I need to talk about this years Eurovision because it is A M A Z I N G, I'm just gonna ramble about some of the songs and performances I thought were cool (spoiler warning for the last paragraph where I talk about results)

First of all, Serbia and their beautiful ballad "Ramonda" by Tera Dora. The song is absolutely beautiful, and I get goosebumps every time I listen to it. Tera sings beautifully, and really does the songs meaningful lyrics justice. From my understanding it's about what happened to Serbia in the first world war, and the lilac Ramonda is a flower that is really meaningful to the Serbian people, and I just thought that made the song so much more beautiful (though all my dumb mcyt brain can think about when I see lilac is desert duo).

Then we have Australia. It was so, so exciting to finally have an indigenous language and instrument in an Australian Eurovision entry. Electric fields did I great job, and whist a lot of people online say they don't like the song, I think it's really good and meaningful (though I can't say much as I'm not an indigenous Australian).

Now we move on to our wonderful queer entries, I loved all the representation this year, really making me feel seen. Ireland's Bambie Thug was an absolute icon with that trans flag outfit change, and their song and performance were very very good.

And then there's Switzerland. "The Code" has to be one of my favourite Eurovision songs, and not just because of the trans joy I feel when listening to it, it's a great song. Nemo performed amazingly and their singing was SO FREAKING GOOD! And I have to point out the outfit, 10/10, genderbending and iconic.

Now we have the results. I am so sad that Australia didn't make it to the final, I personally think they were robbed but the people want what the people want. Serbia was also robbed, I think it deserved top ten, but I can see why people would prefer to vote for the party songs. Ireland did pretty well, I think they placed around where they should have (I mean I would prefer them top five but they still did good). And Switzerland. I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN THEY WON. Nemo so deserved it, I don't understand all the hate I'm seeing with people saying Croatia should have one, even if it's the most popular the jury still makes up half the vote. It's SO AMAZING to have a non binary Eurovision winner, and the winners performance almost made me cry, it was just perfect. Not to mention the dynamic between Nemo and Bambie, Bambi giving them the crown and then Nemo wore it for the whole performance, it was so nice to see the artists support each other, especially the theys supporting theys. Well done Nemo, a win for Switzerland and a win for the nbs.

(oh and to all you people saying it was rigged, gayrovision, not deserving, and all the transphobes misgendering and being incredibly rude to Nemo, I hope that the witch haunts your dreams tonight and you wake up having pissed your pants :) )

I hate to say it, but Polites' death was even sadder than I first thought. Not only did he, Odysseus's best friend, die a horrible death, but his beliefs died with him. His song was all about convincing Odysseus to great the world with open arms, to be kind to his foes, but his death causes Odysseus to not only abandon those beliefs, but move in the complete opposite direction.

This is reinforced by "No longer you", with Tiresias telling Odysseus that the man who returns home isn't him anymore. That's because the old Odysseus, the one who believed in kindness and open arms, died with Polites, but the new Odysseus from "Monster" who believes in ruthlessness, in making it home no matter the cost, survives. He doesn't just become the monster, he destroys the other parts of him who believed what Polites did. In other words, Open arms Ody dies, but Ruthlessness is mercy Ody lives.

Sorry for the ramble but those are just my thoughts and interpretation of the Underworld Saga.
