Okay this is getting too stupid for me. I'm so tired of possession stories. Just let characters be themselves? So we know what their values are?
I know it's way to let characters we care about be antagonists without it truly being their fault but todays comics drag out their plots SOOO MUCH and use "oh that character is not themself" too often. I don't want more Zur en Arrh. It was kind of fun when Zdarsky started his run, but now I'm long over it. He needs to go.
What happened to shorter arcs that actually had different ideas, showed us new sides of a character? Introduced new stuff?
Bruce reminding himself that the batfamily members are his children and not his soldiers? That Tim is the "perfect" partner to him and that it was just Zur messing with his mind that made him think otherwise? Yeah, great, he already reached that conclusion in the first arc of the run. Why are we doing this arc all over again right now? For I think the third time in this run alone.
I'm also so tired of Joker stories and so tired of everyone thinking they need to drag out the same stories again and again.
Get to the point. Write characters as themselves. Freaking read up on their history and use some critical thinking skills. Don't be mean spirited and if you are pick another character to write.
Also can the Joker just die? He's so uninteresting at this point.
God. Sorry for the rant, but comics have simply become so repetitive and boring.
Tldr: Just make shorter arcs with new ideas, use the Joker sparingly, don't be a dick to characters you don't know. And stop using the Batman of Zur en Arrh, this is almost as bad as the Batman Who Laughs a few years ago.

I really need people to understand that while Damian is very similar to Bruce their circumstances couldn't be more different.
I don't think Bruce ever questions if his parents loved him. He mourns them to this day, but he knows he was treasured. He didn't have to do anything for it. Damian? Damian thinks he has to be useful to not be discarded. And the sad thing is that he has reason to do so.
Damian died while trying to prove his worth as a hero to his father. He knows his mother and grandfather have high expectations of him. We even saw Alfred speaking down on him while he needed help (even if DC pretends that was never written).
It's just so hurtful seeing a character you relate to needing to "earn love" when they should just get it like everyone else. Damian is not a monster or a mistake, he's a child deserving of love.
