There is going to be another table scene.

And something is going to go very very very wrong.

Carmy kicks the beverage cart that was brought to Sydney's dad. Originally, I thought this was on the same night he got out of the freezer but now I can see the table set up is different from Friend & Family night. The table by the kitchen window had 4 seats but now it has only 2.

We see Carmy meticulously setting up the table and setting the scene for this special night event, making sure every glass is perfectly in place and candles are lit and the flowers are fresh. But what is going to happen that will leave him alone and pissed off?

We've seen him set up dinner before for Claire. Though he really didn't seem to put much effort. The cups were stacked, the table was dirty and full of crap. It wasn't even in his actual dining table, just the kitchen table.

Is he going to make dinner for Sydney and is she going tell him she is going to leave and reject his partnership? Or worse. Reject him?

Or Is it an important business dinner with Unc? Money trouble maybe?

Or God forbid another Claire moment?

Or perhaps even his mother, although I am hesitant to say that because there are wine glasses that look used. However, we do see Carmy in what appears to be the same sweater as he is wearing in the restaurant when he is at his mother's kitchen. Those are the same cookbooks and same red tiles. Is he going to go to her after things go wrong at his dinner?

Tables can be happy.

But I am sad and scared to say, that I do not think this one will end well for Carmy and most likely Syd.

I want Syd to have a love interest this season and not just anyone. My casting would be no other than Lakeith Stanfield 🔥

He’s such a delightful mix of quirkiness, humor, and raw sexuality that he’d make a great secondary character opposite Ayo. Not to mention he’s incredibly handsome. Claire aside, Sydney deserves something with a little heat and I don’t want her waiting around for Carmy. Homegirl is a force and she should have a man who can bring out the best parts of her. Even as a hardcore Sydcarmy shipper, I’d never wish pining for Carmy on her. He’s doing his weird Claire shit, so she needs to do her.

Carmy’s family (Richie, Steve, Mikey, Fak) anyone who was trying to set Carmy and Claire up,

never had good intentions for Claire or for Carmy.

They had an image of what a good man who makes it out looks like in their heads:

He gets the girl, he’s got the job, he takes care of his family.

They wanted Carmy to be their ticket out of dysfunction and generational problems. They wanted to live vicariously through him and Claire was just a “pretty cookie cutter wife” that fit that white picket fence image.

Carmy was a guy like them who had a chance to make it out and prove they could too.

Most of this show is Mikey and Richie living vicariously through Carmy and Carmy allowing them to because he feels like he owes to it them not to live a life he wants.

He doesn’t want the white picket fence (at least not now or like this) he just knows that people have told him that’s what he should want with Claire.

He lives in spite of people.

“Fuck you, watch this.” And he’s still unhappy.

do you think the sydcarmy fight will be at the very end of the season? or do you think it’ll be a few episodes before the finale and we’ll see the aftermath this season? i go back and forth about if the season will end with “we are so over” or “we are so back" lol

I think their big breaking point will come in episode 8 Ice Chips. I think that is also when Claire will come back, I don't think they'll get back together, but whenever Claire pop up is when shit always goes down between him and Sydney. I think he'll try to apologize and fix things with Sydney in Episode 9 Apologies, but it won't work this time. I think Episode 10 Forever will either end with Carmy in a dark place and Sydney going away and agreeing to work somewhere else in a bit of a cliffhanger as to what will happen to The Bear, because Carmy really meant he would not want to do it without her and he might actually follow through with that and quit himself.

I could see it ending with Carmy telling Sydney how he really feels about her and that he was doing all of that because he loves her but her not believing him. Then him telling Nat, Jimmy and the staff that he's shutting down The Bear because he sees no point in doing it without Sydney. And if Sydney finds out he's doing that, and that he meant it when he said it was all for her, I think she will return and it will end with the two of them back together.
