who was responsible for the cover design of the nyrb classics imprint & do they know they’re doing g-d’s work

#they’re so pretty i want to eat them #also the entire imprint is on a blessed mission tbh publishing what they do #for those who don’t know: they publish mostly out of print ‘classics’#and/or translations that have either never been done before or badly needed to be redone #they have the weirdest most eclectic collection and i want all of them #some well-known writers too but most less known #they’re responsible for bringing a lot of sylvia townsend warner’s stuff back into print which is how i first discovered them #if anyone was looking for a lesbian communist writer from the 1930s #on their website they’re like these are the kind of books you wouldn’t find in class but will read once & remember forever #& it’s like yeah i Do remember summer will show #more than any other book i read for british women writers #what a weird book #compells me though #books
