Does Veneer have asthma or does something specific cause his breathing attacks and sickness??
â¤ď¸:D
Haii pookie!
So hereâs what his records say:
His sickness is what causing his breathing attacks. It affects everything in his body especially his lungs and heart. One minute he can be fine, the next minute, heâs having a breathing attack. Heâs never had it bad until one day Velver found him in his room hardly breathing. Thatâs when they figured he needed to being caring a treatment with him.
He also had a heart transplant when he was four years old. This sickness is unknown, itâs not cancer nor does it have a relation to it. This is something entirely new.
Funny thing is, it comes and goes. Thereâs a year when he can be fine and another where heâs horrible. The more it returns though, the more vigerous it attacks.

A request inspired by and written for @chloe2378559 and her idea of the twins having a younger sibling in Under Rageous. Enjoy!
Ever since their parentâs death, the twins together have raised their younger sister, Veera.
Things are getting harder in the under-city. Veera decides to take it amongst herself to try and help her two older siblings⌠but life is harder than it seems.
Her siblings were out.
Their rations were running low, so Velvet and Veneer had to both look for work in the Pit. Before they left, Veera could see the tiredness in their eyes⌠Things were getting harder in Under Rageous. More demands were forced to be met, leaving the people of Under Rageous hardly anything. If you didnât pay your duesâŚwellâŚdonât bother looking forward to seeing the next day.
âMe and Vennie will be right back. You stay here Veera. You have no business needing to go out. Do. You. Hear. Me!â Velvet stated firmly. The twins were seventeen, Veera was eleven. When their parents died, she was only two. By the time they were able to escape their wicked aunt after she laid a hands on Veneer, she was three. They spent their days in the orphanage for some time, but they were to be adopted separately, no one breaks them apartâŚso they ranâŚthey met a group of other runaways that let them inâŚbut like anything else, for them to stay, they had to pay their dues.
âYes, yes Iâll stay hereâŚ.JustâŚPlease come backâŚâ Veera ran to her older siblings taking them in an embrace. Veneer being the more sympathetic one hugged her back, Velvet just patted her on the headâŚVeera knew her sister loved her.
âPromises?â Veneer extended his pinky.
âPromises.â Veera wrapped hers around his. With a loud sigh Velvet did the same.
âYeah, yeah. Okay Ven letâs go! Before all the good jobs are taken up.â
With that they were out the door. Veera spent her day like she always would; she wrapped herself in her giant blanket and waited by the door for the twins come back. Sheâd make sure sheâd count every second, every minute, so she knew if she had to go out and look for them.
Veneer and Velvet were identical in looks: pale skin, bright blue eyes, bright, green hairâŚthey looked like their mother. Veera looked more like their father: her hair was a darker shade of green, pine green, and her eyes were a dark Egyptian blue. Like her siblings, she had the same pale skin. Veeras hair was short, up to her shoulders. âJust like momâ, Veneer would say.
As the clock ticked she grew more anxious. Normally only one would leave, one would go to the Pit and one would stay with her. She wouldnât be alone with these anxious thoughts and feelingsâŚsheâd always have someone with her. Was it always to be like this now? Would they both have to disappear? If they had enough rations, enough bitz, then no they wouldnât. Veera wanted to help, she had to help in some way.
âOh!â She got an idea. Veera went to the small closet they shared and rummaged through. âGot it!â It was a trap Veneer made a while agoâŚa Troll trap. Trolls sell for good bitz down at the Black Market. Veneer never had the heart to put it in use, but Veera had to, to help all of them. Grabbing the trap, she strung her satchel across her shoulder. She knows she promised, but this was to help them, to help her siblingsâŚ. She headed out to the world of Under Rageous.
Veera avoided the darker and more dangerous streets and alleys of Under Rageous⌠Her and Velvet would only venture there if Veneer was with them. Despite him looking scrawny, when his sisterâs were in danger, he was able to put up a fight, and some of the underground gangs already knew. She quietly made her way to the area where Trolls were known to roam around. When she got there, she saw it was overtaken by Under Rageous thugs.
âCrap.â She whispered to herself. They had claimed this territory, she had to go look elsewhere. Veera turned back around. Troll sightings were rare, but not unheard of. A lot of the Trolls that were brought in were from the âouter worldâ, those that roamed the city were escaped Trolls that had broken free. Veera stopped at the corner of the buildingâŚshe had to think, she HAD to catch a Troll. She stared at the lamp post above her, the light flickering on and offâŚ. She had an idea, but she really didnât know if it would workâŚit was dangerous too, but she needed to help her siblings.
Veera turned back around and headed to the far south of Under Rageous. Most of the area was abandoned after a factory went out and caused some sort of radiation around the surrounding area, or so they thought. Veera made it to the gates that surrounded all of Under Rageous, a giant wall that enclosed the city from the outer worldâŚbut Veera had found a weak point, a small opening that was caused by the explosion of the factory. She had discovered it years ago. She removed debris she used to cover the small opening so no one else would find it. One more peak around her surroundingsâŚand she was out.
The only Rageons to leave Under Rageous were those who picked up jobs from the Pit to go to the Rageous Woods or the Hunters that were sent out to hunt Troll and other creatures beneficial to their livingâŚ.Today, Veera made her way towards the woods itself. She didnât plan on going far in, she just wanted to go far enough to see if there happened to be a Troll in the area to catch and sell. The woods were barren, all stripped down by Rageons for the valuable resources it had. The wildlife inside was dangerous, mutated by the radiation of the wastes left behind by both Mount Rageous and Under Rageous.
âI got this. I got this. One little Troll and thatâs it.â She murmured to herself. Veera gave Veneerâs trap a once over; people really underestimated him, between her and her sister, he was tech savvy. Making this trap from scratch, he includes a small little net launcher to be able to catch a Troll if it was running away. She wondered what he would think of her if he knew she was doing this, once he finds out what she did.
SWOOSH!
Veera heard the rustling of leaves, the bushes shaking with movement that had just gone by. She froze, she listenedâŚShe knew it wasnât a Rageon or anything bigâŚyet at least. Veera readied the trap. Would she get lucky?
SWOOSH!
She heard it again. Her nerves set in and her body began to shakeâŚperhaps this wasnât a good idea after all, âVels..VenâŚplease come back.â She whispered hoping that her siblings would magically appearâŚ.
SWOOSH! THUD!
Something small landed in front of her. She crept closer and close, the small little creature didnât see to notice her. Veera got closerâŚ.A Troll!
The small little creature held his head in a daze, little groans escaping his body.
âOwâŚI misjudged the distance.â He said. He had what seemed like dark pinkish faded hair. She could see that his colors were faded. Was he sick? Would this be acceptable for the Black Market? The Troll heard Veeraâs footsteps. He turned to face her, but he didnât seem afraid, rather curiousâŚconcerned even.
âYouâreâŚ.Youâre a kid arenât you?â He asked. He stood to his feet and walked to Veera. She could see why Veneer was against thisâŚthey were quite cute. âAre you alone? Where are your parents?â The little Trolls checked his surroundings, âWhere am I?â
Veera continued to remain silentâŚshe was calculating her moves. She didnât know what to do. She was finally face to face with a Troll, a little creature that would gain them a good amount of bitz in the Black Market, yet, she didnât have the heart to catch himâŚbut she had too..
âAre you okay?â The Troll seemed to notice her distant look. âIâm not sure maybe you havenât seen one of me before. Iâm a Troll. My name is Floyd. I know youâre a Rageon. Iâve heard of your kind before. Just never really seen one up close. You guys are bigger than I- AHHHH!â Veera snatched the Troll in mid-sentence.
âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry. Iâm sorry.â She repeated as she placed him into the trap.
âHey!â He cried out as his little fists banged against the trap.
âIâm sorry! But me and my siblings need the money.â She said. Before the little Troll could say anything else, the sound of voices were heardâŚ
âA Troll? In the woods. Youâre crazy man.â Rageons. If they saw Veera with the Troll, she was done forâŚ.so she ranâŚshe didnât see which direction she headed, but out of fear, she just ran and ran. Her breaths grew heavy as the fear grew in her body. This wasnât the way she cameâŚ
Veera circle back around, holding the trap and Troll close to her chest. Nothing but trees continued to surround her. Tears began falling down her faceâŚshe was lost.
âOh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh noâŚâ She repeated to herself. Veera fell on her knees, crying in desperation.
âHey. Itâs okay. Listen, let me out and Iâll help you find a way out.â Floyd told her, âI promise I wont runâŚIâm not going to do that anymore.â
âNo! I donât trust you. I need you to bring money for me and my siblings.â
âWell you canât bring anything if youâre lost and canât find your way back.â He repliedâŚ.He was right, but she wasnât going to risk anything. She finally had a Troll in hand, she wasnât going to let it go. Veera was going to try one more time. She stood to her feet and began to head back again⌠her foot stepped on somethingâŚ.
PING!
Veera was taken up in a netted trap, her squeal echoed through the Rageous woods. âHey!!â She cried out, âSomeone! Help! Please get me down!!â She thrashed and thrashed inside the netting, but it wouldnât budge or break⌠she was stuck.
âPlease let me out so I can help you!â Floyd told her from inside the trap.
She had her sisterâs stubbornness, âNo!â She replied. Veera continued to thrash, move, and kick, hoping something would give and cause the net to breakâŚ
âVeera!â She heard a familiar voice call from below. She looked down to see Velvet staring at her wide eyed. âWhat the hell!!!â She yelled.
SNAP!
The netting was cut loose and Veera tumbled to the ground. Before she knew it she was surrounded by both her siblings, she hugged them tightly.
âWhy are you out here? You promised you would stay back!â Veneer said.
âI know⌠I know.. but..â
âThen why are you out here!â Velvet demanded again.
âIâŚIâŚâ Both her older siblings stared down at her, waiting for an explanation. She brought the trap out for them to see.
âA Troll!â They both gasped. The little Troll began to grow afraid as more Rageon surrounded him. Veneer frowned, this isnât what he wanted.
âYou know how much this will earn usâŚâ Velvet said.
âI know. I had to help. I had to. You guys seemed so tired. And I hate having both of you gone!â Veera exclaimed. Veneer was still silent. âVennie?â
Before he could respond, more Under Rageons appeared behind them. They scowled at the sight of the broken trap, they eyed the three siblings who stood by it, Veneer with the knife in hand.
âYou broke it!â A male Rageon yelled..
âI-IâŚ. My sister⌠she got caught in it. I had to.â Veneer said. Velvet grabbed Veera and hid her behind her.
âWhy the hell is a kid out here in the first place!â He yelled again. His gang began to encircle the siblings. Veera did her best to hide Floyd inside the trap⌠if anyone else saw, theyâd kill for the TrollâŚ
âShe⌠sheâŚâ Veneer couldnât find the right words.
âThis means you owe me bitz asshole!â The male Ragson came up and shoved Veneer to the ground.
âHey!â Velvet kicked the Rageon in the groin, causing to fall to his knees.
âVelvet! No!â Veneer whispered harshly. These guys werenât understanding, they werenât compassionate⌠Everyone had their eye on Velvet, especially the guys⌠Veera was no exception, Veneer knew what they would do to them if they werenât careful.
âSlut! He grimaced in between teeth.
âLeave him alone!â Velvet snarled back.
A wicked grin came across his face, âBoys, looks were all going to have a good time tonight.â
Another male Rageon came and grabbed Velvet by her wrist. Veera screamed hitting the Rageon on his arm, he shoved her to the ground. She still managed to cover the Troll.
âVels!â She cried as they attempted to pull her away.
âFine! This just means you idiots are too afraid to deal with me then?â Veneer called after themâŚ. They paused. He turned around to eye Veneer.
âWhat?â
âTake the girl so you donât have to deal with the brother. Real macho move.â Veneer stood to his feet eying down the male Rageon. Veera watched in horror, what was he doing?
âIâm not afraid.â
âThen why take her? She wasnât the one who messed up your trap. All because she kicked you? You really canât handle a kick? I guess I can handle more than that, which means you canât handle me- OOF!â The Rageon landed a punch square on Veneers jaw.
âVennie!â Veera attempted to run to her brother was but was held back by another Rageon.
âReally? That actually wasnât that bad. I guess I see why youâd rather take advantage of girls rather thanâŚâ
SMACK!
Another hit.
SMACK!
Another.
Velvet attempted to break herself free, yelling for them to leave him alone.
âEscort the girls to the entrance. Leave him to me.â He smirked down at Veneer, groaning in pain. Velvet and Veera fought hard to run to their brother, but the male Rageons were stronger. Veera turned to meet Veneers eyes. Donât fight it, his eyes told her. As the girls were taken away, the male Rageon kneeled down, dark, spiraled eyes meeting Veneers bright blue ones.
âIâm gonna give you the beating of your life time. But next time, your sister is mine.â
Velvet and Veera were tossed at the entrance. Velvet attempted to run back towards the gates as they closed.
âLet us back!â She cried banging the gates. Veera hugged her knees, her mind racing with the images of what they were doing to her brother⌠and it was her faultâŚ. It was all her fault. She buried her face in her knees and cried.
âHey. Hey, itâs okay.â She heard the Troll say from the trap. He was impressed how the boy protected his sisters⌠he had done more to be a good brother than Floyd had ever done.
âTheyâre hurting him. Theyâre hurting him.â Veera cried.
âMORONS!â Velvet yelled to the sky. She turned to see Veera. Velvet went and sat next to her sister, putting one arm around her.
âThe hell Veera! Please just listen when we tell you something.â A concern in her voice.
âI just wanted to helpâŚâ
âBut there are cruel idiots out there! Sick, cruel, bastards.â She turned to stare at the gates, hoping Veneer would walk in any minute. Veera turned to grab the trap that still held Floyd. She looked at himâŚ. All for this TrollâŚ. She had seen Veneers face when he saw the TrollâŚregret. How could she do this to her brother while he was getting beaten for them?
The sound of the gates opened echoes through the area. Velvet and Veera quickly got to their feet. In walked two male Rageons dragging Veneer in between them. They tossed him round the floor..
âNext time watch it. All of you.â The male Rageons retreated.
The girls rushed over to their brother. His face was bruised, cuts marked his lip and eye, he attempted to catch his breath through the pain that seemed his body.
âVennie!â They said in unison as they embraced their brother.
âOw.â He mumbled.
âIâm sorry Vennie. Iâm so sorry! I didnât know⌠I didnât mean too!â Veera cried as she buried her face into his chest.
ââŚ.just⌠listen next timeâŚ.pleaseâŚâ He said in a soft voice. One eye was beginning to swell shut.
âWe need to get you a first aid Ven! Come on. Stand please.â Velvet pleaded.
âCanâtâŚ. HurtingâŚ. Give me a moment.â He said in between ragged breaths. His sisters noddedâŚ. The three of them stood there⌠alone. Veera turned and opened the trap, she shook the little Troll free.
â⌠Iâm sorryâŚI shouldâve listenedâŚ. All this happens because of me.â She said. Floyd stared at the three siblings holding each other. The boy was in bad shape, he was greatly injured.
âWell shoo! Leave us alone before we get into more trouble for them seeing you.â Velvet spat. She was angry⌠her brother was hurt and beaten, and there was nothing she could do⌠she felt helpless.
Floyd stared at them. He the turned to see the world behind him. He could leave now, he could escape, he saw an opening big enough for him to fitâŚ.but his heart was telling him something else. Floyd looked at the siblings again⌠a memory filling his mind⌠a memory of his own brothersâŚ. Branch.
Veneer lay in between his sisters as they held him, attempting to sooth him. The sound of small footsteps caught their attention, they looked down to see the Troll approach them.
âIâm Floyd for the two of you that donât know⌠please, I want to help you .â

Why is it always Veneer? :( mom said itâs Velvetâs turn with the angst
(I love your work, donât stop â¤ď¸â¤ď¸)
Heâs my angst! Iâm sorry! Lol I have done some Velvet ones, but if you really want another one đ (and Ty so much! You have no idea how much I appreciate it! â¤ď¸):
TRIGGER WARNING âźď¸ GUN SHOT REFERENCE
Floyd was surrounded by his brothers, the fear of nearly loosing him cause them all to embrace. Velvet and Veneer were on their knees, still trying to regain themselves as the blast from the exploding diamond had knocked them off.
âVel?â He laid on his sisterâs shoulder, âYou okay?â
Velvetâs eyes were glued to the ground. She looked towards the Trolls as they celebrated their victory: they freed Floyd, they regained their brother back. That only meant one thingâŚ.The twins failed.
âTheyâre going to made Ven. Really mad.â She said to him. âWe lost. We lost, Ven.â
âNo we didnât. We canâŚ.we can still escape this.â Veneer told her.
âHow? How on earth are we going to escape this.â She told him. Veneer was silent. She was rightâŚthey wouldnât be happy that the Troll had escaped themâŚbut Veneer didnât want to catch him again either, he didnât want to put him the hell he just escaped. Floyd saw the look of concern on the twins face. He broke free of his brothers and went towards them.
âFloyd!â Branched called out. But Floyd continued until he was face to face with the twins. He looked up at them and they looked down at him.
âWe can be free. You guys can come with me.â He told them. Veneer turned to look at his sisterâŚHer look was distant, every event that could possibly happen unfolding in her mind. What could she say? What could she do? Everything was screwed up already, the promise she made to them was already brokenâŚit was only matter of time.
âWhat if you loose the Troll? What if everything we worked for comes to light? What is your collateral?â They had asked her. Velvet sat in the room, six faces surrounding her, eyeing her every move. She was silent, she was from the under-city, what could she offer them in collateral? She looked down at the bracelet on her wristâŚ.a beautiful pink jeweled bracelet Veneer had gotten her. It was made from one of the most precious stones in Rageous, one of the rarest too. It was one of the most valuable things sheâs ever owned. Velvet took it off and offered it to them.
âThis is all I have of value.â
âRare gems are definitely valuable, but not valuable enough.â Said a male Rageon. One shifted in her seat and stood up, staring down intently at VelvetâŚ.they came to know her as The Mistress.
âHow about your brother?â She said with a sly smile on her face.
Velvetâs mouth gaped open, âWh-WhatâŚâ
âYour brother. If you fail, if anything we are doing is exposed, we keep your brother and do our bidding on him. That is our agreement for collateral.â She said with a twisted evil grin. Vennie? They wanted VennieâŚThey knewâŚ.They knew her weakness.
âWhat ifâŚwhat if I refuse?â
âThen you two are as good as dead.â
Velvet swallowed the lump in her throat. What had she gotten them into? How could she protect Veneer from this? What could possibly catch their attention other than her brother for collateral?âŚ.
âWhat about me?â Velvet finally answered. This caught all their attention, âIâm the one that agree and came to you for this offer, not my brother. I give you myself as collateral. If I failâŚthenâŚIâm as good as yours, do what you want with me, but leave my brother alone.â
âContinue.â
âMy life as collateral, and exchange that you spare my brother. HeâŚhe doesnât know about this, what I am doing. I just want to bring him out of the under-city. I just want to get out of that hell hole.â Velvet looked them all square in the eye, âIâm gambling with my life here.â
âI like this girl. Very well. We acceptâŚBut donât you dare cross us. More over, donât you dare fail us.â The Mistress said.
âTrust me, I wont.â
And here she was, kneeling at the foot of the yacht, the Troll free from her grasp, all of Rageous watching as the events unfoldedâŚshe failed.
âWhat if I told them it was me?â Her brotherâs voice broke her trance.
âWhat?â
âWhat if I came out publicly saying this was my plan. It was all me. I go to jail and youâd be okay.â
âAre you crazy Veneer? No!â
âIt could workâŚâ
âNo Veneer! It wont!â She yelled.
âThen how can we help you? How can we get both of you out of this? We canât just leave now.â Floyd asked. âI made a promise to get both of you out. And I still intend to keep that promise today.â
They didnât understandâŚshe never told them what she promised that day. They could be coming for her any minute, their eyes were everywhere, their ears, their spies, âTake Vennie. Take care of him. Iâll have to figure things out.â She said.
âWhat are you talking about?â Veneer asked her, a frustration growing in his voice. âWhat is it that you havenât told us? That you havenât told ME, Vels?â She looked at her brother, she saw the worry plastered across his faceâŚ.it had always been them two. How could she do this to him? She never wanted to imagine life without her brother. He was that constant thing in her life that she just knew she HAD to have, like breathing air. But she never thought about him, how it would break him if she was the one that wasnât aroundâŚHe was so fragile.
âI canât VeneerâŚâ She said.
âVels, tell me please!â He begged. As he grew worried his eyes danced around their surroundings, scanning the audienceâŚWhat was she afraid of, were they here?
âVelvet, I swore to take care of both you. I am going to keep that promise.â Floyd said.
âYou canât FloydâŚYou canât protect us both.â She said.
âVelsâŚâ Veneer began to protest.
âVeneer you have to just listen to me for once! YouâŚâ
BANG!
The sounded of the shot echoed throughout the entire area. People screamed and ran, some dropped to the floor covering their heads, trembling in fear. Veneer had jumped over his sister, shielding her from the sound they heard, he instinctively grabbed Floyd and held him close. They waited a few moments⌠Silence finally radiated everywhere.
âYou okay?â Veneer asked Floyd.
âYeah. You?â
âIâm fine. Vels?â He looked down at his sister. She looked up to meet his eyes, her hands clutching her heartâŚThatâs when Veneer saw the blood seeping through her fingers. âNoâŚNoâŚNoâŚNOâŚâ Veneer muttered as she fell limp to her said. He caught her, cradling her in his arms. âVels! Youâre going to be okay. Youâre going to be okay.â He reassured herâŚin reality, he was reassuring himself.
Floyd stared in horror at the sight in front him. He hoped down at Velvets shoulder pad, he could feel that her breathing was heavy, her body began to shake. He placed a small hand on her cheek. âStay with us..â He whispered.
âI told you thereâs no escaping themâŚâ She said through ragged breaths.
âThis was themâŚYou knew they were going to do thisâŚWhy didnât you tell meâŚâ Tears began to fall down Veneerâs cheek as he held his sister tighter.
âCause i know you, you idiotâŚâ
âNo. No this isnât fair! Iâm going to help. Iâm going to save you. Hold on. Hold on for meâŚ.please.â He begged.
ââŚYou werenât their targetâŚYou can still get outâŚLeave with FloydâŚPlease, leave with FloydâŚ.Get outâŚâ Her sentences grow shorter and breathier as she struggled to breath, as she struggled to find the strength to speak.
âOkay I will. But youâre coming too.â Veneer squeezed her.
âVenâŚâ
âNo. YOUâRE COMING WITH MEâŚ..I canâtâŚI canât continue on without youâŚâ He told her. This broke her, she had never prepared him for this. He had become so reliant in her presence, that she was always going to be there for him, he never thought of the day she wouldnât beâŚalso because he was willing to sacrifice himself for her at any momentâŚbut the roles were reversed. If they had their way, it would be Veneer in this position, and just imagine it tore her apart. He needed to live, he deserved to live, he needed to continue his goodness in this broken, damned world.
âVenâŚâ She said in a whisper, âVenâŚ.YouâŚ.IâŚ.â Her eyes grew distant, her hand went limp, her breathing had stoppedâŚshe was gone.
âVels?â Veneer gently shook his sister in his arms, âVels?â He hugged her tight and shook her again. âVels..no pleaseâŚpleaseâŚplease noâŚâ His tears escaped him. He sobbed uncontrollably as he held on to his sister, he birdied his face at the top of her head. His cries and wails echoed throughout Rageous. Floyd attempted to hold back tearsâŚbut he failed. He hugged her cheek, the feeling of her skin beginning to grow cold.
âI failed youâŚVelvet, Iâm sorryâŚI failed youâŚâ The small Troll said in between tears. The two of them stayed for what seemed like ages holding on tight to her. No one dared call security yet, no dared called the medics. Floyd looked at Veneer through tear filled eyesâŚ
âVenâŚYou have to come with me, while you canâŚplease.â He told him.
âI canâtâŚ.I canât leave herâŚâ He sobbed. âI donât âŚ.want toâŚ.leave her.â
âVenâŚI donât want to either..but..â
âPleaseâŚâ He sobbed. âJust let me hold one last timeâŚâ His heart ached. Why did this happen to her? Why her? Why not him? What did she promise them? Soon the tears began to fade as a new emotion settled in his heart⌠the sadness was soon replaced with rage⌠with angerâŚHis breathing grew heavy as he allowed his anger to fuel him.
One day, he was going to find themâŚ. And one day, they were all going to payâŚ

Yo what would the currency in Mount Rageous be called? Asking for a friend :)
Haii pookie!
Ooohh Mount Rageous currency! Good question. Letâs see now *flips through Rageous records*
The currency in both Mount Rageous and Under Rageous would be referred to as bitz (inspired by bitcoin). Rageous does not use physical currency, everything is in the form of cryptocurrency. As you can see, Rageous is far ahead of its time compared to the outside world.
Rageons have developed a system in which, at a certain, age a small diamond-like barcode is embedded within the wrist. This is how Rageons pay or exchange money. Phones can be used and other technological devices, but the wrist code is far more popular and beneficial, not mention it looks pretty cool. Rageons do not use credit cards, thatâs so last century.

How many asks do you get a day? And do you ever feel burnt out from having to think about fics to write?
Haii!
I honestly donât think I get much asks? Lol the most two a day. Most requests come from my inboxes on here, tiktok, or discord :3
Tbh I feel more burnt out when I overwork myself rather than thinking about fics to write. My mind is like a movie, so ideas are always churning lol but I definitely need to remind myself to pause and take a breather every now and then. Thankfully, everyone is understanding when it takes me awhile to post a fic or request â¤ď¸

["The Set Up"]
If Floyd were in Veneer's shoulder pad instead of JD and Veneer never needed to take a troll's talent to sing, I bet he'd have Crimp disable the built-in vaccum so the button doesn't work when he presses it. Before and during the Rage Dome show, he'd probably be trying to figure out how to free the trolls.
Bruce, being a dad himself and having witnessed the whole thing from Veneer's other shoulder pad, would figure out Floyd's relation to Veneer pretty fast.
Can you imagine Floyd attempting to fend off Ruff and Gruff and going like, "GET AWAY FROM MY SON!!"?
You just keep giving me the best ideas! And I love that! Ty so much! â¤ď¸ Veneer would definitely have Crimp do that! But tbh I canon Veneer to be a little tech savvy himself (an HC keep forgetting to post). After getting the shoulder pads, Veneer would tinker with them, being able to disable the himself. Floyd would trust Veneer and hop on back in the diamond. Bruce on the other hand is hesitant, he trusts his brother. Vennie is determined to help him get their brothers back along with freeing his sister⌠up until the events of the Rage Dome show here the following events take place:
The Set Up (Alternate Version)

âHow can we trust that this works?â Bruce asks as he was placed back in his diamond and onto the shoulder pad. He hesitantly looked up Veneer, then to Floyd opposite him.
âItâs going to work. Trust me, and I trust Ven.â The small Troll looked up and smiled at the Rageon. Veneer gave him a small grin, but was then over shadowed by sorrow. âHey, whatâs wrong?â
ââŚYou shouldâve gotten out while you could..â Veneer whispered.
âNot again. Not without you or your sister. I am NOT going to make that same mistake again.â Floyd told him. Bruce watched the interaction between the twoâŚsomething began to feel familiarâŚ.His thoughts were cut short as the door to the dressing bursted open.
âTime to go.â Ruff declared. Veneer swallowed the lump in his throat as he stood up. The Bergen escorted him out and to the black limo waiting for them to take them to the Rage Dome show.
Veneer was silent the entire way. He could hear Velvet talking excitedly, but her voice was muffledâŚAll he could think about was how could he break Floyds brothers free, how could he escape this mess with his sisterâŚalive. Out of the corner of his eye he looked at Mistress. She was way deep into her phone to notice anythingâŚ
âVeeenn? Hello, Earth to Veneer!â His sisterâs voice finally caught his attention.
âWhat?â
âWere you even listening to a word I was saying?â
âUhâŚ.â
âNever mind. Letâs just go out there and kill this!â She exclaimed as the vehicle pulled up to the red carpet.
The moments that followed were all a blur to Veneer. Smile, let them think you love them, Mistress said before they stepped out. As if in a trance, the twins walked down the red carpet waving and smile, they signed autographs, blow kisses to their adoring fans. They stopped for a quick interview. This isnât real, Veneer continued to think to himselfâŚnone of it. The way they got here, it wasnât real, it was fakeâŚthey were fraudsâŚand they had to get out. But he had to play it smartâŚif he didnât, it wouldnât only be him that Mistress would kill, it would also be his sister.
They made their way through the entrance and towards the entrance of the stage where they were to perform. They were placed on two separate platforms that were to rise center stage.
âReady?â Velvet asked as they touched up her last makeup.
âReady.â Veneer smiled to her holding out his pinky. She wrapped hers around his tightlyâŚ.Something they had come up with since they were younger.
âPromises.â
âPromises.â
Bruce glanced around the exteriorâŚa realization hit him. He banged on the diamond with his tiny fists attempting to get Floyd and Veneerâs attention. âGuys! I over heard something that vile woman said. She said about marketing something look like an accident.â
âWhat.â Floyd stated.
âKid! You have tooâŚâ He was cut short as the lights went black and music began playing in the back ground.
âTroll time.â Velvet clicked the center button. It absorbed the essence of the Trolls that were in her diamonds. She radiated with a light, her glowing a pink pigmentation that Veneer hadnât seen beforeâŚa fear began striking him. He did the sameâŚbut Floyd and Bruce only pretended they were being hurtâŚWhat Veneer did to the shoulder pads worked, their essence wasnât absorbed.
The platforms began to rise.
âHELLO MOUNT RAGEOUS!â Velvet screamed into her mic. The chants and screams of the crowds were muffled to Veneerâs earsâŚa nervousness began to settle over himâŚhe had never felt this way at a performance beforeâŚdid the essence really do that?
âYou have to do it. You have the talent in you, VennieâŚIâve seen it. You can do it.â Floyd reassured him. The Rageon nodded and joined his sister in the melody of the song. It was soft at first, but his voice grew as his confidence did. He held back though, he didnât want to over power his sisterâŚhe knew thatâs what Mistress didnât want. Bruce stared at Floyd who smiled up at Veneer as he sangâŚa smile like a proud fatherâŚthe realization his BruceâŚThatâs when unfamiliar sounds began to emerge from under them. The platform Veneer was on began to rattle and shake. The Rageon looked down, his heartbeat began to quicken.
âWhat theâŚâ He murmured as the sounds continued to rumble from within the platform. âVels?â He turned to call out to his sister. She heard the sounds herself.
âVen?â She said.
SNAP! Just then the platform broke in half. Velvet screamed her brotherâs name as she reached out to grab him, but she only touched the hem of his frilled sleeve. She screamed as she watched her brother tumble towards the ground, the debris of the platform following after. Velvet attempted to press a panic button hidden with the platform to try and lower itâŚ.but it stayed risen. The screams and cries of the audience echoed through the auditorium as they witness what happened. They began to flee and run out in horror.
âSOMEONE! HELP! PLEASE HELP ME BROTHER!â She cried from the risen platform. Oh god, please okay, she thought as tears stung her eyes.
It took a moment for the dust to clear. Floyd and Bruce stirred inside their diamond. They were dizzy, but they were unharmed. They looked at the fallen debris around themâŚit seemed as if the entire Rage Dome had fallen, but it was just everything that was left over of the platform.
âVen?âŚVEN!â Floyd called out. He peeked through his diamond. Veneer lay face up, one arm sprawled out on his side, the other resting on his stomach, he breathing was ragged and heavy, blood coming from his nose and mouth. âVen. Answer me please!â Floyd cried.
ââŚ.I canâtâŚ.I canât feel my legsâŚâ His voice was almost a whisper. The Trolls looked to see that some of the debris had fallen on his legs, ââŚ.it hurtsâŚit hurts so badâŚâ Veneer attempted to take a deep breath, but that even stung his lungsâŚhe coughed out blood.
âOh god. NoâŚnoâŚnoâŚno!â Floyd panicked as he banged against the diamond, attempting to break it. âIâm here Ven! Itâs okay Iâm here!â
âFloyd.â Bruce attempted to call out to his brotherâŚhe knew the feelingâŚthe feeling of seeing your child hurtâŚHe felt himself be lifted. Through pain, Veneer reached over and took out each diamondâŚhe released the Trolls. His arms fell limp again on his side as the pain shot through. Floyd ran over to him, placing his two little hands on Veneerâs cheek.
âHey, Iâm here. Iâm here. Youâre not alone. You going to make it through. You hear me. Youâre going to make it through!â He leaned his tiny forehead on Veneerâs cheek. Yes, Bruce understood nowâŚhe understood what these two meant to FloydâŚhe knew now that he wasnât going to leave without them. Noises were heard far offâŚthe sound of footsteps approaching them.
âFloyd..weâŚwe have to hide at least.â Bruce said.
âNo.â
ââŚRunâŚ.â Veneer whispered through his pain.
âNO!â
The footsteps grew louder as they got closer. Whatever it was big, as the ground shook for the small Trolls. Suddenly out of the debris, two Bergens appeared: Ruff and Gruff. They looked down at displeasure at the Trolls. They saw that Veneer was still aliveâŚthis wasnât part of the plan.
âKill the Rageon. Eat the Trolls.â Gruff said. Ruff smiled as he attempted to stomp on the Trolls. They moved away in time, leaving Veneer alone and exposed to the Bergens. Gruff hovered over Veneer.
âNight night.â He reached over to place his hands on the Rageons head, ready to snap his neck.
âNO!â Floyd wrapped his hair around a tubing of debris. He swung and swung gaining enough force and momentum. He slingshotted himself straight towards the Bergens forehead. His force was so great that it knocked the Bergens out cold, causing him to fall backwards. Ruff stared in bewilderment as his brother was knocked out by a tiny Troll. He snarled his teeth at Floyd.
âDONâT YOU DARE TOUCH HIM! YOU STAY AWAY FROM MY SON!â Floyd screamed up. Ruff laughed as he reached down to grab Floyd, but the Troll being smaller, was quicker. He diveraged from the Bergen, through his legs. Using his hair, Floyd shot straight up. While in the air, he wrapped his hair again and shot straight for the Bergens stomach causing hims to groan. Floyd noticed a metal piping on top of the Bergens head. He wrapped his hair around the pipe and pulledâŚ
CRASH! It fell straight on top of the Bergen, knocking him out along with his brother on the floor. Floyd waited moment, he then ran to Veneer againâŚHe was still breathing, he was still alive, good.
âIâm getting you out of here!â Floyd tried his best to move the giant debris off the Rageon. He felt a hand on his shoulder. Floyd turned to Bruce who had a small smile on his faceâŚ.tears began to sting Floyds face.
âI get it now bro. I understand. And Iâm going to help you get him outâŚWeâll need some back up though.â Bruce turnedâŚout from amongst the debris, gray Trolls began to appearâŚUnder Rageous Trolls. Floyd quickly got in front of Veneer, protecting him.
âRageous Trolls? They hate Rageons.â Floyd said.
One little gray Troll got in front of all the other ones, the leader by the looks of him, âWe do. But we saw everything happen. This Rageon really means a lot to you doesnât he? We heard what you called him.â Floyd swallowed the lump in his throat not knowing what to answer, âWeâll help him. Weâll get your kid out and to safety.â

I was watching a Queen concert and omg! To be able to see them live. Then this song came up and the thought hit meâŚ. THAT BE GREAT IN A TROLLS MOVIE!
How can this song come to be?
After prison Veneer and his sister have been on a slippery slope. Veneer is trying to move on but Velvet is still stuck in the past. The life she is currently living is not enough⌠making Veneer feel that hes not enough for her. Everything hes given up to make her happy, he just doesnt know what to do anymore.
Feelings start to build up in Veneer. A meoldy starts coming out of his mouth. âHey! Keep going! I can work with that!â Barb cries out as she grabs her guitar. She fiddles around as she begins to make a tune to the lyrics Veneer is singingâŚ. Pretty soon you have this banger from Queen playing.

["The Set Up"]
Once Floyd learns Veneer's fate, I can just imagine him screaming and crying in anguish and rage. Anguish over his adopted son's death, and rage at The Mistress.
If a troll that grew up in Under Rageous were to say ignorant, insensitive things about Veneer in front of Floyd while he's in that state, I imagine Floyd would give that troll an earful and rake them across the coals, basically showing them why they shouldn't run their mouth about matters they know nothing about nor diss someone's dead kid in front of their parent. I don't think he'd normally go on such a tirade if he weren't emotionally raw from bereavement, but he wouldn't be having the other troll's crap either way.
In that context, if Floyd were "rescued" from Velvet, he'd already be pissed at his "rescuer" before they inadvertently throw fuel into the fire.
Floyd is definitely going to be heartbroken. It showed how they still cared for each other: Veneer set Floyd free even if he knows heâd earn a beating. Yet, Floyd still returned for him. Floyd is so kind that it takes something truly to heart to get him angry⌠and that something could very well be Veneer. Hmm, i can picture it like this:
The Set Up (con.): Rescued
Link to main story here.
Everything happened so fast: the rising platform making strange noises, it cracking and breaking in half, Velvet screaming⌠Veneer falling to the ground below with Bruce and John. These diamond were impenetrable, he didnât doubt John and Bruce had survived the fallâŚ. But VeneerâŚ
âHe has to be okay.â Floyd whispered to himself as he hugged his knees inside his diamond. Branch sat opposite him inside his own. Since the accident he noticed a shift in his brotherâs moodâŚ. He grew silent and distant. Clay stood on the other side.
âFloyd?â Branch called out to him. Floyd did his best to smile; he had put Branch through so much, why worry him?
âSorry. JustâŚa lot today.â
âJohn and Bruce are going to be alright.â Clay said.
âI know they will. These diamonds are tough. Thatâs why they say the perfect family harmony is the only to break it.â He smiled, but he didnât say more.
Branch allowed for some moments of silence to pass, âItâs Veneer isnât it?â Floyd looked up his brother, Clay gave him a questionable look.
âWhy the kid?â He asked.
âThereâs a bond⌠isnât there?â Branch finally asked. Floyd sighed and nodded.
âWeâŚâ Before he could continue any further the sound of high voices came from out the door.
âThe Trolls are gone? And you just wait till now to tell!â Mistress screamed at the top of her lungs. She was yelling at the two Bergens who barely showed her the empty diamonds they found. âThat stupid kidâŚâ they heard her mumble under her breath. The three Troll brothers glanced at each other⌠John and Bruce escaped! Floyd knew all to well that it was Veneer who would have done that⌠he kept listeningâŚ
SLAM!
The sound of a door bursting open echoed through the room and halls.
âWhere is he?!â Velvets boomed down the hallways.
âVelvet please justâŚâ
âWHERE IS MY BROTHER!â She screamed at the top of her lungs. Floyd could hear the desperation in her voice.
âDonât you door talk to me like that!â Mistress repliedâŚ
CRASH!
The sound of things breaking began to echo with the voices, âWHERES VENEER?â Velvet demanded again.
âDEAD VELVET!â
SilenceâŚâŚ
ââŚ.where is he? Iâm not playing.â Velvet continued.
âHeâs gone!⌠Ruff and Gruff went to look for him. They found himâŚ. He was already gone when they found himâŚ.Iâm sorry.â Mistress tried to sound as sincere as she could.
âNoâŚ.â The word escaped Floydâs lips. Branch and Clay turned to look at their brother as he fell to his knees.
âYouâre⌠youâre lyingâŚâ A whisper was barely heard escaping Velvets lipsâŚ..silenceâŚ..
THUMP!
The sound of a fist hitting the wall was heard, then the wailing sounds of Velvets criesâŚ
âNo. No. No. No. No. NO!â She screamed at the top of her lungsâŚ. The small Trolls heard the pain in her cries and voice. âNo. No!â She cried over and over, âNot Vennie. Not my Vennie.â She screamed and screamed.
âVelvet im sorry, but thereâs nothing you can do.â Mistress tried to speak to her, but Velvet continued to scream and cry, muting the sounds around her. âGet her up! Let her sorrow in her room. We need to speak about retrieving the bodyâŚâ Velvet cried and wailed. The Trolls heard her screams as she was carried down the hallway.
âSheâŚ. She doesnât deserve to feel that wayâŚâ Clay said.
â⌠Itâs like⌠I felt her painâŚâ Branch added. They both turned to Floyd⌠he was hugging his knees, face buried.
âFloyd?â Branch called out.
âAAAGGHH!!â His tiny fists slammed against the diamond, tears were streaming down his eyes, âItâs my fault! Itâs all my fault! IâŚ.IâŚ.â He tried to catch his breath in between his tears, âI shouldâve left when I could! I shouldnât have tried to abandon them like I did!â He cried and screamed in pain.
âNo, no, Floyd⌠you canât..â Branch tried to sooth him.
âNo Branch! Dont please!â Floyd continues crying, âHeâs gone. Heâs gone because of me!â He cried and punched the diamond over and overâŚ. Branch and Clay then saw something in Floyd they had never seenâŚ. Hatred, and true anger.
âSheâs going to payâŚ.Shes not going to get away with thisâŚ. Iâll kill her myself if have too..â He whispered under his breathâŚ.Suddenly a commotion was heard above themâŚOne of the vents popped off landing with a CLANK on the dresser the Trolls were propped on. Coming down on grapple hooks were three gray Trolls.
âWhat are you guys doing here?â Branch asked. Floyd turned to look between them and his brother curiously.
âWe were there at the Rage Dome. We saw everything. We also ran into John and Bruce, they said you three were most likely still captive.â One gray Troll said walking up to Clayâs diamond.
âOf course. They were right.â The other responded. The Troll near Clayâs diamond took out a device, placing it on the diamond, it began to vibrant at a high frequencyâŚ.The diamond shattered.
âWhoa. Thatâs one way of doing it.â Clay commented.
âWhy not just pop the lid off or something?â Branch asked as the gray Troll made himself over to him.
âRageons are the only ones who open and close precious jewels. There touch does something to it or something like that. Unfortunately for the rest of usâŚâ Branches diamond also shattered⌠âWe have to find ways.â He then went over to Floyd.
âYou found my brothersâŚ.DidâŚ.Did you see a Rageon with them?â Floyd asked, a pain in his voice.
âOh yeah.â The gray Troll giggledâŚthis itched Floydâs nerve, âLetâs just say he wont be seeing the sunrise tomorrow.â The other gray Trolls laughed. âItâs what the kid deserved. Donât get yourself into something you canât get out ofâŚand thatâs exactly what these two knuckle heads did. Torturing Trolls all for their gain. Hopefully he getâs tortured in the afterlife, see how he likes it. I would say maybe someone could show him how it feel like to suck his talent, but no luck there. He was a talentless bastardâŚâ
CRUNCH!
As soon as Floydâs diamond shattered, his fist came straight in contact with the grays Troll face. He fell back holding his nose, crying in agony, âWhat the hell?!â He cried out looking at Floyd. Floydâs breathing was ragged as anger fumed across his veins. He went up to the gray Troll againâŚ
SMACK! He punched.
SMACK! AgainâŚ.
SMACK! And againâŚ
âFLOYED!â Branch ran to his brother, restraining him. Clay joined in as he saw Floyd was determined to continue laying a beating on the gray Troll.
âDONT YOU DARE TALK ABOUT VENEER THAT WAY! DONâT YOU EVER, EVER DARE! EVER AGAIN!â He screamed. The gray Troll held his nose as blood seeped through.
âHe was just a stupid Rageon!â He yelled.
âAGGGHH!â Floyd shook free and tackled the Troll. He held him tight in a head lock, âHe was more than that! He was much, MUCH more than that! He was kind, he was gentleâŚhe was innocent and didnât deserve this!â He screamed as tears began falling down his face, ââŚ.He was my kidâŚand now heâs goneâŚâ
âFLOYD!â Branched yelled again.
He released the Troll, leaving him gasping for air. Branch and Clay stood and watch him in bewildermentâŚnever had Floyd acted like this, never had they seen the anger run through his eyes as it did now. Stupid Under Rageous Trolls wouldnât understand. They hated Rageons for what they did to TrollsâŚ.But Veneer was just any regular Rageon. He took pity on Floyd, saved him, helped him regain his colorsâŚbecame his familyâŚand nowâŚall that would be just memoryâŚbecause Veneer wasnât there for Floyd to run back to anymore. Floyd allowed himself to feel the pain of loss once more as tears began to fall again, his body shaking with every cryâŚ.
He then gathered his strength and stood up. Floyd turned to face the gray Trolls once more, âDonât ever comment on things you donât know about..Especially when it involves the death of someoneâs son.â He hopped off the dresser and went towards the door.
âNo, Floyd! Where are you going? We have to get out of here.â Clay called out.
âNoâŚI have one more kid out thereâŚone more alive. I am not going to abandon herâŚnot again.â He ran and slid under the opening of the doorâŚhe was gone out of sight.

If youâve been with me and read my stuff, first of all, thank you!!
You have no idea how much that means to me and just encourages me!
Secondly, you may have questions about certain characters I list in my fics that are not recognizable or may seem new to you. Thatâs okay! Because, they kind of are! I have a small list of OCs I have created to fit into my stories. Iâm not much of a drawer and still require a butt load of practice, but i am a writer and will try to draw the mental image of these characters as much as i can. So here we go!!
PS: Drawing takes me a long time, so if I can get to drawing these characters then Iâll try! I also wouldnât mind artist out there bringing these characters to life in their own light!
The Mistress
Ah yes. This is a name you have recognize and seen a couple of times in some of my stories. The Mistress is a name I have given to Velvet and Veneerâs manager. Why Mistress? Itâs a code name she chose to hide her try identity. Sheâs been running this muck of a business for years. And what exactly is that business? Hiring and grooming young Rageons into her little fame fraud. There is something about using Trolls essence that makes someoneâs mind easier to mend and control, she doesnât if it kills the TrollâŚor the person using it. All that matters to her is good business and money. She finally find her âsuperâ stars when she discovered the twins, but now that they are out of her grasp, out of her control, youâd think sheâd move onâŚno. That just makes them more desirable to her and her scheme. Unfortunately, the contract the twins signed made them her property. She deems this contract âunbreakableâ somehow through some sortâŚand is only broken in case of death of the twins.
Her age is a mystery.
She is known to be very beautiful with kind eyesâŚwhich makes her very deceiving. Her hair is known to be a dark red tint of sangria and her skin light redwood red. She always wears elegant style business suit. Mistress has beautiful piercing green eyes, her hair always styled into a messy bun that allows her curls to fall beautifully around her face.
Ruff and Gruff
These OCs were inspired by some drawings I saw of @skydiverdrawings . Ruff and Gruff are sibling Bergens that reside in Rageous. Bergens in Rageous? Itâs much more common in Under Rageous which is where the Bergens are from. Mistress needed body guards and henchmen to do her bidding. So she hired the biggest and toughest Bergens she laid her eyes on during one of her visits to the under-city. Ruff and Gruff are paid handsomely, including the occasional Troll. These Bergens are still set with the mindset that eating Trolls brings happinessâŚmuch like the rest of the Bergens that reside in Under Rageous. So every now and then, Mistress will make sure they are kept happy.
They are downright mean and will not hesitate to kill on demandâŚeven if itâs a teenaged Rageon.
I havenât thought much about their looks other than they are bigger and stronger than a normal Bergen (Under Rageous Bergens tend to be bigger and stronger than those in Bergentown). Their names were inspired by HTTYD twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut.
Cressida
If you know her, you probably wished you wouldnât. Cressida is the twin sister of Velvet and Veneers mother, VivianâŚtheir aunt. She was always jealous her sister though her sister always treated her lovely. Vivian always longed for a loving relationship with her sister, but Cressida never cared for it. Things changed and got worse when Vivian met the twins father. Cressida was in love with him, but she was cruel and greedyâŚand their father saw this. He had always tried to be kind to her, but she would always try to manipulate him in some way. Eventually, he ended up falling in love with Vivian. Vivian was hesitant in his affections and marrying for fear of breaking her sisters heart. It took a couple of years before the twins father eventually won Vivian over. This left a bitter tasted in Cressidaâs mouth allowing more hate to grow in her heart. Despite that, Vivian still trusted her, even with her own children.
Cressida was highly abusive towards the twins, mainly Veneer since he reminded her so much of their father. As Veneer got older, Cressida began to take notice of his physical demeanorâŚeventually leading her to take advantage of him physically. Eventually, thanks to Velvet, the twins break free and leave their aunts. It is unknown what happened to Cressida during the twins fame arc and return to Under Rageous.
Tye
Now for this little guy I do have art for. Not the best, but Iâm still practicing.
Tye is a Troll born and raised in the under-city of Under Rageous. Heâs a handful of Trolls that dwell there. This colony of Trolls are decendents or escapees that have run away from the clutches of Under Rageons. Tye is 17 years old but is quite mature for his age. As he got older, Tye took it upon himself to help raise the younger Trolls being born in the under-city. Heâs also dedicated in going out to rescue trapped Trolls throughout Under Rageous with the older Trolls.
Itâs not quite sure what type of Troll he is since heâs lost his color. He really hasnât given himself time for hobbies since heâs main desire is to help ALL captured Trolls, so unfortunately, this means he also does t have any friendsâŚ
Until he meets a green, swooped haired Rageon, whom at first he doesnât trust and finds annoying.
Shank
Shank is an Under Rageon crime boss. He was the one who mentioned the twins to Mistress in the first place. He and Mistress have a CLOSE working relationship. Theyâll deny being together romantically, but their physical attraction to each other says otherwise.
Not much is known about him or how he and Mistress met, but rumor has it they had known each other since they were young and have been in love since then. He is just as evil and ruthless, spreading fear to those he meets. Heâs the number one crime boss in the under-city, so donât cross him, because he has everywhere. To his surprise, the ones to out smart him so far have been the twins⌠which he finds really annoying⌠and boils his blood.
Shank is a pale Rageon (almost like the twins except he has a little more tint on his skin). He has dark, blue denim hair that is stringed into dreadlocks. His teeth are filed sharped and scars covering his entire body, his eyes are always hidden behind sunglasses but are a brilliant maya blue.

TRIGGER WARNING âźď¸: DEATH AND MENTION OF UNALIVING SOMEONE
The Mistress (their manager) runs a tight ship, and has a very tight leash on the twins. Veneer has let her down one to many times, and has attempted more than once to release Floyd.
Mistress no longer sees a need for him, her only desire is Velvet. So she plans a little accident that will take him out once and for all.
Floyd ran and ran.
He spotted the drawer in the middle of the hallway, so he took cover. Floyd heard the distant footsteps of the giant female Rageon.
âWHERE ARE YOU!â Velvet screamed. Floyd closed his mouth as he tried to catch his breath. Veneer, I have to go back, he thought to himself. He peeked from under the drawer. Velvet stomped around, peeking through every doorâŚ.she wasnât dumb, sheâd know to look under the drawer. He had to be careful and calculate his move.
âDAMMIT!â Velvet bursted a door open and went int. NOW! Using his hair, he quickly swooped past the opened door and went running from where he came fromâŚback to Veneer.
Veneer sat on the chair holding his eye. Unfortunately, his sister walked in on him releasing Floyd. There was an anger in her eyes and they turned pink. She punched him square in the face, leaving him a black eye. Hopefully, Floyd was long gone by nowâŚback to his brothersâŚ.that's when he heard the small pitter patters of little feet on the floor. Veneer looked up to see Floyd coming back through the open door.
âFloyd! What the heck! You shouldâve been gone!â Veneer knelt to the ground to get at eye level with the little Troll.
âNot without you! Now lets go! Before Velvet turns back around.â Floyd pulled the Rageon to get him to move.
âI canât.â Veneer stated, âI canât leave Velvet in all this mess.â
âWe will comeback for her. I promise. Before we do, we need a plan.â
âFloyd, you donât know what the horrid woman is capable of she- AHHHH!â Veneer was pulled up by his collar. He came face with a huge Bergen: Gruff.
âHey!â Floyd yelled, but he was soon caught again. Encasing him a diamond was another Bergen: Ruff. Floyd banged his little fists on the diamond. âLet him you go , you big lugs!â
âWe got the Troll boss.â Both Bergens turned towards the door. A tall Rageon woman enteredâŚshe was elegant, she was beautiful. Her hair was was the dark red tint of sangria, her skin was light redwood red. She walked in her black elegant suit, pointed shoulder pads made her look more menacing. Her hair pulled in a messy bun, with curls falling beautifully around her face; her piercing green eyes staring straight at VeneerâŚshe was their managerâŚshe went by her stage name: The Mistress.
âAnd I wonder how he may have escaped in the first place.â She didnât take her eyes off VeneerâŚHe shuddered under the grasp of the Bergen. âDo my associates here need to teach you another lesson?â Gruff pinned Veneer to the wall.
âNo!â Floyd yelled. The sound of Velvetâs heels were heard as she entered the doorway, walking upon the sight of Gruff pinning her brother against the wall.
âWait! What are you doing?â She called out.
âYour brother needs to learn another lesson.â Mistress said. Gruff was ready to strikeâŚ
âWAIT!â Velvet cried out. The Bergen withheld himself. Mistress turned to her and arched an eyebrow.
âExcuse me?â She asked.
âL-look at his eye. I already pounded him. He knows better than to do that again. If not Iâll seriously lay another one on him.â She glared at her brother through angry eyes. Veneer swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat. Mistress smiled at the effect that Velvet had on her brotherâŚhe was truly afraid of herâŚ.Though, what Mistress didnât know was that Velvet never planned on doing that again. Something came over her when she hit him⌠she needed to control herself, she needed to prevent it.
âVery well.â She nodded at the Bergen to place him down. Gruff let go of Veneer, causing him to land to the ground with a loud thud.
âVen!â Floyd cried out. Mistress looked at the Troll in disgust.
âMake sure these two are not left alone again. Lock him up. I will only have access to him until you two need him.â She snapped at Ruff who still held Floyd. The Bergen nodded and walked away. Veneer stared at Floyd wide-eyed and scared as the small Troll was carried away. âVelvet, a word in my office. You!â She turned and spat at Veneer, âTo the showers and off to bed!â
Mistress closed the door behind her as they entered her office, âSit.â She told Velvet. The young Rageon hesitantly sat down on the chair opposite of the Mistresses deskâŚ.The woman was intimidating, being in the same room with her was enoughâŚbut being alone with her..that was drawing the line. Velvet didnât know what she wanted or why she was called to meet with her alone. If it was about what happened, Velvet had no idea Veneer would do that. YesâŚthey had a connection with the TrollâŚor they did, before he tried to leave them. That alone was enough to break Velvetâs trust, especially when you betray Veneer in such a wayâŚthat wasnât forgivableâŚ.
Mistress finally took a seat opposite of Velvet. She crossed her legs and leaned in on her desk, âSo, Velvet, there has been something I wanted to ask you for awhileâŚâ
Velvet sat straight up and looked mistress in the eyes. She tried not to look afraid, but truthfully, she was terrified.
âIf itâs about what happened, I didnât know. Veneer still cares for the Troll, no matter how much Iâve tried talking him out of itâŚâ Velvet began to explain.
âThatâs a different matter we can discuss later. Itâs about something else.â Mistress responded.
âOh.â
âHave you thought of solo career?â
Velvet was to stunned for words. Has she? In all honesty, no, she hadnât. She was famous, she had money, thatâs all that mattered. âNoâŚNo honestly not really. Why?â
âYou have potential. Between you and your brother, youâre the one I can see holding your own. Iâve seen the analytics, you are FAR more popular than your brother is. You donât think heâs holding you back?â
The young Rageon thought about it for a momentâŚWas he clumsy? Yes. Airheaded? Most definitely. Did his mistakes get them in more trouble than they should be? Always. But Velvet never once felt like he was holding her back. They survived down in the under-city by themselves, togetherâŚ
âHeâs an idiot. I wonât lie. Sometimes I want to wrap my hands around his neck and just shake some sense into the stupid big head of hisâŚ.ButâŚ.No, Iâve never thought of him holding me back. I mean, itâs been the two of us for as long as I can remember.â
Mistress figured as muchâŚ
âWell, I thought I would ask. Just letting you know you have it. That was all. You may leave.â
Velvet hesitated a moment..but then she got up and left.
âRuff. Gruff.â Mistress called out. The two Bergens walked in, âThe Troll?â
âLocked away.â
âGood. Good.â She picked up the phone and dialed.
âWhat is it?â
âOur girl didnât take the bait. She is not going to ditch her brother.â
âDid she seem certain?â
âVery certain. Heâs been screwing up. He let the stupid little Troll out today. It would have gotten away if he didnât go back for the kid.â Mistress replied.
âGone back? Why the hell would the Troll go back?â The voice in the other line asked.
âThereâs history. The girl seems to hate the little Troll, but the boy is determined. It seems the essence isnât effecting him as much as we hopedâŚHeâs not fully under our control.â
âYou think heâll ever be?â
âNo. Heâs on the verge of ruining our little setup. If anything gets out what weâre doing, weâre ruined. Veneer is not going to give up until he sets that little Troll and his sister freeâŚHeâs annoying.â Mistress declared.
There was silence on the other line, then a long sigh, âThen, do what you have to do. Heâs no use to us if he canât be controlled.â
âOh, I got this. Itâll be all over the news tomorrow.â The Mistress hung up. She tapped her fingers along her desk. âAre they here?â She turned to her Bergens. Ruff and Gruff came in and placed four diamonds on her deskâŚinside these diamonds were more Trolls. They banged and banged against the diamond they were encased in.
âHey! Let us out of here you old hag!â John Dory yelled. Next to him, his brothers also cried out and cursed Mistress.
âThey are quite adorable.â She commented, smiling slyly.
âWhereâs our brother!â Branch yelled from within the diamond, but the Mistress paid no mind to him at all.
âPrepare the setup. I want it all looking like an accident when our little Veneer takes a tumble off stage.â She waved off, signaling her Bergens to take the Trolls away. The brothers stared at each other in disbelief after hearing what they heardâŚSetup? Accident? They didnât want to be a part of thisâŚthey just wanted their brother backâŚ
The lights at the Rage Dome sparkled and shone the next night. Fans cheered and cried anticipating the arrival of their idols. Velvet and Veneer sat shoulder to shoulder in the pearl white limo as it made its way to the Rage Dome.
âMore Trolls? Weâre going to own this night Veneer!â Velvet exclaimed happily. On two of her shoulder pads she carried Branch and Clay, there was a centerpiece in her chest where Floyd stood.
âLeave my brothers out of this!â He screamed at the Mistress sitting across from them.
âThey should have known better than to come. Theyâre practically asking for it.â The woman replied as she was glued to her phone. Veneer eyed Floyd with a sad expression. He looked solemnly at the other trapped Trolls.
ââŚIâm sorryâŚâ He whispered to John Dory and Bruce as they were held captive in the diamond he had.
âVeneer, stop it! WE deserve this. WE deserve to be happyâŚand not at the hands of a squirmy little Troll.â She glanced down angrily at Floyd. The Mistress looked up to eye his reactionâŚ
âAlways Vels.â He said, but his face was still sad, still unconvincedâŚshe was still to proceed with the plan as necessaryâŚ
The luxury vehicle arrived at the front of the Rage DomeâŚThe fans roared and screamed louder and louder, âHere we go!â Velvet smiled at her brother as she stepped out. The fans boomed upon the sight of her. They screamed and chanted her name.
âThank you! Thank you!â Velvet said with a smile across her lips. Veneer faked a smile as he walked out behind her. Waving at the crowd and signing autographs, they walked down the red carpet towards the facility.
âVelvet, come on. You have to stop this!â Floyd told her as she continued her journey down the red carpet.
âShut it Troll.â
âI know youâre mad about what I didâŚ.I knowâŚI almost abandoned both of youâŚseems like thatâs all I'm good at.â He said, looking towards Branch. Branch and Clay exchanged heartfelt glances at each other. âBut I am not going to abandon you this time, Vels. Come on, we have a chance to leave this.â Velvet was silent as his words tried to find a way into her closed heartâŚ
âIâm doing this for Veneer. Itâs just me and him nowâŚitâs always been. So shut up!â She murmured.
âSheâs planning something. That woman. Sheâs planning something against your brother.â Clay said. Velvet looked down at him, and she entered the Rage Dome.
âShut up.â
âHeâs telling the truth. We overheard it.â Branch added.
âI said shut up!â
She felt a hand on her shoulder. Velvet turned to meet her brother's eyes. âAre you sure about this?â He asked. âMaybeâŚmaybe we shouldnât do this. Letâs get out of this Vels. Me and you.â
Me and him, his words echoed in her mind. If they were to leave, if they were to escapeâŚsheâd go after them, torture them, send them back to the under-city. âWeâre to far into this, Ven. They love us, they want us. We finally have everything we deserve.â She said, grasping his shoulders. âMe and you, right!â
He nodded softly, âYeahâŚMe and you.â He smiled.
âThen letâs get this show on the road!â
The twins made their way to the stage where they were to perform. The fans could be heard screaming from the stands outside the stage:
V and V, V and V, V and V, they chanted over and over. This sent a fire burning inside Velvet, a desire to perform, to give the fans what they wantedâŚVeneer on the other hand still had guilt, shameâŚHe glanced at the Trolls encased in the diamonds, his eyes falling on Floyd.
âIâm sorry. Sheâs my sisterâŚI canât, I wonât abandon her.â He told John and Bruce.
âBetter than we ever were to our brother.â John sighed. He looked up at Veneer, âKid. Thereâs something we overheard. This womanâŚsheâŚâ The Troll was cut off as the lights dimmed and the music began to play. The twins took their marks on two separate platforms.
âReady to light this place up.â She held out her pinky, âPromises?â
âPromises.â He wrapped his pinky around hers.
The music grew louder and faster. âWHATâS UP MOUNT RAGEOUS!â Velvet chanted into the mic as their platforms rose. The fans cheered as the twins appeared center stage in the rising platforms. âI CAN'T HEAR YOU!â She called out again. The fans screamedâŚsilencing any sound from the outside world. âLETâS LIGHT THIS PLACE UP!â
As the platforms rose higher, Velvet began to sing. The crowd cheered and chanted, Velvet sang louder and louderâŚVeneer was about to join in himself when he felt the platform he was on shake.
âHuh?â He looked down. The safe rails appeared around Velvet, but failed to appear around him. He ignored it and joined his sister in the melodyâŚ.The platform rumbled and shook againâŚit grew fiercer and fiercer. âVels?â He called out to his sister on the platform next to himâŚbut she was lost in a trance as she continued to perform.
GGRRRRRRRâŚ
He could hear the gears in his platform stirring and making noises he knew weren't normal.
âVELS!â He called out. Velvet turned to see Veneerâs platform give outâŚ
CRACK!
His platform snapped in half in the middle. âVENEER!â She reached over her safe rails for her brotherâŚTheir fingers only brushed as he tumbled to the ground. The crowd around them screamed in horror at the sight. Security came in screaming for everyone to evacuate.
âJohn! Bruce!â Branch called out for his brothers as he saw them disappear in the falling debris along with the Rageon.
âVENNIE!â Velvet cried out as he disappeared below. Her platform didnât lower, it didnât falter.
âStay where you are! Weâll get you down!â Security called out to her.
âMy brother! Help my brother dammit!â She criedâŚ
The fallen platform caused dust to fly up everywhere, debris now surrounded the entire stage of the Rage Dome. Tall structures bent and broken. John and Bruce stirred in their diamonds.
âBruceâŚBruce!â John called out.
âIâm good!â Bruce stood up. âKid? Kid!â
Veneer lay on his backâŚhis breathing heavy and rugged. Large pipes lay over his legs, blood trailing from his mouth and nose.
ââŚIt hurtsâŚâ He said softly, âI canâtâŚI canât move my legsâŚI canât feelâŚjust painâŚâ He struggled speaking as the pain in his lungs spiked.
âDonât move. Donât worry. Help is going to come and get you out of this mess.â John reassured him.
Veneer nodded his headâŚa few moments passed before he reached over to each diamond. Through pain, he popped out the diamonds and released the tiny Trolls. John and Bruce were finally able to get a good look at himâŚhe was in bad shapeâŚhe was broken.
âPleaseâŚhelp my sister...â Veneer said in a whisper.
âHey, weâre going to help you too.â Bruce repliedâŚFootsteps were heard approaching. The Trolls looked at VeneerâŚ
Hide, he mouthed at them. The two Trolls hesitated before hiding behind a pile of debris. They peeked through the gaps to see two large Bergens appearâŚ
ââŚOh noâŚThis ainât good.â John said.
ââŚhelpâŚâ Veneer called out to the Bergens. They both hovered over him, staring down, then glanced at each other.
âStill alive?â Ruff commented. Gruff looked down at Veneer, pleading in his eyes that the Bergens would help him⌠This was not part of the plan, he wasnât supposed to be alive. Gruff bent down and wrapped his hands around Veneerâs headâŚJohn and Bruce looked away in timeâŚavoiding the horror that was to comeâŚ
SNAP!
That was all they heard⌠The Trolls peeked to see Veneer now laying motionlessâŚThe Rageons eyes were distant and glassed, his body stillâŚhe was goneâŚ
âNot alive anymore.â Gruff responded. The Bergens retreated. They could hear the screaming from afarâŚ
âVENEER! VENEER!â His sister called out. She attempted to run in the wreckage to look for him but was held back by security. âLET ME GO! I HAVE TO GO FIND HIM! VENNIE!â Her scream grew hoarse as tears began to fill her eyes. Security hawled her away. She kicked and screamed attempting to escape, but they dragged her to safety out of the Rage Dome against her will.
Bruce and John neared Veneerâs lifeless body, placing a hand on his growing cold cheek, âKid. Iâm sorry. Iâm so, so sorry..â John said as tears began to sting his eyes.
ââŚWe need to keep his requestâŚWe got to go for our brothersâŚand his sister.â Bruce added.
Standing at the entrance of the Rage Dome, Mistress had watched her plan unfoldâŚ.a wicked smile on her face. The two Bergens approached herâŚ
âDone.â Ruff stated.
Her smile grew bigger, more evil, a glint in her eyes. The screw up was gone, âGood. Now we focus on our girl to mold her into the perfect specimen.â

Meet Tye.
A little Troll who has lived in Under Rageous his entire life. His parents were captured by Rageons but escaped. He and his family have been living in a refugee colony since then.

Tye doesnât have the musical drive that most Trolls do as he and the entire colony are all gray⌠no happiness runs through them.
Tye eventually ârescuesâ Branch when he sees him with Veneer, unknowing that the Rageon is harmless. Tye refuses to believe that the twins are good or have any goodness in them. Eventually, with the inspiration by Creek, Tye convinces Branch to abandon Veneer to seek escape.
As time goes by he sees that the twins are lost and confused teens⌠just like him. Eventually he and Veneer develop a friendship, much to his disliking, he actually grows fond of the Rageon.
Veneer is happy to have made a friend his own age for once.
Tye would have a voice resembling Josh Hutcherson (just for audio effect) lol

Inspired by and written for @veneerandvelvet! Thank you for helping me when I needed it â¤ď¸ Also, the small fish plushy was inspired by @saucytango idea in an piece she did!!
During a night out, the twins are left with their aunt: CressidaâŚ. Who has been doing something horrible to VeneerâŚ
One night, their parents come home early and catch Cressida during her act of rage. Sometimes the word âfamilyâ doesnât mean anything to someâŚ
âDo we have to go Aunt Cressidaâs?â Veneer asked as he fiddled with his stuffed fish toy. It was a gift Velvet had given to him after Sparkles died, it was the only thing that comforted himâŚand the only thing that still does when his sister wasnât around. âMe and Velvet and stay by ourselves for a little bit. Weâre older now.â
Their father gave a small chuckle in the front seat, âOh yes. At seven years old your old enough to stay by yourself and drive.â
âReally?â Veneer exclaimed.
âVen, we know you and your sister can manage by yourselves. Itâs always nice to have an adult watch youâŚEspecially you Veneer. God forbid, you need someone to take you to the hospital.â Their mother responded.
He sighed. Veneer hated going to their auntâsâŚshe was horrible. He shouldnât hate her. He should love her; she was their motherâs sister after all. But she did things to him he never told his parents⌠especially Velvet. He turned to look at his sister; she was coloring in her book. She felt her brother's eyes and turned to face him.
âWhat?â
ââŚnothingâŚâ He turned away.
Velvet arched an eyebrow. He always got weird whenever they went to their aunts, something heâd tried to hide but became more obvious.
âWhat happened to your eye?â She asked one day as they headed back home.
âI fell down. Aunt gave me ice.â
âWhen did you fall?â
âI just fell, Velvet.â
He never raised his voice at her, but that day he did, which meant only one thingâŚsomething was bothering him and he was lying. They drove up into the drive that was their aunts. Velvet gathered her things and got down before anyone.
âIâll help Vennie mom!â She chimed. Her mother smiled and headed to the front door with her husband to greet her sister. Veneer grabbed his toy, books, and his backpack that connected to the tube around his nose. Velvet stopped him before he could get down.
âYou better tell me whatâs bothering you?â She demanded.
âW-what?â He asked a little taken back.
âSomething has been bugging you. Actually, EVERYTIME we come to aunt Cressidaâs you get like this. So whatâs going on?â She placed her hands on her hips and stared him right in the eye. Veneer did his best not to avoid her stare, if he did, sheâd definitely know something was wrong. He held her gaze for as long as he couldâŚthen she caved in.
âFine. But I'm going to be watching you closely. So no lying!â She helped him down and headed towards their parents at the front door.
ââŚAnd he has a backpack now. It has his oxygen inside so itâs easier to carry around. Heâs still getting used to, so heâll want to take it off. Please make sure he has it on.â Their mother was explaining to their sister. Cressida stood leaning against the doorway, arms crossed. She eyed the twins as they neared themâŚshe looked at them coldly, as if they were strangers, not her niece and nephew.
âDo they have things to keep them entertained?â She asked coldly.
âOh yes! Of course! They brought their toys and coloring books.â Their mother smiled. Cressida moved aside, her gesture of signaling the twins inside. Their mother and father knelt down to give them kisses and hugs.
âWeâll be back in a couple hours.â His father scuffled Veneerâs hair. He watched his parents take off, waving as they exited the driveway.
âWell? Inside!â Their aunt screamed. Velvet entered holding her brother's hand, bringing him in closer to her. Like she said, she was going to keep a close eye on him. When they entered the home, a strange Rageon man was sitting on the couch smoking a cigarette, watching TV. He turned to eye the twins.
âWho the hell?â He commented.
âMy sisterâs brats. You two. To the room. Just stay there until your parents come home. I donât feel like putting up with your shit today. And donât you dare close the door! God, knows what mischief you two will do.â Cressida demanded. She didnât need to tell Velvet twice. Grabbing her brother's hand tighter Velvet led them to the room they normally stayed in with their aunt.
âThat guy gave me the creeps.â Veneer commented once they entered the room.
âWeâll just stay in here and upstairs until mom and dad get home. Oh! Did you bring Janga?â Velvet asked. Veneer giggled and pulled out the set. âYes!â
The hour went by as the twins played Janga using various games and techniques they came up with on their own. Little did they know as time went by, as the more fun they had, they grew louder and louder. Cressida was sitting on top of his lap, kissing him when they heard the laughter and giggles coming from upstairs.
The man grunted, âThose kids better shut up soon!â Cressida grumbled and got off his lap.
âIâm on it.â
âThatâs five points for me!â Velvet giggled.
âNo! That was my point. You cheated on that one!â Veneer stated.
âWHAT THE HELL!â The twins jumped at the sound of their aunts voice. They turned to face her as she stood at the doorway, arms crossed. âI SWEAR TO GOD VENEER IF YOU DONâT KEEP IT DOWN, YOUâLL REGRET!â She stormed back downstairs.
âWhy did she only blame you? We were both being loud.â Velvet said with an annoyance in her voice.
Veneer waved it off, âItâs okay. Oh! Why donât we play buried treasure!â
âThere are not much places to hide treasure around here, Veneer.â
âWeâll make it work!â He dug around her backpack to find something small. âGot it! Okay, stay here and make the map! Iâll go hide this!â He began to head off.
âVeneer.â Velvet scolded. He turned back around sheepishly to face her. She pointed to his oxygen backpack on the floor. âRemember what mom said.â Rolling his eyes he went over to grab his backpack and put his tubing back on. He then ran out the door and headed to explore the upstairs portion of the house to find a place to hide the treasure. He went into a room⌠It had a boiler and some electrical outlets.
âOh! She won't think of looking in here.â He said to himself. He tiptoed in. It was dark so he tried feeling for a switch that might power some light. His hands felt somethingâŚ
CLICK.
The whole power in the house went out.
âHuh?â Velvet exclaimed as she was back in the room drawing the map. She heard a scream from the bottom of the stairs.
âSON OF A BITCH! WHO TURNED THE DAMN POWER OFF!â The male Rageon yelled. Uh oh, she thought it herself. Where did Veneer go? Velvet made her way towards the door when she heard Cressida come upstairs. She could hear the frustration and anger under her breath.
âVennie!â Her walked turned in a sprint, she slipped and fell on her elbow. A pain steering through. It took a her moment before she heard itâŚ
âTHE HELL VENEER! YOU RUINED MY DATE NIGHT! NOW HEâS GONE! YOU STUPID, STUPID IDIOT!â Cressida screamed at the top of her lungs. She heard the commotion, the resistance.
âI- I am sorryâŚâ She heard her brother say. âOw! I said Iâm sorry!â
âVennie!â Velvet ignored the pain in her elbow and ran out the door, straight to Cressida. She had Veneer by his hair, tears streaming down his face. âAunt Cressida, stop it! It was an accident!â Velvet went to pull her arm. Cressida turned towards her. She firmly grasped her by the arm and pulled her back to the room. Cressida threw her and locked the door from the outside.
âAunt Cressida please stop!â Tears began falling down Velvetâs face as she heard the pleas and cry from her brother. âPlease leave him alone! Mommy! Daddy!â Velvet banged the doorâŚVeneer continued to beg and cry.
âWell, we may be a bit earlier than expected. Iâm sure my sister wouldnât mind it though.â Their mother said jokingly. They drove up into the driveway, the house completely dark.
âWas she going to take the kids somewhere?â Their father asked turning off the engine. They both stepped out of the carâŚ.
âStop it!â
They heard screaming coming from the inside. They knew Cressida had company, now their fear was that he was hurting herâŚor their children. The twins' parents ran to the front doorâŚit was left open. Once they entered they could hear the commotion and screams more clearly coming from upstairs.
âMommy! Daddy!â They heard Velvetâs voice.
âMy babies..â Their mother ran up the stairsâŚThatâs when she saw her own sister beating down on her son. âCRESSIDA!â Their mother ran and tore away her sister from Veneer. The force she used knocked Cressida off her feet, her eyes wide in horror⌠she didnât expect them to be back so early.
âVennie. Sweetheart, Iâm here, Iâm here.â She embraced him, his face bruised and bleeding. If looks could kill, Cressida would have been dead. âHow dare you!â
âMommy? Daddy?â Their father followed Velvetâs voice. He unlocked the door to find his daughter with tears in her eyes. He knelt down and embraced her tightly. He glanced at Cressida with hate in his eyes.
âLetâs go. You are never seeing or touching my children ever again!â He scooped up Velvet in his arms, he extended his hand to his wife. âLetâs go. Letâs go before I get really mad and do something I regret.â He told her, practically begging her to leave while he still had some sort of control. She nodded. Scooping up Veneer and his backpack in his arms, she followed her husband down the stairs.
âMy fishy!â Veneer extended his arm towards his stuffed fish still laying in the room. His father quickly ran in and grabbed it for him.
âVivian letâs go.â He said.
Their mother turned around and spat at her sister.
ââŚI trusted youâŚMy god, Cressida I trusted you!â She yelled.
âVivian.â Their father called to his wife who was still up the stairs, holding on tightly to Veneer.
âHow? Why? Theyâre family.â Tears stung her eyes, âWeâre family Cressida!â
But there was no love for any of them in Cressidaâs heartâŚ. The only one she had felt love for⌠She glanced down the stairs towards their fatherâŚBut he had chosen her sister instead. She hated her, she hated her little spawns as well, especially VeneerâŚhe reminded her so much of him, their father.
âGet out.â Cressida spat. Their mothers heart broke as she saw no love in her sisterâs eyes. Was there any love ever? Vivian always loved Cressida, always cared for herâŚher only sister.
âVivian. Please.â Her husband called out. Holding Veneer close she ran down the stairs to join him. They both held each of their children as they went to their car. Their father placed Velvet in the back.
âI want to ride with them.â Their mother said. He touched her face and nodded. He got into the driver's seat and drove off. She didnât bother buckling them in, she held each one close in her arms, tears falling down her face, and she placed a kiss on each of their heads.
âIâm so sorry my babies. Sheâs my sister. I thought I could trust her.â
âItâs okay, mommy.â They said in unison, holding her close and tight.
ââŚ.I think she was hurting Vennie for a whileâŚâ Velvet whispered. Their father looked in the rear view mirror meeting his eyes with his wifeâs.
âWhat?â She looked down at her son, his face slowly starting to swell where she hit him. âVennie, and you didnât say anything?â
ââŚI didnât want to ....sheâs family.â
âNoâŚNo sweety, family does NOT do that to each other. Do you hear me?â She held his little face in both her hands. She placed a kiss on his forehead. âI am so sorry. I am so sorry.â She hugged them both again.
âNo one is ever going to touch you again like that. Not while me and your mother are still around. You hear that.â Their father exclaimed⌠No one would ever touch his babies againâŚ

Fanfic on how Veneer Got his pet goldfish, and when the fish died??
:Dâ¤ď¸
Hi pookie! You got it! So Veneer had always wanted a pet. Since a kid he was fascinated by animals. In this particular story, he lives in Mount Rageous. Now if you come to think of it, itâs a very superficial and synthetic culture. Not a lot of nature going on. Youâre lucky enough to have some sort of pet. Veneer has always wanted one, but has kind of an issue to where having one is hard:
Sparkles
âSo having a dog or cat is not an option?â Vivian asked, the twins mother.
âUnfortunately, not. He has enough breathing problems already. The fur of the animal will only aggravate him more.â
She turned to her son. Veneer was sitting on the hospital bed playing tic-tac-toe with Velvet, a tube connected to his nose. He had another breathing attack. It was his sister that found himâŚlying on his bedroom floor, nearly blue. The doctor said if she was a minute too late, it would have been fatal.
âHeâŚ.he gets lonely. Veneer canât do much with the other kids at school. No one is patient enough to just sit with him, except his sister. HeâŚâ His mother began to break down in tears, âDoctor he doesnât have any friends. As mother that justâŚthat just hurts that he is over looked just because of his condition. While his sister can go to school some days, he stays home, heâs not invited to any parties, no one comes to his. What do I do?â She sobbed.
The doctor placed a hand on Vivians shoulder. She sighed and wrote on a piece of paper handing it to the twins mother, âThey may not be a cat or a dog, but these types of pets should suffice for your son.â She smiled tenderly.
âThank you.â She whispered to the doctor. Vivian composed herself before turning to her twins, âAlright guys! Time to go home.â
Veneer had to spend the next two days home from schoolâŚThat Friday evening, Velvet had gotten an invitation to a birthday party from one of the girls in their class.
âDid she send one for me too?â Veneer asked sitting up on his bed, the tube still connected to his nose and hand, pushing fluids through his body.
ââŚNoâŚNo she didnât. I asked her butâŚâ Velvet looked away.
âBut what?â He asked.
âShe said you werenât invited because she didnât want you getting people sick.â
âOhâŚ.â A moment of silence passed between the twins. Velvet looked at her brother, she saw the tears forming in his eyes. He tried fighting it, but he failed, one by one they fell down his cheek and on to his covers.
âForget her. Iâm not going to her stupid party anyway. She likes unicorns.â Velvet made a disgusted face.
âVelsâŚYou like unicorns too.â He gave her a serious look.
âYeah, but I like the cool unicorns.â
âThere are no cool unicorns! Now dragons are cool!â Veneer exclaimed, a smile coming across his face. Thatâs what Velvet wanted to see. Did she want to go to the party? Yes, but not when it would hurt her brothers feelings. He NEVER got invited anywhereâŚand she hated itâŚ..More silence.
âVels, you need to go.â She looked at him quizzically, âYou need to have friends. Donât be alone because of me. Eventually Iâll make friendsâŚfor now I have you and mom, and dad! Itâs okay Vels. GoâŚfor meâŚplease.â He pouted his lip and widened his eyes.
âNoâŚno! Donât do that!â But that made him pout his lip even more, âUgggggh. Fine! But Iâm definitely spitting into her cake before she eats it!â
That evening Veneer spent his day alone in his room. He read comic books, drew, watched TV, played video games. When his parents came up to see him, he was writing somethingâŚHe was writing how he wanted a friend, it didnât matter who or what, big or small, he just wanted a friend.
âWhat you writing about kiddo?â His father sat at the foot of his bed.
âNothing!â Veneer held his journal near his chest, hiding it from the view of his father.
âOkay, okay. I get it. Big boy now has secrets.â
âI- no theyâre not secrets.â Veneer looked away. His mother came in, holding something behind her back. Veneer grew curious, looking back and forth between his mother and father.
âSweetie, now, you know why you canât have a dog correct?â His mother asked him. Veneer nodded. âWell, the doctor said just because you canât have a dog, doesnât mean you canât a little companion.â She brought forward what she was hiding behind her back. Encased in a pretty little bowl was a beautiful little goldfishâŚexcept, he wasnât entirely gold. As he swam and hit the lights, his scales reflected red, gold, and yellow hues, shining and shimmering. He was beautiful.
âWhoa.â Veneer grasped the bowel gently in his hands, squishing his face on it. âHi!â The small little fish took notice of Veneer and stared at him curiously, nearing him. âHeâs so pretty!â
âHeâs going to need a name.â His father stated. Veneer looked at the goldfish. He saw how his scales sparkled in the lightâŚThatâs it!
âSparkles. I am going to call him Sparkles!â
âWelcome to the family Sparkles.â
Vivian saw a complete change in Veneer in the next couple of weeks. He seemed happier. He took his dedication to caring for Sparkles seriously. Veneer researched the best foods to give him to live a good life, he saved up his allowance money to buy the fish a bigger tank, toys, rocks he could hide in. His parents would walk in on him talking to the goldfishâŚwhat was beautiful, was that the fish recognized him, his voice. When Veneer was around, the tiny fish would swim out of hiding and swim around next to him. If Velvet or anyone else entered the room, Sparkles would go back into hiding.
The year went by, Veneer bought him a smaller bowel to take the fish with them to small outings or have him around during his birthday and holidays. Veneer would try to talk about his pet goldfish at school, but no one seemed to care. Lame, they would tell him.
âNo heâs not! Heâs really cool. He does tricks!â Veneer exclaimed.
âFish are stupid, they canât do tricks!â The kids would tell him.
He wanted to show them, he wanted to show them that goldfish were not stupid, that they were amazing. One day, he had planned to take Sparkles to show and tell. âWeâll show them Sparkles. They tend to over look little things like us just because weâre different.â He leaned his face close to the tank. Sparkles swam near Veneer in circles, booping his little face near Veneers. âGet ready for a show tomorrow buddy!â
The next morning Veneer woke early to get Sparkles ready in his travel bowel. He tapped the glass gently, âSparkles. Come one out. I want to give you food before we leave.ââŚ..Nothing. âSparkles.â Veneer maneuvered around the tank to see if he could find the fish, but he couldnât see him. Normally Sparkles would come out at the sound of his voice and that tapping of the glass. He kept looking and lookingâŚ
âSparkles! There you are!â Veneer saw a tiny fin peeping out of the little rock he had gotten him. âSparkles.â Veneer called out againâŚbut he saw the fish wasnât movingâŚhe was just floating there. âSparkles?â Again, no movement. âMom! Dad!â
His parents came barging in fear that their son was hurt or having an episode, Velvet trailing close behind. Veneer was in tears standing by the tank.
âSomething is wrong with Sparkles.â He cried. Their father moved close, he saw the small fish turned on its side..he was still, very still. âDaddy whatâs wrong? Do we have to take him to the doctors?â
âNo sonâŚIâŚHeâŚâ He looked at his wife unsure how or what to say. Veneer glanced his at his mother.
âMommy?â
She sighed. Walking up to her son, she knelt down to get at eye level with him, âSweetie, I think Sparkles may have gone to heaven.â
âWhat?â Veneer walked over to the tank. He tapped it and called out the goldfishes name again. âButâŚbut he was fine last night! He ate and was next to me the entire time! How..What happened? Was he sick like me?â Veneer gasped and began to cry uncontrollably, âMommy did I give Sparkles my sickness! Mommy, Daddy is he dead because of me!â Veneer hugged the little bowel close to his chest, his forever empty little bowel.
âOh, no, no, no! No that is not what happened.â She hugged Veneer tightly. âSweetie, all our time here is limited, including goldfish. We donât know how old he really was. What matters is that you made whatever time he had with you happy. You gave him a life worth remembering. Thatâs what you have to do now, remember the good times you had with him.â
Velvet couldnât help but wipe some tears away. It hurt her to see her brother so distraught, especially after a stupid goldfish, but that little fish made him happier than he has ever beenâŚ.
That day he didnât go to school. He stayed home crying over Sparkles. Veneer gained enough strength to go outside and pick out a stone. He pained a small goldfish on it and wrote the name âSparklesâ. His father called in from to stay with him. He helped burry the small goldfish, placing the rock on top of the small burial sight.
âWant to go to the store tomorrow and buy another?â His father asked. Veneer shook his head. Yes, there was other goldfish, but there would never be another goldfish like Sparkles. Loosing something so small, Veneer didnât realize it would hurt so much. After that he didnât want another pet. This was a pain he didnât want to feel ever again.
