I'M SORRY- I KNOW THESE ARE NOT TAGS NOR REPLIES BUT I COULDN'T JUST WRAP IT ANY SHORTER SO I WROTE A WHOLE ESSAY.
I love Levi Ackerman because of:
🤍 How much I understand his defense/coping mechanisms of pushing people, especially dear ones away at times, just to avoid getting hurt or disappointed in the end
❤️ How much I get it when he often appears as the harsh & grumpy one, when in reality he is the most emotional one, just not letting himself act on his feelings in front of people that rely on him heavily
🤍 Him having to carry the very glorious humanity's strongest soldier title, when in reality it's one hell of a painful burden that he has to deal with everyday
❤️ His strenght basically being his biggest curse, causing constant and awful survivor guilt, blocking and covering his emotional side even more
🤍 His actual human side shining through his emotional shield; his personality not relying only on being the one cool guy carrying his whole squad, but also him genuinely caring about everyone in his own, little ways, including risking his life multiple times for them or making sure they feel slightly better after being forced to murder actual people instead of titans
❤️ His devotion to humanity, despite his childhood being a fucking harsh and cruel one; it didn't stop him from dedicating his heart for the cause and use his power for the sake of weaker ones and their freedom
🤍 His loyalty to his fellow comrades, especially Erwin and Hange, letting them go when their time has come, not even trying to stop them forcefully as he respected their decisions till their very end, even though it hurt him so damn much
❤️ Acting on his cleaning obsession and being a freak about it; yet it didn't stop him from grabbing and squeezing this covered in blood hand of his dying subordinate, just to console them in the last seconds of their life, making sure they believed they died for a greater cause
🤍 Him getting his motivation and will to fight mainly thanks to the fallen soldiers, wanting to carry their lives and make their sacrifice not end up in vein
❤️ The way of living with no regrets and passing it onto his cadets, supporting them in their decisions
🤍 His complexity and how much you can actually tell by just looking onto his silver eyes, his expression, his little frowns and furrowed brows
❤️ His (mutual to mine) addiction to black tea, finding it to be soothing as it reminds him of his mother that was the one and only light and safety source during his childhood
🤍 His little grumpy attitude, the way he opens up with his dry humour more and more as the series go by, often using it to lighten up some shitty situations
❤️ The way he didn't hesitate for a single moment as he finally fulfilled his final order given by Erwin, like the greatest soldier and comrade he is
🤍 Him letting himself finally shed tears at the end of the war, knowing deep down he did everything he could to ensure the future and safety of his people
❤️ Him giving his all despite the poor state he found himself in, no fingers, no eye, his leg injury, just him being so damn selfless again
🤍 "oi" & "tch" & "damn brats"
❤️ The way he just is. Just for being Levi; not Humanity's Strongest, but just Levi.
I just love him and I'm so happy I came upon him and AoT in general, being able to learn so many things.

this is hitting me so much not only bc of precious Levi and Kuchel crumbs, but bc I can relate, at least in some way.
my grandfather, who was my father figure during childhood, used to bring me a cup of black tea each (literally each, he never ever skipped this routine) morning and wake me up like that.
to this day, the only addiction I have succumbed to is tea. when I like you, I just simply brew you tea.
ahhh, it hits home. 💔
it's been easy to write off Levi's passion about tea as a quirk about his character, but tea is every good memory with his mother. memories so good that Levi can imagine a beam of sunlight penetrating the underground ceiling for just the two of them. it's his comfort. it's a symbol of the civilized life in a world of animals tearing each other apart. I just can't. I can't.
Besides being Humanity's Strongest, he was just a normal child back then. A vulnerable, powerless, scared child.
Despite having so many painful memories and experiences, he still decided to use the powers that awakened in him because of grief and loss in the best fucking way possible. To protect humanity, the weak ones, the people who were too scared to fight for their lives. Just like he needed someone to protect him back then - but instead, he was basically violently forced to become the one that had to do it himself, even if he was being just a kid back then.
He literally forged his sadness and pain into strength and served his duty until the very end. Kuchel would be so damn proud, Levi. As we all are.
