Me and my friend have been playing PMD2 lately and this is what we have gotten out of it

Found this while cleaning through my files & I think it just gets funnier the longer you look at it

So, you've got your hero and partner relaxing at Spinda's Café, presumably winding down after a mission

And then, entirely unprompted, this amnesiac bastard (with quite possibly the edgiest nickname ever) just suddenly drops this bombshell

finally finished playing explorers of sky and I don't think I am the same person that started it

some context for the rhyperior thing: the first time I went into the darkrai fight I was super anxious for unrelated reasons and couldn't pay attention at all (got swept)

Y'know, from his own point of view, Dusknoir was the good guy: This human and 2 Pokemon decided that they did not like the state of the world, so they go and travel back in time to change the past, basically erasing the future and killing everyone there.

The literal god of time told him "Yeah, you need to follow my plan or everyone's dead"

And he was kinda right innit? Do they explain what happened to all the other Pokemon of the future? (I haven't played the game in years tbh...) The main future gang gets deus ex machined into existence, but what about the rest of the future people? because I'm pretty sure those guys got erased from ever existing. He's probably gonna get some hardcore survivor's guilt after that.

Writing a fun little fic about my PMD2 hero OC, Twig, stumbling across the amnesiac Darkrai years after the events of the post-game and fearing that he’s eventually going to recover his memories and repeat the events of the game. As a result, she lets him live in her house so she can keep an eye on him and desperately conceal all hints of his past. During all this, she is a nervous wreck and ends up going to Grovyle for advice on how to not keel over from stress. Grovyle has little advice to provide beyond “NO???” and “WHY???” and “STOP DESTROYING YOURSELF FOR THE GREATER GOOD!!!” Unfortunately for them both the Self-Sacrificial Lizard Instinct is contagious and they’re perfect equals in stubbornness; the resulting argument will never resolve and they will be stuck there shouting about how hypocritical the other person is being until the heat death of the universe.

Thinking about the explorers of sky hero. How they were probably fighting for their life for as long as they could remember, just like Grovyle, Celebi and Dusknoir. How they thought they would never have a future. How they suddenly had a partner, a team, a family, a whole life ahead of them before learning who they were and what saving the world would mean for them - but they went ahead with it anyway. Always fighting, willing to sacrifice their own future for the future of others. And then the postgame says, you deserve to live. Even if you're being told that it's the right thing to do to sacrifice yourself, you deserve to live and you deserve to fight for your future. I might be reading too much into it, but... man i love this game.

explorers of sky x friday night funkin Boyfriend reference for the Smiles Go For Miles mod

i wanted to make an effort to naturally add BF to the world of PMD2 rather than randomly shove him in there, so I tried to design how he would look as the human in the future of darkness. I imagine that you couldn’t really stay all shiny in a world like that so I tried to rough him up a bit as a result of the dangerous pokemon and (non-existent) environmental conditions. While he’s gonna show a decent amount of other emotions in the dialogue portraits, I still want to stay faithful to his canon characterization of “too dumb to not be confident”, so I kept his goofy little face :^)

and don’t worry, Girlfriend will also get some more attention later on!
