Get to know: Mari(lyn) Kaizumi! ☁️

A well known OC in this blog!!!

Mari Kaizumi is a young fellow 14 year old whose a ranked hashira demon slayer! She's a brunette with yellow tips at the ends of her hair strands along with her hair strands. Her hair is neatly tied with a black bow. She has green eyes and tan-ish skin.

About her personality + Other things

Mari usually is closed off and quiet, perhaps harsh at times but she mostly just doesn't speak unless needed to/wants to. She can be cruel at times, but it's mostly only with her missions. Although she has another side, a more childish and carefree with the ones she's close with, especially her dear older sister, Riko, Muichiro and her relatives. She is indeed biased in short. Sometimes, she's also mischievous and scares a specific cousin of hers when she feels like it.

She's quite airheaded and tends to get distracted by anything around her sight... Hence why her crow, Yakumo has to accompany her at all times to ensure she doesn't get into any trouble... But she can become very focused with something that interests her (for example: training and fighting demons). Though, when I say very focused; I mean it. When becoming hyperfixated on something, she'll neglect her own well-being. She would need to be reminded by her crow or anybody close to her to take care of herself.

Mari isn't afraid to use violence when necessary, even going as far as breaking one's arm just for a mission. She believes violence is a necessity if one isn't complying.

Mari's motivation to be a demon slayer

After a fateful encounter with a demon and saved by a demon slayer, finding out that her sister is a slayer motivated her to become one as well. She has a few motives as to why she wants to be one, but she wanted a good excuse to be with her sister and spend a lot of time with her. But at one point, Mari fell into the mindset that she was born to be a slayer and that that her only purpose is to save and kill demons. That mindset is also worsened by the fact she felt like she was worthless as she was never good at anything.

She uses cloud breathing, learning it after having a dream of it (or more so an inherited memory. She's however unaware that Cloud breathing was a breathing style taught by her ancestors)

In battle, she is surprisingly well focused. She focuses on two things: Protect people and kill the demon(s). She focuses so much on those two, that sometimes, she might ignore her own injuries. And herself maybe…

Fun facts about her:

Her favorite food is croquettes! Especially ones filled with cheese and meat... And if her sister made it. Though, she always was a huge fan of her sister's cooking so it's no surprise...

Her birthday is at April 30!

She's 4'8. And often, she's confused to be younger than she actually is due to her height...

When she becomes sick, she succumbs to a more childish and even more airheaded personality. She needs to be supervised when she's sick cause she'll try to go somewhere, despite her sickness...

Speaking of Mari being sick: She would have her hair down during those times. She doesn’t like the idea of accidentally breaking or damaging her bow, especially since she isn’t gonna be able to think straight.

When Mari was younger, she was much ruder to anybody aside from her sister and the Tokito twins. That of course changed over time, now she's slightly less rude.

For some odd reason... She doesn't like getting near any large bodies of water. She would try to avoid them as much as possible.

She's a sweet tooth. She loves sweets.

Her favorite season would be fall due to the cloudy weathers and the orange trees! She often would have fun piling up leave and diving into them!

Her hobbies mainly consists of either training or spending time with her older sister and/or Muichiro! If not, she would try to cook, or maybe cloudgaze.

Mari is not afraid of bugs. Infact, she would let spiders around her body, especially as a way to scare her clingy cousins off... One time, she let a big spider rest on her hair and it petrified Riko...

Marilyn means "Star of the ocean"!

She has a huge attachment to her bow. She always preferred wearing it all the time.

She used to bite people when she was young.... Yeah. She still bites people if necessary.

Mari knows a bit about chopping up wood from her visits to the Tokito family.

Aside from cooking and swordsmanship, Mari isn't really great at anything......-

In kimetsu academy: She's a 2nd year in middle school. She's in the gingko class! She gets along with Koyuki!

Speaking of kimetsu academy: She’s best at P.E!

Mari (And Riko) is somehow naturally strong. She was able to pick up Muichiro one time. It's somewhat odd though... Since she's somehow a natural at being a demon slayer too.

Mari experiences allergy seasons.

She surprisingly doesn't get scared often. Mari could be jumpy when getting jumpscared (and even sometimes, she wouldn't jump). Although she WILL get scared when her sister is mad (especially at her)

Relationships:

Riko Kaizumi - Her older sister. She and Mari are very close! Riko was basically her parental figure growing up as their parents suddenly neglected Mari when she was 4. Mari is clingy to her sister and would (mostly) listen to anything her sister says. She learns a lot of stuff better if she taught her. The thought of upsetting her makes her guilty... Mari is usually seen accompanying her!

Tomoki Kaizumi - Her late older brother. Mari unfortunately doesn't remember much about her brother. But she did knew from her sister that they had a decent relationship prior to his passing.

Muichiro Tokito - Her first friend and lover! They've known each other since they were 8-9 and have such a close relationship! Even after he lost his memories, Mari still was a little close to him, but it wasn't the same as before. But after he regained his memories, the two became closer than ever once again. They're biased for each other...

Yuichiro Tokito - Another first (or maybe second) friend she made! Although she wasn't as close with him as with Muichiro, they still were close! Mari would often try to offer him her help after his parents passed, but he always refuses it. She was devastated when she heard of his passing.

Her parents - She... Honestly doesn't like them too much. She hates her mom especially, and she gives no shits about her dad. They didn't really care much about her aside from basic necessities. They didn't even notice her disappearance until a month later.

Her aunt and uncle/ Mrs. and Mr. Minami - She sees them as her parent figures rather than her actual parents! After meeting them while in a mission, she has been writing letters and visiting them ever since. She's even treated as their own child... In fact she could be considered a favorite in the family.

Her cousins (The Minami siblings) - They also adore her! Especially Misaki who often tries to do anything to spend time with her. They often cling onto her for attention, aside from Kei, the eldest cousin. Mari sees them as her siblings too!

Milo Suzuki - A great friend of hers! She bonds well with Milo and often write letters to her and hang out with! Often, she invites Milo to try out her sister’s cooking.

Yumera Hirobe - A close friend of hers! She often comes up to her for advices and writes letters to her as well! She does get worried sometimes over her overworking problems, but thinks it's a normal thing to experience.

Oumi Etsuko - ..Once again, another close friend of hers! Despite her menacing aura, Mari and her are surprisingly great friends. She has a moon accessory given by her !!

ALL TO WELL: PART II LOVE IS SUPPORTING

YUICHIRO X READER

Featuring Muichiro x @cloudymistedskies 's OC Mari Kaizumi (I want to thank Cloudy for letting me use Mari in this fic)

The moment you reach sophomore year, the popularity of the tokito twins grew, and didn't help that the two of them joined the varsity baseball.

Upon seeing their skills during your P. E. period, your teacher encourage them to auditioned for baseball as they are needed for members due to other players being injured during their training.

They were not interested at all, Yuichiro mainly. The team that their teacher had mentioned doesn't win or have a supporter. Yuichiro knew better, they were only approached to gain popularity and have supporters. Muichiro on the other hand, wanted to join but he was hesitant as he wanted to join with his older twin. If Yuichiro says no then it's a no.

But Mari, who became part of your little group, encouraged Muichiro to join, saying that he has a lot of potential and will greatly contribute to the team.

He was blushing profusely after Mari complimented him, while Yuichiro, on the other hand was glaring at his younger twin brother for acting such a whimp.

"I.. Uh.. I guess we could try out" Muichiro stutters while looking away from her.

You noticed you bestfriend, Yuichiro who was glaring at his younger twin brother, You nudge him, giving him a 'be supportive' look but he shook his head, and said in a stern tone "we're not joining" to Mari.

Mari whipped her head towards the older twin brother with her eyes narrowed, "Well I'm not asking you to, I'm asking Muichiro to join, not you" She told him bluntly, brushing him off, while looking back to his younger twin brother with a smile.

'not again' you thought, immediately grabbing Yuichiro's arm as his face instantly turned bright red in agitation, ready to throw his usual insults.

"you little--" We'll be back!" you interrupted Yuichiro, pulling him away abruptly. You all knew the real reason for dragging him was to prevent him from engaging in his usual banter with Mari, which often involved them trying to annoy each other.

"Is there going to be a day where the two of you stops throwing insult to one another?!" you exasperated, crossing your arms as the two of you make your way to the cafeteria to freshen up.

Yuichiro just shrugged, "Muichiro always listen to her more than me" he plainly said, shaking his head slightly.

"Well, She's nice and Muichiro likes her a whole lot" You stated the fact.

"... And besides, she's right, Muichiro has potential and I know that you too will play a huge part in the team, so why won't you join too" you smiled nudging him encouragingly.

Yuichiro disregarded the last sentence, expressing disagreement by shaking his head. He argued, "Nice?! Have you witnessed the way she glares at me? Considering she has feelings for my brother, she should be kind towards me." He sighed and rolled his eyes, finding it hard to believe that someone smaller than him could give him such a fierce glare.

"...And Muichiro never has the guts to confess, he always tries to deny, even when it's so obvious. It's unbearable to watch."

You failed to respond to him while you both entered the store, and you glanced at their menu to look for drinks as you waited in line.

"Be patient and understanding, it can be a challenging task to open up and confess." Your words of support show that you empathize with Muichiro's situation.

"Sharing information becomes effortless when two people have a close relationship," he commented.

Your conversation was cut short as you stood infront of the counter, you raise you hand to signal him wait as you placed your order, 4 milkshakes.

Starberry for you, Cookies and Cream for Yuichiro, Mint Chocolate for Muichiro, and Vanilla for Mari.

After paying at the counter, both of you went to the waiting area while they prepared your order.

"You acted like it's easy to say things when it's not" you continued your little conversation from earlier.

"It is though"

"nuh uh. You still haven't admit that you were the one who broke my barbie doll back then"

"What?!" Yuichiro exclaim, whilst looking at you in wide eyes gaze. "That was long time ago Y/n! "

"And you never admitted that you broke it," you said, rolling your eyes at him and trying to hide the smile that is about to appear.

"That is not the same, Y/n!" he exclaimed..

You gazed at him with a fixed expression, your customary emotionless look, a behavior typically employed by you to elicit a response from him. Despite his avoidance of direct eye contact, he remained aware of your penetrating gaze upon him.

"Fine, fine! I didn't do it on purpose, okay? I didn't mean to break it," he said irritably and sighed.

"So it was YOU all along!" you exclaimed, pointing your finger accusingly at him while giving him a sharp glare. "How could you?"

"Come on, Y/n, let it go. That happened ages ago," he mumbled, rolling his eyes at your childish reaction.

"that's my favorite doll and you never said sorry about it"

"I'm sorry" he mumble a half meant apology.

"hmp! It's too late to apologize"

"WHAT?!" "You want me to say sorry, but at the same time, you whine about being too late to say sorry.?!"

"You better make up for it"

"Fine! I'll buy you a barbie doll to make it up"

"No! I'm not a kid anymore Yui" You whine.

"then what do you want" Yuichiro snap, pinching his the bridge of his nose.

"Join baseball team" you suggested, smiling encouragingly.

"I'm not joining, end of discussion"

And of course that didn't end your discussion.

"Were at the open field, Mui will try out for baseball team "

"alright, see you there, Yui will try out too"

"How did you -" You cut Mari off with a laugh telling her to you have ways before saying your goodbye.

When you arrived at the school field. You encouragingly nudge Yuichiro towards the coach before you sat down next to Mari and giving her the Milkshake you bought.

You were smirking while looking straight where yui and Mui talking to the coach while Mari gawking at you.

"How?!" Mari exclaim.

"I told you I have ways"

Mari look at you accusingly, "what?" you chuckle at her reaction, "Yuichiro agreed in under some conditions" you admitted,

She looks at you curiously, "What is it?"

"He's going to try out if I considered joining the debate team"

Her eyes widened, "You have finally decided to join the debate team after all this time, even though I have been trying to convince you for a while. And now, you are willing to join just because Yuichiro mentioned it?"

You shrugged your shoulder, chuckling at her expression and confidently stated," anything to win our bet, now pay up"' extending your hand towards her.

She grumbled but still gave you her cash bet, which you happily grabbed and waved at her.

"Hey its not my fault your' reverse psychology' didn't work on him." you stuck your tongue out at her.

"not fair" she whine "you dragged Yuichiro to solo him, of course you'd win" she whined and you laugh at her.

What she didn't know was Yuichiro knew all along the bet you and Mari made.

"Another condition, I want 50% of the bet"

"wha-what are you talking about?"

He rolled his mint green eyes at you, "Don't play dumb, I can hear you and Mari betting, can't the two of you get any louder?" he sarcasm laced in his voice.

You immediately sputter apologies "I'm sorry!"

"I'll forgive the two of you just give me 50%"

You looked at Mari who is happily sipping on her Vanilla Milkshake, you decided not to tell her. 'at least the vanilla milkshake is free', you thought.

Since the tokito twins got in the team, you stayed true to your words and joined to debate team.

Much to your dismay, Mari didn't joined with your debate team since she was still pouting how you listened to Yuichiro instead of her, no matter how you try to convinced that you already considered it before Yuichiro mentioned it.

"Cmon are you going to leave me alone in debate team"

"I only said I'd join so you would apply but you know I'm not a good fit with debating" Mari said, smiling sheepishly at you as the both of you walk to your locker.

You were just about to disagree when suddenly, someone sneaks up behind you and playfully puts their arms around your shoulders. It's Yuichiro, who must have overheard your conversation. He looks over at Mari, teasing her, saying, 'Oh, you? Not a good fit for debating? Have you even heard yourself talk? Always talk with snarky remarks"

You gently nudge him with his elbow to shut him up while Mari rolled her eyes at Yuichiro's statement. "Shut up"

"Ha! With smart mouth of yours you'll make your opposing team really shut up"

You shake your head at their little banter, as you open your locker to leave your things when you felt Yuichiro arms leave your shoulder and heard him say "What's this?" followed by "I don't know, give me that" squeal from Mari.

You look curiously behind your locker to see Yuichiro raising a handful letters envelops while looking at them and Mari jumping to try and reach it.

Your eyes widen realizing that it's love letters and immediately shot an accusing look to Muichiro who was silent but when he caught your knowing eyes, he immediately shook his said mouthing "it wasn't me"

You felt bad for Muichiro seeing the painful look in his eyes.

"I didn't know you're famous Mari"

"Onii-san, you know Mari is well known, specially she's our class president"

Though, Yuichiro already know that but he likes to annoy Mari as much as Mari annoys him.

"I don't get why you're famous though" Yuichiro teases.

"and I don't get why you're famous Yuichiro, you're an asshole!"

Your eyes widen and stifle a laugh, upon seeing his bewildered expression.

Even though you tried to control yourself, Muichiro let a laugh escape his lips, making you giggle.

"Asshole? And they made you class president with that mouth of yours"

You grab Yuichiro arm as you giggle, "Shut up Y/n, you should be on my side" Yuichiro said.

You shook your head "I'm not picking any sides" you turn and waved at Mari and Muichiro since you and Yuichiro had plans after school and you told them beforehand.

.....

A poke in your temple has startled you. You look behind to see Yuichiro looking at you, "Are you okay?" he asked you.

"Huh? Yes?" you muttered, gazing at him with a questioning look.

"I tried getting your attention and you're so focus on your laptop Y/n"

"Oh, I'm doing some research with possible debate topics" You explained, returning your gaze on your laptop, proceeding to read the topics that was debated before.

Yuichiro plops down besides you, watching you as you focus on your research.

"I'm bored"

"mmm"

"let's get out of here"

"mm"

"Y/n" Yuichiro whine, poking at your cheek.

"What?" You look at him, giving him your full focus.

"let's get out of here" he repeated his words that you ignored.

"I can't, I need to be prepared for tomorrow"

"You're more than ready Y/n, You been reading for days. Let's hang out" Yuichiro stated, gently pulling your arm. You felt anxious about tomorrow's debate, where you and others would represent the whole sophomore class against other year level. You didn't want to mess up, especially with Yuichiro watching. You didn't want to disappoint him.

Yuichiro closes your laptop before pulling you up, "you need to relax Y/n" Yuichiro murmured before dragging you outside your house.

He enthusiastically took you to the arcade, your usual hangout spot. Spotting an empty seat in your favorite spot, he eagerly grabbed your hand and hurriedly led you there without wasting a moment.

For a moment, you felt your heart thumping fast. Yuichiro has always held your hand since you were both young. They were always innocent gesture but you didn't know when did your heart starts beating fast whenever he unexpectedly held them.

You find yourself becoming flustered as he gently guides you to sit down. He mutters some words, but for some reason, they don't quite register in your mind. As he walks away, leaving you in silence, you can't help but pause for a moment and gaze at your hand that he had held.

No, you shook your head, you felt silly, you shouldn't crush on your bestfriend, that's breaking the best friend code, never fall for each other.

You raise an eyebrow and stare at your hand, gradually turning it into a fist. With frustration, you slam your fist on the gaming slot you were sitting on, annoyed at yourself.

Internally scolding yourself to get a hold of yourself, you're a bestfriend and nothing more.

A tap on your shoulder has startled you, "I bought us some tokens" Yuichiro smiled, a smile that he rarely shows to everyone else, only his closes friends and relatives gets to see that bright smile that you have grown to adore.

Smiling back, you took some of the tokens and spent the rest of the day with Yuichiro until it was time for the both of you to go home.

You were eating your ice cream as the two of you walk on your way home, your hand carrying a small bear stuff toy that you didn't exepct him to win.

"I told you I'd win" Yuichiro brag, waving the stuff toy in your face.

"You just got lucky" you teased, chuckling at his excitement, Yuichiro has yet again never fail to amazed you.

"here take it" He said, handling you the blue bear, and you look at him confused.

"What am I supposed to do with that?"

"Dumbass what are you supposed to do with stuff toys?!"

"It's yours though"

He rolled his eyes at you while shoving it in your hand, "Take it, this is for breaking your 'precious' barbie doll"

You had a grin sketched on your face as the two of you walked on your way home, simply because you were extremely happy and relaxed, momentarily disregarding your concerns about the debate tomorrow.

You happened to be in opposing team, whether Vape is a good alternative for cigarettes.

Right after your constructive speech on why you opposed to vape, the affirmative team starts questioning you, "can you determine which between cigarettes and vape has cause a higher rate of death"

For a second, your mind almost went blank before seeing Yuichiro in a crowd giving you an encouraging nod 'you can do this'

"Both cigarettes and vape products contain nicotine, which is responsible for an increased rate of mortality." You didn't know how you manage to come up with your quick response but seeing Yuichiro nodding in approval, you felt confident.

The debate ended with each affirmative and opposing's conclusion speech.

You let out a breathe you were holding the whole time, it was your first time being on debate or on stage for too long with many audience, you were thankful for your friends, Mari, Muichiro and specially Yuichiro for being there as your support.

"You did great" Muichiro said as he ran up to you.

"Im shaking" You said, making Mari laugh, "but you still did it so well Y/n" you playfully glared at her, whining as you say "You were supposed to debate with me"

She stuck her tongue out at you and laugh.

Yuichiro ruffles your hair, "you were good" he compliments, your heart starts pounding with joy upon hearing him.

"th-thanks"

You look at Mari when an idea pops in, smiling at her, "You like watching football right?"

"yeah?" she gaze at you with a questioning look.

"mm nothing"

During your P.E., your teacher was busy reading some applications when his eyes caught something.

"Kaizumi!"

Mari's ear perks up upon hearing her last name.

"is there I could help you with sir?"

"So you wanted to support football?"

Confused, "Yes" she answers, nodding slowly, while she looks at him questioning.

"I see, I'm glad that you decided to apply for cheerleading, there will be practice later don't be late" Your teacher said before leaving in a hurry to answer a phone call, leaving Mari stuck there.

You smirked upon seeing Mari dumbfounded expression, when Mari saw your expression, it took a little while before it dawned to her that you did this.

"Y/N" Mari shriek, chasing after you as you ran and laugh at her.

"I thought you said you wanted to support football team" you teased, yelling back as you ran away from her.

.....

It took a while before Mari had calmed down, or more like after Muichiro calmed Mari down, rubbing her back soothingly with encouraging words.

"Don't worry Mari, they wouldn't dare to drop you if they throw you in the air" you tried to comfort her, despite being the one to refer her to cheerleading team. You may or not actually threaten the boys in the team to break their bone if they happen to drop your friend and injured her.

"Ye-Yeah, You're so small and tin-" You slap Muichiro mouth before he could sputter some non sense. Mari instantly blushing. You mentally slap Muichiro for not choosing the right word. "what he mean is you're a good fit for the team and wouldn't be troublesome to carry you"

On the day of school sport fest.

Three of you watched Mari cheerdance in awe. Muichiro as supportive as always was in front and taking a video of her while you took pictures.

You slightly nudge at Muichiro, wiggling your eyebrows and he blushed profusely. Mari did so well, you were proud of her. You didn't know Mari have some cheer dance move under her sleeve. Muichiro was super impressed, you make a mental note to tell Mari that.

After the football game, next was the baseball.

You and Mari, still in her cheerleading outfit, were seated in the bench supporting Yuichiro and Muichiro in the game.

Muichiro stands confidently in his stance, gripping the bat tightly and eagerly awaiting the baseball to be thrown. As he swings with all his might, you and especially Mari can't help but rise to your feet, filled with excitement. In a burst of energy, Mari couldn't contain her excitement and cheered at the top of her lungs, echoing through the air with passion and enthusiasm. "Go Muichiroooo"

Muichiro slowed down for a moment, blushing profusely, as he turned his attention towards her. Yuichiro, a member of the team, had assertively yelled at him to run faster.

You yanked Mari down, "oops" she sheepishly said, blushing as she might have cause losing points.

You could see Yuichiro subtly scolding Muichiro for losing his cool and almost losing some points.

Their team emerged victorious at the end of the game, successfully catching up and clinching the win despite the close call.

You and Mari cheered through out the game almost losing both of your voice, they did it so well. Yuichiro did not gave mercy on throwing the ball with all his might and you were proud of him.

The Tokito twins then came over to where you and Mari were seated. You gave Yuichiro a bottle of water and congratulate them. In a cheerful tone, Mari did the same for Muichiro and enthusiastically congratulated them too. You couldn't hide your joy as you grinned widely and proudly expressed, "You two did so well! We're so proud of you!"

The two of them went back for a quick shower and to change while you and Mari, gossips while waiting for the them.

You were babbling something to Mari when some girls approached you, "Are you both the girlfriends of Tokito Twins?"

The two of you promptly deny, which sparks excitement in their eyes upon learning that Yuichiro and Muichiro are still available. They promptly sit beside you and ask for their phone numbers, but you remain firm and do not give in despite their persistent attempts to persuade either of you.

"You are acting like Yuichiro's girlfriend even though you're not," she huffs and mutters, clearly frustrated by your lack of willingness to share information. Rolling her eyes at you, she turns back, only to be confronted by Yuichiro standing behind her, who glares at her.

"The audacity you had to talk Y/n like that? I don't even know you and you're acting entitled"

The girl stammers out apologies as he disregards her and proceeds towards you. Firmly grabbing your hand, he turns to Mari and says, 'Mui is waiting outside, let's go.' Without hesitation, Mari grabs her belongings and joins you, and together, you all walk away, leaving the girls behind.

"A small misunderstanding" Mariyui fluff fic

(Kimetsu gauken AU)

Both Mari and Yuichiro were walking to their school, The two intertwining their hand together as they made their way. The brunette yawned, catching the shogi player's attention.

"Did you not get any sleep, Mari?" Yuichiro asked, arching an eyebrow at Mari who was rubbing her eye. She nodded before looking up at Yuichiro.

"Nope... Nee-chan needed my help to prepare for her lesson that's gonna happen today..." Mari answered as the two made it to their lockers and opened it, intending to change their shoes. A pile of love letters fell from Yuichiro's locker, earning a snicker from his childhood friend.

"Woaaaaahhh... That's a lot of love letters." Mari commented, chuckling and changing her shoes before hopping her way to Yuichiro's side and examining the pile of love letters. Yuichiro rolled his eyes, taking a love letter and ripping it into two.

"This is pointless. I'm not interested in any of these idiots." Yuichiro scoffed, Mari furrowed her eyebrows at the harsh comment, though she understood where he was coming from.

"That's a little mean, but I guess I understand you. Oh! Chocolate!" Mari snatches a chocolate bar that was around the pile of love letters, unwrapping it. Yuichiro's eyebrows raised and immediately stopped Mari from eating the chocolate.

"Wait. That could be poisoned!" The mint-green eyed boy warned, causing confusion for the brunette who took a bite of the chocolate bar. She didn't seem to have any sort of reaction that could signal anything bad.

"Doesn't seem to be... And it's milk chocolate!" Mari beamed as she takes a piece and feeds Yuichiro the chocolate, making him startled from the bow-head's action.

"Hey-!! ... This actually tastes nice..." The long haired boy mumbled, reluctantly chewing on the chocolate piece and letting Mari feed him. He blushes at the gesture. He wouldn't say it outloud, but he oddly loves it when Mari would feed him.

"Yeah! Maybe you should try going out with this... hmm... 'Miyuki' girl..." Mari joked while chewing on the chocolate. Yuichiro furrows his eyebrows, annoyed at Mari's comment. He then snatched the chocolate from Mari's hands and threw it to the trash can, along with the love letters.

"Wh- Hey!! I wasn't even done with the chocolate!" The brunette whined, but soon yelped as the shogi player holds her hand and started walking to their classroom. He still seemed annoyed from Mari's comment.

"I'm not going out with someone I barely know. Plus, I already have someone." The last sentence confused the green-eyed girl, raising her eyebrow.

'Yui is dating someone? And he never told me nor Mui? Wonder who that lucky person is...' Mari thought while the two arrived in their classroom and sat in their respective chairs. Mari was still curious about who Yuichiro was dating, glancing at him every once in a while.

Classes were now in session as their teacher, Kyojuro was giving a lesson about history. Mari was unable to focus as she busied herself with wonders about who could be dating Yuichiro.

"Yui has never tolerated anyone aside from me and Yui..." Mari muttered, thinking hard and trying to reach a conclusion. She was so focused in her thoughts that she didn't notice the teacher calling for her.

"Kaizumi!" Mari snaps out of her thoughts and quickly focuses her gaze to the her teacher, who was smiling.

"Please read page 122!" Kyojuro instructed the young brunette. Mari nodded and held the book with both of her hands, standing up and starting to read the page outloud.

After doing so, she sits back on her seat. Mari was still wondering about who was with Yuichiro and she averts her gaze at the long-haired boy.

'Hmm... Yui... Who could you be dating?' Mari asked in her head, her eyes filled with curiosity. Yuichiro would soon notice Mari looking at him, which alerted Mari and quickly looked away, finding herself embarrassed that she was caught. She sighs softly.

Mari roamed around the hallways of their school, with Yuichiro accompanying her and holding her hand. The brunette was humming while she was making her way to the teacher's faculty to get her lunch from her sister.

"I wonder why your sister just can't pack your lunch before going to school. Wouldn't that be quicker and less work?" Yuichiro asked as he continued walking with the bow-headed girl. Mari looks up at Yuichiro, smiling before replying to his question.

"Nee-chan always preferred that I eat her food fresh from cooking! And it's a good opportunity to say hello to her too!" Mari explained, grinning as they finally made it to the teacher's faculty, and letting go of Yuichiro's hand before gently knocking on the sliding door. Yuichiro stood behind the petite girl as they wait for her sister. The door would soon open, revealing Riko with Mari's lunchbox. She smiles brightly at her younger sister.

"Hello, Mari! Was classes good for you? And speaking of which where's Muichiro at?" The blonde girl asked as she gives the brunette girl a quick kiss on the forehead before handing out her lunch. Mari hummed in response.

"Yeah! Classes were good and Mui decided to eat lunch with Tanjiro and the others. We're gonna join them soon!" Mari responded, swinging her head back and forth a little as she holds the lunchbox.

"Okay, then. Take care, Mari!" Riko pats Mari's head gently before sliding the door closed. Mari would turn to Yuichiro who was averting his gaze away. Confused, Mari taps his shoulder, making him jump a bit.

"Something up, Yui??" Mari asked the long-haired boy, tilting her head. He shook his head, grasping Mari's hand and started walking her to the roof top.

"Nope. Nothings up." He answered, mumbling. This whole time, he was shuddering over Riko's glare towards him... And Mari was oblivious to Riko's hatred towards Yuichiro.

As the two continued their way, they noticed a boy walking up to them, seemingly nervous. Mari tilted her head while Yuichiro arches an eyebrow.

"Is there anything of concern?" The brunette asked as she noticed the boy hiding something behind him. The boy took a deep breath and offered Mari a love letter, bowing his head and extending his arms.

"Kaizumi-san...! I-I was wondering if I could go out with you! You're really pretty like your sister and I'd...be super honored to be your boyfriend!" The boy confesses his feelings to the green eyed girl. Both Yuichiro and Mari were surprised by the boy's words. Mari sweatdrops. Despite being slightly flattered by his words, she doesn't return the same feelings as the boy in question. She takes her time to come up with a response.

"Well... I...uh appreciate your words, but--" Mari was cut off when Yuichiro wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her tightly. Mari gasped, obviously shocked by his actions and...even flustered by it as her cheeks turned red. She quickly composes herself and looked up to Yuichiro, about to ask him why he did that but she notices him death glaring. Specifically at the boy who just confessed his feelings to her.

"She's taken. Taken by me, and I don't want to share. So scram." Yuichiro retorted, narrowing his eyes to the boy. He then lets go of Mari, walked up to him and grabbed him the collar of his uniform, still giving the boy a death stare.

“Is that clear?” Those words were enough to scare the boy in question. As soon as Yuichiro dropped him, he immediately backed away from the two. Mari was stunned by Yuichiro's statement, blinking multiple times at the shogi player. She finds herself blushing for some reason.

"Wait- waaaiitt- W-What did you just say, Yui???" Mari stammered out, her mouth agape. Yuichiro turns to look at Mari in confusion.

"I just told that guy that you're my girlfriend? What's the issue??" He asked. He doesn't seem to understand Mari's confusion.

"G-Girlfriend?!" The brunette was stunned by his response, placing her lunchbox at the side before putting both her hands on his shoulders.

"Yui! We aren't dating!" Mari exclaimed, with her face being red from his words. Yuichiro seemed more dumbfounded than before, arching an eyebrow and feeling embarrassed.

"W-We aren't dating?!"

"What exactly made you think that we are?!" The green-eyed girl asked, blinking numerous times again. She honestly couldn't believe that Yuichiro thought they were both dating.

"You... You...We're always holding hands... Y-You're usually always sticking by my side and we...cuddled???" He answered, stammering and blushing as he averts his eyes away from Mari. He would soon cover his own face in embarrassment, backing away from the bow-headed girl. Mari sighed, trying to compose herself before speaking.

"You were the one who suggested we... hold hands just in case I get d-distracted by some...thing. A-And we always cuddled! We've done it since we were children!" Mari explained, though she was unable to find a good explanation for the second remark.

The two looked away from eachother. no words were uttered after that as they both felt complete embarrassment. Eventually, Mari broke the silence.

"Well... Since it's like that... D-Does that mean we're dating now?" Mari asked, muttering and cupping her cheek. It felt warm. Yuichiro looks at her, his face was red and he sighed before nodding.

"Y-Yeah... I suppose." The mint-green eyed boy would soon take the brunette's hand and Mari takes her lunchbox with her other hand and the two continued walking. The green-eyed girl leans her head against his shoulder, making him tense up and blush more.

"I guess I finally now have an excuse to do this..." Mari mumbled, closing her eyes and humming in content.
