Let's Talk About Pacing Our Fight Scenes.
For Fast-Paced Parts:
Short words with single syllables. Immediately > at once/ endeavour > try/ indicate > point at/ investigate > check out.
Short sentences, the shorter the better.
Partial sentences to blaze through multiple senses and actions within a few lines.
Short paragraphs
Lots of verbs.
Few adjectives and adverbs.
Cut down on -ing form of verbs, as it can make words longer
Use simple past tense
Avoid conjunctions and link words.
Avoid internal thought - your characters are irrational, ruthless and in the flow of pure action.
For Slow-Paced Parts:
Use medium/long sentences
the paragraphs are longer: three lines minimum
Include longer words with more syllables
Use adjectives and maybe a couple of adverbs.
Insert the thoughts of the PoV character.

Angst Prompts/Dialogue that hurt
(Not all of these are my quotes. I found some of them over various platforms and just wanted to make a collection for writers to use, so if anyone knows where they are from please comment them so I can credit them)
---
“I don’t think I could love anyone the way I loved you.”
“And they smiled, maybe not at me but, after all this time they still smiled, so I’ll smile too.”
“We tried so hard to not be torn apart. But, at the end of it all, we both wanted something different. I wanted you and you…You didn’t want them to know.”
“It’s not like you ever understood me anyway.”
“They were like the two sides of a coin. Forged together but never facing the same direction.”
“I’m tired of being broken.”
“Where did we go wrong?”
“You’ve never loved me, have you? It’s always been them.”
“I love you (Character name), I always will but I just don’t think we were meant to be.”
“Maybe in another lifetime we’ll get our happy ending.”
“You were the reason I stayed. It’s just a shame I wasn’t yours.”
“I wonder how it’s possible to hurt so much when there’s nothing wrong.”
“Take care of them for me, please?”
“I love you-” “No, you don’t. Please stop lying to yourself.”
“Is this goodbye?”

-:"Vampire and werewolves cannot be together...or can they?" Vampire x werewolf prompts:-
(Omg, I aboslutely love this request. Had way too much fun writing these! Tag me if you use any of this :) || requested by: anon)
By @me-writes-prompts
The werewolf catching the vampire drinking blood from a dead creature and just standing there in astonishment, not speaking. And the vampire getting startled when they look up.
^^"Gosh, your kind really sneaks up on people!" "You guys are not people, you're blood sucking monsters. Come on, we all know this." "That is not true." "It is."
Werewolves and vampires having annual competitions(as in who can hunt more/get past humans)
Getting paired up as roommates
^^"You cannot leave blood in the fridge! It makes the other food smell disgusting!" "Well, you cannot leave fur all over the bathroom floor either!"
Vampire and werewolves having to work together against humans.
stuck in a room together 👀
"So...what? You're having these mood swings because you haven't been in heat or whatever?" "That is not- I am not having mood swings!" "Oh, so this is natural you. Dang, I feel bad for the people who have to put up with you everyday."
"Look here, you little fang thing, I am not giving up this parking lot because you want to be in the shade!"
Accidentally stumbling upon the werewolf during the red moon, and being scared shit out of their mind.
^^ "H-hi, uhh, I'm your vampire neighbor remember? Me, [name]? Whoa, slow down! I'm not trying to harm you, okay? Look, I don't have weapons! Goddamn, you big puppy..." They mumble, slowly backing into the woods, and making a run for their life.
"Listen, I don't hate your kind. Vampires, that is. So let's just be friends yeah?" "Yeah. Now that I think about it...I don't really hate you guys either."
Falling in love without knowing each other's identities(aka forbidden loveeee)

Hello, you amazing citizens of Tumblr. Here we are, the first writing challenge I’m happy to hold for no particular reason other than challenges are very fun.
We all know and love many Jujutsu Kaisen characters, and I guess many of us love food too. So, what if we join both passions in this challenge?
Welcome to “JJK foodies and goodies”, where you can send as part of the challenge a fic relating any JJK character with - you guessed it - food!
Slutty smut using food other than intended? Food preference head canons? A dinner scene? The sky is the limit, guys.
Tumblr media
One fic per writer.
Said fic or Drabble must be within the 400-2000 word count limit.
It has to be an original/not already posted piece, that was written specially for the challenge.
It must feature at least one JJK character in a main role.
There is no need for it to be “x Reader”.
Any genre is accepted, but be sure to tag it correctly at the beginning of your fic.
Tumblr media
Just to write and have fun with it. I might think of a next challenge with an actual prize, like a fanart or something of that sort, but this is supposed to be a simple bonding experience among writers and readers from the community. By the end of the challenge, I intend to make a masterlist with all of the submitted fics and put it in my pinned post.
Tumblr media
All submissions must be POSTED on your own blogs, TAGGING me (@tsukimefuku) and LINKING this challenge at the beginning, after May 26th and until June 21st.
Any story posted for the challenge after that deadline won’t be on the challenge’s masterlist.
Tumblr media
Considering this will be an extensive challenge to unite jjk fans and writers across the platform, I’d like to provide writers with a taglist for when they post their stories.
Readers and writer-readers: if you’d like to be on the tag list and support your fav writers works, please fill out this form (link) UNTIL MAY 25TH.
Writers interested in taking part on this challenge: on May 25th I’ll EDIT this post, putting the tag list here at the end for you to use on your fic, so be sure to save this somewhere safe :)
You don’t have to use the tag list, but you can if you want!
And this is it, loves! Hope you all have fun. I know I will 🤓🦉

Writing Prompt: Technical Difficulties
AU where after a mishap breaks the earpiece, Chloe is mayor without any of Lila’s instructions. To everyone’s surprise (including her own) she’s actually doing a more than decent job. She eventually throws away the earpiece figuring she doesn’t need Lila to tell her what to do anymore. And for the first time since she was Queen Bee, she’s looking after the city. She can even tell people who she is this time.

Writing Male Fighters
Body Language
Before they start fighting, they will communicate a lot through body language, either conscious or subconscious.
Standing with legs apart, elbows out to the side, shoulders aquared, chin thrust forward and up, hcest inflated and turned full front to his opponent, piercing stare. These cures are intended to make him bigger.
He may hook his hands into his belt, framing his genitals.
Subtly stretching his neck or spine.
Stepping close up to the other, invading the other person's personal space. The one who steps back will "lose" - when this happens, we know that fists will be flying soon.
Skills
When writing a scene from a male point of view, don't make the mistake of writing a detail about basic fighting skills (like landing a fist in the opponent's jaw). For a man (on average) who probably learnt to box in his playground days - it would be better to let the moves come naturally.
For fancier skills (like weapons handling or martial arts), you may explain in fuller detail so that your readers can follow what's happening.
Weapons
Men often have a special relationship with their weapon: very personal, almost intimate. The weapon may serve as a symbol of his power, masculinity and reflect his self-image, even.
The hero may be seen cleaning, repairing, oiling his weapon, bragging about it or comparing it with others'.
Men Against Women
Most men are reluctant to hurt a woman. This instinct is often hard-wired into them, even in martial arts school that pride themselves on gender equality.
While there is no biological reason for sparing a a female fighter - only the sense of good old chivalry - you can show your villain hesitate for a second or hit less hard when a see a woman coming for him.

The importance of setting:
Setting is a powerful tool in a writer's arsenal, capable of significantly influencing the mood and atmosphere of any story. The setting provides the backdrop against which the characters interact and the plot unfolds.
One of the primary ways setting impacts mood and atmosphere is through its sensory details. By vividly describing a particular place's sights, sounds, smells, and textures, writers can immerse readers in the story's world, evoking emotions and setting the tone. For example, a gloomy, fog-shrouded forest might create a sense of foreboding and tension, while a sun-drenched beach could evoke feelings of warmth and tranquility.
The relationship between characters and their environment can further enhance the atmosphere. A protagonist navigating a labyrinthine urban landscape filled with neon lights and shadowy alleyways will experience a vastly different journey compared to one exploring a vast, windswept desert.
Effective use of setting involves more than just describing physical surroundings; it requires careful consideration of how these elements contribute to the overall tone and themes of the story.
Ask yourself questions: How does the setting reflect the internal struggles of the characters? How does it influence their motivations and choices?
By weaving the setting into the narrative, writers can create immersive worlds that resonate with readers long after the story ends. Mastering the art of setting allows writers to transport readers to distant realms, where every street corner and hillside becomes a vital piece of the storytelling puzzle.
