Hey guys it’s cheekios. I have been really struggling lately. Losing my job + only pair of glasses being destroyed I hate to do this. I have no choice to play catch up to stay afloat. This loan will just keep collecting interest. Would really appreciate help with goals this month.

he loves to give you shit (jokingly) abt not verbalizing what you want
when you get all flustered on his lap from making out, he'll abruptly stop kissing you and be like "well, that was nice." AND GOES TO MOVE YOU OFF OF HIMSELF LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED and you choke on your words, clinging onto his sweatshirt to stay on his lap. "w-wait" you barely squeak out. "nah, i gotta go sweetheart." he says, continuing to get up, even though you both know he's just messing with you. "but-" you pout, so sexually frustrated that it's all you can do. "hm? somethin' you want?" he rasps, running a thumb along your bottom lip. you nod repeatedly, subconsciously rocking your hips against his lap, trying to make him understand what you're feeling without the embarrassment of saying it. your face gets so hot that you cover it with your palms in defeat. matt clicks his tongue in distaste, lightly grabbing your wrists and pulling them away so he can see you. revealing your flushed expression, he shakes his head with a little laugh to himself. "you know i always give you want you want," he leans back against the couch like how he was before, kissing your neck up to the shell of your ear slowly. his tongue swipes and nips at the sensitive skin before taking your earlobe and giving it a little bite. "just gotta ask."

Tumblr media
Previous. Next.
Pairing: Paige Bueckers x Rival!Reader
Warnings: swearing, suggestive jokes/language, tension
Summary: having Paige’s number means she can bother you whenever she wants, but maybe a night out with her isn’t a bother at all.
A/n: enjoy guys 😇lmk what you think of this one
YOU
is this paige?
???
Has anyone else given you their number since you got here?
YOU

PAIGE

PAIGE
Only the best in town 😉 u shud def go
YOU
ugh I would but i have to see if elaine can take me cus my teammates are busy
PAIGE
I could take u if u want?
YOU
typing…
YOU CAN FEEL yourself getting socially drained as you text her, at least that’s what you tell yourself. Paige is infuriating and arrogant, which comes with the deadly additions of charisma and the ability to keep you on edge with every word spoken, or even typed.
You’d always known of this, even before your game with her that day. A player like Paige can be hard to come across; perfectly capable, talented and independent yet somehow the best team player out there, sharing passes she can without a doubt make. Why? Because she doesn’t need to prove anything.
It often bothered you, especially since you constantly needed to prove yourself during the start of your college career. You took every shot you could get your hands on, and she gave shots away like candy whilst still having a huge reputation as a player. Obviously it went deeper than that, but the simple fact just stuck to your brain.
You can’t help but recall her face, inches from yours attempting to pry your ball from your grasp. Like she was deserving, like it was hers for the taking. She had made a similar face on the panel where she dissed you soon afterwards, and then again while watching you at the bar, and just before writing her number on the napkin. You wondered if she was making that face right now as she texts you.
PAIGE
I could take u if u want?
The text is simple but it summons some sort of unique feeling in you. Paige Bueckers is offering to pick you up in her car, on her night off, and take you to a restaurant. And you, for whatever reason, are considering saying yes.
Sighing to yourself, you weigh your options. Option one: you sit around your hotel alone till your teammates come back, most probably drunk from a bar since it’s a Saturday. Option two: you ask Elaine to take you out once again, even though you’re probably gonna see her the whole week you’re here. Option three: you let the girl who shit-talked you at a post game conference take you out for dinner.
YOU
i guess i should go out. DONT act like ur doing me a favour tho….n if I don’t have fun i’m blocking u.
PAIGE
Drop the addy. I’ll come by in an hour
Seen.
After hurriedly pulling yourself together, taking an Advil, checking out the restaurant’s Instagram and getting ready you can’t help but find your heart steadily hammering inside of you. Paige is coming to your hotel. You’re gonna be in her car. She’s taking you to her favourite restaurant. This has to be the most peculiar thing that has happened all year.
-
The car ride is significantly better then you expected it would be. Paige adamantly seems to prevent any room for awkward silence to seep through, commenting on your outfit and filling the vehicle with music that makes the interior buzz from the volume. She has a free look on her face, chair reclined more then you’d dare if you were in the drivers seat, hair blowing in her face from the windows being down.
“I’m surprised you’re driving me out.” You say, finally airing what was on your mind.
Paige shrugs. “Didn’t feel like drinking today. Plus, I’m in the mood to be generous and show you what Storrs has.”
“If someone told me I’d be hanging out with Paige Bueckers like a week ago, I think I’d be fucking appalled. Or disgusted. Or both.” You laugh.
She chuckles, glancing at you sneakily. “You swear a lot, don’t you?”
“Awe my bad.” You pout, giving her a fake-concerned look. “Forgot you can’t handle a little language.”
“I can handle it,” she grumbles. “I just think cursing is better for specific situations.”
“Like what?”
Paige wets her lips almost sheepishly, but she keeps her eyes straight on the road. “Like sex.”
A beat passes before you respond “Sorry I couldn’t savour a couple words for you and your little kink.”
She looks over at you now, and you meet her gaze as equally as you can. She just lets out a smile, shaking her head to herself as she pulls into the parking lot. You try to ignore the elevator-sinking feeling in your stomach from her words as you get out from the car.
The restaurant is beautiful. It’s cozy, ambient and well decorated. Not too fancy and not too full, just perfect. You’re seated in a more secluded area, per Paige’s request. She orders for you, insisting she knows exactly what to get for the best possible experience.
The food is good, and you don’t feel the need to hide it from Paige, who visibly grows at your praise for the place she picked out.
“So, are you jus in Connecticut for Elaine?” She says.
“Not really.” You reply. “Me and some of the others are just doing a little East Coast road-trip. I wasn’t really interested in coming to Storrs, but it made sense to come by and see her.”
“For a whole week?” She raises her eyebrow. “Seems like you’re close.”
“I was only gonna stay in Storrs for a couple days, then go to Hartford but the girls seem to like it here.” You shrug. “They think it’s cute, being a small town and all, but it’s pretty boring if you’re not a student.”
“It’s better if you’re with fun people.” She smiles.
“I hope you don’t think you’re fun.”
“Compared to Elaine I definitely am.” Paige scoffs.
You can’t help but feel a little more hostility than humour in her tone.
“Do you guys know each other?” You ask, as sly and innocent as you can muster. Paige seems hesitant.
“Nah.” She finally decides. “I mean, we’ve talked before. Ion know her personally.”
“It’s kinda funny, she said she doesn’t pay much attention to you but I think she might have a little crush.” You laugh.
Paige visibly stiffens at this, which catches you by surprise.
In a split second she regains her calm, unbothered composure. “What has she said?”
“Not much.” You shrug. “Just seems a little interested.”
Paige’s jaw clenches for a moment, and you’re not surprised when she changes the subject. “How many people have been on your case since I posted that picture of us from the bar on my story?”
“God, so many.” You laugh, shaking your head. “You?”
“You don’t even wanna know.” She scoffs. “Not sure why everyone was so crazy bout it though, s’not like we were beefing for real.”
“Right!” You say, happy she seems to be on the same page. “It was just some petty crap. I guess people just really were hoping there would be some rivalry.”
You think for a moment, before saying. “Maybe we should keep this drama thing up. Might be fun.”
“It’s a lil too late for that,” Paige shakes her head with a slight smile. “remember how KK and Ice were on live yesterday at the coffee shop? Yeah, we kinda were in the background at some point. People saw us talking.”
“You’re joking.”
“Dead serious. There are edits and everything.”
You rest your head in your hands, elbows on the table, lessening the proximity between you and her. “I only get into these weird ass situations when I interact with you, Paige.”
She sits up in her seat, blue eyes quickly looking you up and down. “Yet you’re still here.”
“Girl’s gotta have fun.” You shrug. Her foot hits yours under the table, her eyebrow raised as if challenging you. You have a sudden thought of going under the table and letting your hands unzip her cargo pants, but instead you just kick her back.
“Wanna go?” She asks. You don’t want to go back to the hotel, and she seems to pick up on it. “The area we’re in is nice. We can walk around a bit.”
You smile and nod. “Split the bill?”
“Fuck no.” She shoots you a look, pulling out her credit card from the back of her phone.
“You cursed!” You exclaim, to which she scoffs.
“I said it’s alright in specific situations.”
Now it’s your turn to scoff. “Well we’re not having sex, are we?”
The way her eyelashes flutter at your question gives you jitters. “Aight, stop talking.” She finally manages to respond. You just send her a look that you hope makes her nervous.
-
“You’re not funny.” She grumbles, attempting to grab your phone from you.
“Back off, Bueckers! I’m serious.” You laugh, sidestepping her with your phone above your head. The street was empty and the lights were on, putting the two of you in a yellow glow against the night. You’d been walking around the neighbourhood, observing houses and learning a bit about Storrs for the past hour.
“Give me your phone, I know you ain’t deleting those.” She huffs, grabbing for your phone. You try to escape her grasp but she’s got longer limbs, so eventually your phone is in her pocket and she’s wearing a proud look on her face.
It’s nice to walk in the quiet of evening, her beside you. You have no idea where you are but you can’t help but trust she can get you back to the car in no time. Not just yet though.
You turn to look at Paige almost shamelessly. There’s just so much to observe with her. Her confident posture, toothy smile, sleek straightened blonde hair, even the baggy cargo pants and sweater. She always looked good, it never failed to annoy you.
“Either your pants are too tight or crazy baggy.” You note. She just raises her eyebrow.
“Sounds like you just want me to take my pants off at this point.”
“Wouldn’t mind a little show.” You reply almost instantly, shocking yourself at the surge of confidence. She doesn’t seem taken aback, in fact she’s intrigued.
“Is that your usual routine? Have a meal out then have a meal at home?”
“Maybe it is.” You shrug. “I never object to a wine n dine.”
“And what exactly would you object to?”
“Cocky girls who think they’re the shit.” You say, turning your head to face her. You don’t mean to target her, but she simply smiles.
“Is it really being cocky if I can back it up though?” Paige asks quietly. You’re not walking anymore, stuck in place on an empty path between buildings. She’s closing in on you until your back hits a brick wall. The way Paige is staring down at you, hands in her pockets, lip between her teeth. It’s nothing you’d object to, ever.
“I won’t believe it till I see it.” You mutter, holding her eye. The air is tense in a new way that you haven’t felt with her since you first met in the bar. Her face is entrancing.
Paige’s hands lift your jaw upwards, and she leans into your ear. “You might not see it,” she mumbles, breath hot against your skin. “But you’ll definitely feel it.”
When she pulls back from your ear she stays hovering just above you, hands chastely holding your head up. You’re in the perfect position to kiss, and you can’t stop your eyes from darting between her electric stare to her lush, pink lips.
You can literally feel her breath on your mouth when a piercing ring cuts through the moment. It’s coming from her pocket, and she pulls out your phone. Paige’s face twists as she reads the screen. “It’s Elaine.”
“Just- just decline it.” You rush out, not caring how desperate you sound. You can feel how wet you are, and the lack of heat against you is blaring.
“She texted you too.” Paige scoffs. “She’s waiting for you at your hotel.”
You don’t even know what to say. Paige’s face is expressionless. You’re disappointed, but there’s no point in begging. Nothing really happened.
“Let’s get you home.” She says, starting to walk back from where you came. “Shouldn’t keep her waiting.” Her tone is dripping with toxicity. It makes you shiver.

girls
aitana bonmati x fem!reader
desc: kinda implicit smut but not much, still rated 16+ please!! also kinda short - im sorry its exam season and im dying 😭😭
Tumblr media
aitana knew from a young age that she was into girls, when her highschool friends spent their free time talking about boys, she could never find it in herself to involve herself in the conversation. not many people knew about her sexuality, only ona and keira had a slight idea of it, after seeing aitana go home with a woman on one of the team night outs. if anyone asked aitana about her sexuality, she wouldnt lie, she would tell them confidentially that she was a lesbian, she wasnt ashamed of who she was after all.
the reason why hardly anyone knew, was that aitana didnt do relationships. most people on the team already knew that, aitana prioritised football over everything especially after 2023 ended, and as the awards kept stacking up, her winning mentality only increased, she put all of her time into making herself better.
that didnt make the spaniard inexperienced in the sexual aspects, and was never one to turn down a woman at the bar, but aitana preferred to skip the flirting, and get out of the club as soon as possible, especially before someone like mapi saw, who aitana knew would tease her all day at training.
however, since you joined the team, aitana didnt care about mapi seeing anymore, and instead focused on trying to not let you see, aitana wasnt sure why she was so against the idea of you knowing she was going home with another woman. but each time the midfielder spotted you sat down, laughing with your fellow lionesses at the table, the midfielder couldnt help but feel guilty as she let the other woman tug her towards the door.
as aitanas hookups increased, so did the pit of betrayal at the bottom of her stomach. but after one night, when thoughts of you plagued her mind as a girl that she didnt even know the name of came undone on her fingers, she knew she had to stop. normally, aitana lasted a few rounds, however this time her skills in the bedroom couldnt change her hookups mind, as aitana did the walk of shame out of this girls house after accidentally moaning your name as she came.
aitana did stop though, nearing around 4 months without a single girl, however the longer the period of time she spent without anyone, the more time she spent daydreaming of you. the main issue was that aitana was hardly even friends with you, sure the two of you had chemistry on the pitch, but off the pitch, the spaniard had no idea about you. aitana could just go on google or youtube to find out some facts about you and watch your interviews (which she had already done) however, anyone could find this out about you, aitana wanted to know things that the internet didnt. and to do that, she needed to try talk to you.
———
aitana liked to think of herself as a confident person, it took a lot of courage to heartlessly tell someone that they are nothing more than a hookup, but aitana hadnt thought about the fact that she had never had to see those women again. if you rejected her, then aitana would still have to see you each day at training, and she didnt think she could live with the embarrassment and awkwardness of that.
so she decided to first ask you to get a coffee with her after training, she knew lucy had brought you to training, so she could give you a lift back as well. aitanas plan was to befriend you first, and then try figure out if you reciprocated her feelings or not.
so when aitana decided she would offer to spot you, she didnt anticipate her body freezing up with nerves as she was about to ask you, which unluckily happened at the same time you failed your rep and actually needed aitanas help.
due to your intense sets, you were breathing unevenly as you tried to get aitanas attention, except gasping out “tana” didnt help the brunette anymore. instead her face blushed crimson, the spaniards pent up neediness for an orgasm from somebody other than herself was getting to her, and her mind couldnt help but think of how good you sounded saying her name.
her short daze was broken by you once again saying her name, as she quickly took the bar off you, repeating “lo siento” as you still gasped for air. when you grabbed onto the brunettes bicep for support, struggling to hold your self up after having your oxygen supply restricted for too long. you couldnt help but notice the muscle flexing unconsciously below your fingertips, which only seemed to make you feel more lightheaded.
“dios mio aitana, are you trying to kill me?” you wheezed out with a raspy chuckle, only to be met with silence from the midfielder and her holding up your water bottle to you. “you know im not mad at you, right tana?” you asked the spaniard, uncomfortable at the thought of her thinking your mad at her. “si, yes i know y/n, are you sure your okay?” she asked, as she gathered the courage to start rubbing comforting circles on your back. only when ona came up to the two of you, asking the both of you what happened accompanied with a knowing glance shot at aitana, did her hand stop rubbing circles on your back. the brunette instead let her hand fall, so it rested dangerously low on your lower back, causing you to shiver involuntarily.
you decided to call off your gym session early, you couldnt keep aitana off your mind, and your back still tingled where her hand had once rested. aitana decided to accompany you and drive you home, claiming she “owed it to you” after almost ending your life. despite the girls actual reason to take you home being she wanted to build her friendship with you, you suspected the midfielder just felt bad. never once did it cross your mind to ask what it was that had aitana so distracted during your workout.
———
your apartment was a 10 minute drive from the training grounds, however aitana had decided to take a detour, claiming that it would be faster due to the bad traffic in barcelona. however, after almost 45 minutes in the car, you were beginning to get tired, you were having a great conversation with the brunette who currently had one hand resting on the steering wheel, expertly navigating round the quieter streets of barcelona. as you looked over at the midfielder, you couldnt help but admire her side profile, and the way her eyebrows furrowed in concentration as she tried to remember the route.
a quick glance at the street you were currently at, on the map displayed by the screen of her car, had you internally groaning in frustration as you realised you were still half an hour away from your apartment.
“aita, are we almost there? im tired” you asked the midfielder, who now had a look of shock and suprise on her face.
aitana hadnt even realised how long she had been in the car with you for, she only meant to detour and make the route 10 minutes longer, not an hour. even the detour was only so she had enough time to build her courage to ask you out for a coffee.
“oh- yeah almost y/n! uhhh- like, another.. 30 minutes?” she said sheepishly, before quickly rushing out “¿Te gustaría tomar un café conmigo mañana?”
“aita, i dont speak spanish remember? especially not at the speed you just spoke at!” you said with a laugh.
fuck. aitana thought. although she had managed to ask you out, her nervous state had completely forgot to translate it into english so that you would understand. her adrenaline of asking you was wearing off, and she felt her previous nerves almost skyrocket at the thought of having to ask you again, especially now your full attention was on her.
“uhhh- get a coffee with me? i mean- uh, would you like to? to get a coffee with me? its fine if not- uh, it can just be as friends? if we are friends that is! its fine if-“ until aitanas state of rambling was cut off by you who although found her flustered state very amusing, was starting to feel pity for the spaniard who was struggling to even form a sentence at this point.
“i would love to aitana, its a date!”
“it is?” the midfielder said, receiving an encouraging nod from you, “it is!” she said more excited now, making you laugh at her excitement.
———
to other people, it would probably look like aitana had been stood up, but in reality, she had just decided to arrive at the coffee shop an hour early to hopefully have a coffee or two before you came, and prepare herself in hope to not embarrass herself too much in front of you.
the coffee shop she had chosen was one she had been to for years, it was relatively popular amongst locals, and was a small, cozy, family owned business, that aitana had grown to love.
as soon as you walked in the shop aitana requested to meet you at, you were met with aromas of roasted coffee beans and fresh pastries, you scanned the shop for the midfielder you had grown to love, and saw her sat at a window seat, with an empty mug infront of her.
“i didnt get the time wrong did i?” you asked her, glancing at her empty cup.
“no, no- i got here early” the brunette reassured, and outstretched her arms for a welcoming hug which you quickly accepted, the midfielder wrapped her arms around you, not wasting the opportunity to have you as close as possible. equally, you werent going to pass up the chance to have aitanas arms wrapped around you, especially as they were what you spent most of your gym time admiring as you did your weights, much to esmees amusement and annoyance, who was your usual gym partner.
as you pulled apart and sat down, aitana decided to go and order the both of you another coffee, coming back with two cinnamon lattes, your eyes widening in surprise as you realise she remembered your favourite drink that you mentioned during your rambling in the car yesterday.
the date went well, and much better than aitana expected, she managed to not embarrass herself at all, and left the date with a smudge of your lipstick on her cheek where you had kissed her goodbye, that she knew she would probably cry about when she had to wipe it off later.

One pill makes you larger,
And one pill makes you small
The bell above the door jingles as Eddie steps through the threshold, his shoulders relaxing as the warmth seeps back into him and he scans the racks of records before him. Perking up as he notices the music playing over the speakers, he was still getting used to how much cooler things were in Chicago than back home – and shit, how much cooler people were.
Eddie clocks you sitting on top of the counter with one leg crossed under you, the other swinging down the side as you sticker a stack of vinyl. You mouth along with the music, not even noticing him slip through the aisles as he stops in a random section with a perfect view of you across the small store.
He’d only come in here to kill some time between soundcheck and the gig tonight at a venue down the street. The rest of the band had gone to find some food, but Eddie wanted to check out the record store they passed on the drive in. And boy, was he glad he did.
He mindlessly flicks through the records in front of him, trying to come up with a good conversation starter. It wasn’t that often that he missed Steve Harrington, but he could sure use one of the boy’s famous pep talks right about now. Fuck, what was it about pretty girls that got him so tongue-tied? Probably the pretty part.
But you weren’t just pretty, you were obviously very cool, and he certainly wasn’t used to girls sharing the same interests as him – but he’d met a lot of them since he’d moved to Chicago a couple of months ago.
Just as he’s thinking about what albums he could pick out to impress you, the bell above the door jingles again. A guy around his age walks in, his short hair spiked, nose and ears pierced and tattoos peeking out from a crisp white t-shirt. He walks with confidence to where you sit and makes you jump slightly as he greets you boisterously.
“Shit, you scared me.”
He snickers and starts rummaging through a crate of cassettes by the counter.
“Yeah, you look like you were in the zone. Did you even notice you had a customer?”
You turn your head in Eddie’s direction just as he ducks his down, continuing to flick through the disco section. Wait, shit where’s the metal?
“Shit.” You whisper under your breath and turn your attention back to the other guy, not quite lowering your voice enough so Eddie couldn’t eavesdrop. “No, but in my defence this song is a banger.”
Severin, Severin, speak so slightly
Severin, down on your bended knee
“What the fuck are you listening to anyway?”
“I made a pre-Halloween mix. Music that led to goth before goth was a thing.” You frown as you try to unstick a bright red sticker from the price gun you’d been tapping on the pile of vinyl.
Eddie smiles to himself as he continues to pretend he’s browsing and not tuning into your conversation.
“Are you coming to The Allied tonight? There’s some new band from Indiana or something playing. Apparently, they do a sick cover of Master of Puppets.”
Eddie pauses in his faux perusing for a second as he awaits your reply.
“I wasn’t really planning on it, no.”
The guy huffs, “No? What was your plan, going home to sulk to The Velvet Underground?”
“I don’t sulk–“
“You do when you listen to The Velvet Underground.”
“What do you want me to do? Pogo to Heroin? Anyway, I was gonna work on an article actually.”
“Why don’t you write about this band tonight? Tim says they’re pretty good. He saw them a couple of weeks ago at the Metro.”
“Tim said that about that god-awful noise band that played at De Salle’s. It was the worst four hours of my life. I thought my ears were actually going to bleed.”
“Whatever, you say that like you’re not currently playing the most depressing German synth music that nobody in their right mind would listen to.” He points his hand in the air, drawing your attention to the new song playing from the speakers behind you.
“First of all, this is David Bowie’s Low. And if you knew as much about music as you claim to, you’d know that this was his seminal work in his Berlin era and an ambient soundscape masterpiece. Secondly–“
“I like it.”
Both of your heads shoot up at Eddie’s interruption. He blushes and clears his throat as you catch his eye and the corner of your mouth quirks up. “Sorry, I just–it’s a good mixtape. I like the theme.” He frowns and shakes his head at himself, he doesn’t know what came over him. Who is this guy that’s bothering you, anyway? You have amazing taste and he’s now sure you’re the prettiest girl he’s ever seen. You gesture in his direction and look back at the guy that’s teasing you.
“The customer is always right, Simon.”
Eddie moves quickly to the B section and finds the album you were talking about before heading over to you.
“Did you find everything you need?” You smile at him sweetly as you hop off the counter and take the record from him. “I’m sorry, I should’ve asked before. Customer service isn’t exactly my strongest skill.”
The guy, Simon, snorts. Eddie can’t take his eyes off the way your face lights up quietly when you realise what album he picked.
“What are your strongest skills?” That was such a weird question Munson, what the hell?
You look up at him a little taken aback, before a small smile creeps up on you.
“Talking about music…or” you shake your head in contemplation, “writing about it actually.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Maybe it’s not so much a skill, more like an obsession.”
“She’s actually kind of good.” Simon butts in with a shrug and you roll your eyes.
“Such a high compliment cuz.”
You were cousins. He still had a shot.
“You write for magazines?”
“Zines mostly,” you point to a stack of xeroxed pamphlets on the counter, “but I’ve published a few reviews with Spin and The Face.”
Eddie raises his eyebrows, “That’s pretty cool.”
You breathe out a laugh and take the cash he hands you, collecting his change. “Thanks.”
“Wait, you're Eddie, right?” He turns to Simon, almost forgetting he was there. “Your band’s playing at The Allied tonight? I met your drummer Gareth at a show last week.”
“Uh yeah, that’s me. We’re called Corroded Coffin.”
“Cool name.” You smirk and hand him his record wrapped in paper. Eddie tucks it under his arm, his dimples showing as he smiles back at you.
“Thanks.”
“You’re from Indiana then?” You call back to Simon’s earlier statement, as Eddie doesn’t make a move to immediately leave.
He rubs the back of his neck as he nods, “Yeah. Just moved here a couple of months ago with my band.”
“Welcome to Chicago, Eddie.” You smile and introduce yourself, “Let me know if there’s ever anything I can do for you…vinyl wise I mean.”
“Thanks,” he scratches the stubble on his jaw before stepping away from the counter. “Maybe I’ll see you tonight at the show?” He tries to keep his voice casual, but there’s a hint of hope in there.
You bite your lip and shrug, “Yeah, maybe you will.”
Eddie nods and takes his queue to leave, the bell jingling again as he steps back out into the cold.
“Yeah, maybe you will.” Simon mocks you in a breathy imitation and you roll your eyes. “So now that you know the singer is cute are you coming?”
“Obviously! You better get me on the door list, or I swear to god I’m telling Aunt Carol about the stash in your underwear drawer.”
***
“Hey, Carlos.” You greet your friend at the door of The Allied, who waves you in without payment. “That Darondo record came in, I put it aside for you.” You call back on your way in, hearing a muffled thanks as the music from inside hits your eardrums.
There’s a decent crowd tonight, and you have to push past a few people to reach the sticky top bar.
“Oh, she showed up! Surprise, surprise.” Simon makes his way over to you, ignoring the calls of indignance as he passes other customers. He slings a rag over his shoulder, which makes you bite your lip, attempting to hold in a laugh, remembering how he’d practised that move in the mirror when he turned twenty-one and landed the second most coveted job of your teenage selves.
You shrug nonchalantly, despite your cousin knowing the exact reason you’re here. “I ended up doing inventory ‘till late. Thought I may as well drop by before catching the L.”
Simon flicks your nose, your retaliating slap missing him as he moves to pour your drink. You thank him with a forced smile when he slides it across the bar, picking it up and turning to find a spot in the crowd.
“No tip?”
You call over your shoulder, “Yeah, take it easy on the cologne.” You smirk, not even having to turn around to know he’s probably sniffing his shirt.
You take your usual spot leaning against the wall, up the back and away from most of the crowd. Your rule was front row or back. None of that squished in the middle, view blocked by the tallest guy you’d ever seen crap. Either it was front and centre, immersed in the moment, or your own space with a view of it all.
You’d never be up front for a band you didn’t know, and tonight was no exception, no matter how large the butterflies in your stomach at the prospect of seeing him again.
You don’t know what it was about Eddie, apart from the obvious fact that he was gorgeous. Maybe it was something in his presence. But when he walked up to the counter earlier with a record you’d just been talking about and a shy smile on his face – you were a goner.
The murmurs of the crowd quieten when the house lights are switched off, a yellow glow on the stage and above the bar now the only sources of light.
There are a few enthusiastic cheers when the band appear from a door behind the stage and a smattering of applause as they take their place. You take a sip of your drink, ignoring the feeling in your chest when Eddie steps up to the mic and adjusts his red Warlock guitar. He smiles and you duck your head, trying not to look too much like the girl who’s just fallen for a lead singer when he addresses the crowd.
“Evening. Hope you brought your earplugs, this one’s new.” The quiet, reservedness of his introduction and the boy you’d met earlier is undone with the first crashing of cymbals and thrash of power chords.
Stage Eddie isn’t what you were expecting, but still somehow makes total sense. He’s more comfortable, more himself up there as he thrashes back and forth, hair whipping wildly. And they’re good. Really good.
Maybe you’d write about them after all.
The band are almost through their set when he spots you. Your back straightens as his eyes lock onto yours. Normally you hate making eye contact with someone on stage, but you can’t seem to look away when his chocolate-brown gaze twinkles over the heads of the rest of the crowd. In between songs, he gives you a wave, and you nod, returning his small smile.
When they finish, you move back to the bar. Waiting for the lingering fans to clear over a rum and coke. You’re only on your second sip when you feel a burning hot presence behind you.
“You made it.”
You turn around, and Eddie leans an arm on the bar beside you, moving in closer as the growing line pushes him forward.
“I did.” You nod, taking another sip of your drink.
He clears his throat, pushing his sweaty bangs away from his forehead.
“So, uh, what did you think?”
You smile, “I think you’re going to fit in very well here.”
“I hope that’s a good thing,” he chuckles.
“Oh, it is. You’re one of us now. Welcome to the dark side, Eddie.”
His eyebrows raise, the ghost of a smirk kicking up when you’re interrupted by your cousin.
“Man, that was sick! What can I get ya?”
Eddie thanks Simon, then looks back at you, “What are you having?” He holds up two fingers when you answer, signalling for another round, then starts playing with a beermat while you wait. Your eyes are trained to the glint of silver on his fingers.
“How are you liking Chicago so far?”
Eddie looks back at you and puffs his cheeks up as he exhales. “Honestly?... I didn’t know life could be this good.”
You feel a sharp tingling in your nose as your eyes well up a little for the boy standing in front of you, his cheeks dusted with pink as he tries to hold back a smile.
“Trust me, things are only gonna get better from here.”
“Yeah?” He beams at you then and you inhale deeply as you fight the urge to reach out and wrap your arms around him.
“Yeah.”
***
Eddie had seen you a few times since the gig at The Allied. Dropping into the record store when he could. In small crowds at gigs in the city. You’d greet him with a hug or a squeeze to the arm that never failed to get his heart rate going.
Today, he’d gotten off early from his temporary new gig at the auto shop and he found himself parked outside the record store.
It was overcast, but there was no bite to the air. A balmy wind tousling his hair as he ran across the street to the hole-in-the-wall coffee shop, avoiding the fat drops of rain that had begun to fall sporadically.
He spots you through the window when he makes his back to the store, bobbing your head along to whatever’s playing as you fill the racks. The now familiar bell jingles and he smiles when he recognises Joy Division over the speakers. He’d seen you in their shirt on more than one occasion.
He meets you as you're walking back to the counter.
“Oh, hey Eddie.” You smile and do a double take, taking in his greasy coveralls, and suddenly he’s wishing he’d gone home and showered. Even if it was an hour out of his way.
“Hey.” He places a coffee on the counter along with a white paper bag. “Thought you might like a mid-afternoon pick me up. I’ve uh, I’ve seen you with one of those cinnamon things before.”
Your eyes light up as you inspect the inside of the bag. “Oh my god, you’re my hero! Thank you, that’s so sweet.”
He shrugs, taking a step back from the counter, his own black coffee still clutched in his hands.
“So, this is the day job then huh?” You gesture to his outfit.
He scratches the back of his neck, “Yeah for now. Until the music starts paying off. If the music starts paying off.”
You nod, taking a bite of your cinnamon scroll and he can’t help but smirk at the way your eyes quickly roll to the back of your head. “It will.”
His free hand goes to his pocket, face hidden slightly by his hair as he tucks into himself at your confident statement.
“Thanks.” He turns around to start perusing the aisles.
“Oh, we will be getting the new Metallica album on the day of release by the way. I’ll put a tape aside for you.”
“Thank you.” He offers you a smile over his shoulder, and you tip your coffee to him.
He takes his time flicking through the rows, a few customers coming and going as he does, although he knows exactly what he’s looking for. Once the store is quiet again, he walks back over to you, selection in hand.
“Lee Hazelwood?” You take the record from him with a look of surprise.
He nods, “Yeah, I liked that song on that pre-goth mixtape you gave me. It’s like the kind of thing my uncle would listen to but…”
“Sinister.”
“Yeah.”
You smile, “It’s cool isn’t it? You know he actually wrote These Boots Are Made For Walkin’. Helped save Nancy Sinatra’s career after the teeny-bopper thing didn’t work out. They made a couple of albums together actually, and you know the first time he retired from the music industry was because the success of The Beatles’ made him depressed.”
He leans his arms on the counter as you talk. “Wow, you really are a wealth of knowledge for this stuff huh?”
You shrug, “What else is there?”
“Apart from books.”
You nod, “Good movies.”
He smiles, “Pizza.”
“Dumplings.”
“DnD”
You frown, “That nerdy board game?”
“No, uh d–dumplings like you said, and uh– dough–doughnuts?”
You scrunch up your face, “Okay,” and giggle at Eddie’s strained smile.
“So uh, what–would you–“ Not screwing this up at all Munson. “Would you maybe wanna do that together sometime? The pizza and dumplings, or probably one or the other I guess, and a movie, good music–“ he blows out a puff of air, scrunching up his face.
“Are you asking if I wanna go see a movie?”
“Yes,” he nods enthusiastically, “that and dinner. If you want.”
“I do like both those things.” You smile. “How about Thursday? I finish closing up at six.”
“Yeah. Cool. Thursday sounds good.” The guys and their weekly standing appointment for band practice would not agree.
***
Thursday rolls around faster than Eddie’s prepared for. Predictably, his bandmates all made fun of him for cancelling practice for you. But he just ignored the high-pitched ooohs and went to make sure his lucky Sabbath shirt was washed before he needed it.
He’s wearing it now as he paces outside the movie theatre, twisting his rings, oblivious to you sneaking up behind him until it’s too late.
“Boo!”
“Jesus Christ.” He jumps and twists around, your hands that had reached out to scare him still on his hips, his arms float in the air for a second before landing on your shoulders.
“You’re on edge,” you tease before your face sets a little more seriously. “You okay?”
“Y-yeah. Yeah, just uh, you wanna head in? It starts in like five minutes.”
You nod, your hands leaving his waist as his fall back to his sides. “What are we seeing anyway?” You look up at the black lettering above you, smiling just as Eddie reveals your viewing choice for the night.
“Thought we could see Young Frankenstein. Saw they were doing an old-school horror weekend here in the paper.”
“That sounds great.”
He lets out a breath of relief when you bump his shoulder affectionately, and you begin walking into the theatre side by side.
“Now the real important question Eddie Munson. What are your go-to movie snacks?”
His hand twitches when it accidentally brushes the back of yours.
“Well, popcorn obviously.”
“Obviously.” You nod.
“Sour Patch Kids and you gotta add a packet of Reese’s Pieces in there too.”
“Wait, in there as in–?”
“In the popcorn bucket. All of it. Like a good version of a trail mix.”
You grin, “Very interesting.”
“Just wait till you try it, sweetheart, you’ll never do it any other way.”
You laugh, “Okay, lead the way.”
He bows, gesturing his hand towards the confection stand. “After you m’lady.”
Your giggle, Eddie quickly finds out is his new favourite sound. When it appears again in the movie theatre, he can’t seem to keep his eyes on Gene Wilder, only watching you light up with laughter.
He can’t quite believe how well it’s all going. That is until you’re sharing a large pepperoni, on the bench outside the place you insisted served the best “pies” in all of Chicago, and your confusion stops his heart for a second.
He groans when he takes the first bite of cheesy dough.
“Good right?”
He nods, chewing and swallowing quickly. “My uncle told me pizza wasn’t a first date kind of meal, but we don’t have anything like this back in Hawkins.”
You’re sitting so close that he notices you still right away.
“Wait, this is a date?”
“Oh,” he swears his heart drops to his stomach as he sees the surprise on your face. “Oh well, yeah I thought it was but I guess I–it doesn’t have to be, sorry.”
You reach out to grab his arm when he instinctively moves away, “No! I just didn’t realise you were asking me out, out. You kinda just kept listing food.” He scoffs, shaking his head at himself. “I want it to be a date.”
He bites his lip, looking back at you with eyebrows raised, “Really?”
“Yes,” you laugh, squeezing the arm still in your hold. “Of course. I would love to…be on a date with you right now.”
He beams, “Well, it’s your lucky night sweetheart.”
***
The date (once it’s established as one), goes so well Eddie finds himself back at your apartment, admiring your wall lined with records while you find the both of you a drink.
His eyebrows marry together when he notices Dusty Springfield next to the Sex Pistols.
“What’s the system here?” You hand him a beer when you reappear by his side. “Not by genre?”
“No. Autobiographical.”
“Shit.”
“Yeah.”
“How–?”
“Well,” you step forward, reaching out to pick a plastic sleeve as if from memory, “if I want to find the song Landslide by Fleetwood Mac, I have to remember that I bought it for someone in the fall of 1983 but didn’t give it to them…for personal reasons.” You show him the white cover of the album.
“That sounds…”
“Comforting.”
He nods slowly, “Yes.”
“It is.”
God, you’re weird. And cute. And cool. And, shit he was going for it, you said you wanted to be on a date with him. You invited him back to your place. No one’s ever done that before. He should go for it. He’s going for it–
Your lips feel even softer than he imagined, and he can’t help but give himself a mental high-five when you immediately move closer to him, face melting into the hand that cradles your cheek. You taste almost vanilla-y with the combo of rum and coke still sitting on your tongue when his meets yours. He places his beer down on the coffee table, and your lips follow him when he has to dip down slightly before his free hand comes to sit on your waist.
You part for a breath, “Didn’t realise vinyl categorisation would get you so hot.” You tease him, lips plump and eyes slightly glazed over, and he’s never wanted anything more in his life than to keep you looking at him like this.
“Yeah uh, really love that Dewey Decimal system.” He leans close to capture your lips again, but you pull back, leaving him to chase you.
“The Dewey Decimal system is for books.” You shake your head.
Eddie huffs, “I really don’t care.” He finally finds your lips again and he swears they taste even sweeter the second time, despite being tainted by his own.
You guide him back to slowly sit on the couch, bodies falling a little clumsily together before you situate yourself in his lap, legs straddling his. You both stay like that for what could be hours for all Eddie cares, lips clicking in the silence.
“Fuck, I could kiss you all night.” He leans his forehead against yours, heavy breathing synced with your own, as you finally come up for air.
You shake your head, eyes soft and reassuring.
“I’m not going anywhere, Eddie.”
God dammit, is he glad he left Hawkins.

your lips, my lips number neighbor!matt x reader part eleven
y/n is already outside by the time matt pulls up. she’s telling herself that she doesn’t care that they’re about to spend the night together, doesn’t care that matt’s about to be in her bed, and doesn’t care that he drove all this way at basically midnight to see her, but she knows it’s a lie. she cares so much it might kill her.
when matt shuts his car off and steps out, y/n feels her stomach tie up in intricate knots. his hair is messy and fluffy and he has her favorite chain on. it’s addicting, the way his muscles flex as he slings his backpack over one shoulder.
he raises an eyebrow with a half smile when he sees her sitting on the curb in her pajamas. “someone’s eager.”
she stands, wiping the pebbles from her shorts. “of course i am,” it takes him off guard, his eyes watching her walk up to him. she takes the drink from his hand and takes a sip. “been waiting all night for this one.”
matt bumps her with his shoulder. “annoying.”
she says nothing as she leads him up the stairs to her apartment. it’s the first time he’s been physically inside, but matt pretty much knows his way around. with the amount that they facetime, he’s been propped up on every surface there was.
when they get inside, she leads him to her room where he drops his bag, then they settle in her small but comfortable living room. they’re sitting about four feet apart on her sofa, tv playing lowly. even though she shouldn’t, she feels semi-awkward. the nerves are pressing against her temple, headache forming. it’s ridiculous.
and like the ever-knowing being matt seems to be on all things y/n, he stares at her, eyebrows furrowed. “what’s wrong with you?”
she’s shaken out of her stupor. “what?”
“you’re acting weird.” he observes, eyeing her up and down. “and you’re quiet. you know i hate that shit.”
this makes her roll her eyes. “you tell me i talk too much constantly. like i’m pretty sure you’ve said it at least twice every day we’ve ever talked.”
“no, i say you talk a lot,” he rolls his eyes back at her. “never too much. for some ungodly reason, i like hearing you speak.”
it makes her warm all over. “going soft on me, matty?”
“enough with the matty shit.” his face is highly unamused and it makes her giggle. “why the hell are you all the way over there?” matt grimaces instantly. he goes to retract the words, but y/n beats him to it.
“wow,” she snorts. “that might be the most god awful thing you’ve ever said to me.”
“i didn’t mean it like that.”
“what did you mean it like, then?” she teases. one of her legs is folded underneath her and her body is turned towards him. “cause it sounded like a line.”
“barely.” he shakes his head. “i meant why are you being even more of a freak than usual?”
she pretends to be offended. “one of these days i’m just going to hit you on that big ass head of yours.”
matt laughs. something about it catches her so off guard she falters. maybe it’s the way his eyes catch the light and are shining brighter than usual. or maybe it’s the way she can see his teeth, which she has a strange obsession with, poking out under his top lip. maybe it’s just the fact that she is painfully aware that this man is becoming important to her.
it’s like autopilot, the way she crawls over to him. like he pulled a magnet out his pocket and aimed it directly at her chest. his body turns to her instantly and it makes her heart stutter. almost as if he was finely attuned to her movements. they’re face to face, inches apart.
they do the thing again. “hi.” she says, smiling.
“hi.” he says back, flicking his gaze down to her mouth.
“what do you wanna do?” she questions, pretending not to be distracted when he runs his tongue over his top row of teeth.
“i could think of more than a few things, really.” he says, in a tone that makes her want to pounce on him. “it’s all about what you want, sweetheart.”
shockwaves. through her entire fucking body. she keeps up the bit anyway, though. “all men are the same. only want one thing.” she kisses her teeth in fake dismay.
matt’s hand moves from his side to a stray hair framing her face. he pulls on the curl, releasing it and watching it bounce. he does it twice more before he says anything. his face is thoughtful. “i was thinking more like play a game, watch a movie, talk… you clearly have something else in mind.” he leans forward, bring his mouth to her ear. “dirty girl.”
y/n almost falls off the fucking couch with the way the shiver racks through her body. she puts her forehead on his shoulder. “you’re evil.”
matt laughs again, but he doesn’t reply. before her mind can go absolutely buckwild with salacious thoughts, she redirects it. when the idea pops into her head, she lifts it suddenly. it startles matt so much he moves back.
“what the hell?”
she doesn’t say anything as she stands, tugging him up with her. they’re half way to her bathroom when she says, “i have something we can do.”
matt just complies, following her lead. it’s becoming a trend for him. he kinda likes it.
*
“this is absolutely fucking ridiculous.”
matt has been grumbling since the moment y/n put the cat eared headband around his head. she thinks he looks absolutely adorable, but he thinks he looks crazy.
“finish washing your fucking face, matt.” she has a playlist on her home speaker, entire space filled with her favorite songs. she’s sitting on the closed toilet, bare faced and amused as matt aggressively scrubs his own with her face wash.
when he pats his face dry and looks at her, he has that painfully dry matt look on. his skin is slightly red but clear, and she thinks he looks so pretty it might kill her.
the words come out before she can stop them. “you look pretty.”
matt does a double take, stopping mid stretch. the red waistband of his boxers are peaking through the top of the pj pants he’s wearing, a different color than usual. god knows how many pairs he has. he probably bought and wore these specially to torture y/n.
there’s a smile toying at the corner of his lips. “yeah,” he says. “you too.”
she doesn’t let the blush form under her skin before she’s jumping up. “okay, face mask time.”
matt groans, rubbing at his jaw. he’s clean shaven, which she’s definitely noticed, which will help. y/n gets the tube and squeezes some into the bowl she grabbed, taking the small brush and dipping it in. and because she just can’t help it, she tells him to close his eyes and slaps it across his cheek.
matt flinches and stumbles back. “oh, you fucking-“ he sighs, opening his eyes. “i hate you.”
“i’m sorry.” she says, completely unbelievable through all her giggles. “i so couldn’t help it.”
he rolls his eyes, muttering a quiet, “pain in my ass.” while y/n gets to work actually applying the mask. it’s quiet in the small space save for their breathing. she can feel matt looking at her intently as she concentrates, no matter how hard she tries to block it out.
his eyes are intense, looking at her like she was the most interesting thing he’d ever seen. she can’t take it. “why are you looking me like that?”
she brushes under his eyes gently. “i like looking at you.” he shrugs.
her movements falter for a moment. “shut up.”
“i hate when you do that.”
she doesn’t know what he’s talking about, so she waits for him to keep going. “when i say things to you and you brush them off like i can’t possibly mean them.” he catches her hand, making her stop. “i don’t say shit i don’t mean.”
she’s speechless for the first time in her life. matt drops her wrist, so she continues. when she’s finally done, she admires her handiwork. it’s a funny sight, matt in a pastel green face mask, hair pushed back by a fuzzy headband.
“all done.” she says, gesturing for him to look.
“can’t believe i let you do this. i look like shrek.”
“not nearly as sexy.”
“you’re a sick person, you know that?”
when y/n turns to lean over the sink, ready to apply her own mask, matt stops her. she turns to him, confused. “what?”
“what?” he parrots. “i don’t get to do you?”
she grins, raising an eyebrow. he rolls his eyes yet again, “you know what i meant.”
“do you even know what you’re doing?” matt grabs the tool from her hand.
“nope.” he says, popping the ‘p’. “but i think i’ll manage.”
it’s sickeningly sweet, the way matt concentrates on the task at hand. how he takes extra care to outline her lips right. how he makes sure not to get it in her eyebrows. his own are furrowed tightly, eyes darting all around. he’s taking his time, pausing to look at his own reflection to make sure it looks the same.
when he’s done, he gives her a proud smile that makes her head spin. “now we match. shrek and fiona.”
“that might be the most romantic thing anyone’s ever said to me.”
“that’s concerning.”
matt grabs his phone from his pocket, pulling y/n to his side. his hand rests on her hip, fingers casually curled under the hem of her shirt. “smile or something.”
she looks at him, because she can’t help it. she wonders what planet he came from. she grabs his phone, flipping the camera, taking another picture. their faces are close, careful not to touch so they don’t mess up all their hard work. when she hands him his phone back, she catches a glimpse of him favoriting the picture before he slips it into his pocket.
fuck.
*
y/n is quite literally about to die.
not really, but the way that matt looks sitting against her headboard, her bedside lamp illuminating his face has her patience running thin. it’s like three in the morning, she thinks, or at least it was the last time she checked the time. after washing off their face masks, they returned to the living room, talking, laughing and snacking for hours.
matt had a way of listening, really listening, that made it even easier for her to talk. he asked all the right questions, laughed at all the right moments and teases her just enough to keep the conversation going. he wasn’t a big talker himself, but she noticed that the second he felt comfortable, he could go on forever. it made her feel accomplished.
they were in her bedroom now, because she yawned once and matt just had to make fun of her, saying it was her bed time and she couldn’t hang. she had a few words for him. none of them were appropriate.
she’s leaned against his shoulder watching a movie she’s seen probably six times before, cause he never had, debating on whether or not to make a move. his hand is on her thigh, just sitting there, and it’s been driving her crazy for twenty minutes now.
“the main character is fucking stupid,” matt says, voice deep and raspy. “why the hell would he-“
y/n doesn’t care about his thought, doesn’t care about this fucking movie and doesn’t care about anything other than kissing him. so she does. she turns his head to hers, slotting her lips over his.
matt falls into her immediately, hand finding her waist. she forgot how good he was at this. she wishes she kissed him the second he got out his car.
there’s a tiny bit of time where they stay like that, before matt gets fed up and pulls her into his lap. his hands find themselves on the swell of her ass, pushing her into him. she rocks back and forth, grasping everywhere her hands can reach. his shirt, his hair, his neck— she needs to feel it all.
“you,” matt says, breaking the kiss. “have to tell me-“ y/n can’t help but chase his lips. “-what you want.”
“you.” for once, she not she’s not thinking about whether or not it was too much to say. “i want you.”
matt smiles into the kiss, chuckling. “you have me,” he slides his hands up her sides, thumbs resting under the underside of her boobs. goosebumps break out. she forgot she wasn’t wearing a bra. “but i need you to be specific.”
she can feel exactly what he wants under the thin fabric of both their pants. she rocks her hips again, making matt groan. “fuck, y/n.”
she nods, trailing kisses down the base of his throat. “yeah, that’d be nice.”
matt flips her over, making y/n gasp when her back hits her mattress. “you piss me off so bad,” his lips leave a searing kiss on her throat. she’s letting out incredibly embarrassing sounds, mewls and whines that she just knows matt won’t let her forget later. she can’t bring herself to care. “cause why is it,” he sucks on her collarbone roughly, nipping the skin. “the one time i need you to talk to me,” he ghosts his lips over the valley of her chest through her shirt, “is when you want to be the woman of few words?”
she laughs, breathlessly. “maybe i just want to get you all riled up, matthew.”
he brings his face back up to hers, chain dangling above her. his eyes are alive, bright blue pinning her to her spot. “trust me when i tell you that you don’t have to do anything special for that to happen.”
the words are sexy, yes, but it’s the way he says it. it feels like a confession of sorts. like he’s telling her something without actually saying it. it sobers her up.
“yeah?”
“yeah.”
y/n tames her restless body, thinking for a moment. “is this okay?” she asks, uncharacteristically shy.
matt smiles softly, reaching up and pushing her hair out of her eyes. he places a gentle kiss on her lips. “more than okay. we could stay like this all night and i’d be happy.”
the mood shifts, from sinful to sweet. it may not be what she initially wanted, but it’s exactly what she needed.
matt settles down next to her, pulling her closely. they lay there, hands roaming and lips colliding, for who knows how long. they learn every dip and valley of each other, pressing buttons and soothing them too.
it’s tranquility and raw emotion. it knocks y/n clean off her feet. tomorrow, she’ll think about what it really means. tomorrow, she might even get in her head about it. but tonight, her and matt are laying in between her sheets, blocking the world out. it might be her new favorite place to be.
a/n: this was not even supposed to come out for a couple more days 🙄 but there were so many asks and i felt inspired so here it is!! it is so late LMFAO and i have to be up so early but it was so worth it because i really like this. i’ll probably post part twelve tomorrow night!! hope u liked this!! alr love u all byeeeee

Chris PoV
I feel dizzy.
But I love it, I love this.
I take another sip of my solo cup looking at all the people.
Back in high school I used to drink and smoke, and I even did some drugs at some point. But I had stopped after high school, after all, I thought that I could let loose and have fun, but that after high school that I’d start working.
Having been partying and drinking for my junior and senior year, staying sober for over two days was hard, but in the end I’d managed to stay sober for a whole year.
I wasn’t even the legal age to drink yet anyway.
I started smoking occasionally though, just to hold me off from alcohol.
Somehow we managed to become famous YouTubers, moving out to LA and living our dreams.
But being in LA meant getting invited to all sorts of parties. We usually just said no and that we wouldn’t go, mainly because of my past habits. But after a while our manager started to force us to, to make connections.
However being so close to alcohol, and being offered drinks and blunts all the time was fucking with me.
I started to smoke more, going from around one cigarette every two days to five a day.
It was a common fact that I’m a smoker in our fanbase. And I wasn’t proud of it. It is disgusting. But I would rather do that, before relapse back into my drinking habits. That’s at least what I told myself.
I started to unconsciously get colder towards Nick and Matt. I couldn’t help it.
So when an influencer texted me inviting me to some party, I agreed. I snuck out of the house at night, walked around the corner to the gas station, got an Uber and went to the party.
I put my phone on silent, turned off all trackers and snap map, as well as put it on airplane mode just to be sure.
But deep down I always knew that at the end of the day, if I do manage to get home without Matt’s help, I’ll still be drunk, they’ll know I relapsed.
But at this moment, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is getting drunk tonight.
This is the second drink I’ve had tonight. And I wasn’t even close to tipsy. Maybe I should play some drinking game?
I shrug to myself scanning the crowd of people. All people with faces that look like influencers. If that even makes sense. They just look like they do TikTok.
I shrug to myself. I glance over at the window to the backyard porch, seeing the backs of a few girls sitting there. I can’t see their faces and I don’t care to.
I look down at my drink, seeing the way it’s half empty now. I huff. Bringing the cup back to my lips again, I down the whole cup.
Jake and Johnnie come up to me. I make eye contact with Jake and purse my lips.
It’s a commonly known fact that I smoke tobacco, yes. But to everyone’s knowledge I don’t drink, and have never touched a drink In My life.
Well Matt and Nick haven’t, I never said I haven’t, but I wasn’t exactly open about my past with alcohol either.
Matt and Nick said they’ve never drank, wich is true. Yet I never agreed. I did say on that podcast that I do smoke.
“Yo Chris” Jake greets dapping me up. I give him a weak smile. “Hi guys” I respond with a slight smile.
I wish I didn’t know anyone here and could just get wasted in peace. I’d get wasted at home but I literally can’t buy alcohol
“I didn’t know you drink?” Johnnie asks taking a sip of a water bottle. I don’t know if they drink, all I know is that they’re old enough to. Unlike me.
“Well.” I shrug. I’m still standing in the kitchen so I just put down my empty solo cup for the time being.
“Aren’t you underage tho?” Jake asks raising an eyebrow down at me. He shifts on his feet. He wouldn’t stop me per se, he’d just quietly disapprove.
“Yeah” I shrug. I lick my lips glancing at the half empty beer bottle on the counter. I purse my lips contemplating if I should pour my solo cup full again.
Because on one hand I want to make it seem like this is the first time I’m drinking and that I’m innocent, but then again the temptation is too strong, and before I realize it I’m pouring my cup full again.
Both the boys in front of me were saying something about not drinking too much, but I wasn’t even paying it attention.
“-Just don’t drink too much, right, you can get drunk really fast.” Jake rambles on a smile present on his lips like he thought this was an innocent joke. Not like I just relapsed or anything.
I take a sip from the beer, feeling it burn down my throat. I don’t even make a face at it, if anything I relax more when the taste hits my tongue.
“You handle your alcohol well, wow.” Jake says half joking, having finally stopped his rant.
“Anyway, where are Nick and Matt?” Johnnie asks cutting Jake off before he can start yapping again.
“Home.” I mumble taking another sip.
“Oh why’s that?” He asks back his words questioning as he tilts his head slightly.
His eyes look really dark with the dark eyeliner he’s wearing, in the dimmed room.
“They just didn’t want to come.” I shrug. I feel like I’m being too direct and rude.
It’s funny. Whenever I’m sober, I act more cheery and extroverted. But I don’t feel good. When I’m drunk or drinking it’s the opposite.
“Huh?” Jake huffs questioningly. “Well this is the first time you’re drinking right? Were you planning to, or how did that happen?”
I think he thought that maybe some person gave a drink to me and that’s how I started drinking tonight. Because god forbid I wanted to get drunk and was planning on drinking here because shady parties like this are the only places I can get my hands on alcohol.
“No,” I pause making eye contact with both of them, before my eyes meet the beer in my cup again.
“It’s not.” I shrug.
They glance at each other before looking back at me and I feel their eyes burn through my skin.
“Well, drink responsibly.” Jake says again slowly. He wasn’t going to stop me. They were all for ‘you do you’. And besides it’s not that bad anyway it’s not like I’m alcoholic or something. “And don’t drive.” He chuckled jokingly, winking.
I let a slight smile take over my face. I close my eyes and shake my head slightly, letting out a dry chuckle.
Johnnie waves back at me as they start to walk off into the crowd of people in the living room.
Time flies.
I drink some more, wander around and what not.
I’ve taken a bunch of drugs before. Asides from the obvious like coffee, cigarettes and alcohol, I also used to smoke a lot of weed. I’ve done lsd, cocaine, ecstasy. A lot of ecstasy. And Xanax.
Well I took Xanax kind of on accident in sophomore year. Matt has anxiety, and it used to be really bad so he had prescribed pills to take. And one day I thought they were pain killers and took them.
It made me feel very euphoric but calm and relaxed at the same time. That was the first big deal drug I ever took.
I was never interested in not being sober. But when junior year hit, and I started to go to parties, I tried verity’s kinds of drugs because if the high Xanax put me on was great, how would stronger drugs be.
Tho at the end of the day I did that way less than just drinking.
I look around getting bored of just standing around. I walk out to the backyard porch to get some air. There is a couch in the corner on both sides.
What’s wired about these types of parties is that there are not just influences or that type of people here, but also low ranking celebrities.
Like actors and actresses with low status, up in coming singers, low ranking models and what not.
There is a girl all alone on the couch to my right. I glance at her, scanning her features. Our eyes meet. I’m not as drunk as I was planning to be, but the night is still young so whatever.
She looks like she could be a model. But for all I know she could be a really pretty YouTuber too.
She takes the blunt from between her lips breathing out a puff of the toxic smoke. She was smiling, the weed rolled into a perfect blunt.
“Hi?” She asks. Have I been staring? I purse my lips staring back at her. I kind of forget to respond before I see her raise an eyebrow at me.
“Hey.” I respond simply shifting on my feet to turn to face her. She nods to the couch next to her and I take the hint and sit down next to her.
I take a deep breath in, closing my eyes slightly. The cold LA air feels so good against my burning hot skin.
“You smoke?” She asks offeringthe blunt to me.
I lick my lips slightly. She seems pretty faded, she must’ve been smoking for a while here now.
I look over her features,my eyes taking in every detail.
I him in response, watching the way she holds out the blunt for me. I take it and put it between my lips. As soon as I feel the weed fill up my lungs I can feel my body relax.
I slump back into the couch giving her the blunt back while I breathe out the smoke.
“What’s your name?” She asks putting the blunt back between her lips and smoking it.
“Chris.” I say simply. She hands me the blunt once again. And oh, I didn’t realize we’d be sharing now, but oh well.
“You look like a YouTuber.” She says bluntly, tilting her head at me.
We get that a lot, we look like ‘generic tiktokers’.
I shrug. I turn my face to the side and blow out the smoke before looking back at her and offering her the blunt again. “Maybe because I am?”
She chuckles dryly and takes the blunt. She puts it between her plump pink lips. “I’m y/n” she mumbles around the weed before inhaling again. I watch the way she holds the blunt between her pointer and middle finger.
The way her hands look so delicate. The way her acrylic nails look.
“And what do you do for a living?” I ask rhetorically. A slight grin threatens to spread on my face.
“I model.”
“Never thought models smoke?”
“Well I do.”
She offers me the blunt again.
We talk for even longer. We both seem to be blunt and direct people. there was no messing around and beating around the bush.
After a while silence falls upon us again. This is the second blunt we’d lit by this point. She leans over and puts that blunt out on the ashtray on the couch table.
“You’re pretty you know that.” I blurt out. She sits back raising an eyebrow. Her body is turned to me and she just looks so pretty. If I could have my way and we weren’t at some LA house party right now, I’d eat her out right here on the backyard porch.
“Thank you?” She chuckles. And god how good she sounds.
Her words sound like silk. They flow so well together and her voice 100% fits her face.
While we were talking she said she’s from New York. Wich is great. I love meeting east coast people. There are not a lot in California.
She’s apparently from manhattan. I’d been there before.
She turns to me more and tilts her head teasingly. I lean in my eyes staying locked on hers.
I can’t help the huge grin growing on my face.
“Yeah” I breathe out. By now we’re so painfully close. I put my hand on her jaw holding her in place. I can’t help it when I glance down at her lips for a second.
She does the same tho and looks down at my lips.
So why would I draw out this moment any longer? I crash my lips on hers and feel her immediately react and kiss back.
The kiss is gentle but hard at the same time.
By this point I can barely feel the alcohol in my system, only the weed. And with us kissing that’s all I’m focused on. I can’t think straight, and not because I’m cross faded.
My eyes are shut trying to feel this as much as I can. This feels like a high. Whether that be because I am actually high, or if kissing her just naturally feels good.
I tilt my head slightly in an effort to deepen the kiss, feeling the way her arms wrap around my neck and pull me closer.
My hands go to her waist holding onto her.
But suddenly, before things can escalate, I feel my phone ring.
I pull away slightly our faces still close. I groan in Annoyance. I lick my swollen lips glancing back down at y/n’s that are also plump and kiss swollen.
I pull out my phone from my back pocked seeing Matt’s caller ID.
I purse my lips and hang up the call. I crash my lips back onto y/n’s. She sighs into the kiss and kisses back just as intensely.
But my phone goes off again. We ignore it just continuing to make out.
That is until she pulls away and licks her lips. Our eyes lock again, silence falling upon us, until she breaks it.
“Whoever is calling you really wants to talk.” I purse my lips looking at my phone on the couch between us.
I pick it up with a sigh. I sit back and turn back forward. I pick up the call and it’s Nick.
“Christopher Owen.” I hear nicks pissed off firm voice through the other line.
“Turn your location on right the fuck now.”
I sigh. I take the phone from my face turning off airplane mode and turning my location back on. After I do that I put the phone back to my ear.
“We’ll be there in 5” I hear Matt say loudly. He sounds mildly pissed off too.
“Whatever.” I groan dramatically. Why do they always have to hold me off from having fun.
I was just drinking a little bit. Like I didn’t even get drunk yet.
“Go to the front door, we’re almost there.” Nick says firmly to wich I reluctantly hum an argument.
I hang up the phone after it’s silent. I roll my eyes. I let my hand drop from my face to my lap, still holding my phone. I look over at y/n who is looking at me with a curious expression, but she wasn’t going to push it.
“I gotta go.” I say simply and get up.
I don’t glance back before i open the door inside again. I walk through the crowd of people pushing my way to the front door.
★ ★ ★
I sit at the front porch steps waiting for Matt to pull up.
When he pulls up mere seconds later Nick gets out of the passenger seat walking over to me. He looks more worried than angry.
I reluctantly get up. Nick keeps holding my arm just in case, but I really wasn’t that drunk. Sure I was not walking too straight, but it wasn’t like I was at risk of falling over.
He sits me down in the passenger seat Matt watching.
Nick himself gets into the backseat.
No word is said. Matt pulls into drive and starts to drive down the road. I close my eyes awaiting the eventual questioning and rants and whatever.
“Why’d you relapse?” Matt ask, simply getting straight to the point. Ripping the band aid right off.
“Sorry” I mumble. I open my eyes and turn my head to stare out of the window.
No song is playing, it’s just eerily quiet.
“No. Why did you relapse?” Nick asks his tone more firm. “Yeah you were doing so good” Matt adds with a sigh.
I let out my own sigh at the questions.
I don’t know why I relapsed.
It’s just something about LA that is so tempting. Partying is fun, and so is being drunk.
I’m pretty sure Jake and Johnnie must’ve told them. Somehow. After all, at this party, they were the only ones I actually knew. They must’ve texted or called one of them for some reason, resulting in waking them up.
And as soon as they were awake and checked my bed, they started to call me. Makes sense, whatever.
“Chris, you know, you need to talk.” Nick sighs frustrated.
“Why did you relapse?” Matt asks again glancing over at me for a second before going right back to staring at the road. “Is it the temptations of LA, is it your mental health,” he lists off the top of his head before sighing again. “What is it?”
“Chris we need you to tell us the root cause of this.” Nick says firmly. Honestly i should play drunk and pretend I don’t understand what they want from me, but I think they can tell I’m not legit drunk, just because of the fact that they’ve seen me actually blackout drunk before.
“I don’t know.” I say simply my tone staying low. It feels like my words cut straight through the thick tension in the room.
It’s like a re-opened wound.
“What do you mean you don’t know.” Nick scoffs. He was getting worked up, and I know that. I close my eyes for a second bracing myself.
“We thought you were better.”
We- it wasn’t just Nick that thought I got better, but also Matt, mom, dad and Justin.
“I did too.”
