Desmond, bartender in 2000s-2010s New York would absolutely binge shitty reality tv and adore eavesdropping on patrons when he can't get his drama fix. He's the RPG tavern owner who you ask if he has heard any rumors and his eyes light up because now he can info dump all the shit he hears. This follows him to the past, where now he has to actively seek out this entertainment.
He abuses his enhanced senses to sit on roofs and listen in with a hand to his mouth like, "oh my god. They were roommates." He is both the best informant and the worst because, while he is a master at getting information, the details he focuses on are useless to the Order.
"Yeah so this guy will be here at this time at this place, whatever. But! More importantly this guy has been having an affair with his wife's sister AND her brother and-"
"Please, Desmond, I am begging you just tell me the information for the mission."
--------
In Altair's time, Malik was originally Desmond's go to but after being chased out one to many times for "loitering and disturbing the peace of the bureau" (i.e. Malik's peace) Desmond switches to the Rafiq in Damascus since he "at least appreciates me." Eventually Malik would begrudgingly miss his presents and send a request for him to come back because Desmond is the only one he can rant at about Altair.
Altair does not know what the hell Desmond is talking about half the time, but now he does know the baker has three sons that his wife never knew of and one of the sons has shown up at the baker's home.
He normally will just let Desmond keep talking cause he likes his voice.
---------
In Ezio's time he is best friends with Claudia and her girls love him. He'll drop in and gossip with them about their patrons or even warn them about some of them. "Be careful I heard that he has some craziness going on between the legs." or the girls will ask questions about Ezio.
"I heard he is a beast in bed, is that true?"
"Well you didn't hear it from me, buuuut~"
He is 100% going off of hazy animus memories, but all the courtesans totally think he has either A.) slept with Ezio or B.) is actively sleeping with Ezio
With Claudia he talks about the goings on in Tiber Island and what Ezio is up to. Ezio doesn't know how the hell his sister knows everything he is doing or why he gets a message from her forbidding him from doing something he hasn't even gotten to do yet and Desmond just stands off to the side sweating.
---------
Connor is gonna go gray early with how often Desmond just disappears from the Homestead because he seems hellbent on not staying still as it gets "to boring there". Desmond will normally pop up in the strangest of places. Either Connor will find him, head tilted like a dog as he listens in on a group or Desmond will just hunt Connor down himself. "Heard you were in the area."
At time he loves it because Desmond always has a ready flow of information and he is very good at sowing discontent with it, making for good distractions. On the other hand he can do without the open commentary or rampant attention he gives any interaction Connor has with his father.
"It's so much more interesting when it's not me"
*Connor and Haytham both glare at him*

Some final AC: Brotherhood thots now that I’ve finished the game
So the lack of time cards drove me insane. That’s a major part of what I liked about ac2, was the time cards, and being able to see the year dates on the dna strands. Ac2 really actually had a sense of time passing in the story though, even if the character models didn’t change much, whereas like... everything feels like it happens within the span of a few months in Brotherhood. Maybe a year. But no, the game takes place over the course of three, with a four year time skip in the last chapter.
I don’t mind if time isn’t that important to the flow of a story, because ac1′s Altair story was like that, but with the advent of ac2 having yearly time cards, this felt especially bad. I barely felt like I knew what was going on in the terms of timeline, and it annoyed me to no end.
I felt like barely any in depth character interactions? A lot of the characters that were introduced didn’t really feel like they were ... characters, just introductions to them. Claudia especially, I feel like, for how important she was supposed to be. Related, it kinda ... felt like extended dlc to me, in terms of story depth? Like, I was expecting a lot more than what I got, even though I ended up covering almost every story beat in my posts. Which ... kinda sucks? From general consensus, so many people said that Brotherhood was the best and like-- if this is the best, I’m a little concerned. Then again, I feel like I’m more concerned with story over gameplay in general.
Lucrezia is honest to god my third favorite character in the two Ezio games I’ve played. (The others being Ezio and Teodora)
I’m also sad that the Venice crew – Teodora, Antonio, Rosa, etc– never show up in Brotherhood. Presumably they’re too busy with running things behind the scenes, but… Still sucks. (I know that Rosa’s voice actress was killed in a car crash, which shelved any plans for that character. In one of the novelizations, she takes over Rosa in Fiore from Claudia and becomes a leader of Assassins.) Having them be mentioned would have at least been nice. Just... they’re all part of the Assassin Brotherhood too, you know? Even a few mentions of letters would’ve been cool, or sending your baby ducks out to missions in Venice for them.
Gameplay wise, Brotherhood was everything I wanted out of ac2. Like, it’s smooth as sin, it’s fantastic, and the kill streak mechanic? [chef kiss] I love the recruits and the assassin ducklings, so much, and I really appreciate the fact that they can follow you inside almost anywhere, and I love being able to upgrade them. I didn’t bother much with new weapons, mostly because the short knife has my heart, and it’s counter kills. I will say, having a longsword is hella nice.
there is a critical Lack of leonardo and i am mad about it OKAY DLC FIXED THAT, I’M GOOD NVM
Ezio is such a Protagonist, like wtf. It’s so freaking pronounced in Brotherhood, even more than in ac2 where he’s like, The Prophet and A Prodigy. No, in this one he straight up just. “Fuck it I got plot armor let’s go take on a castello singlehandedly. Roma is shit? Give me a few years and I’ll fix that. Cat stuck in a tree? Got it.” I love it. It’s fantastic.
The concept of unlocking repressed memories is like, cool in practice, but not what they used them for. Or at least, not for memories of Christina, who exists to be a killed off love interest. I like the concept of having repressed memories that you have to unlock by being truly in sync with the ancestor you’re playing -- you can’t see it until you’re really living under their skin, but like. I’ve already gone on several rants why the Christina memories make me uncomfortable, so I won’t rehash them here.
The ost is Fucking Choice and I love it. It’s this like, fucking fantastic mix of modern synthesizers, orchestral, and vocals that really feels unique? It’s grounding in a way that really cements the identity of what kind of story you’re going through -- a historical fiction, viewed by an in universe modern lens, and the mix of “classical” and “futuristic” music really helped make it stand out. (I’m also talking about ac2′s ost as well, since I didn’t really talk much about it in my ac2 posts) An OST can make or break a game, and this ost really made it.
I feel like Desmond and the modern day shit was the highlight for me? mostly because there wasn’t really room to fuck up the narrative, it was supposed to be short, so therefore there was more detail jam packed into each character interaction. Character wise, the modern day crew felt more fleshed out than most of the Brotherhood cast to me, save for a couple. Which, considering how long you spend with the brotherhood cast, that feels like a travesty. I suppose it’s a Conservation of Detail kind of thing, where the less time you’re supposed to spend with something, the more choice details you have to pack into a smaller period of time.
Or maybe I just. Like Desmond and the modern shit more than Ezio’s stuff. That’s probably true actually.
God the ENDING. the Ending fucking killed it  and Lucy with how good it was played out. I’m still Iffy As Fuck for the story decisions that were made there, but how it played out? How shit gets so intense and you’re literally forced to control Desmond like the Apple is controlling him? Fuck man that got to me. That’s some A+ gameplay integration.
And Now Desmond Is In A Coma, Wonder How That’s Gonna Turn Out
Onto Revelations!
