my latest lego minifigure customs. i considered doing some blending between the torso and bottoms, but that negates the silly charm of it being legos. maybe i'll do a set someday that's more artsy and blended... but for now, Mer-Tony (and Dummy) and Octomer-Bucky

I'm Four Bricks Tall and I'm a photographer living in Spain currently.
I've been shooting LEGO minifigs and models since 2013. I started right here on Tumblr as Ogle My Lego but then changed to Four Bricks Tall because I couldn't have "Lego" in my domain name.
So being here again feels like home. This place and Twitter feel like the good old days before Instagram, and everyone chasing likes and followers there.
I like trivia and LEGO so that's kind of the reason why I chose my username: the height of a minifig is four bricks tall.
My favorite themes in general are medieval fantasy and castle, steampunk, and apocalypse.
I have professional experience as a photographer and I teach some of the stuff I know to toy photographers. I really love watching people develop their skills. It's great to see someone grow their skills month after month.
I'm a LEGO Community Ambassador of @brickcentral too. That's just a fancy title to say I am the representative of BrickCentral to The LEGO Group. It's a lot of paperwork 🤣

And now for something completely different.
Introducing my beautiful girl... ✨Ribbrick. ✨
...These little guys were inspired by some demo Lego minifigs that a friend of mine made of our characters, a long time ago.
...So when I found a tutorial online of how to print your own custom faces onto Lego minifig heads, I knew this was something I needed to do. And I'm really happy with how they turned out!
I sent some to that same friend and he did some awesome photography of them! Please go check out his post !
Anyways, these guys have been a little passion project of mine over the past year-ish. I designed/drew their faces and bodies with the help of a few template/sizing resources online, and applied them all to the Lego by hand using this TheCrafsMan tutorial as a guideline: (x) (With some changes)
They aren't perfect, but I'm really happy with how they turned out, and honestly, I love them so much, and I intend to make more!
I hope you guys get a kick out of ‘em, too.

Indiana Jones
Indy had explored many treacherous places in his lifetime, but the cave he found himself in now was one of the most daunting. The musty air was thick with the stench of decay, and the only sound was the crunching of bones underfoot.
As he made his way through the narrow passages, his torch flickering in the darkness, he could feel the cold, clammy walls closing in around him. And then he saw them: spiders, crawling over the walls, their beady eyes glinting in the torchlight.
Indy took a deep breath and pressed on. He knew there was something valuable hidden in this cave, and he was determined to find it. He carefully examined the skeletons, searching for any clues.

The blacksmith
This is one of my favorite photos I ever made. It was quite an effort with smoke, practical lights, flashes, and flags around this tiny MOC.
I love how it all came together with the smoke wafting over the "fire." There's an LED inside, under the flame parts, causing that orange glow most visible towards the left.

My name is Metarix and I am an AFOL (adult fan of LEGO) from Chicago! I’ve been an avid LEGO builder since the age of 4 and have been a Lego photographer for around 7 years now!
Some of my favorite LEGO themes that I enjoy to build and photography are, Lego Superheroes 🦸♂️ and Lego Castle 🏰. I also enjoy creating original stories of my own. I currently have a medieval fantasy adventure story, Age of Wonders going on my Instagram, which will surely be posted here too!
