Mozzy Shares Tracklist for Children Of The Slums, Out This Friday, April 19th
Tumblr media
Mozzy earned his reputation as one of the most authentic rappers in the game today by staying dedicated to his home neighborhood of Oak Park in Sacramento. Today, the veteran artist announces the tracklist of Children Of The Slums, his next album, which is dedicated to his home neighborhood's lost souls, and those who have lost loved ones to the streets via drugs or violence. The new album features a standout guest spot from Fridayy, who lends his otherworldly vocals to highlight track "LOST IT ALL," as well as spots from Mozzy's longtime collaborators Celly Ru and E Mozzy. Home to lead single "JADED" ft. Eric Bellinger, plus other previously-released fan favorites like "IF I DIE RIGHT NOW" (4 million views on YouTube), a heartfelt tribute to Mozzy's latest grandmother, "MISS BIG BRUH," and "FREE JUJU,"  Children Of The Slums drops on all platforms on Friday April 19th via CMG/Interscope.

Pre-save Children Of The Slums HERE
Children of the Slums arrives after a busy 2023 for the respected rapper. In the Fall, Mozzy released a series of high quality visuals for songs like the heartfelt "If I Die Right Now" and the retributive "Free Juju." Before Mozzy finished up a one-year bid in May, he released KOLLECT KALL, a 6-track EP featuring appearances from YFN Lucci, Baby Money, and his Sacramento associates E Mozzy and Celly Ru, and home to the acclaimed single "FREE ALL THE LIFERS." KOLLECT KALL earned coverage in Pitchfork, Rap Radar, HotNewHipHop,& Okayplayer, and more. The neighborhood hero linked up with a like-minded veteran when he appeared on Killer Mike's GRAMMY Award-winning album MICHAEL, and he kept the streets hot with singles like the flex-heavy "10 Percent" (8.8 million views).
Mozzy's next album continues his run as one of the most acclaimed and popular street rappers of his generation. He has earned two GOLD certifications from the RIAA as a lead artist–"Excuse Me" and "Sleep Walkin–and three more on his collaborations with Skylar Grey, Likybo, and $tupid Young. Mozzy earned mainstream recognition in 2018, when his song "Sleep Walkin" was featured in a pivotal scene in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther, and he earned a shout out from Kendrick Lamar in his Grammy Award acceptance speech. More recently, his street classic "Bladadah" placed #68 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best West Coast Rap Songs of All Time.
Tumblr media
Stay tuned for Children Of The Slums, one of Mozzy's most personal projects to date, coming this Friday.

Berlin
Tumblr media
Sama u ogromnom gradu. U gradu svih rasa, jezika, kuhinja, a ja sam uvijek imala žudnju iskusiti i okusiti nepoznato.
Grad sa toliko slojeva, svaki put kada mu se vratim otkrijem još jedan, jer Berlin je kao misteriozni ljubavnik, u kog se zaljubljuješ svakog dana nanovo. I kog nikad ne poznaješ do kraja.
/
To je on!!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I’m alone in this immense city. In the city of all races, languages, cuisines, and I always had a desire to experience and taste the unknown.
Every time I return to it I discover one more layer. Because Berlin is my mysterious lover, in whom I fall in love each day again and again. But I never know him completely, and have a feeling I never will.
/
I’m leaving my rented bike, two guys are smoking in front of the hostel, they ask about the bike after a few words ‘Are you Italian?’ I’m used to it by now. And then beer, and beer, and beer, and stories about flags, and politics and why is fucking Southern Europe always fucked up, and why can’t we just live and be happy? And all this melancholy that I heard a hundred times, that I don’t believe in anymore. Because now I know that I can do everything I want. So I will lose you in the market of used things, you look for the meaning of life, while I find another beer. Alone.
Tumblr media
I’m spilling my soul into lines in some bar in Friedrichshain because those walls understand it. It’s still not twilight, but a drunk girl is pissing between the cars in front of the window where I’m sitting and looking in my eyes. The waiter is laughing to my shocked face, I guess nothing shocks anyone here anymore, they are free.
/
I that bar Berlin, hosted me with its diversity, with people of different passports, colors, but all the same kindness. I’m traveling through the laughter and stories and beer, I’m discovering this city again. Listening to stories, foreign, but fascinating to me, about Google offices in America, huge lifelong salaries for nothing, balls of cocaine in Thailand, open relationships, forgotten roots, about liberty and all connected by the energy of this city where we are and everything is this moment.
/
I’m leaving a flat in Western Berlin. Where yesterday used to be a street, surrounded by pastel facades, today is a market of food, flowers, good music and full of smiling people. And I realize again, everything is possible, and everything can change.
/
Dinner in an atrium in between buildings, with people I don’t know. An unknown girl is moving out of Berlin and her neighborhood made a barbecue in her honor. There is music, food, and beer of cannabis. And they are all interesting, different and I’m trying to take in this moment. Summer breeze, colorful lights in the garden, metal fire escape staircases, wooden benches, plants, smiles, kindness, love.
/
I came a third time to the same restaurant with too expensive Spanish beer, to forget my troubles and flirt with the waiter from Venezuela with a beautiful smile. He says I’m beautiful, he’s asking me out, shame you didn’t ask yesterday… today I’m leaving.
/
Pigeons are flying around dirty Alexanderplatz, groups of youngsters are dancing for money, people are buying unnecessary things to fill up the emptiness inside of them, it’s sunrise, melancholia inside of me. I know he’s an asshole, but my romantic soul loves those gestures, and I can’t stop thinking.
Tumblr media
Big streets full of people, then empty suburbs, then forest and wild deer’s, purple flowers and all it’s still Berlin… They are helping me, because my bike, rented out at Checkpoint Charlie, wasn’t made for driving through the mud and forest. She is giving me her bike. My eyes are full of colors of the forest that enters autumn, and then suddenly, a lake. And the beach full of naked Germans. We are eating a picnic on the linens Filip brought from India. It’s hot, I didn’t bring my bathing suit… I decide to take off my clothes and swim. Still, I don’t feel free enough to do it in front of everyone, but hidden by the forest and completely naked I’m swimming in the lake. Two hours bike ride from the center of Europe, I feel new liberty and think, ‘Now I understand something I didn’t before’.
/
At the train station, I’m looking for a ticket for the new chapter of my life. A young man approaches me, he’s speaking in the language I don’t know, but acting as I should understand him. When he realizes I’m not from the Middle East, he says he needs money, to visit his sister. he will return it, he says. he will take my number and come to Dessau and return my money. I know he’s lying, but he’s speaking Farsi, and Farsi is the language of my friend. I’m imagining him in this situation, and I’m giving him money. I hope he really bought the ticket to see someone, I hope he bought food. I hope I didn’t help him buy drugs.
Tumblr media
After a year, I’m again here, I’m finishing my studies, I’m closing a big chapter of my life. I’m in the metro, don’t know why, but these trains always wake up my imagination and soul… especially in Berlin. I’m thinking about it. I lift my head… and I see a familiar face… is it real? that’s him! That’s him!! After a year I see him by accident in a big city, in metro U2, on the way to the academy, the road to the end of my chapter. I’m too nervous, I don’t know if he saw me, did he recognize me… We exit at the next station, I didn’t tell him anything…

Yo Gotti clears the air about rumors that Blac Youngsta was dropped from CMG label
Yo Gotti says Blac Youngsta is a “BOSS” and “Can’t Be Dropped” On Monday (Dec 27), rumors broke that Blac Youngsta had been kicked out of Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group (CMG) label. Many fans were quick to presume that these were consequences of Youngsta’s recent moves that have been seen as disrespectful towards the late Young Dolph. Recession Proof | Yo Gotti
LISTEN BELOW
After becoming sort of a late fan of Gotti over the last few years or so, I had been a little disappointed with the last few song releases and even his last album release, Untrapped. That disappointment had me unsure of what to expect when clicking play on this track, but as soon as I heard the beginning of the production, I felt like, “okay, that Gotti that I like might be back.” Although this isn’t really a radio-type song, I think I might’ve been right. Gotti takes on many of the industry’s pandemic issues and concerns while making it clear that those are not issues he’s having. This song feels different than those last few singles he released and puts me back in the spot of how I felt when I started to give Gotti the credit that he deserved. Wiki is showing info about the latest installment of his Cocaine Muzik Group project series being released this year, but nothing beyond just saying it drops in 2020. I hope we do in fact get a CMG 10 this year as I think Gotti would also probably agree that the last release was not really up to par.

YTB Fatt Connects With OT7 Quanny For Cross-Regional Banger "I Did It"
Tumblr media
YTB Fatt commands a rabid fanbase in the Southern streets, winning fans with his rapidfire flows and ferocious flexes. For his latest single, the West Memphis, AR rapper recruits a kindred spirit from the East Coast, sharing "I Did It," a new collaboration with the red hot rising rapper out of Philadelphia. Though Fatt and Quanny come from vastly different regional traditions, each rapper has accomplished a huge amount in a short period of time...and neither is surprised by their string of successes. The two rappers demonstrate their differing, yet complementary styles over blown-out 808s and a creeping piano bassline, each one listing their hard-earned accomplishments: Fatt boasts about his loyal block soldiers and the 8 cars to his name, while Quanny speaks on owning the "biggest house on the block" like Friday's Uncle Elroy.
youtube
In the video, the two rappers flex on stage and in the studio, piling up more cash than they can hold, as they have one of their patented "100 grand nights." "I Did It" continues YTB Fatt's string of fiery singles, including the Usher-sampling "Same," featuring a YouTube Top 25-trending video with cameo appearances from GloRilla and Big Homiie G, and "Brazi Blue Cheese," an ode to the founder of GUMBO.
With Moneybagg Yo's Loaf Boyz him and over 140 million streams in the bank, YTB Fatt had a breakout year in 2023, highlighted by his recent mixtape Who Is Fatt. His first full-length project, Who Is Fatt charted on Billboard and Apple Music, reaching #4 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums and charting as high as #12 on Apple Music's All-Genre Album Chart and at #6 on Apple Music's Hip-Hop Albums Chart. The project is home to his breakout hit "Get Back" (19 million YouTube views), and the Pitchfork-praised "Poppin It Hard," plus guest appearances from Rob49, Big Homiie G and FTO Sett. Fatt followed up Who Is Fatt with the no-holds-barred 10-pack Foxes Only, featuring guest appearances from Lil Yachty, GloRilla, and BabyDrill. Both Who Is Fatt and Foxes Only are available on all platforms via Loaf Boy Ventures / 10K Projects.
YTB Fatt has been rising steadily in the Dirty South since the beginning of last year. Born and raised in West Memphis, Arkansas, just across the Mississippi from the Tennessee rap hotbed, YTB Fatt caught the attention of an impressed Moneybagg Yo with songs like "Played Out" and "Don't Crash." Moneybagg Yo quickly signed Fatt to his Bread Gang label, collaborating with Fatt on the hit "Shot Off Gumbo" (13 million YouTube views) and connecting Fatt with Lil Durk on "Rock Out"–both of Yo and Fatt's collaborations appeared on the Memphis rapper's Hard To Love album. Since then, Fatt has continued to drop more street hits, and has become an in-demand featured artist, working with artists like Trippie Redd, Rob 49, Icewear Vezzo, and many, many others.
With two successful mixtapes under his belt, Fatt is tirelessly working to reach the top of the rap game. Stay tuned for much more.

Yo Gotti: White Friday (CM9)
Yo Gotti has long been Memphis’ biggest rap star, but he’s also spent his 30s on the cusp of something more, idling through several underperforming major-label releases while nurturing the mixtape cred that built his name. And then suddenly, in early 2016, Gotti scored big with “Down in the DM,” a late-career social media smash that had propped up his fifth album in 2015 and wedged his name into new conversations, like the one that must have precipitated his appearance on a Meghan Trainor breakup single called “Better” last year. It wasn’t until 2016 that Gotti was the type to get a crossover call like that. So, how does a late bloomer mixtape rapper seize his moment to sidle into the spotlight? Smartly, he’s back on the circuit. Kind of.
Gotti’s latest seems to be billed as an album first, White Friday, and mixtape second, CM9, but he’s clearly folding his long-running Cocaine Muzik mixtape series into a newfound industry prominence, serving up his usual street fare with a bit more polish. To be sure, Gotti has a better track record as a mixtape slinger than he does as a major-label rap album artist, and CM9 benefits from a low-stakes formula that’s less concerned with stringing together a narrative than it is with song-by-song quality control. The Art of Hustle, Gotti’s last album, saw him overextended, trying to frame himself in with a single statement-worthy piece of work; CM9 instead is a snapshot of Gotti in stride.
This new project’s bookends are the most explicitly self-referential of the rapper’s big 2016, and he grapples aloud with his come up. He isn’t known for clever lyricism, but Gotti can make a straightforward phrase sound agile. “Biggest year of my career and I could feel the pressure, gotta follow-up,” he snips on “81,” a slapper of an intro and fine microcosm of Gotti’s honed simplicity. Tracks like “Off da Top (3am)” don’t fare as well, and scan instead like generically manufactured trap.
On “Blah Blah Blah” Gotti casts himself as a petty asshole over an eerie banger, taunting an ex while turning his attention elsewhere. He sounds utterly unlikeable through it all. But the tease—“All I heard is ‘blah blah blah blah blah’”—spills throughout the song with enough charisma to worm into your ear like a bully’s “neener neener.” On the last track, Gotti endears instead, dropping his guard to memorialize his former manager, Mel Carter, who passed away less than a month before this mixtape was released. Gotti narrates as much as he raps, thanking an old friend for an overdue come-up they’ll never see through together. “If I knew talkin’ to you was my last time/The other night, it wouldn’t have been about no CM9,” Gotti promises.
Sometimes Gotti turns in a better chorus himself than the mixtape’s guests designated for the job. Kodak Black is the exception that steals the show on “Weatherman,” hawking a fresh-out-of-jail hook about coming up and needing more, ad-libbing it all in his stylish whine. Gotti has taken a mixtape-like approach to sharing space with his featured emcees, but he’s nearly overstocked the tracklist’s obvious centerpiece. “Castro” is a star-studded blunder that packages some of the mixtape’s best and worst rapping hand-in-hand. Big Sean and Kanye West are here mostly in spirit, crashing the party with unforgivably clunking punch-ins like “Spanish chick—J. Lo” and “Astronaut—takeoff.” Quavo and 2 Chainz save the day with full-length verses of their own, injecting a bit of zany character into an otherwise tepid group project. Several months after the same troupe of emcees gathered for a Kanye West single called “Champions,” “Castro” feels a bit like the party’s stale leftovers. But it’s still a coup for Gotti, and he holds his own confidently. Last year, he plucked “Down in the DM” from its original mixtape tracklist and built a year and bonafide album around its success. Gotti’s chipped away and crammed at least a couple more single-worthy tracks into White Friday, enough maybe to keep himself afloat through 2017. Either way, the guy doesn’t let up.
