sungchan x fem! reader
friends to lovers au; fluff ♡
— you are about to have the best saturday ever. it was unexpected, and it was beautiful.
saturday afternoons are spent at a cafe nearby, so when you kissed your mom goodbye while she was busy tending to the flowers, she didn't have to ask where you're off to. "why is your boyfriend not picking you up today?" her words caused you to roll your eyes. "very funny, mom." she was referring to sungchan, your childhood friend. she knew you had a crush on him ever since the day she "accidentally" saw your diary open with doodled hearts decorating jung sungchan's name. you made her promise to stay quiet about it, but she's not doing a very good job at it.
"why? you haven't confessed to him yet? you guys are obviously pining for each other since everyone knows how long-" her teasing elicited a death glare from you. she put her hands in the air as if surrendering in response. "okay, promise, i won't talk about it." despite her words, you perfectly knew she would still tease you so you hummed the most sarcastic "uhuh." in return.
"gotta go, i'll be back in a few." you bid goodbye while closing the gate, giving a her a flying kiss despite all the teasing you just received. "you look breathtaking, dear. he'll make a fool of himself if he doesn't notice that." you smiled at your mom, thankful for her words of encouragement. you shrugged the silly thought that almost made you nervous as you made your way to the cafe. meeting sungchan has always been natural for you- but there's just something about today that you can't point out, and you're unsure of what it is. "maybe it was mom's teasing, idk." you thought. you examined yourself as you walk. "do i really look good today or is she only saying that because i'm her daughter?" you asked yourself, not ignoring the fact that you hoped the person you'll be meeting would think the same way.
a few minutes passed and you arrived at the cafe, you weren't suprised to see him sitting at your usual spot near the window. your usual strawberry latte and slice of cinnamon bun already sitting on top of the table across his iced americano and chocolate cake. your insides swelled with warmth at how much he knows about you- surely, it must've been because you have been friends for a long time, but you can't help but still be swayed with the thought and gesture. he's always been like this, so you can't help but wonder why does everything feel so new today. you held onto your bag tighter as you inched closer to sungchan- the girls are shamelessly staring at him and you wouldn't blame them, he looked absolutely handsome in his cream sweater, his brown hair parted evenly, and his lovely eyes are pinned on you- you'll never get tired of adoring his brown specs- you could get lost in them and you won't mind. "missed you all week. you were too busy to meet me." he says with a hint of accusation, cutting you off from your trance and you can't help but think how he looked cute when he pouts. "sorry. you know our debate competition is up so soon, but hey, i'm here now." you reassured him. "i'm busy with soccer practice but i still have time for you though?" he raised an eyebrow, earning a giggle a from you. "clingy." he narrows his eyes at you but doesn't deny your words.
an hour passed by and it's just you and sungchan talking about life. he doesn't let go of the topic that you two are on the same university, both with busy schedules and he reasons out that he pestered you to meet him because he doesn't want to eat lunch with anyone else on a particular wednesday when he almost failed his math test and how he detests that he didn't get to see you the entire week and you just laughed at him for missing you a little too much, in which he continuously tried to deny. "you should get yourself a girlfriend so you'll stop missing me too much." you said.
sungchan suddenly became silent, he averted your gaze. you noticed he looked hesitant and a hint of sadness colored his eyes and you swear, you never want to see him like that. you knew he had something on his mind. "why? what's wrong? sorry, did i say something wrong?" you can't help but feel nervous beacuse of his sudden silence, you gently laced his hands with yours to help ease him up.
while staring at him, you were trying your best not to look too in love or he would notice- it scares you to think that your feelings might show and sungchan only thought of you as a friend. the thought alone made you gloomy, but his next words are unexpected. "i saw you with a guy last wednesday" he started. "i want to approach you but you seem happy talking to him. you never told me about him." he continued, still looking away from you.
you let out a sigh of relief, almost happy that it wasn't about anything more concerning or gravely serious. you weren't sure what to think of, but you almost heard a bit of jealousy and worry with the way he spoke. your brows knotted in confusion, trying to think about who you were with "sunghoon? he's a classmate from history, we were waiting for our groupmates that time when you saw us." sungchan felt relieved, almost as if a huge weight on his chest has been lifted. he tried to summon his old self back like nothing happened. "i was just suprised to see you with an unknown guy! imagine if auntie saw you with him and asks me then i didn't know anything, right?" he convinced himself it was the perfect excuse. he can't believe how dumb it sounded but he also didn't know how to deal with his feelings when he, too, was afraid that you might notice his true feelings and you didn't feel the same. it would break him beyond repair.
"ah, that's it." you try to hide your sadness but the disappointment in your tone was obvious, your hands reached to finish the remaining pastry you had.
sungchan caught a glimpse of hurt in your eyes. he has always been a straightforward kind of guy- but when it comes to you, the words doesn't come out easily. he thought that maybe, you'd know how he felt, but seeing your reaction made him realize that he should've told you about his feelings sooner. since it's out in the open, it's now or never. sungchan gathered all the courage he could muster, determined to tell you that he isn't contented by being your bestfriend anymore, he wants more. he wants you to get the message.
"the truth is, i was jealous." you looked at him, not believing what you just heard. "i couldn't bear seeing another guy making you smile, i want to be the only one to make you smile like that." your heart is now pumping at an abnormal rate. "i want to see you and hear your voice everyday." you can't believe that this is happening right now. "i don't want to be just your friend, y/n." he continued. "i like you- no, i'm in love with you." he confessed. his words sending you to cloud nine, your fingers now laced tighter as he looks at you with gentleness and concern, waiting for your reply.
"i'm in love with you, y/n." he repeated so you would know that he's serious, after all, sungchan never toyed with anyone's emotions, he always makes sure that he expresses and says what he only means, especially when it comes to you. this was the push you've been asking the universe for and there's no turning back. why prolong the agony when you've accepted that sungchan is already the one for you ever since? you opened your lips to say the words he longed to hear. "i'm in love with you too, sungchan." you looked away, embarassed. he's watching you intently, pupils almost turning into a heart if that's even anatomically possible.
he stood up to grab your things and he doesn't let go of your intertwined hands. "let's go, we're telling our parents we're now dating."
as if the universe planned everything, sungchan's parents are at your home, helping your parents set the table for dinner. hand in hand with sungchan, you introduced him to your parents as not your best friend- but your boyfriend and he introduced you to his family as his girlfriend. both of your moms looked proud but sungchan's dad shot your dad a knowing look.
"i told you they'll start dating in college. just about the right time." mr. jung said and your dad groaned before handing him 50 bucks.
it was the best saturday ever.

˗ˏˋ જ⁀➴ ˎˊ˗
It may be disturbing for some and horrifying to say, but your eyes hadn't even fully formed in the womb to open and your limbs weren't even well defined enough to have joints when your life was signed off to another's. For goodness' sake, it had barely even been a month since your tiny, minuscule heart started beating! What would the Song's have done if you grew up ugly?
You sighed to yourself, muttering under your breath how Korea's third richest family should be grateful you were akin to art in anyone's eyes. You were looking through the dusty photo albums that the housekeeper found while tidying the primary study of the mansion, and you grimaced at the photos of your fiancé that appeared from even the very first page.
It was bad enough that you were engaged before you were born, but did he really have to attend your birth? He probably didn't even have memories then! But there it was, under your fingertips: a perfectly preserved photo of a 3-month old Eunseok bundled up in sleep suit being posed next to where the nurses placed you after they literally just took you out of your mother. You don't even think the umbilical cord had been cut yet.
"Y/N, Mr. Song is outside," your favourite housekeeper coos at you from the double doors going into the study. You give her a terse smile and stand up from your father's office chair, straightening your silk gown before taking her hand as she helped you down the marble stairs of your home.
You roll your eyes (mostly to yourself, but you didn't mind if he noticed) as you saw his car parked at the bottom of the stairs leading to your front door.
"You can't even be bothered to come and collect me? Or open the door for me?" you sneer as soon as you settled yourself into the passenger seat.
"Well hello to you too, my lovely wife," Eunseok smirks, immediately revving and setting off around the fountain of your courtyard.
"I'm not your wife," you snap, deciding to ignore when the word 'yet' seems to slip under his breath, "But seriously Eunseok? This car? I'm going to look so stupid trying to get out of this car in my dress and heels. Why do you love sitting on the floor so much?"
Eunseok has an extensive car range. One that any car junkie would envy, but Song Eunseok knew nothing about cars. He just had them because he could. This car was a sports car where you had to sit in such a ridiculous position just so the car could look cool on the outside.
"It's white!" he defends himself, slightly whining in a cute way to which you swallow down a positive reaction. His eyes flicker over to you momentarily and his tongue traces across his bottom lip, "You look gorgeous, by the way. Very bridal."
You're wearing a white silk dress that looks like it's made for your body. It's draped so beautifully around your hips and hugs every part that needs to be accentuated. You loved this dress the second you saw it in Paris, but you never thought then that it would be used for this occasion.
"Just shut up and drive," you quip. It takes a few moments of silence for you to feel bad even though his expression remains neutral and you sigh, "I guess you don't look too bad."
"Aw, I knew you were in love with me!" he teases again, a phrase he liked to use every time you said something to him that wasn't snarky, sarcastic or an insult.
You choose not to reply, instead taking in the bright lights of Seoul as he pulls into a main road. You haven't been back in a while, holing yourself up in your penthouse in Manhattan, but you always loved the sight of home.
"But seriously, Y/N," Eunseok coughs to get your attention, his voice dropping down low and suddenly serious, "This actually might be your last chance to back out of this. Just say the word and I'll turn this car around and take you straight to Incheon and you can run away around the world long enough until they find me a new bride."
You turn to look at him, perplexed by his words, "And you? You actually want to get hitched off to some random?"
Eunseok shrugs, not meeting your eyes, "You're not some random. I've known you since you were born. I've known you'd be my wife since the day I could understand what that meant. But if I have to find a replacement because you don't want to do it anymore, I will."
"Gee, ever the gentleman," you deadpan, "I think want is a pretty strong word. I don't want to marry you, but I guess I will."
"You're not backing out? Not leaving me looking stupid up on the altar?" Eunseok taps his finger on the leather steering wheel.
You think about his words sincerely. There's really nothing more in the world that you'd love than to run away to a small little town on the southern coast of Italy- somewhere quaint and quiet where you'd find love and spend the rest of your days cooking, cleaning, baking and finding peace in the ocean. There's nothing more in the world that you want more than for someone to ask to marry you because they were in love with your soul and not having you by their side would be like torture in the cruelest form.
Alas, you're Kang Y/N of the powerful Kang family, the eldest child of your father and the next heir waiting to take over the conglomerate. And because you're Kang Y/N, the eldest daughter of the second richest family in Korea, you were contracted to marry the first son of the third richest family in Korea. After that, your companies would merge and you would overtake the Kim's as the sole ruler of the country.
"It's my duty," you swallow nervously as you begin to recognise the streets of where you were driving, signalling that you were soon approaching the venue, "It's fine, Eunseok."
"I wish it wasn't just fine. I wish this was what you wanted." he breathes out and your heart stops beating for a second before anger seeps in through the cracks of your heart.
"Do you think it's any girl's dream to marry someone that doesn't love them?"
Eunseok sighs as he presses on the breaks, moving through the lifted barrier where they had closed a portion of the street in anticipation for his car and your arrival. He twists his body to look at you, "Y/N-"
"It's fine, Eunseok," you grit your teeth as you repeat your words, eyes trained on the paparazzi camped out on the steps of the venue, eager to get a glimpse of you, "Let's just get this engagement party over with."
˗ˏˋ જ⁀➴ ˎˊ˗
Song Eunseok had to follow you around the world like a lost puppy.
When you said that you wanted to go to that boarding school in Switzerland where only the richest sent their kids, Eunseok was in the seat next to you on that first class flight. When you said that you were going to Oxford to study for your undergraduate degree, Eunseok was tossing away his dream to study at Harvard to join you getting drunk at 18 under the grey British sky. When you said that you wanted to do your masters at Columbia so you could live in New York City, Eunseok was moving into the apartment across yours while he worked at the company his dad created in New York just for him to have something to do there.
If you said jump, Eunseok had to say how high?
That was just the name of the game considering the Song's had more to gain from this arrangement. Your family was richer. Your family was in a greater range of industries. Your family's money went back a lot further than the Song's. And you- you were the most stunning woman in Eunseok's eyes and because of him, you were stripped of your choice to fall in love. That's why the Song family gave you princess treatment from the second you were able to demand things.
You had protested until your vocal cords went raw when they found out that they were sending Eunseok to university with you. For years up until you turned 18, you had imagined finally getting away from Eunseok for once, even if just for 3 years. He had always talked about Harvard and with the grades to boot, you thought that you'd finally have an ocean separating you.
It certainly wasn't an easy fight at the airport as you threatened to drop out of university the second that you even stepped foot into the new country. All your father did was bat his eyelashes and give you a heartfelt, "Please, princess? Just do this for us."
The phrase 'just do this for us' nearly knocked you sick nowadays after over 2 decades of hearing it spew out of your father's mouth. Ultimately, yes, you were lucky to have such a loving family that never pushed anything evil or truly despicable onto you. This was the one thing they needed from you. They obliged every want and wish for the trade-off of giving your hand in marriage to the Song's first born son.
In June of your third year of university, a couple months out from your graduation, Eunseok turned up at your door completely drunk.
"What are you doing here?" your arms were crossed tightly, trying to cover as much of yourself as possible as you were clad in the smallest pyjamas for the British summer heat.
He grinned goofily up at you, eyes lazily fluttering open and closed, "Hi, Y/N. I'm drunk." He was leaning against the doorway, nearly making out with the frame.
"I can see that," you sniffed the air and grimaced, "And smell it. But what are you doing here?"
"Can't I visit my lovely fiancée on her 21st birthday?" he batted his long eyelashes sweetly at you, taking one step into the apartment. You gazed at him hesitantly, taking one step back.
"I don't think anyone would appreciate their fiancé turning up on their doorstep piss drunk at 2am," you spat, "If you truly wanted to wish me a happy birthday, you would have left me alone."
"I lost my keys," Eunseok groaned, "I didn't know where else to go."
It should be sweet that out of all the places he could have chosen to go to in the city, he went to yours. Instead, it made you feel angrier.
"Eunseok, stop bothering me," your words contrasted your actions as you pulled him into your apartment and locked the door behind him, "Go sleep in the spare bedroom and leave as soon as you wake up. I'm going out for breakfast with my friends tomorrow so lock the door behind you and keep the key with you 'til you see me next." You pulled the spare key out of the drawer and placed it in his pocket.
Like a pathetic dog, Eunseok followed behind you as you led him through the apartment your parents had bought for you.
"Can I sleep with you?" he murmured.
"In your dreams, Song," you retorted, stopping in front of the spare room door, "Plus, you stink like shit."
"Ah, it's okay," he sighed dreamily, resting his head against the door, "We have the rest of forever to sleep beside each other."
You let out a frustrated screech, shoving his chest, "Can you let me live in peace? Why do you have to keep reminding me?"
"In the hopes that one day the thought of it won't make you sick or angry," he replied, opening the door of the room.
Your strong gaze faltered, "What are you- in love with me?"
"No," Eunseok shook his head, "I could learn to though, if you wanted me to."
"The only thing I want from you is to be far away from me," you ran your hands through your hair to soothe yourself, "And even that you can't do."
"I'm sorry, Y/N. Thanks for letting me stay," Eunseok gave up on his tyranny and dropped his voice, "Happy birthday."
You muster up a near half-smile, turning to return to your bed where you'd be tossing and turning until your alarm went off, "Goodnight Eunseok."
˗ˏˋ જ⁀➴ ˎˊ˗
The worst thing about your arrangement with Eunseok was that it was kept secret.
Of course, it was an open secret in your families and to the company- and there were always rumours about it since you two ended up always together around the world. But it wasn't like it was announced to the world at any point to protect the prospective merger happening when you and Eunseok came of age.
That made relationships very hard indeed. It always had to end in heartbreak, at least for the other person.
The two of you agreed that you could see other people if you wanted to, and you agreed on this the same day you had your very first heartbreak.
"Eunseok, can we talk?" you poked his side to catch his attention. Eunseok was bouncing his basketball up and down while he spoke with his friends just outside the school courts. It had been 2 months since you moved back to Korea after spending 3 years in Switzerland at boarding school, where you quickly became homesick. Eunseok followed you home immediately.
Your fiancé bid his friends goodbye and gave you a sweet smile, "Yeah of course. What's up?"
You led him to the adjacent square that was thankfully deserted and settled just under the bloomed cherry blossom tree in the middle, "Um."
Eunseok giggled at your hesitancy and pushed your hair behind your ear, "What is it?"
16 year old you blushed terrifically at that moment, highlighting your plump cheeks and shining eyes as Eunseok peered down at you.
"I know this is um, pretty stupid," you began, breaking his stare and looking down at your Prada loafers, "Well basically, my friend Jimin- you know Jimin?- she told me to-"
"Just say it, Y/N."
"I like you?"
It came out more of a question as you quirked your eyebrow up at your fiancé.
His eyes went wide, taking in a deep breath, "Y/N. You," he paused, "You like me?"
"Yeah," you exhaled, "Is that so bad? We're going to get married someday."
Eunseok looked around and noticed his friends turning the corner to the courtyard, presumably to look for him, "Look, Y/N, I'm sorry but I thought we were going to, you know, try experience life like how others do and meet people and do whatever we want to until they tell us we need to get married. I didn't think we were obliged to date."
Your eyes began to water and your lips began to quiver as sheer embarrassment sunk into your bones, "So what? You want to date around?"
Eunseok reached out to cup your face but you quickly took a step back, feeling humiliated and slightly bettayed, "I'm sorry Y/N. I didn't know you felt like this towards me. Look, can we talk later? I'll swing by your house after basketball practice, okay?"
From the ages of 0-16, you would say that you and Eunseok were close childhood friends. Even though you had no concept of marriage or love, your parents had forced the two of you to be together through every occasion with weekly play dates and attending the same schools. When you finally understood what being engaged to each other meant at around 12 years old, it made you swoon that you were going to spend the rest of your life with your best friend, who you'd always found endearingly cute. He became more handsome as the years went by and at 16, he was the object of all of your desires.
He was manly, he was protective, he was sporty and most of all, he treated you so well. He would run around town with you no question to go shopping and indulge you in all of your cravings even if you needed to have ice cream at 10pm in the dead of winter. He would take the train with you all around Switzerland to see different lakes and ski resorts. He would help you study in the library and pass you your favourite snacks whenever it seemed you were getting tired. He would give you his jacket on the breezy nights watching the local sports matches.
You were so blinded with your affection towards him that you had convinced yourself that he did those things because he liked you back. Because he wanted to treat his future wife well.
The day Eunseok stamped all over your little heart was the day you waged a one-sided war against him. Eventually, Eunseok began reciprocating your snarky attitude and the rest had been history.
You told your maids and house security to refuse entry to the grounds to Eunseok that night, but because of your parents' unconditional offer to Eunseok to make your house also his home, he had spent a good part of the night on the other side of your bedroom door trying to get you to open it so he could apologise. For a man you were once smitten for, it was easy to put on your headphones and drown him out until he got exhausted and left.
˗ˏˋ જ⁀➴ ˎˊ˗
Eunseok opens the car door for you and offers out his hand. In the darkness of his car, you grimace slightly, but force yourself to take his hand and use your free hand to smooth your dress out as you exit the car. The flashes from the press are blinding and carry on all the way up to the bottom of the staircase leading into the venue your parents had hired for the evening.
You try to keep a pleasant smile on your face as Eunseok passes his keys to the valet men before wrapping his arms around your waist. It comes nearly naturally to him, from all the photos your parents had made you pose together in dating back a decade or two. But it's your first official public appearance together, so the flashes intensify and you're taken aback. Eunseok feels you stumble slightly and begins to lead you along the carpet rolled out up to the stairs.
There's shouting from every direction- asking where your dress was from, asking if you were dating, asking why you were with the 'rival' company's son all the time- nothing new to you. After you traverse up the stairs, the two of you turn around and give a small wave at the cameras. You feel Eunseok drop his head down to yours, so you nestle yourself into him a bit more. How sweet, you thought to yourself, pushing down the urge to throw up at all this fakeness.
"Last chance to run," Eunseok murmurs as the doorman opens the glass doors into the foyer.
"Are you begging me to?" you counter, "Why do you keep insisting I back out?"
"I'm not. I just feel guilty, so I'll make up a solution if you want to stop all of this," he whispers into your ear. To others, it's an endearing moment as you keep your face neutral.
"It is all your fault. You should feel guilty. I'm not doing this for you or your family, but for my family. If this is what they want, then I'll oblige," you nod your head firmly.
While Eunseok's family was definitely benefiting more from the merger, it did come with some advantages for your family too: less competition in the market, combined success superseding the current top conglomerate, and for your parents: the knowledge that their first born child was going to have someone that was born to and raised from a good and rich family- someone that would be able to take care of you no matter what and understand your life in a way no other civilian could.
You know that your parents' argument for you to marry this guy was weak- there were plenty of good, rich guys from other companies- but you had been happy with the arrangement at the start and by the time you were 16 and he was breaking your heart, the companies had already started slowly merging or putting the plans into place. It was honestly a shame to your parents that other than rejecting you, Eunseok really had no faults. He was always polite, always courteous and intelligent enough to take over the conglomerate with you when the time would come.
Eunseok drops his arm from your waist, instead sliding his finger between yours.
"Miss. Y/L/N, Mr. Song," your family's general assistant approaches you in the foyer with a tight smile, "The event is about to begin. Please follow me to the stage. Are your speeches prepared?"
"Mhm," you hum, tugging Eunseok with you behind your assistant, "The rest of the family are here?"
"Yes. They're waiting by the stage," she replies as nerves finally settle into your stomach. You suddenly can't even look at Eunseok anymore as the gravity of the situation clicks into your mind. After this, you were going to be officially engaged in front of the world and you were going to be his bride in no less than a year from now. There was no turning back anymore.
Eunseok has to shoot you a look to stop you shaking on the stage as your father and his begin their speeches about their company, and the new era and blah, blah, blah. You tune them out in order to focus on your breathing and make sure you don't barf the second you step up to the podium. After minutes of nonsense, you feel Eunseok place his hand on the small of your back, signalling you to take to the stand.
"Um," you began, suddenly losing all the lessons you had learned in your public speaking classes growing up, "Thank you all for joining us on this occassion. As my father said, we are transitioning into a new era of our company and as I take on the role of COO, we believe it's important to have good people by your side to support you. While my family and the Songs are joining together in business, we are also joining together in family," you look over at Eunseok, who gives you a reassuring nod, "Song Eunseok and I are to be wed in one year's time. We have been close friends and partners since we were born and I couldn't imagine anyone better suited to be by my side. We can go into this business partnership fully trusting each other and our companies and we would be grateful if you could give us your support. Thank you."
You step away from the podiums as gasps ring through the crowd. The business venture was nearly an open secret in the industry, but your relationship with Eunseok was based on rumours only, having never confirmed it. Now that you have, it would stir up all these new rumours- were you only getting married for the merger? Did you two actually love each other? What about all the eligible bachelors and bachelorettes that had been conniving to get even a bit of your or Eunseok's time to beg for your hand in marriage?
Eunseok takes his place beside you, wrapping his arm around your waist again as your families smile together for the pictures. The engagement party also doubled as a celebration for the merger, so at least all of the spotlight wasn't on you.
You're glad that your friends are here. They're all business heirs too, since like attracted like at your school. Your best friend Minjeong attacks you with a hug the second you step down from the stage.
"Ah, my best friend is getting married," she sighs dreamily into your ear, "You know what, Y/N, at least he's handsome. It's harder to hate someone when they look that good."
"Then you marry him," you chide, half-joking, "The problem has never been his looks. It's the situation."
"He doesn't hate you half as much as you hate him," Minjeong tuts, "And he's in the same situation. He never got a choice either."
You know deep down that she's right, but you're committed to making his life hell until the ends of the earth for breaking your heart. If anyone could say anything about you, it was that you could hold a grudge.
"Whose side are you on?" you prod her arm, but she rolls her eyes and links arms with you to join Eunseok and his friends.
"Happy engagement, lovebirds," Sungchan greets you with two kisses on your cheeks, "So excited to be at your wedding."
"I'm sitting you at the back," you retort, sticking your tongue out. You hated that Eunseok's friends were genuinely nice and funny people. It was so hard to distance yourself from Eunseok when your friendship groups had been deeply intertwined since you all could walk.
"Not when I'm a groomsman, right Eunseok-ie?" Sungchan swings his arm around his friend's shoulder, pulling him close, "Now tell me, who's the best man?"
Eunseok shoves his arm off, "You can just draw straws for it."
"I'll be the best man, hyung," Seunghan grins cheekily, "I'll make sure to give a really good speech, okay?"
"It's almost as if it's a real wedding," you smile bitterly, "Jeong, you'll be my maid of honour right?"
"You have to ask me properly," Minjeong whines, "We're going to do this wedding right, okay? My best friend will only get married once. I'm not letting you let your wedding planner do everything; we've been planning our dream weddings since we were 10 so we'll do it according to that."
"C'mon Y/N," Wonbin bumps his shoulder with yours, "We can make it fun. We know you'd rather not marry hyung, but he had always been the groom in all the weddings you'd plan when you were young. Now it's like a dream come true."
"Yah, Park Wonbin," Eunseok grits his teeth at his friend for bringing up the past. You wince at the reminder as Minjeong slaps his arm.
"Y/N, I think your mother is calling over you and Eunseok to dance," Shotaro calls for you softly, and you turn around to see your mother desperately signalling to you to join her on the dance floor.
"I'll see you guys later," you bid your friends a goodbye as you follow Eunseok into the crowd.
The night crawls by. It's nearly painful as you fake a smile with every passerby and acquaintance who congratulates you for your engagement. It feels like you're getting stabbed in the heart over and over again as everyone coos over how in love the two of you seem and how they always knew you were going to end up together. It crushes you as Eunseok leans down to your ear while you dance, apologising for how this was your life.
You get into his car after the party. The ride home is silent, apart from the noise of the city around you that seeps in even through the rolled up windows. Eunseok won't even dare breathe too loud in fear of making your life even less like what you had dreamed it to be.
He pulls up to your house and you make a quick move to unbuckle your seatbelt and open the door in one motion, but Eunseok wraps his hand around your wrist gently, bringing you back down.
"What is it now, Song?" you sigh in frustration, closing your eyes in defeat.
"I know this night has made your hatred for me 10 times worse," Eunseok begins, shuffling in his seat to reach into his inside pocket, "And I know that what we have isn't real to you, but I thought you at least deserved this."
Your eyes flutter open and you look over to him. He uncurls his clenched hand, unveiling a shiny ring in the middle of his palm. You bite back the gasp that bubbles up through your throat, and you reluctantly take the ring between your fingers without looking at him.
It's exactly your dream ring. It's what you imagined the love of your life to propose with when you were younger. It's what you wanted to be someone's physical manifestation of their love and devotion to you. That makes it all the worse when it comes from Eunseok.
"I remembered," Eunseok reads your mind, "When we went ring shopping when we were young for fun because you wanted to make sure I would propose with the right ring. I hope it's still what you want."
You can't bear to look at Eunseok at all, so you clench the ring in your hand and open the door, "Goodnight Eunseok. Thank you. Get home safely."
There's 100 steps between your front door and your bedroom. It takes what's left of your energy to hold back the sobs that threaten to escape prematurely. As soon as your bedroom door clicks shut, you collapse against your floor and break down in tears.
Why did Song Eunseok have to be such a good man? Why did you have to hate him? He was yours now, and that was what younger you wanted all along. Why were you taking it out on him? You had been holding onto a grudge for so long and he had been trying to make amends in private ever since, despite going along with your whole enemies thing for his own fun.
You hated how you knew that Song Eunseok could and would give you the life you wanted. You hated how all you wanted to do was love him like it was your choice and for him to love you back like it was his. But in this world, you were privileged enough to have everything you ever wanted, aside from the choice to love whoever you wanted to.
You hated how you didn't even have a choice in loving someone who didn't love you back.

You fought with Eunseok nearly every time that you saw him through your university years. You found problems in the way he positioned himself too close to you and problems in the way he would distance himself and act like strangers when you did complain about that. You found problems in the way he didn't talk to other girls despite rejecting you and found problems when he would go on dates after you said that.
In short, Song Eunseok was a problem to you.
Yizhuo was forcing shots into your hands and demanding that you downed them with her as you tried to tune back in to the party going on around you. You couldn't think of anything else the second that Song Eunseok walked through the door arm in arm with some girl.
It was the last party of your undergraduate university days, since exams had finished and you were going to graduate in just a couple of weeks. Someone had rented out some kind of manor in the outskirts of Oxford, dedicated for everyone to stay at and party for a weekend. You knew the organiser through a friend of a friend, but everyone that had been invited was someone you either knew personally or knew of. The spoilt brats community at your university was large, but tight.
You obliged Yizhuo's request and bitterly downed the drink, hissing as it burned through your tracts, "What is this? It tastes disgusting."
"Alcohol isn't made to taste nice," she tutted at you, following your line of sight before sighing, "I guess it's time to get you more so you don't have to be sober looking at that."
Minjeong shook her head on the other side of you, "I can't believe he would bring someone here. He knew you'd be here. So disrespectful."
You saw that Eunseok was about to turn, so you quickly spin away in order to avoid eye contact, "It doesn't matter to me. We're not dating."
"But he's your fiancé," Yizhuo stomped in defiance, "He should have some respect for you."
"Since he didn't want to date me, i'd rather him date other people. Then it just looks like he rejected me because he didn't like me as a person," you affirmed, taking another shot with Minjeong.
"Y/N, please. You were 16 when you confessed and 16 year old boys don't have the most mature outlook on life," Minjeong argued, coughing after the bitter shot, "I'm sure he's not stupid anymore. You grew up hot and he's practically tripping over his own feet trying to chase after you."
"He's not chasing me," you scoffed, "He brought a girl here."
"Oh, you're impossible, Y/N," Yizhuo cried out, beginning to slur, "What do you actually want that poor boy to do? Even I would be confused with the way you act."
Your best friends have been trying to knock sense into you since you turned 18 and Eunseok gave up his dream to study at Harvard to be with you in England. They had claimed that Eunseok realised his feelings for you and wanted to make up for rejecting you. You claimed that if that was his intention, he would have told you that by now instead of pestering you by inserting himself into your new life without reason.
"He can do whatever he wants," you turned your nose up, "I don't care about him."
"Well you better act that way. He's coming," Minjeong warned you, suddenly disappearing with Yizhuo and leaving you stranded with your fiancé walking towards you.
It honestly felt like the grim reaper floating over in slow motion before he came to collect your soul. You fought hard to control the grimace on your face as he stopped in front of you.
"Y/N," he greeted softly, leaning in to give you a hug. You stood still, but you don't push him away. You ignored the way your heart skipped a beat when he pressed his cheek gently against the top of your head.
"Eunseok,"
"How were exams? You're graduating this year, right?" his head is tilted at you, eyes focused into yours.
"Why are you even asking? I'm sure you know my plans for the next 10 years considering you're still following me around," you scoffed, "Does your new girl know you're moving to New York after graduation so you can stalk me while I do my masters?"
"Are you jealous?" he smirked suddenly, gentle demeanour disappearing, "She's just a friend."
"Does she know that? I don't care what you do, Song. I just feel bad for the poor girl whose heart you're going to break when you tell her you're engaged," you feigned nonchalance, pouring yourself another shot, "I guess it's my fault for telling you to have your fun and experience things since apparently you'll be so devoid of love when you get married."
"Y/N," he trailed off, grabbing the soju bottle that had appeared in your hands, "You know it's not like that. I didn't mean it like that when I reject-"
"Save it, Song," you rolled your eyes, "Your girl is coming. Don't go blaming me when time comes to break her heart."
You turned away in time and managed to snatch back your alcohol before arms wrap around Eunseok's and a high pitch voice squeals to him about how she lost him. You find Sungchan somewhere in the crowd and convince him to call you a taxi to take you back into the town where your apartment was. Before he could even confirm the booking, you had already disappeared into the crowd, the shots you had taken truly seeping into your blood and making your head spin.
You don't really remember what happened the rest of that night, but if you try hard enough, you can remember being tucked into a bed on the third floor, big eyes peering down at you as you tossed under the duvet, a hunched figure sat at the end of the bed on the floor and a soft voice singing you to a deep slumber.
˗ˏˋ જ⁀➴ ˎˊ˗
"It's gorgeous, darling," your mother's voice takes you out of the focus mode you're in. The sunlight seeps through the stained glass, illuminating the sunroom at the back of your house. If you look down through the windows, you'd find the garden that your mother has been cultivating for decades. The rose garden with its arches and its vines was where you'd dreamed to get proposed to when you were young.
"You think so?" you showed her the sketch in full, turning the pad, "Do you think it's easy enough to create in real life?"
"We can make anything you want happen," your mother takes a seat in the lounge chair next to yours.
"Can you make Eunseok love me back?" you hum dejectedly, shading in the corset of what would be your wedding dress.
"He does, sweetheart. You just refuse to see it," your mother swiftly utters, and you stop your drawing, clenching the pencil tightly in your fist.
"Why does everyone say that?" you growl, "Everyone but Eunseok."
"Because you act like you hate him. You act like marrying him is the worst thing in the world. You act like there's nothing he could say or do that would bring him back into your favour despite you loving him all these years," your mother is lecturing you now, "He follows your lead, my darling. He will go to the ends of the earth for you and he always has. What more does he have to do for you to accept the way he shows his love? What more can he do to have your forgiveness?"
There's tears welling up in your eyes and your mother takes the drawing pad away from you to examine the dress you had envisioned. She carries on while you chew your lip and fight back the tears.
"You're going to be beautiful in this dress. One year's time will fly by, so make amends with Eunseok by then. Even if you don't go into this marriage as lovers, at least go into it as friends. That will make your life easier."
"I don't want to be friends," you grit out.
"Mhm, you want all or nothing. Why don't you ask him, then? He threw the ball in your court when he asked you if this marriage is what you want. Someone who doesn't love you or care about you wouldn't give you the option to run away to save yourself, you know?" you hate how insightful your mother is as she grabs your left hand, "This ring is beautiful, Y/N. He knows your heart like it's his."
"Cause it is his," you choke as the tears begin falling, "And he stamped all over it 8 years ago."
"He was just a young boy back then. He's followed you all over the world to be by your side ever since. He's sacrificed his own life to make your dreams come true. You have no choice but to marry each other, but he's been making choices to give you the life you wanted," she strokes your hair gently, "Can you give the boy a chance?"
Over the years, your parents had apologised to you for putting you in such a situation. They had told you that if you truly, inside your heart, didn't want to get married to Song Eunseok, they would call the whole thing off. The marriage was a way to ensure the merger wouldn't go awry by putting you and Eunseok as collateral if one side ever did try to betray the other. Tying the two of you together in marriage was a way to prevent either families from ruining the other.
You considered putting a stop to things more times than you could count on your fingers, but selfishly, you would imagine yourself on a rocking chair on a porch, hair grey and skin wrinkly and when you would look over to see who would be on the other chair, Eunseok was the only one you could imagine with you.
"But I've treated him so horribly all these years," you hiccup, trying to stop your crying, "There's no way that Eunseok would love someone like me."
"Because you won't let him," she stands up and places the drawing pad back in your lap, "Y/N, your father and I love you very much and all we want is your happiness. We haven't opposed this marriage despite how hard you've tried to push Eunseok away because we know that if you let him, he would make you truly happy. You're the only person stopping that happiness."
You ponder on her words for a while after she leaves, adding little details to your dress. For someone who was acting like this wedding was going to ruin their life, you sure were investing a lot of your free time into it. Maybe Minjeong had gotten into your head; unless you planned to divorce Eunseok (after the 5 year clause, per the contract), you were only going to get married once, so you should at least do it in your style.
Wonbin was right at your engagement party. You'd been planning your wedding since young. You knew exactly which flowers you wanted to adorn the aisle, which flavour of cake you wanted to eat, which song was going to play while you walked down the aisle, and whose eyes you wanted on you on the other side as you did. Eunseok had always been your dream man- he was your first crush, your first love and your first heartbreak all rolled up into one devastatingly handsome package. You imagined him in his crisp suit, laughing through his tears because you just looked so beautiful, and the thought of that takes you out of your fantasy and back into the room that was filled not with tears of happiness, but of silence.
You look down at the ring. The sun is hitting it perfectly, making the diamond shimmer in the beam. You slide it off and inspect the band for the first time, wondering what size he got since you didn't even know your size. Your heart stops when you first notice it. It's so small that if you blinked at that moment, you probably wouldn't have even noticed it and you would've lived the rest of your life not knowing it was there.
You run your nail against the engraving, your breath hitched as you read it.
To the one I'll always choose.
It's always been about choice. This whole time, it's been about your freedom to choose.
You and Eunseok weren't born with the privilege of choosing the one who was going to love you so hard that it would drive you crazy. You were instead born with a silver spoon in your mouth and a signed contract that because your family was going to have a girl first, that girl would be married to the Song's first born when the time came.
There was no question or argument about it. You grew up beside Eunseok knowing you were going to spend the rest of your life together, so you chose to learn everything about him. You chose to learn that he loved playing basketball with his friends and that he became silly and unserious when around them. You chose to learn that he doted on his much younger baby brother and that he would fight anyone and anything that could bring harm to him. You chose to learn that Eunseok had a soft heart that had its very own soft spot reserved just for you- one that grew bigger after your hatred for him did as well.
While you chose to hate Eunseok for rejecting you, he chose to stick by your side anyways. He chose to join you in Oxford, even if most of his friends went to America to study. He chose to live at the block just down the street from yours, so he could walk behind you to lectures and check that you were okay every day without overwhelming you. He chose to sleep on hard floors and wake up with kinks in his neck because he chose to sing you to sleep while you were drunk and then refused to leave to sleep in a nice bed so he could watch over you and protect you in your state. He chose to take on a job in New York for two years instead of joining his father's company straight out of business school so that you had someone to accompany you on your midnight walks through New York City. He chose to give you the choice to leave if marrying him was truly a burden you couldn't bear, because your happiness was the grand reward of the consequences that he would bear in your place.
When you chose to hate him, Eunseok let love grow in the emptiness that you left behind instead. He would choose you a million times over and over again until the day you'd finally see it. Your hatred for the situation stemmed from the fact that you thought your choices were stripped away in being arranged to marry. You wanted Eunseok to love you not because he had to, but because it was his choice to.
You were too blind by your rage to see that Eunseok had been choosing you over and over again not because of the arrangement, but in spite of it. That was the greatest love of them all.
-
On the next sunny day, Eunseok joins you on the bench in the middle of the rose garden. You'd been sketching up ideas on how you want the aisle to look like. You were thinking light flowers along the bottom with candles dispersed to illuminate it. In your dreams, you'd get married at sunset in a glass pavilion that could hold only your closest friends and families. As the sun started dipping, the candles would take over as the source of light and bathe everyone in a soft, golden glow. In your dreams, the light would reflect onto Eunseok's face, highlighting his sharp cheekbones and large, round eyes that were peering down into yours.
"What did you call me over for?" Eunseok sits on his hands and looks around. It's spring time and the garden is at its most vibrant and beautiful.
You hold out your hand in front of you, "I found the engraving on the ring."
Eunseok takes a sharp breath in, "Ah you did?"
"Did you not want me to see it?"
"I had just hoped that whenever you did see it, you would believe it," Eunseok whispered, "It's true, by the way."
"I know," your response has Eunseok turning his head so fast it almost gives him whiplash.
"You do?"
"Mhm. You chose to follow me around the world despite me hating you and you having to give up on your dream schools just so you could try to prove yourself to me. You chose to keep giving me gifts on birthdays when we were abroad since my family often couldn't make it. You always choose me. Why?"
"In part to make amends for the mistake I made when I was young pushing away your feelings like that without thought," Eunseok explained, "But for the most part because I care about you and I want to make the best of a bad situation we're in. I know that no one wants to be in an arranged marriage. I just wanted to show you that I could give you the life you wanted. That you could be happy with me."
Your heart aches at his words as you realise how truly misguided your perception of him was. You had thought that he was following you around to torment you and to remind you that you could never be free, but all this time, he was letting you live your dreams and staying by your side to show that he was supporting you.
"I've treated you so badly over the years and you still want to marry me?" you meet his eyes that have been trained on you since the moment he sat down.
Eunseok giggles and reaches up his warm palm to your cold face, "Hm, your words are harmless Y/N. You've shown your affection to me in other ways; I know you love me."
You roll your eyes and push his hand away, "In your dreams, Song."
"Mhm, actually in your dreams," Eunseok teases, "Considering you've been dreaming about marrying me for 10 years."
"And I don't know why. I must be sick in the head for that. Did you hit me in the head when we were young or something?" you retort, trying to move away from him.
Eunseok lets out a full-bodied laugh that sends butterflies through you instead of the burning rage that usually ensued whenever he was having fun in front of you. He stretched his arm around you behind the bench and pulled you closer to him, "Just admit it, Y/N. Everyone knows you've had a fat crush on me since we were teens and it's only ever grown. There's a very, very fine line between love and hate."
"I still hate you," you grumble, "This doesn't mean anything."
Eunseok drops his head down, pushing your head into his shoulder. Your first instinct is to recoil away and grimace, but Eunseok's grip on your shoulder is tight, so you try to relax in his hold.
"You'll always be my girl, Y/N. You just have to accept that."
You hum and watch the bees buzz around the rose garden, "I've always wanted the whole ordeal- the crushing, the pining, the courting, going on dates, having your firsts, moving in together, proposing how you want. I feel like that was taken away from me before I even knew what they were and even if we do those things, how would I know what's real and what's fake? What you're doing because of me and what you're doing because of the arrangement- that kind of stuff."
Eunseok's heartbeat is slow and strong, "The arrangement only brought us to each other. How can I make you believe that everything I do for you is because I want to?"
"How about we start with when you rejected me and left poor little 16 year old me heartbroken?"
Eunseok scoffs, "Y/N, I was stupid, okay? It was a mistake, I was young and I was too blind to see what was in front of me. You were still special to me back then and I have always cared for you, but I didn't know what I wanted back then. I grew up and haven't looked back since."
"And the girls you brought around at university?"
"Because you were demanding that I dated other people," Eunseok rolls his eyes, thinking about your past explosive arguments about relationships, "I just went on dates here and there, but never anything serious. I always let them know that I couldn't commit, but you know there was a line wrapping around Oxford wanting to date me."
You chuckle at that. Everyone was falling over their feet for the chance to get just a second of Song Eunseok's time, the same way he was doing to you. He was incredibly popular and girls would approach you to ask you to set them up, but you would always growl and send them on their way.
"You were only the most eligible bachelor because you're the son of the third richest family in Korea," you sneer, jokingly.
"And I'm handsome, charming, intelligent and kind," Eunseok lists off his traits on his fingers, "But everyone knows you've always had my heart."
"I don't know if I can believe that."
He shrugs simply beside you, "Doesn't matter. I can show you now."
"What?"
"We can date from now on. I'll show you how I feel. Then in one year's time, you'll be gladly getting married to me instead of having to be dragged up the aisle kicking and screaming by your family," he says it so casually that you question if the shocked reaction you're having is the abnormal one.
"Date?" you splutter out, completely bewildered, pulling away from him, "Us two? Now?"
"Why are you saying it like it's crazy? I basically just confessed to you," Eunseok crosses his arms in front of his chest and tilts his head in confusion, "Are you rejecting me? Is this payback?"
You wave your hand in dismissal, "Yah, you're really confusing me here, Eunseok. I don't know what I'm feeling right now."
He laughs again, and he's glad that he can finally laugh with you for the first time in years. He takes your hand between his and squeezes assuringly, "It's okay. We can figure it out together as we go. Just stay by my side, okay?"
You sigh into the breeze. The air was crisping up as the sky began to illuminate in visions of pink and purple. You look over at Eunseok and the reflection of the sun makes his eyes look iridescent. One thing you've always known about Eunseok is that with him, you felt safe, so you nod and squeeze his hand back, "Yeah."
˗ˏˋ જ⁀➴ ˎˊ˗
The first time you saw Eunseok again after your undergraduate graduation, it was in New York City at the end of summer.
You had spent the entire summer travelling nearly every country in Europe with your friends, while Eunseok was forced to come home and start learning how to actually work in his father's company before he started his role at the New York branch. You were glad to have this summer without him considering the two of you spent your summers together as children and as teens, your friendship groups overlapped so you also had to hang out with him.
There were endless boxes in your apartment since decorating your space was one of your life's great pleasures. The boxes were organised by room and had been shipped out from England at the start of the summer when you moved out. They'd been collecting dust, so all your windows were thrown open in the summer heat to air out the apartment and the dust. Of course you had AC, but there was something about the noise of the city traffic and the hustle and bustle travelling up to your apartment that made you feel like you were truly in the city.
The knock on your door made you groan instantly and you had to suppress the urge of banging your head into the coffee table you were decorating. You took small and slow steps to the front door, but the pattering on the door wasn't letting up.
"Already here to bother me on my first day? It's only been like 3 hours since I got off the plane," you sighed as you came face to face with your dreaded fiancé.
Eunseok rolled his eyes and pushed past your shoulders into your kitchen, "I know you missed me. I brought takeout since you probably haven't eaten and don't have any food yet." Eunseok held up a bag of his favourite Korean food in the city and placed it on your dining table, dishing out the styrofoam boxes.
He arrived in the city a week and a half before you did, moving into the apartment across the hall so he had been able to get himself settled into both his job and his city before you came to rain down terror on him.
"What makes you think I want to eat with you?"
"I bought it, so I'm gonna eat it. Up to you if you wanna starve or not," Eunseok shrugged, already making himself comfy in one of your expensive dining chairs. He took out some plastic cutlery from the bag and began to dig in to the beef bibimbap he had ordered for himself. There was another few boxes of food in the bag, all of which smelling amazing and instantly causing your stomach to grumble.
Sheepishly, you took the seat across from him and scavenged through the food. He had ordered you some tteokbokki and a stew with some rice. Either he knew you too well or it was a lucky guess. For the sake of your heart, you settled on the latter choice.
The two of you ate in silence for a while, not really looking up at each other and just staring passively at your food. Silence was few and far between when it came to you and Eunseok. It was always hushed arguing or full blown insulting between the two of you no matter where you went or how inappropriate it may have seemed to others. You were sure there were rumours that the two of you didn't always get on despite being photographed together so often, but your families' PR teams were experts in mangling all those 'rumours'.
You broke the silence first, "How's the new job?"
The heir in front of you coughs and looks at you strangely, as if he couldn't believe you would ask him that, "It's... work. Not horrible and met a couple friendly colleagues. Having this job does make me feel so grown up and responsible, though," after the initial shock of you initiating a conversation, Eunseok began blabbering about his new position at his family's company.
"Well then hopefully it makes you more mature," you snide.
Eunseok scoffed, "Trust me, Y/N, when I say that I'm the more mature one out of us. You'll find out what I mean one day."
"If you were mature enough, you'd know to oppose this crazy marriage with me," you turned your head away from him, feeling the anger bubble up again.
"And it's because I'm mature enough that I'm not," he shrugged, "Unlike you, I don't think this marriage will be the worst thing that can happen to me."
"I'm honoured," you retorted, "I don't know why you think that when all I've done is make your life difficult. Why would you think I can't continue for the rest of our lives?"
He smiled coyly at you, pushing a drink that appeared in the bag towards you, "You'll get tired, sweetheart. Then you'll fall in love with me."
You feel sick at how he's all entirely wrong. Despite that, you appreciate how he's always able to diffuse any tension between the two of you even if his words are always cocky and arrogant. z
You don't say anything to him for a long while. When you finished up your food in silence, he packed everything anyway and placed it in the correct bins. Wordlessly, he began to unpack your boxes with you, unwrapping everything bubble wrapped and placing it on the kitchen counters for you to organise. You would have protested this act of service, but he's right- fighting him all the time does get tiring.
In this light from the living room as the sun setting made your apartment glow and burst with light, Eunseok looks radiant. You hope he can't see you admiring him from the next room. It's almost as if you're a normal couple, moving into their first home and starting their new life together. It's a melancholy sight as you ponder the what if's.
He breaks down all of your boxes flat, humming to himself a song that you think you've heard at the end of parties when you'd be sat on someone's bedroom floor just talking or playing cards half-drunk. Eunseok turned his head towards you and you whipped your head away so fast it hurts your neck.
"You still have this?" he held up a mug that instantly flashed you back to 6 years ago. The mug is majority a light pink and wonky in places since you made it yourself from clay. It was a few months process making and painting the mug, but when you were 15 with the biggest crush on him, having a mug brandishing "Y/N + EUNSEOK" on it made you feel giddy inside.
"All my other mugs broke," you lied through your teeth, snatching it from his grip and placing it in a random empty cupboard, "My mother packed it for me when I moved to Oxford."
"Mhm, okay," you could tell he was smirking but you made yourself busy with the plates, "I'm gonna take the boxes down to the recycling. Do you want any more help?"
"I've had enough of you for today," you breathed out. Too much time with him truly drove you crazy, "But thanks."
"Anytime, princess. I'm just across the hall if you need me and I'll get your number whenever you get it set up." he wiped his hands on his jeans and have you that charming smile that made you fall in the first place.
You see him out wordlessly. You don't argue when he turns up the next day demanding for your number in case you ever needed anything from him (or if he wanted to come and bother you). You feign annoyance when one morning he's insisting that he ran out of coffee in his apartment and wanted some of yours. You leave him in your apartment because you were running late to class, but when you get home, you open the cupboard and try not to fall all over again when you see a matching, much lumpier, handmade blue mug that brandished the words "TO FOREVER <3" on it next to yours.

You're tossing and turning in your seat as Eunseok shakes you gently. He laughs when you groan under your breath as he wakes you up, "Sit up. We're landing soon."
The sleep you got on the flight was long, but you still woke up incredibly tired since you kept getting woken up for meals. You were grateful that you could fly first class with separate seats and beds, otherwise you'd be much more groggy than you already were.
Buckling yourself in the seat next to Eunseok's, you yawn, "Eunseok, what the fuck is an engagement trip?"
"A trip celebrating our engagement, duh," he looks at you like you're stupid, so you shove him as hard as your tired body could muster, "Like a honeymoon but before. Never too many excuses to take a vacation. Plus, we're going to be busy this trip."
You've never taken a vacation with just Eunseok before. Sure, you've lived in three different countries together outside of Korea and gone on a couple of vacations as children and with a large group of friends, but never just the two of you with a purpose.
"I don't understand why our wedding planner couldn't just pick a venue for herself and call it a day. Why must we go all the way to Italy and do it ourselves?" you're up to your neck in work, but you couldn't protest when you found a week blocked off in your calendar by your assistant, telling you it was 'orders from above' AKA your father.
"It was my idea," he confesses with a shrug, "Won't it be nice if we actually like where we're getting married? If we chose it ourselves because we can see ourselves getting married there?"
It feels like your heart is clenching at the insinuations behind his words. He wants to get involved with your wedding planning, like it's a real wedding. You sniff and turn away from him. It is a real wedding, you remind yourself. You were going to get married legally and this wedding was real, no matter the intention behind it. No matter if you loved or hated each other, it was a real wedding.
"Yeah. Everywhere in Italy is nice so at leadt it'll be a good trip," the past couple of months since you've been officially engaged to Eunseok, you've been attempting to be nicer and hold back your retorts. You've made an effort to argue less and he's been trying to get on your good side. You've both been busy with work considering the news of the merger brought a whole new wave of problems, so you've had no time to interrogate his profession to "date" you. Thank gosh, because your heart would not be able to take that.
The plane lands soon enough and before you know it, you're in a private car going to your hotel. You were staying in Milan, but driving around Lake Como and Tuscany to tour the list of potential venues that your wedding planner had come up with. You were definitely going to be exhausted by the end of it.
The drive was relatively silent, just listening to music and looking out of the window, but when you arrive at the hotel, Eunseok opens the car door for you and snakes his arm around your waist as you walk up to the front desk, "Hello. We're checking in to the penthouse suite. For Song?"
The hotel clerk smiles sweetly, handing over your keys swiftly, "All ready for you both, Mr Song. Congratulations on your engagement."
You're spluttering a thank you with flushed cheeks as Eunseok drags you over to the elevator, "You told them?"
"I just wanted the free champagne that I assume will be up there," he grins cheekily and you roll your eyes. As if he couldn't afford it.
You are however delighted to find a small cake beside the bucket of ice cold champagne and you dig into the red velvet goodness as you watch Eunseok open up your suitcases and hang your clothes up in the master bedroom wardrobe meticulously. You're halfway into the cake when he drags his suitcases out of the room.
"Wait, where are you going?" you frown.
Eunseok snickers, "To the other bedroom? Why? Do you want me to stay with you?"
"Oh. I just didn't know there were two rooms." you say sheepishly.
Eunseok stops in his tracks, hand on his suitcase loosening, "So you went into this trip okay with the thought of sleeping with me? If so, I'll stay here with you then."
"No!" you call out, "Just- just shut up and go."
The smirk on his face is smug as he nods and continues his leave, "Alright, sweetheart, but let me know if you get nightmares and want company."
You bear the butter knife at him and he laughs melodically on his way out. You pop the champagne yourself and drown a glass down, hoping you'd be able to make it out the trip unscathed. He's running into the room with a pout after hearing the loud pop of the corkscrew, so you pour the both of you a glass and you clink them together as you chugged them back.
The days pass by similarly. You wake up and have breakfast together before embarking on a sleepy drive to a venue. You have lunch in endless terraces and gardens under the sun, basking in the heat and evaluating the venue you saw that morning. You both ooh and ahh at different venues that all look the same before you find a flaw in it that stops you from making the decision to host one of the most important days of your lives there. Some are too big, some too small, too pretentious, not pretty enough, the flowers aren't the ones you envisioned, the location too secluded or not enough. You always agree on the flaws of the venues and it's the penultimate full day when you make it to the final venue on the list.
"If I don't like this venue then I'm not marrying you," you huff in the car as it pulls up the driveway.
"Who knew wedding venues were so complicated?" Eunseok exhales in frustration, "Should we just get married in Seoul?"
You puff out your lips, "Italy was always my dream, but I was naive to the process."
Eunseok smiles and takes your hand, "I have faith in this one. At least I hope." The commitment he has to giving you your dream wedding despite it all is unwavering.
When you enter the final venue, you think that maybe it was the last on the list for a reason, since you're blown away every step you take through the grounds. The hallways to the main room is ornate and delicate at the same time, with pretty floral paintings wrapping the walls and big windows letting in the golden light. The room where your reception could be held is stunning with murals all over the walls and a dome ceiling that compliments it perfectly. It's neither too big, nor too small and there's little nooks and crannies for guests to nestle themselves in. You could see yourself in the middle, slow dancing with your head on your husband's shoulder.
"This is nice," Eunseok awes, coming up behind you with the grounds manager, "Very pretty."
You nod in agreement and ask to see the gardens, since you always wanted to get married outside in the sun. The manager gushes over the outside while she leads you out and your heart is pounding in anticipation. Eunseok probably guessed how giddy you were, because he joins you by your side and gives you a hopeful look.
"We're here. Most brides start from here and have the aisle straight down to the arch."
She throws open the double doors and you gasp in admiration at the sight in front of you. The stairs going down to the garden seen steep, but grand. You envision that your father could probably help you hobble down to the garden, where it was staged as a wedding venue. There's chairs laid out in rows, decorated in tulle and bows with an aisle adorned in flowers. At the end of the garden, there's an arch with vines wrapped around it and flowers creeping up. From where you were standing, you could see that this garden was actually on a balcony overlooking a lake that seemed to be glowing and sparkling as the slight wind caused some ripples on the surface
"I'll give you two some time to explore?" she proposes, to which Eunseok nods and wraps his hand around your wrist, tugging you down the stairs.
"First impressions?" he's looking around with blown out pupils as the two of you reach the bottom of the stairs and the beginning of the aisle.
"I like this one a lot," you shyly admit, "It's exactly what I imagined."
"I love it as well. Why don't you walk down the aisle and see how you feel. Imagine yourself on the day," he's taking off in front of you, running swiftly to the arch before you could even take a breath and get a word out.
At his antics, you let out a full-belly laugh and straighten out the ivory dress you happened to be wearing. You look down at the slip dress hitting your ankles and think it might be fate you chose to wear this specific dress on this specific day. You look up and find Eunseok suddenly frozen still at the other end, hands intertwined in front of him and his eyes trained solely on you.
When he notices that you meet his eyes, he gives you a gentle smile as he mouths to you, "Come here."
It takes you a few breaths to actually muster up the courage to follow his direction. You think that walking down a straight path shouldn't be such a big deal, but the thought that this could be the very steps you take to marry the same man at the end in less than a year's time strikes your heart.
The aisle is a soft and smooth stone, perfect for walking on in high heels. It's wide enough that a wedding dress wouldn't drag along the sides and knock over the flowers and long enough for anticipation to build as Eunseok gazes down at you from afar.
"Y/N," Eunseok calls over.
You take the first step and your breath catches in your throat. All you can look at is Eunseok now, with his shirt unbuttoned at the first three to expose some chest and his hair falling over his eyes. He keeps fidgeting with his fingers, as if he couldn't stand still and his lips are puckering and stretching as if he had much more to say.
The second step is easier than the first and the third one even more so. By the fifth step, Eunseok is chewing on his bottom lip and you're ridden with anticipation to meet him at the end.
With each step you take down the aisle, you're flashed back to all the crucial moments in your life with Song Eunseok so far.
You were sandbox best friends. You learned to walk together, and then ride bikes with each other. You learned to swim in the same swimming pool that still remained in your garden. You learned to ski and snowboard with each other in the blustery mountains of the alps. You were each other's first heartbreaks when you were teens. You took your first alcoholic drink together with your friends by the Han river, faces flushed red and hearts beating out of your chests at the prospect of getting caught. You got blackout drunk together for the first time during your first week of university. You posed together as you threw your graduation caps up in the air at the end of the three years. You chased each other around New York City, running around in blocks after he snatched your phone from your grasp when you would ignore him. You begrudgingly invited him to ride swan paddle boats with you in every lake and river around the city since he was the only person that would drop everything for you at a moment's notice. You would leave containers of home cooked food outside his doors when you noticed he was getting swamped with work, knowing he had the tendency to either order too much unhealthy takeout or stop eating altogether when busy.
With every step you take to meet Eunseok at the bottom of the aisle, you accept that Eunseok has been with you for every step of your life.
He's an arm's length away when you notice his eyes are glossier than usual. Eunseok refuses to break the stare between the two of you as you arrive in front of him, exactly where you would stand under the arch if you got married at this very space.
"Are you crying?" you whisper, afraid of your own voice.
He chortles and dabs at his eyes, "It's just the wind."
"Mhm," you hum, fighting back the smile threatening to expose your emotions, "What do you think?"
Eunseok takes a bold step towards you and closes the gap between your bodies. He's closer than you've ever had him and you can nearly feel his breath on your skin. It's making you dizzy but all you can do is keep your eyes on him.
"Eunseok," you murmur in a hushed tone.
His head is drifting closer down to yours, forehead nearly touching. If you moved your face even just by a centimetre, your noses would bump and you knew you wouldn't be able to stop yourself.
"Let's get married here," Eunseok nudges his face forwards. You have to stop yourself from pulling back even with the drumming in your chest, "You're going to look so beautiful. You do already."
"I like this place. Our parents would like it here too."
Eunseok's eyes flutter shut as he sighs and shakes his head gently, "No, let's get married here because we want to, not because our parents would like it. Let's get married because we want to."
"Eunseok," his name falls out of your mouth like it's the most sacred word you can say.
His forehead is still pressed against yours, his eyes squeezed tight and his palm comes up to make home on your cheek, "I love you. I always have."
Sincerity drips from his words and you know that this time, it's the real thing. It's the words you'd been dying to hear him say sincerely for a decade. It's the words that underlined every fight and argument you've had as adults. He finally and bravely bares his heart to you for the first time, still considerate as he always had been by giving you the choice to determine what will end up of the two of you.
There's something different about his profession of love after all you'd experienced together. Back then, when you confessed that you liked him, the world would probably say it was just some puppy love- a silly high school crush. Something that would fizzle over and dissolve when you would experience the real hardships of life and what it could throw at you. You think that a late confession carries a profound and heartfelt meaning like no other.
"Seok-"
He cuts you off before you could finish, pulling away from you and causing you to open your eyes, "I don't need an answer yet, Y/N. I just need you to know that I want to be with you. I want to be your boyfriend, your husband, your partner- whatever you want me to be. I want to make you only happy from now on, instead of angry or resentful. I want to be by your side and keep following you around the world. I want everything with you."
You've never felt more sure of anything else in the world when you bounce up on your tiptoes and capture his face between your hands, pressing your lips against his. It feels like every nerve ending in your body is on fire, but at the same time feeling relief as if this was the one thing in the world that could finally relieve you from all the anger and bitterness you had been displaying and trying to internalise for all these years. Deep down, you could never ever hate Song Eunseok, the boy who has had your heart since you were just young.
He's rigid for a split second while he processes your own confession, but he quickly regains enough composure to part his lips and deepen the kiss, moulding your lips to each other's. It's unlike anything he's ever felt before and he finally understood the real pleasure of kissing someone you really love. As he runs his tongue along your bottom lip, Eunseok knows that he could do this for the rest of his life.
"Song Eunseok, I love you too," your eyes are glistening with adoration as you pull away from his kiss, "Let's get married?"
When he finally looks you in the eye at the moment you give yourself back to him, he can't help the tears that finally break free from their barrier. He's laughing as he finally pulls you to his chest, wrapping his arms around your body in desperation of keeping you close to him. You nuzzle deeper into him and he tucks his head into your neck. His body is shaking with the laughter of relief and his heartstrings tug when he feels his shirt dampening at the exact spot where your face laid.
"You're the one I'll always choose to love," he coo's into your ear words that travel straight into your heart, "For the rest of my life, for the rest of yours."
You look down at your hand and breathe deeply as the ring glistens on your finger. The Italian sun makes it shine bright as the symbol of your love. You start thinking of what you want to engrave on the inside of the ring that you want to get him. You start thinking of the dress and suit you'll be wearing at this very spot soon enough. You're dreaming of the house you move into together and of the company you'll spearhead by each other's side. You fantasise over your future kids- the kids you hope will have his eyes and your nose. You yearn for the life you know Eunseok will give you and your heart is finally at peace, knowing it will always be him.

NOBODY BETTER THAN YOU! - eunseok.🍨🦷🐆🍦 t(>.<t)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In which your boyfriend you recently just got back together with is coming over for the first time since.
bf!eunseok x fem loser!reader
toxic relationship, fluff, angst, smut! suggestions to the reader having depression (NOT ROMANIZING.) suggested cheating. etc..
so many things inspired/helped me make this so I’m just gonna . @melobin and @anquelic on insta and my playlist below took inspo from there too <33 lol!
“Eunseoks here…” one of your roommates sneered from the other side of the door you could almost feel the face they gave eachother. You hop up and rush to open your door with a wide smile on your face “Hey baby” your boyfriend, walking towards you, a hand in one pocket and a bag of Burger King in the other an extremely attractive smile on his face “hii” you practically melted pulling him into your room and hugging him tight.
“Please don’t fuck yet! Give it a week!”
“shut the fuck up!”
He chuckled kissing your forehead and pinching your sides, you loved it when he did that, made you feel so safe you could practically feel your heart melt watching his movements as he placed the bag on your table.
That feeling goes away in an instant as you watch him sigh as he moves some of your clutter to the side. This made your heart flutter with sadness and your brain go a bit fuzzy.
He understands you more than anybody really, he’s patient and he does seem to care for you, he understood all those months before you guys were ever official you’d disappear trying to decide if he’s the one and if you should give him the chance.
He understood the nights where you’d just sit in silence not wanting to be touched or talked to, and he understood the nights you guys would be talking like normal only for you to start crying out of nowhere, or the nights you’d scream and push him losing your temper only to end up in his arms letting him watch you crumble under him. “It’s okay baby, it’s okay I've got you, doing so well for daddy” “‘m not mad at you, okay pretty, it's okay”. He understood the nights when you were finally your silly self after spending a weekend alone.
He understood all your quirks and interests. Once he dragged you to one of his sets because he remembered someone working on it had a dog who understood multiple languages, remembering your rather odd fascination with it how. can they do that? And watching as you said sit to the dog in Spanish, French, and Japanese, complete shock and happiness painted on your face as you laughed and laughed, adoration painted on his.
So how is it that you caught him multiple times all over the girl, the same girl he had a pass with, rumor has it they were “casually” sleeping together before you ever entered the picture you know it was deeper than that. To him “it wasn’t that big of a deal and he was just being nice.” You had to constantly shift your morals just so you could be happy with him, he knew you hated it, he knew the disgust you felt with yourself every time you’d go back with him. But you loved him so it's alright.
You knew the irritation and anger that bubbled up inside of him when you'd ask “Are you unhappy in our relationship?” or “Am I annoying you? I'm sorry” but he loves you so he's got to deal with it, right?
And no matter how many times you believed he cheated he was stable, nothing in your life is stable but him. So maybe that’s why you feel you always go back to him. And only him. Because, to you, there's nobody better than him.
He turned to you already able to read your face “It's alright, today's our lazy Sunday isn't it? We'll clean a bit tomorrow but for now, cmere let's lie down”
The smile that was once on your face came back and you gladly took his hand as he led you to your bed and cozy. Watching some of your favorite horror movies and munching on Burger King you between his legs a hands squishing your thighs and head dropping down to your neck every now and then to suck a hickey at your favorite spots your hands would grab at his knees as you whimper and giggle. “quit it, they’re finally escaping”. He'd quietly pout and slightly rut his hips up against you visibly hard.
{2:49 am}
Your eyes meet your boyfriends and grab at his hand that's hitching up your inner thigh, yours visibly smaller “Should we play some-” he smashed his lips against yours, your first actual kiss of the night “fuck I know we said we wouldn't do anything, but shit you look so good, sound so good, need to fuck my babies in you, make you mine forever” he grabbed at your neck and slid it down to your arm, manhandling you under him.
You could only submit to him, knowing this would have happened by the end of the “night”.
“Can’t believe I spent so many Sundays without you, felt so wrong, I’ve missed you so much” he'd moan against your lips grabbing at your thighs and aggressively pushing them up as he grinds against you, whimpers slipping out of you “missed you so much more” you’d whisper mind going elsewhere remembering exactly why you spent so many night away from each other’s grasp.
“Let me fuck away all that nonsense, only have you think about this cock” as if he could read your mind “please”.
And just like that he’d do exactly what he said.

i’m in love with the antinitonny, can you do long anton fic? 🥺
Memories | L. Anton
Tumblr media
Summary: it's the last summer before you start college and you and you plan to make the most of it. Word count: 15k Pairing: Anton x Reader Genre: friends to lovers. Fluff. Angst. Suggestive. Warnings: mentions of sex, mentions of drugs and alcohol. maybe some cuss words, slow burn. (like extremely slow)
Youth. The stage of life where you're bound to make mistakes, and memories. You meet the people you’re gonna spend the rest of your life with, and learn valuable lessons to teach when you’re old and bound to a rocking chair.
Adults always tell you to enjoy your youth and for once you actually plan on listening to them.
“Eunseoks here.” You run down the stairs after seeing his car pull into the driveway from the window of your room. “He’s here,” You yell once again, heading towards the kitchen where your mom is.
Before you could yell again, He and Sungchan walked through the door, pulling suitcases behind them. You quickly open the fridge and pretend as if you’re completely unaware of their presence.
“Are those my boys?” Your mom asks while walking into the living room to greet them, welcoming them both with a nice warm hug. “Your sister is waiting for you in the kitchen.” You hear her say while eavesdropping on their conversation
“Doesn’t my little sister miss me?” He slightly yells as he walks into the kitchen where you are. It’s been almost 5 months since you last saw your older brother, so yes, of course you miss him. Even if he was annoying and unfun to be around.
“Oh hey, Eunseok, I didn’t know you were here.” You speak nonchalantly. “Really? I saw you peeking from the upstairs window.” He exposes you
“Uh…” You stumble to find anything to say.
“I see you still haven’t changed.” He laughs.
“Why would I change? It's only been five months.” You question while peeling the orange you pulled out of the fridge. “What have you been up to?” he asks as he takes the orange out of your hand to peel for you, because you had a habit of biting your nails so you could never tear the skin to even begin to strip the orange.
“Nothing really, I’ve just been worrying about starting college.” You sigh. “There’s nothing to worry about, You’re smart you’ll be fine. Just remember like I said, don’t fall-” “Fall into the wrong crowd and stay away from drugs.” You finish.
“See you got it.” He congratulates you by handing you back the now naked orange. Eunseok being your older brother,  you always received life talks from him, even if you didn’t know what he was talking about. He took his role very seriously even though he was only 3 years older than you.
“Y/n, How are you?” Sungchan walks in thankfully to redirect the conversation from turning into another unwanted life lesson.
“Sungchan!” you gleam as you head over to him for a small hug. He was as much your friend as he was Eunseoks, the three of you grew up closely together so you could basically just consider him your other brother. “How come I don’t see your boyfriend running around here?” he asks suddenly.
“We aren’t dating, and I don’t know. I guess he’s busy today.”  You shrug your shoulders. As if on cue you hear the doorbell ring and instinctively you know exactly who it is. “Y/N Anton is here.” You hear your mom yell from the living room. You find no use for either of the men in the kitchen anymore as you hurry towards the door to see your best friend of 6 years.
“Hey?” You greet him happily. “Is he here? Well I'm guessing he is. I see his car.” He says shyly
“Just come in dummy.” You roll your eyes and back up from the door so he can fully walk in. He slips his shoes off before he follows you to the kitchen. “Oh there he is.” eunseoks laughs deeply when he addresses Anton. “Hey, you’ve gotten taller?” Sungchan asks while inspecting him. “No.” Anton says, shaking his head. “Are you sure, I don’t remember you being taller than me?” Sungchan adds measuring himself against him.
“You ask this question every time you see him.” you laugh at sungchan, “That’s because he gets taller every time.” Sungchan argues back.
“Shouldn’t you know if he’s gotten taller? He’s your boyfriend.” he teases.
“We’re not dating,” You whine, but it’s not really convincing anyone.
“Yet.” He adds.
“Alright you two.” Eunseok jumps in before you could throw anything at him, like you always do whenever you start arguing with him. “Eunseok, do you know you’re the best brother in the world.” You smile sweetly at him, buttering him up with your fluttering eyelashes.
“What do you want?”
“The keys to your car.” You say without any spaces, still fluttering your eyelashes and holding your hands together. “Pretty pretty please.” You add hoping to persuade him. And you know you’ve done it because he rolls his eyes and pulls the keys out of pocket to dangle them on top of your palms that you have held out for him.
“No-”
“Texting and driving, yes I know.” You say before he tries and sneak in yet another unsolicited life lesson. “And-” “call you if anything happens.” You say in monotone looking off to the side. “Hmm, Maybe I shouldn’t give them to you.” he begins but you stop him to beg. “No please please, I’ll call you if anything happens and I’ll keep my eyes on the road, I won’t even blink.” You plead.
“Woah, but if you don’t blink your eyes will get dry and then yo-” “Shut up idiot.” You slap his arm and turn back to eunseok. “I’ll be careful, I promise.”
“FIne.” he says before he places the keys into your hands. “I expect to see my car in one piece when I wake up in the morning.” “Yes sir.” You nod your head, before grabbing Antons arm and pulling him out of the door.
The two of you end up in a random parking lot staring up at the stars. It’s silent for the first few moments. The only thing playing is the slow music coming from inside the car. There’s not really anything to say, with you and Anton being friends for so long you found that the both of you already knew everything there was to know about each other.
So silences like this were comforting to you. Just being in each other's presence was enough for the both of you. “I love this song.” you say quietly.
“Are you scared?” He ask randomly completely catching you off guard,
“Scared of what?” You finally turn to him. “I don't know, we'll be starting college soon, and I know things are gonna change, I’m just worried we’re gonna grow apart.” He explains.
“We thought this same thing about highschool, and besides look at sungchan and eunseok. They’re still really close.” You say trying to calm his worries.
“But they’re both guys. What happens when we start dating people? And we don’t have time for each other.” He continues, “I don’t know, I’m probably just overthinking.”
“How about this,” You say sitting up to show that you were serious about what you were going to say next. “We make every second of this summer count, that way if college does draw us apart, We’ll still always have memories together.”
“Deal.” He says as he smiles and links his pinky with yours.
Tumblr media
The best way to make memories is to try something you’ve never tried before, and  something that neither you or Anton have ever tried was alcohol. So that seemed like the perfect place to start. Now there was a small dilemma with this, no one in your family were drinkers. So the chances of you getting access to alcohol was extremely slim.
Luckily you had a plan.
“Where are we supposed to get fake IDs from?” Anton asks when you explain to him how the both of you were going to sneak into a bar down in the city. “Where else?” You respond with a smirk that he finds both scary and intriguing.
“Oh hey sungchan.” You say casually as you waltz into the kitchen. “sup.” he bobs his head towards you.
“just out of peak curiosity, you wouldn’t know where to get an ID would you?”
“i might know someone, depending on who’s asking.” he cocks an eyebrow up to you.
“Anton and I just need one for this event that’s happening downtown. Do you think you can get it to us by next week?”
“I can get it to you by tomorrow.” he says
“But Eunseok can’t find out about this.” you make it clear. “Of course not, do you think I'm crazy?” he asks, which warrants you to give him a knowing look. Wondering why’d he’d even ask that question as he was promising to get fake IDs to two 19 year olds.
“Don’t answer that.”
Tumblr media
“When are you gonna start packing up?” Anton asks, looking around at your overly decorated room. There isn’t one empty space on your wall yet you always find space to hang up another poster.
“I don’t know, I might just do what Eunseok did and leave all of this stuff here.”
“Are you sure you can live without your collection?” He asks, pointing to the books you started collecting in middle school and were still accumulating.
“No, those are coming with me.”
“You know, you’re gonna have to move this stuff out eventually right?”
“I know, I’m just not ready to see this room empty again.” You ponder while looking around the room. Something about it just gave you extreme nostalgia, this is where you grew up. This is where you had your first sleepover and where you went when you had your first “heartbreak.” (You sat in your room and cried for days because you didn’t get tickets to see your favorite band.)
So seeing your room empty would really make things reality for you. Things really are changing, time is passing you by and you’re getting older.
“Special delivery.” You don’t have to check to know exactly who’s standing on the other side of the door. Sungchan lets himself in, just as he always does. Butting into your room as if it was his own. “Look what I got?” he holds up a yellow envelope right in front of your eyes.
“What is it?” Anton asks, walking up next to you.
“It’s our ID’s” you answer
“Our fake ones?”
“Shh” you and sungchan both shush him at the same time, and you hurry to close the door before Eunseok could hear anything.
“show me the stuff.” you whisper when Sungchan pulls out the ID and shows it to the both of you.
“Rachel owens?” you ask, looking at your ID. “You can’t reveal your real name. Quickest way to get caught.” he explains
“Okay but I don't know how believable Brad Murray is.” Anton says, still looking at the hard plastic card. “what are they gonna do, tell you you’re wrong.” Sungchan responds
“I don’t know, this whole idea just seems wrong. Maybe we should just wait till we’re of age to drink.” Anton says and it causes you and Sungchan to burst out into a laugh.
“Wait till we’re of age?” you laugh, slapping sungchans arm “Who does this kid think he is?” Sungchan adds.
“Exactly that, a kid. We’re both kids, and we should just be kids.”
“Fine, I'll just go by myself then.” you throw your hands up  and head downstairs with sungchan following you and leaving Anton alone.
“I’m gonna head out.” You say casually passing by your mom and brother.
“you’re leaving, and you didn’t ask for my car?” Eunseok asks
“I won’t need it tonight, I'm taking an uber.”
“an uber, where are you going?” Eunseok asks, stepping up to you. “we’re going to catch a movie, but it’s pretty long so we’ll probably be tired on the way back.” Anton answers for you, thankfully because you were going to just tell him that you were going grocery shopping.
“Oh, Anton's going with you? enjoy your movie then.” You see that Eunseok loosens up when he realizes that Anton's tagging along with you and it makes you question. “Wait why'd you do that?” you turn to Eunseok
“Do what?”
“how come you didn’t ask questions when Anton said he was coming with me?”
“Because I trust anton.”
“you don’t trust me?” You ask genuinely but Anton doesn’t let you stick around to find out the answer because he’s dragging you out of the door. “I don't think he trusts me.” you say again
“he doesn’t, no one does.” Anton states before turning around, closing the door.
“You don’t trust me?” You ask repeatedly, still confused.
“no, that’s why I'm not letting you go out alone.”
you would argue more about how trustworthy you were but you knew that everything you were planning to say would have just been a lie. So you just get in the uber next to Anton and keep your mouth closed the entire ride.
well for most of the ride. “So why don’t you trust me?” you ask when everyone’s dead silent. “We’re going to a bar with Fake IDs. and whose idea was this?” he states and it pretty much sums up everything for you
“That's fair.” you shake your head
“Why do I let you drag me into these kinds of things?” He looks out of the window and you turn to him. “You dragged yourself into this.”
“I miss when we used to stay up playing mario kart, now we’re sneaking out to bars.” He sighs dramatically
“We just played mario karts an hour ago.”  you remind him
“and i wanna go back.”
“I didn't force you to come with me anton.”
“as the oldest of the two of us, it’s my duty to make sure that you’re safe.”
“you’re only older by a few weeks.” you say
“I still need to make sure you stay safe.”
“If I wanted a bodyguard I would’ve just invited eunseok.”
“Alright then, let’s call him up.” Anton says as he pulls out his phone to call your brother. Before he even unlocks it you feel your heart drop and you smack the phone out of his hand causing it to drop on the floor.
He looks at the phone then he looks at you. “Why would you do that?”
"If Eunseok finds out about this he’ll kill me. I’ll never be allowed to touch his car again, he’ll never shut up about it. he’ll make me show up to college wearing a shirt that says, “I’m an underage drinker.” he’ll ground me for years.”
“You should’ve thought about that before you decided to go out and get us fake IDs.” He snaps back while bending over to pick his phone up off the floor.
“I just want us to do something different and new. Before we lose each other forever.” You force your voice to get lower, knowing that he’ll feel bad and lay off your case.
“We won’t lose each other forever, we’ll always be friends.”
“But we won’t be best friends. We've always wanted to get drunk together, this might be the last time we ever get to do that.” You mumble while looking out the window for dramatic effect.
“We’ve never talked about getting drunk together.”
“But we’ve always thought about it.”
“I’ve always thought about playing mario karts for 24 hours straight.”
Hearing his response catches you off guard, you completely forget that you were trying to emotionally manipulate him out of snitching to Eunseok. He notices when you slowly turn your head and side eye him. “Mario Karts?”
“You know what, maybe it’s a good thing we aren’t gonna be friends for long.” You add before he can say anything.
“This is why your brother trusts me more than he trust you.” he spits back
“You think that’s a flex? it just makes you boring.”
“You think I’m boring?" He asks aggressively.
‘I do. We all do.”
“Who’s we?” he pipes up.
“Me, sungchan, the uber driver.” You suddenly point to the man who’s been minding his business throughout the whole ride.
“You think I’m boring?” Anton looks away from you and to the man. “I don’t know you, but you sound very unfun to be around.” The unnamed speaks calmly while keeping his eyes on the road.
“Unfun?” Anton asks again.
“That’s what he said.” you chuckle
“I’m not unfun!” He pouts, leaning back in his seat with his arms crossed. You’re too amused to really argue back with him.
The rest of the car goes quiet yet again until Anton speaks up once more. “I hope you can hold your alcohol because I won't be carrying you back home.”
“I can hold my alcohol” you say confidently although you’re really unsure, since you’ve never had any alcoholic drinks.
The line to the club is just like you saw in the movies. It’s so long you think about just turning around and going back but Anton is still on his quest to prove just how fun he is, which is why he forces you to stand in the line with him. Until the both of you are face to face with a 7-foot-tall security guard who looks like he eats 5 dozen raw eggs and a horse for breakfast.
“IDs.” is all he says but it has your heart beating outside of your chest. Both of you are hesitant to pull out the fakes you have in your wallet. Yet, you still pull yours out first and show it to the man, Anton following your lead.
“This looks like a fake.” he says bluntly.
“A fake? ID? I didn’t even know those were real things.”
“Obviously they're not real, that’s the problem.” Anton begins to start yet another argument with you; however he’s quickly hushed when the security guard yells “Brad.” and Anton begins looking around trying to find out who he’s talking about. To which you just facepalm and whisper “He’s talking to you idiot.”
“Oh right, I’m Brad. Brad Murray, that’s me.” he straightens up.
It’s painfully obvious that the both of you are lying that you don’t even try to hide it anymore. With the security guard looking down at both of you, you’re sure he’s gonna turn you away but he just sighs and passes your IDs back.
“They don’t pay me enough for this.” he mumbles as he opens the rope to let you and Anton in. The music aggressively meets your ears before you even walk into the building. And you can smell the extreme scents of alcohol and whatever it is that people are doing inside of the place.
“Are you sure you wanna do this?” stop in front of Anton, contemplating just going home. “Do you wanna go home?” He asks, and something about hearing him say makes you realize that’s not what you want to do. So you grab his hand and guide him all the way into the club where you could fully hear the music.
It’s so loud that you can feel it through your feet. There's so much going on you don’t even know where to start, and the flashing lights are starting to make you dizzy. But it all excites you, the music, the lights, the alcohol everything is so exciting to you.
“Let’s get drunk.” You yell to Anton first, but you don’t get a chance to go anywhere because he’s pulling you back by the hand that you still have intertwined with him. “Call me boring and unfun but I still don’t think this is a good idea.”
“Well then you don’t have to drink.” You state before attempting to walk away again but he just pulls you right back, not letting you step away. “I don’t want you to either.”
“Okay I won’t.”
“You promise?” he holds his pinky finger out to you, but you only stare at it. Pinky promises were very dear to the both of you, in the 6 years that you’ve been friends neither of you have ever broken a pinky promise. And You knew that if you made this promise, you very well didn’t have the intentions on keeping it.
“I promise.” You say looking off to the side, and failing to link pinkies with his.
It doesn’t go unnoticed by him as he nudges his finger out to you so you can solidify the promise. “Come one Anton, just this one time.” Staring at him until he finally gives in and sighs.
“Only one drink.’ He states firmly holding up his index finger to really drive his point. “Okay, fine. Only one.”
30 minutes had passed and you had drunk way more than the both of you agreed on, in fact you had sweet talked some random man at the bar into paying for your drinks. Completely missing the look that Anton gives you every time you take another sip.
Despite his annoyance with you, he still hasn’t let go of your hand. No matter how many times you tried to yank your hand away from him. Or tried talking and flirting with guys around you. He’d just pull you back towards him and claim you as his girlfriend so they wouldn’t try and take the initiative to flirt back.
“Isn’t this fun?” you slur resting your face against his back because you had lost your balance to stand up straight. “Are you having fun?” he asks, flipping the question back around on you.
“Mm hmm.” You bounce your head up and down. “Lots of fun.”
“How much have you had to drink?” He asks, already knowing the answer but wanting to make sure that you were keeping up with the amount of alcohol you were consuming. “I had umm 3.” you stumble in front of him and hold three fingers up with a big smile.
“No, you had this many.” He corrects while pulling up 7 more of your fingers.
“10?”
“It’s time to get you home.”
“I’m not ready to go home.” you state while trying to wobble away from him, when you do you walk face first into some random man's chest and giggle when you fall into his arms. “Hi, wow you’re tall.”
Anton thinks about just leaving you to face your own consequences but quickly changes his mind once he notices the strange man's hand placements and weird smile. There weren’t enough signs to show that he had bad intentions until he slipped his hands over your back jeans pockets and whispered something in your ear. That’s when Anton finally made the decision to jump in.
“Sorry about her, she’s really drunk right now.” Anton politely speaks while pulling one of your arms so you could go back towards him.
“She doesn’t seem too drunk.” The man says with his arm loosely around your waist.
“She’s 19.” Anton adds hoping that it’d be enough to pull the man off of you.
“Even better.”
He had to protect you, that’s what he kept telling himself the whole ride home. He did it to protect you, any other normal person would’ve also resorted to violence if their best friend was being inappropriately touched by a man almost twice her age.
He shouldn’t really feel bad, he knew you weren’t gonna remember anything when you woke up in the morning. You weren’t gonna remember how many drinks you had, or how you got home. And you definitely weren’t gonna remember how his knuckles got all bloody and bruised.
You turn onto your side and curve into a ball when he lays his blanket over top of you. It’s pretty dark but he can still make out small features of your face, and he can see when you open your eyes slightly to look at him.
“Go to sleep.” he says, but you just kinda smile.
“You’re really cute,” you say with a raspy voice, your eyes are too heavy to keep open but you try to do so anyways. Just so you can keep looking at the pretty soft spoken boy in front of you.
“I am so gonna make fun of you for this tomorrow.” He laughs but you don’t respond. You’ve already fallen back asleep and it doesn’t take too long for him to do the same, laying right beside you but leaving enough room in between the both of you.
When you wake up in the morning you feel an immense amount of pain coming from all over your body. You feel like you’ve been hit by a bus, or maybe even something bigger. A train. You don’t really have the strength to get up from your bed so you don’t even try. You just roll over and stare at the light blue painted walls.
It takes a good 2 minutes for you to realize that your walls aren’t blue, and that the large panda teddy bear sitting on your bed isn’t yours. In fact this bed isn’t yours either. This is when you finally gain enough strength to finally sit up, and look around. Seeing that this isn’t your room at all. Who’s room is it? You’re not sure. It looks very familiar like you should know but you really don’t.
In the time it takes to find out whose bed you're in, Anton walks in with a big warm bowl of your favorite oatmeal. “You’re awake.” He says when he sits down on the bed beside you.
“Unfortunately.” you take a breath of relief when you see his face.
“I made you oatmeal.” He places the bowl in front of you.
“Thanks.”
“Sorry I didn’t take you home, I figured you wouldn’t want your brother to see you drunk.”
“Was I that bad?” Your voice is still strained from the night before
“Yes.”
“Did I do anything weird?” you ask but you don’t know if you’re ready to hear the answer.
“You said I was cute.”
“You?”
“Trust me it was weird for both of us.” He lies.
“Let’s just pretend like last night never happened. I’m never touching an alcoholic beverage ever again.” You state while mixing up your oatmeal.
“Promise.” Anton asks with his pinky out towards you.
“I promise.” You make sure you seal the deal this time, looping your pinky around his and rocking your hand a little to show you were very serious.
“Good. cause it sucked having to carry you home.” He adds when you begin eating the oatmeal.
“You carried me?”
“Well how do you think you got here?”  He questions, through his smile
“I’m still sobering up, my thinking skills aren’t up to date.”
“You know something, you’re actually kinda cute when you’re drunk.”
“Shut up.” you scream covering your ears so you don’t have to hear anything else he says.
Tumblr media
You finally go back to your own home when the sun sets. That’s when you feel that you’re sober enough to face your brother without being suspicious.  Although no matter how sober you are, you’re always gonna be suspicious around him.
“You’re back finally. How was the movie?” Eunseok greets you when you first walk in.
“Movie?” you question, so Anton answers for you.
“It was good for me atleast, but she fell asleep through most of it.”
“Oh, you guys went to a movie? That’s very romantic.” Sungchan asks as he walks into the living room stuffing his face with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Despite knowing that there wasn’t any movie.
Neither of you take the time to argue with him. But it doesn't stop him from continuing.
"Did you hold hands?"
“No!” you finally answer him, and you expect Anton to do the same but he only snickers behind you, leaving you to defend yourself.
“I'm glad you guys enjoyed your date, go start packing so we can head to dads old cabin” Eunseok casually jokes, and it almost irritates you
“It wasn't a date.” you stomp but it doesn’t help you at all because they all laugh when your voice squeaks.
“Is that why you’re wearing his shirt?” Sungchan points out
you look down at the extremely oversized Harley davidson graphic tee that you have on. there isn’t even any explanation for this, sure you could tell them the truth. that you threw up all over your own clothes so he gave you his as a replacement. but it was probably best that you didn’t let your anger get the best of you this time.
So you proceed to change the subject instead. “We’re going to the cabin?”
“Yeah, we’re driving out there tonight. So hurry.” He rushes you.
The cabin belonged to your dad before he died, he liked it because it was hidden in the woods. Away from the city that your mom loved so much. It balanced perfectly because it was a 30 minute ride away from the house and he enjoyed a good drive.
He’d often go out there on the weekends with Eunseok and go fishing. While you stayed with your mom and visited the small boutiques nearby. That’s what influenced your father to leave the cabin to Eunseok seeing that he’d probably get more use out of it than you would.
The cabin was pretty outdated but it had enough room for the four of you to stay for a few nights. You weren’t too fond of the old place but what you did like was the lake in the back. You liked the way it mirrored the sky during sunrises. Or the way the moon reflected off the ripples of the water.
“okay so here are the rules.” Eunseok begins but he doesn’t get to finish because the rest of you are already grunting aloud.
“alright alright, I won’t go over the rules. because I assume all of us are adults and we would know how to behave ourselves.”
“Great, I'm sharing the room with Anton.” you call dibs by looping your arm around him and pulling him closer to you.
“you guys are never beating the dating allegations.” Sungchan mutters at how tightly you have your arm around Anton’s.
“You'll never kiss a girl in your life.” you spit at him
“At least my only love interest isn’t my best friend.” He gestures quotations around the word best friend.
“Okay okay.” Eunseok holds his hands out to stop an argument from growing. “It looks like we definitely need to go over the rules.”
“no need.” Anton speaks up. “we’ll be behaved.”
“Yes we will.” you add, resting your head on Anton’s shoulder to block out the faces that Sungchan makes to you from behind Eunseok.
“and you?” your brother turns to his friend.
“I'll be good.” He turns his attention away from you the second Eunseok looks at him.
“Alright, then we’ll call it a night.” Eunseok doesn’t expect for any of you to say anything else, so he walks away to his shared room with Sungchan and leaves you alone with Anton.
“We should go swimming.” you whisper when you’re sure Eunseok can’t hear you.``it’s 11 pm.” Anton tries to stop you.
“even better.”
“You can’t swim,” he tries again but it still doesn’t work.
he should’ve known better by now. This was the dynamic of your friendship. You'd come up with a crazy idea and he'd try to talk you out of it but fails every time.
You ease your way into the lake taking one step after another. The water is cold but the heat from the summer night helps your body adjust easily the more you walk in. Trying not to slip on the rocks until your body is completely submerged under water. your feet are still grounded so it helps keep your head at the water's surface.
“feels good.” you say looking up to Anton who isn’t convinced.
“If you drown, I'm not jumping in to save you.” he confirms with his arms crossed against his chest.
“I'm not gonna drown.” You continue swimming around
“good cause i’m not gonna save you.”
“You should get in.”
“It’s dark, there’s probably snakes in there,” It’s obvious that he wants to but he refuses. instead taking a seat on the dock where the little old is so that he could just watch you swim by yourself.
which you do for a while, pushing your arms around you to keep yourself afloat. There’s nobody to accompany the two of you other than the singing owls and blue white light of the moon.
“You’re so boring.”
“That's not gonna work this time, the last time you tried that trick I had to fight some guy.”
“you fought someone?” you ask trying to float back
“It wasn't a real fight, I just punched him a few times. I don’t really know if I could call it a fight because he didn’t hit back. well, he didn’t get the chance to.”
He begins to start mumbling to himself and misses the fact that you haven’t been responding. When he finally notices and looks up in your direction, all he can see is your hands waving in the air as if you need help.
but you always play stupid tricks like these so he just laughs at you, assuming that this was another one of your pranks. “I'm not falling for that.”
“you’re a bad actor.” he continues to laugh at how committed you seem to be to this bit. However after 12 seconds he observes that you’ve been underwater for some time. which starts to worry him.
“Y/n?” he calls out just once, and immediately jumps in when you don’t respond. Swimming right to you and picking you up in his arms so you can catch some air first. You have to cough the water out of your lungs before you could even get a breath of air. Chest heaving up and down and your eyes closed tightly shut as she swims you back to the dock and sits you down.
You’re still coughing when he pulls himself out of the lake to sit down beside you and make sure you’re okay, which he had already told you he wasn’t going to do. And he doesn’t just stop there. He leaves you by yourself for a little bit, but only to go get a few towels that he can wrap around you and dry you off himself.
Almost drowning takes a lot of your energy, so you don’t do anything to help him help you; you just stare at him while he takes the towel to dry your hair. Neither one of you says anything for a while until he carries you back into the cabin and lays you down on your side of the bed.
“Now you’re gonna have dreams about drowning.” He laughs and sit up to dry himself off.
“I wasn’t drowning, I was just trying to do a cartwheel underwater.” you lie, leaned back against the pillow and watching him remove his extremely soaked shirt.
“Sure you were.”
“I really was.” You try to defend yourself again, but he still doesn’t believe you. It’s no use acknowledging that he literally saved your life because even though you were very grateful, you already knew he would, and also, this was going to be something else that he’s never going to shut up about.
“What would you do without me?”
“You might’ve saved my life once...”
“twice.” he corrects
“don’t flatter yourself.” you smile, gently smacking his arm.
Anton wakes up in the morning to find that you’re sitting by the window, staring at the way the sunrise shines off the lake. Your chin is rested on your knees, which are pressed to your chest and chained together by your arms.
“You’re up early." Anton crawls to the part of the bed where you are and sits beside you, close enough for you to lay your head on his arm. “I love the sunsets up here.” You speak low enough for it to be classified as a whisper.
He hums to show that he acknowledges what you have said. But there is just something about sitting in silence with each other that both of you love. Nothing has to be said, and there aren’t even any thoughts. But just knowing that he’s there right next to you is more comforting than anything else in the world.
“Wait, did you really fight someone?” You question, suddenly lifting your head from his arm.
“It’s no big deal.” He brushes off, however you don’t buy it as you angle your entire body towards him. “Anton, you could’ve died.”
“No, actually I- wait what are you trying to say?”
“You can’t fight, even I can pin you down.”
“That’s because I always let you win.”
“Sure.” you say rolling your eyes.
“I can prove it.” he stands up in front of you. As if he’s actually ready to start a wrestling match.
“There’s no—" You don’t get to say anything because he’s begun playfully attacking you. “You don’t have to prove anything,” you yell in your defense while still putting all your force into holding him down, just as you always do.
Yet this time is different, and you realize that when he hovers over top of you with both of your arms pinned to the bed right above your head. You weakly try to pull yourself out, but it doesn’t work. And then you make the mistake of looking up at him, your heart jumping when you do.
His face is unusually close to yours, so close that you stop breathing and feel like you have nowhere else to look but at him. Both of you are too stunned to say anything at first, and when you finally take the initiative to speak first, it comes out almost in a whisper.
“Okay you win.”
“Yeah.” He says looking away from your eyes and down at your lips.
“So you can get off of me now.”  You say once again trying to ignore the butterflies in your stomach and the underlying urge to see if his lips feel as soft as they look.
“Yeah, sorry.” he mutters while rolling off of you and taking a seat besides you, neither of you say it but you both make a mental note to never speak of that interaction again.
“Are you hungry?” he asks while avoiding eye contact.
“A little, I’ll go see If Eunseok is awake.” You say quickly jumping off the bed and running towards the door.
Tumblr media
It’s night two of three, when you walk into the room where Anton is seated on the bed trying to get through a 3 minute video, that seems longer because it won’t stop buffering every 10 seconds due to the very bad wifi connection.
You turn and lock the door behind you before getting Antons attention. “Wanna try this?” You ask, holding up the plate of brownies.
“A brownie? Sure.”
“No but it’s not any brownie, It’s a magical brownie.” you add, to make sure that he knew what he was getting himself into. “Magical? Like Jack's magical beans?” He asks while reaching for a brownie.
“No you idiot, they’re edibles.”
“Where’d you even get these from?” He asks.
“Sungchan gave them to me.” You answer while splitting the brownie and passing the smaller half to him.
“He said we shouldn’t eat the whole thing.” You add before taking a bite and watching him take his.
“But why would he give us four of them if we can’t eat the whole thing?” Anton asks
“Maybe I heard him wrong.” You think aloud.
By the time you finished eating all of the brownies you definitely felt the effects. Sitting legs crossed in front of Anton and just staring at him until you swore you could see his thought bubbles. “You know something…” You say leaning in closer to him, still analyzing the small features of his face.
“You have a really big nose.” You finish while tilting your head to the side.
“You have really pretty eyes.” He combats
“Okay.” You say ignoring his complement. Walking on your knees to sit directly on his lap.
“What are you doing?” He’s confused but his hands go directly to your waist to keep you bound. “Let’s have sex.” You say.
“What?”
“You don’t wanna go into college a virgin do you?” You try to convince him.
“I’m not a virgin.” He states questionably. So questionably that if you didn’t already know, you would’ve known from his tone alone that he was in fact a virgin.
“Yeah right.”
“I’m not.” He lies again.
“Shut up and kiss me.” You yell and he obeys, well partly. He only places a small kiss on your lips and finishes with a pat using the tips of his fingers.
“Wow?” you mutter
“I know, I’m a great kisser.” He boast on himself
“No, You suck.”
“Like you know? You’ve never kissed anyone.”
“No, but I know that’s not how you do it.” You say still sitting in his lap with your hands on each of his shoulders.
“Well you show me how it’s done.” just as fast as he finishes your lips are on his.
Giving him your first kiss and initiating a 30 minute make out session. Until you both fall asleep on the floor, with you wrapped in his arms.
Falling asleep in his arms wasn’t new. You’d done it plenty of times. however, in those many times, you were completely sober. So you never had to question whether or not you guys had sex.
You’re not naked, you know that much. so that must mean that nothing happened. but you very much remember telling him that you guys should have sex, and your last memory of the night was making out on the floor until you started to think that you might actually like him as more than a friend.
“we didn’t… do anything right?” you ask sitting up and looking back down at him.
“I don't remember.” he replies
“Neither do i.”
“The edibles aren’t supposed to plague or memory right?”
“I don't think so.”
and then it goes silent for a minute. right before the both of you start arguing.
“we had sex, oh my god i can’t believe i had sex with you.” you get up and start pacing
“Well you’re the one who came up with the idea.”
“I was high! plus you agreed. Why did you agree?”
“I was also high.”
“our friendship is ruined, we can’t ever speak to each other again.”
“Wait. really?” he pauses to look at you.
“don’t you understand what this means? we’ll fall in love with each other. it’s inevitable. there’s no solution.”
“We could just date.” he blurts out and stares at you as if he’s waiting for a legitimate answer.
“Why would we do that?” You say after staring at him in silence.
“doesn’t it just make sense?” he throws his hands up.
“no it doesn’t, we don’t like each other.”
“Well, what do you suggest?” He plops down on the bed.
“We should forget about it.”
To make matters worse, sungchan walks in right when you’ve started to calm yourself down about the idea of ruining your friendship.
“oh by the way i forgot to warn you guys, the brownies are high in… something that makes you horny. but you don’t have to worry about it, you guys are immune to that stuff.”
“yeah… we don’t have to worry about it.” You try to convince him but it doesn’t work.
“You had sex didn’t you?”
“no.” “yes.” you and Anton say at the exact same time, turning to look at each other before changing your answers.”yes.” “no”
“We don't know.” you answer solo this time. “I remember suggesting it and then we… I don't wanna talk about it.”
“Well, there’s only one thing left to do now.” Sungchan walks in fully and closes the door behind him. you don’t know what he’s about to say but you know it’s serious. “You have to date now.”
“That's what I was saying.” Anton says, throwing his arms up.
“No.” You turn and point your index finger to him and then back to Sungchan. “No.”
“No, we’ll just pretend like nothing happened, and Eunseok will never ever find out about this.”
Your plan to keep Eunseok from finding out wasn’t particularly solid. You walk out to the living space where he’s setting out the dishes for breakfast. He's not the best cook but it’s at least edible, sometimes. you’d usually tease him about it, but you’re caught completely off guard when he goes “there you guys are, I was worried something happened with all the noise you were making last night.”
“uh…” Anton stumbles across his words, he’s standing like a deer stuck in headlights.
“We were practicing, hand…stands.” You start to think of a lie to explain the noise he heard yesterday.
“Handstands?” Eunseok doesn’t even look at you.
“He doesn’t know how to do a handstand.” you say pointing to Anton.
“That’s a relief I thought you were doing something else.” He still isn’t facing you. But he knew the exact reaction he was gonna get from you.
“Something else?”
“He’s a boy, you’re a girl. You like boys, he likes girls.” He explains.
“We didn’t have sex.” You blurt out suspiciously
“I didn’t say you did.”
“But if we did.” Anton speaks up, despite the looks that you're shooting him from the corner of your eye to signal him to shut up.
“What would you suggest?” he continues
“Well then, you would just have to date.” Eunseok finally turns around to face you. Warranting your heart to drop to your stomach. You think you might just shit yourself right there. “But that’s just hypothetical of course.” he adds.
“We wouldn’t have to date. We could let it go and act like we never did it.”
“That wouldn’t work, the second you two even share a kiss you’re bound to fall in love.” Eunseok says.
That exact statement circulates your mind the entire day. You couldn’t fall in love with Anton, it just wouldn’t make sense. You don’t even see him that way, and you don’t imagine you ever will.
The rest of the day goes by and you’re still thinking about what may or may not have happened between you and your best friend last night. Keeping a safe distance just in case. Although it definitely seems to bother you more than it bothered him, because while you were still racking your brain of everything that happened the night prior, he’s just sitting in the corner of the room playing Mario karts.
“I think I just need to sleep.” You say heading towards the bed.
“I think that’s a good idea, I'm getting tired too.” he gets up to stretch before walking to the bed behind you.
“what are you doing?” you stop to ask
“I'm going to bed.” He says casually, staring at you as if he truly couldn’t understand why you’d be so hostile about him sleeping in the same bed as you.
“We can't sleep in the same bed.” You shake your head
“Why not? We sleep together all the time.”
“Don’t! say that.” you shush him with your index finger. “Okay, you take the bed, and I'll go take the couch.”
“The bed is big enough for both of us.” He looks at you when you walk closer towards the door.
“Why are you making this so hard?” You facepalm
“I'm just trying to get some sleep, you’re the one making this hard.”
You take a deep breath before speaking again, whispering as if someone could hear you through the walls. "What if we… again.”
“if we?” He asks
“You know, what if we..” you hold your hands up to make sexual gestures just so he’d understand what you were finally getting to. Yet he’s still staring at you like he just doesn't get it.
“What if we have sex again Anton, what if we have sex.” you finally just say throwing your arms down in frustration.
And you bicker for a good 15 more minutes until you finally cave in and just take the bed. His winning argument being that it’s hard for him to sleep alone since he didn’t have his stuffed panda with him. To which you replied, “You should’ve grown out of that phase years ago.” While still stuffing yourself under the sheets besides him.

September 6th 2015, is the exact date you met Anton. You remember because you still have the initial test that you copied off of him. It was the first time you’d ever made a perfect score on a test, and while you were proud of yourself your mom grew very suspicious.
You knew him before then, but you never thought to speak to him until he caught you cheating off his paper and threatened to tell the teacher. Leaving you with no other choice but to bribe him with dinosaur chicken nuggets. Which honesty was a win for you because your mom loved to pack them for you for lunch and you just didn’t have the heart to tell her that you hated them.
Since then, the two of you were attached at the hip, navigating both middle school and high school together.
You liked to remind yourself of that often, it made you feel better about the rest of life. Because you were soon to be an adult and it was horrifying to you. Even though you had your mom, your brother and Sungchan. It’s just reassuring to know that you had Anton, who was equally as scared as you were.
Listening to music through your black headphones, you sat in your room. The one place in the whole world where you could truly feel at ease. Where your walls are plastered with posters and your bed is never made. You were lucky to spend less than 5 minutes searching for anything within the 4 corners of your own space. But you loved it nonetheless.
You tried to listen to anything that would take your mind off of the event that happened over the weekend, however you were shit out of luck because every song on your playlist either talked about kissing or directly described the friends to lover's pipeline.
Throwing your headphones off, you huff and throw yourself back to stare at the ceiling. Dragging both of your hands down your face. Your friendship with Anton was easily one of the best things you had in your life and you were actively ruining it.
This is actually extremely stressful.
Usually when things got this stressful, you’d go to your loyal confidant, but since you couldn’t go to him you go to the internet instead. crawling towards your laptop to look up advice from others who had gone too far with their best friend.
There were over 7,340,000 results, in which you had rapidly read through at least a hundred of them. There’s all different answers ranging from “there’s no way to mend the friendship.” to “the awkward sexual makes it too hard to bear, the only solution is to cut them off.” Each website you click on makes your gut feel like it’s turning inside out.
The thought of having to lose Anton as a friend makes your heart feel like it’s getting stomped on by a 10 foot giant. Your eyes are flooding with tears thinking about the small irrevocable mistake that the both of you shared when you weren’t in the right state of mind.
Until you click on one last link that catches your attention.
“Just continue seeing each other as friends, overtime it’ll sort itself out.”
Just seeing the words on your screen alone is enough to feel like a nice warm hug. Drying your eyes and reading the message over until you finally start to believe that everything is actually gonna be okay.
You get up off your bed when someone gently knocks at your door, you know who it is because it’s the only person who ever knew to knock.
“Come in.” You try to mask the sorrow in your voice, and it works just barely enough for Eunseok to not catch on.
“Hey, just wondering if you're gonna come down for dinner.” He says only peeking through the doorway. “Yeah, I’ll be down there soon.” You begin to start looking around your bed for absolutely nothing, just so he couldn’t see how red and puffy your eyes were while crying.
“Okay, don’t be long. Also, Antons's downstairs waiting for you.” He adds.
“Antons here.” You quickly turn around to face him, no longer caring if he could tell that you had been sobbing just a few minutes before. Something about just hearing his name causes your heart to beat faster and your lips to turn up into a smile.
“Oh wait, he's right here.” Eunseok says backing up so your closest friend could walk in behind him. He could immediately tell you had been crying, you knew he could. Because his soft smile drops into an expression of empathy, but not yet saying anything until he knew that you had the room to yourselves.
“I’ll leave you guys, but don’t forget to come eat dinner with us.” He says once more before he closes the door. Giving you the privacy Anton’s been waiting for.
“Were you crying?” he asks, already knowing the answer.
“No.” You lie.
“I didn’t mean to bother you, I got a little nervous when you hadn’t texted me at all-.” He stops his rambling when you take a seat on your bed and look up at him. He thinks you’re about to cry again but you're just happy to see that nothing has changed between the both of you.
“I was just scared that we were gonna lose our friendship.” You mumble just a little.
“We’ve gone through worse, like the time that I pretended to forget your birthday and you stopped talking to me for a whole month.” he kneels in front of you so you don’t have to look up at him.
The memory makes you laugh a little. Remembering how upset you were, and how he baked you a homemade cake just to get you to forgive him.
“Could you just promise me that no matter what we’ll always be friends.” You ask, your voice still a little shaky from your crying session. Pinky held out towards him because you know that under no circumstance will the promise be broken.
“I promise that we’ll be best friends forever.” He links his pinky onto yours, but it doesn’t last for long because you’re already throwing your arms around him to engulf him in a big hug.
topping him over a little as he softly laughs.
“But, we should probably lay off the edibles and do something normal.” He waits until you’re pulled away from and seated back onto your bed. “like a movie.” he suggests
“deal,” You nod.

If it were anyone else, this would be considered a date. It had the same feel as a date, you’re sitting in your room trying to find an appropriate outfit and fix your hair. When Sungchan yells from downstairs. “Y/n your boyfriends here.” Causing you to glance in the mirror once more before you run down the stairs to meet him.
Neither of you care to argue with Sungchan, only paying attention to each other. “You look really pretty.” Anton speaks first, looking down at you. “Thanks.” you smile at him, but the smile doesn’t do justice to the fluttering butterflies that you feel in your stomach.
“Here’s the keys.” Eunseok places them into your hand without you even having to ask. “Really.” you tame yourself from jumping up and down.
“Don’t be out too late, and don’t crash my car.” He states, pointing his index finger at you.
“We won’t.” You head to the front door, when Sungchan yells one last time. “Enjoy your date.”
“What movie are we going to see by the way?” You ask only once you get into the car.
“You’ll see.” is all he says, and it makes you beg him for more information. “Could you atleast give me a hint.”
“It’s over an hour long.”
“Oh, thanks Anton, that helps.” You sarcastically say, while starting the car. “I think you’ll like it.” He says last.
Anton’s checking in the movie’s ticket while you’re sitting in the back just watching him, there’s no one else in the main area besides the employees, Anton, you and the stranger that walks up from behind you and compliments the shirt that you're wearing.
“Are you waiting for someone?” The man asks
“Yeah, I’m here with my friend.” You point towards Anton who’s staring intently at your interaction with the man in front of you. “He’s getting our tickets.” you add before turning your attention back to the stranger. “Are you single? By chance?” He asks suddenly but it flatters you.
The boy is smaller than what you’d describe as your type, but he’s cute and he looks very friendly. He has hair that you think you could spend hours playing in, and it’d be nice to get an actual boyfriend so Sungchan and Eunseok didn’t tease you about Anton.
“Yeah, I am.” You smile up at him as you stand up. “My name is Y/n.” You add, holding your hand out for him to shake. “My name is Sohee.” He’s about to connect hands with yours but Anton does it first as he stands besides you. Towering over both of you.
“We have to hurry and catch the movie.” He speaks only to you first, until you look at Sohee and back at him.
“Hey, sorry I didn’t see you here.” He lies.
“I don’t wanna hold you up.” Sohee says, particularly paying attention to the way Anton gently and subtly interlocks his fingers with yours. “Sorry about that.” You apologize sincerely.
“It’s no problem, I hope you enjoy the movie.” He says last before Antons dragging you off.
“Who was that?” he asks as you go down the hallway to find out which movie room was showing the movie that you intended to see. “He said his name was Sohee, I thought he had really nice hair.” You look up at Anton.
“I also have nice hair.” He whines.
“No, I mean his hair looks so soft.”
“And mine doesn’t.” He turns to look down at you.
“This isn’t about you.” You giggle. It takes for the both of you to walk into the movie room together for you to realize that he still hadn’t told you what movie you were gonna be watching. You don’t ask now, because you figure that you’ll just find out when it starts playing.
However, once you take your seat right besides your best friend all the way in the back. You miss the title of the movie because you’re too fixated on the fact he hadn’t let go of your hand since he grabbed it earlier. Watching the way he mindlessly rubs his thumb in slow and gentle circles around the back of your hand.
You’d pull away and scold him, but it actually felt nice. So you just rest your head on his arm and continue to watch the rest of the movie.
Tumblr media
It was easy forgetting about the 11 pm fiasco in the cabin. You guess Anton was right, your friendship has seen worse. And now you feel kinda silly remembering how you cried thinking about the ending of your friendship.
If that was even possible, because as long as you’ve known Anton you knew there wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do just to talk to you. Even now when he snuck himself into your room, for nothing else but to show you the memory box that he found buried deep beneath his bed.
Neither of you remember when you started making it, but both of you were glad to have it. The box was filled with random inanimate objects that actually helped to build the friendship that you have now. Things ranging from the test that brought you together in the first place.
To the small purple transparent lighter that you intended to use as a prop for your magic trick. But actually, almost became an accessory to arson. You were trying to recreate one of those fire throwing acts that you saw on tv however you got a little too carried away and set one of the towels on fire in your bathroom.
In Anton’s defense he told you over and over again that you shouldn’t do it. In your defense? You didn’t have one.
The box is filled with not only random memory sakes, but also tons of pictures of the two of you from when you got your first polaroid for christmas.
The first one you come across is a picture that Eunseok took of you and Anton in your Halloween costumes.
You’d spent months convincing Anton to go with you as Jack Skellington and Sally because of your small obsession with Tim Burton at the time.
He agreed but it wasn’t at all an easy task. And you didn’t even know he would agree until he showed up to your front door with face paint and a very unamused frown. It didn’t phase you at all though because you jumped up and down while giggling and clapping, completely missing the small growing smile that he was gaining just from knowing that you were happy and he was the cause of it.
“Aren’t Jack and Sally a couple?” Sungchan questions when you hand Eunseok your polaroid and ask him to take a picture of you.
“Duh.” you say oblivious to the point he’s trying to make.
“So if you’re Jack and you’re sally…” he points to you as he says “Doesn't that make you a couple.” He finishes with a grin. “No, it’s a costume you idiot.” You yell at him, reaching for your shoe to throw at him.
You’re ready to fight but Anton only looks down at you and smiles at how easily angry you got. And that’s exactly when Eunseok takes the picture.
Anton watches your subtle smile as you flip through each of the polaroids, he begins to mirror your smile when you look up at him and giggle softly. “Oh look at this one.” You hold one of the pictures just inches away from his eyes where he could barely see.
Rather than just taking the photograph out of your hand to see it better, he wraps his hand around your wrist and backs it up to a better angle. The gesture is very simple but you don’t fail to notice that he’s rubbing the tip of his thumb back and forth over your skin.
“I remember this.” he laughs, looking at the photo. You feel a bit of coolness fall over you when he lets go of your arm to look through the rest of the box. Which you think to do after staring at him for 5 seconds too long. Flipping though the rest of the polaroids in your hand, when you come across another picture.
This one isn’t from your camera. It’s a picture your mom took of you when you invited him over to the house for the first time. She was so happy that you had finally made a friend, she didn’t even care that she was actively embarrassing you. Sneaking pictures, and watching behind walls whenever you had finally built some gut to actually talk to him.
It was so long ago, and you were so young. It’s fun to think about now, but it’s even better to think about how long you’ve known him.
“Isn’t it crazy that we’ve been friends for so long and neither of us has a crush on eachother.” You ask, still looking down at the picture.
“Yeah.” He laughs
When you look up you see your best friend, the one person outside of your family that stuck with you through thick and thin. Who held you every time you cried and dried your tears to tell you that everything was going to be alright. Who, no matter what, never made you feel like a burden or like you were too much. Who made it obvious over and over again that they’d do anything to keep you happy.
You see Lee Anton.
He’s meant to be in your life, you’re very sure of it. Because no one understood you like he did, and no one ever will as long as he’s alive. No one defended you like he did, and you don’t care to learn if anyone else might.
But as time went on, the lines started to blur. Because you want to kiss him now, and you’re not sure if you want to do it as his best friend or something more. Gradually leaning in closer to him until your lips just barely touch.
He takes the initiative to go all the way. Furthering the kiss, you have to grab onto his shoulders to keep yourself stable.
You can’t explain it but this just feels right, or better yet, it definitely didn’t feel wrong.
Your eyes are still closed when you pull away, but the instant you open them he mutters. “I love you.” Causing you to get up and jump away from him as if he was infected with a contagious deadly disease.
“You ruined it.” You yell at him, loud enough for him to know how startled you are but not enough for anyone outside of the room to hear.
“I’m sorry!” he pleads. Within a few seconds he’s standing over you so you have to look up at him. For as long as you knew him he’d always been taller than you, it was so obvious that everyone else pointed out the extreme height difference. Well, everyone but you.
“Why would you say that?” You throw your arms down.
“I don’t know, it just came out.”
“You don’t mean it, do you?” You ask, but this time you aren’t yelling and your voice is calmer.
“Of course, I mean it. We’ve been friends for years and I love you.”
“Stop saying that!”
“Do you love me?” His voice is softer than usual and you hate it, there’s just no way you could give him any other answer outside of the one he’s asking to hear. Yet and still you can’t give him anything because you’re not even sure yourself.
“Do you?” he asks again, breaking the long period of silence.
“Could you just kiss me again?” You ask, and he listens. Just as he always does because you’re his best friend and all he wants is to make you happy.
The question never quite left your mind. "Did you love him?” No. “Do you love him?" The obvious answer is yes. It'd be impossible to not love someone that you've been close friends with for just a little less than half your life. Someone that knew almost everything about you.
But this was a more complicated question. Because you know he wasn't asking if you love him as a best friend, and that wasn't an answer you were ready to find out. If you loved him any differently than a friend, then it would change everything.
That's what you're afraid of.
Although, it's a little too late to be scared for the friendship if you're even questioning it in the first place.
Tumblr media
It’s been two days since that night, but neither of you had the balls to bring it up again. Seems as if you were getting better at pretending things never happened. You could try and say that things hadn’t changed at all, but that’d be a lie.
Usually you liked the comfort of your own room, but the more you spent in there alone the more you felt that the silence was getting too loud for your own good, and the very last thing you needed right now was to be alone in your thoughts.
So for once you decided to sit in the living room and enjoy the presence of your brother and his best friend. Sitting further away from both of them on the sofa with your legs pressed up against your chest. There weren’t any intentions of interacting with either of them, you just needed to get around somewhere that wasn’t ear ringing quiet.
But every part of you wishes you would’ve just stayed in your room, when you become the topic of discussion.
“Are you texting your boyfriend?” Sungchan teases per usual.
“No.” Is all you say, hoping that if you don’t give him the attention he wants, he’ll leave you alone. He doesn’t but what were you expecting, he was like your annoying brother after all. “You didn’t deny that he was your boyfriend.”
“He isn’t.” You mumble, still not looking up from your phone.
“Is something wrong?” Eunseok asks, and you can easily tell that he’s really concerned. But you just cannot force yourself to tell him that something is bothering you because you know he’ll wanna help. And this just wasn’t a matter that you needed nor wanted him to help you with.
“No, just kinda tired.” You begin to say but sungchan talks over you and asks a question that makes your heart drop.
“Is this about the kiss with Anton?” He pipes up randomly.
“You kissed?” Eunseok takes turns questioning you, and just when you’re about to answer him Sungchan once again speaks over you. “Yeah, but they were both high so it doesn’t really count.”
“High?” This time he’s jumping out of his seat.
By now your heart is beating loud enough to hear, there’s no way to talk yourself out of this so you don’t even try. Only preparing yourself for what’s to come.
“You were high?”
“Before you start, just know that I’m sorry and I already made the decision to never do it again.”
“Wait, don't be too hard on her, I’m the one who gave them the brownies.” Sungchan butts in an attempt to protect you. “I’ll deal with you later.” Your brother points to him, and turns his attention back on you.
“Why did you do it in the first place? I told you to stay away from drugs.” He begins raising his voice at you. That might have been when you started crying, you think. But it’s still unclear, because all you could think about was how shitty you felt to have disappointed him.
“This isn’t a game Y/n that stuff is bad, what will you do when you get to College and everyone around you is doing it?  Are you gonna do it too?” He continues to shout,
“No, I told you I wasn’t ever gonna touch it again.” You cry,
“How am I supposed to believe that? You’re not giving me any reason to trust you.”
The words he spit out of his mouth were like small but extremely sharp swords. Piercing into your heart all at once, you don’t even have the strength in your voice to speak anymore, so your next sentence comes out shaky and a little squeaky. “Did you ever trust me?”
“Why would I?” That’s the very last sword to impale your beating muscle,  you can imagine that air was just ripped out of your lungs. Leaving you to suffocate alone. If there was one thing you hated in the whole world it was being scolded by your older brother.
Simply because you weren’t used to getting yelled at by anyone else. Your mom was always very soft spoken, and your dad died before you ever got the chance to really disappoint him. So that left Eunseok, he didn’t shout at you often. But when he did, it hurt.
Anton’s the one person you went to every time you felt like this, so it was a no brainer that that’s where you’d end up now.
When you knock on his door still in your pajamas and cheeks stained with tears, he doesn’t even question you. Only holding his arms out for you to claim your spot close to his chest so he could embrace you with the warm and endearing hug that you needed most.
“He’s just looking out for you.” He speaks tenderly, once you finally calmed yourself down enough to explain everything. You always liked how soft his voice was, it was the very thing that made you wanna befriend him in the first place. Even though you made fun of him for it all the time, it was times like these when you really appreciated it.
“I just hate that I disappointed him, now he’ll never trust me.” You continue to sob into his chest.
He lets you cry for another 40 minutes until you fall asleep with your face flat against his chest. Your cheeks are still damp and a bit puffy but even now he finds himself struggling to pull his eyes away from you.
Unfortunately he’s forced to when there’s a knock at the front door, and Anton has to slide himself from under you so you don’t wake up. He knows exactly who’s on the other side of the door but he opens it anyway.
“Is Y/n here?” eunseok asks, already knowing the answer. You wouldn’t go anywhere else.
“No. why, did something happen?” Anton masks his lies with faux concern. “We just got into an argument kind of. I just wanna make sure she’s okay.” Eunseok continues.
Anton looks back at your sleeping figure and faces Eunseok. Feeling no need to hold up the lie he says, “Yeah, she’s fine.”
“Thank you… for taking care of her.”
“Of course.”
Anton closes the door when Eunseok walks away. He watches you for some short moments before leaving to go find a blanket to drape over you just in case you were feeling chilly in your sleep. And sitting on the couch beside you so you didn’t have to be alone.
Tumblr media
Anyone with a sibling would know that arguments don’t last for long. But this one did, you knew what you did was wrong but you also don’t want to apologize. So you just pretend like he doesn’t exist for the following week.
He tried nonstop for the first two days but gave up after you just stared directly in his face without a word when he offered you the keys to his car, and unlimited access for the rest of the summer.
“What do you wanna watch?” Anton asks with one hand navigating the laptop and the other playing through your hair. Your body is pressed close against his, so much so you can hear his heartbeat. And he can feel the vibrations of your voice when you hum “I don’t know, you can choose.”
“How about a cartoon?” He scrolls his pointer down to Tom and jerry.
“Not that one.” You mutter when it begins to play.
“Okay, what about the incredibles?” He asks
“I don’t like the incredibles.” you speak into his chest.
“Mickey mouse?”
“We’re not children, Anton.”
“Well, what do you wanna watch?” he shifts his body to look down at you, his frustration growing when you look back up at him. “I don’t know, but I don’t wanna watch that.”
“You don’t wanna watch anything.” He huffs.
“Just choose something good.” Both of you are bickering with each other but keeping your positions, his hand is still tangled in your hair, and you're still face to chest with him. You look up in sync when Eunseok passes by your room to get to his own, however he doesn’t make it to his room yet because he stopped to watch the two of you bicker.
If he didn’t know any better he’d think that the both of you were dating.  Funny thing is, he really didn’t know any better. So he stood there in shock staring at you two together holding a half sandwich right in front of his mouth.
“What are you looking at?” You spit, after a small moment of awkward silence.
As soon as the words leave your mouth you realize exactly what he’s looking at, because you look up at Anton and jump away a second later. Not noticing how it looked from a different point of view.
Eunseok walks away immediately with a small chuckle, because although he didn’t understand what was going on you at least acknowledged his existence and talked to him, so that was an improvement.
Tumblr media
Your relationship with your brother was still taking baby steps to recovery, but your relationship with your best friend couldn’t get any better. If you weren’t sitting right besides him, you were texting him, if you weren’t texting him, you were calling him.
You made the deal to make this summer count, just in case you grew apart from each other but with the way things were going you highly doubted that anything would break you apart now.
You threw your head back on your bed, staring at your phone with your arms held out over top of your face. You smile never wavering as you type away messages to Anton. First you send the word “hello” 8 individual times in separate messages until he responds, you wanna make sure that you have his attention first.
But when he doesn’t respond or even open the messages, you let the anticipation get the best of you and just call him, so you can at least hear his reaction when you tell him the news that has you busting at the seams with excitement.
Yet, something about hearing the phone ring over and over again slowly kills the excitement in you. Your smile is still present, it’s just smaller now.
Anton always answered his phone for you, even during the cello lessons that his dad used to make him take after school. So this is something new to you, and you’re not sure how to really feel about it.
The only thing you can think to do is just go to his house and see him in person. At Least this way you could see his reaction face to face and even hang out for a little. That’s what you choose to do, throwing your legs over your bed to rush to his front door.
“Hey, guess wha-” You start the second the door opens but stop when you see that the person who opened the door wasn’t Anton. In fact, you don’t know who this is, you’ve never seen her before.
“Hi?” The girl pipes up, smiling at you. You try to force yourself to mirror her smile, it lasts almost as long as a blink but with all the thoughts running through your head you end up just blurting out. “Who are you?”
“I’m Anton’s friend.” She holds her hand out to you. “Nice to meet you.” She smiles.
You feel your heart sink into your chest, the longer you look at her. It was happening already, and summer isn’t even over yet. you thought things were looking up, but it’s just the beginning of the end.
You wanna ask, “Are you sure?” because Anton's never mentioned her before, but you hold your tongue and simply ask “Is he here?” and she responds with “Yeah, I’ll get him for you.”
You wait for less than a minute before Anton comes to the door, you hadn’t thought about what you were going to say when you did see him. So now you’re stumbling over your words trying to find out what question you wanna ask first.
“I just came because you didn’t answer your phone, but I guess you have a date so that would explain everything.” you mutter
“It's not a date, she just came over to play games.”
“sounds fun.”
“you’re not mad.. right?”
“I'm just a little disappointed that you didn’t tell me. but she’s really pretty I hope you guys have fun.”
“why do you even care? we’re just friends.” he asks when get ready to turn your back.
“Just fr- the rest of the words can’t even leave your mouth, just caught in your throat as tears begin to swarm your waterline. “Clearly we don’t feel the same way, so I’ll just go.”
“Feel the same way?” he repeats “about what? there’s nothing to feel.” That's what does it, knocks the wind right out of your lungs.
“Nothing. Nothing, Anton, bye.” You hurry and walk away before he can see you cry. The conversation reminds you of the stupid high school boys that you used to avoid. You cling to Anton because you always thought he was far too sweet to ever treat you or anyone like that. But you were wrong—terribly wrong, and it makes you physically ill.
Crying for the third time this summer, barging into the house past Eunseok, and running into your room. This might actually be your first heartbreak, and it’s funny to think that your best friend would be the one to give it to you.
“Knock, knock.” Eunseok knocks on the bedroom door that you forgot to close. Usually, he waits for your permission to enter, but this time, he just walks right in and takes a spot on the edge of your bed.
“go away.” You sob into your pillow.
He continues to speak, not caring about your protests. “I know you don’t want to talk to me right now. But I want you to know that I'll always be here for you, and no matter what, I’ll always look out for you.”
“I don't need you to look out for me.”
He doesn’t say anything else because he knows it’s only a matter of time before you open up to him about what’s going on.
He thought right. It took not even four seconds for you to sit up and look at him with glossy eyes. “We’re just friends, not best friends, not even close friends. Just friends,” you said, hiccupping in between words.
When Eunseok doesn’t say anything, you keep talking.
"He was hanging out with this girl; I've never met her before. Well, I mean, he’s never told me about her, and she’s really pretty. He probably thinks she’s prettier than me.”
“you’re crying because he was hanging out with a girl?” Eunseok recaps, and you roll your eyes.
“You don’t get it; no one gets it.” Not even you. You couldn’t explain to him what’s wrong if you wanted to because you actually had no clue. All you knew was that you saw him with another girl, and it hurt—a lot.
“Then explain it to me.” Your brother looks at you, really trying to understand so he can find a way to make you feel better. When you go completely silent, he blurts out another question.
“Do you like him?”
Now you get it. Now, it all makes sense. You don’t want to admit it aloud, but you know the truth. You’ve stopped crying, but your voice is still weak and raspy when you say, “We’re just friends,” repeating Anton's exact words.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t easy ignoring Anton, not because you were struggling to stay away from him but because he made it hard to pretend like he never existed. Blowing up your phone with phone calls or text messages and popping up at your front door occasionally so you’d be forced to see his face.
You’ve moved on from being mad about whatever it was that you were mad about in the first place to being mad about the fact that he didn’t share the same feelings you had.
This was all his fault anyways, because if it wasn't for his dumb stupid face and his annoying soft voice you would’ve never fallen for him in the first place. You were actually pretty good at keeping your emotions controlled… well more less. But this was still his fault, and you weren’t taking any responsibility.
1:15 Brachio: Wanna go skating today?
1:22 Brachio: hey??
1:37 Brachio: did I do something wrong?”
You scoff at the last message; he really had the audacity to ask if he did something wrong. Even if you didn’t fully know the reason you were mad, he should’ve definitely known.
4:49 Brachio:  Hello?
4:49 Brachio: I’m sorry, please talk to me.
4:49 Brachio: this isn’t fun I’m getting flashbacks.
4:50 Brachio: I’ll bake you a cake.
4:50 Brachio: I’ll do anything.
5: 10 Brachio: wow so you hate me.
6:20 You: I do, leave me alone.
6:20 Brachio: Oh, sorry,
6:29 Brachio: Are you still mad?
You leave your phone face up and watch his name flash more and more from the corner of your room. Trying to think of anything else to distract you from the conversation Anton was having with himself in your messages.
Tumblr media
“What are you doing out here?” Sungchan looks down at Anton, cropped down in front of your door. “Waiting for Y/n,” he responds.
“Oh I’ll get her for you.” He turns.
“No! She’s not gonna come out if you tell her I’m here. I’ll just wait.”
“Is this like a game?... or”
“She came over 2 weeks ago, and we had a small argument about… actually, I don’t know what it was about. I just know that it upset her that I had one of my friends over.” Anton explains.
“Interesting, interesting and was this friend a girl?”
“Yeah.”
“Do you find her physically attractive?”
“No, I’ve never really looked at her like that.”
“Interesting.” Sungchan taps his chin three times for a cinematic effect. “It seems to me like Y/n might have a little crush on you.”
“On me? She couldn’t possi- oh~” he comes to the realization mid sentence. “What is Anton gonna do with this new found information?” Sungchan begins to speak in his version of a British accent.
“There’s nothing I can do, She won’t talk to me. It’s been weeks.” Anton looks up to sungchan.
“If there is a will, there will be a way,” Sungchan speaks with his finger in the air as if he were some inspirational character from a children's book.
“Okay…” Anton mutters.
“Sungchan says! We shall make it rain.”  Sungchan yells.
“Make it rain?” Anton questions
“Make it rain.” Sungchan heroically yells.
“Make it rain?” Anton asks again.
Tumblr media
Since summer was coming to an end, you figured there was no other time to start packing than now. The first thing you decided to start with was the abundance of posters on your walls. It didn’t hurt as much as you thought it would. Maybe you needed a little change in your life, and growing up wasn’t all that bad.
“I never thought I’d see this room all packed up.” Eunseok says as he walks through your bedroom door.
“I haven’t even started yet.” You laugh.
“You start school in a few weeks. How do you feel?”
“I’m actually kind of excited, maybe it’s time for me to make new friends.”
“Are you at least gonna talk to him before you go?”
“He’ll be fine, he has someone to keep him company.” you don’t even take the time to look at your brother when you speak. Focusing on carefully taking down your wall art without ripping any of them.
“I’m sure he’d still like to talk to you.”
“I don’t care.’ You say bluntly.
“Maybe you should.” You only turn to look at him when he’s gone, leaving you alone with nothing but your crowded walls and crowded thoughts to match. Going away for college meant you might not ever talk to Anton again. Well, you were probably going to see him around campus or something, sure. But you won’t be friends like you used to. He’ll go off to build his new group of people, and so will you.
Maybe this friendship wasn’t so strong after all.
The splashing water against your window is enough to pull you out of your thoughts. You guess that it’s raining at first, so you open your window to observe the sky but see that it’s completely bright and clear.
“What the heck?” You say aloud to yourself, trying to observe where the sprinkles of water are coming from.
Then you see Anton standing right below you, drenched in water and Sungchan holding the water hose from the bushes. “These idiots.” You mutter under your breath.
“Y/n, someone's here for you,” Eunseok yells from the stairs, making sure to leave out Anton’s name. He knew you wouldn’t leave your room if he did mention him.
Anton doesn’t give you the chance to speak before he starts to recite the note he has in his hands. The note was just as wet as he was, and the ink had already begun washing off the paper, but he continued to read anyway.
“I. Am. Very. Sorry. For-” Not caring to hear the rest of what he has to say, you snatch the damped paper out of his hand and rip it up in front of him. Then throwing the pieces back in his face before you slam the door and leave him to talk to himself.
“I didn’t need that.” He murmurs through the barrier between you two.
“Remember you pinky promised me that we’d always be friends. You can’t break it now. We never break our pinky promises.” He speaks on the other side of the door since you weren’t gonna speak to him face to face.
“For the love of god Anton, go away-” You yell at him when you open your front door, and within a blink of an eye his lips are on yours and his hands are on each side of your face. He’d pulled you far enough out of your house to get drenched in the water that Sungchan was spraying.
You break the kiss first with a harsh slap on his cheek. “Why did you do that?” You shout.
“That’s what they do in the movies whenever they confess their feelings. I thought it would work,” he explains, holding his cheek,
“You like me?”
“Am I gonna get slapped again if I say yes?”
You don’t have anything else to say, so you pull him down to you by the collar of his shirt and kiss him once again. Before whispering, “I like you too.” Against his lips
“So you’re not mad at me anymore?”
“I still haven’t gotten a cake yet.” is your response to his question, but you both knew that you were far from mad at him.
You guys shared over 234 pinky promises in the time span that you had been friends. And all of them remained unbroken, except for one.

shotaro, established relationship, 660
The mindless taps of your phone brings shotaro into focus, his eyes tracing your still figure. His hands reach up to combine his fingers through your hair, going in a up and down motion, his eyes filled with care, with.. love.
You finally turn around to find your boyfriend still staring at you, his eyes lighting up slightly, a little sparkle of stars. You fall unto your back, giving him a look, like you had something on your face.. "what?" You finally break the peaceful silence, shotaro shaking his head, his smile widing.
"You just look so.." he giggles, his head dropping as a small blush covers his cheeks. It was an adoring sight. "So what?" You teasingly lean closer to you, shotaros giggles getting louder. "Pretty." He spats out, your eyes widening before its replaced with a smile. "So are you."
He sighs, "I lov-" he stops, his heartbeat picking up when he realizes what hes about to say. "You.. what?" You poke his shoulder, letting out a pout then he doesnt finish your words, shaking his head instead.
"Its nothing-"
"Please!!" You drop your bottom lip, your eyes forming into a puppies as shotaro pinches the bridge of his nose, trying not to give in to the temptations. "No!!" He shouts playfully, getting up to run around the house with you chasing him.
.
The wind blows your hairs as shotaro gently lays down his star blanket on the grassy hill, moving his hands to gesture you to sit. You sit in a comfortable silence as he turns to you, looking at you with so much more care and love than he did before.
Almost a week after the incident, and shotaros sure about his feelings for you. You've been there for him for so long, seeing his highs and lows that hes bound to thank you, one way or another.
So he grabs your hand, giving it a squeeze to bring your attention onto him. And with the way your eyes almost shine, he feels nervous again. "What?" You ask with the same tone from a week prior, using your other hand to scratch at your face, letting out a shrug when you find nothing.
Shotaro lets out a chuckle at your silly behavior, snaking his head for him to focus. His first and final shot. "Do you remember.." not like that his shakey voice making him cringe as he clears his throat.
"Do you remember.. last week, when I-"
"I cant even remember what happened yesterday."
"You dont remember about my blueberry waffles i made you?!" Shotaro lets out a gasp, letting go of your hands to cover his mouth in a shocked manner. "Of course not that part, silly!!" You lightly tap his shoulder, a laugh breaking shotaros acting.
"But sorry, sorry. Go ahead!!"
"Right." He nervously smiles at you, turning to face you fully, grabbing both of your hands and giving it a little squeeze. "So um.." he starts, trying to find the right words. "Dont look at me like that!" He felt slightly conscious about the way you were staring at him, you letting out a breathy smile before shutting your eyes. "Keep going.."
"I.. I love you." His voice was a mere whisper, but you could hear him perfectly, your eyes popping open to stare at the pink boy. "I said dont look at me like that!!" He repeats, trying to break the tension.
"You said.."
"I just.. had to get it off my chest." He states, his head dropping down. "I've actually been in love with you the moment you let me sit at your table. I was the foreign kid and i was sure that I'd be alone for the rest of my time, but you welcomed me with open arms, not even knowing who i was. I felt comfortable with you, i felt acknowledged. Then we went from friends.. to best friends.. to.." he looked up at you expectantly. "Lovers."

Jung Sungchan is missing.
Ding!
You don't actually know each other. Counting the months, it's been almost a year of standing in silent acknowledgement within this tiny elevator. In fact, you shouldn't even know his name! You only managed to find it out when he dropped his lanyard when you two were clocking out, and you picked it up for him, but he only blushed, yelped his thanks and ran!
Was he hiding unapproved invoices? was his department over budget? you swear that the accounting department isn't that scary!
Ding!
Should standing in an elevator for nearly fifteen minutes count as your morning commute? It really shouldn't but here you are. The coffee in your hands went cold about 5 floors ago, the usual ache in your feet is starting to kick in, and you can feel the humidity wreaking havoc on your hair. You really do want to curse out the big shot who thought that having offices on the 40th floor was a good idea. Partly, you think that Sungchan would also curse them out as well.
By floor thirty something, you almost fall asleep before a familiar sight steps into the lift. And unfortunately enough, he looks to be in the same state as you are.
Ready to murder, or be the first one to die in said horror film. You wonder if Sungchan likes horror movies too. Every office worker should: it gets the stress out very well. In fact, he might’ve been staying up late watching them; the bags under his eyes really don’t compliment the lack of caffeine in his hands. You almost feel half tempted to give him your own cold cup to help tide his morning over.
Sungchan slots right into place at the back of the elevator next to you. His broad shoulders knocking into you slightly due to the cramp of the lift.
After a year of it, you’d like to think you’re used to the space he takes up in your life; physically and mentally.
The thing is, for a guy that works an office job, Jung Sungchan is not a bad looking man at all. Always looking like he's attending the first day of school with a pressed collar and ironed tie, it's hard to look... and not fall in love with him in the process. Never once in your commuting life have you ever seen a hair out of place on him. He's closest you've ever physically gotten to the picture of corporate happiness and 100% customer satisfaction, while you get into daily arguments with your Excel spreadsheet.
Ding!
A trolley of files comes wheeling into the cube of claustrophobia, forcing you to squeeze further into the corner until you find yourself between a cold corner and a warm place. The thought of whatever department’s budget goes flying out the window when — Ah.
The smell of citrus falls over you like a waterfall. Sungchan’s cologne must be dumped in his hair because it’s suddenly all you know. It makes you dizzy, so much so, that you barely notice him sheepishly grinning down at you. He’s leant on his forearm, next to your head, caging you in, and his other is desperately trying not to dig his messenger bag into your side.
"So sorry about this," he whispers. It feels conspiratorial in the tight space, but almost everyone else has earbuds in and probably have bigger things to worry about.
You tilt up to look at him, not forgetting to linger on the long column of his throat exposed by his grey suit. "S'fine,” you mumble up to him, sorely aware of the way his wide eyes stare into yours. "Nice to meet you?" you eke out. You try and go for casual and smooth, but your heart sounds like a clattering of the subway: raucous in your ears.
Maybe it has been a year of pining away. Staring after Sungchan and his unfairly good proportions and rolling mountain shoulders. You don’t know how the PR interns haven’t already kidnapped him to make some sexy corporate calendar. However, you do know that it would increase revenue for the entire first quarter and save you about 10 less board meetings on budget caps. The content of said photoshoots is all you can dazedly think about as he shifts again, shuffling further into the wall and further into your mental mess.
Ding!
Sungchan’s smile is wicked as it breaks you from your thoughts. "Lovely to meet you, elevator buddy." And he sends you an overconfident wink for your efforts – with a small blush to dash. “Would love to shake your hand but, we’re ah – a bit occupied.”
You quirk a brow. “Elevator buddy?”
Sungchan’s grin doesn’t relent, even at your scrunched expression. "I've spent the past year calling you that, you're not stopping me now.” He says the last bit under his breath, as the lady with the trolley backs up even further into him and pushes him impossibly closer to you. His lips end up skimming your forehead and sending an involuntary chill down your spine, while your right hand ends up flat on his chest, your left jammed awkwardly into your side with your coffee.
Pull it together, please God, pull it together.
“The last year?” Is all you can get out coherently. It’s impossible to take deep breaths when every thought in your head is being thrown out of a metaphorical window. Citrus and smoke, hands and lips, months and quarters. This elevator crush is going to haunt you for life if you go back to silence after all this. Stop asking questions damn it!
Sungchan hums, the sensation sinking into your bones. “It’s about then, no? It was my first time in the building because it was the BigHit and Pledis merger last year,” he says, awfully fond. “You had a massive dossier of balance sheets, and I crashed into you in the elevator lobby because you never saw me. Your papers went everywhere!” Sungchan trails off in a laugh, however your mind starts taking very careful steps back into the past…
You barely remember last year. Only the stress piling up on your table from one too many days working after hours in the quiet with Eunseok. The grid lines of spreadsheets permanently etched onto your screens and into your retinas. Neither company was willing to give an inch for each other in spite of the whole “merger” idea, forcing far too many revisions, far too close to the deadline those prissy higher ups set. And so, the entire fate of departments rested on your two heavily overworked shoulders.
Running into someone like Sungchan would have never crossed your mind then. Being all wrapped up in your stress, there was no way you’d pay that much attention to a pretty face. One incident in particular though… ding!
“Wait… you’re the one that spilt their pretentious oat milk chai latte on the finalised budget reports?!” You don’t even know if that was his actual drink order but all you remember was flying into a fit of red rage when green bled all over your precious, freshly printed work.
To hell with kissing him; a kiss with your fist was way more overdue.
Sungchan practically squawks as he jumps to justify himself. “I didn’t spill anything! I just accidentally walked into you and the papers – and my latte – went flying! Not my fault.” His hand snakes down from the wall and onto yours resting on his chest. If you could physically look him in the eyes, you’d be sure there’d be some fire of determination in them.
Now, it’s his heartbeat, clattering under your ear like the ticking of keycaps; it’s his heat, sticking his shirt under your palm like tack; it’s his voice, shaking like an intern at the barest critique. His hand dwarfs yours: long fingers tracing the lines of yours.
Your temper matches in step with your heart, beating against your mind in double time. “Do you know how long it takes to print double sided for a full dossier?! All of it to end up on the floor, covered in your hipster green tea latte! I have full authority to half whatever budg—"
Ding!
— “Hey, you two, this is your floor.” The tired voice of general manager Kim Doyoung chirps in. Red floods your face at the thought of someone watching you lose your head. Nevertheless, Doyoung watches on with a boredom only he could achieve. “You, save the death threats for feedback week, and Sungchan — don’t mess with someone from accounting.”
Sungchan takes the hint and peels himself off you, the smell of citrus still making you dizzy. The crowd barely parts, but he uses his size, pushing the way for the both of you. His enormous hand holding yours through the crowd and guiding you out of the cube of stress. When the doors whir shut behind you, he takes your empty coffee cup and dumps it into the bin.
Never would you think you’d be left hand in hand with Sungchan in an isolated elevator lobby. He’s still clasped onto you with a vice grip: his heat searing into your palms like hot iron. It burns being this close. The buzzing AC in the lobby being the only thing keeping you alive.
Nobody talks for a second, letting the silence say it’s piece before your mouth starts moving before you’ve processed what it’s doing. "If anyone reports us to HR, I am so so sorry.”
Sungchan takes a breath, blinking those wide doe eyes at you before his face splits into a grin. “No, don’t worry. I don’t think Doyoung-hyung will kick up much fuss,” he smiles.
Only now do you remember Doyoung is the head of HR and your heart kicks into double time again, but how is Sungchan so calm about this? As if reading your mind, he squeezes your hand to reassure you before dropping your it. “Stop looking so worried! Just look.” He pulls his lanyard out from where he usually stashes it in his breast pocket, and you nearly trip over your feet when you see it.
"I am HR." What the hells.
The look on your face must give it all away as Sungchan’s laugh echoes in the empty elevator lobby. And hells, the kid – is he even younger than you?? – knows he’s got you wrapped around his finger. "Maybe I will just file a complaint,” he says with a smile. “What was that again? Threatening to half our department budget?”
He tilts his head all coy like he’s not the one at fault here. The audacity, really. You shake your head in mild disbelief and shrug off your nerves. Oh, you know what? Might as well go for it. What’s stopping you now? Definitely not HR.
"Bold words from someone who singlehandedly setback the entire Bighit-Pledis merger back by a whole day,” you counter, head raised in even challenge. Sensible accountant alarm bells are ringing in your mind, but you clamp down on them. “Shouldn’t you, be making up to me?”
It’s your turn to fan your lashes and pout your lips. Savouring in the way he pretends to think and avoid staring at your pouted lips.
"There might just be something..." His long fingers pull you in by the lapels, just a hair away. A blush must flush all the way down you from the way his eyes light up. You watch his lips curl into that grin of his, already thinking about what’s next. Citrus and smoke, hands and lips, months and quarters.
"Not here, sweetness." And his smile is just as deadly as yours.
Fuck the spreadsheets. You’ve got a private meeting in board room #127 with corporate happiness.

INSECURITIES AND SHOPPING! ✧(σ๑˃̶̀ꇴ˂̶́)σ wonbin🎀❄️🦷🐰
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In which wonbin is finally yours and he’s been learning things about you he thought he would definitely know by now.
Bf!wonbin x poc!reader
kinda sad idk and cute and smutty!! kindaaa pt.2 from this!
Wonbin knows you, inside and out he knows you yet he’s still learning new things about you.
He knew growing up was tough I mean growing up foreign anywhere in fact is tough and he knew how strong you were but he didn’t know all the racism you encountered.
You’ve discussed it once before “Well a lot of people here are just arrogant and I can’t put a big say in it I’m like Obama black to them but Koreafyed”.
But he just learned that the girls were brutal and the boys were pervs, them ruining your self-esteem.
The day you came with your hair done in box braids he could see you turning over into yourself, he could tell you didn't know if you liked it or not “You look so pretty my love, matches you so well” he saw your entire mood shift, it broke his heart.
“Really?! I was so nervous it wouldn't match me or I'd look dumb as fuck, oh em Gee or people would think I'm just some Korean girl trying to be black” You dramatically fell into his arms squeezing him tight, fake sniffling.
He smiled with so much love he thought you were so silly “I don't think anyone would've thought that nobody cares about cultural appropriation in Korea” you laughed out loud.
Waking up to him slipping his pretty cock in you and giving you a good fuck is not usually how you'd start the day.
He’d move you on top of him letting you hug him while he fucks you with his sloppy thrusts and whimpers, grabbing at your ass and giving light slaps not forgetting to finish inside you with multiple whiny “I love you”s. he would keep you stuffed till he got the energy to get up. “So pretty baby so pretty”.
“Wanna go out? I'll buy you some stuff I saw you were running out of concealer,” he'd bear hug you from behind moving his hands all along your front pinching at your tummy and squeezing at your boobs you stifle a giggle trying to concentrate on brushing your teeth “Could get all pretty together take pictures and stuff” he mumbled in your neck.
“Mhmm of course I love that” you smile spitting out whatever remains in your mouth and cleaning it off, turning to your beautiful boyfriend and giving a kiss on his lips.
He thinks you're just so lovely and he's gonna make sure you know.

SHOTARO ☆
After sticking your tongue at you, shotaro decided that he had no choice but to tickle you
Has you on the floor, kicking your feet with a massive smile on his face
"T-taro.. SHOTARO" stops immediately
"Is everything alright? Was i going to far?"
You sticked your tongue at him again, so he just continued ♡
EUNSEOK ☆
You were having a bad day, so eunseok decided to buy you a plushie
"Eunseok!!" You would gasp as he turns around your chair, engulfing him in a big hug
"Do you like it?" He would whisper in your ear, his voice calm and deep as he rubbed circles on your back
Doesnt mind if you call him by his actual name, thats just your way of saying you really like it
And spoils you for the rest of the night ♡
SUNGCHAN ☆
Sungchans doing his regular 'ol teasing about how short you are
Its gotten to the point where you just ignore him, until he starts poking your shoulder
"hey short-" "sungchan. Im trying to watch my show."
"Oh.." thinks hes went to far, and starts pouting beside you
But you pull him into a hug, letting him know that youre just really anxious for when sofie was going to slap chad in the face ♡
WONBIN ☆
"Do you like it?" His arms were wrapped around your waist, his head on your shoulder as he puts a necklace on you
You gasp. "Wonbin.." and he lifts himself up
"W-was it bad?? I could get you a new one o-or"
You'd have to stop him. "I love it."
"Oh." He'd say with a shy smile, looking down and wrapping you in a hug ♡
SEUNGHAN ☆
You guys were having your "loving" time
Seunghan holding you down on his lap as he starts to attack your neck with purplish bites
"Mm.. seunghan." He immediately stops, looking up at you with worried eyes
"Did i do something wrong? Did you not like it?" "Babe what are you talking about?" "You only call me hannie!!"
Then you'd have to explain that you like it, you really like it. "Oh." Then he continues ♡
SOHEE ☆
Sohee wouldnt wake up
"Hehe.. soso.. are you dead or something?"
You said his name, and he immediately shot up
"W-what happened? Am i late? Am i dreaming??"
You said his name again, shutting him up before cuddling with him ♡
ANTON ☆
You were in the bathroom when you shouted his name
Runs to you all worried and shocked because you never call him anton. Its usually babe or baby or ton or ant
"Baby are you okay?! Do you need pads or something?!" He figured you were on your period
"Do you think i could pass off as a dude?" You open the door revealing the makeup you used to show you mustache and beard
Takes a second to process before bursting out laughing "here, lemme help you." ♡

idol!sungchan x idol!eunseok x fem!reader ☆ nsfw ; wc : 1.5k+ ☆ one-shot mdni! synopsis; car sex warnings; handjob, unprotected sex, breeding, sungchan and reader are in a relationship, shotaro and seunghan are in the car
Tumblr media
It was very rare when staff allowed you to come along with Sungchan during schedules. And when you are, you and Sungchan are expected to be on your best behavior. Aka. In public you have to pretend to be staff and Sungchan has to pretend he doesn't care about you. Eventually, Sungchan got fed up with that and he begged the company for one of two things. You were allowed to be seen with him in public or he could bring you on any schedules he wants. The company was not on board for the whole open relationship idea, so they agreed to let you come along when wanted.
Only thing was that you would go in a different car and not the one Riize would go in. Not because the company didn't want you too, but because there was zero space. Unless they would split up the cars, then they'd allow you to be with him. You were watching Riize film something for some promotion thing you completely forgot the name of, only coming because Sungchan begged you prior to come along since he said it would take all day to do and that was supposed to be your day together. You had zero problem with it, you loved Riize. They were always so supportive and excited whenever you came along. And you enjoyed watching them shoot, mainly because Sungchan's arms were around you whenever he wasn't, but also because when he was, you get to stare at handsome Sungchan at work. "And that should be it!" The camera man turns the camera off, you watch as Sungchan makes his way towards you, placing a soft kiss on your lips before checking the time. "It's late, I'm gonna quickly get out of these clothes and we'll head home okay?" It wasn't that late, but the sooner you got out of there the better, you were starting to see the set every time you closed your eyes. Now for the unfun part, figuring out what the seating arrangement would be for the car ride back. After what felt like an extremely long discussion, you guys decided to split up. Anton, Sohee and Wonbin would go in one car while Shotaro, Seunghan, Eunseok, Sungchan and you would go in another. Sungchan made the point that someone in the other car should switch with him, so that you could also have a seat. But, the 3 were very stern about not switching, claiming they were really tired and wanted to stretch. Since no one was changing their mind, Sungchan accepted the fact that you would be sitting on his lap. Except he really didn't want that. Sungchan is very good at many things, but he is not good at self control, and today just happened to be a day where he really really needed you. It took everything in him to not drag you into a changing room and fuck you there while he was on break. So he opted to sitting in the back, so at least there could be slight privacy. What didn't cross his mind is that someone would have to be sitting in the back as well. After another, except this time, short discussion, they decided that Eunseok would sit in the back as well. The moment you sat on Sungchan, his hands held your thighs. Lightly squeezing them every few seconds. His breath hot on your neck. After a while, you were sure everyone else knocked out, tired from the past photoshoot. Sungchan however, was wide awake, having trouble resting his eyes due to how bumpy the ride was. Sungchan swears he was sent to hell with the way the route they were going had so many speed bumps. His clothed cock making contact with you with every jolt. He knew you felt it, there was no way you couldn't. "I need you."
You experimentally adjusted yourself on his lap, Sungchan lowly groaning in your eyes, stuffing his face in the back of your neck, "You can't wait like 20 minutes?" "They won't know." Technically, if you guys are discreet about it, you could probably get away with it. But it could also be incredibly risky. If someone catches you it could either result in their respect lowering for you, or you being banned from ever going to another schedule with Sungchan ever again. "Make it quick." "You don't have to worry about that," Sungchan wastes no time taking his cock out through the zipper of his pants, moving yours enough for access before pushing your panties to the side and stuffing himself in you. You hold onto the back of the seat in front of you, making sure not to disturb Shotaro sitting in it. He waited a second before thrusting up into you, forcing you to bite your lip to avoid making noises. You could never get used to how big Sungchan is, and normally you'd be a loud mess but this felt like a test from the devil himself. "I've been wanting to do this all day," Sungchan slams your hips down on his, "How I wished I was inside of you instead of doing that stupid photoshoot." "Sungchan.." You moan, loud enough for only him to hear you. His fingers dragging up your skin under your shirt, the warmth of his hands making you sweat. Despite Sungchan controlling your hips, you were unable to stop yourself from doing so as well. Bouncing on his cock soft enough to not make any noises, though is was pretty hard to cover the noise of how wet your pussy sounded every time he thrusted in. It wasn't until you swear you saw something move next to you, where you swear your heart stopped. "You guys are not discreet at all.." Sungchan stops, holding your hips tight, his cock deep inside you as you acknowledge the fact that the person right next to you, was in fact awake.
"Shit- Eunseok I'm sorry-" Sungchan he says quietly, just enough for the other male to hear. "It's fine." Eunseok manspreads slightly, "Just wished you could've let me know ahead of time." Sungchan keeps still, unsure to wether or not he should continue. On one hand, he really needs to cum, on the other, he doesn't want Eunseok to feel uncomfortable. "You guys can continue if you want, I'm not stopping you." The second Eunseok says that, Sungchan goes back to fucking up into you without saying a word back. You could feel eyes on you though, and that makes you let out a soft moan. You notice the way Eunseok warily palmed himself through his jeans, and it seemed you weren't the only one who noticed when you feel Sungchan tap you lightly. "Y/N help him." Eunseok stopped and moved his hand away, not seemingly too embarrassed that he got caught, "She doesn't have to if she doesn't wan- fuck.." You place your hand on top of his hard on, lightly massaging it the way he just was. You helped Eunseok unzip his pants, pulling his cock out from his boxers so your entire fist could work him. Eunseok and Sungchan were pretty close, but you never thought in your entire life of living that you would be in the back of a car getting penetrated by your boyfriend, while giving a handjob to another member of his group. Let alone the fact that Sungchan suggested it. Considering he was always pretty possessive, constantly saying he'd be pretty willing to knock a man out if they looked at you in any way. But maybe it's the fact that he knows you're his, and so he has nothing to worry about. You were too busy on the current circumstances to take realization in the way noises were made. A mix between Eunseok's pre cum and the movement of your hand made a wet sound that could be heard easily if you try really hard enough. One hand working his cock while the other focused mainly on his tip, Eunseok was seeing lights. You were all to aware of how close you were now, too determined on making Eunseok cum to even tell Sungchan. Although Sungchan didn't seem like he was in a communicative mood either, forcing your hips up and down his cock while he made low grunts. Your started to lose focus on your hands when you felt buildup in your lower stomach, "Sungchan please 'M gonna-" Sungchan knocks the words out of your mouth, forcing his cock to go as deep as it possibly could inside of you. The full feeling making your mind go numb as you orgasm all over Sungchan's cock. The sight alone sending Eunseok to his climax, his hips fucking up into you before twitching, cum shooting out onto your hand and the back of the seat in front of him, "Sh-shit.." You felt as Sungchan's cum filled you up, nails digging into the sides of your waist. He pulls out, fixing your panties so they hold his cum inside, finding the entire situation much hotter now that he returned to reality. Sungchan's arms wrapped around you when he felt you lose strength, resting on him behind you. He made circles with his fingers softly on the parts of your hips that he knew he held onto too harshly. "This was a one time thing," Sungchan looks at Eunseok, "It's never happening again, so if that thought's in your head, get it out." "Whatever you say man," Eunseok closes his eyes, hoping to find sleep in the small amount of ride there was left.
