When he was in high school he had promised himself to walk all the neighborhoods of Los Angeles in order to be able to understand his city in all its complexity. As he continued to fulfill his goal over the years, he realized that the exercise would prove impossible. In every area he got to roam, he'd confirm what he already suspected: there were hundreds of cities within his city, each telling a different story. He'd need several lifetimes to understand its many incarnations.

At least once every 2 weeks minimum, boxes will appear on the curbs for people to take before the trash men collect them, often containing lots of books! I can’t save them all, but todays picks look super promising! The Maidens in particular will be a super good read that I’m very excited for

Sunrise run!! Legs have been really tired since the 10 miler on Saturday, so I decided to indulge in a really pretty route and just see how I felt. The elevation map is hilarious because of the route down under the bridge and then back up to Clifton (I ran down, then walked the hill back up, we’re not trying to pass out at 5am on a weekday 😂), but so worth it for the views!
This week has already had a lot of ups and downs, the super hot temperatures are messing with me and it’s only due to get hotter for the next few days 😭 I find it super hard to regulate my emotions and energy in the heat, especially because it messes with my sleep so badly! But I’m doing my best to adapt and enjoy the nice parts of it. 🌈
