GLACIER EXIT from Raphael Rogers on Vimeo.
We stood on the ice dunes of the glaciers of Alaska in the midst of a snowy winter. Trekking the slopes of another planet had been on our list for a long time. The silence and majesty of the mountains surrounding us, the bluest ice we had ever seen and the steady rush of ice turned to water. How did we get here? We met Rick by chance on a rainy road in Seward, Alaska. He had a worn work jacket, a great white beard and the friendliest demeanor two travelers could ask for. He turned out to be the skeleton key to the locked treasure that was our way into Exit Glacier. We had the entire ice field to ourselves. And a sole chance to tell its story. So we took it.

The Frozen Road (Full Film) from Ben Page Films on Vimeo.
Self-shot and edited whilst cycling around the world, this short film charts my winter journey into the Canadian Arctic as I completed my bike ride up the American continent. Compelled by Jack London’s assertion, that ‘any man who is a man can travel alone’, I sought an adventure of perfect solitude. Yet, as I came to realise, the harsh truths of travelling in such a formidable environment were a long way from the romantic images I’d held of this land. The Frozen Road is an honest reflection on my solo trip; of the wonder, terror and frustration I experienced when riding through the unforgiving emptiness of one of the world's 'last great wildernesses'.

Notable awards for the film:
'Special Jury Mention' - Banff Mountain Film Festival 'Best Director' - Bilbao Mendi Film Festival 'Spirit of Adventure' - 5Point Film Festival 'Best Adventure Film' - New York WILD 'Best Exploration and Adventure Film' - Fort William Mountain Film Festival
Featuring in the Banff World Tour 2018

If you've enjoyed this film please think about donating whatever you think it was worth/can afford to help cover some of the costs of making it and releasing it for FREE! Between 2014 and 2017 I pedalled my way across five continents, filming the entire journey as I went. I'm hoping to turn that footage into a longer film later this year and so any kind support will really help make that happen :) PLUS any donators will receive a download of The Frozen Road for free! Please follow the PayPal button on the link below. Thanks, Ben.

WINTER | DOLOMITES 4K TIMELAPSE from Martin Heck | Timestorm Films on Vimeo.
The first video of my Dolomites timelapse series featuring the beautiful mountains of northern Italy changing over the seasons. Winter is a tough time for shooting in high alpine environments over longer periods. Both for equipment and people. Though it provides a wonderful quiet when all the people return to the valleys for the night and you are the only one left on the mountain. SAFARI South Africa | A Time-Lapse Film - In 4K from Tyler Fairbank on Vimeo.
My safari guides thought I was nuts taking thousands of photos each day so hopefully now they will understand... This was my first trip to anywhere in the continent and it was eye opening. There are few things more thrilling than being woken up at 5:30am to the sounds of lions outside your tent. I will be back South Africa. This video was shot and edited by Tyler Fairbank. Licensing, project quotes or questions please contact me at [email protected] lightowlproductions.com
Thank you to Mike and Kim for arranging this trip and to everyone at Southern Destinations and MORE Experiences. Check them out: southerndestinations.com/ more.co.za/
We spent time in Marakele, Madikwe, and Sabi Sands trying to find the big 5: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, rhino. As you can see we found them all thanks to our safari guides. We had a little bit of luck on our side as well. Also, big thanks to Hein Myers for taking us out to get some astro time-lapses after hours.
I will be releasing many videos in the next few months so make sure to follow me!
Time and Hyper-lapses were all shot on the Canon 5D and Sony A7s in raw, graded in Lightroom with LightroomTL, and further stabilized, motion tracked, and whatever else was needed in After Effects CC. Final edit was cut in Premiere Pro. For 4K Resolution viewing: youtu.be/5EW87au1oaU Any other questions feel free to ask! Please Enjoy!
