... the fact I actually did blows me away.
For years of my life I was told I was lazy, full of wasted potential - yup, you guessed it, undiagnosed Autism & ADHD that I eventually got diagnosed with twenty years after I'd left school. All my teachers knew I was bright, but my brain just wouldn't work in the direction it was told to, wouldn't settle anywhere except in my Art and English classes. It was only in those rooms my brain was given permission to ebb and flow in whatever way it felt was right.
But still.
I was told on more than one occasion I'd never amount to anything. I went to a prestigious selective all-girls grammar school, and everyone around me was a star, so clever, so talented. I just felt like a black hole.
I spent my whole life believing that.
And alright, the novel I wrote is fanfiction, but it's 222K words and 44 chapters of my whole heart and soul poured into words, into three characters, and the fact I wrote it, finished it, that people have written to me to tell me it changed their lives and taste in fiction and that it destroyed them in the best possible way absolutely blows my mind.
Because I did it. They all said I wouldn't. But I did it.
I just had to let my brain flow the way it had been told for years it wasn't supposed to.
13-year-old me, reading a book that made me cry until i couldn’t breathe: i literally cannot wait to write something like this for others one day

Rated E - A & C are both porn actors. It sounds seedy. It's not. Holy Hell, it's not. It's one of the hottest things I've ever read, but also so, so sweet and delightful.
They Drink Tea At The End by @knifeforkspooncup
Rated T - After a year spent in Heaven, A returns to C in the bookshop completely and utterly overstimulated in every sensory capacity. A wonderful, sweet story of them truly knowing each other and an excellent example of how the fandom relates to GO in so many beautiful ways.
Pay Per View by IneffableToreshi
Rated E - A lovely story set in Canada, full of our so frequently seen miscommunication between A & C. And, as the author says: "Also, why the fuck is Aziraphale watching porn in their hotel room?! And taking notes?!"
Cranking Up The Heat by @vavoom-sorted-art
Rated E - Well, the title says it all, really. And the fic's description: "The equivalent of that hot wings challenge, but with porn." Don't really want to say much more, as you've gotta see it to enjoy it.
On The Same Page by Chekhov
Rated E - A fake marriage fic with Only One Bed. A & C are both authors, but two very different ones. Excellently written with very vividly described mental struggles with internal homophobia & self loathing.
A Model Guardian by Fuuma_san
Rated E - As a former model, I found this fic really interesting. I'd genuinely love to know what the author's tie/experience in the industry is. C is a model, A is their bodyguard. An interesting tale which involves some great discussion on gender.
In The Room Where You Sleep by @mrghostrat
Rated E - Another banger by ghostrat, posted in its entirety this week. In a reversal to many other fics I've seen, A is a vampire and C is a vampire hunter. *Homer Simpson voice* With sexy results. ;)

Rated E - This wonderful fic has taught me more about physics than school ever did (mostly because I never did any physics, but...well). A & C have to share their time at an observatory because there is Only One Telescope. Not only will you learn about astrophysics, astrobiology, and astroecology, you'll also read some of the most poetically, beautifully written masturbation scenes I've ever seen. *ahem* Ch 6/13 posted this week.

Rated E - A & C meet (again?) in an acute mental health ward after both having had mental health crises. A runs a bookshop but is very much under his parents' control. C has been homeless since childhood and has struggled his entire life. They do not trust each other when they first meet, but feel strangely drawn to one another all the same. Where will this lead them? This is a passion piece for me. There is a lot of lived experience in it, and extensive research from both professionals and peers. It has been a real journey for me to write it, and as I'm coming closer to the end it's becoming very emotional for me. Ch 43/? posted this week

The case of a homeless demon and an angel who kept his cosy place
I was reading stories of women trapped in toxic marriages the other day and a lightbulb went off in my brain. A common theme was how much financial dependency contributed to their shitty situations, and pretty much every one of them advised other women to make sure they have some resources of their own, something to fall back onto.
So, Good Omens. Because obviously, all the roads in my brain lead to Good Omens.
A lot has been written about Crowley living in his car in S2 while Aziraphale still happily resides in his bookshop but I think we've all been distracted by how it factors into their relationship with each other and failed to examine what it tells us about their relationships with their respective abusers - Heaven and Hell.
Why did Crowley lose his flat and literally end up on a street? Because the flat was Hell's property. As soon as Crowley stopped being in Hell's active employment, the flat was taken from him and given to his replacement - Shax.
Why did Aziraphale keep his bookshop? Obviously not because Heaven is nicer. No, it's because the bookshop was actually his. He acquired it entirely on his own and almost entirely the human way. Heaven didn't have any obvious claim on it.
Can we please talk about it?
Can we please talk about how it's Aziraphale, supposedly the one brainwashed by Heaven into obedience, who builds himself a safety net over the centuries? And how Crowley, the one who boldly claims to be on his own side for millennia, and seems to be so independent, suddenly ends up with very little of his own as soon as his ties with Hell are (partly) severed?
Can we please talk about what it tells us about how they deal with threats and danger?

Good Omens (possibly) unpopular opinion
Do you know what is a peak irony in this fandom?
When a person vehemently condemns Aziraphale's black-and-white approach to morality and rhapsodizes how sage Crowley is for his nuanced shades-of-grey outlook when the evident reason this person sympathizes with Crowley so much more is because he and his circumstances are more black-and-white and easy to judge while Aziraphale's case is far more complex and challenging to evaluate, with blurred lines everywhere.

Ok Good Omens fandom, can I just bask in your glory for a bit? We know the lengths well all go to analysing every frame, every sound, every nuanced facial expression and because it's David and Michael we have a very rich seam to mine. Season 2 gave us so many questions. Neil's story telling has hooked us all so deeply. Is there any other tv show like this? What prompted me to post this was this gif from season 1. I'd never noticed what a tiny little smirk and chest puff Crowley/David did. He was pleased with himself. Its almost imperceptible but with hindsight, 6 years later, and after reading lots of excellent fan ficion, I am just seeing it. DT how did you know to do that??

I can't think of another tv show that inspires it's audience to dig so deeply as Good Omens.
I wonder if @neil-gaiman had any idea of the alchemy he was weaving. It really is magic. You can feel Terry's influence in every frame.
