Hey, could I request platonic headcanons with Young Gojo and Geto with a 5-year-old curse vessel? When the child was younger, their parents took them to a doctor who diagnosed the child with a “terminal illness” and needed to be kept under the supervision of doctors. Of course, the parents complied, worrying for their child’s health. Little did they know that those “doctors” were ex-jujutsu sorcerers looking to revive a curse and got potential vessels by deceiving individuals. One thing led to another and the child was somehow compatible with the curse and stayed with the doctors for further testing. Once Jujutsu tech found out about a group of sorcerers experimenting with normal people, they needed to stop it. So, they sent in a bunch of sorcerers to put an end to the shit they had going on only to find many patients, among which was a young child crying. Shoko probably had to check up on every person there to make sure they could return to the world of non-sorcerers with minimal issues when she noticed something wrong with the child. She couldn't quite place her finger on the feeling so she began, gently, asking questions only to find out that the experiment the researchers ran on them resulted in “a strange voice” which was later revealed to be a curse. Obviously, everyone was concerned and, for good reason, felt bad about the idea of killing a child so the higher-ups allowed the cursed vessel to live until they caused a serious problem. Luckily for the kid, and probably everyone else, the curse actually likes them and isn't too upset about the current situation. Sure they’re upset about being stuck in a child’s body, but at the same time, they can't exactly go running around, taking their anger out since it would likely kill their vessel and it would be more troublesome to wait for God knows how long to find a new vessel than to behave until the kid grows up and gets stronger
Sorry that this is really long! I’ve just had this idea stuck in my head for a while 😔

platonic, gn! reader, fluff
Characters: Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto
Note: Holy shit that's a lot… Also, since you didn't mention the parents again I went off the assumption that they aren't in the picture anymore.

Gojo was likely the one who found them in the first place.
That being said, he never would've guessed that the crying child he found was actually the vessel to a cursed spirit.
Seeing as this is before the main timeline, he was likely confused. Sure, he'd heard that curses could use humans as vessels if they were strong and they’re lucky enough, but he had never seen it happen before.
When he was told that he had to be one of the people to look after the kid, since he’s a special-grade sorcerer, he wasn't happy. He’s insistent that he has better things to do than look after a kid.
However, when the principal did budge he still wasn't happy, but eventually accepted the position of a guardian.
Despite how reluctant he initially was to take care of them, he does everything he can to make sure they’re happy and healthy.
Since the kid’s always stuck inside the school he goes into town to take the kid shopping. Sure, it isn't often but at least he gets to relax and gets to see the kid’s smile when he.
Whenever he leaves for a mission, he promises to bring back some stuff for them, so they have something to look forward to once he returns.
Gojo’s relieved that the curse isn't dumb enough to start anything because, as much as he hates to admit it, he’s started caring for the kid.

Unlike Gojo, he wasn't as vocal about his distaste for taking care of a child. That doesn't mean that he was thrilled but he warmed up to them much faster.
Taking care of them is the break he needs to detach himself from the world of sorcerers. There's something about separating himself from all of the issues that come with fighting curses and just taking time to care for them that is calming for him.
On a similar note, he would do anything to make sure they were safe and sound once he warmed up to them.
He cooks the kid’s favorite foods. It doesn't matter if he doesn't already know a good recipe, he’ll learn it.
Get doesn't like leaving jujutsu tech with them, worrying that a curse would attack and end up injuring the kid. So, instead, he’ll take walks around the school with them so they aren't stuck in the dorms all day. However, with enough begging from the kid, he’ll cave and go into the city with them, but they aren't allowed out of his sight.
When he left jujutsu high, he felt bad about leaving them behind but didn't want to worry about them getting injured because of him.
Not only that but if they got caught by sorcerers, they would undoubtedly be killed due to being a vessel and on the enemy’s side
As long as the curse inside of them doesn't cause any issues, he’s fine with it, though he does worry at times.

Update on the Hatchetfield One-shot I ran!
The game started off with a talent show. Richie did magic tricks and roped Pete into helping. They had a few mishaps but overall it went well. Grace recited digits of pi and then started a sermon and had to be escorted off stage. Stacy did cheer with the rest of the cheerleaders. Steph played piano and actually won the talent show. Her reward was a pair of purple glasses and a coupon to Pasquali’s.
The glasses let Steph see Sigglette, who was routing through Pete’s bag and stole his chocolate bar. Pete’s player actually brought a chocolate bar so that got passed around the whole session depending on which character had it. Richie, Ruth and Ted all encouraged Pete to talk to Steph. He eventually got invited to go to Pasqualli’s with her. Grace’s parents were disturbed by the swearing in other student’s songs and went to go complain to the Principal. Steph went to talk to Snigglette, who was invisible to anyone who hadn't touched the glasses. This is something I would change if I ran it again, since it took longer than I expected for the glasses to get passed around. I would just let the party be able to see her from the beginning. Steph got the chocolate bar back, and told Snigglette she should talk to the cops if she was in trouble. Snigglette followed Steph to Pasqualli’s. Richie and Ruth decided to follow Pete, but didn’t actually have a ride so Pete had to drive them to the restaurant so they could continue stalking him.
I made a word search with eye-themed words in it. Steph’s player had the most fun with that. Stacy put the glasses on and was able to see Snigglette. She fed her breadsticks. Pete also got the glasses and after Snigglette mentioned Blinky takes away food as punishment, called the police. Grace, seeing people talk to thin air, though they were high and threw holy water at Steph. This caused a scene so basically everyone in the restaurant was watching them and Grace got kicked out. She met Max, who tried to flirt unsuccessfully. When Max entered Pasqualli’s, Richie hid under the table. Max bullied Pete, who eventually left the restaurant. Richie and Ruth snuck out with him as well. Officer Bailey finally showed up, and upon seeing no purple child in distress, left, because the police in Hatchetfield are not good at their job.
Everyone went home. Stacy asked Richie to tutor her and he took three hours to respond to her email. Ruth and Pete were coaching him in what to write but had opposite advice. Stacy was asleep by then but Richie got a simple “yes” in response. In the morning, both assumed it was a glitch in the system.
At school the next day, rumors have spread about each character. During calculus, they receive a creepy math problem with their names in it. At some point they got a different paper after realizing someone was off. They tossed the creepy paper in the trash, but Snigglette picked it up. Pete gave Richie, who then gave Grace, the glasses so that everyone could see Snigglette. Stacy started feeding Snigglette candy. Richie started theorizing and trying to figure out what was going on. Purple writing started to appear on his notebook, introducing itself as Blinky.
Stacy and Brenda went to the bathroom during passing period and Steph could see graffitied rumors on the wall that Brenda couldn't. Steph saw a purple figure in the mirror, but no one was there when she turned around. During lunch, Max, now with purple tinted eyes, leapt up on a table and started shouting rumors about people. Richie and Pete ran to the library to escape him. Max was eventually sent to the counselor's office.
In the library, Richie and Pete tried to research Blinky. They found a few newspapers from 1824, but nothing much. They decided to try the public library instead. Butas everyone left school, Max stood in front of Stacy’s car, continuing to spill secrets. Richie hid from him under the car, and rolled from car to car to escape. Stacy and Steph, not used to being on the receiving end of Max’s bullying, were frightened. Grace ignored Max’s continuous flirting attempts and went to babysit Tim. Pete had a vision of hitting Max over the head with a nearby metal pipe and Stacy had a similar vision of hitting him with her car. Pete threw the pipe, not trying to hit Max, just to get his attention, which worked. Pete managed to lose him in the school, ending up in the counselor's office with volunteer counselor Dan Reynolds. He pretended he just needed to grab a college pamphlet and then left. I don’t think I did a great job roleplaying Max. It’s not a character trope I’m used to playing, so I don’t think he came off as threatening enough, which messed with some things later down the line.
Pete and Richie went to the public library to do more research. Steph and Stacy went there to try and study. Grace ended up there because Tim needed to check out a book. Richie found more newspapers about Willabella. He also found that there was a Black Book that had been checked out 15 years ago, but the name of the person who took it was corrupted. They used Snigglette’s ability to reveal it. It shifted between two names, Holloway and Holliday. Googling Holloway got one article about Miss Retro’s shutting down and Holliday had nothing, although Grace recognized it as the name of the last guidance counselor.
Miss Tessburger tracked down Steph and told her that a rumor was spreading that Steph was pregnant. Tessburger tried to take her phone, but was unsuccessful. My dice really betrayed me today. I rolled like 5 ones. Miss Tessburger left, and soon after all the players received a call from a mysterious person. Surprise, surprise, it’s Blinky! He threatened to spill more of their secrets but couldn’t get much in before Snigglette shut down all the phones again. That ability turned out to be the only one they used the whole session.
The party got off track for a bit here, because Blinky was supposed to give them more directions but they shut him down really quick. Richie, Pete and Steoh decided to go to Miss Retro’s. Stacy and Grace went home. Their parent’s have all heard a terrible rumor about their kids. Stacy heard that one of the cheer squad said Stacy was blackmailing her. She tried to vent to Brenda about it, but she took the other girl’s side. Grace’s parents had heard she slept with Max and were terrified she was going to go to Hell.
At Miss Retro’s, Steph managed to pick the lock, only to immediately trigger a trap and get thrown several feet with minor injuries. Inside, they found the Black Book and the Blade of Truth. All the players loved the props, which made me very happy. They characters were very cautious with the Book, rather unwilling to complete the ritual given that Max didn’t feel like enough of a threat to justify it. Richie did have an interesting idea that since the spell is designed to bring retribution on someone who has wronged them, they could ask for the target to be Blinky himself. They didn’t end up going this route, but I really liked it and would have allowed it.
They went back home. Richie’s rumor was that he got a virus from downloading anime that locked his parent’s out of their bank accounts. Pete’s was that he made drugs in the chemistry lab. Steph decided not to go home, and slept at Stacy’s instead.
The next day, they shared all the information they had gathered. Grace asked about Miss Holliday, since she had talked with her before. Grace found a letter of administrative leave, addressed to Holliday. The party used Snigglette’s ability to see all her emails, finding ones addressed to Duke, and one incoming email from a WCross that just said “found ya.”
The thing is I specifically made Holloway absent, because she’s my favorite character and I knew if I put her in I would get distracted and have her solve all the problems. The party was supposed to go to the counselor’s office and need to distract Dan, but they never did that so I gave them the Book earlier, at Miss Retro’s.
They talked to Duke, because Grace also had a connection to him, since he was trying to get her to see what her church was really like. At this point, I was trying to move things along so they didn’t spend too long with Duke. He mentioned that Miss Holliday had written him a goodbye letter and then vanished a few ago. Most of the rest of the party’s questions triggered the memory curse, so he couldn’t give them much more. But Snigglette broke into his phone and they got the letter and address of Miss Holliday.
Back at Miss Retro’s, they found Holliday’s dead body stabbed by the Black Blade, because they were going in a weird direction and I was trying to get them back on track and had already committed to not having her be in this. Case in point, Richie asked about trying to revive her with the Black Book and I had to stop myself from going on a tangent about all my headcanons about the immortality deal. But then Richie had the idea to use the Blade of Truth, since it’s the opposite of the Black Blade. Creative idea, so I rolled with it and let him ask one question of the knife, which it would answer. He asked if there was a way other than the ritual, to stop Blinky. The answer was to bore Blinky so much he gave up. This was a potential solution I had in mind, but it was the one I least expected them to go for. I really wanted them to do the ritual but Max hadn’t been established as enough of a threat to risk summoning a Lord in Black.
But they were back on track and decided to be very boring. A bit anticlimactic, but a rare happy ending for a Hatchetfield story. Richie didn’t watch any anime and just read history books instead. Grace stopped trying to cancel Prom, and didn’t evangelize to anyone. Pete stopped going on Instagram and posting fun science facts. Steph got tutored by Pete and had to only focus on math and avoid any flirting. Stacy shut herself in and watched crime dramas instead of hanging out with friends.
At the end of the week, they all got another call from Blinky, which they ignored. He then appeared in his human form and tried to chase them down. They pretended he didn’t exist and just talked over him, which infuriated Blinky until he finally just left. They beat a Lord in Black by just ignoring him. I love it.
The players were interested in a session two, so I might run an Abstinence Camp themed one with the same characters. Overall, I had a lot of fun. It has been a year-long endeavor convincing enough of my friends to watch Starkid to run this. I liked the sandbox feel, where the whole town is open for exploration. Having phones isn’t in the Kids on Bikes ruleset, but I really liked how it let people communicate even when the party was split. Watching people puzzle out the lore was fun, that’s something I’d want to be more prepared for next time, having satisfying answers rather than just killing off Holloway. This was my first time running Kids on Bikes, so next time I want to ask for more rolls and encourage people to spend their Adversity Tokens. Richie had Unassuming, which he used a lot. Grace and Pete both used Intuitive, but besides that, not many Tokens got used. They never got low on Psychic Energy Token either and only used one ability. I think it would help if I played less of the Powered Character. I played Snigglette when introducing her and when they had lore questions, which was pretty often. All of us are most familiar with D&D, so no one was used to co-controlling a character. Next time, I would just hand out the cards and let people go from there, even if it ends up straying pretty far from what I had in mind for the character.

Pinecones and Primroses~ A Cyno x Tighnari fanfic Chapter 2
Cyno was lost in his own world. For what, like the fifth time today? He couldn’t help it. He didn’t exactly have anyone to talk to at the moment, what with his best friend fast asleep. Tighnari slept off, a tiny smile plastered on his face.
As he looked out of the window, tiny rays of sunlight seeping through the clouds as the rain died down and the dewdrops on leaves shimmered in the sunlight, Cyno wondered what his best friend was dreaming about. Could it be about what was waiting for them at the camp? He didn’t know.
Although he hadn’t vividly expressed it, he wasn’t all that excited about camp. Definitely not as much as Tighnari was. He could even go as far as to say that he didn’t want to go to camp. What was the point of it anyway? Why flock off to the wilderness if not to do anything productive? He didn’t know. Perhaps Tighnari wanted to do some research in these particular woods. He had been gushing about the different species of plants and insects in this area after all.
That among other things. He also said, quote ‘Maybe this would give us both a chance to, y’know, get out more! After all, it can’t be just us forever.’ Frankly, Cyno saw no problem with it just being the two of them. And it wasn’t just the two of them. They also had Collei. Although Tighnari claims she doesn’t count since she’s his sister.
Okay, so maybe he wasn’t the biggest social butterfly. But Tighnari wasn’t either! Which makes his reasoning behind coming here even more absurd. After all, he had attempted to bludger a kid's brains with a baseball bat for bullying Collei. Ah, he recalls the particular incident like it was yesterday.
Collei had recently been adopted under strange circumstances when she was 7 years old. According to Tighnari, she had randomly shown up on his doorstep, wounded and malnourished, covered in bandages and dark black bruises on her skin.
She was terrified of everyone and everything, indicating a sort of trauma, yet she never mentions it. Tighnari’s father and Cyrus are the only ones fully aware of what had actually happened to her. Lisa, his 17-year-old (also adopted) sister, only knows part of what happened.
But like the annoying elder sister she was, she had refused to give them any information. Collei was apprehensive of them at first, avoiding them as much as humanly possible, voice quivering and body shivering whenever she tried to talk to them.
But she slowly but surely warmed up to them. Tighnari the most. She healed and got better eventually, and was sent to school once she was taught to read and write.
Unfortunately, someone with a pure heart as sensitive as hers was bound to be mocked.
It was math class, and their Professor was droning on about quadratic equations and some other math stuff when a flustered professor suddenly burst into the room.
“Mr. Tighnari?” she called out, adjusting her glasses, and pushing them up her nose. Tighnari looked at her with a puzzled expression and pointed at himself. “You are the elder brother of Collei, is that correct?” She asked, looking at a register she had in hand. His eyes widened in shock and fright. “Why?! Did something happen to her?!”.
The professor simply shrugged and motioned Tighnari to follow her. He got up and nervously followed her out of the classroom. Although he wasn’t called upon, Cyno followed Tighnari. The teacher raised her arched eyebrows but didn’t question his presence.
They made their way to the Principal's office, where Tighnari found a sniveling Collei sitting on one of the chairs there. He immediately rushed to her side and comforted her. “Collei! What happened?! Please don’t cry!” He said, soothing her. She sniffled and wiped her eyes before she spoke, her voice cracking “This kid in my class……made fun… of me.”
Tighnari’s eyes narrowed in anger. “What?! Why?!”
“He…..he made fun of the way I….read.” She let out a choked sob, rubbing her eyes. Cyno and Tighnari could feel anger pulsating in their veins. How dare anybody hurt her?! Tighnari knew one thing for sure, this guy had to PAY. “WHO.” He asked roughly, his voice dripping with venom.
As Collei struggled to remember the kid’s name, the principal was talking to someone on the telephone, most probably Tighnari and Collei’s father. “I…think his name is Scaramouche?” Collei said, voice heavy with sadness and doubt. As the Principal chattered away, he paid no heed to Tighnari as he stormed out of the office, about to do god knows what. Cyno skittered after him, for once providing the voice of doubt.
“I can hardly believe I’m the one who’s about to say this, but perhaps we shouldn’t do something this hasty,” Cyno says, desperately trying to convince Tighnari to not do something he might regret later. “This…this SCARAMOUCHE needs to pay Cyno,” Tighnari said in a dangerously shaky low voice, snapping at him and then suddenly dashing off before Cyno could say anything else. Before Cyno could chase after him, he was stopped dead in his tracks by Cyrus.
“What happened!” He exclaimed, his arms full of scattered papers and important documents, his hair frazzled and all over the place. “Collei got bullied by this little punk called Scaramouche,” Cyno grunted “Tighnari wants to exact justice on him.”
Cyrus narrowed his eyes in confusion. “What do you mean ‘exact justice’?.....” Multiple screams suddenly rang out from a nearby classroom. Cyno and Cyrus looked at each other with the same bad feeling in their eyes and rushed into the room. There he was.
Tighnari had a crazy look in his eyes with a giant baseball bat raised above his head with a couple of kids including a professor restraining him from hitting a dark-haired kid, who was crawling across the floor with a terrified look in his eyes. One thing was certain, the kid was definitely not going to mess with Collei ever again.
Despite how terrible the scene was to recall morality-wise, Cyno couldn’t help grinning in amusement and disbelief at reminiscing the shocked and terrified look on Tighnari’s father's face when the school administration had told him that his son was almost expelled for attempting to murder a younger student. Thank the archons he wasn’t, but boy were the professors MAD. Thankfully, because of a new friend Collei had made along the way, Amber he thinks her name was, Collei had learned to stand up for herself.
The bus they were in suddenly jerked forward, leading Tighnari to stir as he yawned slowly. He sat up straight and rubbed his eyes. Suddenly, he realized he was leaning on Cyno’s shoulder the entire time and blushed in embarrassment. “Did I…..fall asleep?!”. Cyno nodded and smiled lightly “Don’t worry about it. I was just thinking.”.
Tighnari raised his eyebrow in curiosity “Really? About what?”. Cyno pulled a water bottle out of the side of his bag and took a sip of water from it “Remember that time you nearly got expelled?”. Tighnari’s expression immediately darkened, a mix of regret and residual anger crossing his features “Right,” he sighed, reflecting on the particular moment “I wish I had acted more…civilized. He certainly deserved it. But…..I had stooped down to his level in an attempt to teach him a lesson.” He stayed silent for a while, looking grim “Had I really taught him anything? What if I made things worse by intervening, in a violent manner no less.”
“You have come a long way since then,” Cyno reassured, his hand on his friend's shoulder “We were young then. We make mistakes and we learn from them. That’s what life is.” As they stood silent for a moment, Cyno suddenly added “Speaking of life……”
“Oh, Archons no.” Tighnari groaned, folding his ears fully aware of what was coming. Cyno had developed a strange fondness for terrible jokes, just like his adoptive father had, the two occasionally exchanging them. Well, much to Tighnari’s dismay.
“Why don’t scientists trust atoms?” he said, eyes glinting mischievously.
“I’m not answering that.”
“Because they make up everything!” Cyno answered, letting out a chuckle. “You see, we learned that atoms make up everything in the universe, so….” “Yes, yes. I get it Cyno. Your terrible jokes have proven I have gotten better at anger management. I would have strangled you already if I wasn’t.” Tighnari replied quietly, fuming.
“So you say my jokes have helped you? Perhaps I should be telling you some more of them.” Cyno asked as Tighnari physically cringed at the thought of more oncoming jokes. The two were so deep in conversation that they hardly noticed a boy pop out from the front seat and peeking at the two.
“Pardon me, am I interrupting anything?” He asked, giving a coy smile. Tighnari and Cyno flinched at the sudden interruption. Tighnari smiled at him kindly while Cyno gave him a glare “No, you really aren’t interrupting anything.” Tighnari replied, Cyno ignoring everyone and redirecting his gaze back to the window.
“That’s good! I wanted to ask if he had more jokes. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but I quite liked the one he had told to you.” He said, pointing at Cyno, which caught his attention again as he looked at the boy in surprise “Oh! Pardon me, I haven’t introduced myself yet. I’m Albedo.” Albedo said, extending a hand out to him.
Albedo wore a khaki-colored sweatshirt over a plain white shirt with dark navy jeans. His albino hair was tied up in an extremely messy bun and had strangely lifeless teal eyes. Cyno glared at Albedo suspiciously “You..you actually like my jokes?” he narrowed his eyes “Then why weren’t you laughing?” Nobody ever claimed to find his jokes funny. Not even Collei or Cyrus.
His eyes crinkled when he grinned as he rested his chin on his hand. “Well, a joke's ability to induce laughter is a…..separate matter. But I certainly find them fun!” Cyno looked at him strangely and ignored him, glaring at him before taking a book out of his bag and concentrating on that instead. Albedo looked at him with a slightly hurt expression. “....I see.” he turned away, understanding that he wasn’t wanted at the moment.
Tighnari nudged Cyno with his elbow and looked at him puzzled “Didn’t he want to hear more of your jokes? Go on.”
“I’m good.” He mumbled, gaze fixed to his book. This reaction from his friend had just made Tighnari even more confused.
“No one EVER wants to hear your jokes. Why won’t you tell them now to someone who genuinely enjoys them?” he insists gently.
“I just don’t. I don’t like the look of him.” Cyno snapped at him, clearly not wanting to interact with Albedo. Tighnari blinked at his eyes in shock, to which Cyno’s expression softened “I’m sorry.” he said, rubbing the back of his neck “I shouldn’t have snapped like that.”
“No, no.” Tighnari said, his hands fidgeting with his tail. “I shouldn’t force you to talk to anyone you don’t want to.”
The two sat in a guilty and awkward silence, avoiding each other's eyes. However, it didn’t last for long as their bus suddenly screeched to a stop. The kids around them immediately unbuckled their seatbelts as they reached the racks above their seats to retrieve their bags and luggage. Tighnari and Cyno got up to do the same when a boy who seemed to be one of their camp counselors opened the bus doors for them.
Everyone rushed to get outside and heaved their baggage along with them. The bus had stopped at a gate that, sure enough, had a sign that read ‘Stellar moments’ above it. On both the sides of the gate, there were tiny flickering lanterns with a soft glow emanating from them. It was already very dark, despite it not being considerably late in the morning. The cascading trees above them blocked out the sunlight, making the environment around them far cooler than it would’ve been in the summer. The grass beneath their feet was soft and wet, making a tiny crunching sound when stepped on.
The boy who had opened the bus doors for everyone stood in front of everyone and gave them a wide toothy grin. He wore a fitted, long-sleeved button-down shirt in forest green. It had all sorts of tiny details like stars around the cuffs and collar. He also had dark khaki pants, waterproof hiking boots in brown, and a tiny white name tag that read Venti. Venti had a child-like face with teal coloured eyes and medium length braided dark black hair that got a brighter and brighter teal as it went down to its tips.
His smile reached his eyes, making the crowd feel more at ease in this seemingly unfamiliar place. “Good morning everyone! Welcome to summer camp! You can call me Counselor Venti. I hope you all had a nice journey, now if you would all follow me to get assigned to your cabins.” He turned with his back facing the other campers and went into the shadowed canopy in front of them as he motioned everyone to follow him.
The crowds whispers echoed as everyone trudged behind the counselor. Cyno and Tighnari gave each other pointed looks, before following him themselves.

I don’t often post actual post-ey things (mainly because I worry I will sound stupid or something), but I guess I’d like to vent/open up a bit.
My name is Adelaide, and I am a 23 year old transfemme. I am happily engaged (and due to be wed) to the most spectacular person I’ve ever met. I’ve finally moved away from my toxic family, and am the first member of my family in two generations to successfully move out. I, after nearly five years of neglect finally have my drivers license. I have gotten on medications that have, after years of feeling shitty, finally started working for me. I am, for the first time in a long time, hopeful for my future.
I am far and away from any degree. I’m not in college, though I’d love to pursue a career in research. I’ve always been fascinated by chemistry and biology, and some particular fields of interest of mine are materials science (primarily biomimetic materials and polymers), genetics/molecular biology, and biochemistry.
By no means am I an authority in any of those fields. My work is that of an amateur, though a passionate one. I hope to someday elevate my hobbies into an actual career.
In the meantime, I work in food service. Working at Domino‘s, I sometimes work 80+ hour weeks to stay ahead. It’s a shitty job, but my coworkers and fiancé make it bearable.
For as long as I can remember, I have struggled with symptoms and things that felt alienating. I didn’t know until my latter teen years /why/ I struggled with suicidal and intrusive thoughts. Why I dissociated. Why I couldn’t feel and process things as others of my age did. Why I couldn’t do things as others did.
When I was young, I attended public school like most. For the first few years, years I can scarcely recollect, I was largely left alone. I got placed in the SEARCH/Gifted program at my elementary school, got to do the „Odyssey of the Mind‘ extracurricular stuff. I didn’t really have to try?
Around second grade is when things began to take a social turn. As the children of my age grew, the distinctions between us became more noticeable. They could no longer be ignored, and I was bullied both verbally and physically. This, along with family problems I will not go into, extracted a heavy toll. Around fifth grade, I had begun to lose all interest and enjoyment in school. I experienced severe anxiety and panic attacks just about every morning. My teachers were kind and fair, and exhorted me to try and commit, but I just couldn’t.
In the sixth grade, I was sitting on the bus. A kid, whom I never met, started berating me for my glasses (of all cliches) and long hair. I tried to ignore him, and he started walking to the back of the bus. While my back was turned, I heard thudding- Before I could turn around, I was cold-clocked in the back of the head and collapsed onto the bus floor, unconscious.
A few moments later, I came to, and felt him stomping me in the back of my head and neck. I curled up and assumed some kind of tornado drill position. Nobody helped. The bus driver didn’t even stop.
When I got to my stop, I could barely stand up. My face was swollen, bruised- Bleeding. Neck sore, the works. I staggered off the bus and must have fallen in my yard. My mom found me, and I woke up to her crying over me in the kitchen. After a trip to the hospital (and being treated for a severe concussion), we went to the principal. The bus footage showed the whole attack. Her advice was to not come back to school for a bit, or not take the bus. The kid wasn’t even suspended.
So I began homeschooling in the sixth grade. I no longer had any time away from my family and their fighting. My entire social circle was cut to my immediate family. I literally had no friends, no social media, no online presence. My world was an echo chamber, a set of walls insulated from any external force. I became depressed, anxious, miserable- Each day I saw my family grow more resentful of one another- Watch them age- Struggle with their health. As the years went by, I came to dread losing any of them. What if they separate? Estrange themselves? What if they die?
My family was my world, and mortality meant Armageddon. As the isolation continued, my mental state continued to wane. I eventually reached a zenith where I couldn’t even see or recognize faces (a phenomenon apparently called prosopagnosia?) that weren’t my family’s.
In 2018, that all shattered when I beheld the face of the man I now call my husband (to be). I was at the hospital- My grandfather was in kidney failure for the third time in six months. I had been attending him day and night, sleeping at the hospital to relay information to my relatives.
I was at the chapel downstairs when it happened. I was playing the piano, an upright baby grand- I wasn’t playing hymns. I was playing Kingdom Hearts and other things when he stepped in. He smiled and I saw him.
I saw him and I waved back.
All at once, I was confused and elated. Terrified and curious. Before I could process his actions, and my response, he walked away.
I sat there. Lost in a panic, not sure what to do or where to go. I was paralyzed- But I did not have time to think for long.
In a Moment that would forever change the course of my life, he came back. He sat at one of the benches, listening to me play. For the first time in forever, I spoke to a stranger. And we spoke as though two old friends, long parted and happily reunited. We talked for nearly four hours, spoke with warmth and gentility I’d never had before.
I was nineteen years old. In a few months, I had plans to kill myself- A Plan I’d long meditated since I was 16. My 20th birthday was to be the last day of my life. I had never challenged the cynical, bitter, hopeless attitudes I’d maintained for years, and in an instant, all of them began to crumble.
Here was this man- A writer, a poet, a bookworm, a Trekkie, an aspiring forensic scientist- This impossible man who all at once enamored me, and ensconced me in affections and wonders I’d never had.
He introduced me to his media- Supernatural, Doctor Who, Homestuck- The Tumblr Trifecta. I didn’t even have a phone or social media- We talked over my landline and messaged on Google Hangouts. We watched movie on Rabbit. Despite the distance of our worlds, we were never apart.
He and I shared many agonies. Our families and circumstances varied, but we understood one another’s pains and joys.
Through him, I began to grow. I began to love him more than I hated myself. I love him, and my heart beats because of him.
Since we began our relationship, we’ve found time in the unlikeliest of places. Sleeping in waiting rooms and gynecology balconies, staring at the stars from a parking garage, dancing in the rain on rooftops. We’ve walked cobblestone streets and dirtied our hands on the forest floor. We’ve swam in rivers and dived in springs. We’ve slept on rat infested couches and laundry room floors. Spent the nights at our shitty jobs. We’ve laughed in my old RV laboratory, and spent New Years at a nerd pub.
My world is no longer just walls and a four poster bed. Because of him, I find portraits in puddles flowers in ashes. He is, without a doubt, the smartest person I’ve ever met.
As the vistas of my life expand, so too has my character evolved.
I now have come to terms with my neurodivergence. I understand that I am autistic. I understand that I have ADHD. I understand that I am bipolar. And I accept that my symptoms- My manic episodes- Do not make me a bad person. They don’t make me lazy. They don’t make me weak. I am now able to be myself- And while my internalized transphobia still hurts me each time I pass a mirror, I’m getting better everyday.
I now have friends, loved ones, people whom I can trust with my very heart and soul. People who have showed me kindnesses I never felt I deserved.
Maybe one day I’ll post more about other stuff and childhood stories (like evacuating for the end of the world in 2012 and finding grenades in my grandpa‘s cabin and falconry with owls and stuff). But for now, all I can say is that I am in a good place- And grateful for the way my life is shaping.

Women scientists at famed oceanography institute have half the lab space of men
SIO’s 56 women scientists have on average half as much research space and one-third the storage space of their 157 male counterparts, according to the 95-page report by a task force of SIO faculty and staff and UCSD officials. The 16 labs defined as “very large” all belong to men. Women also have less office space. And of 32 coveted storage containers in service yards on site—as opposed to at less convenient remote locations—31 are assigned to men.
The authors said the differences could not be “explained away” by funding, years at SIO, discipline, or research group size. “Our analysis points to the existence of widespread, institution-wide cultural barriers to gender equity within Scripps,” they concluded....But its findings echo those of an investigation nearly 30 years ago led by Nancy Hopkins, now a biologist emerita at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In the early 1990s, under cover of dark, Hopkins measured every lab in the biology building there before leading a groundbreaking 1999 report on systematic discrimination against MIT faculty women. Hopkins calls the new results “stunning. … I looked at this thing and I thought, ‘Oh my God, 30 years; I was doing this 30 years ago.’ It has been written about and talked about and it’s still happening.”...When the authors of the new study corrected for variables such as funding, time at SIO, and discipline that might explain the stark differences in space assignments, they came up empty. As faculty gained more funding, space assignments for men grew at four times the rate that women’s did. And as the size of their research groups grew, men’s research space expanded at nearly double the rate of women’s. The gender gaps persisted across research disciplines, meaning the clustering of men in a field that needs more space—say, oceangoing research versus computational studies—could not explain the discrepancies. Nor did research space track with the length of time a scientist had been at the institution, making it unlikely that some fraction of the space differentials could be explained by men on average having been at SIO longer....The task force also illuminated dramatic differences in perceptions between men and women among 77 active faculty who responded to an anonymous survey. Asked whether they had sufficient space for their work, 42% of women said no, versus 6% of men. Only 10% of women found space assignments to be transparent versus 28% of men. One contributor to the lopsided space allocations is a practice called “inheritance,” the authors write. SIO policy requires that space be returned to the institution for reallocation when a faculty member dies or retires, but the policy is often ignored when a departing principal investigator simply assigns their space to an heir—a practice that has disproportionately benefited men, especially those with the largest labs....She soon generated a color-coded bar graph showing men at all career levels ahead of women in lab space per capita. “It just jumped out at you as, ‘Holy crap, this isn’t good.’”“This is still an ongoing problem for everyone at every level,” adds a woman faculty member at SIO who asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the issues. “This is not just geoscience or Scripps. This is all of STEM [science, technology, engineering, and math].”

Ok so this is the third time that I'm sending you an ask tonight. (or is it night time in your country?) I'm being annoying right now but whatever. So I've been cackling about those salt fics you wrote because they are just amazing. I have a request, though it is up to you to write it or not. So, can you write a salt fic where someone got an interview with Ladybug (probably Aurore) and then they ask her why they replaced the old heroes like Rena Rouge, Carapace and etc. and LB is just like I don't work with dumb shits or somethin'. Then there is also a new Black Cat (Probably Luka, Felix, or Damian) because Adrien here is an asshole and this fic is saltier than salt water. Then LB also insults Alya's blog and their school. Those foolish mortals get some lawsuits and the rest is up to you. (This request is probably messed up since it's already midnight here and I can't sleep.)
You're never annoying, I just apologize that it took me so long to get to you. I do hope you don't hold it against me, darling.
A one on one interview with Ladybug was basically unheard of if you weren't the Ladyblog or Nadja Chadwick. Ladybug had made it firm that she wasn't a celebrity, she was a hero. She wasn't there for clout, for attention, for fame or fortune. She just wanted to keep Paris safe.
That's was Aurore admired about her. And why she felt queasy as she sat across from the heroine, who had given her of all people an interview. But she got ahold of herself, taking deep breaths as the cameraman began counting down. And when he hit 'one', she put on her best smile and straightened in her seat.
"Hello Paris! Welcome back to 'Latest Buzz'! I am your lovable host, Aurore Beauréal. Today I am here with a very, very special guest, our very own heroine of Paris; Ladybug!"
Ladybug beamed right at the camera, but gave a shy little wave, giving away the nerves she obviously had.
"Now, Ladybug, I'm so glad you requested to be on the show. You know, I initially thought I had misheard when Estelle told me. Usually you're not big on personal interviews." Aurore gave her full attention to Ladybug, but keeping the bright, friendly smile and perfect posture.
"Well, I tried a few times actually. But when I did, none of them were really great experiences." Ladybug admitted and both girls immediately thought of that disastrous Face-to-Face interview. It left a bitter taste in their mouths. "My issue is that misinformation has been spread around a lot recently. It's made me realize that I need to find more trustworthy sources."
"Ladybug. I vow on my integrity as a host and Estelle's reputation as a journalist that we are people who research facts. We don't ambush our guests, we respect them." She said, placing a hand on her heart. Ladybug saw an honesty in her eyes that she hadn't seen in such a long time. It honestly made her feel.. Respected. "Now, Ladybug.. We both know you have a lot of fans. A lot of admirers. False information can be spread so easily these days, which sources specifically are you telling people to avoid?"
"Well.. With Face-to-Face, I found that I was entirely ambushed in that interview. I wanted to speak about my hero work, but instead Nadja kept trying to needle her way into my personal life. That picture she had shown in largely out of context; when Dark Cupid attacked and Chat Noir was under his spell, it was the only way to get him free."
"Yes, I remember watching that. I'll be honest Ladybug, I felt bad for you." Aurore bit her lip, but smiled a bit when Ladybug nodded. "I mean, Chat Noir wasn't helping either. He seemed to be trying to push this narrative forward that you two are a couple."
"And we're not!" Ladybug burst out before she could stop herself. Everyone in that studio could hear the utter stress and frustration in her voice. "I've begged and begged Chat Noir to stop with the flirting, the 'telling people we're dating', everything! I just wanted him to focus and he couldn't seem to do that!"
"Is that why you replaced him? Because of his slacking off and refusing to take anything seriously?" Aurora sat up an bit straighter, her eyes going wide.
".. Not exactly, no. It was a bunch of issues that eventually piled up and boiled over." Ladybug made some gestures with her hands, trying her hardest to find the words but just letting out a long and pained sigh in the end. "I do enjoy my new partner now. He is more serious, more stable. I know he won't go off and pout if I deny something he wanted. I needed an entirely new team, as a matter of fact."
"Well I am going to say, on behalf of everyone here, that we're glad. We swear on our integrity as journalists that if such rumours were to ever surface again, we will do our proper research." Aurore beamed and many of the staff and crew behind the cameras nodded and gave Ladybug their thumbs up. Honestly, it warmed Ladybug's heart to see such support.
When had been the last time someone had supported her like this? Sure, her parents supported her, but her friends..? Her peers? No, none of them had supported her in a long time.
"Speaking of research, I'd say to stay away from the Ladyblog." It burned to say it but it had to be said. Alya had crossed so many lines it wasn't even forgivable at this point. She had gone too far, had betrayed too many.
"Wait, what?" Aurore nearly jumped out of her seat but quickly composed herself, taking a deep breath. "Pardon me Ladybug, but the Ladyblog has been a vital source of information since the very beginning."
"And I'm not denying that!" Ladybug quickly held up her hands, her eyes desperate now. "But please let me explain. The Ladyblog was amazing in the beginning, but like all things, it started to go astray. It was things like trying so hard to find out my identity. Trying to push that narrative of that whole superhero couple thing.. Ladyblogger Alya Césaire has proven time and time again that she is not trustworthy. I mean, I thought she was my biggest fan. Why does she keep pushing my words aside?"
Many people who watched the interview would agree. If you idolized someone, respected someone, truly looked up to them.. Why would you push aside their words, their wishes to try and push the narrative you're so convinced is true, but isn't there?
"And don't get me started on the whole Lila Rossi craze she seemed to be on now." At Ladybug's mention of Lila Rossi, both Estelle and Aurore had to keep from rolling their eyes. They knew all about the girl.
"You speak as if you are quite frustrated, Ladybug. What an odd reaction to your best friend." Aurore leaned forward a bit in her seat. Everyone else got to the edge of theirs. Ladybug only shook her head, looking utterly defeated.
"That's the thing, she isn't my best friend." It took everything to keep from satin that she hated her, that she had taken away her friends and her life. "The only times she's met Ladybug is when she's been akumatized, which has been around six or seven times at this point. And the other things she's claiming are so outlandish! Saving Jagged Stone's kitten from a airport runway? Clara Nightengale stealing her dance moves? And the Ladyblog just posts it out there, claiming every single story is true. I'm just scared that people are taking this one hundred percent seriously. That's why I had to drop Rena Rouge and Carapace from the team as they believed Lila Rossi over me. They didn't even try to confirm these rumours! And it hurts to think that one day, someone will take Lila's words seriously and get hurt. What if she says it's safe to dip strawberries in bleach? Or tells someone that she found a way to tame some kind of wild animal? Someone would get hurt because they believe her story and try it out for themselves!"
"My goodness, I can definitely see how that is a problem. Misinformation is very easy to spread thanks to the internet, so you being worried is a very relatable thing." Aurore nodded, then tilted her head ever so slightly. "Ladybug, do you know anyone who has taken her word seriously? This is besides the Ladyblog of course."
Ladybug closed her eyes briefly, mentally debating with herself before finally giving in. These things needed to be said.
"Collège François DuPont. Now I wasn't there personally, but I heard about this situation and looked into it. The entire situation was appalling. Apparently a student was found to have cheated, assaulted another student, and commited thievery. But the thing that stuck out is only one person saw her do all of these things; Lila Rossi. No investigation was done, no questioning other students. This student was then expelled immediately. Her teacher and her principal didn't even give her a chance. And from what people have been saying, Miss Rossi's behaviour is actively encouraged in that school. She misses countless days, no, months of school, claiming she's traveling. But when she was supposedly in Achu, doing whatever it was she was claiming with Prince Ali, I was fighting her akuma here in Paris on Heroes Day!"
"I was at school the day that happened. I knew the student that happened to. They're the nicest person in that school! Never a bad thing to say about anyone, always willing to help! I agree with you on how things were handled, it's a level of incompetence that is baffling." Aurore's hands slowly curled into fists as she remembered it all. She slowly shook her head. "The principal, their teacher, their class who backed up Rossi. It must have hurt them so much, made them feel so alone."
"That's why I want people to be more careful with what information they take as fact. It's so important, because stuff like that can lead people to a desperate place. They feel alone, like the entire world is against them. I wouldn't have let the principal and the teacher get away with that gross negligence in their jobs." Ladybug leveled her gaze directly to the camera. "People of Paris, please listen to what I am saying. I am here to be a hero, to protect you from the terror of Hawkmoth and to defeat him. But please, do not be like Principal Damocles, do not be like that teacher and her class at DuPont. Do your research, look up your facts. Do not let a liar lead you to do something dangerous and hurt yourself as well as others. Respect each other, talk and be honest. I swear on my life that I shall do the same. You are the people I swore to protect and I love. I am saying this all to protect you. And I'll hope you'll all forgive me for not protecting you sooner."
...
The interview rocked Paris. Ladybug speaking so openly about her frustrations, about the discrepancies in the Ladyblog and Lila Rossi had many people double checking the sources of everything they learned from that blog.
Alya could barely show her face as she made her way though the school hallways. Her reputation as a journalist had gone down the drain. People had basically started boycotting her blog, harrassing her, or trash talking her on other forums and sites. Even a lot of news outlets picked this up.
What hurt the most from that interview last night was Ladybug's words towards her, both as Rena Rouge and as Alya. Surely the heroine had to be mistaken, she had never beytrayed Ladybug! And that Oblivio incident, it was just to show Chat Noir and Ladybug that they were meant to be together!
Her family was upset with her. No, upset was too tame of a word. They were pissed.
"I can't believe she lied to us.."
"Well what do you expect from someone who keeps harrassing Ladybug?"
Alya flinched when she heard the whispers and rushed into Miss Buster's class. The entire class was there, all seated, all looking utterly miserable. Many of them looked as if they had been crying all night. A lot like she had.
"W-where's Miss Bustier?" Alya asked when she eyed the empty desk. Many of her classmates shot her glares, but didn't say anything about the interview last night. After all, they had no room to talk.
"She and Principal Damocles are with the school board now. We're getting a new teacher." Adrien was the one that spoke up. He looked utterly miserable. So unlike his usual self.
"Lila isn't coming back. She was pulled from school when her mother found out what happened." Alix muttered from her seat, arms crossed and shoulders hunched.
The class went quiet as they all internally contemplated how things had gotten like this. Their eyes focused on the door when it abruptly opened and Marinette came strolling in, carrying a box.
"Good morning everyone!" She said brightly, pretending not to notice the downcast expressions on their faces. She set the box on the teacher's desk before she turned towards them. "Oh? What's wrong everyone?"
".. Did you not watch the interview with Ladybug on 'Latest Buzz'?" Alya stared at Marinette, a bit dumbfounded by her friend's lack of awareness of the situation. She had been expecting Marinette to rush in with support and a fiery vengeance against those who had humiliated her best friend, maybe even a fresh pastry. But instead she was greeted with empty hands and a cheerful hello?
"Oh, well I haven't really had the time to watch much television. I mean, with my transfer papers, needing to plan out my new schedule with all of those new classes. Busy as a bee, that's me!" Marinette just beamed, giving Adrien a playful wink that had his stomach churning.
"Wait, transfering?" It was Rose that spoke up, her large eyes seeming impossibly large now. "Transfer what?"
"To my new school, of course." Marinette giggled and clasped her hands together. "I start on Monday."
"New school?!" Alya was on her feet and rushing towards Marinette. The others quickly followed, crowding around her. "What do you mean new school?! When did you ever say you were going to a new school?"
Marinette blinked, as if stunned, then tilted her head ever so slightly.
"I told you all last week, don't you remember?" Marinette tapped her lower lip, seeming to be wracking her brain before she abruptly snapped her fingers. "Oh! I forgot, you all were deep in conversation with Lila about her upcoming event with Jagged Stone and Clara Nightengale. You know, the one she said she'd be attending with Ladybug, since they're such good friends. Did she ever say how it went?"
All of the students shifted uneasily, suddenly seeming to refuse to meet her face.
Alix murmured something so barely audible, Marinette held a hand to her ear and leaned closer.
"I'm sorry, what was that?"
"Lila was lying to us!" Alix snapped as her cheeks went a flaming red.
"About everything! She never knew Jagged Stone!" Juleka spat out in fury.
"Or Prince Ali!" Rose sniffled.
"And she wasn't friends with Ladybug? They were barely acquaintances!" Alya wailed out as tears welled up in her eyes.
But Marinette hardly reacted the way they were expecting. She just gave them a small smile and nodded.
"Oh, yeah. I know."
Alya sucked in a breath sharply.
"You knew..? But why did you never..?"
"Oh Alya, you silly forgetful thing. I told you the day she returned from her long 'trip', remember? I told you she was lying." Marinette gave Alya a smile that said 'oh you silly thing'. "But you told me that I should really check my sources. And I got tired of trying to bring up any lies, since that was always your response. So I decided to just stop. I mean, since you're such an inspiring, honest journalist you must double and triple check every source you come across and found every story to be true!"
Alya flinched and looked away, feeling the churning feeling in her gut again. No, the Ladyblog had been the only source for the stories. The. Only. One.
"And I'm sure all of you knew what you were doing! I mean, it makes sense; trusting the words of a complete stranger over someone you've known for a while now. Some of you since we were in diapers!" She focused her gaze on Nino and Kim, who had the grace to at least look ashamed.
"Marinette, you really should-" Adrien began, reaching out for the girl, but was cut off by her clapping her hands together.
"But it's alright! I decided that fighting with you all wasn't worth it, so I took Adrien's advice and took the high road! Don't bother exposing Lila, she isn't hurting anyone!" Marinette announced brightly, giving her hands a little wave.
The temperature in the classroom dropped by several degrees.
".. Adrien, she's kidding, right?" Nino glanced over at his friend, his eyes pleading for him to deny it all. But the sight of the blood draining from the model's face and the sweat starting to bead at his forehead told him everything he needed to know. "Dude.."
"How could you?! You knew this entire time and didn't even try to tell me?!" Alya rounded on Adrien, fury in her eyes.
"Now, now, don't get mad at Adrien. I'm sure he knew you all were going to do you research. Besides, it's not like this did anything bad for anyone." Marinette pressed a hand to her cheek, still grinning. "I mean, it's not like you all took her advice without doing any research. You didn't try the things she suggested without actually checking them out to be true, right? No one lost any scholarships or job opportunities. No one's relationships were ruined. No one was hurt."
The nauseous feeling spread to all of the class as the reality of everything caught up with them.
"I'm sure everything will go back to normal, right? I mean, I'm sure that that woman from the education bureau isn't here to fire Damocles and Bustier for their severe neglect in their duties. Expelling me with the most mediocre and shaky proof. Surely that's a school I should feel safe in! That I should be proud to be a part of. But alas, my preparations for my new school are already done, so oh well."
Marinette shrugged and adjusted her purse strap.
"Anyhow, I wish you all luck with the amazing things Lila has helped you to do! I know it must have been worth ignoring me and convincing me I was crazy. With all of the free time I've had, with you guys practically replacing me with Lila in the group, I've had tons of time to spend with my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?!" Alya's eyes went owlishly wide as she gaped at Marinette. "But what about Adrien?!"
"Oh Alya, I fell out of love with Adrien forever ago." Marinette shook her head in an almost patronizing way that had Alya's cheeks burning with embarrassment. They didn't even pay attention to Adrien's noises of surprise. "I mean, you claimed I was jealous of Lila getting close to Adrien, that I should let the jealousy go. And you know what? You were right! So I decided Adrien wasn't worth the stress, the embarrassment.. I mean, I couldn't even talk to him straight. I thought he was the most perfect guy in the world! Goodness, did I learn my lesson!"
She giggled as if she found the entire thing amusing. She then beamed at the class.
"Well, ta-ta! I need to get back home and make sure everything is ready to go. I wish you all the best, I really do!"
They all watched, shellshocked as Marinette breezed out of the classroom like it was nothing. Like she wasn't leaving her friends, her school, her life behind. And they all would wonder exactly how badly they screwed up, if she could walk away do easily, without a care.

This is just a request, but do you think you can write something short about gojo meeting his s/o who is a poc and how he’d react to her curly hair 🥺👉🏾👈🏾 the fandom is still pretty new so there’s not a lot of poc drabbles out there if any at all.
Here you go bby, I hope you enjoy 💕✨
Summary: An AU where you’re a sorcerest whose stationed in Japan due to the National Sorcerer Exchange Program I just made up lol. Even though it’s your first encounter Satoru is a big flirt, as usual✨💘
Word count: 1.7k
Tumblr media
It was annoying, being one of the few special grade sorcerers based in Tokyo. Satoru Gojo often wished he could duplicate himself at least three or four times, just to reduce some of the workload stress he had. The older he got, the more he wished he wasn’t the strongest- and that’s a pretty surprising statement on his end.
He felt he couldn’t catch a break. Between special grade work, his students and now looking after Yuji Itadori, who hysterically swallowed a special grade object, he had a lot on his plate.
It was hardly a burden for him. He only wished he could be in multiple places at once. This way, he could make sure the higher ups wouldn’t mess with his students, who meant so much to him.
In sight of the increased special grade activity in Japan and several other countries, the first ever Sorcerer Exchange program was implemented by higher ups across the world. It would ensure that special and first grade sorcerers were evenly spread out and or placed in regions that needed special attention. Satoru wasn’t particularly fond of anything the higher ups did, but this idea wasn’t so bad.
“A government funded, international sorcerer exchange program,” Yaga informs Satoru, who sits across from him, idly drinking his tea.
“And how does this work exactly?” Satoru raises a brow at Yaga before dropping cubes of sugar into his cup, stirring loudly.
“For 6 month spans, high level sorcerers who applied to the exchange will be stationed in different countries to regulate curse activity.”
“Sounds like it pays more. Nanamin might like that.”
“It does, depending on your skill level.” Yaga sits back in his seat. “We’ve already received a few sorcerers from America, Africa, China, Russia-”
“All special grade?” Satoru interjects.
“Currently the exchange program only allows special and first grade sorcerers. Considering the high levels of cursed energy around the world this year, it would be best if we avoided any casualties by placing inexperienced sorcerers in the wrong places.”
“That reminds me. You’re prohibited from participating, considering we’re a red area. Until cursed activity improves here you won’t be allowed to participate.”
“Aww c’mon, you guys suck.” Satoru cocks his head back, sighing loudly.
He already traveled a lot for special grade missions but never for more than a few days. Now there was a whole six-month program and he wasn’t allowed to participate in it? Then again, he couldn’t leave Yuji here with the possibility of the higher ups trying to hurt him again. He promised himself he would protect all of his students.
“There are several meetings I must attend tomorrow and I’d like for you to be there. Don’t be late.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is that all you wanted to talk about?” Satoru is already up and gripping the handle on the office door.
“I’ve also decided to assign a co-teacher to your first years, for your shorter stationed trips every now and then. She’s an extremely talented special grade from the exchange program. So you needn’t worry of a repeat of the detention center incident with Yuji.”
He had already swung the door open, towering above your body in the door frame. Your nose is barely touching his jacket, and hand almost touching his chest as you were attempting to knock. You take a step back, a bit startled.
“Oh! I’m sorry, I tried to knock,” you say, looking up at the blindfolded man in front of you. “I’m looking for Masamichi Yaga?”
Satoru is startled by your flawless Japanese, considering you’re clearly not of Japanese descent. He took note of your tan skin and big, curly hair that was pinned back in certain spots to display your face.
What a cutie.
“No, I’m Satoru Gojo. Principal Yaga’s the one sitting behind me.” He’s not entirely surprised by your appearance, considering he’s traveled all over the world to fight curses. “And you are?”
You almost think he’s flirting, considering how smooth the question was. Also, you’re now recognizing who he is, cheeks reddening a bit.
“I’m (Full Name). You’re the special grade I’m going to be subbing with for the first years! I’ve heard great things!” You politely bow a bit.
“I know.” His grin large and cocky as he steps out the way, allowing you to walk in. “No need to be so formal though.”
You’re slightly put off by his attitude, but principal Yaga interjects quickly.
“(Last Name), come in. I’ve been awaiting your arrival. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.” Yaga is on his feet now, bowing towards you.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you too. I’m excited to work with you all.” You say as he motions you to sit and have some tea.
Satoru has found a reason to stay in the room, plopping down beside you and taking up his tea he had previously abandoned.
“Thanks for sending Ichiji to the airport to help with my belongings. I brought so much stuff, I hope it wasn’t too much for him.” You brain flashes back to Ichiji struggling to hold all of your luggage outside the baggage claim.
“Pffft, feel free to call on him whenever you want. That’s what he’s here for.” Satoru assures you, flashing you a toothy grin. You get the feeling that he probably made Ichiji’s job a living hell.
“I must say, Ms. (Last Name), your Japanese is remarkable. How did you become so fluent?” Yaga asks, filling your cup.
“I’m flattered. I taught myself what I could before attending (insert random ass college name in Japan) University. I’ve always admired Japanese culture so I studied it pretty hard. I can also speak (Native language, if you have one) and (two other languages of your choosing).”
“Wow, your Japanese is better than most locals.” Satoru chuckled. “And you’re pretty too. Lucky me.”
You shifted in place on the sofa. The most powerful sorcerer known to man was sitting beside you and he was complimenting you.
“Thank you,” you say loosely, picking up your teacup.
“Ahem,” Yaga interrupts, earning a tiny snort from Satoru.
“He hates it when I flirt.” Satoru whispers as he leans over towards you. Your face feels a bit hot, and you decide it’s from the steam of the tea in your face and not the handsome man leaning a bit too close to you. You set the cup down after the lightest sip.
“I hate to get down to business so soon Ms. (Last Name), but I’d like for you to get settled in as soon as possible. I’ve mapped out a few assignments for you this week. This is your first.” He slides the first report across the table.
“There have been several reports of abnormal cursed energy in Shinjuku City. It’s likely a special grade. I’d like for you to get to the bottom of it. It shouldn’t be a problem, considering your level of expertise. I’ve forwarded the documents to you as well.” The glint in his glasses makes you chuckle a bit. You flip through the report briefly.
“I skimmed this one on the flight. Whatever it is,” you begin, taking out your phone, “seems to be luring children. This corresponds with the rise in missing childrens’ cases I read about in Shinjuku.”
You place the article on your phone down on the table for principal Yaga to read. You liked to do your own research on locals news to see if curses had any sort of correspondence with a certain area’s events.
“You think a curse is kidnapping children?” Satoru suggests.
“It’s just a hunch. It’s nothing I haven’t encountered before.” You bite the nail on your thumb, realizing the inevitable.
“Unfortunately, if I’m correct, those children most likely aren’t alive.”
You stand up, firmly.
“I trust you’ll take care of it then,” Yaga hands your device towards you.
“Most definitely,” you look at your watch. “And I’ll be done before dinner.”
You offer the principal a smile before you slip on your trench coat, eager to take on your first mission.
“By all means, it can wait until the morning after you’ve rested.” Yaga persists.
“Nope! Not when children are potentially involved. I can’t risk it.” You straighten your clothes, and bow once more. “I’ll report back soon.”
“(Name) doesn’t let jet lag stop her from doing her job. What an admirable woman.” Satoru cooed.
“Well, Gojo-san, it was a pleasure meeting you.” You begin to wave but Satoru is on his feet, and right behind you, making you stumble back again.
“Oh no, I’m coming with you.” He grins. “I’ve gotta see what the most powerful special grade sorceress is capable of in person.”
While you had heard of your own nickname before, you hated when people called you that. You tried your best to be humble about it. There’s always new ways to improve your cursed technique, even if you don’t know how yet.
“So you do know who I am,” you shifted your stance, hands on your hips.
“I’ve heard a few things,” he says slyly. “But I’d like to see them first hand.”
“Hmph, alright then. I suppose you can show me around Shinjuku. It’s been a while since I’ve been there.” You flip your hair, making your way towards the door.
“And it’s your lucky day, I feel like showing off.” You say, peaking over your shoulder.
“Great, it’s a date.”
You stop dead in your tracks, just two steps out of Yaga’s office.
“What?”
“Even after four years of university in Japan? I said, it’s a date.”
The door shuts behind him, and his grin is even more smug.
The audacity.
“You’re not going on a date with me unless you ask me properly.” You roll your eyes, swaying down the steps. So this was Satoru Gojo.
“C’mon sweetheart, we’d be iconic as hell— the strongest man and the strongest woman? We’d be unstoppable.”
“I don’t even know what you look like underneath that thing.” You say, motioning towards his blindfold.
Oh , but you lied. You’d seen his Instagram.
He was a selfie fanatic. That and a cake fiend.
“Wanna see right now? Will it change your mind?” His voice low and steady behind you.
“I’ve got a curse to excorcise.” You roll your eyes, speeding up ahead of him. It didn’t help much considering his legs were so long.
“You know you wanna,” he bends down, voice deep in your ear.
“I’m not listening~
You’re far ahead of him now, attempting to hide the heat on your face and hearing deep chuckles echo behind you.
“Ah, this is going to be the best six months ever!” He laughs heartily.
A small smile crept on your lips.
Maybe it would be.

My MC /OC /YUU who returned to Ramshackle with Jack after resting in the infirmary:
My MC /OC /YUU who drinks a nice cup of hot chocolate to chill out after what they found out about the guys and Grimm and exams: I will not help them.
Jack: I pretty much agree on that point, only I'm getting to know you and I know that at one point or another you're going to crack and eventually come to their aid.
My MC /OC /YUU: Yeah .... I'm just too stupid and kind for these three morons. But in the meantime, I intend to see them scrambling like crazy, hoping that I will arrive for them. * Sigh more relaxed on the couch * For once I'm not getting into other people's troubles, it's very refreshing and restful!
* Crowley appears in the dormitory *
My MC /OC /YUU: ... I better shut up. Yes, Mr. Principal, what can I do for you on this wonderful day ...?
* Crowley explaining how he was scammed by Azul and now tempted to arrest the Octavinelle Leader *
My MC /OC /YUU: Your problem, not mine. You just did not have to fall so easily into such an obvious trap.
Crowley: Oh but it seems to me that Ramshackle's expenses have definitely increased and as I'm the only one here doing some research to help you get back home ...
My MC /OC /YUU smelling tiredness and tremors of anger appear again: ... Are you blackmailing me just to try to live a decent minimum in this dormitory that YOU assigned to me while being aware that it was already inhabited by ghosts, of the dust as thick as a snowy day in the middle of December in Canada despite my asthma and that it was a ruin that at any time at the slightest gust of wind could fall on my head during my sleep? AND GOD THANKS YOU ARE TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO BRING ME HOME !! THIS IS THE MINIMUM AFTER YOUR STUPID MIRROR BROUGHT ME HERE !! AM I A JOKE FOR YOU ?!
Jack: PLEASE MC, DON'T FALL UNCONSCIOUS AGAIN !! * Panic * Mr. Principal, you better go while I can hold her again!
Crowley who realizes he has gone too far this time: Oh yes, I will ... I will go, Professor Vargas is waiting for me !! * Runs away cowardly *
My MC /OC /YUU having turned all red like Riddle: COME BACK HERE BIRD OF DISASTER! I HAVE NOT ENDED WITH YOU !! *Scream in French*

Gojo, Satoru x Teacher! Reader
wc:2k
Tumblr media
"Oya?" Gojo mumbled to himself curiously seeing an unknown person walking aimlessly around the school grounds. He was about to approach you that is until the school principal appeared and talked to them. They seem to be agreeing on something of course being the nosy manchild that he is. He interrupted their little conversation with a smug grin. "Whose this? Yaga?" He questioned while looking at you analyzing every detail he sees on your appearance.
Your big beautiful e/n eyes covered by your prescription glasses and your long and sharp nose to your plump lips and your long h/c hair. You were indeed beautiful/handsome "Y/n L/n" you said putting your hand out for him to shake. "Gojo, Satoru" he said taking your hand instead of shaking it like he should he instead kissed your hand "A pleasure to meet ya" he added while winking.
You just looked at him dumbfounded by his flirtation acts and quickly changed into your usual expression. "Pleasure is all mine." you said slipping your hand out of his and gave him a little bow "I would be the new 2nd year teacher." You said with not even showing any ounce of emotion. 'It's like having another Nanami' he thought.
"Well I shall get going and meet my new students it was nice knowing you Gojo-San." You said and started to head to the 2nd year dorms.
1 Month later
A month has passed you got used to everything that happens which consists of Gojo annoying you 24/7 and actually being friends with Nanami. You had been looking after the 2nd years and yes you have met Yuuta he just recently left to go overseas. Let's just say you got attached to them and vise versa to you. Heck You're practically a mother to them. And you recently heard that there are 2 new 1st years and one of them is actually sukuna's vessel.
You were of course curious so you went to talk to Gojo asking of you could join them in picking up the 3rd 1st year. "Oya? You want to come with me? What did I do to be blessed by your presence~" he said teasingly well that's what you thought but in reality he had been interested in you ever since you met. Call it a little crush he always wanted to get your attention wether it was negative or not he still wanted your attention. He was desperate I mean could you blame him you're a god sent.
Your appearance alone made him like you plus you graduated overseas so you're practically multilingual. You were strict but not too strict wherein you would embarass your own students, no you'll just tell them what's right and that they shouldn't do it again. You were soft at some point well you were particularly soft for Megumi and Maki hearing about their past made you pity them. And you also admire them at how strong they were for living through it.
"I just want to meet the 2 new 2st years and sukuna's vessel don't assume stupid things gojo-san" you said ignoring what hi said. "You know y/n-chan you should start calling me sotaru ya know? We've bonded so much from the past month" he said looking serious for once "bonded? More like annoy me" you said giving him a glance and you saw his grin falter a little "But I'll think about it sotaru" You added mumbling the last part.
He immediately brightened when he heard you say his first name and started grinning like an idiot. "Oh and yea you can come with me picking the 3rd 1st year up tomorrow morning at Morioka station" He said happily and left probably going to the first year's dorm.
Time Skip to tomorrow morning
You have arrived at Morioka station alittle early because some Manchild didn't tell you what the time of the pick up is so you explored the place a little. That is until you saw a familiar black spiky hair talking to a boy with pinkish hair and red Hood. You approach them immediately "Megumi!" You called out to him.
"y/n-sensei what are you doing here" he questioned you "I wanted to meet the vessel and the new 1st years" you said and looked at the boy with pinkish hair "is it you?" You added he nodded immediately "Hai! My name is Itadori, Yuji and my type is someone like Jennifer Lawrence!" He introduced himself while bowing you gave him a little nod "it's nice to meet you ita-" you said but got rudely interrupted by the Manchild.
"Sorry for the wait!" "Oh-!" "Y/n-chan you came!! And itadori you wore it" he said 'is it just me or he sounded happier at y/n than itadori/me' both Megumi and itadori thought "Sensei why is my uniform different from megumi's?" Yuji questioned "oh that's because you can hand in requests for the uniforms" Gojo replied "oh but I didn't request anything" Yuji said
"oh that's because I did it I just thought it would look good" Gojo said "oh- what happened to the uniforms I sent you?" He questioned "so it was you" you said " yes! So why didn't you use it?" He asked confirming your thought and with that you glared at him "I burned them" you said
"Huh?! Why??" He whined "who even in the right mind would even wear those" you said referring to the clothes he sent you well don't bother you don't wanna know. "You're disgusting Gojo" you said making a face (ya know like tanjiro's face to zenitsu) after seeing your expression he immediately stopped and started pounting "what happened to Sotaru?" He mumbled to himself hearing you call him by his last name.
"What a child" you and megumi thought. Then you saw a girl wearing what looks like the jujutsu tech uniform "that must be the 3rd 1st year." You mumbled "hey! Over here!" Gojo called out to her which conformed your assumption. And also attracted multiple unwanted attention many complimenting gojo which boosted his ego and made him happy and some talking about how you look good which made his expression falter.
Then after that you all went to a public locker (is that what it's called I'm not sure) where you put money in it to lock it. To put her luggage in and you all started introduce yourselves "the name's kugisaki Nobara" she said "you're lucky to hang out with a girl like me!" She added "I'm yuji itadori and I'm from sendai." He said 'what a hick. Probably a kid who ate his boogers as a kid.' Nobara thought "Megumi Fushiguro" he said 'Just his name? I hate guys who are all high and mighty. I bet he likes terrorizing seagulls by lighting them on fire or something.' Nobara thought then sighed.
"She just looked at us and sighed!" Yuji said then you stepped out behind gojo because he was in front of you (yeah you're short here hehehhehe) "Sorry I was blocked by someone" you said then glared at gojo "My name is Y/n L/n the 2nd year teacher of jujutsu tech" you said putting your hand out to shake "it's nice to meet you." You added "finally someone reliable." Nobara said
"Well! Let's do it a tour of Tokyo!" Gojo stated you and megumi had the same reaction nothing because one thing's for sure and that is he's just going to trick them while the other 2 however immediately fell for it. They started arguing not that you cared it doesn't really matter "we're going to Roppongi!" Gojo said
And that caught your attention you never been to roppongi before and let's just say Gojo noticed that he may be interacting with the 2 excited 1st years but his eyes and attention is all you looks like he is starting to fall in love.
Your Hopes of actually going to roppongi was crushed immediately and same goes with the 2 1st years when you all went to an eerie building that has a curse in it. It was actually a test for the new 1st year to see how "crazy she is" gojo quoted. And after that you all went to eat and went back to the dorms.
It was all normal and fine after the meet up no problems happened throughout the day. Well that is until you found out that a certain 1st year just died you were shocked of course. Yesterday he was just fine so you were currently wondering around Tokyo to clear your mind it was raining so it made you calmer most people think that a clear day is calmer you thought otherwise you always preferred staying indoors so you liked the rain.
You were currently wearing your usual clothing when going out, you know like shirt and shorts or something and since you weren't in school you could freely wear your piercings. Well you can wear your piercings in school you just preferred not to you don't want your students to get a piercing because of you, you'd be angry with yourself if that happens.
While walking around you saw a familiar gravity defying white hair and iconic blindfold who looked awfully dejected. From about a few meters from you who looked like getting soaked in rain (just imagine that he isn't using infinity) so you immediately went to his rescue and shielded him from the rain with your umbrella. He immediately looked at the reason why the rain stopped and was shocked that it turns out to be you in casual clothes and wearing piercings.
You looked beautiful/handsome before this just made your beauty skyrocketed to a thousand and he was now more interested in you. The way you have multiple ear piercings and that it's attached to both your ear without looking way too tacky is great and your lip piercing drives him to a frenzy especially when he saw your tongue piercing he just wants to drag you to his house and just do it.
You looked absolutely stunning. And it shocked him even more when you asked him to come with you to your apartment. He of course agreed because who wouldn't want to be alone with their crush I know I wont .
So once you guys went inside your apartment you immediately went straight to the bathroom to bring him a towel to dry off and extra clothes from your brother (If you don't have a brother just imagine you do in this bcs he needs clothes TT) who used to live here and hot coco to keep him warm. He was of course shocked to see that you have mens clothing and thought you have a boyfriend which saddens him but it wouldn't hurt to ask now would it? So he did ask.
"Whose clothes are these" he asked while sitting down on the sofa in front of the TV. Hoping it wasn't from your boyfriend "they were from my brother who used to live with me now he's living with his boyfriend" you said " he was quite a big man I think you guys have the same height so I thought it might fit you" you Added he let out a relieved sigh knowing you're still single. Then it clicked why have you been shutting down all his shots in trying to pursue you.
"Why do you always turn me down?" He asked which made you flinch "I-" you started thinking of a good answer to him "I'm afraid of commitment" you said while looking down (same gurl🤧🤧) "I had a bad past when it comes to relationships it always ends with them cheating me so I try to avoid it." You added "I can change that" he said looking at you holding your hands "I like you I really do" he said eagerly "I like you too" you mumbled he of course heard it "what? What did you just say?" He said trying to know if he wasn't hearing things "I-I said I like your hands" you stuttered and getting flustered.
"Oh..." he said dejected when you saw his expression you immediately felt guilty and left you didn't know how to handle emotions very well so you left to make dinner. He felt sad that you denied it instead of telling him the truth he couldn't blame you you were afraid of course but he wouldn't let that stop him he just grew more confident because of what you said earlier. After making dinner you went to check on him "um do you wanna join me for dinner?" You asked him " it'd be nice to have some company when eating for once." You added
"Yea sure why not" he agreed after dinner you guided him to the door and said your good byes "uh bye" he said about to leave but you stopped him by holding his hand which got his attention. And made him look at you and let's just say he was shocked when you pecked his lips and said "I like you too" then slammed your door to his hitting his face and ran to the kitchen to do the dishes.
To be continued...

A/N: This was my first fic so I hope you enjoy it! If you had something different in mind or want to request anything else, please feel free to do so. I had so much fun and loved writing this one!
Tumblr media
Once again Luke and Alex had told him to give up on you, that he had no chance. They didn't want to see how, without even knowing it, you ended up breaking his heart.
Once again Reggie had decided to ignore them and to go see you at high school.
He knew they were only trying to protect him, save him from getting hurt.
He even tried to fight those growing feelings but it didn’t seem to work so he resigned himself.
He was just too fascinated by the way you acted. The way you didn't seem to care what other people thought about you.
Like every morning since they showed up at Julie's garage he watched as the doors of high school opened. And among the crowd of students it wasn’t long until he located you.
At first he went there because he was curious. After so many years without going to high school Reggie wanted to see how everything had changed.
Once he saw you there, so calm, so immersed in your own world, he knew that high school wouldn’t be the only thing that would change for him that day.
From that moment on he discovered that never before, not even in his previous life, had he wanted to attend high school as much as he wanted now.
At the beginning it was nothing more than pure intrigue. Reggie felt attracted to you. There was no doubt you were the type of girl who would catch his attention. So he decided to do some research on his little crush, without telling anyone just yet.
As the days went by he found himself following you to all of your classes. Marveling at the way you didn't seek attention, yet you always managed to catch it.
From the way you walked down the hallway, seemingly without a care in the world, with your headphones on. He wondered what kind of music would you be into.
To the way you always seemed to know the correct answer when asked, despite spending all your time drawing in your notebook. He found it to be so alluring, how clever you were without having to try too hard.
Soon his friends began to notice, seeing how he disappeared daily early in the morning. And how he would come back whenever Julie did.
First they thought that perhaps he was beginning to catch feelings for their mutual friend, the only person that could see them. As they found out later when following him, that wasn’t the case.
They asked him about you, how he felt towards you, what your name was, when did he start going to see you at high school. Endless questions that Reggie was more than willing to answer. A little embarrassed, but excited for being able to finally talk about you with his best friends.
Even if his crush was a little one-sided he thought they would be there to support him, just as he had done many times twenty-five years ago.
Unfortunately for him he soon realized that he wouldn’t have the same luck. Luke and Alex, after listening to him, decided to list each and every reason why continuing to go see you was a terrible idea.
And maybe they were right. They were probably right. But Reggie didn't need anyone to tell him the truth, he needed them to be there for him and for them to be supportive. After all, he was old enough to make his own decisions. If he ended up getting hurt it would be his fault, because he decided so. Not because his friends told him what to do.
That was the reason why he was there once again, sitting on the empty seat behind yours in your mathematics class.
Not that he was too interested on the subject, but he was entertained by watching you draw.
When the bell rang, announcing the end of that class, Reggie said goodbye with a small sigh. He had to leave earlier that day, so he didn’t have time to accompany you to your last class.
He hated having to leave you, even if you weren’t going to notice, but he had to go and get ready. That afternoon Julie would perform a song in front of the whole high school. As her friends they were going to be there to support her.
So this is how he found himself a few hours later, in the high school gym with his bandmates and Julie, watching a group called Dirty Candy perform.
Although he had to admit the choreography was good and the girls were talented, it couldn't be said he was too focused on them. He was busy looking for you.
The whole high school was there, so you must be there too somewhere in the stands.
He only stopped looking for you when he saw the principal begin to give her speech. The stands were completely silent and it was becoming a bit uncomfortable.
The three of them encouraged Julie to go up on stage. They knew this was her chance and they didn't want her to miss it.
Having finished the performances and the speech, Julie took the stage but the students in the audience also began to stand up. The three ghosts encouraged her so she would feel brave enough to start performing.
Luke had been helping her with the song, not wanting him nor Alex to see what both of them were working on. Now Reggie knew why, as he turned around to look at his friend, surprised.
That was a Sunset Curve song with a few piano changes. One they hadn’t released.
Even if you couldn't see him maybe their music would end up making you feel something. That would be much better than nothing, Reggie thought, unable to prevent a huge smile from forming on his lips.
And then, suddenly, there they were. Up on stage with their instruments in their hands.
Reggie couldn't say which of them was more surprised, but he couldn't miss the opportunity. Now that he knew you could see him he had to give his best, play like he had never done before.
He looked for you again in the crowd with his eyes finally falling on you.
His heart skipped a beat when he saw you cheer them on. At that moment he swears he could have started crying but he forced himself to maintain his composure. For the band’s and his image’s sake but also because he didn’t want you to think he was crazy.
On the other hand, you were thinking about how grateful you were that your best friend had convinced you to go with them.
Before that you had come to wonder if it was worth attending, seeing as every year the principal gave the same speech. However that year nothing was the same. One second you were bored to death, wishing you had skipped it as you intended to do at the beginning. The next it seemed like you were in a concert, far away from your high school gym, as you cheered to the rhythm of the music.
Julie and you weren't close friends, but you shared some classes and you got along well enough.
You were surprised and happy to see how she managed to get on that stage, overcoming that fear that until now prevented her from singing.
The fact that she was later joined by three mysterious boys made the performance even better. All three were handsome, that was undeniable. But your gaze was fixed on the boy in the plaid shirt and white t-shirt, unable to tear it away.
There was something alluring about him, in the energy he gave off while playing his bass. And when he approached the boy in the beanie to sing with him, you were amazed. His voice, even if it wasn't as loud as the beanie boy’s, had the same power. A power that seemed not only to affect you, judging by how those who were around you reacted.
Besides, he knew how to connect so well with their public that it made you feel as if his gaze was fixed on you all the time, you thought.
Then suddenly and without warning they disappeared as soon as the song ended.
Seeing how everyone gasped, puzzled, Julie decided to explain the situation. Those boys were holograms and the projector operation involved algorithms and science stuff.
Everyone seemed to agree with that explanation, bored by the technicalities of science. But Julie didn't count on the fact that someone would be very curious about the holograms and how they worked. That someone being you.
“Y/N, we should get going. As amazing as that was, everyone has started to leave.”
“I think I’m going to stay and ask Julie a few questions.” You told your best friend.
“Like, c’mon. There’s a way you can connect with hot musicians and no one is interested in how to do that? Really, just me? Alright, then!” They smiled at your antics, shaking their head.
“You sure?” They asked, to make sure you would be fine going home alone.
“Positive.” You nodded your head, smiling back at them reassuringly.
It took you a couple more minutes, but you finally managed to get them to leave without them feeling guilty. By then the gym was already empty, except for the music teacher and the principal who were talking to Julie.
When they left you realized Flynn was there as well. She approached her best friend with a not so friendly expression. You preferred not to get in the way, stepping aside to give them privacy.
It was hard not to hear their conversation. Thinking that there was no one left in the gym, they didn’t speak in a low tone, and the echo of that place increased the volume of their words. And still, you tried.
You were there when Flynn ran out, therefore when Julie ran after her. And you, without much choice, behind Julie. You would have felt really bad if after that scene you witnessed you hadn't tried to cheer her up. At least you wanted to apologise for overstepping and hearing their conversation. Even if you didn’t do that on purpose.
You also had more questions than ever, that much was clear, but the main thing was to make sure Julie felt better after all that.
Dodging Nick you saw Julie in the distance, entering one of the classrooms.
Accelerating your pace you managed to reach her. She was silent so you took that as the perfect opportunity to ask her if she was doing alright.
But before you could step into the classroom she started screaming, scaring you to death and making you jump.
“You! Stop doing that! I’m serious.” You heard her say. You wondered who she would be talking to. That also made you decide that you wouldn't come out of your hide spot just yet. What if she had found Flynn and you ruined their moment? It would be better not to move, to avoid making any noise.
“Yeah, the whole school saw you. It’s kinda freaking me out.” She kept talking to apparently no one. Most likely with someone who spoke in a low voice, because from your hiding place you couldn’t hear any other voices. At that point you were pretty sure she wasn’t talking to Flynn. But still, you were in a compromising situation. If you came out of hiding, she would think you were spying on her. It would be better to just wait and hope she would end up leaving soon.
“Are you kidding? They loved us. That was a great song, Luke”. That’s when you realized she was talking to her hologram band.
You hoped you weren't interrupting anything important. But Julie seemed to be in a better mood and the facetime conversation you thought she was having could be the perfect ice breaker for your questions. Maybe you could even talk for a bit to the bassist who had caught your eye. It wasn’t every day that you had the opportunity to talk to three Swedish talented musicians.
So you decided to pluck up your courage and entered the classroom.
“Julie…? Who are you talking to?” Reggie heard your voice fill with worry, as your eyes scanned the room. Then he thought about the big mess they were in.
Julie tried to find a reasonable excuse, but you had heard too much. Both at the time and with the conversation she had had with Flynn, to know that she was lying to you.
“I’m sorry, it really isn’t any of my business. Just wanted to make sure you were alright. Had a few questions about that band of yours, as well. But again, none of my business, sorry.” You ended up shrugging your shoulders. Without looking for more answers. After all, it really wasn’t any of your business. And if she had fought her best friend for lying, you wouldn’t be the one to whom she ended up confessing. “But really, you doing alright?” You sounded concerned and they couldn’t help but feel some sympathy for you.
“Julie.” Reggie called her. “Could we… Maybe we can tell her?” He turned around to face his friends, with something that sounded similar to a plea in his voice.
“Dude, she’s so far out of your league.” Luke jokingly told him. “But if it makes you happy I say we tell her. What’s the worst thing that could happen?”
“Besides everything, you mean?” Alex asked rhetorically. “But I have the feeling that whatever I say you're not going to listen to me, so…”
Julie was listening to them talk, wondering what was the best decision to make.
As Reggie watched your puzzled face, he thought about the possible questions that might had been going through your mind. What was going on? Why the sudden silence?
“Well, Y/N. I think it’s better that I tell you the truth, seeing the insistence of some.” Finally, Julie decided to speak. You seemed more and more confused, even a little offended by that last comment, but decided to let her finish talking. “Come to my house tomorrow afternoon. I’ll show you what all of this is about.”
Reggie could read the curiosity on your face. After so many days watching you, it wasn’t difficult for him to distinguish your emotions. Although, honestly, he was also curious and really excited to know what Julie had planned.
The next day passed quickly for the phantoms, but not for you.
It was the weekend, so Reggie hadn’t been able to see you yet. He had spent the whole morning rehearsing and doing some breathing exercises. His new friend Google had told him it was a good way to keep calm.
You, on the other hand, were so eager to know the answers to your questions that as soon as the time agreed with Julie arrived you were already knocking on her door. More punctual than ever.
It took her two minutes to open the door for you. Not that Reggie was counting… Well, alright, he was counting. But he was impatient.
Since Julie had told them her idea he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about it, about you. He had even dressed up for the occasion, wearing a white t-shirt with the In Utero logo on it. One of his favorites that had been left in Julie’s garage.
He had combined it with his black leather jacket and ripped black pants. Black shoes and his red flannel shirt tied at the waist. His pendant clinking every time he moved, in a rather attractive way.
Julie (and Reggie, even though you couldn't see him) went to greet you at the door, smiling as soon as she saw you. She was a bit nervous, but determined.
“Let's go to the garage, what I want to show you is there.” She told you, impatient to get there. But Reggie couldn't blame her, he was feeling the same or even worse. “But first, do you want something to drink?” The ghost snorted, which earned him a bad look from Julie. He knew it was polite to offer something to your guests, but this wait was going to be the death of him once more.
“Not really, thanks, I'm fine. Nervous, but fine.” You let out a nervous chuckle, which made Reggie look at you enrapturedly. Julie just smiled with amusement, without saying a word to either of you about it.
Then she made you follow her to the garage. You looked around with curiosity, trying to figure out what she would like to show you. There were two pianos and a sofa there. Interesting objects, but still not enough to find out what was going through Julie’s head.
“I know this might sound a little bit crazy, Y/N.” She started. With that she managed to peak your interest, you were all about crazy.  “But… you remember those guys that were playing with me yesterday?”
“The cute hologram musicians? Sure.” You nodded your head, while laughing. It was hard to forget them, especially a certain bass player.
"Yes, I suppose I am talking about them." Julie tried to suppress a laugh with your answer, as she watched Reggie's face flush completely, before continuing to speak. "Let's just say they're not exactly holograms. And that… they might be listening to you right now."
Your eyes widened, as you felt a little embarrassed. But immediately curiosity took hold of you and you went back to searching the entire garage, looking for a mobile phone or any reasonable device. Finding nothing, you frowned, confused.
“What do you mean by that, Julie? I can’t find anything and I have been looking since we entered your garage.” Now you were focusing on her. You felt like she was going to tell you everything, whatever that was, and you wanted to be ready.
“They are… ghosts.” She said slowly, trying not to scare you. “They are here, but you can only see them when we play together.”
It sounded like another one of her lies, like the one she had tried to tell you the day before in that classroom. But this one sounded so crazy, you thought it might be fun to go along with it. After all, if she had invited you to go there, it must have been to tell you something important, not to lie to you again. That ghost part could wait, you just wanted some answers.
“So they are musician ghosts?” You asked, still playing along. Julie could tell from your tone that you didn't quite believe it. But it was a matter of time, she thought.
“Well, they say they prefer to be called musician spirits. But technically, yes.” Then she turned to what seemed to be the void and talked. “All right, guys. You ready?”
You stayed silent, staring at her like she had grown a second head.
“Actually, can you sit there? Reggie needs some space to rock out and he feels kinda weird walking through you.” You nodded as you went to sit on the sofa that you had previously spotted, still not saying a word. You were starting to get worried, seeing as she had even named the ghosts. “You must have already noticed that there’s no plug or equipment that will produce a hologram. But you can double check, if you want.”
You shook your head. You didn't need to check anything, there definitely wasn't. But you still weren't sure what Julie’s plan was. So you kept quiet, just focusing on what she was telling you.
“We're going to play Bright one more time. It will be just like in high school, but this time you'll know the truth as well.” Julie was explaining everything to you with a smile, but Reggie thought it wasn't going to be like in high school at all. There they were alone, singing exclusively to you. As he ran his hand through his hair, in a gesture of sheer nervousness, he prayed that everything would go well. “Hope you like it.”
While Julie started to sing and play the piano, Reggie felt as Luke squeezed his shoulder reassuringly. He turned to see Alex, who offered him a small smile. This time he took notice of how his friends supported him and that made him gain a little self-confidence. He was ready.
Y/N had to suppress a scream as the ghosts appeared in front of her with their instruments. Any doubts that she might have had thus far had disappeared with the appearance of the three boys. There was no way to fake that. There was no logical explanation, but there was also no evidence that denied what she was seeing.
It all seemed crazy, just as Julie had told her at the beginning, but she had always wondered what happened after death. Finally accepting that she was surrounded by three ghosts, it was her chance to ask them all the questions she could think of.
Besides, if ghosts were real she could always have had a worse encounter.
But young, talented and handsome musician spirits? It definitely could have been worse.
Once she was no longer frightened, almost halfway through the song, she was able to allow herself to enjoy the melodic voice of the ghost that had caught her attention and admire the delicate way in which he played his bass.
At that moment she decided that ghost or not, she would like to listen to their entire setlist if she continued to see and listen to his voice that way. Besides, she had always loved that style of music.
Reggie approached her, cautiously not to scare her and Y/N greeted him with what she hoped would look like a captivating smile. It seemed to work, as he immediately blushed.
“Hi, I’m Reggie.” He introduced himself with a goofy smile, while failing to look cool. Not that he needed to do so. She already found him adorable and that was way better than looking cool.
“Y/N. Nice to meet you, Reggie.” Reggie loved the way she pronounced his name. An angelic sound to his ears. “Love the shirt, by the way. In Utero, one of their best albums.”
Reggie had to remember not to stop playing and to grip the bass tightly, because he almost dropped it in surprise. Y/N liked Nirvana. Would she loudly snore at night? Would she eat strange food combinations? He wondered. There was no way such a perfect girl could exist.
After that exchange of words the rest of the band introduced themselves. Reggie and her talked until it got dark, while the band kept playing different songs so that she wouldn’t stop seeing him.
It was hard having to say goodbye. In a single afternoon they had both connected with each other as they had never managed to do with anyone else.
Reggie was afraid he would never see her again. Or rather, that she would never see him again. It was on her to decide whether she wanted to or not, and that was what Reggie feared the most.
He had had such an awesome afternoon with her that he hadn't even considered never seeing each other again. But when it was time to say goodbye, all the doubts and insecurities suddenly overwhelmed him. Had she had an afternoon as pleasant as he had? Would she like to see him again?
"See you tomorrow? I'll get my bass. You still have to teach me how to play Livin' On A Prayer, I love that song."
All his doubts were dispelled when she gave him that warm smile, with which only she managed to warm him up inside.
And with that Reggie knew that he would continue to accompany her to class, although this time she would know. And he would send her notes, as he had recently learned to do.
They would also keep organizing small concerts for as long as she wanted, just so they could see each other.
It might not be perfect, nor ideal, but it would be one day. Meanwhile they would figure ways to make it work.
At the moment Reggie was happier than ever. He never imagined that he would end up getting to know the girl of his dreams. Much less that she would also end up being interested in getting to know him.
As he grinned to himself, while walking her home, he couldn’t help himself but wonder: how did we end up here?

Can you do HCs of Shinsou, Amajiki, Bakugo; teen!Aizawa with a South African s/o who has people saying some annoying comments to her just bc she's from Africa. Like someone says that they're sorry that she struggled with poverty (girl is from a super wealthy family that can buy their family), or say some gibberish with clicks and asks her to translate (s/o can speak five languages: English, Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans, and Japanese; understand others. Xhosa has clicks). They ask her if she had...
cont’d request: Pt.II - to hunt for her food (Umm, no. Cape Town has supermarkets and she knows what pizza and Japanese food is, guys). Someone just can't believe that South Africa has TV and internet, while s/o literally has a cell phone with all of the social media and has friends/family from South Africa. When class is over, someone asks why isn't she wearing "African" clothes (bc Africa is country, not a continent) when s/o is just wearing basic clothes. People be stupid.
“Don’t Be Stupid” - Headcannon for Shinsou, Tamaki, Bakugou, and teen!Aizawa
Hey! Thanks for requesting! Hope this is okay :)
Pairings: Shinsou, Tamaki, Bakugou, teen!Aizawa x reader Pronouns: she/her Warnings: ignorance, cursing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hitoshi didn’t really give a flying fuck about what others thought, mainly because most of the time people didn’t even want to be around him because of his “villain quirk”
But just because he didn’t care what they thought about him, doesn’t mean he wouldn’t fuck somebody up if they messed with you
Shinsou is a quiet guy for the most part, but he was super perceptive
So when he heard that the little ballsack haired toddler from class 1-A was spreading rumors about you, he was angry
You had no problem explaining to people about your home country of South Africa, especially if they asked nicely
But one day when you were walking past Class 1-A when school had just ended, intent on meeting your boyfriend outside to go walk to the park together, you heard Mineta spewing shit about you and South Africa
“Yeah they’re a bunch of savages over there! They literally hunt for food with spears and everyone is poor and they use goats as money.” Mineta said
You stood by the door to see what they were going to say before you chimed in and told them what South Africa was actually like.
“Mineta that’s literally cap and you know it.” Kaminari chimed in with a roll of his eyes.
He had been spending so much time around you and Shinsou that he started even using your slang unconsciously.
It made you smile a bit.
“Kaminari you’re dumb as rocks. How would you know?” Mineta defended himself.
“Anyways, apparently because they’re so poor they steal a lot too. Maybe that’s why my jacket went missing after I was around (y/n)...Like I said they’re a bunch of savages, she probably doesn’t know any better.”
Now it was time for you to chime in.
“Why the fuck would I want your ratty ass jacket anyway? I don’t steal and that’s not what South Africa is like. Denki knows because I told him about it. I’m not poor, I just don’t flaunt my wealth, and if you really want to know I could buy your entire family with my own net worth.” You remarked, crossing your arms over your chest with a huff.
Bakugou sat in the corner watching the whole exchange with a small smirk on his face...he enjoyed confrontation too much.
“Oh and we do have supermarkets where we buy our food from.” You add as an after thought. “If you wanted to know about South Africa, you should’ve just asked like a normal person instead of spewing shit. Have a nice day.” You left the classroom after that a smile growing on your face as you heard Kaminari and Kirishima scold Mineta for talking shit behind your back.
Yeah...that was the last time he did that because after Shinsou heard what happened he found Mineta the next day and threatened him so bad he peed his diaper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tamaki was a pretty reserved guy and when you two began dating it surprised mostly everyone because you two were so different
Honestly, Tamaki literally looked at you like a goddess and it annoyed him when people were just plain ignorant
Usually when he was annoyed he would rant to you about it or Mirio or Nejire, and then he would go sit in a corner blushing about how he feared he was oversharing
PLS HE’S SO CUTE
um...N E WAYS...
You had been a transfer into the class when they were second years after your father decided to expand his international company to Japan, meaning you had to leave your home in South Africa
You were upset at first but you quickly made friends with the Big Three and Leonardo Subarashi, who was also from South Africa.
So it came as a surprise when one of your friends, Tsuki Vinsmoke started talking shit about your homeland even when two of her friends were from there
“They literally live in huts with dirt floors. Maybe that’s why they’re so dirty and poor.” Tsuki laughed with two of her bitch friends, standing right near you
You turned to look at her with a frown on your face, practically daring her to say something else.
“I don’t even know how those two got here. They don’t even have phone service over there.”
“Hey (y/n)?” She said a little louder, as you turned around again, placing your pencil down and momentarily ignoring your school work.
“What Tsuki?”
“Why don’t you wear African clothes? Like those weird scarves and cloths or whatever? Are you ashamed that you came from dirt poor people? I would be.” Tsuki wore a nasty smile on her face as her eyes seemed to sparkle with malice.
“There’s no such thing as African clothes Tsuki. People wear the same clothes here that they do in South Africa...why would I be ashamed of such a culturally rich homeland? I’m proud to be South African, and besides I’d suggest you do some research before you start talking to me about being poor, especially since I’m way richer than you.” You gave a fake sincere smile before glancing over at Tamaki and your friends who gave you a thumbs up as if to say Destroy her.
So you did...in the end you got sent to Principal Nezu’s office after you made her cry and she lied to your teacher saying you had threatened her life like a dirty savage
Tamaki had to hold you back with some help from Mirio before you decked her
Nezu didn’t really care and gave you a donut from the order that had been in his office before sending you back to class
Needless to say, Tsuki got suspended for being racist and perpetuating a hateful environment in the classroom and nobody else messed with you, not even her little friends who sucked up to you after Tsuki went on suspension.

Why would anyone even bother saying stupid shit about you when you were just as hot headed as your explosive boyfriend? I don’t know, but they did
Of course everyone from class 1-A was smart enough not to start anything, but it seems Monoma wasn’t as smart
The annoying overly entitled blonde from class 1-B, had started out by asking you simple questions about your homeland, things like:
“What’s it like there?”, “Is it always sunny?”, “Have you seen a rhino or lion before?”
Then they started getting kind of ignorant and annoying.
“Hey (y/n)? Can you speak African?”
“No Monoma because Africa is a continent made up of many countries, each with their own languages.” You explained, wasn’t he supposed to be smart? “What are you doing Monoma?” You asked, with a raised eyebrow as he started to make strange noises at you.
“Shit for Brains, leave us the fuck alone.” Bakugou grumbled from beside you after he finished chewing his food.
“It’s you language right? Can you understand what I said?”
“No dumbfuck. You sounded like a dolphin.” You remarked as a few of your friends laughed lightly.
“I’m surprised you understand...I heard your people aren’t very smart...you know products of their environment, it’s unfortunate really. I’m sorry that you lived in such poverty, but you should consider yourself lucky, now you get to live in dorms and sleep in a real bed and not on a dirt floor.” Monoma went on and on and you were growing increasingly annoyed as you friends sat there in shocked silence.
“You know what Monoma?” You said with a fake smile as you spun around. “I’ve never met anyone as ignorant and stupid as you. I’m not poor and I never was, I slept in a real bed with an actually comfortable mattress unlike the ones here, and I much smarter than you ever will be I speak five fucking languages and I can understand more than that in others. Would you like me to tell you to fuck off in another language since you can’t seem to understand Japanese?” You asked as you raised your eyebrows with your arms crossed over your chest, as if waiting for his answer.
He stayed silent.
“That’s what I thought. Maybe you are smart after all?” You added teasingly, watching him be dragged back to his table by Kendo.

Shota Aizawa never really had many friends, usually more laidback than others were comfortable with, but the ones he did have were the complete opposites of him
Hizashi and Shirakumo were loud pranksters, while you and Midnight were talkative and enjoyed messing with him.
Most of the time he ignored the pigheaded bully that was Sensoji, because he usually only picked on Shota, but when Sensoji realized that you were Aizawa’s real weakness, he started to hound you.
And Shota was NOT having that
It all came to a head after he battled against Shota during a training session.
“Your useless just like your quirk Aizawa.” Sensoji sneered at your boyfriend, glaring down at him.
“Your nothing but a waste of space.” Sensoji added seeing the way that his insults didn’t really phase Shota.
“Hey leave him alone! What is wrong with you!” You intervened pushing the broad shouldered boy away from Shota.
“What are you that weak that you need your little safari ass backwoods girlfriend to save your ass?” Sensoji laughed along with one of his equally stupid Class 1-B classmates.
“Don’t fucking talk about her!” Shota yelled back, his eyes glowing as if it was a warning.
“Or what? It’s not like she’ll understand? People like her back in her country of Africa are stupid as fuck. They build their homes out of oversized tin cans and they don’t even have phones.”
“Sensoji you’re the stupid one! Africa is... A CONTINENT NOT A COUNTRY!” Hizashi jumped in, activating his quirk halfway through his sentence.
“And they don’t live in tin cans.” Midnight added.
“I live in a nice home, one that’s probably bigger than yours. Just admit that you’re jealous of Shota and me and move on!” You pressed your finger into his chest on each word, glaring at him as if to say say something else and see what happens.
“Grow up!” Shota and Shirakumo added before Sensoji rushed away when he saw the teachers coming over to see what you all were arguing about.
“Yeah that’s what I thought! Run away like a little bitch!” You added with a growing smile.
“Language (y/n)!” Your teacher scolded, but even that couldn’t bring down your smile as you, your boyfriend, and your friends laughed about the incident.
You all still even joked about it years later.

Hello! I hope you’re having a great day! May I request a scenario of Malleus grieving over his s/o’s departure from Twisted Wonderland, then fast forward years later they accidentally stumble back into the Valley of Thorns? Please and thanks!
Angst with a happy ending...yes...something that I always crave in my entire life...this is gonna be g/n reader by the way because..why not? ╮(╯▽╰)╭ also please forgive me Crowley stans for demonizing him for most of my fanfics- I'm sure he's sweet at some point but uhm, not really for most of the time, lol.
Note: Myn lynkyng means "the one I delight in, the one who gives me pleasure" but it's nothing sexual in this context.
Triggers: None
I can't handle being here without you | Malleus x g/n reader
Tumblr media
I finally found a way back for you to go home, isn't that wonderful?" You wish you could feel the joy as Crowley is feeling now but that's not just possible. Why would you want to go to a place where you barely even have any memories of than stay at a place filled with your best friends and a place where you met your forever lover, Malleus? It's been only a year that you guys are together, sure but your love for eachother is like if you were married for 80 years already. Throwing all that away like it was nothing but just a dream feels like something a villain would do, like betraying Malleus after all this time you've been together. But what can you do? You didn't really think it through and underestimated Crowley far too long for you to even remember that he actually does research your way home but he just takes a painfully long time and you doubt that he'll easily accept the fact that you now don't want to go home.
"ah...is that so?" You couldn't sound less enthusiastic, you were so disappointed that even the principal realized. "What's wrong? You don't sound excited." His expression changes to a more serious look as he peered at you with concern. "it's just that..I don't really know. I don't even remember how my life is back then except where I live. Here however..I know everyone here and I have people to assist me." You sighed in frustration, does your parents even remember you? How many years could have passed by? "I'm pretty sure they're missing posters and news of you everywhere! No matter how long it has passed. If someone found you, they'll definitely lend you to the professionals and they could guide you back to your home place!" his utterance went back to a cheerful matter. Jeez. He really doesn't want to deal with you anymore, does he? Oh well, that just sums it up that your protests won't do anything. You sighed in irritation and gave in, which made him smile even more. "But what about Grim? How should I tell Ace, Deuce and the others about this?"
"No worries, prefect! I shall take care of him. Ace and Deuce? Ah, your friends. Unfortunately, the only way for you to go without making them hurt is to just keep it a secret or else, they will try to stop you." It felt cruel to leave them behind without a single goodbye but he was right. Knowing them, they will be in tears trying to stop you from getting near that mirror and you can't bear that side. You guiltily nodded, before looking down in sadness. What about Malleus? you thought. How is he going to handle this news? You know that you wouldn't live with him for the rest of his life but you're going to separate faster than that and this made you torn to just run up to him and hug him to either say your goodbyes or secretly stay with him forever. Though, you feel like the latter is impossible so you'll woefully take your current path.
After your unforseen departure, news will start to spread. From Grim he will tell the news to your closest friends and they will spread it to other peers you have interacted to and later that will definitely spread to other than Malleus. "I'm hesitant to say that, (Y/N) when back to their world and I'm unsure if they will ever come back." When Lilia let those words roll out of his tongue, the fae was dead silent. The only thing that he spoke was a small 'oh' and nothing else but it was incredibly obvious he was devastated. Malleus got up from his chair and told the others he's going to his room which Lilia nodded, knowing exactly as to why. He really wanted to respect your choices but..he just couldn't. After everything, why did you go? Without even a single trace either other than the Ramshackle dorm to visit but that's not enough. Maybe adopting Grim could suffice but not now. He laid on his bed and sighed in sorrow. You're the only human- no, person who he has trusted and fully poured his feelings onto. Yes, he has Lilia and his two trusted bodyguards but it just doesn't feel the same. Your love is something that he knows that he won't physically receive forever as your time in the world is very limited but he knows that your love will be something that he could receive secretly while you're looking at him from above but knowing that you're still alive and you might never see each other ever again makes him anxious at the fact that you might find someone else.
Every single second you spend your time with him feels like heaven and is something he treasures deeply. From the first time you met to now, he remembered everything vividly. When you disappear out of the blue, his heart shattered to pieces like glass. Not only that, your friends have been in a dark, gloomy place and Sebek having mixed feelings about you. Even if your actions are selfish and wounded the young master, you're still the person who made him find his identity rather than just a servant. But Malleus cannot stay grieving forever, he is a prince who will soon be responsible at taking care of the Valley of Thorns and you're gonna go someday anyways, so it's not like he's going to be isolating himself all over again, right?
.
.
.
No, absolutely not. It's been a year since you're gone and he still just couldn't get you out of his mind. The only person that he gave all of his fondness and tenderness is gone and he can no longer feel that warmth of yours that you possess. No one, not even Lilia can rise up his mood every time he fortuitously passes by the Ramshackle dorm or stares at your closest friends just going about their day. He gets envious looking at other couples passing by every time there's an event where visitors are allowed. He wished he could learn about phones so maybe he could have kept in touch with you digitally? But it doesn't seem like you're communicating with your friends due to some problems occurring, Sebek saying your number is not available or something like that. He doesn't know what that means fully but just knowing that there's no way he can communicate with you at all breaks him even more. All of his cloud of thought is filled with you and the memories you two have created together. From just the regular chats to the first time you two shared that magical kiss. He really doesn't want to sound selfish but he prays that you don't forget about him as he will never forget about you. Even more so moving on and finding someone new.
Even if you're trying to forget about everything, it's impossible. You still have thoughts and dreams about your dreams and the memories you have created there. Mostly, was about Malleus. No matter if the dream is good or bad, you'll always wake up with tears streaming down your face. It has been a year but dreams about your Tsunotaro makes it feel like it's just yesterday. Sure, you found your parents/guardians and have had an ordinary but still a good life but..it just feels empty. Like there's a void in your heart that nothing can fill the gaps other than the horned boy. Everyone that tries to hit on you no matter how attractive, never intrigues you. The only thing that pops up in your mind 24/7 is Malleus. Malleus this, Malleus that. It feels empty but no matter what, you just couldn't stop thinking about him. What's he doing now? What's he thinking after your leave? Has he moved on and has a new lover? Hopefully not. You couldn't witness that but you're never gonna meet again so what's the point of hoping. Oh well, let's just wish that a sudden miracle will come out of nowhere and maybe you could meet again? But that's just impossible. Or is it?
.
.
.
It's been 4 years since you left. You weren't as torn as you were before but you still have dreams of Malleus and get quite sad about them yet happy as this is the only way to remember them. It was a casual day, you went to the store to get something to eat, accidentally stumbling across some of your new or old friends by accident as you were on your way home. You did the usual, make some food to eat, wash the dishes, yadda yadda. It was getting rather late, one in the morning to be exact. You closed your phone and went to your room but when you close the door, something started to glow up. The mirror in your room was glowing. Seemed familiar, no? You approached it, thinking that maybe it could be a way back to Twisted Wonderland perhaps? You doubt it but it's still a possibility. If it wasn't and just a different world then whatever, you could probably embark a new journey but you're hoping it's Twisted Wonderland. You took the risk and hop in the mirror, relieved that you weren't just hallucinating and didn't bump into your mirror like an idiot.
You fell face plant onto the floor, the fall was gentle and wasn't high up so it didn't hurt or anything. You got up, looking around, the place didn't seem familiar but the atmosphere of the place is very familiar. Nevertheless, the place is very intimidating and it didn't help that the mirror disappears into this air, meaning that it will take you a long time to get out of here like what happened in Twisted Wonderland or just no escape in general. There were spiky thorns everywhere, the whole area as you walked around feels like some sort of dungeon in an rpg game and you felt like an outcast by the way you dress. You felt like you're screwed, walk anymore further than where you fell and you could die any second. Everyone is eyeing you either because of how you dress or how you look like you're going to burst out crying like a baby koala any moment from now, probably both. You thought all hope is lost and you're gonna have to dig your own grave until..
Malleus Draconia is there. Right in front of you, his back facing you with some bodyguards which you just assume are other former Diasomnia students each at his side. You were hesitant and looked down to your feet, you really want to run into his arms and tell him how sorry you were for leaving without saying anything but will he forgive you for putting into the torment you possibly put him to? Did he met anyone new? Does he hate you for doing this to his heart? Will his bodyguards approve your appearance. Does he even want to see you anymore? These negative kept lingering your mind when you try to take a step closer. You felt like tears started to ran down your cheeks.
"Child of man?"
You looked up from the floor to see the three of them looking at you, Malleus with shock written on his face. "Tsunotaro.." You faintly mutter out your nickname for him. You were too timid to even move and thankfully he approached you. "We will be retreating back to the palace, I want to have a word with this human." The escorts nodded and you followed them back to where you assumed to be Malleus' home. You knew that Malleus is a prince but you didn't expect the castle he lives in to be that big. You presume this is his homeland, Valley of Thorns and my god can this place be even more medieval. You followed him to where you believe, is his bedroom. As soon as he locked the door, silence was deafening the room. It was never awkward when with Malleus until now. You decided to break the silence with an apology.
"Tsunotaro, I'm really sorry for leaving you! The headmaster found a way for me to go back home and I didn't have an alternative! He told me to not tell anyone and..and-" your sobs kept cutting your words and you tried all your best to wipe your tears away. He caught you off guard by wrapping his arms around your figure, rubbing his hand behind your back. "myn lynkyng, all of those sorrow that you made me went through aches my heart but all that is swept away when we finally able to reunite and see your beautiful face once again." he stroked your hair with pale long fingers and gave you one of his lovable sweet smile. "After all this time, I still love you with all my heart. No matter how many years have passed by, your face and everything we have done together still linger in my mind. Now that you're here, you don't mind that if you.. stay here for a little longer?" his smile turned into a rather cheesy grin. "Oh, Tsunotaro. I'll stay here forever if you want." You leaned and kissed his beautiful lips, which he did back immediately. He gently set you to his bed, lovingly caressing your cheek. "That's wonderful to hear."

I've been actively blogging for more than six months, even though I've had a tumblr account for ten years. I started reading One Direction (specifically Larry) fanfiction about the same time.
Originally, I read exclusively canon compliant fiction--I was hungry for industry insider, what-could-have-happened narratives. But I've slowly branched out into other genres. I find fanfic--good fanfic--super calming. When I've had too much stunting, too much noise, I grab a fanfic and immerse myself. So I thought it was time to do a post about my favorites. Keep in mind, I'm terrible at cataloging, and I have over 150 bookmarks on my A03 Account, so this is by no means an exhaustive list.
I'm not including the classics like Tired, Tired Sea and Escapade. While I do love both of those (so well written), because a lot of people know about those already.
My all time favorites are by @helloamhere
1. The Multipicity of Powers - https://archiveofourown.org/works/28580229
Maybe in another universe he isn’t different. Maybe he hadn’t been given an impossible choice. Maybe he wouldn’t have lost everything and broken everything and then fallen impossibly, irrevocably in love with the first next thing that was kind. Maybe in that universe he doesn’t feel like he’s never breathing, always pretending, teaching the kids even though they all have to learn alone, trying hard not to read the headlines, and so afraid, every day, that he won’t be a good enough teammate to the superhero he can’t live without. He knows that love isn’t supposed to feel this way, slid secret under your skin like a surgical razor, an invisible war held close over the tender vein that keeps you alive. On the other hand, Louis wonders, had he ever known how to do it any other way?
Maybe there’s a universe where he doesn’t have to keep all his secrets on the inside.
But this isn’t that universe.
//an X-Men AU.
Me: I never thought I'd love a super hero 1D cross over, but this is so well done. The backstory, the pacing, the characterization, the friendship. Read it.
2. Saving Symphony Hall and it's prequel Night Out - https://archiveofourown.org/works/12633921
“I think I have an idea,” Louis said. Slowly, and reluctantly, but with a growing sense of the inevitable. “God damnit, I think I have a really good idea.”
“Oh christ, that's the problem-solving face,” Babs said. “Last time we saw that face, he sold a company.”
“Wait, what?” Zayn asked.
“Right place, right time,” Louis said. “Also, fuck my life,”
“What?” Zayn repeated. Niall patted his hand.
“I usually just roll with whatever Louis is about to do,” he said. “It’s better for us all.”
“That’s the attitude,” said Louis, “I’ll tell you tomorrow. Tonight, I need to do some research. Zayn, give me your number. I’m gonna save our symphony.”
Me: The best sex scene I've ever read is in the prequel Night Out. Sexy, but tender. I love the characterizations in this duo--ABO but not traditional. Doesn't feel out of character.
3. Just Let Me -https://archiveofourown.org/works/11695350
The party was going well. So well, Niall had already sworn undying love to one multi-tiered chocolate cake, two friendly corgi-poodle mixes, Zayn’s hair, and the entire population of Los Angeles. So well, Zayn had only laughed and ruffled Niall’s hair and not even twitched towards a cigarette. So well, nearly everyone had spilled far past the boundaries of the night’s original plans, extracting bottles of vodka from the cabinets and losing a lot of clothes. Harry had proclaimed that he was finally going to throw a small and very grownup dinner party and of course here they were three hours later, fifty people half-naked in the pool. Soon to be full-naked, if Louis had to guess. Everybody in LA loved a heated pool. Everybody loved Harry.
Me: I love love love this. Harry is so gentle, and Louis is so stubborn and needy. It's ABO but subtle. I'll read this one again and again. It's comforting.
@HelloAmHere is one of the best writers I know--amazing stuff. I also love their werewolf story, but it's not finished, so I won't link it here.
Other favorites:
1. Seven Up by cherrystreet - https://archiveofourown.org/works/5828539
Very loosely based on the British TV show "The Up Series" and somewhat inspired by the song “Something I Need” by Onerepublic, we follow the lives of Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson in an interview setting every seven years. They fall apart and come together, their lives and emotions recorded. Harry calls it a time capsule. Louis calls it a pain in the arse.
Me: Trigger Warning, major character death. I literally SOBBED through the end of this. It was lovely and devastating. So good. But be warned.
2. Light, Spark and Fire series by @greenfeelings
Life’s pretty ordinary for Harry. He lives with his best friend, got into university just like he’s planned, and manages to support himself just fine for an unbonded omega. If he sustains that lifestyle by getting paid to help alphas through their rut every now and then, that’s nothing to be hung up on. Until he’s hired by an alpha that turns everything upside down.
Or, Louis and Zayn run a music label, Liam is Britain’s up-and-coming pop star, Harry’s working on taking Louis’ walls down until he builds his own up, and Niall holds them all together without realising he does.
Me: A nice healthy three-parter. Characters you just want to live with for a while.
3. Relief Next to Me by dolce_piccante - https://archiveofourown.org/works/1117942
AU. What happens when a baker and a graphic designer meet via a very specific Craigslist post? Fate, friendship, food, and maybe more.
Me: This one is super long, so be prepared when you dive in. It's got a lot of lovely bits, and some great smut.
4. 2012 'Verse by ashavahishta - https://archiveofourown.org/series/27601
Me: This is a five-parter and satisfies my love of canon compliant stories. It spans most of 2012 and into 2013, and illustrates the difficulties of Harry and Louis' relationship amid the band success and management disapproval.
5. Love After the End of the World by mercurial-madhouse (writing_practice) - https://archiveofourown.org/works/31251434/chapters/77248901
Society shattered when all electricity suddenly cut off across the globe, plunging the world into darkness. Now, Prometheus Industries is the sole remaining supply of power, a saving grace to those who survived Lights Out. As fugitives in no-man’s land struggling to break into Prometheus HQ, death lurks around every corner for Louis and Zayn. Things get complicated when a routine recon falls apart and Louis collides with Harry and his mates Niall and Liam, survivors with their own agenda.
When staying alive is already a constant battle, the deadliest weakness is to be in love. For Harry and Louis, finding each other sits on top of the endless list of What Else Could Go Wrong.
Me: Really unusual (as far as I can tell) end of the world story. I loved the characterizations of soul mates here at the end of the world.
6. Flightless Bird by audreyhheart - https://archiveofourown.org/works/6401653/chapters/14656807
AU where Louis Tomlinson is a principal dancer with The Royal Ballet. When his rival from ballet school, moody dance prodigy Harry Styles joins the company, old wounds are reopened and old passions reignited. During the company's production of Swan Lake the secret that doomed their love is finally revealed, but will it be too late?
Me: Trigger Warning, sexual assault (by an original character to a major character). This was a little brutal because I hated to see a broken Harry, but it was well written and has a happy ending.
7. Wear It Like A Crown by zarah5 - https://archiveofourown.org/works/1816771/chapters/3900322
AU. As part of a team of fixers hired to handle a gay scandal in Buckingham Palace, Louis expects Prince Harry to be a lot of things—most notably a royally spoilt brat. Never mind that the very same Prince Harry used to star in quite a number of Louis' teenage fantasies.
Me: I loved Louis in this one--actually they are both pretty great. Scratch that, they are ALL pretty great.
8. Shake Me Down by AGreatPerhaps12 - https://archiveofourown.org/works/3331958/chapters/7285322
Harry's new to college, fresh out of Catholic school and conversion therapy camp, and Louis runs the campus LGBTQIA organization.
Me: I don't like the self-hate here, but it was necessary for the story and H comes around. Found family vibe.
9. Gods & Monsters by Velvetoscar - https://archiveofourown.org/works/2090982/chapters/4550871
The instructions were simple: seduce and destroy Harry Styles. Not once did they discuss the option of Louis actually falling in love. So, naturally, that's exactly what he did.
Me: I loved Harry in this one. Louis gets there. I don't like Liam, but I don't think you're supposed to. Zayn is great.
10. Own the Scars by crinkle-eyed-boo (KimmieRocks) - https://archiveofourown.org/series/1010796
Louis has never felt like he was good enough: for his stepdad, for his life-long best friend, for the life he's supposed to want. After an accident that nearly costs him his life, Louis' parents send him to rehab where he’s forced to face his demons. On the long and difficult road to recovery, Louis must confront the truths he’s been avoiding about his future, his relationships, and his sense of self-worth. Because before he can love anyone else, he’s got to learn how to love himself first.
Me: Harry is lovely in this one. Trigger warning, substance abuse and near death.
11. Wild Love by purpledaisy - https://archiveofourown.org/series/1030904
AU: Two best friends try to date each other for forty days. It's supposed to be fun until emotions make it complicated.
Me: I loved this way more than I thought I would. It's lovely and messy and I love it.
12. Victorian Boy by audreyhheart - https://archiveofourown.org/users/Rosann1986/readings?page=6
Victorian AU. Harry the virgin Duke of Somerset knows little of love, while Louis the sly Duke of Warwick knows too much. When the two dukes come together for the Bilsdale fox hunt in York, Harry finds himself drawn into Louis' bed. But when secrets from Louis' dark past come to light, Harry fears that the fox isn't the only one being hunted.
Me: Historical fiction I didn't intend to love. I LOVE Harry in this one. LOTS of smut, so be warned.
13. Keep Me Closer by zanni_scaramouche - https://archiveofourown.org/works/30752633
Louis expects Harry to react poorly, maybe even file a formal complaint and that’s gonna suck ass but Louis won’t say shit cause he knows he deserves it, so he prepares an apology before Harry’s even turned around.
What he doesn’t expect is Harry to fucking drop.
Me: lovely, protective Louis just trying to do the right thing.
14. Turning Page by purpledaisy for SockstheDog
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11826345
AU: Harry Styles tries to get lost in a place he’s never been.  Louis Tomlinson has been perfecting the art of being lost for years. What they don’t expect to find is each other.
Me: sweet love story. Niall owns a bar, and is pretty great.
15. Freedom Always Comes With a Price by Cyantific - https://archiveofourown.org/works/30278514/chapters/74624262
A shared dream brings them together onto the X-factor stage, but one decision changes Harry and Louis’ lives overnight. Thrust into a world of instant stardom, they're forced to live a lie to sustain their dreams, but years of living in the shadows and under strict management takes its toll.
With the bands impending hiatus, there’s no better time for change, so they think.
Desperate for a solution, they turn to an unlikely source with a radical plan. An unfortunate accident sets everything in motion, but not how they intended, leaving Louis’ memories altered, Harry broken-hearted and full of regret.
Can Harry figure out a way to fix everything? Will he even want to once he sees how Louis moved on after the hiatus? Will Louis ever find out the truth of their past and can he forgive Harry after all this time?
In the end, two friends find out that memories are elusive, trust is everything and love is the only antidote.
Me: Heartbreaking when they lose each other, but really good in the end.
16. Little Technicolor Things by scary_crow - https://archiveofourown.org/works/6025519/chapters/13821628
Louis is a poor writer and recent university graduate, depressed, anxious, and living in London when he meets Harry, an artist with a secret who likes to paint sunrises and pretty boys from California.
17. Hold You Now by solvetheminourdreams - https://archiveofourown.org/works/30253536/chapters/74556744
Three years ago, Harry Styles said goodbye to communications consultancy firm McQuiston Worldwide, leaving a life of travel and agency PR behind. When he accompanies his best friend to a family wedding across the Atlantic, he'll be forced to reopen old wounds and face his past—one that no one wants to hash out, but may just have to.
Me: Niall is great. They almost miss each other in this one, and you just want to bash them over the head. But they figure it out.
18. At Risk, I Fold by clare328 - https://archiveofourown.org/works/26542480
2015 is a stream of hotel rooms and whisky on the rocks, tired glances and touching hands under tables. It’s the bears and the bees under a rainbow sky, and Harry and Louis have to figure out how to grow up together, instead of apart.
Me: A canon compliant fic that feels like it could have really happened. Set in 2015. Lovely first chapter and scene where Harry writes If I Could Fly--i could read that chapter over and over.
19. Into The Blue by zarah5 - https://archiveofourown.org/works/1035822/chapters/2065499
AU. In which Louis is Harry's scuba instructor and quite happy to provide the requested special treatment, pun fully intended. It can't be all that difficult to convince Harry that they're on the same page, right? Also, Niall and Liam may or may not be dating, and Zayn is surrounded by emotionally stunted idiots. He bears it with dignity.
Me: AKA the Scuba fic.
20. Tie Your Heart by ArcadianMaggie - https://archiveofourown.org/works/546688/chapters/973236
Harry grows wings.
Me: How can you not love a fic where Harry grows wings? Trigger warning: injury of a major character.
21. I think I'll end this here. My last and probably first favorite (read it more than once) is...
my heart is breathing for this moment in time by usedtothebeach - https://archiveofourown.org/works/934996/chapters/1820282
When Louis first saw Harry at the 2010 X Factor Auditions, he thought he was watching a peculiarly special stranger. But Harry has known Louis ever since he was five years old.
Because Louis has a rare genetic disorder that causes him to Time Travel to important moments in his past and in his future - and to Harry, always to Harry. When they're put into a band together, it seems like everything Harry has been waiting and wishing for has finally come true. Except for the small fact that Louis doesn't know that Harry is in love with him- that Harry's always been in love with him. Fate, it would seem, is just getting started.
A story about growing up and growing together, and the impossible love that makes it all worthwhile.
Me: I LOVED the Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, and I'm a huge fan of time travel, so this is right up my alley. It's really well done, weaving canon into fantasy and then going years forward in tme. I love everything about it. Great character development. Really good smut. Trigger warning, there's a little underage sex, so be aware. Anyway, LOVE this one so much.
I'll add to this but it's already longer than I meant it to be.

Lila's mother decides to speak out against the incompetence of Paris's so-called "Superheroes" after Lila goes on another lament-fest. The focus isn't on her personally though, the focus is on the public backlash as the media goes nuts over an Italian diplomat insulting Paris's beloved heroes, and the Italian government frantically trying to do damage control. Then Lila being Gabriel's "muse" is discovered, and now Gabriel has to do damage control over his... lack of support for the heroes.
Ignorance is not bliss, it’s dangerous
Hmm...I believe I wrote something similar in Blind And Foolish. Here’s the link: https://mcheang.tumblr.com/post/189582138105/blind-and-foolish
This happens after Lila claims to have to missed school again because of akuma attacks. Actually she just has another model shoot with Adrien and is allowed to be excused for class because of work. But Mrs Rossi doesn’t know that because then she would want to meet Lila’s boyfriend even more.
The daily news was thriving over a recent scandal. Apparently the Italian diplomat, Mrs Donna Rossi, had decided to generously propose to her Parisian colleagues that Italy could send in military aid to help take care of the akumas and bring down Hawkmoth. After all, they clearly need help if their police force had decided to let two incompetent heroes playing dress up fight their battles.
As you can imagine, this was a grave insult. The Paris police force was perfectly competent, thank you very much. It wasn’t their fault their enemy had superpowers. And only Ladybug could purify the akumas and fix the magical damage. Of course the teens would be given the lead since this was their speciality. And how dare Rossi say their heroes were incompetent. Ladybug and Chat Noir solve their akuma problems in less than 6 hours a day, usually less than 2 hours if the reports were anything to go by.
Mrs Rossi was astonished by the backlash she received. She reminded the Parisians that swarms of akumas have been plaguing the city for months, to the point that schools have shut down.
Response: what swarms?! Scarlet Moth was only for one day! And since when have schools been closed? They have only ended early and nothing more! Classes resume the next day!
Mrs Rossi faltered, but continued on. “Except my daughter has been confined to our house because her school was closed. Her principal was akumatized for months, too!”
When they learn Lila’s school is Dupont, there were snorts all around. Everyone knew Dupont was infamous for akumas, and they knew it was never shut down because they have walked past it daily and seem students going about their business. And everyone knew Darkowl had debuted at night...after school hours. And he was defeated before dawn. His akumatization never even affected school attendance...
The meeting was dismissed shortly and Mrs Rossi was humiliated as the Parisians angrily stormed out. Honestly, was this who they wanted to work with? An ignoramus who dares to insult their security?
News managed to leak out. The class was horrified by what Lila’s mother had said. Lila was trying to do damage control when her mother confronted her, having checked with the principal. They had both agreed that Lila would be expelled for her actions. Well...at least Lila doesn’t have to placate her class anymore...and at least she’s still got her modelling career.
Except while the Italian ambassador is pleading and apologising, promising that Donna and her daughter would be sent back at once, it came out that Donna had said such things because her daughter was a compulsive liar, a fact she had recently just found out.
As such, people are angry at Lila for insulting their heroes!
Doing research on Lila, people recognize her as Volpina and Gabriel’s latest muse. As the public currently hate Lila, they also dislike anything associated with her. Didn’t Gabriel once say in Heroes Day that Lila wasn’t a real hero? Why was he hiring this hateful hero hater then? Gabriel was responsible for Bubbler and Simon Says... is he trying to sabotage the heroes? Only putting on a public front all the while?
Gabriel quickly fired Lila and did his own damage control. He claimed after the events of Bubbler, he had decided to be more open towards Adrien’s friends. He met Lila Rossi and she seemed like a nice girl. He gave her the opportunity to model as a chance for Adrien to have more friends while working. And as for Simon Says, who wants to be hypnotized on TV? It’s a basic invitation to make a fool of yourself in public.
Donna Rossi was fired and was ordered to return to Italy with her daughter immediately before they do anymore damage.
Lila was enraged her reputation and modelling gig were ruined, but at least she could start over in Italy anyway. There were no more opportunities for her in Paris anymore. Her one regret was that she never defeated Ladybug.
Lila was wrong about starting over. While Donna was scolded and fined for causing an international dispute for her careless and negligent handling of the situation, she did decide to deal with her daughter’s compulsive lying by sending her to a correction school. Down there, the Teachers made sure everyone knew what the students were infamous for. Once everyone knew Lila was a liar and that she was supposedly responsible for some huge scandal, they decided to check it out. After that, Lila was mocked by her classmates for not hanging out with her celebrity friends and immediately volunteering her for grunt work since she loves to help out.
Lila was furious, but this time, there was no akuma to help her vent.
As for the Italian government, they tried to make amends by donating large sums of money to the Parisian police force. (I’m not sure if this is correct procedure, but hey, this is fanfic!)

Raising Them Right
AO3
WBT
Ships: Diavolo/Lucifer (minor near the end)
Word Count: 3960
Warnings: Abandonement, Self Deprication
A/N:  Here it is! So this is the second fic that was inspired from the one angst anon that wanted to know more about Asmo’s past relationships. I really had a wonderful time writing it, and I hope you guys enjoy!
Lucifer could still remember that day. It was clear in his mind and bit at him like a viper, slowly killing a part of him that was now long lost to time. He knew that Levi and Mammon remembered as well. Maybe Satan. But Asmo and the twins? Not so much. Regardless, he knew it had toyed with his brothers in various ways. Forcing different insecurities and means to cope down their throats. Honestly Lucifer didn’t even get away unscathed.
Hurt and betrayal had bubbled up in his throat as he tore their room apart. Part of him was looking for an answer of sorts. A reason. But the bigger of him wanted destruction, wanted to erase them from their lives entirely. They chose to leave, so why should they have any memory of them?
Lilith’s room was left untouched. Lucifer boarded up the door the best he could. This made his heart ache the most. He couldn’t focus too hard on what he was doing. It wouldn’t lead to good things. He needed to keep a steady composure for his brothers. They needed someone to look up to. Someone they could rely on.
They had all packed up and left that night. The oldest three couldn’t bear to be in the house anymore. Satan hadn’t said anything, conflict swirling within his young mind. Asmo and the twins questioned their actions slightly.
“What if they come back looking for us?”
“Are we gonna go home soon Luci?”
“What if they miss us?”
It made the situation worse. It made Lucifer’s throat tighten and his eyes burn. How could he tell them that they weren’t even going back? That that place was no longer home? That they’d been abandoned? That was how Lucifer saw it, and he could feel that Mammon was just as bitter. His teeth were clenched, trying so hard not to snap at the little ones. They didn’t know any better, and Lucifer wished he could have protected them all from this reality.
He was helpless.
They’d travelled around for a while, until they found a small motel with a vacancy. The older three had done the math. If they worked enough, they could stay here.. He wasn’t sure who called about them, but he wasn’t surprised. Who wouldn’t have been worried about seven children of varying ages wandering around alone on their own? Honestly, it was the responsible thing to do. Even if Lucifer hated admitting to it.
Ever since that day, Lucifer fought tooth and nail for his family. He refused to let anyone take his brothers away from him, refused to let them be torn apart any more than they already were. He’d heard everything. He was too young to effectively take care of them, that the little ones would be better off in more stable households. These conversations only succeeded in making Lucifer angrier. Eventually they reached a compromise. All seven of them would move in with a family, until further notice.
Lucifer had agreed to this, but also took it as a challenge to get them their own place as soon as he could.
***********
Lucifer had gotten the call. He put himself down as the primary contact for all of his brothers, so he always knew what was going on with them.
Deep breaths. In. And out.
Getting angry at Mammon rarely got him anywhere. It was just frustrating. Mammon was smart  dammit! And he was a good kid deep down. Lucifer knew this, and it made it even worse every time he heard that Mammon had acted out once more. Lucifer had apologized to his professor multiple times about not being able to show up to class, and they understood, but it didn’t make the situation any better.
Lucifer got out of the car and started the routine he’d become so accustomed too. What could it be today? Acting out in class? Snatching something off of the teacher’s desk? Stealing from the cafeteria? Oh Lucifer could only imagine.
Greeting the ladies at the front desk, Lucifer was quickly ushered back to the principal's office. Mammon was hunched over in one of the chair’s, his hoodie obscuring his face.
Suspended.
For getting into a fight with another student.
It wasn’t  a long suspension, but Lucifer still didn’t exactly know how to feel about it. There was a tense silence in the car.It got to the point where Lucifer pulled off into a parking lot and shut his car off. Mammon sank down further in the car seat.
“Would you like to explain yourself?” Lucifer hoped his voice came out even, despite the twitching he felt in his lip.
“It wasn’t that bad.”
“It wasn’t- Mammon you got suspended.”
More silence.
“Let me see.”
“Luc-”
“Let. Me. See.”
Mammon hesitated for a moment before pulling his hoodie down and looking over at Lucifer. He had a black eye. Lucifer put his head in his hands and Mammon quickly went on to try to explain himself.
“It wasn’t my fault! These guys came along n’ they were makin fun of Levi and were tryin to take his-”
“Levi?”
Lucifer’s head perked up as he looked at Mammon. His frustration slowly melted away as he listened to his brother with new interest.
“Yeah! These guys are normally jerks, but then they started goin at our family, and messing with Levi really bad.”
Lucifer was silent for a moment before starting the car. He was quiet for a few moments before speaking up, “Is there anything you want?”
“What?”
“You know I don’t reward bad behavior Mammon,” Lucifer started, “But I don’t think I consider what you did today bad behavior.”
Mammon blinked a few times before snorting, “You sound like a dad.”
“Don’t push it.”
“Aight aight…. Thanks Lucifer. I’ll think about it.”
***********
Levi had always loved his games, and he was good at them. The time he spent on them honestly had Lucifer concerned for his eyes. They made Levi happy and Lucifer could usually hear him talking about the lore behind them or the characters when he wasn’t talking about his favorite shows or manga.
Lucifer didn't understand any of it, he didn’t pretend to. Usually he couldn’t stop the confusion that spread across his face. Understanding what Levi was trying to understand quantum physics. But Levi didn’t seem to mind, he would continue to talk, excitement rising with each word that passed through his lips. Honestly, Lucifer was fine with anything that made him happy.
As long as his brothers were happy and safe, that was all that mattered.
So when he heard sniffling from Levi’s room, Lucifer couldn’t help but investigate. The door was open ever so slightly. He peeked his head in first, eyes scanning the room and settling on a pile of blankets in the center.
He walked closer and sat down on the bed and let the silence permeate for a moment.
“Levi,” he said softly, the sniffling stopped for a moment, “Why are you crying?”
Levi didn’t say a word. Lucifer didn’t move.
“I’m not gonna do anything or amount to anything,” Levi sniffled, “I’m not good at anything. My interests are weird. I’m  just taking up space and… and-”
And Dad said so.
The unspoken words lingered like a bitter perfume in the air. Lucifer knew their father had most likely said such things to Levi, he knew that he’d probably said more to Levi and the idea made Lucifer’s blood boil. Just because his brother had interests that their parents hadn’t deemed worthwhile, it didn’t  mean that it made them any less important nor did it define his worth in any way.
Yet the words of their abandoners still ran hot through Levi’s veins, and the idea of his own self worth suffered.
It was despicable.
Deplorable.
“Who told you this Levi?” Lucifer asked.
The pile of blankets went quiet for a moment, “Just people…”
“Well they’re wrong,” Lucifer said, pulling the blanket down from Levi’s head, “You have plenty of talents and you have a place in this family.”
He picked up one of the controllers around them. The plastic felt awkward in his hands, and the buttons were foreign to him. Levi hadn’t moved, so Lucifer went to the next thing he could think of.
“I’d like it if you could teach me how to play.”
***********
After countless hours of research on cats, Lucifer finally made a decision. Satan had difficulties when it came to being calm. He surrounded himself with teas, and books, and music, but every now and again something (or someone) would ruin the atmosphere he worked so hard to create. Lucifer wanted to help him, he wanted him to find some sort of peace and maybe a cat was just what was needed.
Satan loved cats. Ever since he’d been young he’d had an affinity for them. Lucifer used to catch him setting out scraps for the strays outside of their old house, and maybe on more than one occasion Lucifer had left out said scraps for Satan to find.
Cerberus was good with other animals, he’d seen the dog around cats and Lucifer didn’t think there’d be any problem with having another pet in the house. Satan was responsible and a wonderful student.  Lucifer wanted to help him and wanted to see him succeed.
“Where are we going?” Satan asked, crawling into the passenger seat.
“I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.”
The look in his brothers eyes when he realized where they pulled up  to was one Lucifer swore he’d never forget. He asked him not to run as they got out of the car, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. He knew every cat in the shelter would be coming home with them if Satan could have his way, but they would be settling on one.
“Lucifer?”
Satan was staring into one of the pens. A small grey kitten with bright green eyes stared back. Needles to say, the soft bundle made the trip home with them. Lucifer swore that the calmest he’d ever seen Satan was when he was with that cat. He became a happier child and took care of her all on his own. His laughter filled the halls of the home more often, and it was contagious. Lucifer enjoyed seeing Satan smile, and he hoped the world would continue to allow him to have this type of happiness.

Clothing stores had become a second home for the Morningstars. Lucifer swore the clothes he bought for his brothers never fit past the mall dressing rooms. Every other week he was bringing one or two of his brothers for shirts, or pants, or shoes, or some other article of clothing. Today it was him and Asmodeus.
Lucifer pushed the cart down the thin aisle glancing at the various clothes on either side of them with Asmo hot on his heels. However, the closer they got to the usual section the further and further Asmo lagged behind. It wasn’t until Lucifer was in front of the button ups that he realized his younger brother was no longer close behind him. Panic seized him for a moment, thinking he’d lost one of his siblings, but soon he spotted Asmo a few aisles down looking off at something.
“Asmo. Don’t wander off,” Lucifer said, as he approached him. The closer he got to Asmo, the better he could see what he was looking at.
Pretty bows, flower clips, other sparkling hair pieces, skirts, loose fitting sweaters. Lucifer took a moment, looking over all of the different clothes, before realizing how nervous Asmo looked. Normally he was talkative and bubbly, but right now he was uncharacteristically silent and avoiding Lucifer’s eyes.
His brother had always liked pretty things. He loved picking flowers and having Lucifer catch butterflies for him to look at. He loved to watch the way sparkling dresses twirled in the movies they watched together and looking at the makeup on models on posters in the mall. Lucifer noticed these things, Lucifer knew these things about his brother, but Asmodeus didn’t know that Lucifer knew.  Asmo was worried, and unfortunately Lucifer thought he knew why.
His brothers deserved to feel safe, to be happy, and even if they’d had a rough beginning, Lucifer wanted to make sure the rest of their stories led to a happy ending.
Lucifer leaned against the cart and offered a smile, “Well, pick out some things to try on.”
Asmo perked up, looking shocked before a wide grin spread across his face. He put multiple outfits together from various sections and filled the cart. Lucifer honestly hoped they’d last him a while and that he wouldn’t outgrow them as soon as they got home. Asmo’s excitement was contagious.
Later that night, when he dropped him off at Solomon’s, Asmo tore out of the car, excited to show his friend his new clothes, hair clip sparkling in the sunlight.

“Is dinner ready yet?”
Lucifer sighed and put the knife down next to the vegetables he was chopping. Beel had an appetite unlike any he’d come across before.  Doctors had said that he was probably going through a growth spurt and that he was likely going to be tall. A growing boy needed food, and Beel was far from a picky eater.
“Not yet.”
It was the same answer he’d given a few minutes ago.
Beel’s stomach echoed through the small kitchen as Lucifer picked up the knife once more. As he chopped away, his younger brother inched closer until his little eyes were peaking over the counter. A small hand reached out to steal a carrot piece from the counter. It wasn’t sneaky, Lucifer saw, but it didn’t matter.
Beel watched Lucifer in silence for a while, eyes wide and tracing every movement his older brother made.
“Lucifer?”
“Hm?”
“If I help you with dinner will it be done faster?”
The chopping stopped once more as Lucifer thought for a moment. Of course he could let Beel help. He didn’t want him using the knife, but this could still be a good opportunity to learn.  Slowly he nodded and looked towards the vegetables he’d already cut.
“See those right there? Could you put those into the pot for me? I have another pot on the stove filled with water if you’d like to watch it warm up. When it’s boiling we can put the noodles in,” he said.
Beel’s grin widened and he nodded quickly, almost tripping over himself to help.
“And make sure you wash your hands, and be careful with the stove!”
Dinner had been quite lively that night. Beel chattered on and on about how he’d helped Lucifer with dinner, which led to some of the other younger ones wanting to learn so they could cook what they wanted. Lucifer chuckled quietly to himself. He knew he’d have to teach the rest of them eventually, but he never thought that he’d have a little cooking class on his hands.
***********
Finals had Lucifer stressed. He was running off of at least thirty-six shots of espresso split between six separate cups of coffee. Sleep seemed like a distant and fond memory to him, something he hadn’t experienced in a long while. He almost didn’t pick up on the sounds of small feet slowly padding against the floorboards of the house.
“Lucifer?”
The voice startled him, and he almost spilled one of his cups of coffee that had long gone cold. He swore softly before turning around. The soft glow of his laptop had been the only light source illuminating the room, and it took his eyes a while to adjust. Belphie stood in the doorway, pillow in one hand and his blanket trailing behind him.
“Don’t tell the others, but,” Belphie was hesitant, his eyes swept to the floor, pink flooding his cheeks, “I had a really bad nightmare, and I can’t fall back asleep.”
Lucifer sat up a bit and tilted his head, “Is there anything you’d like to tell me about it?”
Belphie started to shake his head, then he hesitated. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before shaking his head again. “No,” he said, “But can I stay out here with you? But don’t-”
“Tell anyone? Of course I won’t, but you’re welcome to stay,” he yawned, scooting over ever so slightly to make room on the couch. He could feel his brother hesitate for a moment before wandering over to lay down. Minutes ticked by, and it wasn’t long until Belphie’s eyes shut once more and his small body slowly rose and fell
The more peace he could bring his brothers the better. Even at the slightest disturbance of sleep, Lucifer would smooth back Belphie’s hair in an attempt to calm him. Nightmares had become a common thing after what happened for a lot of them, and that meant Lucifer became alright when dealing with them.
He wasn’t going to leave them ever.
*********
Had he made the right decision? Or had his own pride made him so stupid as to make the worst mistake of his brothers’ lives? Should he have let them be taken by other families, potentially more stable families, and just set up dates to meet? Had he been selfish in his decisions?
These thoughts often plagued Lucifer when he was alone with his own thoughts. He thought about the problems his brothers faced and part of him felt responsible. He felt responsible for their fears, their problems, their worries. Everything bad that afflicted them could potentially be his fault.
Mammon’s rebellious behavior.
Levi’s self deprecation.
Satan’s frustrations.
Asmo’s issues with his image.
Beel’s misplaced guilt.
Belphie’s angst.
Maybe he thought he could do more for them than he was actually capable of.
Maybe he’d been wrong.
**********
“Lucifer!”
Lucifer’s eyes glanced up from his paperwork to look at Diavolo from across the desk. He’d had piles of paperwork today, it felt like more than usual. There’d also been an influx in clients. New hires would definitely be needed soon. Perhaps he could have a meeting with Diavolo and Barbatos about it.
“It’s time to clock out!” he said, bright and chipper as usual, “I was wondering if I could walk you home?”
Lucifer sighed and put down his pen. Diavolo was a good man and Lucifer did love him, but sometimes Lucifer felt like he took his work a little less seriously than he did.
Or maybe Lucifer was a little too strict.
“That isn’t exactly necessary, besides, I have some things I need to finish up before I head home.”
“Nuh uh!” Diavolo clicked his tongue and shook his head, “The last time I let you stay past close to work, you were still here when I got back in the morning! It’s time to clock out. I’ll even help you where I can tomorrow!”
If he could stay on task when Lucifer needed him to. But Diavolo was a good man to work with, and he had proven himself time and time again. So Lucifer really shouldn’t worry himself all too much…
With a sigh of defeat Lucifer stood from his seat, each vertebrae in his spine cracking as he did so. He’d sat longer than he intended to…  “Alright, you win,” he said, “Just let me organize my work.”
Barbatos was waiting for them by the doors of the firm, keys in hand. Diavolo’s hand was pressed firmly against Lucifer’s back as he chattered away excitedly. It brought a soft smile to Lucifer’s face as he nodded to Barbatos. The more he thought about it, the more he realized how routine it had become for the three of them to walk home together. They were two of the closest friends Lucifer had ever had. After all, taking care of his brothers hadn’t left much room for socializing.
He knew Diavolo walking him home would also require him staying to talk for a little bit. Lucifer was already thinking of the variety of teas he could make for the two of them to relax with. His home wasn’t ideal, considering his brothers could be nosey when it came to his relationship, but if it made Diavolo happy it would suffice.
“Thank you,” he said as Diavolo opened the door for him, “Now-”
His sentence was cut short. No sooner had he walked into the kitchen and turned the lights on than confetti streamers went off, and a chorus of ‘surprise!’ surrounded him.
His brothers were all there, standing with wide smiles and eager faces. In the center of it all was a cake: “Congrats on One Year!”
Diavolo was behind him again, guiding a stunned Lucifer into the room. His hand squeezed his shoulder, excitement coursing through his veins.
“You haven’t forgotten have you?” Barbatos hummed, “The firm has been around for a year now. Your brothers wanted to congratulate you and asked us both to help.”
Ah. That’s right. This is why Barbatos was their secretary. The man knew how to keep track of the passage of time.
Seeing that their brother was still in shock, Beel decided to speak up, “We wanted to let you know how proud we are of you.”
“Despite everything you’ve had to do and all the odds stacked against you, you still did it!” Asmo chirped in.
“And you did it while still raising all of us,” Satan smiled.
“Even when we could be the biggest pains in the ass,” Mammon said.
Levi turned to look at him, “Hey, stop talking about yourself Mammon.”
“Oi!”
“Nah, he’s right, we can all be annoying,” Belphie snorted, “Well, you guys anyways.”
Despite his brother’s bickering, Lucifer’s smile had found its way back on to his face, “Thank you… All of you.”
“Well, why stand here when we have a cake to eat?” Diavolo chuckled, “Come on now Lucifer, let’s take a seat. Ha! That rhymed. Look at me being a poet!”
As Lucifer sat down with the others, he couldn’t help but look over all of his brothers. They’d all grown into such fine young men with bright futures. They were laughing, and happy, and together… They’d had their rough patches and a rather depressing beginning, but now they had a bright future ahead of them. Maybe Lucifer did make the right decision and maybe he’d been too hard on himself at times.
Despite every terrible thing that had happened they’d made it. They’d all beat the odds. As he sat there with his family he looked each of them over.
Confident and boisterous Mammon, who enjoyed drawing in attention.
Passionate Levi, who loved his hobbies more fervently than anyone Lucifer had ever met before.
Intelligent and calculating Satan, who’d always be hungry for knowledge.
Sweet little Asmo, who wore his heart on his sleeve and could spot beauty in anyone.
Gentle giant Beel, who was so compassionate and was always sensitive to the needs of others.
And a mellow Belphie, who knew how to appreciate the little things in life.
Lucifer was proud of them. No. Pride couldn’t even begin to describe the feeling spreading throughout his chest. This feeling was so much more intense. They were all so happy together, and Lucifer wouldn’t give this up for the world.
Their parents would never understand what a grievous mistake they’d made. Lucifer would never understand their reasoning, and he would never make excuses for them.
Lucifer had one thing they’d never have: the love of his brothers.
They would never have the satisfaction of seeing them be successful in life, and Lucifer would make sure they were successful and happy.
Even if Lucifer hadn’t been perfect, he knew he raised them right.
He knew they’d have bright and happy futures.
