Okay, now I've finished the Very Important People finale, and: What.
I have no idea what I just watched, but I do know it was absolutely virtuosic improv performance from Vic and Brennan. Brennan decided after his mirror sequence to just be "guy from the woods," with absolutely no other idea of what he would do, and combined with having someone as fantastic as Vic as a partner, that gave the episode a phenomenal amount of freedom. It really feel like it could turn on a dime at any point without ever stalling or crashing.
Who the fuck is Augbert? As the titles said: ???. He's Brennan Lee Mulligan wearing carpet samples and a fake beard. He's a screaming time traveler from an apocalyptic future or a cursed fantasy universe, he's Vic's brother, he's her very expensive therapist, he's a vlogger, and he's a physicist with a bag full of rocks, at least one of which is not a rock because he hatched it. He can't stand bowls, objects with eyes, or using a chair as directed for longer than 0.5 seconds. He doesn't know what an alligator is, but he sure knows centrifugal force. He's from Newfoundland, probably, and his hair was reused as Ally's wig for their VIP episode. No wonder Vic decided this all had to be a dream.
