|| Honestly fair warning, earning Nina's friendship or more is such a trip. Literally.

Some days you meet up and she barely talks, just shops on her phone, vibes w you in silence. Maybe invites you for drinks at a bar or to go shopping. Maybe a trip to a art museum, enjoy the high life together.

Others she's like "Want to take a helicopter out to this wreck of a cruise ship I sunk?" "Want to go street racing?" "Hey I know this great underground ring around here, want to go make some extra cash?"

|| Honestly, this is going to be long, but Nina's treatment towards Alisa in T6 is a conversation that should definitely be had.

Because sincerely, you can't tell me that Nina didn't subtly take out her resentment towards how she's been treated over the years on Alisa, specifically in the case of how she & Jin treated her in T6.

Like take a second.. Imagine this: You've unwillingly undergone a multitude of horrors in your life with the sole purpose of others wanting to turn you into this emotionless super weapon. You're described as "emotionless", "apathetic", "heartless", and "robotic" almost on a daily basis. — Then you meet this girl, this actual robot, not only seemingly capable of expressing more emotion than you ; an actual human being, but she was ordered to be built to do your job by your boss - arguably your closest friend - without him telling you a single word about it.

( Which, don't forget we've seen hints in the Titan comics how Nina feels about Jin hiring others to do her job: )

Then if that's not enough, add in the fact that the cryogenics research you were forced to take part in, the cryotube you were trapped in for nearly two decades? They never would have existed if it hadn't been for Bosconovitch wanting to resurrect the original human version of this girl.

Alisa's existence in itself is practically a huge slap in the face towards Nina. — On the surface you have this woman made to feel like nothing more than an emotionless weapon for a majority of her life, seemingly having no qualms with treating another girl the same way - as a super weapon ; as a tool. You would think she'd oh idk...say something to Jin about this plan of his?? Anything?? But no, in fact she seems to even smirk as they use her to distract Lars.

In her mind Alisa is an actual robot, and nothing more. Treating an actual robot this way is only fair, because thinking of her as anything more forces her to face all of the resentment she's buried over the years. It forces her to face the fact that yeah, even she at times is not above kinda childish jealousy - similar to the jealousy she judges her sister for.

In contrast to others on the roster, not once has Nina even bothered to call Alisa by name, whenever she actually addresses her it's always the same:

❄️ Fair warning for anyone who hadn't already surmised. Some of Nina's favorite tricks to pull are typically unexpected and subtle with fatal consequences. A couple lesser known involving venom laced lip gloss and nail polish come to mind 💅 ❄️ Should your muse be both close enough to her and nosey enough, they might find that contrary to popular belief, Nina does keep a few old family photos tucked away. Stolen from family albums Anna showed her after their cryosleep. – As much as she can't trust a single thing the minx tried to tell her and despite her "what's done is done" mantra, there is a small remaining speck of the assassin that at the very least wishes to clear up the blurry faces of lost loved ones and seldom long forgotten happy moments in her brain.

❄️ Nina has an annoying little habit of relaxing a little too much in baths. The familiar sensation of being surrounded by water yet the contrasting warmth of it to her once frigid prison, combined with exhaustion after a long days work... it tends to lull her to sleep often. — Which sucks. Because when she wakes up to find the temp plummeted, it's a jolt to her system and it always takes her a little while to recall where she is and calm down. ❄️ Nina absolutely wears sunglasses as a defense mechanism at times. Yes most times in her line of work it's for disguise purposes, other times their use could be found in the simple fact she has a migraine or they complete the look. But top secret: neither are solely behind her wearing them while working aside Kazuya or wearing them in the tournament she meets her son in. 🕶💜 ❄️ While definitely more left brained than right per say, Nina does have an appreciation for art. When on her travels, the only one calling her condos home are some paintings & sculptures in the abstract, macabre, contemporary & modern styles. Mostly grey scale, she's rarely one for bright colors. – And as she is both one whose attraction typically leans closer towards women, and who is very comfortable with her own sexuality and appeal, you can expect a few of them to honor the feminine form. ❄️ ^ Within her abodes you're also likely to find a few collected priceless artifacts from her travels. Vase's, weapons, etc. Rarer still, a couple mementos from her various missions over the years. Specifically a certain purple ornamental fan. Dyed in her favorite color, serving fatal use, and it's owner a corpse... Leaving it to sink to the oceans depths would be such a waste. 😔

𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐓 ( 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐋: 𝑫𝑬𝑽𝑰𝑳 𝑵𝑰𝑵𝑨 ) | ✲・*:✲・*:･･

❄️ - Goes without saying, Nina wasn't naturally born with the devil gene like Kazuya, Jin, and presumably Kazumi. Her DNA was biologically altered to converge with Ogre's, so technically she contains a mutated and imperfect form of the devil gene. (For new lovelies, this verse is based off the old fandom belief that Ogre was the og origin of the gene & the theory that Heihachi spliced Nina's blood w Ogre's during her cryosleep) Bc of this, and oversight on those responsible for Heihachi's experiments part, her body isn't naturally accustomed to it's effects, let alone built to handle them. It's likely each full on devil episode she has takes a tremendous toll on her body and overall health. To what extent however, remains unknown. Due in part to her own stubborn insistence on hiding and pushing through any pain she goes through to the best of her ability, and also in part to how Nina rarely experiences her devil transformation in it's full capacity (y'know, with the wings and the horns and all that good stuff).

❄️ - Bc I'm a sucker for symbolism, Nina's devil form design contains a few hints towards her connection with Ogre. First and most noticeably the markings on her skin - this was not intended to match Devil Jin's design, but actually Ogre's newer Tekken mobile design ( which... tbh I like better than the jolly green giant I'm sorry not sorry 🙏). Hence why she's more covered in them than Jin. — Her sclera turning black upon transforming is another similarity she shares with Ogre as well, to name a couple.

❄️- Oh you know her devil concerns were a big part of why she agreed to help Jin in T6 in this verse. Not just in regards to her devil, but lowkey also bc... if the experiments done on her in regards to the super soldier project are what resulted in her mutated devil gene... you know who else likely has it 😔 She's full on team this gene needs to be exterminated, no matter what. (Not that that can't change per plot of course)

❄️ - Devil Nina probably has an affinity with snakes, bc of the whole.. snake arm thing Ogre had going on. – Yeah she can't do that. But she probably thinks they're pretty neat.

❄️ - No Nina does not remember what happens when her devil takes over. But she is smart enough to surmise the gist of what occurred and realign the jumbled broken pieces of memory and reality. She's grown accustomed to that over the years unfortunately.

❄️ - Devil Nina on the other hand recalls all. Just as she thrives on the emotions Nina's buried over the years, she thrives off of the buried memories tied to them as well. While Nina still struggles to remember parts of her past, you might find that her devil remembers some missing subconsciously buried pieces down to the finest details. And she'd probably love to chat about them too whenever she's in a good mood. Just makes the emotions keeping her around stronger, right? 🤷‍♀️

❄️ - Finally not official per-say, but a thought I've considered: Devil Nina may have her own version of Nina's evil mist attack, only the secret to hers doesn't lie in dissolvable capsules. Since she consumes souls like Ogre, her digestive system obviously isn't... normal. It could be possible it can somehow convert remnants of the souls she consumes into a poisonous vapor? (Still iffy on the idea, but throwing it out there anyway, let me know what you think?)

❄️ - Nina isn't a fan of cuddling. ...Or so she'll claim. Like most intimate gestures, she'll find the concept unfamiliar ; absurd, and will seem resigned if you try. Yet soon enough after a night together you find she's the one cuddled up against you on the rare moments you manage to catch her before she sneaks out in the dawn. Should you be on a long jet / car ride together, it's her who's unafraid to rest her head against your shoulder. Whenever you stroke her cheek she'll subtly lean into your touch, and if you don't blink after you press your lips against her cheek or forehead, for a split second you swear you saw ivory dusted pink. ❄️ - If given the chance to learn your favorite scents, don't doubt Nina will utilize that information. From switching up her perfume to shampoo, all you know is one second the pleasant aroma is invading your senses during a sparring session / match, the next she's suddenly gained the upper hand with you pinned under her heel. ❄️ - Let it be known that next to the bed, Nina particularly enjoys the shower. It saves time, plus less of a hassle when it comes to cleanup. — Between this and her love for rainy weather, soppy kisses in the rain will catch her off guard more than she'd like. Just don't think you'll get away with it without her commenting on how cloying you are. ❄️ - Do expect quiet evenings, lounging on the couch in one of her condos. Your head in her lap as fatal fingers weave through your hair with leisurely strokes. Her ears keenly listening as you vent all of your frustrations, either followed by peaceful silence or what blunt advice she can offer. ❄️ - Her hair on the other hand? Her hair is her trademark, the culprit behind her token "blonde bomb" title. Touching those strands is a gift to be earned, and until then rarely tolerated without consequence. — Should you ever reach such a point however, you'll find she secretly relishes in every stroke through it, each intimate moment spent letting you brush it and tie it up in her token ponytail. Even more.. steamy moments involving crude pulls upon the locks. ❄️ - Should you be one of the many poor souls who finds their dreams either gifted or cursed with her presence, feel free to tell her if you dare. If she likes you, she'll find the idea amusing and may even request details. If she doesn't, it's still a power trip for her ego to enjoy.

❄️ One day you're either meeting at a café or having drinks at a bar together, and next thing you know she's leaving your little get together first. You might question if she enjoyed your time together, before you notice she left behind a keycard and a note scribbled on a napkin: "If you ever need to find me." Signed off with an added bonus of a kiss mark if you've managed to gain a certain type of affection from her most can't. – Hopefully you're smart enough to figure out where the card goes based on the name of the complex depicted.

❄️ ^ A similar story might play out if you're ever on the run and need a place to stay. She'll let you use one of her residences, so long as you agree not to be nosey, and don't mind her popping in from time to time.

❄️ It's considered one of the worst offenses in her culture for a guest to not be offered tea or for a host to offer tea only for the guest to not drink it. So her offering tea whenever you come over is just polite. Her asking if you'd like to go out for tea however is a rarity to be treasured.

❄️ After a particularly bad run in with either Anna or Steve however, you may just wind up either getting a call from her out of the blue, or rarer still, she may show up at your doorstep without warning. – No obvious mention of the cause for her seemingly somewhat more solemn mood or the reason for her visit given, outside of "I was in the area." even if asked. She just wants your company 💜

❄️ No tournament rule enforcers, she did not rig your muses match to help them gain the upper hand back when it looked like they were about to lose. She doesn't know how that stray bullet wound up in their opponent's knee. 🤷‍♀️

❄️ "Who did this to you?" trope "who did this to you?" trope "who did this to you?" trope — Who would've guessed the Ice Cold Assassin could be so protective when it counts? Did you really think she'd let anyone else try to kill you and get away with it?

❄️ You know you've earned her trust when she lends you one of her cars. — On the other hand, if you're hoping for her to lend you one of her motorcycles, keep dreaming c:

❄️ Berating comments contradicting gentle acts as you lay sick in bed, unsure of whether or not the way she tentatively dabs your head with a wet rag is just a fever dream, until one day you find yourself injured and she's yet again right by your side, patching wounds while verbally inflicting fresh ones over your own carelessness.

❄️ You'll never know how she always manages to show up at the right time, but without fail when you find yourself in a bind, she's showing up out of nowhere to save your skin.

❄️ During another outing enjoying drinks together, she excuses herself to freshen up. Only to use her natural stealth to her advantage and slip her arms around your sitting form upon her return. Draping them comfortably around her shoulders, you may barely process her sultry whisper in your ear, asking you for a favor, to help rid her of the leering eyes from the other bar patrons, before she's placing a gentle kiss on your cheek. Returning to her own seat soon after with only a lingering brush of her fingers against your arm as she passes by. No further comment given.

𝑴𝑰𝑺𝑪 𝑯𝑬𝑨𝑫𝑪𝑨𝑵𝑶𝑵𝑺 𝑩𝑬𝑽𝒀 | ✲・*:･ﾟ✲･ﾟ

❄️- Among the 3 factions of the Tekken force in Tekken 6, Nina's was probably on the smaller side compared to the other two, if only because she was the most strict of who she took in. Given her cynical views on most men, while there definitely were still a large number in her faction, hers likely lead in the percentage of women on the force. (Also unless somehow someday someone decides to write her & state otherwise, I absolutely headcanon the scrapped concept character "Zoey" was one of her soldiers - if you want her on your team you'll have to fight Nina, I don't make the rules) ❄️- Depressing af, but if you were to show Nina video of her from the first two tournaments or prior, she'd just... feel numb. She's almost completely disassociated herself from who she once was prior to her amnesia, the experiments and being brainwashed. She might not even use "I" observations. — Show her video of her from the third tournament and she wouldn't be able to sit through the whole thing. Not saying a word as she calmly just stands up and leaves the room. 😔 ❄️- Also kinda sad. But to dive deeper into my headcanon that Nina isn't typically a fan of sweets, it's not necessarily that if offered she wouldn't like them? It's more so Richard probably disapproved of them and most other joyful childish things like Santa Claus or amusement parks, etc. while she was growing up, and she still subconsciously carries that cynical negative impression with her. – I mean this is the same guy who had his child go through emotional suppression experiments along with rigorous training. While I'm sure there were few times when the two were allowed to be kids - they watched cartoons, they probably had toys - their childhood was very rigid and there was a lot they didn't get to experience. Add into account how unhealthy sweets can be, and you know they were highly restricted / frowned upon. And taking into consideration how much Nina looks up to her father... enough said. 😔 ❄️- ^ On a happier note however, bc of that, if someone she cares about were to gift her something sweet or something she might deem childish like a stuffed animal, she is definitely the type to act unimpressed, while later if you're lucky you might just find she secretly kept it anyhow. ❄️- I feel like if Nina watches crime shows or podcasts, it's on days where she hasn't executed a hit in a while, and she does nothing but pinpoint the killer right away, and critique their actions. Judging why they chose to kill, every mistake the killer made along the way? Yeah she's catching them, she's judging, she's sipping her 4th cup of tea for the day. ☕️ ❄️- Also you didn't hear it from me, but the secret to Nina's evil mist attacks? Dissolvable capsules under her tongue. 😶

|| While we're still lingering around the loyalty topic, I would just like to point out that based on her actions in DBD, T6 & T7, Nina is probably way more loyal than most would expect when it comes to people she actually cares about.

Problem being she just doesn't care about a lot of people lol

I mean for example: Jin left her in charge of the Zaibatsu, he's gone, she could've burned that place to the ground like it deserved – and yet she still stuck around and seemed to spend most of her time looking for the same guy who in one cutscene just dipped after she fell out of a helicopter 😔

|| She'll likely never admit it, but a small part of Nina is starting to see Sergei like the brother she rarely dreamed of having when she was little.

He's amusing to annoy, he doesn't whine and cry about her antics like Anna, on the contrary his personality almost mirrors her own yet still holds a similar easily exploitable temper to the dear little sister she was actually cursed with. And unraveling the secrets tied to his occupation, now that's always interesting.

She doesn't necessarily like him, but she doesn't hate him. She may hold a smidge of respect for him, but she's nowhere near afraid of him. She may even help him at times (for the right price.)

To sum up, she simply finds him... very intruiging.

He's even already earned the token sign of Williams sibling-ship that is 'friendly' fire 💜 Though she is still a little disappointed on that front. Really, with his training that small smidge of respect in her actually had her assuming he'd have faster reflexes. 🤷‍♀️

|| Imagine: Nina showing up out of nowhere in her purple Ferrari LaFerrari to get your muse out of a bind. You speed away together and not long after you ride in awkward tension. You reluctant to thank her, she silently waiting ; curious what the first words out of your mouth will be, absolutely judging how long it's taking you to talk. – Purple ambient interior lighting dancing off of azures that as far as you can tell don't even glance your way, yet somehow still notice every subtle move you make.

And all the while the Billie Eilish songs playing out her stereo are not helping the situation in the slightest. 😌💜

While her main focus in her current state is revenge, thankfully she's got some stuff to figure out before that can happen! She's got a few new abilities she's gotta learn how to control first. – She's nowhere near as powerful as Angel, if there is a Angel hierarchy she's definitely lower ranked because she new here. But similar to ghosts and Devil Jin, she does have telekinesis to an extent. She can minimally affect electronics, she can turn invisible from the living, and unbeknownst to her she does have an aura that can physically be felt by others wherever she goes. Being around her feels akin to walking into a freezer, and the living may become enraged within her presence.

Another thing she's still trying to figure out are her wings. Flying is a delight, but to say they're annoying would be an understatement. For once the sneaky graceful once assassin is having a little trouble maneuvering, but she's learning quickly. Hopefully she'll eventually realize her wings are retractable, not in the sense that they retreat into her body per say, but more so - if she ever masters how - she can make them dissolve into tiny spheres of light and disappear. And of course summon them again later on.

The catch all to her power however, since Angel is the one who gave Nina this form and powers, she can likely control them somehow. (To what extent tho, I'm leaving it up to the amazing lovely @ourladyoflight 💜)

Can she be reasoned with? A little less than she could be when alive, but yes. Can she be wounded? Yes. But overall if for some reason your muse would like to defeat her, as dangerous as it may be, find a way to let her let that bottled up rage out. Because even though it may take a lot, once that fire burns out, the others she kept restrained throughout her life, will follow suit, and soon enough she'll be able to accept all that's happened and leave this limbo. Either by moving on, or returning to life with help of another. Because to sum up:

|| The odds of Nina ever admitting this in it's entirety are incredibly slim, but Lars both intrigues her, and actually unnerves her.

With his time at the Zaibatsu and studying it's database, he is one of seldom few to know some of the most traumatic secrets she keeps submerged beneath six feet of ice. That alone is unsettling. — However it's more so the road he walks that gives her pause. From what she's noticed, as much as he may despise the thought, he does share traits with Heihachi. And in her eyes he's at a crossroads, while she's on the sidelines observing whether or not he'll wind up following the old mans footsteps, or walk the opposite road and stay committed to his idealistic intentions.

It's part of why she's so critical of him. Whether because of her own selfish intentions, or because of the minuscule, snuffed out remnant of hope she holds that maybe this world doesn't have to be all bad, a small part of her genuinely wants to see him defy the odds and her expectations by doing better.

|| Not to post some Saturday sadness but I'd like to point out how incredibly sad it is that growing up Anna wanted nothing more than to be accepted by Richard and probably take Nina's place as the favorite someway somehow. When from Nina's side of things being the favorite equals having emotional repression experiments done on you, probably being punished for empathizing with anyone / anything or getting even slightly emotional about something, no friends, not even a shred of a normal life because diverging from Richard's wishes results in being berated and outright ignored by her own father if not possibly worse.

And Anna just.. doesn't see it. All she sees is her sister being showered in attention while she stands in her shadow, and while I am almost certain Nina wished she could trade places with her as well way more than once. — We know Anna wasn't forced to undergo the same things Nina was growing up just by looking at her in the games. Anna's more extroverted, she clearly has some capability to empathize even a little, and if anything she's almost too emotional in and outside of fights.

Yet somehow, Nina still remains as her blind spot. She sadly can't seem to see her perspective of things at all.

On the opposite vein of her angel verse, Devil Nina is actually less restrained when it comes to her emotions. Since the devil thrives off of them, it incites more when trying to awaken and keeps them going while in control. While most of the time she'll still come off as cold and intimidating, this results in her being somewhat more expressive and at times even kinda playful with those Nina likes. – Which might seem refreshing or maybe even cute, until your muse realizes it's more of a predator toying with their prey kinda thing 😬

If Nina is aware of her devil side and if she ever feels her devil is slowly trying to awaken, after witnessing up close and personal how Jin's episodes with his devil went, she will likely turn herself in to any facility she feels could contain her until it washes over, even if it means being studied like a lab rat. She may kill for a living, but even she doesn't want to be responsible for that amount of needless destruction, and if it's under her terms and could potentially help people inflicted by the devil gene or put an end to it all together in the future? So be it. – Should this occur in T8, she may even turn to what little remains abandoned of the Zaibatsu's facilities in secret. She may not be able to lock herself in, but in the middle of nowhere at least there's nothing there to be destroyed that shouldn't already have been long ago.

She may have inherited the gene from his blood, but being compared to Ogre in any shape way or form will absolutely tick her off. Whether or not it's because of Nina's trauma or a possible belief on Devil Nina's behalf that she's somehow better than him remains unknown.

The most likely to incur her devil sides wrath are those who have hurt her in her life. Anna, Heihachi and Kazuya obviously at the top of the list. However she won't go out of her way to go after them unless they approach her first. Because to reemphasize a note from my last post about this verse, at the end of the day what Devil Nina wants is freedom and maybe power. – Almost everyone in Nina's life has tried to control her in one way or another. If there's anything Devil Nina represents, it's Nina's limitless desire to break free from it all and get away. And her devil, will go to great lengths to ensure no one gets in the way of it.

(I'll also be reblogging my old posts about this verse as a refresher too so keep an eye out!)

First I wanna state I am working on a new design for Devil Nina based on Nina's new T8 appearance. A majority of her features still remain the same, with the only differences planned atm being instead of floor length, since her hair is shorter now, when she turns it grows to a little past her chest (so about the length it was before she cut it), and her outfit will be a darker modified version of her T8 one, minus the jacket.

The first signs that the devil may be winning in her internal struggle are as follows: increased irritability, restlessness. A piercing migraine may soon follow, before restlessness dwindles into fatigue. The actual transformation usually occurring when she isn't awake to keep a hold on her emotions. As she sleeps frost / a supernatural cold will encompass her surroundings. Her hair will grow first, turning white within minutes. Eyes shifting next. – Whether the transformation continues after that point or not depends on if someone intervenes, or whether or not Devil Nina is in the mood to fight. If she isn't, she can maintain this in between appearance until need be.

One thing I left out of my last post about this verse bc I was still undecided on it, is Devil Nina is capable of stealing souls like Ogre. Like him it's possibly the sustenance she lives off of, but in the same vein she can go without them for a very fair amount of time without much consequence, and she's only interested in the souls of strong fighters bc they sustain her longer. – Unlike Ogre however since Nina is Queen of judge city, her judgement and impressions of others do get in the way of who Devil Nina determines is a strong fighter. Like Queen I know you're an INTJ but if you don't tone down that J you gonna starve (and note: like some of her cryogenic abilities, will I ever be using this ability to it's full extent on others muses? Fuck no. NPC's tho? Might wanna run. )

^^ Bc of this if you try to give her normal food she won't even look at it. At most she may push it away. She will however gladly drink plenty of water. Studies on her may reveal her water intake is tied to her cryogenic abilities, how frequently she can use them or how strong they may be. – It's also worth noting that whenever Nina comes to afterwards, she feels sick to her stomach and has a horrible taste in her mouth. Tbh it's probably best not to tell her whyy..

Refresher: this verse takes place in an AU where after the events of the Tekken Titan comics, the fighters who died and were transformed into angels were never brought back to life or returned to normal. As such Nina's appearance is as it is in the comics : Glowy glowy. Her irises are illuminated, her forehead now holds three gems , and her tactical suit has been modified to have sharper features and a silvery almost bluish hue. Her hair also seems to constantly sway as if there's an otherwise constant unfelt wind.

The best way I can sum up Angel Nina is that she's akin to an angry vengeful spirit still processing her death. – Her difficulties expressing emotions remain, yet when brought back as an angelized weapon at Angel's disposal, she was imbued with a near supernatural and all consuming rage. Over her death whose pain she keeps physically reliving, over the many misfortunes that riddled her life. Some of it doesn't even belong to her, with Angel's emotions over being imprisoned also in the mix.

^^ Usually unseen on the surface, Nina is thus stuck in a constant internal struggle trying to keep this newfound fury under her reserved control like she had done with her emotions for a majority of her life. And unfortunately, her unwillingness to let these emotions out healthily is only making it a losing battle. – She may even think she's doing fine keeping a handle on it because she doesn't let it show, when in reality that anger has already sept into her thinking process, her actions. It's even tainted fond memories and shined a new negative and at times kind of irrational light on them.

Her main focus now that Angel no longer needs her and she's stuck in this limbo? Revenge. Against anyone and everything who even played the smallest of roles in her fate. Foes, once allies, and family alike. And she doesn't care how long it will take, she is calculating the right time to strike against each of them as we speak.
