Well I absolutely LOVE the song and this video and I might have wept throughout.
I have THOUGHTS!
👉 I know some toxic people get weird about saying other members exist when you're talking about solo work but a; these are my genuine thoughts and b; I beg them to get a grip. 😂 That said: doesn't it feel like a twin video with Fri[end]s? Not intentionally and not in competition or anything but there are parallels! The unhappy in spaces where everyone else is happy, the brief clone, toothbrushing as a metaphor for domesticity 😂 (plus the ooh ooh ooooohs in the song)
👉 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind! When he's a child in the crib, when he's hiding and the woman comes to find him, the twisty realities...
👉 It's another video that feels like it's about authenticity, freedom and breaking out of expectation. I obviously see certain coding everywhere because I'm very fruity and my lens is super gay. I think there are queer readings of it - coloured lights in the door, the fact that they don't hold hands as they leave the construction behind - but then authenticity and freedom are just very queer themes generally so I'm not saying he just came out. Just that it might ring emotional for anyone who is restricted in any way, queer or not. 🥹
👉 I'm a Tae Collab truther for sure now. The song! And I don't think this was a feat, right? So that's Joonie singing the chorus?! UNREAL.

Obviously we have to wait for the video to know the story, but for anyone who’s studied any kind of social history/psychology/sociology/etc. And knows a little about the diagnosis of hysteria, Victorian mores, the use of lobotomies/shock therapy/etc to treat women who failed to live up to patriarchal ideals and the minimizing of women’s physical and mental health issues historically in the medical and psychiatric fields plus the old Hollywood of it all… the imagery is Telling The Story. Aizo: He’s more ambitious than anyone I know, and he works really hard as proof of it. But that’s exactly why I want him to fix the fact that he can’t be honest, y’know? He should just say so if something’s too hard or if he’s troubled by something on his mind. To me, it looks like he’s reluctant to show others that part of him. We’ve been together for a long time, so I wish he’d depend on me a little more.
Yujiro: Keep this between us, but the fact that he’s too kind worries me… Regardless of whether he’s confided in or not, he’d take it upon himself to get involved, and he’d get engulfed by the surrounding negativity and grow depressed as well… I wish he’d show more of his kindness to himself too.
