The concept of an girl demonized and abused as an object having to pay for her brothers sins while he rapes and abuses her while she dries his tears . Because she has nothing else and she’s lived for so long and nothing has ever changed and she meets another reckless butch who views her as a princess to be saved and sees herself as a man a prince like her brother a saviour a naive young girl who sits in the system and works in its ways . So she plays along with it acts the foolish princess and Utena the beloved prince who saves her too feel good about herself to be a prince to be a man without fully understanding that she supports the system in its ways she adheres to its rules in reverse. She is not a revolutionary she is girlboss pawn .
But she loves Anthy . She really cares she treats her humanely as a person as a friend as a lover .
And what can Anthy do what can she do when Utena keeps coming back keeps loving her saves her and fights for her and loves her . Just because she believes she deserves it . Just because she loves her .
After so long after so much pain how can she believe she will succeed in truly freeing Anthy in truly loving her how can Anthy even conceive that she truly loves her.
She’s poison and Anthy has poured it in her tea . She’s just as weak any girl just as weak as Anthy . She can never save her . She can never stop Akio . So she betrays her stabs her and walks away she can never help . She isn’t a prince she’s just a girl .
And Utena tries to save her any way even despite it all she knows she understands she loves truly loves Anthy . And she fails. she isn’t her prince she’s a girl .
BUT SHE DOSENT BECAUSE ANTHY BREAKS FREE ANYWAY BECAUSE SHE KNOWS SHE NEVER NEEDED TO BE SAVED SHE KNOWS UTENA LOVES HER SHE REVOLUTIONISES THE WORLD . SHE BREAKS THOSE BONDS. FORGET THE PRINCES WHY ARE THEY BETTER WHY DO THEY MATTER !!!!! ANTHY HAS UTENA AND SO SHE LEAVES AKIO SHE IS FREE THEY BREAK THE BONDS THEY DECIMATE THEM THROUGH THEIR LOVE

One of the best - and saddest - punchlines in RGU is when Touga tells Miki to claim his precious things before somebody else takes them away, and then Akio proceeds to do exactly that to Touga by grooming Utena. Granted, Utena is a baby lesbian so Touga never really had a chance, but the irony is there.
#rgu#touga kiryuu#utena tenjou#akio ohtori#and touga drops this sentiment before we even learn of his night rides with akio#which makes me wonder if they had direct contact as early as s1#revolutionary girl utena#this is really the case where touga getting a taste of his own medicine and being denied princehood by the ultimate Prince#makes the gears in his head finally start turning#and it's so satisfying!! they're in a game no one can really win so he and saionji reunite and find salvation by losing together!!

Shoutout to Movie!Saonji for being just. So unhinged.
Like obviously first things first, his facial expressions
Then there’s also how he has Anthy’s hair IN HIS MOUTH
But like, okay whatever I guess, he did just bury his face in her hair ig that’s just smth that would happe-
DO YOU SEE THAT. HE HAS FUCKIN SPIT DROPLETS IN HER HAIR WTFFF😭😭
Then also, even beyond all of that, I realized that you can’t even sympathize with him as much in the movie, either. In the show, while obviously he’s a bad dude and treats Anthy like shit, he also has issues/trauma of his own, mostly (if not entirely iirc) because of Touga. Along with the fact that later we’re shown that he’s also just a pathetic loser. That part doesn’t exactly make him more sympathetic like the first one, but he is funny which at least means you enjoy his time on screen a little more if that makes sense.
But in the movie, we don’t see him after his duel, besides the end (where he is comedic, but it’s not quite the same as the series). So we don’t really see any other side to him. AND in the movie, Touga is dead. Touga has been dead for years. So Saonji can’t really have the same amount of trauma that he does in the show. So I’m not entirely sure why he’s acting like this in the first place
You can assume/extrapolate reasons for why he’s like this on your own ig, I wasn’t really building towards any larger point besides Saonji just being unhinged as hell in this version of the story lmao
(Also I do not know everything ever about this show. I’m not smart enough to figure out every little detail. So I might be wrong in some areas or miss what implications there could be with the changes in the story. Im just trying to make a silly goofy post about The Guy™️. + I’m literally neurodivergent and a minor🥺🥺🥺🥹🥹🥹🥺🥹🥺🥹🥹🥺🥹🥹🥺🥹🥹🥺🥹)
