the full attention of the Orochi Army. Their plan worked; Orochi transferred his primary forces from Guandu to Nagashino, leaving Guandu dangerously undermanned.
If Nobunaga were to take advantage of this opportunity and attack Guandu, then a mortal blow could be dealt to Orochi’s ambitions. For this reason, Shingen and Kenshin were prepared to sacrifice themselves. But just as they were prepared to ride to their deaths, help came from an unexpected quarter…
Takakage Kobayakawa will appear with Zhu Huan and Hao Zhao as they attack the Takeda-Uesugi main camp at Nagashino Castle, while Motonari Mōri will appear with Yue Jin and Hiroie Kikkawa as they attack the Tobigasu Garrison. Lianshi and Ding Feng will appear as additional units outside the Orochi Army main camp at Shitaragahara. Li Dian will replace Takatora Tōdō in this battle. Kagekatsu Uesugi will appear with Kanetsugu Naoe when the main cavalry arrives.
During the battle, Cao Ren will be wondering how they can fight if they are prepared to discard their lives to defeat Orochi. To unlock him, rescue Shingen and Kenshin within 5 minutes (originally 2), then defeat him by yourself (preferably while you are escorting the cavalry units to the Maruyama Garrison).
Chapter 6-X: Showdown at Odawara Castle 小田原城決戦 (uses SW2 west map)
Coalition Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Nobunaga Oda, Huang Zhong, Hideyoshi Toyotomi Enemy characters: Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi, Jia Xu, Hisahide Matsunaga, Munenori Yagyū, Ina, Sun Shangxiang, Guan Suo, Ding Feng, (Aya)
Unlockable character: Aya (secret mission)
Clear Chapter 6 to unlock this stage.
Having seized the Orochi Army fortress at Guandu, Nobunaga’s army was riding the crest of a wave. Just at this time, news filtered through of a rebellion against Orochi led by Cao Pi and Mitsunari Ishida at Odawara Castle. The forces of the Orochi Army in Odawara had been severly depleted through the ongoing battle. Nobunaga immediately dispatched a unit to aid the rebellion, thinking that such a golden opportunity should not be overlooked.
Jia Xu will appear among the ambush units in the southern garrison, while Hisahide Matsunaga and Munenori Yagyū will appear among the ambush units in the northern garrison.
Aya can be unlocked in this battle after completing a secret mission, which can be unlocked by defeating Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi after foiling their plans.
See through Sima Yi’s ambush plan by defeating both Yellowbelly and Urutu before they arrive at the northern and southern garrisons. Then see through Zhuge Liang’s empty castle plan by rushing into the central garrison (Mt Ishigaki) alone before your allies do. After defeating Ina and Sun Shangxiang, resume fighting as normal.
After Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi retreat, Aya will appear in an event, explaining that she got lost while she was fleeing the Orochi Army’s attack. She managed to find the Coalition Army and seeing their skill in foiling Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi’s plans, wants to test their skill before she joins them. Defeat Aya in the secret mission and win the battle.
Chapter 7-X: Battle of Kanegasaki 金ヶ崎の戦い
Coalition Army and Honda Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Huang Zhong, Okuni, Xiaoqiao, Kanbei Kuroda Third-party characters: Tadakatsu Honda Enemy characters: Masamune Date, Kojūrō Katakura, Motonari Mōri, Takakage Kobayakawa, Chen Gong, Yu Jin, Jia Xu, Zhuge Dan, Lu Bu
Unlockable character: Tadakatsu Honda (4/4)
Clear Chapter 6-X to unlock this stage.
Orochi sent his closest ally, Masamune Date, to the headquarters of the Resistance in Kanegasaki. If Kanegasaki were to fall, it would mean the end of the resistance. In addition, a fatal blunder had been made, leaving Huang Zhong with a very small defense unit…
On the Orochi Army side, Koroku Hachisuka is replaced by another generic officer because why would he be an enemy when he appears as an ally in Chapter 6-X and 8-X? Kojūrō Katakura will appear as an additional officer next to Masamune Date, while Motonari Mōri and Takakage Kobayakawa appear in place of Zhang He and Guo Jia in this battle.
Enemy reinforcements led by Yu Jin, Jia Xu and Zhuge Dan will arrive when the messenger escapes the battlefield or is defeated; in the case of the former, it will provide the Coalition Army with more enemies to defeat so when the allied reinforcements arrive, it doesn’t look like they came for nothing. Kanbei Kuroda will appear in place of Morichika Chōsokabe among the allied reinforcements. Also, the allied reinforcements will arrive two minutes after the messengers escape instead of three minutes.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Tadakatsu Honda. To impress him, guide the messenger to the northeastern garrison as usual. Defeat Lu Bu yourself and allow the messenger to escape. Wait for the allied reinforcements to arrive, then defeat Masamune to win the battle.
An additional condition in the original game was that none of your allies could be defeated, but that condition has been removed in this version.
Chapter 8-X: Battle of Baidi Castle 白帝城の戦い
Coalition Army and Nō Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Nobunaga Oda, Hanbei Takenaka Third-party characters: Nō, Cao Cao Enemy characters: Kotarō Fūma, Lu Bu, Orochi, Da Ji, Diamondback
Unlockable character: Lu Bu (4/4)
In Chapter 7, get 1000 KOs to unlock this stage.
Baidi Castle was one of the Orochi Army’s main strongholds. Forced to respond to other uprisings, Orochi had left this castle undermanned. Coordinating with his wife, Lady Nō, who had been freed by Sun Ce, Nobunaga organised a pincer attack on the castle. Just when the castle seemed likely to fall, however, Nobunaga received news that Orochi had sent an enormous force to welcome him…
Hanbei Takenaka is replaced by a generic officer in this battle. Yoshimasa Oka and Morishige Tsuchihashi are replaced by other generic officers because the Saika Renegades should be with Shu.
Orochi will appear in this battle if Chapter 8 has been cleared.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Lu Bu. To impress him, just defeat him without running away from him.

Samurai Warriors 4 DX (no Definitive Edition subtitle?) was released today, 14 May 2024, on PC via Steam, having previously been released in Japan only in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Nearly a decade ago when I was working on the Koei Warriors Rant Series, there was a fan on the Koei Facebook page named Mariano Fernandez Cuzzocrea, an Argentinian lawyer who was constantly begging for a PC port of Samurai Warriors 4 in the comments, to the derision of intolerant opinion-neutral fanboys. His wish would be partially fulfilled with the release of Samurai Warriors 4-II, though in retrospect, the main game would have been a better choice.
Years later, Koei Tecmo made the right choice. In spite of what happened with Dynasty Warriors 9 in 2018 and the radio silence in terms of new mainline Warriors games since Samurai Warriors 5 in 2021, they have rereleased modern series classics such as DW7XL, WO3U and now this. And yet they still never made the effort to give this and WO3U an English dub. Sure, the PSN Store is dead for the PS3, but who's to say they can't do it for the PS4 given how its games are compatible for the PS5?
So anyway, congratulations Mariano. You finally won.

It was reported that in his initial fight against Orochi, Cao Cao had died at Yiling. However, Nobunaga decided to head to Honnōji, where Cao Cao was rumoured to be living in seclusion. By the time Nobunaga arrived, Honnōji was surrounded by Orochi’s forces.

Li Dian will be replaced by a generic officer when Xiahou Dun arrives. Lianshi will appear in place of Chen Lan and Lei Bo will be replaced by a Wu generic officer.
Xiahou Dun will arrive, outraged that his lord is not there while the “pretender” Nobunaga is. Shingen Takeda will follow, expecting to find Nobunaga, but he finds that Nobunaga is occupied with the Orochi Army.
In the aftermath of the battle, Xiahou Dun tells Nobunaga that he is not fit to replace Cao Cao. Nobunaga tells him that he is wasting his time searching for the dead. Sun Shangxiang is brought to Nobunaga, having been captured in the battle. Nobunaga asks if the kingdom of Wu has any spirit left in them, then has the prisoners released.
Chapter 3: Battle of Kyūshū 州の戦い

The kingdom of Wu had its leader Sun Jian captured and their forces forced to serve in the Orochi Army. Nobunaga decided to send Sakon Shima to aid Sun Ce, who was leading Wu in his father’s absence. Sakon was aware of the secrets of many armies, including the whereabouts of where Sun Jian was held. Nobunaga believed that if Sun Ce had that information, he would defect from the Orochi Army. However, the Orochi Army arrived to attack Nobunaga at that very moment, making Sakon’s journey extremely problematic…

Believing that this had only served to gather the enemy soldiers for easier disposal, Orochi gleefully sent his main forces in to wage war with them at Nagashino. Though Shingen and Kenshin were brave and cunning leaders, they were outnumbered by Orochi’s army. When Nobunaga heard what was happening, he sent his army to attack Guandu rather than send reinforcements to Nagashino.
Lu Lingqi will appear in place of Nobushige Oyamada in this battle. Ling Tong will arrive in the east to assist in this battle.
In the aftermath, Huang Zhong will report that Shingen and Kenshin have been defeated at Nagashino. However, Nobunaga foresaw that and reveals that if he went to Nagashino, the enemy would have overrun Guandu instead.

Da Ji set forth to meet Nobunaga at the Wuzhang Plains…

When Lu Bu is defeated, Orochi will open the gates of Koshi Castle. Defeat Orochi to win the battle.

This is one of few stages where the unlockable character is different from the original. This was done to maintain Keiji’s status as a staunch officer of the Orochi Army (and to account for future appearances in other stories).
Lu Lingqi appears in place of Keiji Maeda in this stage. Lu Su appears in place of Zhu Zhi as the first allied reinforcement unit to arrive.
Every couple of minutes, Lu Meng will make an announcement that reinforcements are arriving, at which point you need to head to the main camp and sound the drum, otherwise Masanobu Honda will sound the drum for you after one minute. You will need to guide the allied reinforcements to the enemy main camp while defending the allied main camp from the enemy.

Ranmaru Mori appears in place of Zhu Zhi and Naotora Ii appears in place of Chunyu Qiong in this battle. Kojūrō Katakura appears in the northeast part of the battlefield. Yang Qiu appears in place of Zhu Ran as well.

Sea Princesses 20th Anniversary Update
Tumblr media
2024 marks 20 years since the first Sea Princesses book, which would later be known as The World of Salacia, was published in Brazil. To celebrate, I'm writing a special one-off fanfic set in an amalgamated universe combining elements of the book series, the animated series, the Yabuverse (Combo Rangers), the Kisekaeverse (my personal project) and the Liamverse (renaissance). The fanfic will begin publication in October 2024 with new chapters to be released on Saturdays.
At the time of writing, series creator Fabio Yabu has no plans for the 20th anniversary of Sea Princesses, but if he announces something that conflicts with the release schedule, then that will take priority so I can work on translating it. More side story saga releases are in the works, but my focus is on the main story for now.

Kunoichi appears, reporting to Cao Cao that “an army led by a monkey” has been spotted ahead. Cao Cao decides to investigate.
Cao Cao’s ambush unit is replaced by Wei officers as the officers that appear in the original stage are part of Nobunaga’s army, who do not join until very late into the story.
In the aftermath, Cao Cao tells Nuwa that she should not take advantage of him. Kunoichi will report that Lu Bu has been sighted at Sishui Gate.
Chapter 10: Battle of Sishui Gate 汜水関の戦い

Nuwa will then tell Cao Cao that Da Ji is working to resurrect Orochi and the monkey’s master (Kiyomori) is working towards the same goal. Cao Cao decides to request his son to gather as much aid as possible and sends Zhang He to recruit Yuan Shao to their cause. Cao Cao will also send messages for help as well.

Kunoichi spots Sun Wukong again and Cao Cao sends Xiahou Yuan to lead an assault.
The third army is called the Maeda Army 前田軍 in the original game, but they are called the Saika Renegades 雑賀衆 in this version as Toshiie is the odd one out of that army. Wei Army and Cao Pi Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Cao Cao, Dian Wei Third-party characters: Cao Pi, Zhenji, Cao Ren, Pang Tong, Xu Shu Enemy characters: Orochi, Kiyomori Taira, Sun Wukong, Diamondback, Dodomeki, Gyūki
Unlocked characters: Cao Pi, Zhenji, Cao Ren, Pang Tong, Xu Shu
Kiyomori has awakened Orochi and taken him to the battlefield, in the hope of fighting the warriors of Wei. This is reported to Cao Cao by Dian Wei. They hurry to save Cao Pi from certain death.
In the original games, Orochi cannot be fought unless you use a cheat code to walk through walls. In this version, you can fight Orochi after completing a secret mission; you need to have cleared this stage once, then Pang Tong’s fire attack needs to be executed within the first 8 minutes of the battle. If successful, then Orochi will challenge you to face him after Kiyomori comments that he must put an end to this battle himself. In either case, Kiyomori or Orochi can be defeated to win the battle. This will apply to Story Mode and not Free Mode.
Regardless of who is defeated, Kiyomori will teleport Orochi away. In the aftermath, Nuwa informs Cao Cao that in order to fully revive, Orochi requires a girl named Himiko. Despite his chagrin of Nuwa withholding information from him, Cao Cao declares that they must find Himiko.
Chapter 14: Battle of Yamatai 邪馬台の戦い
Wei Army and Azai Army vs. Da Ji Army Allied characters: Cao Rui, Toshiie Maeda, Jiang Wei Third-party characters: Nagamasa Azai, Oichi Enemy characters: Da Ji, Himiko, Keiji Maeda, Hisahide Matsunaga
Unlocked characters: Nagamasa Azai, Oichi
Jiang Wei and Toshiie Maeda set off to find Da Ji and Himiko. They spot them after a while in a place called Yamatai.
Hisahide Matsunaga will appear among the ambush units defending the cannon fortress.
After Da Ji’s defeat, Himiko will be spotted travelling towards Tong Gate. Cao Cao sends Xiahou Dun to Tong Gate.
Chapter 15: Battle of Tong Gate 潼関の戦い
Wei Army and Oda Army vs. Taira Army Allied characters: Xiahou Dun, Magoichi Saika Third-party characters: Nobunaga Oda, Nō, Katsuie Shibata Enemy characters: Kiyomori Taira, Diamondback, Sun Wukong, Dong Zhuo
Unlocked characters: Nobunaga Oda, Nō, Katsuie Shibata
A bit of a spoiler alert for a future part – Nobunaga Oda originally appeared in both the Wei and Samurai Warriors stories for Part B. Personally, I find that to be illogical and it robs Mitsunari Ishida of any significant relevance since he doesn’t even have any special character encounter lines in this stage. As such, Nobunaga will appear in the Wei story while Mitsunari will appear in the Samurai Warriors story alongside Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
Magoichi Saika will appear as an extra officer in this stage. Nō will appear in place of Mitsunari Ishida when the Oda Army arrives.
In the aftermath, Cao Cao thanks Nobunaga for his reinforcements. They prepare to defeat Orochi, who has revived in Guandu.
Chapter 16: Battle of Guandu 官渡の戦い
Wei Army and Coalition Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Cao Cao, Nobunaga Oda, Yuan Shao, Xu Shu, Taishi Ci Third-party characters: Liao Hua, Dong Jue, Guan Yi, Zhuge Ke, Quan Zong, Chen Wu Enemy characters: Orochi X, Keiji Maeda, Sima Yi, Sima Shi, Zhuge Dan, Zhang Chunhua, Gyūki, Himiko, Zhong Hui, Deng Ai, Yu Jin, Dong Zhuo
Unlocked characters: Sun Wukong
Some variations have been made for the Chapter 16 battles against Orochi X. In each faction’s version, they will fight four of Orochi’s main generals. In this version of the battle, those generals will be Sima Yi, Keiji Maeda, Himiko and Dong Zhuo.
Yuan Shao will appear in place of Hanbei Takenaka, Xu Shu will appear in place of Nobumori Sakuma and Taishi Ci will appear in place of Xun You. When the Coalition Army appears later on in this battle, generic officers will appear in place of the playable officers featured.
Sima Shi and Zhuge Dan appear in place of Masamune Date and Kojūrō Katakura at Guandu Castle, with Sima Yi’s officers replacing the Date officers. Zhang Chunhua appears in place of Sima Zhao while Zhong Hui, Deng Ai, Yu Jin and Dong Zhuo will appear with Orochi’s main forces.
So, Wei’s story finishes here! Next up will be Wu’s story!

To unlock Yoshimoto, prevent the enemy engineers from infiltrating the central garrison and launching a fire attack. There will be a total of 8 coming in two waves, at first one at a time then two at a time. They will all appear in an anti-clockwise direction on the map.

However, an incensed Dong Zhuo immediately began pursuit before they spot Mitsunari Ishida, who had decided to help Diaochan.
Lu Lingqi will be past the first gate while Chen Gong will advance with Dong Zhuo.
To unlock Diaochan, make sure she stays alive during the battle and clear the battle within 10 minutes (originally 6:40 min).
Chapter 6-X: Battle of Liang Province 涼州の戦い
Coalition Army and Zhenji Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Cao Pi, Xiahou Yuan, Xiahou Ba, Guo Huai Third-party characters: Zhenji Enemy characters: Dong Zhuo, Kotarō Fūma, Cao Pi (fake)

Unlockable character: Lu Bu (2/4)
In Chapter 7, defeat Da Ji within 3 minutes of her defection (originally 1) to unlock this stage.
With the news that Cao Cao was still alive, Orochi became enraged and challenged Wei to a battle to end all battles.
Kojirō Sasaki and a generic officer will appear in the northwest as reinforcements. Hisahide Matsunaga and two more generic officers will arrive in the northeast just as Sun Ce arrives, which is either when Cao Cao’s plan is successful (they would originally not appear in this case) or when 10 minutes have passed and the plan isn’t successful yet or has failed. Hisahide’s unit is a fire attack unit, so if they are not defeated in a few minutes, all the ships in the east will go up in flames.
Orochi will appear in this battle if Chapter 8 has been cleared.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Lu Bu. To impress him, just defeat him without running away from him.

Like with the Battle of Hulao Gate (Shu Chapter 6), there is a messenger that appears where a bridge to the southeast would be when Zhou Yu arrives who doesn’t seem to serve any purpose other than to give 600 EXP when defeated. He is removed in this version.
If the player is fast enough to defeat Sun Ce, a few details will be missed. Even if Sun Ce arrives at the dock, there is still time even after Zhou Yu arrives before Sun Ce can escape.
In the end, Cao Pi allows Sun Ce to escape with Zhou Yu. He and Mitsunari report to a suspicious Da Ji that Zhou Yu managed to outsmart them by using an imposter, allowing Sun Ce to escape. Cai Wenji is the next to be released by Orochi.

The actions of Cao Pi were in preparation for his eventual rebellion, such as releasing Huang Gai and Sun Ce. However, there was one more element he needed before he could rebel, and that was Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan. They were an independent resistance group since Wei’s defeat to Orochi. Cao Pi and Mitsunari head out to Yiling, assisted by Sun Shangxiang’s forces. Cao Pi heads to the southeast while Sun Shangxiang heads to the northwest.
Li Dian replaces Xu Shu, Xiahou Ba replaces Li Dian and Lianshi replaces Dong Xi in this battle. Guo Huai appears in the centre of the battlefield.
In the aftermath, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan and Pang Tong will join Cao Pi alongside Xiahou Ba and Guo Huai. Wang Yi will also be released from custody.

Cao Pi also heads to the main keep, intending on capturing Da Ji, only for the castle to be set alight by Da Ji.
Cai Wenji is on the bottom right chamber of the main keep’s lower level while Wang Yi is with the allied units in the north of the battlefield. Motonari and Takakage will appear in the southeast of the battlefield when Da Ji calls for reinforcements.
At the end of the battle, Cao Pi will ask Da Ji to work for him and she agrees. Huang Gai pledges his service to Cao Pi after saving his life on three occasions.

Coalition Army vs. Orochi Army Allied characters: Cao Cao, Cao Pi, Mitsunari Ishida, Dian Wei, Xun Yu, Guo Jia Enemy characters: Orochi, Da Ji, Lu Bu, Masamune Date, Kojūrō Katakura, Diamondback
Some variations have been made to the Chapter 8 Koshi Castle battles. In each faction’s version, they will fight one of Orochi’s main generals with the exception of Da Ji and Lu Bu, who will appear in each version. In this version of the battle, that general will be Masamune Date.
Cao Cao allows his son to lead his army for this final battle against Orochi. Dian Wei, Xun Yu and Guo Jia will join them as well. Owing to Keiji Maeda’s absence in this battle, Kojūrō Katakura will be defending the southern cannon fortress in this battle.
In the aftermath, the Wei officers rejoice following Orochi’s defeat. Cao Pi meets with Mitsunari and the officers he has taken in over the many battles. Cao Pi and Mitsunari discuss Cao Pi’s unfulfilled dream and how he will need everyone’s help to fulfil it.

Note
Hi. I’ve been reading your Sea Princesses cartoon reviews. Being a Latin American that used to watch the series on Discovery Kids as a child, I got surprised at the fact that the Princes and Princesses’ original Brazilian names weren’t translated in the English version. The princesses’ pets had their names translated (Tenty, Spikey, Gummy), so the choice of not doing that to the main characters, at least for me, ends up being jarring. As you may know, the names of the latter are based on the Brazilian names of the species that each represent, usually forming a straight-up pun. The kind of pun that makes one say “Was there any thought in choosing these names?”. Based on how strange I’ve found having language references that only a few can understand, I’ve decided to make a list of possible English names for Salacia’s royalty (Miss Marla included). If you’ve seen the cartoon “Fish Hooks”, you may realize some influence of its pun-based character names on my, shall we say, “translations”. Without further ado, here we go:
Polvina – Octina
Ester – The writing of Ester’s name remains the same, but her name is pronounced as “Es-TER”, just like in the Spanish dubs.
Tubarina – Sharkina
Marcello – Hamar
Hugo – Telmo
Tata – Tara
Maurico – Tarchin
Bia – The name remains unchanged
Leia (a name that I’m surprised didn’t call the attention of Lucasfilm lawyers back in the day) – Wendy
Marli – Sora
Sirilo – Brad
Vivi – Nelly
Isa – Either the name remains unchanged or the character is named “Aisha”
Juli – Clara
Jessi – Claudia
Elektra – The name remains unchanged
Lia – The name remains unchanged
Delfi – Dolphie
Angelica – The name and its English pronunciation remain unchanged
Soraia – Finley
Camarina – Shrimpina
Caramelo – Stanley
Socita – Gretel
Agostinha – Leslie
Matilda – Helen
Veto – Kash (with a K and not a C)
Caton – Samuel
Miss Marla – Miss Chelsea (Ruby Gillman, where?)
That would be all. What do you think about my translations?
You're either a genius with puns or stepping dangerously into 4Kids localisation territory here. It took me some time to understand what you were going for, but looking at the character names in Fish Hooks, they made the puns more obvious whereas here you have to think about it for more than 10 seconds.
However, I would have named Maurico as "Murchin" or "Murchison" because above him you already had two names starting with T and it felt a bit jarring.

Goemon’s miscreants along with Kotarō Fūma will stop the player along the way. Okuni will also slow Goemon down as he reaches the ships in the south, forcing him to turn back and head to the ships in the southwest. Musashi will also help Goemon, but upon his defeat, Wei Yan tells him that Goemon stole his treasure, leading him to defect and help to stop Goemon.

Masamune Date set up his camp in Jieting, hoping to force the surrender of Zhao Yun. Zhao Yun sends out Magoichi to lead the battle, accompanied by Zhurong and Xingcai. When they got there, Magoichi sees Gracia and goes to her rescue; in return for finding her, Gracia decides to help Magoichi in this battle.
This is one of few stages where the unlockable character is different from the original. This was done to maintain Masamune’s status as a staunch officer of the Orochi Army (and to account for future appearances in other stories).
More enemy officers will appear around the battlefield, with the addition of playable officers Lianshi, Hisahide Matsunaga and Munenori Yagyū. Lianshi appears in place of Dong Xi, while Hisahide and Munenori are in the south and east respectively.
To unlock Gracia, finish the battle with the pincer attack successful. Otherwise, she will farewell Magoichi and continue wandering the land on her own.

Nobuyuki appears alongside his brother in this battle.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Tadakatsu Honda. To impress him, allow all three peasants to escape. A good strategy is to follow them during their advance.

In Chapter 7, escape Edo Castle with your allies within 3 minutes (originally 2) after the fire attack starts to unlock this stage.
After the battle of Edo Castle, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei turned upon Orochi to atone for their past sins. Following them were their children, accompanied by the strategist Fa Zheng. In response, Orochi sent Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu to put down this insurrection.
The only allied generic officer on the battlefield is Zhou Cang. With the exception of Fa Zheng, all other generic officers have been replaced with the Guan/Zhang babies and Bao Sanniang.
Orochi will appear in this battle if Chapter 8 has been cleared.
This is one of four battles required to unlock Lu Bu. To impress him, just defeat him without running away from him.
