Reagan was predatory and controlling from day fucking one, and even after that character arc in Book 1 that people use as a defense (which didn't even address his predatory behaviors anyways) they're still pulling this controlling "when a woman agrees to be my sub she agrees to obey" "I forbid you from working on this story" "you are to come home right away" shit. Reagan is literally just Pat Ransic 2.0. Again, if people can still enjoy this that's fine, but if anyone defends this as good writing I swear to god I will pitch myself into Mount Atropo.

It's gotten to the point where I don't even want a pegging scene in this book anymore because that's just too good for this book and we pegging enjoyers deserve fucking better. The only pegging Reagan deserves is a pegging in the face with a fucking hammer.

I think the only way Surrender can possibly be redeemed as a series now is to just have MC leave Reagan for good. But we all know PB ain't gonna let that happen.

Any empowerment of the MC is immediately negated by the toxic relationship she’s stuck in with Reagan, especially since it’s painted in such a positive light.

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).

Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

I know this is a tiny part of the wider problems born of diet culture, fatphobia, classism, and racism but like god the idea that "healthy" food must inherently taste bad has completely ruined us as a society.
