Been watching Peep Show recently, and it really is one fourth wall break away from being the Truman Show. Or TMA. I actually love it as a sitcom, it makes me think a bit more than most.

Okay, so he's sort of evil. Kind of. I mean, he's the ghost of a teenage urchin assistant to a seriously evil Victorian dude. Attached to his own skull. Trapped in a jar. With only one person to talk to, and yes, he does suggest murder as the answer to all her problems, but you'd probably be a little murderous too in his shoes! Not that he has shoes, being a skull in a jar. (He's also funny, more than occasionally helpful, and in the end, he really comes through.

Jeremy Usbourne:

the thing about peep show is i LOVE the premise that every shot is filmed from the POV of a character currently present. and yet cinematographically it's very similar to amateur porn. or maybe it's just the early 2000s styles and undecorated apartment with the windows always closed.

#regardless i love the constant eye contact. similar experience to the david mitchell's soapbox series but the feeling of #oh? damn you're looking at me i'd better pay attention becomes more subliminal within 20 minutes #man... even though all the characters suck on a human level and not in an exaggerated seinfeld way #where instead it's like huh i recognize these impulses in myself and when actually examined it's really unappealing #i find the two main characters so endearing... especially entering season 5 as jeremy seems more honest with himself about #his dedication towards mark... it was less fun when he treated mark awfully without much hemming and hawing #wise fuzz #peep show
