So, Athena outliving Odysseus. She could perhaps immortalize him, like Diomedes. He could stand beside her, everlasting and sharp as always. She could take his soul and breathe life into him under a new guise. A bird, a tree, who knows. He could still be there. They could still walk together, a goddess and her champion. But maybe when she sees him, weathered and worn and utterly exhausted, she knows the kindest thing would be to let him go. To let him hold his family close in the underworld. And she knows that someone else would come along, another mortal with such clever eyes. But, that could take days, years, millenia. For now, she will silently grieve the man who she guided and stood beside for so long.

Can I just say. I found your art of Poseidon grabbing Odysseus by the hair, and now I ship them. I can't decide if it would be a hateship or an enemies-to-lovers type of thing, or even a mix of the two, but I can't stop thinking about them.

Especially because I think that if not for Poseidon wanting Odysseus dead after what happened with Polyphemus, they could potentially be a good team, one that combines Poseidon's ruthlessness with Ody's cunning mind.

If I have to pick, it's hateship! I think I am incapable of imagining them being lovey-dovey. 😗
