"I can't know what lies ahead for you, but remember that beauty can be found on even the roughest of trails. Seek out moments of peace and wonder, and let them sink in. Hold on to them. Breathe. I will see you on the other side."
I yapped enough about Phyrexia that my DM decided to make them a faction in her new campaign setting, albiet with some substantial alterations (ie. they're trying to play nice for a bit to further their goals, and have a lot more internal cohesion between praetors).
But when have the Phyrexians been against substantial alterations?
Maursa frequently sleep curled up, with their tails wrapped around themselves. The Lucid, with no actual physical bodies, usually just float while taking a nap, but sometimes they'll hover real close to their Maursa companions for comfort.
(These somehow got posted out of order. Tumblr's schedule function seems to be broken right now... Oops)
I've created my own art challenge this year! I have a WIP story I've been working on for over a year now, and I thought an October art challenge would be a good excuse to finally get some of these ideas out of my head. So far, the story is living under the working title "Ixiltix," so I'm calling the art challenge Ixiltober! The plan is to just draw anything related to the story. A rough composition, a pose study, prop or environment design sketches, whatever I feel like. So here's the first four days of art!
Ixiltix takes place in the same sci-fi universe as AstralSounds, but focuses on a different set of characters and alien races. A lot of the attention will go to the Maursa, a possum-like race, and their energy-based companions, the Lucid.
A major focus of this story is the relationship between these two - Erennias and Ixiltix (hence the working title). Nailing down the dynamic of their friendship is one of the things I definitely want to work on through this art challenge.
