So another post….
This is for the Steddyhands Shippers….
I was listening to Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield this morning and got such Steddyhands vibes from it lol.
And Stede and Ed could be either the girlfriend or Jessie depending on your take lol

it wasn't that he wanted to be with jessie’s "girl", he just wanted to be with jessie and felt unaccepted so channeled his gay love into a heterosexual song. true story because i said so.

okay. i know no one cares rn or is even on the subject but can i just say; stacys mom is jessie’s girl is sweet caroline. just think about it:
starting off with the oldest of them and also the beginning of it, Sweet Caroline. the Caroline that Neil Diamond sings about in 1969 could be a baby, probably his niece or cousin. the lyrics of Diamond’s song are much less *ahem* sexual than the other two, so it’s possible that it’s about a baby reaching out to him. cuz like, be honest, babies reaching out is super cute. his phrasing could imply that he is babysitting this kid and the night “don’t seem so lonely.”
next: Jessie’s Girl. in 1981, Rick Springfield wishes he was with his best friend’s girl who is (probably) named Caroline. so lke, assuming that Neil Diamond was babysitting her between ages 2-5, Caroline would now be like 14-17, which is the perfect age for the girl mentioned in Jessie’s Girl.
FINALLY, in 2003, Fountains of Wayne released Stacy’s Mom (likely about the same girl). Caroline would now be a woman in her late 30’s, so it’s plausible for her to have had a child…and she easily could have named said child Stacy, therefore making her Stacys mom!
i rest my case.
