Hrm you know I sort of think that people kind of miss out on the beauty of Kanaya having a "type" for "dangerous women" when they fail to account for the fact that Kanaya too is a dangerous woman. Like don't get me wrong, it's a very different type of dangerous. Kanaya is attracted to women with an impulsive, self-destructive kind of danger. Women who throw themselves into situations headfirst and a lot of the time will stumble out on the other side a little worse for wear (but they're effective, still, and that makes it thrilling). But like Kanaya has such a deliberate and relentless violence to her, a dangerous woman who keeps herself dormant until the time is right, but when she lets herself out she hits hard and fast (and she's also very effective, this is also quite thrilling). Things I've been rotating a lot, I think it's fun to view Kanaya's love for dangerous women less like she's a passive woman admiring and taking care of women she cannot control, and more like her enjoying the company of forces just as threatening and dangerous as she is, but a touch more chaotic in their methods

every time I try to describe how vox feels about alastor in present-day (post-fallout) in my head it just ends up circling back to one-sided kismesissitude I'm going to cry I just can't escape it (the homestuck)

if you want a more detailed explanation. I think vox used to love alastor pre-rejection, but now he hates him but he's still attracted to him (this results in scenarios like episode 8).

here we're separating the equivalence of love to attraction. does vox still love alastor? debatable. is he still ATTRACTED to him? oh yeah. yeah. and he kinda hates that he is.

and every time I combine hate and attraction in my head it just keeps going back to kismesis. maybe hussie really was cooking when he invented romantic hate.

#homestuck #dave strider #pkmn #mashup #siivagunner #not officially but. in spirit #hs #i didnt have to change any key signatures at all btw which is surprising #i didnt need to adjust anything beyond the tempo of the notes from two different midi files #but like lining up with the measures and transitions thats all natural overlap #i mean i literally ripped the route 216 midi and soundbank straight from the game myself #and i did some minor adjustments on a davesprite midi someone made using it as a base so it sounds good in this context #like altering some chords and putting in some compound meters to fit with the percussion of route 216 #AND sound more like the original davesprite because the original midi kinda fell flat in really small places flow-wise #but i dont blame them its hard to place the notes out in a way that has good flow #i also altered some bass parts to be consistent with the davesprite melody
