the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
*by live theatre i mean plays, musicals, operas, ballets, concert versions of musicals, staged readings, & things of that nature. EDIT: YES this includes amateur, local, kids, high school, & community theatre. almost every show i've seen has been local

Sometimes I'm struck by the thought of how across the globe and across time, there's been women who've found each other, held each other, and loved each other, and men who've done the same. And I feel so happy for all these women and all these men, and so incredibly grateful that I can count myself amongst them.
