The Hug scene never fails to bring me joy and tears because you can see how both of them really needed it. Enid had been dying to hug Wednesday since they first met as well as when Wednesday was expelled, but was denied all of them. And when she finally gets to hug her, she keeps trying to pull her closer and lets out a little sob because it’s everything she’s ever wanted. She wolfed out FOR Wednesday. She almost died FOR Wednesday. She got disfigured FOR Wednesday and in the end she doesn’t regret any of it because Wednesday is alive and in her arms and it’s the only thing she’s ever wanted.
And then Wednesday finally letting her guard down and not only hugging Enid back but closing her eyes in her neck. After losing Weems, getting concussed, locked and shackled, bled, stabbed, dying (almost), almost getting clawed to death by Tyler, taking an arrow to the shoulder, and almost dying AGAIN, she FINALLY can let her guard down. She can finally rest. She can finally allow herself to be comforted because she’s safe and ALIVE because of the bloodied werewolf in front of her.
The Wenclair brainrot has me by the THROAT right now.
God they make me sick it’s just the AMOUNT OF DEVOTION Enid has to Wednesday is Crazy. Wolfed out for her. RISKED HER LIFE. She was ready to lay her life down and I bet you the only thing she was thinking was “at least Wednesday is safe” like are you kidding. Enid knew her for like a few months and literally was ready to put her life down for Wednesday. Like this isn’t talked about enough. And the hug?? Help. The way she keeps pulling Wednesday, her fingers GRIPPING her back, arm all the way around the waist, holding her like it’s the last thing she’ll get to do. It’s.. I can’t even.
And Wednesday. Betrayed, nearly killed, used by multiple people she trusted. She needed that hug so bad. She tucks her chin into Enid’s shoulder and they SWAYED. Wednesday was holding her so tight, and she CLOSED HER EYES. She closed her eyes because she knows Enid will keep her safe, she knows Enid is the reason she’s alive. She knows Enid laid down her life and most of all, she knows Enid NEEDS that hug.
