the solution for taking care of "unsightly" homeless people is to house us. that is the only solution. if you can't stand the look of someone living on the sidewalk, you shouldn't stand for them being put into that situation to begin with. housing us is the only answer.

KEEP PESTS OUT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Two alternate designs of the same concept. It’s up to us to keep our neighbourhoods and communities safe. Do not let the fash slip in, do not let bigotry find a home on your street. We are stronger together, our diverse community is our strength. Befriend your neighbours, stand up for what’s right, unite. Bigots are pests, and fascism is a deadly disease, do not let friends and family be infected or harmed.

Ages ago I threatened said I should do a full reading of Peter Kropotkin's "Mutual Aid" piece by piece on Tumblr as part of my voice feminizing practice and then never go around to it.
Then @beatrice-of-the-stars convinced me I should absolutely do it and also that I should get back to doing voice training cause I've been slacking for like, a full year.
SO ANYWAY HERE IT IS!
ALSO THIS IS A COLD READING SO I'M GONNA BE MAKING MISTAKES AND STUMBLING OVER A FEW LINES AND WE'RE ALL JUST GONNA HAVE TO GO ON THAT ADVENTURE TOGETHER!
PART TWO

Anarchism seeks to arouse the consciousness of oppression, the desire for a better society, and a sense of the necessity for unceasing warfare against capitalism and the State.

The "no kink at pride" thing is just another "leopards ate my face".
If you go to a diner, you'll see people eating. Maybe having a beverage. Some of those people will be waiting tables, cooking, or bartending. You'll see families, dates, groups of teens, some folks alone. Some for breakfast, some maybe just for coffee.
If you go to a beach, you'll see people swimming. Or maybe building a sandcastle. Maybe some volleyball. Also families, dates, groups of teens, some folks alone enjoying the day.
If you go to pride, you'll see queer and trans folk, existing out and proud as queer and trans folk. In hundreds of different ways. You'll see families, dates, groups of teens, some folks alone.
Some marching, some in drag, some just out to party, some out to spread their message. You'll see queer bodies of all kinds, clothed in all different ways, just like at any other place. But this time, in the context of the one true event a year where folks band together enough to have the confidence to exist as their true selves even if only for a few hours.
So yeah, if you go to pride, you will see queer and trans people. If you can't handle that, then don't go to pride. And maybe, JUST maybe, you should also look into WHY you can't handle seeing queer and trans folk, existing happily in public :)
