I Ran a Marathon!
What a day! What a vibe! It was so much better than I expected.
The race started with fireworks, and had lots of Christmas lights along the way.
Many beautiful views like this one, once the sun came up.
Here are my stats for those who are interested:
The final 0.2 was quicker than my watch says…I forgot to stop it at the finish line lol. 🤦🏼♀️ Miles 4 and 16 were portaloo stops. (The lines! 😳) Official race time was 6:27

Marathon 1 is a sort of ‘princess trapped in a tower’ type of story but when her knights in shining armor show up to save her, they make sure to damage as much fucking castle and government infrastructure as they can on the way out before riding off into the sunset, which is fun. Escape the tower by making the tower uninhabitable, and make sure everyone who maintains the tower is dead.
But as a player, you aren’t really her knight here. You’re a weapon for sure, but you’ve never rushed to her aid like the s’pht have. You’re helpful, yes, but as a human loyal to Leela, and the marathon, you are inherently endangered, and disadvantaged by durandal’s desire to get out.
