I have been creating a list of Set It Off songs to put in here, and this is on top of the ones ive already added. I am also just now realising that even tho i associate the band in general with Strength the distribution of songs does Not favour Strength much if at all.

Theres a few of the songs where its just the general vibe or just so much of the song works its hard to pick one section, but i went and grabbed some of my fav sections

Peekaboo; like i mean it LITERALLY says this what do you want from me

Why Not Me?; it feels alot like things a Strength vessel would say. I especially like the bit about „a little voice is shouting get up“

Playing With Bad Luck; a very similar idea to Catch A Break because the guy is literally the whole time just talking about how all this bad stuff keeps happening but hes done nothing to deserve any of it, which again, yeah. Man thinking about Witney makes me Feral

Unopened Windows; honestly a streartney song to me but i feel like Witney would be the most nostalgic about it like this. Like hes def the one to look back at it like what-could-have-been the most

Who‘s In Control?; it especially makes me think of Anne at her peak blaming herself for Heart and all that, like „living in fear living afraid/hysterical every day“ TELL me that doesnt remind u of Heart and Anne in ibybf

Me W/O You; it feels vaugely manipulative and vaugely genuine in a way i can only compare to Heart. Plus the whole „theres no me without us“ over-reliance and codependence feels very Heart as well

And i didnt add a part of the song because i cant EXPLAIN it but. Dancing With The Devil in my head just makes me think of Streart. imagining it as like the two of them alternating screaming the lines at eachother, they both see eachother as the counterpart in the song. And this song also lead me to for some reason learning how to draw partner dancing Just so i could draw streart partner dancing and then also went a bit insane about who would be lead dw about it

Legit living for La Squadra's family dynamics shsksjs

Risotto:

- Always the driver. Whenever he gets tired either Prosci or Illuso take turns and replace him. The others cannot be trusted at all.

- Always makes sure everyone has all that they need and that they went to the bathroom before leaving. If there's anything that he hates that is the constant "Can you pull over I gotta pee". 10/10 always turns up the radio and puts on heavy metal just to drown out their annoying whining.

- He actually makes some pretty decent sandwiches so everyone's food would be assured (at least for the first part of the trip because those motherfuckers can eat alot, especially the disaster kids).

Melone:

- Since he's the no 1 disaster kid, it is to be expected that he entirely fucks up the entire trip. Eats messily and bread crumbs fall all over the place (making Risotto throw a fit).

- Annoying as all hell and constantly whines that he gotta go pee. Always complains that he doesn't like the music that's currently on and Ghiaccio punches him, resulting in a full on fight. Either Illuso or Prosciutto always breaks them apart as Formaggio yells "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" and Pesci watches in concern.

- Is the one to have a full on mental breakdown each time he loses internet connection and can't play on his phone anymore. Ghiaccio gets annoyed and tells him to shut the fuck up then they fight again as Prosci turns around and gives them an "ah shit here we go again" glare from the front seat.

Formaggio:

- No 2 disaster kid that a l w a y s asks "aRE wE tHeRe yeT" every fucking 10 minutes. Besides that he often complains about how boring the ride is and how pissed he is that they dragged him along.

- Ends up playing dumbass games with Melone and Ghiaccio such as that one where one person sings one lyric and another has to connect it with a lyric from a different song so it actually makes sense, or just plain old alphabet game.

- Definitely clogged toilets at gas stations more than once and of course that Riso had to pay for all the damage as usual. On top of that he also wastes a hell lot of money buying way too many drinks and candy and devours them all in less than 15 minutes (then screams about peeing).

Ghiaccio:

- You thought Formaggio was pissed because he got dragged along? Ghiaccio is fucking F U R I O U S.

- Plugs in his earbuds and literally ignores everyone and everything around him the entire time. He entirely didn't want to be there yet they still dragged him along so now he's going to be passive aggresive.

- His lack of cooperation would fuck up everyone's plans too because he'd refuse to help the gang with directions and wouldn't fucking pass them a bottle of damn water even if they asked him nicely. Gets in fights with Melone and Formaggio very often because they annoy him to no extent and almost broke a window in frustration.

Illuso:

- Part of the responsible trio. He's in charge of keeping track of where they are and looking for directions. Alas he often fails at it and almost always guides them on the wrong way. Of course that Ghiaccio cusses him into oblivion for it and everyone loses their shit.

- But he tries. He's also one of the disaster kids tamers, only that he also joins in their fuckery sometimes. Once Riso and the others spotted him running around through the market while pushing a cart in which Melone was.

- Annoyingly screams lyrics to songs along with Melone and Formaggio. Sometimes he even starts randomly singing songs then the other 2 disaster kids join in, annoying both Prosci and Ghiaccio.

Prosciutto:

- Done™️ with everyone's shit. He just wants to enjoy the scenery but the disaster kids are either fighting with eachother or just not shutting the hell up.

- Always has to collect Melone and Formaggio since they have a tendency of losing themselves and not sticking with the group. These two often get distracted easily and he has to run after them and drag them back by their collar.

- If Ghiaccio ain't screaming at the others to shut up he is. He may not like the heavy metal that Riso always puts on but he'd rather have that pierce his eardrums rather than Melone, Formaggio and Ghiaccio screaming in the backseat.

Pesci:

- Literally the tamest one. A good boi that either silently enjoys the music in his earbuds or just tries to make small talk with the others.

- He often falls asleep and gets brutally awakened by Melone and Formaggio pranking him (one time they sharpied all over his face and he nearly punched them).

- Likes to read too, but of course that Melone has to be poking fun at him and calling him a bookworm. In that moment Prosci calls him out on his bs and defends his brother then Ghiaccio gets annoyed by all the yelling and everyone loses their shit once again as Riso just s i g h s. It never ends.

I feel as if this song is the closest a fan can get with Kim Namjoon. Just listening to it you feel a bit relaxed and almost a bit sad when you start listening to the first half of the song. This song reflects a person’s tender emotions and voices that run inside of someone’s head when they are confused. I remember listening to this 2 years ago and towards the end Namjoon starts screaming out all his pain and I started crying. C R Y I N G

Namjoon had a really smooth life up until he started pursuing hip hop. He was a beyond smart student and had a happy family so why the hell would he be depressed? He had his whole life ahead of him right?

But this lyrics totally breaks that facade down

“ I didn’t have any dreams just like my lyrics, every day in that way the functions and equations that couldn’t give me an answer in the end those things became uncountable injuries “

Despite having such amazing grades Namjoon did not know what the hell he wanted to do with his life, he didnt want to go into something academic despite being good at it, he was lost in life and his academics could not make him happy but instead hurt him even more.

“ thought I could catch the mirage known as happiness but the me in front of my desk wasn’t happy even for a moment without my mom knowing, I put a sheet of white paper between the pages of my workbook “

This verse totally broke me apart. He wanted to be happy while being in school but school sure as hell did not make him happy. His parents looked up to him as some smartass freak but without them knowing he started writing his own lyrics to cope with his hardships.

“my identity that I wrote down matched to the drum and bass a different, relaxed feeling compared to when I got my report card even when I was #1 my heart couldn’t relax”

The music brought out his true inner feelings, music brought out his true personality rather than when he was almost robot like studying with no self-identity. Despite being number one in class he still felt an emptiness that only music could fill.

“even as 7 years passed... still making my mixtape by myself in one corner of my room some say I’m fake, okay, I admit it, my dark past I can justify it, but I won’t, so that kind of problem won’t happen again the pedal that I stepped on for 7 years has finally been oiled “

Namjoon has been writing music and tried to get recognition for 7 years, despite Bangtan getting fame he is still lonely writing his own mixtape in a dark corner, kind of pathetic ehh idk, in his mixtape interview his dark past was his problematic sayings and actions. He felt the need to appropriate culture in order to rap. He then figured out that music and culture had nothing to do with eachother, music is for everyone. *I’m fake*

And finally after all the hardships after 7 years he is finally started to receive praise and attention!

Composed 6-7 years ago when Namjoonie was about 15 or 16 THIS SONG IS FUCKING BOP.

Absoloute MASTERPIECE! FIRST OF ALL THE ORIGINAL TRACK IS FROM SWIMMING POOLS BY KENDRICK LAMAR AND I LOVE KENDRICK! SECOND, THE RAP FLOW SOUNDS AMAZING NAMJOON IS GOING SO HARD AND DAMN YOONGI BACK AT IT AGAIN! ALSO CREDS FOR BABY BOY JIN FOR SOUNDING SO BADASS HERE BUT HERE IS WHY I LOVE THIS SONG!

I think its absolutely amazing how Namjoon especially writes song towards youth suffering in school, it takes a lot of guts to write against a society that has been around for decades.

But clearly the lyrics of this song are very emotional but the real reason why this song is a masterpiece is because of the rise of emotions.

It starts off slow and cute, Namjoon mentions how he loves the girl and how their love is pure and innocent, throwing cute love phrases and the song sounds so soft, hopeful, and romantic. But in the middle the music starts to get more serious and Namjoon starts to question the relationship. He feels as if the girl thinks of this relationship as more of a task and a job, and slowly as the song comes to an end NAMJOON STARTS FUCKING SCREAMING AND BELTING! This song is more recent and farely well known but I still felt the need to put this masterpiece here. Namjoon said not to worry about him as the lyrics are really sad and almost ???SUICIDAL??? but he said he wrote this when he was stressed last year. Its kind of a self questioning song about life and your purpose. I cried when it came out. well i always cry when i listen to namjoon is it a surprise.

I'm honestly in tears because this song goes to show how hurt Namjoon still is even after all these years. Even after all these awards, fans, and accomplishments. Depression still hurts after a long time. I can tell that this song was talking about his past. This song literally made me realize Namjoon was questioning his existence and I wanna hold him so badly. Guys...we could of lost Kim Namjoon. My absolute favourite human being in the entire world who saved my life. He is a human being who does not deserve such pain but I am so proud he endured it so well and look how far he came. One of my favourite verses "I live for the sake of understanding this world, but why hasnt the world tried to understand me atleast once" Its a really vague phrase which is why I like it. WORLD could mean destiny, fate, life, even parents. He tries so hard to accept his life, to understand his parents wishes, sacrificing his own happiness yet fate decides to only give him the worst. My joonie mini I hope you are better and hopeful now, look at how far you came, your so successful and loved, and you made your family proud. Dont ever doubt yourself and even think about death, just keep living happily and moving forward. He honestly felt lost in this point of his life and still continues to feel lost. - after high school, the boys go to colleges that are far apart, but they keep in contact through skype/facetime/texting and the girls ofc

- during their 2nd year of college, they take a road trip alone because the girls get off class 2 weeks later and for like guys bonding time or something like that

- they like make it to hollywood, and they’re just chilling: farkle is singing, zay is playing the guitar, and lucas is on drums (he learned to play back in texas in order for a way to release his anger)

- BUT LIKE THEY’RE RLLY FuCKING GOOD and theyre approached by a big hot shot manager, and after like a 3 hour phone call with the girls, and a lot of complementing, theyre like hell yeah

- they want their album to be authentic to they take the rest 2 years of college to write and record songs and such

- farkle is singer, but he also plays piano, and ofc he writes a lot of the emotional songs (he gets a lot of inspiration through riley)

- lucas is rlly good at pop-country songs, but while farkle writes a lot of emotional songs, he writes songs that has lots of creative and unique lyrics (i mean, his gf is maya)

- okay, so my headcannon is that smackle does go to the school she wanted, all the way across the world, but her, riles, and maya still keep in connect

- she moves back to new york where she’s a well respected scientist that speaks openly about her aspergers and inspire people who has it

- she and zay meets up, and ofc they click it off, and they try to make it work, but its especially hard with him gone all the time, but they somehow manage. ofc they take alot of breaks, but they never stray and they love eachother

- riley has always wanted a knight to sweep her off her feet, and farkle decides that she needs to be proposed like a princess. the boys are 24 when they preform at the superbowl, in front of 100+ million ppl

- they’re at their last song, which is a new song that farkle wrote for riley, and you can bet she is in front, cheering her bf on. roses and candles are lit in a makeshift stage that leads to riles, and he proposes and its like a fairytale

- lucas and maya are more lowkey, they’re in their beds, just stealing kisses, and watching stand up comedies when lucas slides a ring to maya, and just ask her if she wants to rodeo with him until they die. ofc she says yes

- he would do kind of a quest where she has to find clues that lead her to places all over new york, until she ends up at topangas

- there, theres is the book of etiquette that he gave her in high school that he managed to steals from her drawer

- a part of the books says “a single pady speaks in quiet, soft tone” or something like that, but its crossed out, and he writes in it, “ i hope you scream yes when i ask you to marry me” o r something like that

Alone in Berlin (2016)

Summary Berlin, 1940. Working class couple Otto and Anna Quangel receive the news that their only son has lost his life in the battlefield and decide to resist the Nazi regime in their very own way. My opinion

“You're to blame. You and your damn war! You and your damn fuhrer!”

There are countless films about the resistance during WWII. But I had never heard of a German resistance against the Nazi regime. I'm sure there were more German citizens who weren't set up with the affairs of the German Empire. Most likely they kept this to themselves out of fear for reprisals. Anna (Emma Thompson) and Otto Quangel (Brendan Gleeson), whose name was Hampel in real life, may have had an aversion to the regime in the first place because their son had to join the German army. That's beyond dispute. The day they received a letter with the news that their son was killed at the front, is a turning point for both. Anna starts mourning in a serene way, while Otto's rebellious nature takes over and his plan is to write compromising messages on postcards and leave them behind at random places in Berlin. In this way he's trying to make clear to others that the country they are living in, isn't such an ideal place. Even if there's only one person who starts a silent protest as well, Otto still will be convinced that he has succeeded in his plan. Just look at it as a revenge for the death of his son.

"Alone in Berlin" isn't exactly an action packed movie and progresses slowly. All you get to see the whole movie is how Otto writes down in a patiently way his protest lyrics on a postcard (with kid gloves and in a different style of writing), the callous way these two resistance fighters interact with eachother and an investigating held by the young police inspector Escherich (Daniel Bruhl). Although I actually wondered which tactic the inspector had in mind so he could track down those who are responsible. All he did was looking endlessly at a city map of Berlin with a whole series of flags pinned on it. Each pin represented a found postcard. 285 Postcards, to be exact. And the only clue that Escherich has is the handwriting on the cards. A handwriting revealing certain characteristics of the writer. That's about it.

So besides a subplot about an old Jewish neighbor who's taken care of by the Quangel's if needed, one can only witness their silent protest and their relationship as a long married couple. A marriage with no affection and passion anymore. Even the letter about the death of their son, elicits no signs of any emotion. Despite the superb acting, it was all pretty boring. Even the use of English with a ridiculous sounding German accent, felt forced. This was obviously a strategic move, so they could put two big names on the payroll. "Alone in Berlin" does show that not all citizens were ardent supporters of Nazi Germany, but this one-man action ultimately had no influence on the rise of Adolf Hitler as we've learned in history classes. Eventually it was nothing more than a voice in the wilderness. Had they used the needles that indicated the places where the postcards were found, and planted those in Hitler's ass, it would have been more painful than this admirable action.
