Prism Leech is an escaped doctor from the Rainbow Factory - the origin point of the outbreak in this AU. (Rainbow Dash isn't affiliated with the Factory in this one, don't worry)

The Spectra Mutagen was originally synthesized in an attempt by the Factory's medical team to maximize harvested Spectra (the raw pigment in ponies) due to a steady decline in Flight School failures over the years.

This mutagen instead, upon infection, overloads the body with Spectra. This induces fever, hallucinations, madness, then finally death and reanimation.

Infected of most stages are easily spotted by the bright over-saturation of their coats, manes, and eyes; along with rainbow blood and bile.

Prism's the team leader and healer, although her bedside manner sucks, as she's thoroughly desensitized to tragedy and gore - a result of her Factory upbringing.

She escaped during a riot by infected prisoner test subjects and plucked her own feathers to ensure she could never return to the sky.

rise’nshine is “frankenstein’s monster”. i did NOT mean to make him look like a rooster. but i like it. i think its funny. the pegasus from whom this body is taken is deceased and rise’nshine uses his name as a way to remember him. the unicorn’s name was clink clank and his cutiemark is a diagram of a multiple piston engine because i thought it was funny. is the force that gives ponies their cutiemark clairvoyant? did the ponies find out they were living on a globe because it appeared as a cutiemark? is it based on the pony’s subconscious? is it based on the collective subconscious of all ponies? is it possible that a cutiemark could contain inaccurate information because it’s informed by pony understanding? was there a pony with a cutiemark of a flat earth that had to learn that the world isn’t flat? if a pony’s cutiemark depicts something like national borders, if those borders change, does their cutiemark change? is this a possible method for faster than light communication? changing a country’s borders back and fourth to communicate a message in binary to a distant star? a bunch of astronaut ponies watching their friend’s ass for updates from home base? or does the information travel at the speed of light, so if the astronauts are a light year away, then the cutiemark would change a year later? if so, why? does this information have a carrier? what is carrying it and what sent it? is it based on a collective unconscious, but it’s just frozen at the moment it appears? if it is based on collective unconscious, but it is also reflective of destiny, what does that have to say about destiny? is destiny informed by society? anyway, clink clank invented that kind of combustion engine because the diagram for it appeared on his ass and I think that’s funny lol.

Sky Painter is “cutiepox” they had all of the magic from several other ponies shoved inside of them and it gave them all their cutiemarks. I haven’t decided if the donor ponies are deceased or if they are just living in a completely drained state like the ponies from starlight’s cult. regardless, sky painter is haunted by their talents and their destinies. here’s all of their cutiemarks below the break:

Lightning Dust and her little daredevil

In my AU, Lightning Dust had a foal of her own through a donor(Thunderlane).

Her foal is named Wing Strike

Wing Strike never really met Thunderlane formely, he knows who he is, but he never got any desire to know him personally.

Ironically enough, Wing Strike thinks of joining the Wonderbolts when he is a little older, Lightning Dust is very aware of it and tried to talk him out of it, it didn't work, so she had to bite the bullet about it, though he will always have a spot at the Washouts if he want it.

Wing Strike's best friend is Dashing Zapple(Rainbow's son), they have the same age and meet in secret to avoid drama with their respective mothers.

An AU where Celestia sent Sunburst to Pony ville instead of Twilight Sparkle.

Optional ramblings-

An AU were Twilight didn't hatch spike and the sonic rainboom happened rather differently. Twilight is Celestia's personal student on merit alone, the Sonic rainboom not happening during her test.

Celestia has always been attentive of all students at her school for the gifted, not just her personal student. Sunburst has been in her school ever since he got his cutie mark. He hasn't been socializing, and his grades have been dropping as he starts to isolate himself away from the public. Celestia has decided to give him the task of the summer sun celebration this year in hopes he'll break out of his shell and make some friends.

I left this account abandoned for too long due to personal life struggles/bereavement. I’m ready to get back into drawing things for myself! Here is my new Twi redesign, subject to change. Up next is sunset, of course; Then I’ll work on the rest of the Mane 6. I’ll also make posts about their place in the story and relations with Princess Sunset!
