So is Shigaraki fusing with Tenko or ceasing to exist? Because, hear me out:
This is how we've always seen the ShigiAFO vestige:
It's just AFO and adult Shigaraki here. And in a different part of the same vestige realm we see Tenko, who is surrounded by hands.
Notice that he has his dark, pre-decay hair here. Up until recently this is how these three vestiges have always been portrayed. Because a couple things have changed during the UA battle.
The first and most obvious being that Tenko now has Shigaraki's grey hair. His eyes are sunken too, just like after he killed his family. When this chapter first releases I thought Tenko was just aging, in a way. But something happened this chapter that changed my opinion.
We got new panels of ShigiAFO. But something's different from previous panels of him. Can you see it?
Most obviously, his eyes are sunken like Tenko's. But if you look closely, his face is also smaller. And his proportions are more child sized. But this is definitely Shigaraki and not Tenko because he's fused with AFO and not surrounded by other hands. So what gives?
Theory time: although we never saw it, we know there must've been a point at which the Shigaraki vestige was formed. Most likely either when his quirk manifested or after AFO's grooming started to set in. Because up until that point Tenko was just... Tenko.
Where Shigaraki came from is unclear. Did Tenko develop split personality disorder or something of the like because of his trauma? Or, if AFO is responsible for giving Tenko decay in the first place, is Shigaraki the fusion of Tenko and decay's original holder? Either way, he's not his body's original vestige. Just spawn of Tenko in some way.
Is what we're witnessing the reversal of that process? Are Tenko and Shigaraki overcoming their differences and becoming one in order to shake off AFO? Or is Shigaraki so traumatized by what AFO has done to him recently that he's regressing?
We saw something similar happen to Deku in his vestige realm when he expressed one of his most base desires: to save the crying Tenko. He reverted back to a much younger version of himself -- opposite Tenko, of course, who was also a child in that panel.
Like with Deku, could appearing more like Tenko mean that Shigaraki's soul is expressing it's truest form? Is he finally differentiating himself from AFO enough to successfully stand against him?
Is this how Deku wins the war and saves the crying child?

Well, we're done rereading Act One.
Chapter 99 is labeled as the last chapter of "The Beginning of the End, End of the Beginning" and so it was most likely intended to be considered the chapter that ends BNHA's first act.
The second act of the manga is chapters 100-305. It took about 520 posts and a little under 11 months to get through the first 100 chapters. I don't anticipate it taking that much to get through the next 100 chapters. The first half of the second act are some of my least favorite parts of the manga, and I've never really been able to sit through all of season 4 and 5 due to it's chronic pacing problems.
Though, maybe I'll like the Overhaul Arc more in retrospect since it's one of the last arcs where there was a decent amount of introspection from Izuku

What are your thoughts on Gran Torino calling Tomura a “thing” and saying that his death will be his salvation, so Deku shouldn’t try that hard to save him? I’m worried that the story is going to end up agreeing with him in the end.
I've talked a lot about that line. Of course I can't find the most recent post I did where I talked about that line, love tumblr.
My bottom line is: It won't happen.
There are only a handful of characters who I have doubt for in my mind in terms of their arcs being satisfying to the max potential, and Tomura, Touya, and Toga are not on that list.
Gran Torino said that in chapter 309/310 (can't remember exactly which one and I don't feel like checking), and he has not been remembered/acknowledged by the protag or the narrative as a whole since.
I might be wrong and he may have shown up once?? But I'd even go so far as to say I think he's literally had 0 panel time since then, and we're on chapter 385.
Meanwhile in comparison you have Izuku remembering Tomura's pain in that one moment where he realized it was there, and remembering what he said he would do in chapter 305 MULTIPLE times, over the course of 80 chapters later. Now, which one has more narrative importance?
The thing is, the question of "can he be saved" is already there. Tomura's done a lot of damage, left a lot of death, misery, and mourning in his wake. The only positive force he's had in the manga is bringing the League together so none of them died alone, and which has resulted in half of them meeting their about-to-be-heroes. It's really not HARD to wonder "CAN HE BE SAVED??" The question is already there. Which, to me, explained why Gran Torino has been so ignored since he said that.
I know a lot of people try to play the argument of "oh the author did this good writing thing on accident", and no. He didn't. Everything in BNHA is intentional, that is a lesson I've learned. A frustrating, painful, but much appreciated lesson lol. Gran Torino saying it in the first place was intentional. Yes you are supposed to wonder if Izuku might think he has to let Tomura disappear or die. There's gotta be some level of doubt, even if it's not very convincing (and to me it's not lol). And then, Gran Torino being ignored for 80 chapters after is also intentional.
Izuku thinking about Tomura multiple times, asking if he's still there in his own body, knocking him out of his "tomb"--which Izuku referred to it as and emphasized the fact that it was a tomb--and falling to the ground with him to face him in the security of not having everyone else who wants to kill him around, is intentional.
The art is intentional. Look at the most recent panels with the two of them, and look at Izuku's general attitude toward Tomura in comparison to what it was during the PLF war arc. It's a complete 180, it's entirely different and way more full of determination than it is rage and anger. That wasn't on accident.
Anything that involves Tomura dying results in the main protagonist's arc ending in complete failure. The story has not once validated the "kill to save" take, nor has it once validated Gran Torino on anything, ever.
I use this same argument when I talk about Touya. Ochacko saving Toga--which lots of people seem to be more accepting of now, finally--will not happen without Shouto saving Touya and Izuku saving Tomura. None of those three will succeed while one of them fails on the side and mourns their failure to save someone who was crying---which those three villains are all crying. It just won't happen.
Obviously I'm not Horikoshi. But this is seriously one of the things where I am 0% concerned about where the story is headed. Tomura is the best written character in the manga, he's been rewritten time and time again, redrafted time and time again. My confidence that his arc won't be trashed at the end is really high. I am not worried.

Just imagine something cute is on the card.
Dumb lil idea around this is Hero Touya Todoroki went on a mission and his hubby couldn't contact him cause of that. Keigo ended up finding out he's pregnant a week after Touya went on this mission so here he is 6 months later giving him a surprise... or two. (Yes they're twins)

You know, I want to see Izuku and Katsuki as hero partners being absolutely silly, they do funny comments and random poses and combo moves that have the stupidest names
I want to see them catching each other when they are send flying by a villain in increasingly over the top maneuvers and then trying to keep a straight face after that
I want them sitting on top of buildings and eating their homemade food (by Katsuki, even if Izuku can cook, he just doesn't let that happen) and talking about different stuff and laughing all the time at every single thing they think sounds funny and people take pictures of them nearly falling of the roof because they were laughing too hard
They dancing out of nowhere to some song they like and singing along so loudly the lyrics are mostly screamed
Their hands always being in some place of the other's body, shoulder, waist, hair, tugging ears, pinching cheeks or simply kissing each other all over their face and being unable to pay attention to the poor reporter that is only doing their job
Katsuki massaging Izuku's hands after a big fight because he knows they hurt, Izuku giving him water sometimes because the explosions hurt his hands, they taking care of each other after battle while they wait for the paramedics
Just, they being together and happy and healthy

I want to see Deku and Uraraka teasing each other because they are both gay and dumb
Like, Deku does something to embarrass himself in front of Katsuki and later Uraraka mocks him and Deku pretends to be angry and then they both laugh
Or Uraraka trying to flirt with a girl and failing miserably and Deku pretends he is her in a tragic romance and she tells him to stop but smiling and obviously amused by this
I want them to be disasters together and then laughing about it and just being there for each other

Finished watching Redline (2009) today after seeing glimpses of it on the internet over the past years and the animation really is something to behold at least once in your life. I really like how it pushes you think 'this is crazy' while the next scene comes in all 'hah think again >:D' which exceedingly crushes your previous expectations of how things are going to go. 10/10, the top number 1 racing anime in my opinion.

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: I think In the Belly of the Beast is my favorite arc (Ed and Ling are trapped in Gluttony’s stomach), my favorite scene is Envy’s death bc of how the characters are involved in it
Character I Think is Underrated: Envy heehee (he’s my favorite so biased, but I also think ppl don’t appreciate how he gave us one of the greatest scenes in existence with Roy deciding not to kill him despite wanting to more than anything)
Character I Think is Overrated: Uhhhh none? I think all the characters in Fullmetal Alchemist deserve every hype they get
Favorite Ship/Pairing: Roy/Riza
Something I Love About the Show/Movie: Happy ending, EVERY character gets what they want, ends up with the people they love (both romantic and otherwise), Arakawa wasn’t afraid to be unapologetically forgiving

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Current arc, favorite scene is…probably going to be whatever is in 418 or 419, but existing I’d say chapter 305 still
Character I Think is Underrated: None
Character I Think is Overrated: Idk I don’t get the hype behind literally any of the side characters like like the Big 3; I also think outside of aesthetics, Mirko is overrated, I think because Touya is often seen as something he isn’t (someone fighting for everyone to live how they want—he’s not) I think he’s gotten to be a little overrated. He’s still one of my top favorites but I tend to disagree with how a lot of people view him
Favorite Ship/Pairing: IzuOcha is good, BakuCami makes me laugh, TogaChacko is also good
Something I Love About the Show/Movie: The feel good narrative behind it all, I love how much the author cares about his characters, I love how forgiving the story is
