So these cases matter. They have to matter.

Edwin having been able to deny his true feelings for Charles and his true sexuality during all the years he spent living alongside Charles, but ultimately being unable to deny either once the Cat King arrived in his life... Edwin having been in love with Charles for years, but only understanding the appeal of kissing after meeting the Cat King... Edwin having had Charles at his side for years but never having stopped experiencing his feeling of loneliness, a feeling he shares with the Cat King... Edwin voluntarily offering his second kiss (although on the cheek, that even counts) to the Cat King... Edwin smiling when the Cat King says Edwin will miss him... And some people still wonder why these two should be endgame ?!

honestly i'd dig a fic where the Cat King (after getting blitzed by esther and reforming as a new cat) goes limping and pathetic to find Edwin only for Edwin not to recognize him in his new Cat appearance and who proceeds to take care of and exasperatedly fawn over this quiet new companion.

Charles and the New Cat have an inexplicable vendetta no one else in the office understands, Niko is obsessed with dressing the cat up, Crystal just wants the thing to stop shredding and shedding on her clothes. Edwin likes the way the cat purrs softly against his chest late at night when the others have gone to rest. He talks to it about everything and anything, and CK (now pretty well trapped in his sort of accidentalish ruse) has to figure out a way to come clean without totally fucking up whatever tentative thing he's managed to cobble together with his favorite Dead Boy.

I've been going through a major art and writer's block recently, but I've really wanted to make my own DBD oc so I doodled them yesterday.

I've actually had this character since I was like 10???? but I've never really come up with anything substantial for her until I decided to insert her into this universe. XD

Her name is Chase, not an impressive name I know but it's been their name the better part of 15 years so idk what I'd even change it to. I may post her lore if anyone is actually interested, but yeah...

I'm trying to write a post about tick safety and avoiding tick bites, but a lot of the info on websites is like "Avoid going in the woods, in plants, and where there are wild animals" and "Activities like hiking and gardening can put you at risk" and I'm like thanks! This is worthless!

As ticks and tick borne illnesses are expanding their range, I think it's important for people to be educated about these things, and I think it's especially important to give people actual advice on how to protect themselves instead of telling them to just...avoid the natural world

Rough draft version of Tick Advice:

Ticks don't jump down on you from trees, they get on you when you brush against grass, brush, bushes etc.

Ticks get brought to an area when they get done feeding from an animal and fall off them. In the USA, the main tick-bringing animal is deer, but I've seen plenty ticks on feral cats and songbirds.

Ticks get killed when they dry out so drier areas with more sunlight are less favorable to ticks.

The above is useful for figuring out whether an area is likely to have lots of ticks, and how vigilant you have to be in that area.

Wear light-colored, long pants outside. Tuck your pants into your socks, and tuck your shirt into the waist of your pants. Invest in light, breathable fabrics idc

IMMEDIATELY change out of your outside clothes when you come back from a tick-prone area, wash them, and dry them on high heat to kill any ticks that might be stuck on.

Shower and check yourself for ticks after coming inside. Hair, armpits, and nether regions in particular. You can use a handheld mirror or rely on touch; an attached tick will feel like a bump kinda like a scab

While you're outside, you can just periodically check for ticks by running your hands down your legs and checking visually to see if anything is crawling on your clothes. Light colors make them easy to spot, and they don't move fast.

Combing through each others' hair to check for creepy crawly critters is a time-honored primate ritual and is not weird. When hiking, bring a friend who will have your back when you feel something on your neck and need to know if it's sweat or a tick

If you're careful, you can usually catch ticks before they bite you, but if one does bite you, it's not the end of the world. Since tickborne diseases are different regionally i suspect this advice will differ based on where you are, but the important thing is remove the tick with tweezers (DON'T use butter, a lit match, or anything that kills the tick while it's still attached, please) and contact a doctor to see what to watch for. Most illnesses you can catch from ticks are easily treatable if you recognize them when symptoms first appear

Please tell me why the Head Boss Lady, the one over the Night Nurse says this to Edwin and Charles at the end. And it's literally the exact same thing Tragic Mick tells Niko when he gives her the lucky charm... Then it pans over to show the sprites and Niko (not dead?) holding the bear in a gloved hand. Like???? I know they've gotta be related somehow right? Not to mention how smart Niko was and was able to use the Night Nurse's own book of rules against her... Idk I just can't stop thinking about it...

The episode where they're going through potential new cases, but the Cat king shows up.

Edwin: "Cat king... Do you, too, have a case you need us to solve?"

CK: "What? Oh no I just missed your pretty ghost face.~"

Edwin is about to tell him to leave when Niko pipes up.

Niko: "Edwin! You didn't tell me he was so cute!"

Edwin: whips his head towards Niko "Yes I did! I specifically remember-" he immediately clasps a hand over his mouth. What was he about to admit in front of everyone. All eyes are on him now, but Niko can't read the room and barrels on.

Niko: No you didn't tell me he was cute, you said and I quote "He has a body that could rival Adonis and eyes that were like a caging spell all of their own-"

Edwin: "Yes, thank you, Niko, you have a great memory! Now we must really get back to case work, right Charles?"

But Charles is making the most disgusted faces while looking between The Cat King and his best friend, like that was really too much information.

The Cat King, however has the absolute biggest grin on his face.

Edwin will not be living this down anytime soon...
