I'm glad we've moved past the "heavy handed allegory for racism between two different sentient species where they are all best friends in the end" episodes and into the "racism is so deeply engrained into society that in the absence of active anti-racist deconstruction people would go to any length to avoid confronting their biases and changing their worldview"

Wow, the people of Finetime are SO dumb. Like come ON, imagine being so reliant on the guidance of an external device that you start to lose your concept of mental autonomy and become completely ignorant of your own surroundings. Imagine being so enveloped in your own little personal bubble that you're blind to atrocities that are literally happening right next to you. Imagine being privileged enough to choose to ignore those atrocities because they're not affecting YOU. Imagine if that were us.

That would be such a terrible world to live in...

The people I watched it with kind of interpreted the first half of the episode as 'technology bad' but honestly? To me it felt less like "these kids wont get off their darn phones" and more along the lines of how privileged people will refuse to even take a second to pay attention to how horrible the state of the world is, will continuously ignore and deny and turn a blind eye to anything unappealing to them. I also loved how immediately... strange it was that every character was white with blue eyes and conventionally attractive. Even before the ending it was obvious that these were all privileged rich white people who don't care about anyone but themselves and throw a fit if someone doesn't hold their hand through every little thing. In conclusion the bugs were based as hell
