This could go so many ways!
Danny acting out in more ridiculous ways in the hopes of seeing Dick and Jason again, until finally, one of them just gives him their numbers so they can hang at a Batburger instead of the station.
Or perhaps something a touch darker:
One night Danny gets brought in for something petty. He's covered in bright green sludge and a rust red-brown color. It's nothing more than luck that Jason got thrown in with him, since Dick isn't on duty that night. He wishes he had been, because the shade of green is as famiar as the blood mixed in with it. (Maybe Vlad crosses a line and they fight, or maybe he never really stopped trying to control him, and Danny's rebellion triggered a reaction.) And Dan knows Danny is safe in his cell, safe with Jason.
The next time they see Danny in jail, Dan is sitting next to him with blood smeared across his knuckles and a smug smirk on his face. Ellie helped, she just wasn't caught.
Jail Buddies
Once a month, Jason makes an effort to meet Dick on purpose. Sometimes even more. After all, he was a good little brother checking in with his brother. Though he had a rather uncontroversial way of doing so. One that involved getting led into a jail cell of your local police department and loudly demanding to speak to Officer Grayson.
Okay, maybe it wasn't like that it was an effort to check on his brother and just one of his many listed dumb moments of recklessness he got caught for. And he was maybe using his brother to get out without having to call Cass, Steph, Duke, Tim, Damian, Alfred or Bruce, in that order depending who was willing to bail him out every time Dick had his 'Little Wing you won't learn if I keep bailing you out.'-Phases again. Or if Dick was being petty because of a recent prank war.
Either way, while Jason was waiting for Dick to make his entrance in his cell he noticed the teen boy sharing the cell with him staring at him wide eyed. He arched an eyebrow, and decided on a whim to make friendly conversation.
"So what got you here kid?"
The teen blinked as if just realizing Jason had addressed him before grinning a bit feral, his blue eyes having an unnatural glow. "Vandalism."
Jason's eyebrow rose again, but the teen continued.
"Trashed mu place and gave my guardian's car a pretty paint job and some other stuff."
"You vandalized your own place? And got arrested."
"Fruitloop decided an overnight stay was a better punishment then leaving me unattended."
The teen shrugged and Jason couldn't help but feel like he just had heard a red flag. He opened his mouth to question the kid more but than his brother finally made his entrance.
"Little Wing! What did you do this time!?" Jason could see that Dick was out to start a rant but changed tunes when he noticed the teen.
"Danny or Dan? You are here again? When did they bring you in? Trouble at home?" Dick asked, and Jason clearly saw the telltale signs of information fishing bat style.
"Danny and the usual." Danny, as Jason now learned the kid's name was, shrugged nonchalantly like this wasn't the first time he and Dick had had that exchange.
"Seriously buddy? I had a rebellious phase as teen too but to regularly trash your home to the point that someone calls the police or vandalize your guardian's cars, buildings, advertisements or anything that has to do with him is not a solution kid." Jason arched an eyebrow at Dicks tone, feeling slightly reminded of whenever Dick lectured one of them.
"Oh I know. But it's a nice stress reliever, plus you guys are nice here. I get pizza as dinner whenever I stay the night." The kid grinned and Jason couldn't help the snort that earned him a little glare from Dick.
Instead of arguing further his brother let out a suffering sigh and let Jason out of the cell, waving him towards the exit and following him shortly after giving the kid one more look that looked like a mix between stern and pleading to stop being a rebellious teen.
Once out of earshot, Jason then chose to ask. "So what's the kid's deal?"
"Nothing, just a rebellious teen reminds me of Damian when he first appeared. He has a twin and a little sister as far as I know, both of them also known here. Their guardian is an upstanding man, though." Jason heard the hidden but.
"Did someone look into it?" I hummed more as a cover.
"Higher ups don't know, but i am running an investigation." Translation Bruce is unaware, but Dick was using Bat resources for looking into the kid's residence.
"Nice kid, didn't think he was a regular." He only commented.
"Nice and polite, you wouldn't think he did some of the things he was brought in for. Distrustful though, despite his friendly nature."
Jason nodded as Dick went through the papers to bail him out, a thought popping up in his head. Clearly, something was up with the kid that had his brother worried, and it looked like he was stuck on just doing his investigation. So, being the thoughtful little brother he was, Jason decided to help his brother.
In his uncontroversial ways, of course.
"Yo Danny, also here?" Jason grinned as he was led into the same cell the teen was in a week later.

I'm trying to prove a point to my brain: Reblog if you think fanfiction does not need sex to be good.
There is a trend I’ve noticed that smut fics tend to be much more popular than anything else and honestly I just want to have something to look at to remind myself and that writing doesn’t have to have sex to be worth putting out into the community.

Politically arranged marriage (IDK how those work)
During a Peace talk between the USA Government and The Infinite Realms a  US representative accuses that the King (Danny) could go back on his word anytime and they would end up defenseless against these monsters. A member of the king's court (I’m thinking Dorathea) asks if a union would convince them of their peace. The US gov is intrigued and think they could manipulate the King if he marries one of their citizens. The thing is… the US doesn’t have a monarchy.
Then one of the US reps has a brilliant idea. Bruce Wayne has been known as the Prince of Gotham for ages, they won’t have to fake any new articles or anything online to go back years. They could totally manipulate and have Brucie Wayne tell them anything they want to know without him even knowing!!! Danny’s (aged up to around Bruce’s age) like what the shit and quickly interjects. He says it’s improper to go straight to marriage (he’s trying to bs his way out of this) the same king's court ghost says ofc and they’ll have to court each other and both parties have to consent ofc, they thought that was a given.
Another of the king's court asks how this Bruce Wayne Prince of Gotham is even worthy of their king. Another rep tells him that Brucie is also known as the White Knight of Gotham. Another speaks up about his many good deeds and the children he’s taken in. They are all shitting themselves trying to think about how to avoid them finding articles about “Brucie Wayne gets drunk and falls into the harbor from his yacht-compilation” and they're trying to talk him up as much as possible.
Danny 100% knows about said article but he doubts Bruce is gonna accept to be a part of this (hello low self esteem) but he hopes to convince Bruce to play along long enough to keep peace and once everything’s settled down they can “break up”. He’ll go along with it to keep the peace he worked himself to exhaustion for, Ancients know his people wanted war.
Queue them both falling head over heels in love with each other and Danny getting too attached to both Bruce and the kids. He eventually does find out about Bruce being Batman but that just makes him like him more.
Those politicians are fuming they can’t get anything dirt on the Realms out of Brucie Wayne of all people!!! He’s talking and talking but he’s not actually saying anything! How does King Phantom stand him?!

Everyone knew that Bruce had passed on his adoption instinct to Damien. However, they thought they had at least five more years before Damien came home with a child. Yet here they were, with 13-year-old Damien holding a baby.
Damien did not know why they were shocked. Danyal was a warrior who had already proved his worth by biting a criminal who been attempting to steal a young ladies purse. Besides, Danyal would be a fine addition to the family.
Danny hadn’t planned on being adopted. He chose reincarnation to have a break. It wasn’t his fault. His instincts kicked in and he bit that criminal. Now he has to choose between being adopted by a rich guy or a rich guy’s son. At least the kid holding him seems like he is less creepy than the man staring blankly at him.

John Constantine stays on top of things in the Paranormal world. He's still not sure how this led to being a secret parent, but at this point why not have this happen in his life.
Point being, he knew when Pariah Dark got taken down by a kid.
He also knew that, whether or not that kid became the next High King, there would be a lot of attempts to summon him.
Further investigation revealed the flimsiest secret identity he'd ever seen, and also that the kid was like fourteen. Fifteen, max.
So he started his own personal campaign; he spread false rumors about the One Who Defeated Pariah Dark.
Gave the wrong summoning sigil out like candy, lied and said that the kid was strong enough to ignore his own summoning and send innocents in his stead because it was funny, interrupted as many potential summonings as he could, and overall kept an ear out for the kid.
He slipped Batman the information on the GIW, and to the surprise of no one it was dismantled in three months flat.
He made offerings to the kid, but charmed them so that they were bathed in the strongest protection wards he knew, just in case the kid had to go against his own parents. He made sure they were things a teenager would like; hoodies with NASA branding or space themes, backpacks from the DOOMED franchise, school supplies that were not themed because there was a limit to how much someone could do that before the other kids made fun of them, etc.
The kid has no idea he exists, which is great considering his uh. Luck. Better the kid doesn't know. Better he never starts thinking about the kid by his name.
Except at some point, he started doing that.
At some point, he started caring.
And worse, after that point, some of his enemies started to notice and hone in on Danny.

I've been foaming at the mouth for more quality mcu x dp crossovers since they started showing up less and less!
This!!! I need this! This is not simple a want, but a NEEED!!!
*makes grabby hands at fic*
All Father Thor, King of Asgard,
A new ruler of Hel has been chosen, the fearsome King Phantom, defeater of Pariah Dark. It is time for Asgard to prepare to pay the dues required to keep peace between the realms of the gods and of the dead. Bring the terms of your surrender to King’s Phantom’s representative on earth, Daniel James Fenton of Amity Park.
The Noble Scribe of King Phantom,
Ghost Writer
*****
“Okay so let me get this straight,” Tony Stark, Iron Man and Avenger said. “Ghosts are real.”
“Yes.” King Thor Odinson, Asgardian and god of thunder agreed.
“And they’re evil.”
“A bit of an oversimplification, but yes.” Prince Loki Odinson, sometimes villain and would be planet invader, answered.
“And the ghosts have had one ruler, the most powerful ghost in existence. And that new rulers are chosen by combat, meaning that every new ruler is more powerful than the last.”
“Yes, you’ve got the idea.” Thor said looking down at his knees for a moment.
“And since ghosts are so evil and so powerful, that means that their ruler is practically an unstoppable force of destruction.”
“Doesn’t it sound delightful?” Loki asked, to which he received a glare.
“So, for the past 10,000 years, at least, Asgard and plenty of other realms have been paying taxes to the ghost king to avoid a war. A racketeering scheme.”
“I don’t know what a racketeering scheme is but yes, the ghost peace treaty does require that Asgard pay the ghost king gold and magical weapons every century and if we fail to pay that price, then the peace treaty will be broken and Asgard will likely be forfeit.”
“That’s a racketeering scheme!”
“Well then yes.”
Tony pinched the bridge of his nose. It was clear the man’s headache was only growing stronger as he walked through the information the two gods had dumped into his lap this morning. Thor and Loki both had rushed into his lab and started babbling about world ending threats and how they might possibly be absolutely screwed.
“So, now there’s a new king. Which means a new peace treaty has to be signed.” Tony said the words ‘peace treaty’ in the same way he’d say ‘nuclear bomb’ or ‘Steve Rogers’.
“I thought you said it was a racketeering scheme?” Loki asked.
“Shut it.” Tony hissed.
“A new treaty must be signed.” Thor repeated, trying to keep the three of them on track.
“And since the last king Pariah Dark was so powerful that he made the entirety of Asgard tremble, you’re pretty sure this new king, Phantom, is probably worse.”
“Pariah Dark had the power to suck entire planets into the afterlife, destroying them,” Loki said looking at his nails. “Stands to reason that a ghost powerful enough to defeat him could do much, much worse.”
“Right. Fantastic!” Tony practically shouted.
“I don’t think anything about this is fantastic.” Thor admitted, he was ignored.
“And according to you Asgard has been paying the ghost tax for both their realm and ours since we were under Odin’s protection. And since Hela and Sutur destroyed your entire planet and your entire people are refugees, now we have to figure out how to keep an ultrapowerful ghost from wiping out our home without any way of paying him.”
“Technically we don’t know if Phantom is a ‘he’.” Loki pointed out unhelpfully.
“The letter literally says he’s a king!”
“Could be a title. What do the dead have need for gender?”
“This is not the point of this discussion,” Thor cut in before an argument about the usefulness of gender and the concept of a female king burst forth. “We’re here to figure out how to make peace with King Phantom without resulting in a war that would destroy our world and our peoples.”
“We don’t even have Earth’s mightiest heroes anymore.” Loki said, referencing the painful results of the civil war and the Accords.
“We’re fucked.” Tony decided.
“Yes,” Thor agreed. “We probably are.”

Danny Phantom Joins the Justice League with limitations. For the most part, they only call him to task for world ending threats, but he’s often spotted around the watch tower because it’s SPACE!
Anyway, Danny is in College by now he just finished midterms from hell and is basically a walking zombie. He’s at the watch tower because they have the best snacks and there’s also something horribly therapeutic about sleeping in space (clockwork says every king is assigned a domain and Danny’s is space so maybe that’s why. he’s also been in love with space as a whole since he first looked up at the night sky so maybe it’s some combination of both?)
So Danny’s shuffling along in his human form munching on some space snacks (because if there’s one thing the green lanturns are absolutely good for it’s providing none earth foods and Danny’s addicted to some of them) when the lights flicker. It’s only a moment, nothing too concerning. It was probably a solar flare. Danny ignores it, just like he ignores the whisp of smoke that came out of his mouth because space was always cold and what ghost would be dumb enough to fight him up here?
In Space.
Aka in King Phantom’s Domain?
….Skulker apparently.
But Danny is tired. Midterms from hell, remember? he steps into the conference room where all out war was taking place as this unknown entity apparently ripped a hole through reality to fight half the present members of the JL who are sorta kinda losing.
Danny takes one long look, contemplates turning around and leaving, before shooting single ectoblast that launched skulker into the wall.
The room goes quiet as they stare at Danny. From pst battles they know that little attack wasn’t even a fraction of his full power but it was still enough to take down this ghost even supers was struggling with?
“Skulker,” Danny says in greeting before crossing the room, clawing his own hole into the realms and tossing the ghost in. He sighs, debates stealing Batman’s coffee, decides against it ,and then nods to the rest of his team.
“Imma go sleep for a week. Kindly don’t need me unless the government tries to send another nuke into the infinite realms or if some other Eldritch abomination threats to literally eat the earth.”
The rest watch Danny walk away, but it’s the flash who speaks up first after their youngest departed.
“I’m sorry, when exactly did the government try to nuke an alternate dimension and why were we never informed of this?”

Danny: Who are you?
Batman: Your worst nightmare.
Danny: *gasp* You're me from the future?! The me from the past?! OH NO, YOU'RE ONE OF THE VOICES THAT ESCAPED MY HEAD, ARENT YOU!?
Batman:.....no.
Danny: Oh okay.
Batman: Kid, are you okay?
Danny: Yeah, why do you ask :D ?
Batman: Where are you parents? Your house? It's too dangerous to be involved with gangs like this.
Danny: My parents are dead, my house is the streets, and I'm not involved with any gangs. I'm just squatting in the warehouse they happen to meet in, sir.
Batman: ......would you like some food? I know a man who would offer you shelter too.
Danny: you want me to follow a random stranger wearing a weird costume that I just met? Sure lead the way! :D :D
Batman mentally: This is my son now. My mentally unstable son.

Big Brother Damian
dp x dc crossover
I need more Big Brother Damian. I’m not talking about your classic “Damian is the older twin” trope—which, don’t get me wrong, I still adore—but the unlimited potential of Damian realizing he’s no longer the baby of the family.
Prompt 1: Danny is adopted. I don’t care how it happens. Maybe he’s de-aged, maybe the portal accident happens sooner, anything that results in Danny being a kiddo. I see Damian, standing in front of this baby-faced six-year-old who looks up at him adoringly like that one shot of baby Gumball.
Tumblr media
Damian’s very awkward, of course. Tense. He doesn’t do…children. Victims on patrol are different, easily passed on to the authorities, comforted with just the sight of his colors. No, this boy is looking at him the way Damian sees his brothers look at Dick when they don’t think Dick is looking. The way he probably looks at Dick. He can’t pass this one on to someone else. He’s the big brother now. What do big brothers do?
Damian hands Danny his sword, who joyfully squeals and declares Damian as his favorite. Ah, yes, Damian thinks as the rest of the family choruses “No!” in the background. This will do nicely.
Danny follows him around like a duckling, giggling at every teasing remark Dami makes at his siblings’ expense. Danny gets the Robin figurine in a Batburger kids meal, spends all morning in his bedroom (next door to Damian’s, obviously), and presents it to Dami the next day. Danny had taken the toy apart and rebuilt it with working parts, making an interactive Robin toy that walks on its own with the winding of a trigger on the back. Damian displays it proudly on his desk. Dick thinks the pair are the cutest.
Damian “trains” Danny—he calls it stealth training, but they all know it’s an excuse to play Hide and Seek (or perhaps help Danny stop relying on his powers). Despite Danny’s sweet, giggly manner, he is ruthless in their training games. Some might say it’s his ghostly instincts finally allowed to flourish in a safe, healthy, controlled environment.
When Danny is sick, Damian is by his side the entire time to soothe his fears of the medbay. When the rest of the family tries to drag him away at bedtime, he sneaks back into Danny’s room and reads him a bedtime story from a book of constellations. Danny, trusting his big brother with his life and soul, cuddles into Damian’s side. The fall asleep like that, staring at the stars on his ceiling.
The first time Damian gets mad at Danny is an oversight, which he immediately rectifies. When he got home from school, he found his door cracked open, which was the first sign of something being wrong. No one is allowed in Damian’s room without explicit permission. Then he’d entered and found several of his oil paints missing and one of his unfinished paintings splattered on the floor, drops of color dripping from a tube ruining his delicate work. Naturally, he’s furious, and doesn’t hesitate to track down every one of his older siblings to yell and accuse them of the malicious crime. Damian is unknowingly followed by an invisible little boy the entire time.
Plotting revenge after none of his siblings fess up, he stalks back to his bedroom, only to be greeting by a crying seven-year-old who just wanted to impress his big brother with a pretty painting. Damian’s upset at first, but he can’t stay mad now that he knows the truth. He sits Danny down and explains that sometimes it’s better to ask than take a risk that could end in a mess. Then he shows Danny how to use some less-expensive paints, buys him a personalized, engraved paintbrush of the highest quality, and some thick paper.
Danny makes a messy painting of the Milky Way, cute in the way of little kid drawings, and Damian bribes the Gotham Art Museum to hang it up in their wing founded by the Wayne Foundation.
Prompt 2: A reverse of the “Danny is biologically Damian’s older brother.” I’ve seen that one a few times (and enjoyed it), and even though I’ve seen the reverse trope maybe once or twice, it was usually a twin fic where Danny is de-aged or something similar with time shenanigans. I want to see Danny being biologically younger. Yes, I know that one is less commonly written because Bruce would have had to be with Talia several years after Damian’s conception, and he’d probably have some of his other children by then. Luckily, as writers, logic and reason are suggestions. Ignore the probability and embrace the artistic desire.
We can age Damian up so that Danny can be a fanonically preferred age (14-16) or keep Damian around 13 so that Danny can be a cute little kid. Imagine Damian being told when the boy is born that this child is his to mentor and look after as an older brother, only to get back from a mission one day to learn his baby brother is dead. Damian, freshly dumped on the Waynes, lashing out and refusing a relationship with the others because how can he look them in the eye and see what he never was? How can he be faced with how badly he failed as a big brother? How can he look Richard in the eyes and not remember everything he did wrong with Danny?
Maybe Damian had been mean to Danny back in the day, always knowing that Danyal was meant to be a replacement for Damian if he failed. Maybe he was harsh because he was taught love was a weakness or he didn’t want to get too close to the boy for fear of losing him. Or maybe (my personal preference), he is only ever gentle with his baby brother. In the sanctity of their bedroom, Damian allows himself to be soft and kind when holding those tiny baby hands or rubbing stolen cream over bruises. Danyal learns his compassion from his only role model in the League of Assassins, a compassion he carries with him to Amity Park and past his second death (depending on if you believe the first time was faked by Talia or himself). Damian doesn’t learn this for a very long time, always convinced that even the love he spared for his younger counterpart was not enough to save him from an assassin’s fate.
And then Danny’s back. A little worse for wear, but alive. Different than he remembers. Perhaps now Damian understands what Dick felt when Jason came back from the dead, presented with a second chance to do better. Perhaps he understands Tim a little more, suddenly no longer the baby of the family and faced with a baby brother he isn’t sure how to handle. It brings him closer to the rest of his family and warms his aching heart, finally reunited with all his loved ones in the same place.
What Damian and Danny related tropes do you want to see more of? Which dynamics are your favorites? I want to hear it all. Give me your brainrot.

Damian is de-aged to a baby and lost in Gotham. A magic user hit him with some kind of spell. His legs don’t work as well and he has trouble walking. That’s when a man appears and squats down with a tilt of his head.
“Yea, you are definitely not supposed to be out here, little guy.”
Damian glares at the man, early twenties, stubble along his jaw, ragged clothes, and dark bags under his eyes.
The man turns his head to look at the brick wall.
“Are you sure?”
And now he was talking to a wall. Curses. Of course he would be found by a crazy person.
The man suddenly hangs his head with a deep sigh. He regains himself quickly and stands. Moving closer to put his hands under Damian arms to lift him to perch on his hip.
Damian squirms to get down but refuses to make a sound. The last time he opened his mouth like this it was a pathetic baby sound. He couldn’t let this man see him like this.
“Looks like you’re coming home with me, little guy. I can tell you’ve got some spirit in you. Good, you’ll need it.”
Not ominous at all.
Damian stays with the man, mostly because he couldn’t physically drive a car, but also because he was almost always with him. The man would talk to air at the most random times. Obviously a schizophrenic. But Damian had to admit this man, Danny he comes to find out through a neighbor baby talking at him, has been genuinely trying to take care of him and take care of him well. Well, to the best of his abilities anyway.
He feeds him organic purées that don’t taste half bad, except the carrots, that one was unacceptable. Danny cleans him regularly despite his crappy apartment and makes sure he is dressed appropriately for the weather. He makes an effort to take him out to the park to play in the sandbox or just walk around discovering ‘new’ things.
Damian doesn’t need a parent, he outgrew the concept when he was five and technically he already had one, but he could tell Danny would make an excellent father. Some mistakes can be overlooked compared to the effort he was putting in.
The only concerning thing was the talking to thin air. It took Damian an embarrassing amount of time to figure out the reason Danny was visiting all these random people and the graveyard. (Sometimes he will set Damian down to ‘play’ in the grass at the cemetery. It was quite odd.)
He was talking to ghosts. It wasn’t thin air or imaginary friends, no it was actually dead people. The reason Damian actually believes this is for two reasons.
One, Danny shows true results. Damian observes closely whenever they visit a ‘client’ and Danny always has accurate information despite never looking up or researching anything going in.
Two, he never calls himself a medium or psychic. He doesn’t boast about his ability to see ghosts. He does what he does to help the ghosts move on to the other side. Closure is what Danny always says. Closure for the family and the victim. In Gotham, there are a lot of victims.
Damian adjusts to his new life with Danny. It’s been five months and he’s getting used to being small and vulnerable. He’s allowed to be messy and whiny and childish. Danny never scolds him like Mother did. The man has never hit him or raised his voice at him and never expects anything from him. He encourages his progression to speak and walk, but doesn’t expect the best out of him.
It’s… nice. A good break if anything.
They are at the park when one of the bats spot him and pauses. Danny is blowing bubbles into the air and Damian tries to pop as many as he can. It’s a silly game with no clear rules, but Damian finds it entertaining nonetheless.
“Hi there! Is he yours?”
Dick Grayson wears a bright smile, but Damian can see the tightness around his eyes.
“Huh? Oh, yea, this is Damian,” Danny answers.
He had written it with the wooden blocks Danny had given him one week in. Danny took one look at the name on the ground, laughed loudly and ran with it.
“Do you mind if I say hi? He’s so cute.”
Danny looks puzzled by the request but ends up shrugging his shoulders, not seeing a problem with letting a stranger get close to Damian. (Damian knew Danny’s intense eyes were watching Dick’s every move. He was very protective like that.)
“Sure.”
Dick squats down to search Damian’s green eyes. Damian stares back just as intensely.
“Hey there, Damian. My name is Dick.”
Damian gives him a flat look at Dick’s terrible introduction.
“Grayson.”
Although with his little baby teeth not fully in it sounds more like ‘way-shah’.
Relief flashes across Dick’s face and he gives Damian a reassuring smile. It’s not as reassuring at he thinks it is. It promises to bring him home and restore him to his original age. Damian doesn’t know if that’s what he wants anymore.
Dick stands and gives Danny some imaginary excuse to leave quickly. Damian watches him go and so does Danny.
“Funny guy, huh Dami?”
Damian doesn’t respond and Danny notices his change in mood.
“Come here, little guy.”
He knows what Danny is going to do and willingly goes. He is pulled up into the man’s lap and held between two surprisingly muscular arms. Danny’s hugs are nice and warm. They aren’t too tight like Dick’s nor are they stiff like Bruce’s. He never thought he could enjoy human contact, but Danny has been showing him things about himself he didn’t ever know. Turns out he does like hugs and playing airplane and when Danny runs his fingers through his hair when he’s really sleepy.
“Let’s go home a little early today, huh? I’ll make spaghetti and you can be as messy as you want,” Danny promises.
Damian hums. Yes, that sounds nice.
That night Batman comes in through the window. Damian is waiting.
“Damian,” Batman whispers.
“Bah-mun.”
The flat, unamused stare is what gives him away.
Batman lets out a breath silently and reaches into the crib Danny had gotten him.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”
Batman jerks into action, twisting to face Danny who had appeared suddenly. The door behind him is still closed.
Batman stays quiet, silently studying the man before him dressed in pajama pants and a worn t-shirt.
Danny tilts his head as he does the same. Damian has never seen the man so serious. He silently worries for the man. He didn’t want him getting hurt to unnecessarily protecting him from his father.
“I’d have to break your arm if you tried to do what it looks like you’re doing.”
Danny says it so plainly. So simple.
Batman straightens.
“He isn’t yours.”
He doesn’t say Damian is his. He doesn’t claim him as his own. Just that Danny shouldn’t have him.
Damian silently agrees because technically he’s right. He doesn’t deserve Danny. He can’t keep playing house like he’s an actual baby. But Damian is also selfish and over the last few months has been taught that it’s okay to ask for things he wants even if it’s not inherently beneficial. The stuffed dog he sleeps with every night is proof of that.
So Damian says nothing.
“He is now,” Danny answers simply like there was no other answer to such a statement.
“He needs to go back to where he belongs.”
“Over my dead body,” is the immediate response.
They stare each other down until Danny scoffs.
“Don’t think I’m not petty enough to fight you, Batman. I’ll fight anyone who wants to take him from me. Damian is mine.”
When Batman tries to forcibly take him, he ends up with a concussion, a blood nose, and two broken arms. Red Robin finds him in a dumpster the next morning.
The story continues with Damian learning how to be a child his age, Danny protecting him and doting on his brilliant son, and the Batfam’s frequent failed attempts to kidnap Damian back to them.

DP x DC prompt [2]
Danyal returns to league, he was sent to the Fentons for a mission and after gathering all that they know about lazarus/ecto he figured he was in an unique position. Either he revealed himself and was accepted and after that would have to do what he could to keep the league off his back. Or he'd be rejected and he could simply finish his mission and return to the league. Sadly for Danny. The second option ended up happening, and with crushing disappointment and new hardened resolve he made his way back to Nanda Parbat.
At first he's surprisingly at peace with the situation, he misses his friends and Jazz but this is sadly how it's meant to be.
Damian isn't there, he has been sent to train under their biological father. Or at least what mother says. Perhaps now that he's successfully finished his deep undercover mission he'll be allowed to know the truth and go as well.
Ra's doesn't want that, for body snatching reasons. But he doesn't know that Danny is half dead. Nobody at the league does.
It's basically the only secret Danny keeps. After having to stay quiet about it and the explosive aftermath with the Fentons it just doesn't occur to him to speak up about it anymore. After all, here he has everything to lose.
And he feels vindicated when he finds Respawn. Tied up, hanging, looking so much like him and Dami, but wounded, with damning white hair and when he opens his eyes and notices Danny it's only the green green green he sees.
In Danny's mind the league must know, they are bidding their time or... or Danny was always meant to end up like he did or this is yet another damn clone someone made of him.
None of Danny's thoughts about this are good, and it figures, he's aware of what this place is. Jazz did a good job deprogramming him. So perhaps the thought that things would be better here was laughable. But somehow, for some reason he thought blood relation meant something.
So far all parental figures are bad, the Fentons. Vlad, now Ra's and Talia. So what does that mean for his twin, what does this mean for Damian?
Well, at the very least finding out who his biological father is and where he lives isn't hard with ghost powers. Neither is freeing Respawn.
And after that all that's left to do is making sure Damian is safe.
And by the ancients, may the gods help Batman if it turns out he's not.
