Sunfyre the Golden~
Tumblr media
It's no mystery why he's considered to be the most beautiful dragon to ever fly the Westerosi skies. Only 7 weeks left to wait for season 2 and we'll finally get to see this majestic boy in action!

Sunfyre has such a cool design, so I just had to draw him. I might be team black but team green's dragons truly are some of the coolest!

Someone please explain to me, beacuse maybe I'm stupid or something, but where did this rumor that people kept repeating that Aegon II was the first to tame a wild dragon, because Sunfyre was wild, come from..?
I saw them both on Pinterest and on YT. For example:
Tumblr media
Where did people get this?
Sunfyre was hatched on Dragonstone, but there was the second most dragon-filled Dragon Pit in Westeros after KL. Targaryen dragons lived there, young dragons were hatched there (Maegor was ask to bonded there with one of them, that's where Viserys wanted to take Aemond after Laena's funeral, that's where Stormcloud and all the rest hatched), and that's where the dragon keepers were. Aegon II did not go looking for a wild dragon, but the dragon keepers brought him Sunfyre, which was a most "domesticated" young dragon.
Sunfyre was not a wild dragon. Where do these people get this idea?

Sunfyre 'The Golden' Aesthetic.
Sunfyre was a beautiful dragon with gleaming gold scales and pale pink wing membranes. In the sunlight his scales shone like beaten gold. Sunfyre was fierce and very powerful, but towards the end of his life he was almost cowed by the battles he'd fought.

I know the real Sunfyre is somewhere looking on in disgust at what they’ve done to him. The prettiest dragon and he’s the colour of a yellow crayon that’s been used over a black one. Where are his pink membranes and belly scales at? Where’s the beaten golden body? Where is my boy ‘the most beautiful dragon in the known world’ at?! Huh?!?! Who’s that 😐
I feel like they’re going to take away a lot of his feats and make him just Aegon’s dragon because they’re up Rhaenyra’s arse in the writing room, like no.. this is THE dragon. I don’t care how cool Caraxes or Vhagar are, Sunfyre is him.
Sunfyre is George favorite dragon. He said that he's most excited to see Sunfyre. He wrote poetry for Sunfyre. He just loves Sunfyre and that's why Sunfyre is the prettiest and coolest dragon of all dragons and have the best bond with his rider. He was small but he faced dragons that were twice his size and a lot older than him. George said that Sunfyre look like dawn golden sun. Sunfyre only crime is that he's Aegon dragon and not Rhaenyra's. If he was Rhaenyra dragon do you think they would do that? They already called Syrax, a dragon that was famous for her ugly and weird yellow color the golden. And it's just pointless for him not to be gold. Because Aegon flag had a golden dragon for a reason. Yet it's just pointless. I mean everything in this show is pointless. Idk what these writers thinking to themselves. it's so stupid that I'm not even mad about, it's just laughable. I swear 12 y/o me wrote better fanfic about twilight than these so called professional writers for hotd😂
It's dawn golden sun btw:

“And there Aegon might have remained, hidden yet harmless, dulling his pain with wine and hiding his burn scars beneath a heavy cloak, had Sunfyre not made his way to Dragonstone.”

𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚
𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭
An untamed, wild dragon that lived on Dragonstone during the reign of Viserys I. He had made his lair in a smoking vent high on the desolate eastern side of the volcano called Dragonmont. There were two other wild dragons; The Cannibal and Sheepstealer, the latter was later claimed by a dragonseed called Nettles.
Grey Ghost was said to be the colour of morning mist; a pale grey-silver. He was shy, and stayed away from humans. Feasting on fish, he was often seen diving in the sea for food. He never harmed any of the villagers on the island, nor did he seek out any company. Grey Ghost seemed to be happy in his solitude.
During the Dance of the Dragons, Jacaerys called for every possible rider and dragonseed to claim a dragon for the Blacks, but Grey Ghost was an elusive creature. He was never claimed as he avoided human contact.
However, he was later slain by Sunfyre, and partially eaten upon Aegon’s return to Dragonstone.
